HAMMER: Hello, I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City. And tonight, "Dear John, I`ve had it." That is the explosive message today to John Edwards from his wife Elizabeth who has had it with his cheating sleazy ways and lying about having a baby with his mistress.
Well, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT obtained today an advanced copy of this - an explosive story in the upcoming new "People" magazine revealing that Elizabeth is kicking John out.
But wait, there`s more. There are also startling revelations today about Elizabeth going to see her husband`s love child. The rapid fire developments just keep on coming into the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom. We have a team of producers scrambling to make sure you get the very latest on the big news breaking today.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over): Maybe it was the fact that former presidential candidate John Edwards cheated on his wife as she suffered from cancer. Or the fact he fathered a love child with his mistress. Or the outlandish media circus he has created with his constantly changing stories.
JOHN EDWARDS, FORMER PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: Tabloid trash. It`s full of lies. 2006, two years ago, I made a very serious mistake.
HAMMER: Whatever it was, today, we`ve learned that John Edwards` wife Elizabeth has finally said to him what many feel she should have said a long time ago. Hit the road, Jack.
DAVID CAPLAN, "PEOPLE" MAGAZINE: John and Elizabeth Edwards did indeed split.
HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT confirmed today that John and Elizabeth Edwards have formally separated. The brand-new "People" magazine out this week features the cover story, "Elizabeth`s Breaking Point."
CAPLAN: John and Elizabeth separated shortly after Christmas time.
HAMMER: "People" magazine`s David Caplan tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT what led Elizabeth to finally get clear of John three whole years after she found out about his affair with campaign videographer, Rielle Hunter.
CAPLAN: John and Elizabeth finally decided to split because friends of theirs tell "People" that, first of all, Elizabeth was just no longer trusting of John anymore. And John, on the flipside - he didn`t like being mistrusted.
HAMMER: Elizabeth Edwards` sister tells "People," quote, "She said, `I`ve had it. I can`t do this. I want my life back.`" She adds, "A long marriage is a tough habit to break. And when you throw it incurable cancer and young children, it makes you waver. But I hear peace in her voice I haven`t heard in a long time."
CAPLAN: Right now, Elizabeth is still undergoing cancer treatment, friends tell "People." And she does have divorce papers ready. However, a friend tells "People" that whether or not she files really depends on the state of her health.
HAMMER: And with his 32-year marriage in shambles, "People" reports that John Edwards is managing a complicated relationship with his nearly 2-year- old baby daughter, Frances Quinn, and his ex-mistress.
CAPLAN: John Edwards and Rielle Hunter actually don`t have any face-to- face contact. They are in contact through their lawyers. However, he is trying to really support the child. And in fact, he bought Rielle and the child a home in Charlotte, North Carolina.
HAMMER: But on the very day we got word of the Edwards separation, new dirty details of the ex-senator`s affair with Hunter are spilling out, all thanks to an explosive new book.
CAPLAN: On January 30th, the book "The Politician" is coming out. And that`s written by a staffer of John Edwards. And that is supposed to have a lot of sort of explosive allegations, one of which is that John Edwards actually asked Andrew Young, the author of the book, to say the baby was his baby and that John was actually going to pay him to do so.
ANDREW YOUNG, FORMER AIDE OF JOHN EDWARDS: As soon as this hit the "Enquirer," we knew we were going to have to leave town.
HAMMER: In an interview with ABC`s "20/20, Young claims, as part of the cover-up, he and his family and Rielle Hunter were hidden away in a life of luxury with everything bank rolled by a wealthy Edwards` friend.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: How much money was actually devoted to this cover-up?
ANDREW: Over $1 million. We were living in mansions, flying around in jets.
HAMMER: Young`s most cringe-inducing claim - that he`s found a sex tape showing Edwards and Hunter.
CAPLAN: Every few days, there is a new sort of allegation in this story which is really making it even more scandalous and more (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
HAMMER: This is one sex scandal that gets even more disgusting by the day. And it`s easy to see how Elizabeth Edwards could have had enough.
