BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Prosecutors in the Martha Stewart trial say they expect to rest their case next week against Stewart and her former broker, Peter Bacanovic. Today, an FBI agent is set to return to the stand for more questioning by Stewart's attorneys.
And Deb Feyerick is back at her post outside of the courthouse in lower Manhattan.
Deb -- good morning.
DEBORAH FEYERICK, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Bill.
Well, what Stewart's defense lawyers are really trying to show is that the FBI agent did not record the conversation, that there were flaws in the handwritten notes that she took in the subsequent, and that when Martha Stewart told investigator investigators at the time was accurate as far as she knew.
Now, the jury was on break yesterday for Lincoln's birthday, but on Wednesday, it was really the voice of Peter Bacanovic that had everybody at attention. It was a recording that was made several weeks after Stewart's questionable ImClone sale. It's of the broker's first meeting with the lawyer from the Securities Exchange Commission. And Peter Bacanovic describes why he sold the stock the day that he did.
Apparently, a conversation that he had with Stewart in December, he asks her, how low are you going to wait before you sell the stock? They determined that $60 would be a suitable price. Of course, prosecutors say it wasn't until after that trade was made that Stewart and Bacanovic actually came up with that price -- Bill.
HEMMER: Deborah Feyerick, thanks, here in New York City.
