A.J. HAMMER, HOST: Right now, on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, when Sarah met Oprah. Tonight, brand-new bombshell revelations from Sarah Palin`s interview today on Oprah. Palin`s new slams against Levi Johnston.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SARAH PALIN (R), FORMER GOVERNOR OF ALASKA: A big heartbreak is when you see the road that he is on right now.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: How Palin screwed up the devastating Katie Couric interview.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PALIN: I don`t blame people for thinking that I was not qualified, that I was ill-prepared.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Plus, is Sarah Palin pushing for a talk show? And should Oprah watch her back?
Tonight, the brand-new screaming headlines that Brad and Angelina may be breaking up. But what`s the truth? Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with the dramatic very new public way Brad and Angie are trying to put those rumors to rest.
And tonight, the startling big bucks offer to Carrie Prejean for her solo sex tape. Or should we say sex tapes? And will Carrie go for it? The offer remains.
TV`s most provocative entertainment news show starts right now.
Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.
BROOKE ANDERSON, HOST: Hi there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson coming to you from Hollywood.
And tonight, when Sarah met Oprah. The much-hyped, long-awaited face off between Sarah Palin and Oprah Winfrey was finally revealed to the world today. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is here to tell you in word, wow!
There is a good reason they are calling Palin`s new revelations a tell-all because she is telling all about the shocking pregnancy of her teenage daughter, Bristol, about her feud with the baby`s father, soon-to- be "Playgirl" centerfold, Levi Johnston, and of course, the Katie Couric that many say did her in for good. And it all made for big news breaking today.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
ANDERSON (voice-over): She is the former governor of Alaska and running mate of John McCain. She is the queen of daytime talk who, in the last election, supported the other guy.
OPRAH WINFREY, HOST, "THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW": Please welcome Sarah Palin.
(CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)
ANDERSON: But today, on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," Oprah and Sarah Palin finally shared the same stage. And right off the bat, they shot down rumors of a feud.
WINFREY: There were reports last year that I had snubbed you during the election by not having you on my show. Did you feel snubbed?
PALIN: No offense to you, but it wasn`t the center of my universe, OK?
ANDERSON: Even if she is not feuding with Oprah, Sarah Palin still got some others to keep her plenty busy. On today`s "Oprah," she settled scores with the media.
PALIN: I was naive to think that the media would leave my kids alone.
ANDERSON: Levi Johnston...
PALIN: A bit heartbreaking to see the road he is on right now.
ANDERSON: And Katie Couric...
PALIN: There is the perky one again, with the microphone.
ANDERSON: For the very first time today, Palin shared brand-new details about the surprise pregnancy of her teenage daughter, Bristol, smack dab during the presidential campaign.
PALIN: Perfectly honestly, she was quite embarrassed. She called me in tears saying, "Oh, mom. Not just Wasilla do they know what`s going on in my life, but now, the whole world knows, Mom." They knew right off the bat that with that episode that the kids were going to be a part of it, good, bad, or ugly. It was going to be quite taxing on them.
ANDERSON: What`s now taxing Palin is her daughter`s ex-boyfriend, Levi Johnston, who is the father of Bristol`s baby.
WINFREY: Everybody is waiting on the Levi question, I know.
ANDERSON: Nineteen-year-old Levi has made a virtual career out of bashing Palin and making embarrassing claims about her home life. He is also posing nude for an upcoming spread in "Playgirl." And on "Oprah" today, Palin could not resist getting in a dig or two.
PALIN: And by the way, I don`t know if he`s called Levi. I hear he goes by the name Ricky Hollywood now. So if that`s the case, we don`t want to mess up his gig he`s got going, aspiring porn.
ANDERSON: Still, Palin is trying to make peace with Levi.
PALIN: Levi forever will be the father of this most beautiful baby, and I continue to hope for the best and pray for Levi.
ANDERSON: Then, there`s Palin`s infamous interview with CBS News anchor, Katie Couric, the interview that virtually destroyed her image overnight during the campaign.
KATIE COURIC, CBS NEWS ANCHOR: What are newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this to stay informed and to understand the world?
PALIN: I read most of them again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media...
COURIC: What specifically? I`m curious...
PALIN: All of them.
ANDERSON: On "Oprah" today, Palin admitted the obvious. The Couric interview wasn`t her best moment.
PALIN: People only know me from that interview. I don`t blame them for thinking I was not qualified, that I was ill-prepared.
ANDERSON: She reveals for the very first time that she didn`t answer Couric`s question partly because she was annoyed.
PALIN: It was more like, "Are you kidding me?" It seemed like she was discovering the nomadic tribe, a member of the tribe from some Neanderthal cave in Alaska asking me, "How do you stay in touch with the real world?"
ANDERSON: Palin didn`t directly answer Oprah`s other big questions. Is Palin planning to host her own talk show or is she thinking about running for president? But with her new book, "Going Rogue," Palin is proving that, love her or hate her, she is remains a powerful voice who cannot and will not be ignored.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: All right. When you think how did Palin do today, could we be seeing a Sarah Palin show?