CAPLAN: As Elizabeth gets on with her life, friends tell "People" that she`s still running a furniture store. She`s now taking a painting class. And she`s also venturing on (UNINTELLIGIBLE). With the new allegations coming out and the book coming out, it`s really making it difficult for the Edwards to recover from the scandal.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: Not only does it seem that John Edwards` marriage is now over. But today, we have these explosive new details about his affair with Rielle Hunter. I`m wondering when this train wreck is going to come to an end.
Joining me tonight in New York, Jane-Velez Mitchell, host of "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL," seen every night at 7:00 Eastern here on HLN. Jane is the author of this excellent book, "I Want: My Journey from Addiction and Overconsumption to a Simpler, Honest Life." Also New York tonight, Noelle Nikpour, who is a columnist for the "South Florida Sun Sentinel."
So the brand-new details about Edwards` affair. I`ve got to tell you, I found them just outrageous. Not only does former aide, Andrew Young, claim that there is a sex tape of Edwards and Rielle, but Young says that Edwards slept with his mistress in the bed he shared with his wife.
Jane, I must say just when I thought I couldn`t find John Edwards any more disgusting, this sex scandal has just hit a new low, hasn`t it?
JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HOST, "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL": It is a shocker. It`s hard to shock us, A.J. We think we`ve heard it all. But when I heard about the sex tape this aide saying he stumbled upon, this broken tape and he fixed it and put it in and started playing it and it`s a sex tape of John Edwards having sex with a pregnant woman who he believes is Rielle Hunter, my jaw just dropped.
I mean, this is really beyond anything in terms of political sex scandals that I can remember. It`s making the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal look like a tea party including the stained dress.
HAMMER: Yes, no kidding. And not to make light of it at all but he really has raised the bar here in an unbelievable way. These revelations come only days before Andrew Young, that aide of John Edwards, is set to appear on 20/20 to tell all. And in a preview of that interview, we heard for the first time how John reacted when he knew that jig was up and he was found out. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE (voice-over): The senator`s love child exposed -
YOUNG: And he was mulling and he was crying. And he said, "I have been caught." As soon as this hit the "Enquirer," we knew we were going to have to leave town.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: May I remind you, this is a man who wanted us to put him in the White House. I mean, come on. Noelle, does his audacity just astound you as it does me?
NOELLE NIKPOUR, COLUMNIST, SOUTH FLORIDA SUN SENTINEL: Oh, you guys. Do you remember the quote, "It`s easier to move a mountain than it is to change a man`s character"? I mean, who is John Edwards anyway? But you know, according to Andrew Young, he is basically a serial liar and low life bum.
HAMMER: Yes. It`s just sickening and I guess it`s starting to get pretty consistent the more we talk about it. Now, if you thought things couldn`t get any worse for John Edwards, today we`re learning the couple has officially filed for legal separation.
Look, it`s been three years since the scandal first broke, and we know throughout that time, as we learned, all of the sordid details, the baby, the lying, the cheating, Elizabeth continued to stand by her man. Jane, why dump him now?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I would think at first glance she got a hold of the book, read it cover to cover, put it down and said, "You`re out of here. Get the heck out of here. I`m keeping the mansion."
But according to "People" magazine, their separation actually pre- dates even John Edwards announcement that he is the daddy. Apparently, according to "People," they had a nice quiet Christmas together for the sake of their three kids.
And then, after that, they quietly separated. But I find that to be astounding, to have a quiet separation. The dignity that this woman, Elizabeth, has shown throughout this is extraordinary. And I say hat`s off to her for having just the grace to handle this the way she has.
HAMMER: I mean, I believe in putting the kids first but there is a limit. Even after all of this, Elizabeth Edwards actually set out to meet John`s love child. This is amazing. What really happened? What`s this just a crazy idea? Do not move. We are back in just 30 seconds.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Just before John and Elizabeth Edwards announced that they were calling it quits, Elizabeth actually reached out to meet John`s love child, the daughter that John had with his mistress, Rielle Hunter.
And today we learned that Elizabeth`s sister told this to "People" magazine, Elizabeth gave it a lot of thought, wrapped up a bunch of Christmas presents, took them to the baby. I don`t know how she could do that. She just has a big heart."
