Obamacare Premiums Rise; Chris Cuomo's Last Five Years. Aired 8:30-9:00a ET

[08:32:29] ALISYN CAMEROTA, CNN ANCHOR: Two lava flows from the Kilauea volcano have reached the Pacific Ocean causing small explosions there. Hawaii's Army National Guard now preparing for the possibility of air evacuations. There is a bit of good news, lava no longer poses an immediate threat to a geothermal power plant in Puna. The hardened lava actually created its own natural wall that blocked other lava flow from reaching the facility.
CNN, by the way, has a live camera on the erupting volcano. And you can watch it any time at cnn.com. It has proven strangely compelling and people are watching this around the world for long stretches because we just can't believe this is live and still happening before our eyes.
CHRIS CUOMO, CNN ANCHOR: And there are people who live like right there. And for them it's not just a point of fascination, it's a point of existential significance.
All right, so the male stars of "Arrested Development" are facing backlash for comments that they made during a "New York Times" interview. The topic of sexual misconduct allegations against star Jeffrey Tambor came up. Jessica Walter, who plays matriarch Lucille Bluth, tearfully talked about an incident where Tambor apparently verbally abused her on set. Listen.

JASON BATEMAN, ACTOR: It's a very amorphous process, this sort of (EXPLETIVE DELETED) that we do, you know, making up fake life. It's a weird thing, and it is a breeding ground for atypical behavior and certain people have certain processes.
ALIA SHAWKAT, ACTRESS: But that doesn't mean it's acceptable and the point is that things are changing, and people need to respect each other differently.
JESSICA WALTER, ACTRESS: Let me just say one thing -- one thing that I -- I just realized in this conversation. I have to let go of being angry at him. He never crossed the line on our show with any, you know, sexual whatever. Verbally, yes, he harassed me, but I -- he did apologize. I have to let it go. And I -- I have to give you a chance to, you know, for us to be friends again.
JEFFREY TAMBOR, ACTOR: Absolutely. (END VIDEO CLIP)
CUOMO: In the rest of the interview, her male costars repeatedly jumped to Tambor's defense and appeared to downplay Walter's claims.
So, just this morning, Jason Bateman, who you heard is part of that audio, is now tweeting an apology for underestimating Walter's pain. And to be clear, the sexual misconduct claims against Tambor happened on the set of his Amazon series, "Transparent." Tambor was fired from that show. He does, however, deny sexually harassing his accusers.

All right, meanwhile, tax reform may make your health care premiums increase next year. How much of a spike could you see? Our Christine Romans crunches the numbers, next.

CUOMO: All right, the latest tax reform bill. You could make the argument that taxes were cut for most Americans. Yes, the percentages weren't even. Some people were left out. But as a result now you're going to see some people's health insurance costs go up. How?
For the answer, chief business correspondent Christine Romans in our Money Center with more.
Do I have it wrong?
CHRISTINE ROMANS, CNN CHIEF BUSINESS CORRESPONDENT: No, you have it right, Chris, you know, Obamacare rates are going to go up next year an average of 15 percent. New numbers from the Congressional Budget Office show this. They show that most of that increase is being driven by a repeal of the individual mandate to buy insurance.
Remember, Republicans called that a tax burdens. It required Americans to have health insurance or pay a penalty. The new tax bill got rid of it. But that essentially removed the stick prodding younger and healthier people to sign up for Obamacare. And with only older and sicker Americans on the exchange, that's why prices rise more than they would even with the normal increases in health care costs.
[08:40:12] Premiums will jump about 10 percent each year, leaving millions more uninsured. Four million fewer insured by 2019. Thirteen million fewer by the year 2027, Alisyn.
CAMEROTA: Christine, thank you very much.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK) [08:45:42] CAMEROTA: Well, today is a bittersweet day here. Chris is moving on to a new venture in his CNN career. He will be hosting "Cuomo Prime Time." Chris, of course, has been the co-anchor of NEW DAY since the day it started nearly five years ago. So it is time now to take a little trip down memory lane and look back at some of his unforgettable moments.