Joining me tonight in Chicago, Roland Martin, the host of "Washington Watch with Roland Martin" on the TV One Network and long-time supporter of President Obama. In New York, tonight, Kim Serafin who is the senior editor at "In Touch Weekly" who often defends Sarah Palin.
All right. Roland, I`ve got to tell you, I think by and large, Sarah Palin did a pretty decent job on "The Oprah Winfrey Show." What do you think? How did she do?
ROLAND MARTIN, HOST, "WASHINGTON WATCH WITH ROLAND MARTIN": Yes. It was really simple. I mean, it`s her and Oprah. Oprah asked, you know, a question and she gets to basically repeat what she wrote in the book.
And so - I mean, as these things go, obviously, this certainly was not the same interview that Katie Couric gave when Palin couldn`t answer anything with any kind of sense whatsoever.
But clearly, how folks just looking, if you love Sarah Palin before the interview, you still love her. And if you thought when she talked, it was like scraping nails across a chalkboard, you`d probably feel the exact same way.
HAMMER: What do you think, Kim?
KIM SERAFIN, SENIOR EDITOR, "IN TOUCH WEEKLY": I think probably to a certain extent, that is true. People that like Sarah will probably like her even more. People that don`t like her might continue to not like her. Although I do think she came across very likeable in this interview.
She came across funny. She made jokes. She took responsibility for things. She talked, as you mentioned in that early piece about the Katie Couric interview, said she understands why people would think she was qualified to be vice president. She also comes across very relatable as a Mom.
HAMMER: Yes.
SERAFIN: She was very open about her family, her relationship with Todd, about her daughter`s pregnancy. And I think that is one thing that people will definitely relate to. And she is funny. She could definitely host a talk show. She makes jokes. She`s good.
MARTIN: I will tell you what, A.J. She is lucky that this interview took place before the McCain folks came at her. That happened really later in the week. This interview took place before that. People questioning certain aspects of her book.
If she does any interviews after this, she`s going to have to answer all the discrepancies where the (UNINTELLIGIBLE) were saying she was flat- out lying, what she said in the book. So she`s got to answer those kind of questions. Not sure she wants to. HAMMER: Yes. It`s going to be interesting to see if, in fact, the place that she is now going for a new interview will actually be asking her those questions.
And we know that she has been getting a lot of publicity lately, not just because of this book, but - well, quite frankly, because Levi Johnston won`t stop talking about her. He won`t stop bashing her.
MARTIN: No kidding.
PALIN: Watch what she told Oprah today about the father of her grandson.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PALIN: I don`t think a national television show is the place to discuss some of the things that he is doing and saying. And by the way, I don`t know if he`s called Levi. I hear he goes by the name Ricky Hollywood now. So if that`s the case, we don`t want to mess up the gig he`s got going - aspiring porn - some of the things he`s doing. It`s kind of heartbreaking.
HAMMER: All right. Roland, are you with me that it would just be a whole lot better for Palin to take the high road and stop taking digs at Levi every time she talks about him? I really think she should be above this.
MARTIN: Look, Levi is getting under her skin. It is obvious. She cannot resist firing back at him. It`s no different than we saw during the campaign. So she can`t take that kind of criticism.
That`s why, look, if she chooses to actually run for president, I don`t think she can be under that kind of scrutiny. Everything he says something, she used to fire right back. My deal is, let him say what he wants to say. But you know what? He is getting paid and like, she is getting paid.
HAMMER: Yes.
SERAFIN: You know, I have to say something, though, about Levi. I think she actually handled this well. She can`t just completely ignore it. She couldn`t have just said, "No, I`m not commenting," because then, people would have said, "Why isn`t she commenting. She`s so angry with him."
What she said was that, look, he`s a teenager. She said something that we all realize that he is being kind of brought into things that he doesn`t quite understand. He is exposed to Hollywood, exposed to the limelight. And he`s being sucked into that. And she also did say that ...
MARTIN: No, he`s not.
(CROSSTALK)
SERAFIN: But he is. He is 19. He`s suddenly exposed to the lights of Hollywood, getting awards ...
MARTIN: He knows exactly what he`s doing.
SERAFIN: Getting in "Playgirl." So I think that she is saying, "Look, he`s a teenager. Hopefully, he`ll come back into the fold." And she welcomed him to Thanksgiving dinner. So I think it was her first gesture to him that he is welcomed back into the family. She also did say it`s between him and her daughter to work out the schedule to see the child.
HAMMER: Well, let me jump in - first of all...
(CROSSTALK)
HAMMER: Roland, hold on...
MARTIN: The Ricky Hollywood dig...
HAMMER: My point is she is making a dig when, you know, at the same time, she was finally being a little sympathetic. Everybody now looking at her saying she should do a talk show and she did say on "Oprah," "Oprah, you have nothing to worry about."