HAMMER: I mean, think about this. You know, given Elizabeth`s original reaction to the idea of the love child when she was just astounded - wouldn`t really even address it. I`ve got to tell you, I was shocked to see how sensitively and warmly she reached out. Noelle, are you with me. This clearly showed so much grace and really just made John look like an even bigger fool.
NIKPOUR: You know what, A.J. I mean, she`s a bigger woman than I would be. I mean, how many women would actually embrace your husband`s mistress` baby? I mean, kudos to her for doing it. I tell you, I give it up.
HAMMER: Yes. I mean, we hear time and time again about the strength of the character of this woman. And you know, it`s undeniable with all that she has gone through and all the adversity. I wouldn`t have imagined she would have gone to see the child.
And I would have thought, Jane - stay with me on this - that that act, going to meet John`s love child might have been a signal that, you know, perhaps she was looking to work things out. But Jane, as we learned today, that clearly was not the case. Obviously, she had reached her breaking point.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I think she did it for her own children. I think she respects her children and knows that if they have a sibling or half sibling, they are going to want, at some point, to have communication with that person. And so she wanted that child to be treated with the same respect that her own kids are treated with.
And it makes - brings tears to my eyes to think of somebody having that kind of foresight and be that evolved to see the big picture and to see that this little girl is the innocent victim in all of this. And she shouldn`t grow up with the title "love child."
HAMMER: Yes.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: And so, again, I just think Elizabeth has played this perfectly and I wish her the very best in her new life.
HAMMER: And when this young girl grows up, this will be, perhaps, one of the bright spots in this sordid story. Well, John Edwards` marriage might be over, but Tiger Woods - he could be getting a second chance.
New reports today claim Elin wants to work on saving their marriage. Really? SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is asking in our question of the day - "Tiger Woods Divorce Off? Should his wife really give him a second chance?" Jane and Noelle, I need you to stick around. We`re going to get to that big breaking news in just a moment.
All right. Let me tell you, when I watched this video today, I was completely blown away. It struck me. I found it so powerful. I`m talking about Angelina`s Jolie`s startling and really personal video that she revealed to the world today.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MARCHELINE BERTRAND, MOTHER OF ANGELINA JOLIE: Here we are in Hawaii, Oahu with my daughter Angelina -
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: That is Angelina`s late mom with Angelina as a child. Wow, the resemblance. And this thing is going to break your heart.
Plus, I`ve got brand-new details. Why this Brangelina break-up could totally be ridiculous.
Hey, Hulk Hogan what are you going to when your ex, Linda, writes a brand-new tell-all book about you? Well, Hulk wrote an explosive. Now, it`s Linda`s turn. Wait until you hear what she`s going to put in this thing. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

HAMMER: James Cameron is king of the world again. His smash, "Avatar," just became the highest grossing film of all time, beating out his 1997 movie, "Titanic." But tonight, there`s a raging new "Avatar" controversy.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer. Tonight, the "Avatar" backlash. Left wing, anti-military, anti-religion - yes, there are some people who are describing James Cameron`s biggest grossing movie of all time just like that.
So is this criticism spot-on or is it just ridiculous? Here`s CNN`s Jason Carroll for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
JASON CARROLL, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): James Cameron`s "Avatar" is a billion dollar-grossing epic, taking audiences all over the world to a new world, Pandora. There`s something about these blue beings that has some critics seeing red.
RICK GRENELL, COLUMNIST: If you are a rational environmentalist with a job or a hard-working, religious American, then you should be offended by "Avatar."
CARROLL: The Internet is buzzing with bloggers saying "Avatar" is a pro- environment, anti-religious film some says pushes a liberal agenda.
ROSS DOUTHAT, "THE NEW YORK TIMES": I think the movie`s left- wing politics are pretty transparent. I think that it`s a movie in which where the bad guys are really the American military.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Every living thing that crawls, flies or squats in the mud wants to kill you and eat your eyes - the juju bees.
CARROLL: The military on Pandora are mercenaries hired by a corporation bent on mining the planet`s resources at the indigenous beings` expenses, a portrayal drawing angry reaction from the U.S. Marine`s public affairs director in a letter to the "Marine Corps Times," saying, the film "takes sophomoric shots at our military culture."
