(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: The bombshell news that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are divorcing after two years of marriage and 12 years together caught so
many people by surprise.

(END VIDEO CLIP)
GRACE: Breaking right now. We go live, four tots missing and in extreme danger, family and friends right now begging for help.
Good evening. I`m Nancy Grace. I want to thank you for being with us.
Bombshell tonight. The shocking moment a woman rushes out of bed and opens fire on three armed burglars who break into her home, 4:00 AM. Well, she
comes out guns a-blazing, shooting one of the burglars dead. The other two escaped, tonight still on the run.
But tonight, is she facing criminal charges for defending herself?
The first thing I want to do is look at the video. Let`s cue that up, Justin, please. Take a look at this. They come in, all of them armed, two
of them with their faces covered, door wide open. They are running wild! Check it out. Goes back to shut that door so no one on the outside thinks
anything is amiss.
Little does he know the woman inside in bed finds out somebody`s in her home. Look at them! Now they`re heading into the kitchen over on the
left, another room on the right, headed towards the woman`s bathroom.
Whoa! Here she comes, guns a-blazing, getting them out of her home. But these gunshots leave one person dead. The other two escape, on the run
tonight.
Look at this as they come busting into the home, armed, live ammo on those guns, we believe. At this point, she doesn`t know anything`s going on.
She`s asleep in bed in her PJs. Well, she finds out quick enough, and there she is, again, unloading that pistol, not even bothering to aim. But
she had a good shot, one dead, the other two on the run tonight.
Justin, let`s come out of that because I want you all to hear the 911 -- whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Look at that! Do you see that right there?
They`re looking right at each other! This is an additional portion of the video. Keep watching. She`s having a showdown with the one in her home
from a different angle. We`re seeing it in a completely different way.
Can you imagine being at home alone, and these guys come into your home armed with weapons? Guess they didn`t think anybody else was going to fire
back. OK, here we go. Dead, Antonio Leeks. There he is, lighting up a blunt right there, ID unknown on the other two.
Now I want you to hear -- joining me is Scott Kimbler, reporter with 106.7. Scott, take a listen to the 911 call as we continue to watch the video.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Hello? Hi.
911 OPERATOR: Hi. This is Gwinnett County Police Department. Someone dialed 911 from your cell phone. Did you need...
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: 911 Yes. Somebody come in here. My...
911 OPERATOR: Somebody`s in your house?
[20:05:00]UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, somebody come in my house. I don`t know how they come in.
911 OPERATOR: All right. Do you know them at all?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: No. I think they`re black people. Yes. (INAUDIBLE) They got the gun. Oh, they kick the door coming in. They kick the door.
911 OPERATOR: How many?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: How many people?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: (INAUDIBLE)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Two people. Two people.
911 OPERATOR: Where are they now?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: They run because I got a gun.
911 OPERATOR: Did they have guns?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, they got a gun. They open one for me, and then -- I don`t know. They do a hit on the wall, so I`m OK.
911 OPERATOR: How many were they?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Two. Honey, I need a -- I got hurt. I got hurt. I got bleeding in my head.
911 OPERATOR: OK. Did they shoot you?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, they shoot me, yes.
911 OPERATOR: Where did they shoot you?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: They shot me in the wall.
911 OPERATOR: In the where?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: They shoot me in the wall, and then I don`t know. They hit my head here.
911 OPERATOR: They shot you in the war?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes. (INAUDIBLE) in the wall.
911 OPERATOR: Oh, wait, wait. Are you talking about the wall of your house?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Huh?
911 OPERATOR: And how many were there? How many people were there?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Three people.
911 OPERATOR: Both of them were black males?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.
911 OPERATOR: Ma`am, are you hurt?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, I got hurt (INAUDIBLE) bleeding.
911 OPERATOR: OK, where are you bleeding from?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: (INAUDIBLE) head.
911 OPERATOR: The left head?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.
911 OPERATOR: Did they shoot you in the head?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: A little bit. They (INAUDIBLE) they shoot on the wall.
911 OPERATOR: (INAUDIBLE) hit you, they hit the wall.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, yes, yes. The gun hit the wall. And then -- (INAUDIBLE) they shoot one (ph) in the wall.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
GRACE: Scott Kimbler joining me, Newsradio 106.7. So these guys are still on the loose. Hold on. We`re going straight out to the scene, Mike Duffy
standing by. Mike, what`s happening?