Very quickly, Roland. What do you think? Would that be a good idea? Would that be a hit show if Sarah Palin did one?
MARTIN: No, I`m sorry. Stick to what you know.
HAMMER: All right.
MARTIN: Being a talk show host is not it, Sarah.
HAMMER: I asked you for a straight answer. Roland Martin, Kim Serafin, thanks, guys. I appreciate it.
Now, let me send it over to you. Here`s our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day - "Sarah Palin: Should she get her own talk show?" What do you think? Vote at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight or E-mail us at showbiztonight@cnn.com.
ANDERSON: OK. So you`ve heard from Carrie Prejean`s sex tape. Tonight, I can tell you there`s big news that there might be many more Carrie sex tapes out there. And there is a big offer on the table for her to sell them.
Also tonight, the startling new reports that Brad and Angelina are breaking up. We`re going to show you the dramatic way they are trying to put those rumors to rest.
Also this...
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Believe it or not, some people are actually announcing their intention to kill themselves to avoid confronting the fictional dooms day.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: The shocking and disturbing news that the blockbuster new movie, "2012," is making some people think of killing themselves. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.
And now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - these are more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news right now.
TEXT: Nicolas Cage loses two New Orleans homes in a foreclosure auction worth $7 million. IRS documents show that Zsa Zsa Gabor owes $118,000 in back taxes.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
ANDERSON: It was a huge disaster at the box office. But in this case, it`s a good thing. "2012," the movie about the disastrous end of the world pulled in $55 million in the U.S. and an amazing $225 million worldwide in its opening weekend.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with A.J. Hammer in New York.
And tonight, the "2012" panic. Sure, the blockbuster movie shows what might happen if the world started coming to an end. But what it doesn`t show is that right now, at this very moment, there people all over the world who truly believe that when 2012 comes, we are all toast.
And some are so scared they are even threatening to commit suicide. This is one scary story. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Kareen Wynter did some digging to find out what`s really going on.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
KAREEN WYNTER, CNN ENTERTAINMENT CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Hundreds of miles from the tremors of Hollywood...
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It`s not just California, it`s the whole world.
WYNTER: In this quiet suburban California community, a NASA senior scientist sits dumbfounded.
DR. DAVID MORRISON, NASA SENIOR SCIENTIST: I never thought I would be doing this.
WYNTER: What Dr. David Morrison is doing in this cramped corner in his Mountain View, California office at the NASA`s Lunar Science Institute is, in his words, mind-boggling, answering the strangest of E-mails on a topic that is scientifically bogus.
MORRISON: I don`t know why so many think the world is going to end.
WYNTER: An end many believe it will come on December 21st, 2012, a crucial date in the ancient Mayan calendar that has been the subject of thousands of Web sites and hundreds of books.
He says although there is no truth behind any planetary catastrophe, the new apocalyptic movie, "2012," about the earth`s end has psyched fears. The movie`s trailer directs viewers to a fake Web site warning of world destruction, even a survival lottery.
MORRISON: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) scaring people.
WYNTER: NASA, bombarded with questions from the public, had to post a special section on its Web site just to dispel the myth. But Morrison says it hasn`t worked. He still gets E-mails accusing the government of a 2012 cover-up.
MORRISON: "May you rot in the hell you have made for yourselves."
WYNTER: And believe it or not, some people are actually announcing their intention to kill themselves to avoid confronting the fictional dooms day. And Morrison isn`t the only scientist calming 2012 fears.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: None of this is true.
WYNTER: E.C. Krupp, an astronomer and director at Los Angeles` Griffith Observatory says tour guides were so overwhelmed with inquiries that he had to issue a press release to squash rumors.
(on camera): Has it worked?
DR. E.C. KRUPP, DIRECTOR, GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY: Yes. In fact, it has because there has been a tremendous amount of interest by various media outlets in getting real facts on the ground about 2012.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: People will know it`s a movie. Trust me, when the world is going to end, it will not look as spectacular.
WYNTER (voice-over): As for NASA scientist, Dr. David Morrison, he is anticipating 2012 for different reasons. It just may bring a little calm to his scientific world turned upside down.
MORRISON: Come 2013, it will all be over, but maybe somebody will think up another disaster.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What are the odds?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: That was SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`S Kareen Wynter. And that NASA guy, Dr. Morrison, says he`s actually going to check out "2012," but maybe not for the next few days. The space shuttle, Atlantis, just launched this afternoon, so we think he is probably pretty busy with that.
HAMMER: Yes. I would guess. Now, Brooke, all weekend long, the "Showbiz on Call" phone lines kept on ringing and ringing. You know what people were calling about?
ANDERSON: What`s that, A.J.?
HAMMER: Carrie Prejean, Brooke. So many calling in to "Showbiz on Call" our operators were working all weekend long. And Regina in Oklahoma is no longer on team Carrie.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
REGINA, CALLER FROM OKLAHOMA: When Carrie Prejean started out, I was behind her. I felt like that she had credibility and she was just standing up for what she believed in.