Cameron could not disagree more, his brother is a former Marine and he says he has tremendous respect for the military. He talked about "Avatar`s" meaning at his studio in November.
(on camera): What is it thematically that you are trying to accomplish here?
JAMES CAMERON, DIRECTOR, "AVATAR": I want to take people to another world. I want to take them out of their daily lives on a fantasy journey. What`s our place? What are we here for?
CARROLL (voice-over): A studio representative says critics who say the movie is pro-environment are right, but anti-religious? A Vatican newspaper says "Avatar" promotes the worship of nature over religion. The movie`s creators say the beings on Pandora are spiritual, but that doesn`t mean they are anti-religion.
DOUTHAT: If you are James Cameron and you have a movie that you are trying to sell to the widest audience possible, you`re certainly not going to say, "Oh, yes, I`ve made a movie that`s politically left wing." Maybe after it`s made $10 billion, he will say, "Yes, OK. You know, it is left wing. I admit it." But not until then.
CARROLL: For now, audiences keep coming with their own opinions.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I think it is anti-overbearing military, anti- imperialist military.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I didn`t really think there was much of an underlying message. I thought it was just a kind of a mind-blowing, visual experience more than anything.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: It certainly was that. That was CNN`s Jason Caroll for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
OK. Brangelina, are they or aren`t they? Of course, I`m talking about the brand-new reports that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are splitting up.
Well, our "Showbiz on Call" phone lines are bursting at the seams, bigger than Angelina`s lips, bigger than Brad Pitt`s new beard. Lisa calling in from New Mexico doesn`t want them to break up.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
LISA, CALLER FROM NEW MEXICO: I don`t know why everybody wants Angelina and Brad to break up. They make the most beautiful couple in the world with all of their children. Anybody who wants them to break up, boos to you, fools.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
HAMMER: All right, Lisa. Thanks for your call. You can call us at showbiz on call. Sound off on this or anything at all. The "Showbiz on Call" phone lines are open all the time at this number - 1-888-SBT-BUZZ; 1- 888-728-2899. Please, call, leave us a voicemail. We`ll play some of your calls here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
Well, tonight, I`m going to show you something incredible. It is a never-before-seen video of Angelina Jolie as a child with her late mom and it is heartbreaking.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BERTRAND: Here we are in Hawaii, Oahu, with my daughter, Angelina.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: So why did this video come out now? Plus, I`ve also got brand-new evidence that all this talk about Brad and Angie splitting up - it just could be total nonsense.
Also, watch out, Hulk Hogan. Your ex-wife is writing a shocking new tell-all book. You`ve got to hear what she`s putting into this thing.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Pants on the ground, looking like a fool with your pants on the ground. With the gold in your mouth -

HAMMER: Yes. The pants on the ground rip-off. Tonight, the unbelievable new claim that the guy who blew us all away on "American Idol" audience with this song stole it. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.
Now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news right now.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Pants on the ground. Pants on the ground. Looking like a fool with your pants on the ground. With the gold in your mouth, head turned sideways -
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Yes. That`s the guy who tried to make the cut on "American Idol" and got everybody singing his catchy song, "Pants on the Ground."
But tonight, will "Pants on the Ground" be grounded? Did the guy rip this song off? Yes, there`s brand-new controversy surrounding Gen. Larry Platt`s song. Sixty-two-year-old auditioned for "American Idol" with "Pants on the Ground," the song obviously about people looking stupid wearing baggy pants.
Now, Larry didn`t make the cut. He`s well over the 28-year-old "Idol" age limit anyway. But "Pants," of course, as we all know, took off. Well, tonight, I can tell you there`s a new tussle over the trousers. Detroit`s The Green Brothers, a rap group, says Larry`s "Pants on the Ground" is basically a rip-off of their 1996 tune, "Back Pockets on the Floor."
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Time to say no to the gangs and drugs and the dress code. Time to say no to the gangs and drugs and the dress code.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Yes. Sounds pretty close to me. Well, the Green Brothers wish Larry well. They just want people to hear their song as well. So there you go.