MIKE DUFFY, NANCY GRACE PRODUCER: A shocking home invasion happened here at the residence you see behind me in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Just
before 4:00 AM, three armed men broke down the front door, and as they looked for cash and valuables, a woman emerged from one of the bedrooms
still wearing her nightclothes. She opened fire and ultimately killed one of the men.
GRACE: Joining me there on the scene is producer Mike Duffy.
Right now, two of the three are still on the loose. One is dead. Is she actually facing criminal charges for shooting him? What else can you tell
me, Mike Duffy?
DUFFY: Authorities are asking for the public`s help tracking down two men after a failed armed robbery attempt here in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The
incident, all caught on surveillance video, shows the female resident exchanging gunfire with the invaders as drywall debris flies everywhere.
The video even shows one of the men breaking through a glass door in his attempt to escape the gunfire.
Authorities are hoping that because of the high quality-video and the fact that none of the men were wearing masks means that someone can help
identify these individuals.
GRACE: OK, Scott Kimbler, 106.7, tell me what happened. Because these two guys are still on the run. She is the only witness, and I don`t want them
coming back on her to keep her from testifying at trial. What happened, Scott Kimbler?
SCOTT KIMBLER, NEWSRADIO 106.7 (via telephone): (INAUDIBLE) police are still looking for these people, but they have really good images of them.
In fact, Deon Washington of Gwinnett County police says it`s very unusual that you would have such great footage of a crime actually going down and
the high details.
So police have an idea of what they`re looking for, and also are aware that these would be associates of the gentleman that was killed. And she is a
local restaurant owner, so she`s known to a great deal of people there. And so, you know, as police are looking into this and checking into her
business, they do have a great deal to go on.
GRACE: You know, I don`t know that I would call him a gentleman. He broke into the woman`s house as she`s asleep in bed in her pajamas at 4:00
o`clock in the morning, home alone, busts in the door with a gun, all of them armed with live ammo, and start shooting the place up. The woman ends
up bleeding from the head. She escapes with her life, and the only picture I`ve got of him is him smoking a blunt, all right? So I don`t know that I
would call him a gentleman.
But that aside, joining me right now is PIO of the Gwinnett County Police Department, Corporal Deon Washington. Sir, thank you for being with us.
Take it from the beginning, sir, and tell me what happened.
CPL. DEON WASHINGTON, GWINNETT COUNTY PD (via telephone): Basically, as you see on the video, several armed men stormed into a residential home,
searching for what we believe to be cash.
[20:10:08]At some point in time, they awakened the home owner. She ultimately retrieved her handgun and went to investigate the sounds.
At that point, she began firing rounds from her handgun and struck at least one suspect in the torso, killing him. He managed to stumble outside and
died in the driveway.
GRACE: With me is Corporal Deon Washington out of Lawrenceville.
Unleash the lawyers. With me, Kelly Saindon, family law attorney, Carissa Kranz, multi-state attorney, and Yale Galanter, famed defense attorney out
of Florida who represented O.J. Simpson.
All right, Galanter, let`s start with you. I see no reason that the home owner, a female alone in the home, 4:00 AM, minding her own business, in
bed in her PJs, has to take on three armed intruders, two of which are still on the run. Why should she be charged?
YALE GALANTER, DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Well, she may or she may not be. I mean, what the law enforcement people are going to look at is whether her actions
were reasonable, whether or not she had a right to stand her ground, whether or not she was in imminent fear before she took somebody`s life.
And the whole idea that just because somebody breaks into your home, you can shoot and kill them is not based in the law. So that`s what law
enforcement...
GRACE: Wa-wait, wait, wait, wait!
GALANTER: ... is going to look at. They`re going to look at all the facts and circumstances...
GRACE: They were armed, Yale. They were armed.
GALANTER: I understand that, Nancy.
(CROSSTALK)
GALANTER: First of all, she may not have known that. She may not have known that. We don`t know what her expectation of fear was. We don`t
know...
GRACE: What difference does it make?
GALANTER: ... what was going through her mind.
GRACE: Now, wait! Wa-wait! Wait!
GALANTER: And that`s what the prosecutors and law enforcement are going to be looking at.
GRACE: To Carissa Kranz, multi-state lawyer -- Carissa, I disagree with what Galanter just said. You learned that in criminal law first year. You
can drive a truckload of cocaine into the state, but then when you go, Oh, I thought it was a truckload turnip greens -- oh, no. It doesn`t matter.