Now, I think she has absolutely no credibility. You know, I wouldn`t buy her book when it ends up at the dollar store, which it will, because it`s not going to sell. So I think people just need to write her off.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
HAMMER: We appreciate your call, Regina.
ANDERSON: But Nancy, calling in to "Showbiz on Call" from California thinks everybody is ganging up on Carrie and that`s not right.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
NANCY, CALLER FROM CALIFORNIA: I do think that people are just so jealous that this woman is so beautiful and they are just looking for something, some way to bring her down. She has her own opinions and I wish her good luck.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Thank you, Nancy. Call us at "Showbiz on Call" and let us know what you think about this or anything else that is on your mind.
HAMMER: The "Showbiz on Call" phone lines are always open. This is the number - 1-888-SBT-BUZZ; 1-888-728-2899. That`s where you can leave us a voicemail so we can play your call here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
Tonight, the brand-new blockbuster revelations about Farrah Fawcett`s will. I`m going to let you know who is getting something and who is not. And you`ve got to stick around because you will not believe who may be getting nothing. Not a dime. Zilch. And wow, this brand-new Sarah Palin interview on "Oprah" today has everybody talking. Just listen to Palin`s new slam of Levi Johnston.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PALIN: He is on a road that isn`t - it`s not a healthy place to be. He`s a teenager. I don`t think he realizes quite yet what it is that he is being handled and orchestrated around.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Sarah also reveals how she screwed up that devastating Katie Couric interview. And right here, controversial conservative Ann Coulter. Ann is going to have her very first reaction to Palin on Oprah.
Plus, Rosie O`Donnell`s very personal revelations. The confessions of her love life just out. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.
Let`s roll out the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker." These are more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom and they are making news right now.
TEXT: "Paranormal Activity" passes $100 million mark, it cost $15,000 to make! Courtney Cox is returning to "Scream" series, in "Scream 4."
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
ANDERSON: Tonight, Janet Jackson`s stunning revelation. She said Michael Jackson`s personal doctor is to blame for his death. In a blockbuster new ABC interview, Janet points the finger right at Dr. Conrad Murray.
Murray has admitted giving Michael Propofol, one of the drugs that killed Jackson. Prosecutors are still deciding if criminal charges should be filed. In the Janet Jackson interview which airs Wednesday, Janet also says Murray should no longer be allowed to practice medicine.
Stephen King is speaking out about all of those rumors that he is going to retire. His latest book, "Under the Dome," is a "New York Times" bestseller. And in an exclusive one-on-one interview today with my good friend Robin Meade, host, of course, of "Morning Express," seen right here on HLN weekday mornings, 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. King reveals if the retirement rumors are true.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ROBIN MEADE, HOST, "MORNING EXPRESS": This book, this big, is acclaimed already, by the way. Oh gosh, I don`t know how many days it has been number one on Amazon and who knows elsewhere. I wonder if it`s going to start the retirement rumors again. What say you?
STEPHEN KING: When I talked about retiring, I had this accident where a guy came around and hit me with his van and broke a lot of stuff on the right side of my body. And I was in a lot of pain. I was miserable a lot of the time.
And I thought, you know, this is just too much work. I can`t do it. And then, little by little, the miracle is we get better. If we don`t die, we get better. I started to get better. I started to feel better. And I wanted to work again. So I enjoy what I do.
MEADE: So there`s no retirement going any time soon?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: So there you have it. Stephen King, not retiring.
ANDERSON: A.J., a lot of our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook fans would like Carrie Prejean to retire. Lots of people writing in about Carrie, her sex tape and nearly walking off "LARRY KING" and our exclusive interview with Donald Trump after Carrie dissed him.
Samara S. writes, "Honestly, Miss Prejean has had her 15 minutes. She is rude in all her interviews yet she says that everyone else is inappropriate. She needs to go away."
Shannon C. says, "She should have really left Donald out of the mix. She`s just trying to get attention. But she better watch out because Donald always has the last word."

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.
ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson coming to you tonight from Hollywood. Tonight, when Sarah met Oprah. Sarah Palin today makes her much-anticipated appearance on "Oprah."
HAMMER: Yes, Brooke. It was Sarah Palin`s very first interview with Oprah Winfrey. She was on to sell her new book called "Going Rogue." And nothing was off limits in this interview. I can tell you it made for big news breaking today.
Sarah revealed all about what she really thinks of her almost son-in- law Levi Johnston, why she wasn`t happy with how America found out about her daughter`s pregnancy and what she really thought of that uncomfortable Katie Couric interview.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PALIN: I was already so annoyed and it was very unprofessional of me to wear that annoyance on my sleeve.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Tonight, we cannot wait to hear this lady`s take on the Oprah-Sarah face-off - conservative lightning rod Ann Coulter. How does Ann think Sarah Palin held up on Oprah?