CUOMO: Good morning, good morning, everybody. Welcome to NEW DAY. I'm Chris Cuomo.
And just when I thought it couldn't get more exciting, you hear James Earl Jones saying your name.
We got a big day of news. Let's get after it.
Breaking news.
We're waiting on the storm surge. And these gusts are the real deal.
There's -- there are a lot of beanbags being thrown and tear gas.
Their strength is obviously in their unity, and that's what just Le Charlie (ph) means.
This part of the community really shows you the randomness and intensity of the tornadoes. Look at the difference between life and death.
You have to be there. People do not get what's going on if they're just hearing one side of the story.
They were throwing them back at the officers that made the line come up.
Investigators walking this crime scene were haunted by the sound of cell phones going off again and again.
The faster investigators can get in here and figure out what this is really about, without people like this corrupting the scene and changing things, the better.
It is not the job of the press to be nice or not nice. It's the job to be fair and to be right.
DONALD TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: Why aren't we allowing the Christians in? We only allow the Muslims in.
CUOMO: That's not true.
TRUMP: Why aren't we --
CUOMO: What tears at America's fabric more --
TRUMP: Why aren't we allowing Christians in from Syria? CUOMO: Than rejecting an entire faith in the land of religious freedom.
TRUMP: Chris, let me ask you this --
CUOMO: How much of the lack of action in Washington do you put on yourself in terms of blame?
BARACK OBAMA, FORMER U.S. PRESIDENT: Ultimately the buck stops with me.
CUOMO: Your face became the face of, this is the guy who gets away with killing the black kid.
My motto is, no one gets a pass. And when you sit in the chair, you're going to take responsibility for your ideas.
KELLYANNE CONWAY, COUNSELOR TO THE PRESIDENT: He's not sheltering Russia.
CUOMO: How is he not?
CONWAY: What has the current president done, vis-a-vis` Russia for the last eight (ph) years (INAUDIBLE)?
CUOMO: Well, I don't understand how the legitimate answer to the question is to blame the current president.
CONWAY: Name it. Tell me.
DENNIS RODMAN, FORMER NBA PLAYER: He came here.
CUOMO: You just basically were saying that Kenneth Bae did something wrong.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: But -- but, listen --
CUOMO: We don't even know what the charges are.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: OK, but --
CUOMO: Don't use these guides as a shield for you, Dennis.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Two things --
CUOMO: So you go after him --

CUOMO: Even though he was fighting to do what you want him to do.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: That's not accurate.
CUOMO: That's ugly politics, Jim (ph). Ugly politics. UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Two -- two things. McCabe --
CUOMO: I'm not here to argue against you, I'm here to test what it is that you're putting out to people.
RUDY GIULIANI, PRESIDENT TRUMP'S LAWYER: I have -- I would get killed for that (ph).
CUOMO: I've looked up to you my entire life because you're so accurate. And all of a sudden you're in Trumpland --
GIULIANI: I would get dilled (ph) --
CUOMO: And the facts are all over the place.
NANCY PELOSI (D), MINORITY LEADER: There needs to not include a wall.
CUOMO: Do you think that it helped the chance of getting a deal done by describing their offer as making America white again?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You can't answer it, can you, Chris?
CUOMO: Here's why.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You can't answer it.
CUOMO: You cannot duck your responsibilities by putting them on me, your honor. They didn't elect me to be chief justice.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I'm not --
CUOMO: The truth is all we have. If we can't agree on the facts, you can't have any progress.
ANTHONY SCARAMUCCI, FORMER WHITE HOUSE COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR: The American people want reform, Chris. They don't like this (INAUDIBLE).
CUOMO: I know but they're getting more of the same and worse.
SCARAMUCCI: OK.
CUOMO: He was supposed to drain the swamp. He was supposed to bring in the best. And look at what we're dealing with.
SCARAMUCCI: Well, it may not be --
CUOMO: Why won't you say "thank you" to the president?
LAVAR BALL: It doesn't make -- well, if somebody does something for you, then you say thank you.
CUOMO: Somebody did something for you. Say thank you.
BALL: Now, that's your opinion that he --
CUOMO: You let me know what I'm saying that's inaccurate -- UNIDENTIFIED MALE: No, what -- no --
CUOMO: Because this whole --
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: What I'm seeing is the 22 --
CUOMO: This whole thing thing needs to end and it needs to end right now.
For me, your life is a sense of how you help those around you.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I'm going through some gilt now. Did I help enough people? Why did some of these people die? Why didn't I?
CUOMO: For people like you to come forward and say that you made it, you know, and say that that's -- that's not where it ends for you and that your life goes on, that matters too.
What do you tell yourself when you feel the grief, when you feel the sadness?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He doesn't want me to fall apart.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes, I'm alive.