It doesn`t matter what she knew or didn`t know. They came in armed with live ammo. So why should she be charged?
CARISSA KRANZ, MULTI-STATE ATTORNEY: Because, Nancy, she has every right to defend herself in her house, but the moment they abandoned their intent
to continue to swap fire with her in the house and leave, she has -- arguably she went to the door and shot fire outside that front door, and
she had a duty to retreat. In the law, universally, there`s usually a duty to retreat. And she didn`t retreat. She shot that gun outside the front
door and killed someone in the driveway.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
[20:16:45]UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It`s the dramatic newly released video of a woman, a local restaurant manager, is staying in a Spring Drive home with a
housemate when she hears the three intruders, guns clearly in hand.
911 OPERATOR: Did they shoot you?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, they shoot me.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
GRACE: Now we believe that this woman was targeted. This lady, asleep in her PJs, 4:00 AM, wakes up. She finds out there are three armed assailants
in her home. She opens fire, comes out guns a-blazing. Two on the loose tonight, one is dead. Look at her go! And now she could face criminal
charges? Now, how bass-ackwards is that? Listen to this 911 call.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It`s (INAUDIBLE)
911 OPERATOR: OK...
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: They acting (INAUDIBLE) the gun.
(CROSSTALK)
911 OPERATOR: Ma`am, do you have -- ma`am, do you have (INAUDIBLE) to put on the wall?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: (INAUDIBLE)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I`m sorry. I`m sorry. (INAUDIBLE) the gun (INAUDIBLE) find the gun, please.
(CROSSTALK)
911 OPERATOR: Who has the gun, ma`am?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Huh?
911 OPERATOR: Who has the gun?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I have the gun. Please can you come (INAUDIBLE) afraid they come back.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: (INAUDIBLE)
911 OPERATOR: OK, so they broke the door?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes. (INAUDIBLE) (INAUDIBLE) hurt (INAUDIBLE)
911 OPERATOR: All right, so did you ever see them, or you just (INAUDIBLE) on a camera?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: (INAUDIBLE) head bleeding (INAUDIBLE)
911 OPERATOR: OK. Ma`am (INAUDIBLE) you say you have bleeding in your head?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: (INAUDIBLE)
911 OPERATOR: Yes or no? Ma`am?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: (INAUDIBLE)
911 OPERATOR: You do hear (ph) the ambulance?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: (INAUDIBLE)
911 OPERATOR: OK, so did you -- why does your head hurt?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: (INAUDIBLE) gun. Gun.
911 OPERATOR: Did they hit you with it? Is that what you`re saying? Did they hit you with it?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, yes, the gun, hit me, yes.
911 OPERATOR: OK.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: (INAUDIBLE)
911 OPERATOR: OK. I understand. So they hit you in the head with the gun.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes. No, no, no. They opened (ph) the gun. They fire (ph).
(END AUDIO CLIP)
GRACE: Good Lord, woman, how many times does she have to tell you her head is bleeding? (INAUDIBLE) on and on and on about her head is bleeding?
What difference does it make? She is injured, and there are three guys rummaging around in her home with guns.
Matt Zarrell, are you convinced that this lady was targeted? Because she says she doesn`t know these guys.
MATT ZARRELL, NANCY GRACE PRODUCER: Yes, the cops are convinced that she`s targeted, too, because one thing to notice -- her Mercedes is
actually parked outside, but the Mercedes is not the reason they were there.
[20:20:04]She has a couple restaurants in the area, and the cops believe that there was possible surveillance at the house and her businesses by
these suspects prior to this break-in attempt.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
911 OPERATOR: Somebody`s in the house?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, somebody come in my house. I don`t know how they come in.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: As they exchanged gunfire with drywall debris clouding the dark home, one man runs through a glass door.
911 OPERATOR: Ma`am, ma`am, are you hurt?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, I got hurt (INAUDIBLE) bleeding.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
GRACE: The irony that this woman defending her home could possibly face criminal charges herself, when three armed intruders come into her home at
4:00 AM, their guns loaded with live ammo. They are not afraid to shoot.
What are they looking for? We now know that this lady owns a couple of restaurants. Had they been watching her? Antonio Leeks is dead, but who
are the other two? They are on the loose tonight, brazen armed robbers. Look at her!