And wait until you hear Ann`s take on the outrageous Carrie Prejean sex tape scandal. What does she think about that and the explosive news today that a porn distributor is offering Carrie millions of dollars for a tape they claim they have of her.
Ann, of course, is the author of the bestselling book, "Guilty: Liberal Victims and Their Assault on America," which is now out in paperback. Ann Coulter joins me here in New York. It`s good to see you, Ann.
ANN COULTER, AUTHOR, "GUILTY": Good to see you.
HAMMER: You talk a lot about Sarah Palin in your book, "Guilty." Let`s start off with Sarah Palin, her brand-new interview on Oprah Winfrey today.
What do you think? Was it a good idea for Oprah to be the first place that Sarah went to talk about her book? Let`s remember, of course, Oprah endorsed President Barack Obama.
COULTER: Right. And refused to have Sarah Palin on during the campaign.
HAMMER: She refused to have anybody on during the campaign, just to be clear.
COULTER: She had Obama on.
HAMMER: Not during the campaign. Not when the presidential was underway. I just want to be fair to Oprah on that.
COULTER: OK, but it`s kind of a big story, sort of perfect - you know, the vice presidential nominee. It did seem like a little bit of a diss when she would have Sarah. It`s sort (UNINTELLIGIBLE) crazy story.
(CROSSTALK)
HAMMER: They addressed that on the show, but in any event...
(CROSSTALK)
COULTER: No, that`s a great question, because, as you know, she is not doing the usual book media tour in New York and L.A. and the big city. She is on the Sarah Palin bus going out to Grand Rapids, Michigan and, you know, Tuscaloosa. She is going out to where her fans are.
But yes, sure. I mean, I think it`s probably better for Oprah than it is for Sarah Palin. But it was a terrific interview.
HAMMER: Well, they left no stone unturned and it was really interesting to hear Sarah speaking very frankly about some intimate subjects including, of course, her real feelings about the guy who was almost her son in law, the father of her grandson, Levi Johnston. Let`s take a look at this little conversation.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WINFREY: Are you aware of all the other things that you are saying, that you really want a parent, that Bristol really raised Piper and that, you know, you and your husband really don`t get along, that you`re really not a shooter - all those things.
PALIN: Right. I did hear things that I never really went to hockey games, too. That`s Levi`s gig right now. And I really don`t want to comment on it because he`s on a road that is - it`s not a healthy place to be. He`s a teenager. I don`t think he realizes quite yet what it is that he is being handled and orchestrated around.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: I liked that in one way because for the first time in all the back-and-forth exchanges between Sarah Palin and Levi, she said some constructive things.
COULTER: Right.
HAMMER: But at the same time, she still feels the need to take digs at him every time she talks about him. Do you think that she should just ignore him altogether?
COULTER: Well, she was asked the question. And the last time she famously gave a blow off answer to a question she didn`t like with Katie Couric, everyone jumped down her throat. So I think she had to answer it and she did answer it in a lovely way.
I mean, the thing about Levi Johnston is - I mean, the media`s obsession with it is pretty outrageous, I mean, the double-standard here. This isn`t even her child. You know, Al Gore`s son had some problems. Joe Biden`s son had some problems.
There has always been this gentlemen`s agreement that the press doesn`t go after the children of the vice presidential candidates or the vice president right now. I mean, we are comparing apples to apples, specific types of apples, these specific types of apples.
And I think it is outrageous that they`re going after the guy who impregnated her daughter when she tried to keep her away from her daughter. But unlike most Democrats, I might add, you know, she`d send her kids to public schools where you`re going to run in to people like Levi Johnston in public schools.
HAMMER: But separate from all that, Ann, because this keeps coming up every time, it seems, that Sarah has talked about him. And again, she said some nice things this time, but she takes digs, it seems to me, somebody particularly. If she`s considering running for office again, maybe take the high road and just say, "You know what? I`m not going to talk about him. I`ll answer your questions, but why take a dig at it?
COULTER: Oh, I think she has taken the high road. I mean, you`d have to give me the specific response
(CROSSTALK)
HAMMER: Right there, we watched her take a few digs at him.
COULTER: No, I think she was speaking honestly what she was supposed to say. I think she is right and that is good advice and he ought to listen to her. He is going down a bad path. And he is not the kind of young man any woman would want his daughter, or her daughter, in this case, hanging around with.
But you know, what could Sarah Palin do? But the media keeps covering this like this is the guy who invented a cure for cancer while leaving Gore`s children alone, while leaving Joe Biden`s children. And this is not her child.
HAMMER: Hey. He did do a commercial for pistachios. Let`s move on to that Katie Couric interview though, because, obviously, this got a lot of play in the media. And she was very frank about this interview.
You remember Katie Couric asked the question and I thought a perfectly legitimate question looking for some insight into Sarah Palin`s world view. What informs that world view, "What magazines and what newspapers do you read?"
