(MUSIC)

Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.

ANDERSON: Hi, there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson coming to you from Hollywood. And there she goes again.

HAMMER: Yes. Rosie O`Donnell`s big surprise today about her smackdown with Barbara Walters. And just wait until you hear what Barbara told me about what Rosie said when I sat down with Barbara today. That is coming up.

But first, "Sex and the City" secrets. Tonight, the reported feuds, the crazy stories about the behind-the-scenes backstabbing. Well, for the very first time, you will hear the stars of "Sex and the City" tell me what really happened when they made the "Sex and the City" movie which opens in just a few weeks. From Sarah Jessica Parker to Kim Cattrall, I sat down with all of the "Sex" stars and I got them to reveal to me the real story behind all the rumors.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice over): So the "Sex and the City" movie is almost here. And fans everywhere are readying their "Cosmos" to catch up with Carrie Bradshaw and the girls.

CATTRALL: Have you waxed much?

HAMMER: But as the movie opens, there are so many unanswered questions about reported feuds among the cast, their personal struggles and the future of this ground-breaking TV show-turned-movie. It`s enough to make you wonder, will anyone ever unlock the secrets of "Sex and the City"?

The answer is, yes, as SHOWBIZ TONIGHT goes right to the film`s stars to clear up the secrets of "Sex and the City." Secret number one -

PARKER: That`s why you need friendships that are real.

HAMMER: What about all those reports of an unfriendly feud between the cast?

JO PIAZZA, "NEW YORK DAILY NEWS": These four women haven`t always gotten along the best.

Jo Piazza of the "New York Daily News" tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT the "Sex and the City" movie almost didn`t happen reportedly because of onset tension within the cast, specifically between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall.

PIAZZA: There was always an issue that Kim was the one holding out to do "Sex and the City" the movie because Sarah Jessica Parker was making so much more money than the other three women in this ensemble cast and that Kim Cattrall was holding out to make as big a paycheck as Sarah Jessica Parker. So that caused a lot of tension, not just between Kim and Sarah, but with Kim and the other two women..

PARKER: I loved Kim and I wanted her to be in this movie.

HAMMER: When I sat down with Sarah Jessica Parker, I asked her about the rumors of the behind-the-scenes tiff.

(on camera): When you hear that, does that make you mad?

PARKER: It`s not that I`m mad. I expect better from people. This is a story people like to tell about women. Why? I don`t know. Is it that interesting? Probably not. It`s far more interesting for me to talk about my affection for this cast than to start to deny of sad, old-beaten tale.

HAMMER: Kim Cattrall and the rest of the cast told me the same thing.

CATTRALL: It`s the nature of the beast, you know. If there`s no news, people want to make news.

KRISTIN DAVIS, "SEX AND THE CITY" STAR: To a certain extent, I`ve tuned it out. I feel like it`s a lot of wasted energy on kind of a toxic issue.

HAMMER: OK. So the ladies agree, so I asked "Sex and the City`s token guy and "Law and Order" detective Chris Noth if he ever detected any onset tension.

CHRIS NOTH, "SEX AND THE CITY": Maybe there might have been an argument onset. I never saw it. But so what?

HAMMER: Guess that closes that case. With all this talk about "Sex and the City`s" secrets, it turns out one cast member, Cynthia Nixon, was carrying a big one of her own.

PIAZZA: Cynthia Nixon has finally come out and publicly said that she had breast cancer surgery a couple of years ago.

HAMMER: She`s now speaking up about her battle.

(on camera): Why did you wait to this point to start talking?

CYNTHIA NIXON, "SEX AND THE CITY" STAR: Well, I got my diagnosis about a year and a half ago. And, you know, I had this surgery and then I had radiation and I certainly didn`t want to, you know, send out a press release right then. And I was trying to get through my treatment without having photographers at the hospital.

When you tell someone you`ve had cancer, you know, they go into a panic. Being able to say I had this cancer about a year and a half ago and everything looks good, you know, much better to be able to tell people that.

HAMMER: And now, for the biggest "Sex and the City" secret of all, will we ever see Carrie and the girls don their Manolos for another movie?

(on camera): Is it the end of "Sex and the City." What`s your gut?

PARKER: My gut tells me it`s up to you and your colleagues and the critics and the people who show up.

CATTRALL: Never say never. That`s what I`ve learned about this show.

HAMMER: It just goes to show you, one can never know everything there is to know about "Sex and the City."

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: And I`ve got to tell you that I not only spoke with the "Sex and the City" stars, I`m also one of the first to see the "Sex and the City" movie. And a little later on on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, I`m going to let you know exactly how the movie is. And I promise you this, I will not be shy about expressing my opinion. My review, coming up.