[20:25:16]I want to go straight out to Dr. Imran Ali, resident physician, joining us out of New Haven. Dr. Ali, thank you for being with us. If you
look at the video carefully, you see one of them running through a glass door. Maybe, just maybe there`s DNA on that. Now, it won`t help me if
that`s the guy that died. I already know who he is. But what`s the chance you can get DNA off that glass?
DR. IMRAN ALI, PHYSICIAN: It`s very possible. I mean, when you have glass cutting the flesh, you`re going have some residual blood. but more
importantly, you can go and look at local area ERs and local area urgent care centers and see if there`s anybody who`s been injured in that kind of
fashion who`s being sought for treatment, and then we can also narrow the search down that way, as well.
GRACE: Dr. Ali, that`s brilliant, unless that`s the guy that she managed to kill. We already know what happened to him.
Hold on. Let me go to Corporal Deon Washington from Gwinnett County Police Department. Again, Corporal, thank you so much for being with us. Whoever
the perp was that ran through the glass, is he Antonio Leeks or was he one of the other two, Corporal?
WASHINGTON: No, he`s actually one of the other two. Antonio Leeks is going to be the shortest male in the video surveillance. He`s actually the
one wearing the wig.
GRACE: Gotcha. Gotcha. Oh, OK. He was wearing a wig? Boy, they put a lot of thought into this, Corporal. So then there may be blood on some of
that glass. And another thing, Corporal, Corporal Deon Washington, special guest joining us tonight -- Corporal, ballistics can play a big role
because they all started firing. If we can get a bullet and trace it back to a gun, assuming, you know, it`s not stolen, we might hilt the jackpot,
right, through ballistics. What about that, Corporal?
WASHINGTON: Yes, that`s correct. Our hope is that through the crime scene being processed that morning, we`re able to link any shell casings...
GRACE: Right.
WASHINGTON: ... from the scene with a weapon that we may recover once we apprehend these suspects.
GRACE: You know, to Dr. Imran Ali, resident physician joining us out of New Haven. Dr. Ali, the one person died from a gunshot wound to the torso
in the driveway. Do you think he went into shock? How long would it have taken him to die?
ALI: Well, most commonly, when you have gunshot wounds to the torso, you have the highly vascularized organs like the spleen that ruptures, and most
often, people die usually from hemorrhagic shock.
GRACE: Unleash the lawyers, Saindon, Kranz and Galanter. Yale Galanter, I mean, I don`t want anybody to bleed out in the driveway. I don`t want
anybody to die, period. But what do you think is going to happen when you go into somebody`s home armed? I mean, what do you think is going to
happen to you, nothing?
GALANTER: Well, the perpetrators were obviously looking for money or something of value. That`s why they went in. That does not necessarily
give the right to the home owner just to start shooting.
GRACE: Oh, are you back on that again?
GALANTER: What the police are going to do -- yes. Nancy, what the police are going to do is, they need to set up the crime scene, analyze the crime
scene...
GRACE: Let me tell you something, Galanter...
GALANTER: ... figure out what shells, what bullets came from what guns...
GRACE: Yale...
GALANTER: ... who fired first, what the reactions were.
GRACE: I tell you what...
GALANTER: And then they`ll make a charging decision.
GRACE: Somebody comes into my house at 4:00 AM and my twins are there with me, oh, yes, uh-huh, somebody is going to go down. I can just tell you
that right now.
I mean, you know, Carissa Kranz, somebody comes in at 4:00 o`clock in the morning, what do you expect the home owner to do?
KRANZ: You`re right, Nancy, the home owner is going to open fire, but those guys already left the front door. They were swapping fire inside the
house. And who knows, it`s possible that one of those gunshots that killed one of the intruders was from one of the other intruders. And maybe a
felony murder charge will be on the...
GRACE: You know, I was going to bring that up. Kelly Saindon, family law attorney, it`s just incredible to me that this woman could possibly face
charges. Why should she face charges?
KELLY SAINDON, FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY: Well, I was a former prosecutor, and what the prosecution has to do, the prosecutor has to look at weighing the
public interest versus privacy rights. And I agree with you that, as a home owner, you would want to come out guns blazing.
Did she become an aggressor? Did she overstep her bounds? Did she stop protecting herself and her property, and did she then go after and target
these people versus, I`m now safe, but now I want to kill them to get even? So that`s what the prosecutor has to weigh out.