I bet Susan Boyle didn`t dream a dream about this - more like a nightmare. Susan was returning to her house in Scotland when she was startled by an intruder who ran past her.
Police questioned the 16-year-old and released him. Susan was unharmed. She had just come back from lending her voice to a new version of REM`s amazing song, "Everybody Hurts." It`s to benefit Haiti.
So Simon Cowell, of course, loved Susan Boyle on "Britain`s Got Talent," but there are reports there`s not much love going on between him and Ellen DeGeneres on "American Idol" already.
Check this out. All of posts we`re getting right now on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook wall with our fans taking sides.

Tonight, breaking Tiger Woods news - a possible no-divorce shocker. There are brand-new reports tonight that Tiger`s wife Elin is no longer thinking about a divorce. Wow.
Now, "People" reported today that Elin wants to give her serial cheating husband one last chance to save the marriage. This after Elin reportedly spent time with Tiger at a sex rehab clinic in Mississippi.
Also breaking tonight, a startling and absolutely breath-taking video tribute to Angelina Jolie`s late mother, including some incredible never- before-seen video of a young Angelina Jolie.
And tonight, there are also brand-new reports that all of that talk of Angelina and Brad Pitt breaking up, just a bunch of nonsense.
Joining me tonight in New York is Dr. Judy Kuriansky, who is a clinical psychologist. From Hollywood tonight, Ken Baker, who is the executive news editor for E!
All right. You`ve got to see this. It`s absolutely heart-wrenching. It`s a video that surfaced today of Angelina and her mother. Now, it was exactly three years ago today that Angelina`s mom, actress Marcheline Bertrand, died from ovarian cancer.
Now, a rep for Angelina told us today that a friend of the family put the video together and set it to the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." Take a look at this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
TEXT: One place Marcheline loved was Hawaii. She made many happy memories for her family there.
BERTRAND: Hi, everybody. Here we are in Hawaii, Oahu, with my daughter, Angelina, also known as Anna Lakalea(ph) and with my son Jamie, also known as Simi(ph). And my name in Hawaiian is Malinalina(ph).
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Wow. I`ve got to tell you. I find it so - I don`t know - it`s emotional and it`s gripping. But what also strikes me aside from the resemblance is Angelina, as we know, such an intensely private person.
Dr. Judy, let me ask you, do you think she would be bothered by this? Or do you think that perhaps, you know, maybe here we are three years later and it continues to help her with the healing process which we know has been difficult for her.
DR. JUDY KURIANSKY, CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST: Absolutely, and she has been extremely attached to her mom from the reports. And A.J., you know, something from a psychological point of view, this is the most healing thing for Angelina to put out in the public because we know from what everybody has talked about, she is isolated from a lot of friends.
People have talked about - we know about her bad relationship with her father, up and down, sometimes close. She`s had fallings-out with so many different people. She doesn`t have a solid base in her life except for her mom. And so now, with the reports about the potential split from Brad and all of problems in their relationship we`ve been hearing about, having one person, her mom, who she knows that she loved dearly and who loved her dearly who was her only rock, is what can keep her together right now.
HAMMER: Yes. I mean, that`s a really interesting theory. And I have to say, you know, we certainly have heard reports about problems in the Brad and Angie relationship. But they`re just that - they`re reports. But people have suggested what you`re saying, Dr. Judy. Ken, do you think the release of this tribute could have anything to do with those reports that these two are breaking up?
KURIANSKY: Yes. I would think so.
HAMMER: Ken?
KEN BAKER, EXECUTIVE NEWS DIRECTOR, "E!": I would say. There have been reports that Brad and Angelina are breaking up basically since they got together five years ago.
HAMMER: Yes.
BAKER: So I wouldn`t put those things together as being related. But I will say this - it was very moving to see that. And Angelina has come under a lot of criticism from people who aren`t her fans, for saying she sort of can seem robotic at times. She can seem sort of plastic, even when she`s out doing charitable efforts.
You don`t get a sense of her humanity. But I will tell you what - this was moving. Anyone who saw that and didn`t think of their own mom doesn`t have a heart. I mean, it was just a very moving - particularly, like you said, today, the third anniversary of her mom`s death. And it was just really touching.