CUOMO: No, no, no.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I mean that was -- whoo.
CUOMO: Well, look, not knowing is the hardest part.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I don't know where humanity is going. But when I see you and everybody and the flowers, there's always hope.
[08:50:04] CUOMO: Every one of these stories matters because it gives you a chance to think about, who are we? What do we value? What are we about?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It's about injustice everywhere. There's an injustice anywhere.
CUOMO: It says something about who you are inside that you were willing to tell other people to stand up.
Who's better than you?
JOE BIDEN, FORMER U.S. VICE PRESIDENT: Your father was better than me.
CUOMO: Listen, don't make me get upset. You know how pop felt about you. You know you guys represent the same things.
My family's everything to me.
How do you think you helped me become a better daddy? UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You always were a good daddy.
CUOMO: It doesn't matter if he knows how much I changed, how much I learned from being with him. Two Marios changed my life, I suppose, and my hope and prayer is that what mattered most about the one who is gone will live on in me, my girls and the son who carries his name.
CAMEROTA: It's not -- that's the power move.
MICHAELA PEREIRA, FORMER NEW DAY ANCHOR: You're such a knuckle head.
CUOMO: Maybe I'm a little color blind, which is why I (INAUDIBLE).
I care about the people that I work with. It's hard for me to do it otherwise.
You're very close because it's such a hard life waking up so early, but it's worth it.
COY WIRE, CNN SPORTS CORRESPONDENT: Whoa, you make us dance like the -- did you just make your hair twerk on national TV?
CUOMO: I even have muscles in my hair.
ANDREW CUOMO, NEW YORK GOVERNOR: I am the smarter, nicer, funnier version of your cohost, you know, Alisyn. Don't let him say anything mean about me when I get off the air.
CAMEROTA: That I can't help.
You wear it like this?
CUOMO: Yes. Yes, a little bit more like a fedora.
CAMEROTA: That's how you wear it?
OK.
PEREIRA: And apparently someone put in the teleprompter, "Cuomo is awesome."
CAMEROTA: I hate when he does that.
CUOMO: Can you remember all this stuff?
CAMEROTA: When she slaps you.
I'm one of the people who has the blessing of saying, I love what I do. I'm doing exactly what I want to be doing.

CAMEROTA: Mornings will never be the same. I think that is fair to say that you have left an indelible mark. We've had a lot of laughs. We've had tears. It has been a beautiful time.
CUOMO: An indelible mark, like a stain or a scar?
CAMEROTA: Well -- well, it's possible. There has been some open wounds.