[20:30:00] (COMMERCIAL BREAK)
NANCY GRACE, THE NANCY GRACE SHOW HOST: Brangelina is over. As we go to air, Oscar winner, movie superstar, former bad girl, Angelina Jolie throws
down in court filing for divorce against Brad Pitt amid claims Angelina Jolie hires a private eye just before the legal divorce battle looming.
Breaking right now, tonight, the Brangelina bust-up takes a bizarre twist.
(START VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Isn`t the two biggest names in Hollywood, they are said to be worth about $400 million combined. They also share six children
together. Things could get pretty messy.
GEORGE CLOONEY, ACTOR: I didn`t know that.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt`s divorce announcement even catching close friend George Clooney by surprise.
[20:35:00] CLOONEY: I feel very sorry to hear that. First I heard of it.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Pitt saying in his statement, he`s "very saddened by the divorce but what matters most now is the well-being of their kids."
(END VIDEO CLIP)
GRACE: A lot of claims that are swirling right now, but apparently the Brangelina bust-up is taking a bizarre twist tonight. There are claims that
just before the bust-up, Angelina Jolie rents an $85,000 a month home separate from any of their 12 homes for her and the children to move into.
Now, how did she know she was going to do that, if that is true?
Also tonight, we understand that an anonymous phone call was made from that private jet, that would be Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt`s private jet,
claiming that there had been some sort of altercation, possibly physical, between Brad Pitt and one of his sons.
Now we understand that video is emerging that shows there was no such physical confrontation at all. So, what`s going on? Was this whole thing
orchestrated or not? I want to go first to Stacey Newman. Stacey, what do we know about the phone call? The phone call that apparently comes while
the plane is still out on the tarmac.
STACEY NEWMAN, NANCY GRACE PRODUCER: Yeah, what we`re hearing is actually when the story first came out, we thought that this had happened when they
were actually in flight. But now the reports are they had stopped for fuel in Minnesota.
GRACE: Right.
NEWMAN: . and were on the tarmac there when an altercation happened reportedly between Brad Pitt and their oldest son. That`s when that
anonymous call was made, tipping off that there was this altercation. Authorities were called in.
GRACE: You`re seeing Mr. and Mrs. Smith from 20th Century Fox. Okay, Alan Duke, editor-in-chief, leadstories.com, the first thing I want to do is say
that his co-star in a current movie, Marion Cotillard, is pregnant with her husband`s child, and she has roundly denied any suggestion that she and
Pitt were having an affair. And as I were her or her husband, I would chew up anybody that even put that out there. There`s nothing to support that,
nothing at all.
I just think it was a horrible thing for people to put out there at the get-go. But I want to get back to the facts at hand. What about this odd
phone call, this anonymous phone call that occurs, reporting Brad Pitt in some altercation with his oldest son, I believe it was Maddox, I`m not
sure, because there are several sons to choose from. But now video is coming out that that never happened?
ALAN DUKE, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, LEADSTORIES.COM: Well, it was 15-year-old Maddox. Now, this was a child who Angelina actually adopted even before she
met Brad Pitt and then he adopted Maddox after they got married. This is -- who made the phone call we don`t know. But somebody did see something and
apparently allegedly somebody recorded video on the tarmac of the incident.
Let`s just call it "the incident" between Brad Pitt and his 15-year-old son. And that is what caused all this thing. I think it was the last straw
for Angelina. I`m not sure she was planning the divorce that moment, but that was the last straw.
GRACE: That`s "Thelma and Louise" when Brad Pitt burst on the scene. Everybody knew his name and who he was. Put Alan Duke up just for a moment,
editor-in-chief, leadstories.com. You know, when I first heard all about this, I would typically would side with the mom, you know, statistically.
But now why are you saying -- what was the last straw? Because if there were claims Brad Pitt had a physical altercation with his son, and somebody
happened to video it, and it was anonymous call made from inside the plane, the private jet, okay, I can only assume that Jolie, her friends and the
children and the pilots were the only ones on the plane. That`s not that anonymous. But now video showing there was no physical altercation?
DUKE: Whether it was a crew member or what. By the way, this was not their plane. This was a charter plane.
GRACE: Don`t care. Keep going.
DUKE: . this very plane. So, one reason I don`t believe she planned this is despite reports she had already set up this house in Malibu to move to, I
have learned that the actual owner of the house is Hollywood producer, X- Men producer, Bryan Singer, and that it was just a last-minute thing that she was moved in with the kids to this Malibu -- incredible Malibu house.