Sarah knows that she fumbled that answer and everybody made a big deal of it. Let`s watch her address that with Oprah.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WINFREY: Obviously, you read books and magazines. Why didn`t you just name some books or magazines?
PALIN: Obviously, I have, of course, all my life, read them. I am a lover of books and magazines and newspapers. By the time she asked me that question even though it was early on in the interview, I was already so annoyed and it was very unprofessional of me to wear that annoyance on my sleeve. But I was -
WINFREY: You couldn`t think of any in the moment?
PALIN: It was more like, "Are you kidding me? Are you really asking me...?"
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Again, I don`t want to debate the merits of the question that Katie asked, but I do think it was a legitimate question, "What do you read."
COULTER: I have to debate it.
HAMMER: OK. So let me just tell you. I did not buy what she just told Oprah about why she answered the question the way she did instead of actually running down, "Hey, I read the `New York Times.` I read -" whatever.
COULTER: Oh, no. I buy it entirely. I mean, what was going on there with both Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson is you have the morning TV hosts who are normally doing, you know, inexpensive get-aways and here`s a nice souffle recipe.
Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric are not names they`re dropping around the New York review of books to get, you know, street cred as an intellectual. This was Katie Couric trying to impress the editors of the "New York Times" by coming up with this really kind of quiz show question.
It was like the guy who had the question of name the leader of Swaziland or whatever to George Bush when he was running for office. Nobody knows what his name is now. But they come up with these quiz-show questions, "What are the last five books you read?" Well, you know - "OK, Katie. What are your five favorite operas?"
HAMMER: Newspapers - again, we are getting into the question.
COULTER: No, you can do it, but she was -
HAMMER: But I think newspapers and magazines will tell a person sort of what informs your world view which is the way that Katie (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
(CROSSTALK)
COULTER: No, it was trying to be snippy and I think Sarah Palin is absolutely right. Look, Obama was never asked, "Name, you know, your favorite books and magazines."
HAMMER: OK.
COULTER: And more over, I think Sarah Palin was absolutely right that whatever answer she gave, it would be jumped on. I mean, my guess is she reads guns and ammo. She reads some religious publications. I mean, she reads my newspapers, human events. She probably looks at "New York Times" now and then.
HAMMER: OK. Fair enough.
COULTER: Whatever she says, they`re going to jump on.
HAMMER: Overall, do you think she did a nice job on "Oprah?" And quite frankly, I did, too. I do what to move on, though, tonight, because we have another explosive story to talk about.
Former Miss California Carrie Prejean and her sex tape scandal getting even more heated today as a porn distributor says they want to pay her for eight alleged sex tapes that she did for her boyfriend.
They say she could stand to make millions. A lot of people have been calling Carrie Prejean a hypocrite for doing the speaking circuits, talking about family values while she knew she had made the sex tapes or at least the one that we have verified. What do you say to that? I mean, it is hypocritical, isn`t it?
COULTER: Well, what I say is, don`t do it, Carrie. Don`t do it. Don`t do it. This is where the rubber hits the road. Yes, you are being offered a lot of money. Do not take this step.
Yes, I think it was a bigger problem on Friday or Thursday - whenever it came out. And it turned out she had lied about how old she was. It wasn`t back when she was 17. She was already 20 and there`s more than one. Both are not sex tapes with somebody else. I mean, it`s just...
HAMMER: Right. And that still hasn`t been confirmed, but that`s (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
(CROSSTALK)
COULTER: Right. That`s what the story is.
HAMMER: OK. Your fans steer clear. Ann, we`ve got to wrap it up there. It`s always good to see you. Ann Coulter, appreciate you being here.
COULTER: Good to see you.
ANDERSON: Are the most famous and glamorous couple in Hollywood splitsville? There are startling new reports today that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are breaking up. Could it be true?
But wait, we`re going to show you the dramatic way they are trying to put those rumors to rest once and for all. Also, the shocking news today from Farrah Fawcett`s will. Who she left out and who she included.
Plus, Rosie`s personal revelations. Rosie O`Donnell`s confessions about her love life just revealed. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.
HAMMER: It is time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news right now.
TEXT: Marie Osmond countersues former manager for $2 million. Stephanie Pratt pleads not guilty to DUI and will enter a 30-day rehab program.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with A.J. Hammer in New York.
Tonight, are we about to see a Brangelina break up? Are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie heading to splitsville? One of the many stories making news right now.
There are brand-new screaming headlines that Brad and Angelina may be breaking up. The end is finally near. But tonight, I`m going to reveal a dramatic, new, very public way Brad and Angie are trying to put those rumors to rest.
Also making big news right now, Rosie O`Donnell`s brand-new bombshell confession. It`s about her relationship with long time partner Kelli Carpenter. Rosie let something slip on her brand-new Sirius radio show and it is huge.
And Farrah Fawcett`s will shocker. "RadarOnline.com" reported today that Farrah did not leave a single penny to her long time love Ryan O`Neal.