ANDERSON: OK. I`ll wait for that. OK. Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT divorce court is now in session. We`ve got brand-new developments on two big nasty divorce stories new right now. One of Hollywood`s most unusual couples, 40-year-old "Different Strokes" star Gary Coleman took his bumpy marriage to his 22-year-old bride to TV`s "Divorce Court." So what happened? Is their barely eight-month-old marriage done?

Also new right now, the most bitter divorce in Hollywood that just won`t go away; Denise Richards`s shocking new comments about Charlie Sheen. But I`ve got to ask, should she just put a lid on it?

With us tonight, from the Tru TV studios in New York, Ashleigh Banfield, host of Tru TV`s "Hollywood Heat." Also tonight in Hollywood, Carlos Diaz, correspondent for "Extra." Carlos, Ashleigh, great to see you.

I want to begin with Gary Coleman and his wife, Shannon Price. They were having a lot of marital issues - fights, throwing things, temper tantrums. So they took their problems to television - TV`s "Divorce Court." Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

GARY COLEMAN, ACTOR: I`m telling her, "Stop this. You know where it`s going. And eventually it`s going to be meaningless." And she thinks I`m going to go outside and find some other woman to hang out with every time I leave the house after an argument.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Carlos, granted, they are an unlikely couple, but did you see this coming? Not only that they are having problems, problems many married couples face, but taking their issues to "Divorce Court"?

CARLOS DIAZ, CORRESPONDENT, "EXTRA": Yes, first off, Gary has confirmed that he was a virgin or they had not had sex together before they got married. So if he leaves the house, he`s not going to do anything anyway. But the thing is, this is just a progression of the things we`ve seen. Why not have two wacky kids get together and then all of a sudden they go and get married and then go to "Divorce Court." I mean it`s a progression of what`s been happening with reality TV for so long now.

ANDERSON: Well, you know, one of Gary`s problems, he admits, is his hot temper. He throws things, including fits. But we saw a different side to him when he talked about when he first met Shannon Price. Take a look at this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

COLEMAN: I saw her. I saw her face. I saw her body. I saw her eyes. I saw her hair. I saw a goddess - to me. Not everyone is going to think that Shannon is a goddess. But that is my goddess.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: OK. In the end, they agreed not to get divorced. Judge Toler then gave them homework to do, to work on their relationship and to return in six months. Ashleigh, from what we know, is there anything to indicate this marriage will last? Judge Toler told me she`s optimistic. I hope it will last. What do you think?

ASHLEIGH BANFIELD, HOST, "HOLLYWOOD HEAT": Well, American statistics have the average divorce being filed for after about seven years and they barely made it to about seven months. That`s not a good sign. But I will tell you this, Brooke. The way these shows work is if you appear, you get a check, usually from AFTRA. So my bet is that they will appear in six months so that they get the check. What happens after that, I couldn`t tell you.

ANDERSON: Yes. That`s quite an incentive. Well, I know everybody hopes they get an A plus on that progress report six months from now.

All right. We`re moving now to another story new right now. Denise Richards speaking out about ex-husband Charlie Sheen. This is the ugly divorce that just won`t end. And in a brand-new interview with "Redbook" magazine, Denise says, "Charlie is truly a stranger to me, and that`s the really sad part. I know many people who have gotten divorced and remained good friends, and I envy that because it`s obviously much healthier for the kids than our situation."

Carlos, there have been so many nasty allegations made between these two. Is there anything to be gained by continuing to talk about the demise of their marriage and how sad things have become?

DIAZ: Well, we always - you know, in cynical Hollywood, we always make fun of couples who get divorced and say, "Oh, we`re still the best of friends. Oh, we`re great friends." And we always say, "Oh, you`re lying. That`s such a load," and the whole thing. So at least she`s saying, "Hey, we don`t like each other." You know, at least she`s being honest.

And I`ve always said that Charlie Sheen is one of the most honest actors in Hollywood. When you interview him, you`re going to get honesty through and through. So maybe it`s rubbing off a little bit on Denise. I just think that we have kids in the situation and that`s the sad part. When you have young kids, you don`t need to see the parents. I mean, it`s tough enough for divorce kids to go through a normal divorce. But to have those words printed or shown on "Extra," it`s always a little tougher for the kids.

ANDERSON: Well, and speaking of those kids, Denise has a new reality show airing in late May that will include those two young daughters. Here`s a quick look.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DENISE RICHARDS, ACTRESS: Husband stealer, gold digger. (EXPLETIVE DELETED). I`m sick of the lies. Now it`s my turn.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Charlie Sheen actually went to court to try to block this show because it does feature his kids. He lost that battle. Denise said that she wants people to see what her life is really like, basically put on end to the negative speculation. Ashleigh, ten seconds - is there really anything to be gained by doing this?