[20:40:00] GRACE: Put him up, please. Okay, Alan Duke, listen, I don`t want either one of them to be doing anything nefarious. I like both of them. I
think that they care about their children. That`s the main thing is that they love their children. Okay? But what I`m saying is, she had already set
up this home before this. Why?
DUKE: I believe that she didn`t.
GRACE: You just told me she had it previously set up.
DUKE: No, no, she shares a property manager with the owner of the home. And it was a rush job to get her in. And that`s why I don`t think -- I`ve
confirmed this. I was told this yesterday.
GRACE: Alan Duke, you better be right on this, okay? Because I mean, the fact that this was already set up for her to move in. Why do they need a
new place, they`ve got 12 mansions, right?
DUKE: Well, this -- this is in Malibu. It`s where Matthew McConaughey and some other folks live. Really nice place.
GRACE: Don`t name drop please. Don`t name drop with me Matthew McConaughey.
DUKE: It was -- you`ve seen X-Men, the guy who owns that place.
GRACE: Put him up. Alan Duke, you realize that Brad Pitt has had to go in to the LAPD and have, let me just say a gentle Q and A. And as right now,
there have been no charges. You`re telling me that this was not set up ahead of time? This was not some big plan.
DUKE: No, from -- from what I found out yesterday is that it was a rush job, and in fact, the owner of the home apparently wasn`t even aware that
it was -- she was being moved in. But that it was a rush job because her property manager had a connection and -- and put it -- it was an emergency
situation. Quite an emergency pad to fall into.
[20:45:00] (COMMERCIAL BREAK)
GRACE: Murder in the Courthouse. It`s the third in Hayley Dean`s murder mystery series. Haley is at it again. Wherever she shows up, people drop
like flies, dead. But this time, Hayley is the next murder victim. Portions of proceeds from this book go to the national center for missing and
exploited children to help find missing children. Pre-order comes with a signed manuscript page. Go to Amazon,
Barnes and Noble and more, or to get that manuscript page, MurderintheCourthouse.com.
(START VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Bombshell news that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are divorcing after two years of marriage and 12 years together, caught so many
people by surprise.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Jolie citing irreconcilable differences and divorce document file began to hit. According to her attorney, it was a decision
she made for the health of the family. Jolie is seeking physical custody of all six of their children.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
GRACE: I`m trying to get to the root of something. Alan Duke, who reported, who said that Brad Pitt was talking to the LAPD?
DUKE: Well, I don`t know who reported that, because these days reports just echo around. So I can`t answer that.
GRACE: Okay, Stacey, what do we know about him speaking to child welfare? There`s Girl, Interrupted from Columbia Pictures and remember, she,
Angelina Jolie, was not supposed to be the star. Well, she ended up being the star, and that started a streak of big, big movie hits for her. So,
Stacey, he did speak voluntarily about these claims, correct?
NEWMAN: Correct. Well, on the record, they told us they can`t comment and LAPD says they`re not involved. But sources are telling us, he did speak
with Los Angeles authorities and is cooperating fully and taking this matter seriously.
GRACE: Unleash the lawyers. Saindon, Crans (ph), Golanther (ph), okay, to you, Kelly Saindon, here`s the thing about calling the DCFS, Department of
Children and Family Services, or CPS, Child Protective System. Here`s the thing, Kelly, once you call them and make a claim or report something,
you`ve got a tiger by the tail. You can`t hold on or you can`t let go.
In other words, they`re not just going to drop it just because the person that calls in the claim says yeah, you know what? I was wrong about it.
Let`s forget it. No, no. So, Pitt apparently has gone and spoke to them, and we see that there have been no charges or actions taken, which says to
me those reports that there was no physical altercation must be true.
KELLY SAINDON, FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY, FORMER PROSECUTOR: I agree with you. It doesn`t seem like it`s adding up. And here`s the thing, we talked about, I
think, Maddock being the oldest one, he`s 15, they`ve been together for 12 years, there are six kids, we`ve heard no reports of this. All we hear is
that they`re great parents, that they love their kids, they always put them first.
So, I agree with you that, I think, this is a setup on Jolie`s part. I don`t agree that this department was last minute. The only reason she got a
separate residence is because he can`t have access to it. If it`s a joint property, he can come in. She can close him off by having a separate leash
that he doesn`t have authority to show up.