HAMMER: Yes. And humanity is a good word to put on it. But today, there are new reports that also dismiss all the wild stories this week that Brad and Angie are getting ready to split up.
Now, as Ken mentioned, those reports have been going on for years. But really, they sort of came to a boiling point this week. They were seen visiting a big shot Hollywood attorney which sort of sparked all of these new reports.
But now, "Life and Style Weekly," reporting at the meeting, saying the meeting was to create something like pre-nup just in case one day they do split up. You know, Dr. Judy, I have to tell you, I see this as a sign, not of the two breaking up, but actually as a smart move.
I mean, think about it. They have six kids together and hundreds of millions of dollars between them.
KURIANSKY: Well, I would agree with you on that level, A.J. From a psychological point of view, I`ve been seeing this happening for a long time that they have not been getting along. And I could certainly see where this is a sign that they`re actually taking a practical step towards working out what that separation would be.
That has always been the issue, not just the money, but what are we going to do with the kids? And supposedly, now, this is a way to say Angelina might get the children. I think it`s a step towards the fact that they really are splitting up in my psychological opinion.
HAMMER: But what`s wild is, you know, you think about the lives they lead and they can`t go on with ordinary life business, like going to see a lawyer for a practical reason without it turning into something like this.
And also fueling all the rumors, neither Brad nor Angie have been showing up together at any of the big award shows. There are new reports today that they are probably not going to the Oscars together either because the reports are Angelina is going to be filming in France.
Ken, I`m thinking they do need to show up in public together soon or this is only going to get worse.
BAKER: Yes, I think that that is the case. If they do care about these rumors if they, in fact, aren`t true, that they should go out there and make a public statement and be together and hold hands and kiss like they did a little over a month ago, by the way, when they showed up to a museum opening here in L.A. when the rumors were out back then.
HAMMER: Yes.
BAKER: So I think at a certain point - here`s the bottom line. All I know is, according to the sources that I talked to, they are together a few miles from the studio right here at their home in Hollywood. They`re together physically. I don`t know where they stand spiritually or romantically. But that`s just going to play out over the next few months.
HAMMER: And of course, everybody will be cynical if they do show up together and say, "Oh, they are just putting on a show."
All right. On to the next brand-new report today that Tiger Woods` wife Elin is no longer thinking about asking for a divorce. "People" magazine reporting today that after Elin reportedly spent time with Tiger in sex rehab, she now has a different view.
She wants to save her marriage and her family. A source tells "People," "Elin wants a solid family life. She was a child of divorce and felt her dad slighted her. She absolutely does not want that to happen to Sam and Charlie so she wants to keep her family even if she and Tiger live together as friends instead of lovers."
Dr. Judy, when I think of everything he put her through, the serial cheating, the lying - I can`t imagine this is a smart move. Help me out here.
KURIANSKY: I think it can be. There are lots of women who would say, "Dump that kind of a cad." But A.J., she can have reasons to stay. I`ve seen it happen before where women decide to stay for the children and they live exactly as you said, like friends instead of like lovers.
This relationship is not, in my personal opinion, psychologically, ever going to get back to any kind of love or good sexual stance. She`s going to go through what some sex rehabs do, a kind of family week, where she`s going to hear every detail of what he did.
That`s going to stick in a woman`s mind like that and it`s going to be very tough. It is not going to only take five weeks or six weeks for this to be rehabilitated. That is going to take years of being able to even live like friends.
HAMMER: Yes. And if they want to live as more than friends, people would argue, you know what? If he did it before, he`s going to do it again. Ken Baker, Dr. Judy Kuriansky, thank you so much.

Well, tonight, Kevin Federline`s shocking depression confession and why he gained all that weight. David Arquette, friends, critics who say his wife Courtney Cox gained weight. And Hulk Hogan`s wife writing a tell- all. Here`s the "SHOWBIZ Buzz" today.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
(voice-over): K-Fed`s depression confession. Kevin Federline says his big weight gain was partly because of his divorce from Britney Spears. Federline tells "Access Hollywood" that divorce sent him into a depression that led him to overeat.