BANFIELD: Money. She`ll make money. She`ll need it for the continued litigation. But everybody knows, just ask the Lohans, it`s never good to put your kids on reality TV.

ANDERSON: Ashleigh Banfield, Carlos Diaz, thank you both.

HAMMER: Well, Brooke, you know, Tom Cruise was back in the hot seat.

ANDERSON: That`s right, A.J. He was on "Oprah" in front of an audience trying to put those coach-jumping memories to rest once and for all. And I think that`s a pretty tall order. Was it mission accomplished or mission impossible? We`ve rounded up some of the best in the biz for a play-by-play that you don`t want to miss. That`s coming up.

And also this -

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BARBARA WALTERS, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": The fact that Rosie was passionate worked for her. We loved her passion.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Rosie and Barbara at it again. Rosie O`Donnell speaking out about their feud. And I just sat down with Barbara Walters. Wait until you hear what she told me about that famous feud. That`s coming up.

ANDERSON: And Mariah Carey`s quickie marriage. After a whirlwind romance, she and Nick Cannon are reportedly married. But I`ve got to wonder, can it last? Has Mariah made a really big mistake? That`s coming up on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Yes, sexy. Mariah Carey, her latest number one single. Now, "single" of course, a word that can no longer be used to describe the now married diva. Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, TV`s most provocative entertainment news show. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

Tonight, is Mariah Carey`s marriage doomed from the start? Is it headed straight for a disaster? You know, Mariah shocked us all last week with her marriage to Nick Cannon, someone she`s only dated for a couple of months. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can now reveal, when it comes to quickies in Hollywood, failure is likely.

Joining me tonight in New York, Janelle Snowden, the red carpet correspondent for VH1 News. in Hollywood tonight - there he is - Ken Baker, executive news editor for "E!."

So, guys, not only was this a quickie marriage in the Bahamas, but let`s keep in mind, Mariah, 11 years his senior. She`s one of the biggest stars in the world and really, with no disrespect intended towards Nick Cannon, he`s a nobody by comparison.

Janelle, is there anything at all that leads you to believe these two are going to be growing old together?

JANELLE SNOWDEN, VH1 NEWS RED CARPET CORRESPONDENT: You know, am I the only one that still has a hard time believing that this is real? Nick, obviously, has a great sense of humor. He`s "Wild `N Out" on MTV. He`s a comedian first before he`s anything. Mariah, believe it or not, has a good sense of humor, too. I can`t still believe that it`s real. I know they have the documents and all that, but it`s just a part of me that refuses to believe it because Nick`s so young and, we all thought, so innocent. I don`t want to see him be deflowered by Mariah.

HAMMER: But are they doomed? That`s my question.

SNOWDEN: OK. Ok. Are they doomed? I didn`t want to say it. But typically, quickie marriages are always doomed. Can we name one that`s lasted. I mean then the thought today that new detail with the no prenup? I just can`t believe that. If, for no other reason alone, it`s doomed, for that reason.

HAMMER: Yes. We`ll get into that in just a moment. What do you think, though, Ken? In terms of the fact that they got married so quickly. And I don`t like being such a pessimist and I happen to like Mariah a whole lot. But I don`t know if this is going to work.

KEN BAKER, EXECUTIVE NEWS DIRECTOR, "E!": Well, it`s a tough situation because we`re going off of so little information. I mean here`s sort of this information vacuum, so they`re down on this island in the Bahamas. We know they got married. We know they took out the marriage license. But we really know very little about the whole thing. We know very little about their relationship. We`ve only seen them in public once or twice together. There`s no real analysis to make.

But what you can do is you can kind of look at it, like Janelle, and say, wow, these things never last, OK? Like, tell me one celebrity where it did work. But the truth of the matter is we just don`t know.

HAMMER: Well, let`s get back to the point that Janelle raised because it has been reported that Mariah - and I should point out that Mariah`s album right now, number one in the country. It`s been reported she did not have Nick sign a prenup before this wedding happened. If that is in fact the case, Janelle, don`t you think this could possibly be the biggest mistake of Mariah`s life?

SNOWDEN: Totally. I love Nick and I love Mariah just as much as you do. I just can`t even imagine this is true for that very reason. It`s just I know that love is a drug and makes you do crazy things. But I don`t care. There`s no drug that powerful that could make Mariah say, "You know what? I don`t care, all the millions I`ve worked my entire life for, he can have them." I can`t (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

HAMMER: That`s not how she thinks. Her stuff - it`s pretty important to her. The money and success, all pretty important to her and you both have said Mariah and Nick, not the first Hollywood couple to get hitched after a really short courtship.

