SOLEDAD O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: We've got some word just crossing the A.P. wires now. Enron's former top accountant has surrendered to authorities in Houston.
Andy Serwer is with us to talk about this -- how big a deal is this?
ANDY SERWER, "FORTUNE" MAGAZINE: Well, I think it's a big deal. It is somewhat expected, Soledad. The dominos continuing to fall, apparently, in the Enron case. Richard Causey, the former chief accounting officer, walking into the FBI offices at 7:00 a.m. this morning in Houston.
According to the "Houston Chronicle," a sealed indictment handed down yesterday apparently named Causey, a 44-year-old, in the case. So it's not clear what charges are contained in the indictment yet, Soledad. But, of course, he was connected to the plea bargain of Andy Fastow, the chief financial officer, which occurred last week.
O'BRIEN: So, I was going to ask, how was he connected to that plea bargain? Are you saying that the deal that was worked out with Andy Fastow and his wife has essentially led to Causey turning himself in?
SERWER: Yes, that's absolutely right. And, again, it was expected because his position was named, but he wasn't named as an individual. A lot of speculation that this would occur. And, again, we are watching more and more people coming to justice, apparently, or at least being charged in this case.
O'BRIEN: And we will see what happens and what actual charges he faces.
SERWER: That's correct.
O'BRIEN: All right, Andy, thanks a lot for that update.
SERWER: You're welcome.