So, I think this was a set-up, and I think it was someone in her camp that knew what she was doing and made this phone call, so he had negative press
and would back off, because they don`t want publicity or at least he doesn`t in that regard. He wants to put his kids first. He`s gonna put his
head down, go along with the investigation, and try to gracefully exit from her and stay in the kid`s life. That`s my opinion.
[20:50:00] GRACE: Well, apparently, she wants full physical custody. With me, psychologist, Greg Cason. Greg, I hate to put a set up on her. Although
I hear what Kelly Saindon is saying. Everybody, here is "Tomb Raider" from Paramount. She was awesome in that.
Greg Cason, the thing is, at a time like this, everybody`s emotions are really raw, and, you know, when you`re arguing, you have six children,
they`re going crazy, and there`s another thing. It has been documented over and over and over, they`ve got two very different styles of parenting. He
came from a traditional mid-western family, very religious, by the book, and you go to church, you go to school. You are responsible.
She comes from a more, let me say bohemian upbringing, okay? Very devoted to her late mother, Marcheline, and they were Hollywood -- they were
Hollywood family. More, you know, let me just say laid back.
So when you get these two very different parenting styles where allegedly these six children can go to sleep whenever they feel like it, stay up
whenever they feel like it, they don`t go to regular school, they can eat whatever they want or not. I mean, that`s a whole different scenario than
what he`s used to and vice versa. That causes a lot of attention.
GREG CASON, PSYCHOLOGIST: That not only causes a lot of attention, that`s actually the more concerning thing I think in that family, what may have
led to this whole blowup. Permissive parenting styles like the type that you describe that Angelina Jolie had actually do cause children to grow up
with more propensity toward drug abuse and behavior problems. And right when they reach the teen years is when things blow out of proportion.
So Brad Pitt it sounds like was in the back seat in somewhat of a passive role he gave to Angelina Jolie and it`s unfortunate because his traditional
parenting style may have been the very best thing for those children, but the damage may already have been done.
GRACE: Everybody, I want to let you know about a happy ending, in the search for little 13-year-old girl that we reported last week. She was
kidnapped with her 2-week-old infant son. That`s right, a 13-year-old girl has to have a caesarian section to give birth.
We put this case on our program two nights in a row, begging for your help. And boy, did you help. Mommy and son found alive Saturday in the West
Virginia mountains. The 39-year-old stepfather, Christopher Derleth, taken into custody. And I want to say, thank you.
[20:55:00] (COMMERCIAL BREAK)
GRACE: Breaking right now. We go live to Georgia. Four tots missing in extreme danger. Family and friends and police right now begging for help.
(START VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: A Georgia father is wanted by authorities for allegedly kidnapping his four young children. Police say that 34-year-old David
Howard convinced the children`s mother to let him see the kids for a few hours, but neither Howard nor the children have been seen since. The
children include 6-year-old female twins, and two boys ages 8 and 4.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
GRACE: I became aware of this story this weekend when someone came up to me and handed me a flier, begging for help. These four tots are in danger.
Joining me is Scott Kimbler with 106.7. Scott, what happened?
SCOTT KIMBLER, REPORTER, NEWS RADIO 106.7: Nancy, from what we understand, the mother and -- had given David Howard permission to take the kids away
for a little while. He does not have legal custody of these children or does he have legal visitation rights. This was really a gracious act on the
mother`s part believing that it will be okay. This happened Tuesday.
So he takes the kids Tuesday for a visit and he absolutely does not come back. So what we we have now is Georgia police and police across the
southeast now looking for these children. They are 6-year-old female twins, Kennady and Kinsley Howard, also their 8-year-old brother, Camerson Howard,
and a 4-year-old little boy, David Howard.
So these pictures are being well circulated of these children and police are looking for them and it has started what seems to be a simple gesture
from a mother and her estranged father of her children. But he didn`t bring them back and police are very, very concerned about this missing child
case, especially since you have so many children involved in this missing child case.
GRACE: Now, they have been gone, and there`s no sight of them. Tip line (478) 751-7500. Michael Christian, what about the vehicle we think they`re
in?
MICHAEL CHRISTIAN, REPORTER: We believe that they may be in a champagne colored Chrysler automobile, but we don`t know a make or a model or number.
GRACE: A champagne colored Chrysler car, late model. That`s what we think they are in. We are told these four children are in danger. Tip line (478)
751-7500. Please, help us find these missing children.