Let me raise a couple for you, Renee Zellweger and Kenny Chesney, they got married after just a couple of months of dating, only, of course, to have that marriage annulled on the grounds of fraud. That was four months later.

Pam Anderson quickly got married to Paris Hilton`s sex tape ex Rick Salomon. That ended after two months. Britney Spears, of course, that surprise Vegas nuptial to childhood friend, Jason Alexander - a grand total of 55 hours there.

So Ken, I`m guessing there are some cold, hard lessons here for Mariah and Nick.

BAKER: Yes, there are. I mean but you can - look, you have to just say, what is your definition of a marriage succeeding, OK? Now, by Hollywood standards, you look at Tom and Katie, they`ve lasted a couple of years. A lot of people say, wow. We didn`t think they`d last a couple of months. Don`t forget, when they first got together, everyone was like, "Oh, no way. These two could never make it. It`s so fake. It`s so phony." They`re still together and they have a child together even.

I think what`s going to be interesting, though, is to see all the speculation that`s going to come out. Right before I came to the newsroom just now, I just saw a paparazzi photograph of Mariah Carey down in the Bahamas. But guess what? She was by herself. So I`m seeing the tabloid headlines. There`s already trouble in paradise.

But you know, the thing is that, like I said, we don`t know a lot about this couple. And I think that`s what`s really fascinating. Obviously, they`re very infatuated with each other. Now, whether that is the prescription to go get married, I don`t think that`s a good idea.

HAMMER: Yes, I think this is what they`re doing in the Bahamas right now. They`re flipping through the yellow pages, looking for lawyers who specialize in annulment. That`s just me.

SNOWDEN: Oh, stop it.

HAMMER: Janelle Snowden, Ken Baker, I thank you both for being here tonight.

Now, we`d like to hear from you on the subject for our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day. Look at this, "Mariah Carey`s Quickie Marriage: Did she make a big mistake?" Go to CNN.com/ShowbizTonight to vote. You can also E-mail us with more of your thoughts at showbiztonight@cnn.com.

Brooke, shifting gears right now. We`re all just so stunned a few weeks ago to hear about the sudden death of Cameron Diaz`s dad.

ANDERSON: Yes. He was so young, A.J., just 58 years old. Our hearts really go out to Cameron.

HAMMER: And if you think about it, it has to be tough for her right now. She`s out there promoting her new movie with Ashton Kutcher. And now, for the first time, she`s talking on camera about her father`s death. That is coming up next on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

ANDERSON: Plus, Tom Cruise back in the hot seat. He was on "Oprah," this time, in front of an audience and with those couch-jumping memories lingering in the air. This was such an important interview for him. So how did he do? We`ve got the play-by-play coming up.

HAMMER: And I`ve got bragging rights. It was a huge weekend for me because I was one of the first people to get to see the "Sex and the City" movie. So I will tell you - I`ll let you in on what I thought about it.

Plus, my interview with Kristin Davis. And I have to tell you about her very fired up about the paparazzi and all the gossip she`s had to deal with. That is just ahead in the interview you`ll see only on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson. Cameron Diaz is speaking publicly for the first time about the tragic death of her father. Cameron and Ashton Kutcher have been promoting their new film, "What Happens in Vegas." Just several weeks ago, Cameron`s father, Emilio, died at age 58 of pneumonia.

And on the "Today" show, Meredith Vieira asked her about her dad`s impact on her life.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MEREDITH VIEIRA, CO-HOST, THE "TODAY" SHOW: You credit him with the strong person that you are. Last time you were here, you talked about that.

CAMERON DIAZ, ACTRESS: Yes.

VIEIRA: What did your dad do for you in terms of making you the woman you are?

DIAZ: It`s one of those things that, you know, you can`t really - I think you don`t really sum it up in a few words. I think we`re just so fortunate as a family to have the family that we have. And my father, obviously, was dad.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Our thoughts are with Cameron and her family. You can see her and Ashton Kutcher in "What Happens in Vegas" in theaters on Friday.

HAMMER: And now, Brooke, shifting gears. Tom Cruise back in the hot seat.

ANDERSON: That`s right. He was on "Oprah" in front of an audience, A.J., trying to put those couch-jumping memories to rest once and for all. So was it mission accomplished or mission impossible? We have the play-by- play that you do not want to miss, straight ahead.

And also this -

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

WALTERS: The fact that Rosie was passionate worked for her. We loved her passion.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

WALTERS: The fact that Rosie was passionate worked for her. We loved her passion.

HAMMER: Tonight, it`s Rosie versus Barbara, again.

Everyone`s talking about the new "Sex and the City" movie. Tonight, I go one-on-one with sex star Kristin Davis. She`s really fired up about the paparazzi.