Joining me tonight in Hollywood, Lauren Sanchez, who is a correspondent for "Extra." Also in Hollywood, Hyla, who is an entertainment journalist with "5DollarPrep.com."
Lauren, Hyla, let`s begin with Brangelina. I want you to take a look at the headlines today on all the celebrity weekly magazines about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
"Life and Style Weekly" with the headline, "Angelina`s a total fake," "OK! Magazine" with "Angie`s adopting without Brad." "Star" has "Mind Games" with a picture of Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie.
We have seen this before. Lauren, more of the same here, what we have been seeing? Or does this raise a big red flag?
LAUREN SANCHEZ, CORRESPONDENT, "EXTRA": Oh, no red flag at all. These magazines - of course, they are trying to sell their magazines right now. I mean, what if they put "Brad and Angie in love." Yes, that wouldn`t sell.
I mean, they are completely a couple. They were just in an event together on Saturday. And they did walk the red carpet, but they were cameras with them inside the event. And they have this little loving touch you see that they shared like this one moment. There is no truth to these rumors.
ANDERSON: Yes, speaking...
SANCHEZ: I think that the magazines are just trying to get out there a little bit.
ANDERSON: Just trying to get those magazines to fly off the shelves.
SANCHEZ: Yes.
ANDERSON: Well, speaking of the public appearance, it really would seem that nobody told Brad and Angelina about all their problems, their supposed problems.
I do want to show you the brand-new pictures we got today of them from this past weekend. They very publicly attended a museum gala in Los Angeles where they got a private look at an exhibit.
Hyla, does this seem like a very dramatic public showing to put the kibosh on all the rumors?
HYLA, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST: No, this is just another day in the life of Brad and Angie. For some reason, the media, especially the tabloids, are obsessed with breaking up this couple. And I don`t understand why.
They`re one of the few couples in Hollywood that seem to have figured out how to have a semi-normal relationship and raise a family under the circumstances. Why they are obsessed with breaking them up - it kind of hurts me. It breaks my heart. Stop it, please.
ANDERSON: And they aren`t lovers, so you know they would probably have attended that no matter what. I do want to move now to Rosie O`Donnell`s brand-new bombshell confession. It`s about her longtime relationship with longtime partner, Kelli Carpenter.
She and Kelli lived together for five years. Now, Rosie spilled the beans on her brand-new Sirius XM radio show. While speaking with a pet psychic about her dog, O`Donnell let this slip, "What happened was when Kelli moved out two years ago, I got the dog because I wanted another child or something to love. And I got the dog."
But just a couple of weeks ago, Rosie told Howard Stern on his Sirius XM radio show that she and Kelli were working through stuff.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
ROSIE O`DONNELL, RADIO TALK SHOW HOST: We have been together for 12 years. We are a family and a family is a family is a family. We will stay a family, you know.
And Kelli and I are working through a lot of the stuff that we have and the children are the priority. I don`t know that we`re going to be together. I think we are working through what`s going to work best for all of us.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Lauren, I was amazed that she kept this a secret for two years. Do you think that Rosie was keeping the fact that Kelli moved out two years ago private for the sake of the kids?
SANCHEZ: Well, it could be for the kids. I think the story is that she is talking to a pet psychic, but we won`t talk about that. You know, because don`t you think - I mean, well, Rosie - you know what?
She really does kind of wear her heart on her sleeve and lets it all out. And the fact that she kept it, that she was living apart from her partner for two years means something.
And I think part of that is because of the kids because she loves them deeply. You see that and they want to shelter them from all the public scrutiny. So I give her kudos for doing that.
ANDERSON: Yes. They are both very committed to their children and keeping their family together. I do want to move now to the brand-new bombshell report today about Farrah Fawcett`s will.
"Radar Online" reporting that Farrah Fawcett left $4.5 million to her son, Redmond O`Neal, but not one penny to her longtime boyfriend Ryan O`Neal or her good friend, Alana Stewart. Alana, of course, shot the documentary about Farrah`s final days.
Hyla, are you as shocked as I am?
HYLA: You know, once these celebrities die, you kind of see their true colors and what the relationships are really about. People can come after the fact and claim that they should be entitled to some money.
But at the end of the day, if Farrah wanted any of these particular friends or family close to her to have money, she would have included it in her will.
ANDERSON: Yes.
HYLA: It`s the same thing with Michael Jackson and his dad. I mean, it just shows exactly where their heads were.
ANDERSON: Well, in an interview with Barbara Walters for "20/20" just before Farrah died, Ryan O`Neal claimed that Farrah had agreed to marry him. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
RYAN O`NEAL, ACTOR: I asked if she would marry me again and she`s agreed.
BARBARA WALTERS, ANCHOR, "20/20": Really?
O`NEAL: Swear to God.
WALTERS: Why didn`t you just go do it?