CAMEROTA: What -- what announcement do you have for your brother, governor?
A. CUOMO: Well, I have very special announcement today, Alisyn. I'm getting nominated for governor of New York, but I'm also announcing --
CUOMO: Maybe.
A. CUOMO: A new show that I am going -- it was done yesterday. You should read the news. I'm also announcing a new show that I'm starting. It's unique. CAMEROTA: Uh-huh.
A. CUOMO: It's a news making show. It's not a news reporting show. There are a lot of news reporting shows. For example, you are a news reporting show.
CAMEROTA: Yes.
A. CUOMO: Mine is going to be a news making show.
CAMEROTA: Uh-huh.
A. CUOMO: I couldn't get any network to pick it up. So I'm actually starting my own network at the same time.
CAMEROTA: Oh.
A. CUOMO: It's going to be called the Cuomo News Network. And it's going to be airing this show. I have a special attire that I'm going to be wearing.
CAMEROTA: What is it?
A. CUOMO: I'm going to be wearing a black t-shirt at all times.
CAMEROTA: Oh. Uh-huh.
A. CUOMO: Now, it looks a little small, but it stretches. The shirt stretches.
CAMEROTA: That's important. We --
A. CUOMO: And it says on it, "the real Cuomo," because there are a number of imposters out there now who are posing as Cuomos and I don't want to be making any mistake. And also, you know, Alisyn, some people have shows part of the time of a morning show --
CAMEROTA: Yes.
A. CUOMO: And then there's a late show.
CAMEROTA: Yes. What time will yours be on?
A. CUOMO: Prime time shows. My show is going to be all the time. I'm going to be all the time because I don't just work a couple of hours a day.
CAMEROTA: OK. Right.
A. CUOMO: I'm always out there making news, not reporting news.
CAMEROTA: Right.
A. CUOMO: A hunt 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
CAMEROTA: Yes.
A. CUOMO: The real Cuomo.
CAMEROTA: Yes.
A. CUOMO: The real Cuomo, Andrew Cuomo.
CAMEROTA: I'm going to miss this. I'm going to miss this sibling rivalry because every time we've ever had the governor on, this is what happens.
CUOMO: But doesn't a rivalry includes some type of mutuality. He just comes on and attacks me and you love it.
CAMEROTA: Some -- no, I do love it but sometimes you actually do have retorts.
CUOMO: No.
CAMEROTA: Like right now you're strangely quiet.
CUOMO: A little bit of defense.
Well, here's the good news, big brother. I was emotional after the piece --
A. CUOMO: Yes, sir.
CUOMO: But just seeing your face brought back a soberness to me and a sense of purpose that erased any softness that was there.
CAMEROTA: All right, governor --
[08:55:01] A. CUOMO: Well --
CUOMO: Get the last word. A. CUOMO: Let me just say this seriously.
CAMEROTA: Go ahead.
A. CUOMO: Yes, please. Well, I'm older.
I'm going to be -- I'd like to say that I'm going to miss you in the morning but it actually forced me to get up earlier than I would have liked. But you've done a phenomenal job. The whole family is proud of you.
This move to nighttime with what you know, how you were raised, sitting around a kitchen table and learning this from the time you were -- you were a toddler, you -- you are going to make this dialogue a better dialogue. And dad would be proud of you, little brother. Dad would be proud.
CAMEROTA: That's -- governor --
CUOMO: All right, thanks, buddy. Appreciate it.
CAMEROTA: That's beautiful. Thank you very much, governor.
A. CUOMO: Yes.
CAMEROTA: I will talk to you again without Chris here as well.
OK, couple things.
A. CUOMO: Yeah!
CAMEROTA: You're -- now you're emotional again. OK. Here's some things. Just very quickly. You know, your brother talked about the t- shirts you'll need. I also know that you need t-shirts because when you're fighting the storms, obviously the last one that you wore that got so much attention, it went viral, but I think you ruined it. So I did want to get you a new one here. This I feel that right now, if I could have the -- that one with the --
CUOMO: It was -- it's an extra-large, the shirt.
CAMEROTA: Shows that -- well, this is your version of an extra-large. So, here you go for the next time you're fighting a storm.
CUOMO: All right. Thank you very much.

CUOMO: Appreciate it.

CUOMO: But I've got to say a couple of things and then we'll go. One, you know, you were a gift here. Everything changed when you came. So -- you're going to be great.
You guys let me do my job and you're the reason I do it. And you made me who I am. So it's good to have you. I won't there be at night. Homework will be easier for you now because mommy's going to be the one telling you to read, telling you're wrong about not having homework. And the big one doesn't even come. The 15-year-old. That's having a --
CAMEROTA: She's over it.
CUOMO: That's having a teenager.
CAMEROTA: That's right.
CUOMO: The -- this show's a gift. The crew is amazing. The show will continue to get better. I know this for a fact. And I have a heavy heart about leaving, but my mind is clear, the fight is at night. I will be there to hashtag of let's get after it is a way that we do the job, but it will never be the same.
CAMEROTA: It will never be the same in the morning either. And I've learned so much from you, Chris, and it's been electric and electrifying and I'm so proud of everything that we've done over these three and a half years.
CUOMO: My only advice is, forget what you've seen me do as quickly as possible.
CAMEROTA: Got it. OK.
CUOMO: If you want to be a success.
CAMEROTA: Yes. Meaning, what? Do what? Yes, no problem. OK.
CUOMO: Do what you do.
CAMEROTA: I appreciate that.