Plus, I just saw the movie and I`ve got your very first no-holds- barred review.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson, coming to you tonight from Hollywood. This is TV`s most provocative entertainment news show.

Tonight, Tom Cruise, mission accomplished or mission impossible? Today, we all got to see Tom literally return to Oprah Winfrey`s couch for the second of two extraordinary hours with Oprah. This to try to prove that what everybody`s been saying and thinking about him is all wrong. Hollywood`s biggest stars came out in defense of Tom. You won`t believe just how personal the tributes got. And more secrets about Suri, more details from Tom about Suri`s second birthday revealed.

We`ve got a fired-up coast-to-coast panel tonight ready to talk about this. In Hollywood, Howard Bragman founder of Fifteen Minutes Public Relations. In New York, from the Tru TV studios, Ashleigh Banfield, host of Tru TV`s "Hollywood Heat." And also in New York, Janelle Snowden red carpet correspondent for VH1 News.

Gang, in the first part of Tom`s interview with Oprah, he really opened up, wanted to set the record straight about everything from his couch-jumping to Scientology. Everybody was watching intently today as he approached the couch which he once assaulted with the soles of his feet. He laughed it off - had a good laugh about it. And today, for the very first time, he also really opened up about his two-year-old daughter, Suri. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TOM CRUISE, ACTOR: She`s talking.

OPRAH WINFREY, HOST, "THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW": She calls you Dada Cruise.

CRUISE: Yes, Dada Cruise.

WINFREY: Dada Cruise.

CRUISE: She`s saying, "Dada Cruise." I said, how does she know? She just comes up with these things. I`m amazed. I mean you met her.

WINFREY: Yes.

CRUISE: She likes to dance and sing.

WINFREY: Yes.

CRUISE: Get her nails done with her mom, you know. Really beautiful.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Aww. You know, until now, there have been all those conspiracy theories floating around about Suri, whether Tom is even her real dad. Janelle, you watched the show today, mission accomplished here?

SNOWDEN: Totally. You know, a while back on the show, I said, short of going back on Oprah`s show, before I even knew that he was scheduled to be another guest. I said short of like, making fun of himself and saying, "I can`t believe that couch-jumping incident," I don`t know how America is going to feel about him. And I think he was totally humbled by all the praise from all the celebrity friends. I think that he came across very normal and just very much the all-American, totally level-headed movie star we first fell in love with 25 years ago with "Risky Business."

ANDERSON: And he looked like a proud dad.

SNOWDEN: Totally.

ANDERSON: Howard, mission accomplished?

BRAGMAN: Absolutely. I`ll tell you. The entire two hours that little snippet that you played was the most authentic, the most sincere and the most that would really make people say, "Oh, what a great dad he is." And I think it was a home run for Tom today.

ANDERSON: Well, speaking of a home run, some of Hollywood`s biggest stars appeared on "Oprah" supporting him. I want you to take a look at what Will Smith had to say.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

WILL SMITH, ACTOR: I`ve met very few people who have made that commitment that when they leave this place, they want the world to be better, period, because they were here. And this dude`s made that commitment. There`s not a single piece of press, there`s not been a single interview, there`s not been a single image in the 25 years of his career that gets anywhere near capturing -

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE REPORTER: Who he is.

SMITH: Who he is.

ANDERSON: Ashleigh, Will Smith, very passionate there about Tom. And you know, between Tom being very open, very forthcoming and also bringing out the big Hollywood guns for support, what do you think? Mission accomplished?

BANFIELD: Well, for some, it will be mission impossible because all that stuff lives on YouTube, all the weird stuff that he`s been up to. And I think he did a really good job. And I think my other guests today are absolutely right.

And also, there`s something about America. They love schadenfreude. They love to tear people down and then they love to build them back up. And when you have a parade of fabulous stars coming across your screen like the ones at the "Oprah" show today, lauding those 25 years and those amazing film clips that she ran, it will be an easier hill.

But let`s not also forget Will Smith and Jada Smith are fellow Scientologists and some people will see through that.

ANDERSON: Well, Janelle, what do you think? Was it important for superstars, Scientologists or not, like Will Smith to vouch for Tom and his integrity?

SNOWDEN: I think the fact that they`re Scientologists is irrelevant. I`ve had the pleasure of meeting Tom on several occasions outside of work, outside of interviewing. And I think that one of the things you walk away from having met him with is just intensity. He`s a very intense person.

And the couch-jumping incident was intense, definitely. But as a woman, I would love it if a man got on public and national TV and shouted his love for me like that. So the fact that Will and Jada who spoke up are Scientologists doesn`t even matter, that they`re movie stars, they`re friends. And what they said is genuine just like I think Tom Cruise, as Howard said, came across as completely genuine today.