O`NEAL: Well, we will as soon as she can say yes.
WALTERS: Why?
O`NEAL: Or maybe she can just nod her head. No, I promise you, we will. We will.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Lauren, very quickly, were you stunned that Ryan was left out here?
SANCHEZ: I was a little shocked. But you also have to remember they weren`t married so they might have had separate accounts. He might have his own money somewhere else and property. He might have all of the property in his name.
So while she didn`t specifically say, "Hey, I want to give you this, Ryan," there`s a lot of things we still don`t know yet.
ANDERSON: Yes.
SANCHEZ: So we kind of have to reserve our - all of that until more comes out.
(CROSSTALK)
HYLA: We know that she didn`t offer any money.
ANDERSON: And we don`t want to be insensitive about this, but somebody - I hope somebody is helping Redmond manage that money. Lauren Sanchez, Hyla, thank you both. Good to see you.
HAMMER: Oprah is apologizing to Robin Givens. Tonight, big controversy after Oprah had Mike Tyson on the show. Why Robin was very upset with one particular moment. And Oprah says she is sorry. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.
Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news right now.
TEXT: Melissa Gilbert injured while performing "Little House on the Prairie" musical. New guide to TV shows on the Web launching Thursday: "Clicker.com."
ANDERSON: Tonight, Hollywood`s A-list. Legendary actress Lauren Bacall gets an honorary Oscar. The Academy broke tradition and presented its honorary Oscars off camera over the weekend at a ceremony in Los Angeles months ahead of the ceremony in March.
It was the first ever governor`s awards event. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT caught up with Lauren Bacall there and asked her how she felt when she heard she was getting the award.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LAUREN BACALL, ACTRESS: I was in shock. I thought they made a mistake when they told me. I hadn`t expected it at all. But then, I welcomed it. So there you are. You never know how you are going to respond to these things.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: B-movie king Roger Corman and "Godfather" cinematographer Gordon Willis also received honorary Oscars.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MIKE TYSON, BOXING CHAMPION: I truly wanted to sock her.
(LAUGHTER)
You know, at that particular moment I truly wanted to sock her.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: That was Mike Tyson on "Oprah" talking about wanting to hit Robin Givens. That moment has spelled big controversy for Oprah and a big apology.
Tonight, Oprah apologizes to Robin Givens about her interview with Mike Tyson. A few weeks ago, Oprah interviewed Tyson. He was once married to Robin and he admitted on Oprah that the relationship was abusive.
If you noticed, the audience laughed after the first time Mike said he wanted to quote, "sock her." He and Oprah were talking when Mike and Robin sat down with Barbara Walters and Mike was upset by the things Robin was saying. Let`s take another look. (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WINFREY: Were you surprised that she was saying those things?
TYSON: Yes. I truly wanted to sock her.
(LAUGHTER)
You know, at that particular moment I truly wanted to sock her. But I just didn`t do it. I was young. I kind of - I was really young.
WINFREY: Did you sock her afterwards?
TYSON: No, not afterwards. I didn`t sock her. I wanted to sock her. I had socked her before.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: After that interview, Robin wrote Oprah saying she was deeply disturbed by how Oprah handled some of the interview. So Oprah had Robin on the show and they had a very emotional exchange. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ROBIN GIVENS, MIKE TYSON`S EX-WIFE: I am a woman very much like all the women in your audience and in the audience out there with love for you, tremendous respect, tremendous admiration. And I think I wouldn`t be honest if I didn`t - if there wasn`t a part of me that wanted you to go, when he said, "Oh I have socked her before," to say, "That`s not right." And it wasn`t right. And it was painful.
(APPLAUSE)
WINFREY: I would say to you and to every woman who has ever been hit, I feel that I did not handle that as well as I should have. And I feel that I could have gone further and should have said more to clarify that what he was doing and what he was saying was wrong. So I -
GIVENS: Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
WINFREY: So I apologize to you. And I apologize to every woman who has ever been in that situation.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Oprah also said that she thought the audience laughed after Mike said he wanted to sock Robin because they were uncomfortable. Robin Givens is the spokesperson for the National Domestic Violence Hot Line.
HAMMER: All right. Moving on - you got them? Friday, we asked you to vote on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day. I was just handed these, the final results - "Sarah Palin: Was it a good idea for her to sit down with Oprah?"
Look at this - 44 percent of you said yes; 56 percent of you said no. Kind of an even split with that. But here are some of the E-mails we received. We heard from Shannon in Utah who writes, "I think it was very smart of Sarah Palin. I think it will help women everywhere relate better to her."
And we heard from Tim in Tennessee who writes, "I don`t think it was a good idea. It seems the more she shows her face, the more people turn against her."
And we appreciate your writing and we appreciate your watching. That is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.
ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. Don`t forget you can catch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on the 11:00s - 11:00 p.m. Eastern, 11:00 p.m. Pacific, and in the morning at 11:00 a.m. Eastern here on HLN. Take care.