It`s like you get the sense that there`s not just the majestic presence about him, but there`s something that`s almost divine and I don`t say that as a fan. I say that as a skeptical journalist. I mean you kind of get the sense that there`s no evilness within him. And I think that came across today. I think it was definitely mission accomplished.

ANDERSON: And in the past, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith have never confirmed that they practice Scientology. They`ve said they are friends with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes personally, outside of religion, actually. And I do want to say, you know, in the first part of Tom`s interview with Oprah, he joked around about the whole couch-jumping incident that was the beginning of people - I don`t know - questioning his sanity. Let`s listen to what Tom had to say about that.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CRUISE: You were egging me on.

WINFREY: I was not!

CRUISE: You were egging me on.

WINFREY: No, I was not. I was just going to say -

CRUISE: You were egging me on.

WINFREY: I was going to say, how much of the audience -

CRUISE: But you were egging me on, too.

WINFREY: No, but every time you did it, I`m like ...

CRUISE: I really thought about it.

WINFREY: Do it again. It was funny.

CRUISE: It`s funny, you have that whole other thing that really you start to realize the Internet and things getting re-edit and some of the things are very funny, actually. But you - and it just took a whole other thing.

WINFREY: A life of its own.

CRUISE: Yes, but I - you know, I`m a guy. I dance in my underwear, you know.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Tom, of course, referring to his career-launching role in "Risky Business." Today`s "Oprah" celebrates the 25th anniversary of that film. Howard, what do you think? Will we ever see Tom as that same underwear-dancing, care-free guy? Because he does seem like a much more serious person now?

BRAGMAN: You know, I don`t think the ladies in the "Oprah" audience would have minded if he chose to dance in his underwear today. But Tom said it himself today when you listen to the interview. He said, "After "Top Gun," I could have easily gone on to do "Top Gun 2," but I wanted a different challenge. I wanted to do something new." And that`s when he did "Born on the Fourth of July" and got his Oscar nomination.

Tom`s always going to move forward and not backwards. He`s always going to accept challenging roles. And that`s why we`re going to see interesting things from Tom Cruise. So maybe he`ll be in his underwear, but a different kind, a different pair of underwear, and hopefully they`re clean, they`ve been fresh.

ANDERSON: Maybe boxers. Who knows?

BRAGMAN: You never know.

ANDERSON: You never know what it`s going to be. And you know, after that couch-jumping "Oprah" episode, there was also the infamous interview with Matt Lauer where he attacked Brooke Shields for taking anti- depressants for postpartum depression. There is speculation that he may also return to the "Today" show for another interview. Ashleigh, very quickly, is this a must-do for him?

BANFIELD: I think so. He really attacked one of the nicest and fairest journalists out there. He said, "Matt, you`re glib and you don`t know what Ritalin is." That`s a pretty serious charge and he did it with a very strange fiery eye. So I think he has to. I think he should. And you know what? Matt deserves it.

ANDERSON: Yes. Well, in terms of the Oprah interview, Tom, of course, came across as a really likable guy, which was probably his goal. Howard Bragman, Ashleigh Banfield, Janelle Snowden, thank you all.

HAMMER: Remember, you can watch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT video anytime. We`re always posting new stuff for you to watch at our Web site which is CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. And among the videos that are playing right now, "Rob Lowe`s New Nanny Nightmare."

Brooke, I`ve got to say. You know, even though it got pretty nasty on "The View" sometimes when Rosie was on the show, I thought it made for some pretty great television, too.

ANDERSON: Yes, I agree. But the fighting did turn a lot of people off, too. Didn`t appeal to everybody.

HAMMER: That`s true. But tonight, Rosie and Barbara - they`re at it again. Rosie saying some really shocking stuff on the "Today" show. So I had to go right to Barbara herself to get her reaction.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

WALTERS: The fact that Rosie was passionate worked for us. We loved her passion.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: My interview with Barbara. You don`t want to miss.

ANDERSON: A.J., this is can`t-miss too. I`ve got your brand-new first look at the "Dark Knight" - that`s the new Batman film, starring Heath Ledger in his last completed role. That`s next, and this is so creepy it will give you the chills.

HAMMER: All right. Brooke, a lot of people were looking forward to seeing the new "Sex and the City" movie. I know I was and now I`ve seen the movie. I`m one of the first. You definitely have to stick around for my no-holds-barred review. Plus, you will not want to miss my revealing one-on-one with Charlotte, you know, Kristin Davis. She`s got some really blockbuster things to say about the paparazzi.

HAMMER: Now, we`ve been asking you to vote on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day. "Mariah Carey`s Quickie Marriage: Did she make a mistake?" Let us know what you think at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. If you`ve got more to say, by all means, send us an E-mail at showbiztonight@cnn.com.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ROSIE O`DONNELL, FORMER CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": Every time I defend him, Elizabeth, it`s poor little Elizabeth that I`m picking on.

ELIZABETH HASSELBECK, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": You know what? Poor little Elizabeth is not poor little Elizabeth.

O`DONNELL: That`s why I`m not going to fight with you anymore because it`s absurd.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Never a dull moment on "The View" when Rosie O`Donnell was there. She battled it out with Elizabeth Hasselbeck all the time.

Hey, welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. TV`s most provocative entertainment news show. I`m Brooke Anderson.

Tonight, Rosie is opening up like never before about her battle with Barbara Walters. Now, there was always talk that Rosie and Barbara went at it around that whole Donald Trump mess. Rosie supposedly was angry that Barbara didn`t defend her. Well, it looks like it was more than talk. Check out Rosie on the "Today" show.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

O`DONNELL: I forced her to sort of be more emotional than she`s comfortable with. When the whole thing happened with Trump, and then we did - you know, I was upset that she didn`t like uphold me and defend me. So I told her and I told her, I was crying, "You know, Barbara, you didn`t - " And she was like, "What are you doing?" She didn`t understand. I stood up in the makeup room and I`m like, "It hurt my feelings? It hurts my feelings." And she`s like, "Don`t speak to me like that." And there was no stopping me at that point. It`s like a roller coaster. Once I get to that point, just leave.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Well, just hours after Rosie talked about Barbara on the "Today" show, I sat down with Barbara herself. And you know, Barbara has plenty to say about Rosie in her brand new headline-making autobiography called, "Audition." Barbara is telling all about her personal life and she does not hold back at all when she`s talking about "The View." For the very first time, Barbara tells her side about Rosie`s feud with Donald Trump on "The View" and talked to me about Rosie`s comments today about her passion.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

WALTERS: The fact that Rosie was passionate worked for us. We loved her passion. I think what was difficult is that Rosie has said she wanted to be the boss. When we talked about her being on "The View," she said, "I don`t want to drive the bus; I want to be a passenger." Now she says, "I wanted to drive the bus." Well, hey, it`s called "The View." It`s about all of us.

HAMMER: In "Audition," you talk about how during the height of Rosie`s feud with Donald Trump, you talk about how she came backstage and essentially berated you over not supporting her. Can you tell me about that exchange?

WALTERS: I got in the middle of the whole Donald Trump mess and I had no desire to be in the middle of it. I was kind of dragged into it. And I defended Rosie. And Rosie felt that I didn`t defend her enough. You know, Rosie had times when she thought of me as a mother to her and her own mother died when Rosie was 11. And I think she felt her mother abandoned her. And I think, to some degree, she felt that I had abandoned her. I understood her.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: I had a very long talk with Barbara. I`ve got to tell you, there`s so much more about "The View," Barbara`s love affairs, even her legendary career that you just might not know about. It`s my one-on-one with Barbara Walters, Tuesday in the interview you`ll see only on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

ANDERSON: I`m looking forward to that, A.J. All right. Right now, I`ve got your brand-new first look at "The Dark Knight." It`s the upcoming Batman movie, and it stars the late Heath Ledger as the psychotic bad guy, The Joker. It was Heath`s last finished role before his tragic death of an accidental drug overdose in January. Take a look at this. .

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

HEATH LEDGER, ACTOR: Where do we begin? A year ago, these cops and lawyers wouldn`t dare cross any of you. What happened?

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: So what are you proposing?

LEDGER: It`s simple - kill the Batman. Here`s my card.

MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL: Bruce, (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

AARON ECKHART, ACTOR: Rachel`s told me everything about you.

CHRISTIAN BALE, ACTOR: I certainly hope not. You always told me we`d be together. Did you mean it?

GYLLENHAAL: Bruce, don`t make me your only hope for a normal life.

ECKHART: You`re Alfred, right?

MICHAEL CAINE, ACTOR: That`s right, sir.

ECKHART: Any psychotic ex-boyfriends I should be aware of?

CAINE: Oh, you have no idea.

LEDGER: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Here tonight, entertainment. Well, hello, beautiful! You look nervous.

BALE: I`ve seen now what I have to become to stop men like him. The night is darkest just before the dawn. I promise you, the dawn is coming.

LEDGER: And here we go. This city deserves a better class of criminal. I`m going to give it to them. You`ll see. I`ll show you.

ECKHART: You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

CAINE: Will you be wanting the Bat Pod sir?

BALE: In the middle of the day, Alfred? Not very subtle.

CAINE: The Lamborghini, then. (SOUND OF ENGINE REVVING UP). Much more subtle.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: Some disturbing images of The Joker and Heath Ledger. Looks like it could be a blockbuster. Heath Ledger, of course, was a very talented actor. "The Dark Knight" opens July 18th.

HAMMER: All right. Time for some more stories that are new right now. Lindsay Lohan is just furious with "USA Today." Take a look at this ad that was on the paper on Friday. It was paid for by the American Beverage Institute. Now, Lindsay`s attorney says the paper, is quote, "idiotic for putting this ad in." That`s Lindsay`s DUI mugshot there. The ad says the device that won`t let a car start if the driver is drunk is great for hard core drunks, thus implying Lindsay is one. We hear that Lindsay might sue. The American Beverage Institute says that mugshot is fair game.

Britney Spears went home but not for good. She was in Kentwood, Louisiana for her 17-year-old sister, Jamie Lynn`s baby shower. Remember, Jamie Lynn shocked everyone back in December by announcing she`s pregnant. Dad is long-time boyfriend Casey Aldridge whom she`s reportedly engaged to.

And Miley Cyrus thanked her fans for supporting her while at the Disney Channel games in Orlando this weekend. She didn`t say anything else about her half-nude "Vanity Fair" photo controversy. She sang some songs and that was it.

Well, like a lot of people, I was really looking forward to the new "Sex and the City" movie and now I have had the chance to see it. Yes, I was one of the first. You absolutely have got to stick around for my no- holds-barred review.

Plus, you definitely don`t want to miss my revealing one-on-one with Charlotte, Kristin Davis. She`s got some really blockbuster things to say about the paparazzi. And that is coming up.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PARKER: Hello.

NOTH: Welcome home, baby.

KRISTIN DAVIS, ACTRESS: I always knew she`d marry big. You got that after the second breakup.

PARKER: Yes.

CATTRALL: After the 15th.

PARKER: Yes. We broke up a lot.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Well, the "Sex and the City" girls are back together. This, of course, is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, maybe even of the last five years.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. And, not bragging here, but I was actually one of the first people to see the "Sex and the City" movie. It`s coming out on May 30th. You`ll definitely want to stick around for my review of the film.

But first, more of my revealing chat with Charlotte, Kristin Davis. You`ve got to hear what she has to say about the paparazzi. She really knows firsthand how things have gotten really out of control.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

(on camera): The paparazzi attention has sort of ramped up because you`re starting to do the show. Obviously, you`re maybe not all that aware of it. There are a lot of people and this is something, you know, we talk about a lot. They would say, "You know what? It comes with the territory, the loss of privacy. It`s part of the deal. It`s a hard line to walk.

DAVIS: It`s so hard because we do need publicity. We totally understand that. We need to promote the movie that they`ve paid millions and millions of dollars to make. And we need our careers to go well. I mean it`s a very fine line. I think that the whole paparazzi world has exploded in an insane way.

Basically, since the end of the show - I mean it was ramping up towards the end. But if you think about when we began, we had this little group of New York paparazzi. And we know their names and they ate at our craft service table. And yes, they were there every day. But I think that the line has been blurred to the point I can`t even say the word, and that it`s gone to a really crazy, crazy level where something has to be done.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: I love her. Now, Kristin also tells me that she totally understands how the paparazzi do really play an important role for stars.

All right. Brooke, I know you`re a fan of "Sex and the City," the television show.

ANDERSON: How was it?

HAMMER: Great. I`ve go to say ...

ANDERSON: The movie.

HAMMER: I`ve got to say, fans are definitely not going to be disappointed. I can say that for sure. If you`ve never seen "Sex and the City," you`re going to like it, too, and that`s tough to do. They use a lot of flashbacks at the beginning which really help sort of set up who the characters were. It packs a lot of emotion. It`s really amazing. And I`m not ashamed to admit it, Brooke, I got a little (UNINTELLIGIBLE) along the way.

ANDERSON: You got a little teary-eyed, huh?

HAMMER: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) Suddenly, there were tears flowing but I felt that the heartstrings tugging a little bit.

ANDERSON: OK, a little emotional.

HAMMER: Sarah Jessica Parker says this is not a movie, it`s a feat. She`s right. It`s almost two and a half hours. And I have three more words for you - Samantha, naked, sushi, put it together.

ANDERSON: Is that a surprise?

HAMMER: That`s it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. Thank you so much for watching. And remember, you can always catch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on the 11:00s - 11:00 p.m. Eastern, 11:00 p.m. Pacific, and in the morning, at 11:00 a.m. Eastern. The latest from "CNN HEADLINE NEWS" is next.