K-Fed dropped the extra weight after a stint on VH1`s "Celebrity Fit Club." K-Fed, who had two children with Britney, also reveals he`s now friendly with her.
David Arquette`s weight battle over his wife. Arquette is blasting a "New York Times" blog that speculated his wife Courtney Cox, her friend and former "Friends" co-star Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson looked heavier at the Golden Globes.
Arquette is quoted as saying, "Who really cares? I love round people. I love skinny people. We`ve got to get past labels and stop being so critical about everything."
Get ready for an explosive tell-all from Hulk Hogan`s ex-wife. Linda Bollea will reportedly tell her side of their bitter divorce and life in the Hogan family, including the traumatic car accident that sent their son, Nick, to jail.
Last year, Hulk released his own tell-all called "Life Outside the Ring."
(END VIDEOTAPE)
Well, Linda Hogan says that the Hulk won`t like what she`s going to write. What kind of dirt can we expect to hear?
Joining me tonight in New York, the lovely Carolina Bermudez who is the senior editor for "Life and Style Weekly." Also tonight from in New York, Noelle Nikpour, who is a columnist for "South Florida Sun Sentinel."
What I`m thinking - Hulk Hogan better hold onto his bandana because it sounds like his ex, Linda, is cooking up one whopper of a tell-all book about how much better life is now that she`s not married to him.
And Carolina, I`m thinking considering that Hulk called Linda, among other things, an abusive alcoholic in his tell-all, I really believe he`d better brace for the wrath of Linda here.
CAROLINA BERMUDEZ, SENIOR EDITOR, "LIFE AND STYLE WEEKLY": I don`t think he has anything to worry about if she`s writing the book by herself. Now, if she has ghost writers working with her, then that`s what he really has -
HAMMER: Why?
(CROSSTALK)
BERMUDEZ: I don`t think Linda Hogan has any credibility left. When started mugging down with her daughter`s classmate and moved him into her house, I think a lot of people looked to her and said, you know, what really did happen behind those closed doors? Was she an alcoholic?
(CROSSTALK)
HAMMER: Yes, but there was so much vitriol.
BERMUDEZ: Yes.
HAMMER: I mean, the things exchanged between these two. I don`t know. I`m kind of bracing on behalf of Hulk Hogan.
BERMUDEZ: Because he`s (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
HAMMER: Noelle, I mean, really, when you think about it noel and judging what we`ve seen in the past between these two, I have to believe that this fresh flux of spit and vinegar from Linda is going to reignite a whole new Hogan family feud. What do you think?
NIKPOUR: Yes. I mean, you know what? All she`s doing is she is exploiting once again herself and her family. Look, she went around saying that she wants to move all these negativity behind her.
Well, you know what? Writing this tell-all book is doing nothing but stirring the pot. And Ms. Linda needs to cool her jet and stop dating her boy-toy. And maybe if she calms down - maybe she might regain some credibility.
HAMMER: Yes. I completely agree with you, Noelle. But on the other hand, I`m thinking, can you blame her? Because really, how is she making money? I`m sure somebody came to her with a big fat offer, and you know, she`s got to sell books, so she`s going to put the heavy duty stuff in there.
Now, Linda says in this book, yes, she`s going to be very open and honest. She will dish on everything. But as an added bonus, and I like this part, she says the book will be, quote, "uplifting."
So Carolina, I ask you, my friend, are you ready to be uplifted by Linda? Perhaps cougar dating tips?
BERMUDEZ: Oh, yes. I couldn`t think of a better person to uplift me than Linda Hogan. I don`t really look at her as a spiritual guru, so I don`t know what kind of advice she can give us in this book.
I think, if anything, it`s going to be one of those dirty tell-alls that we`re going to love to read. It`s going to be juicy. And if you want to know what goes on in the private lives of celebrity, this is probably the best book.
HAMMER: I`m feeling a bit dirty myself right now.
BERMUDEZ: Yes.
HAMMER: Let`s just move on. We have to get to David Arquette`s fat furry. Now, we learned today that David is just furious that a "New York Times" blogger said his lovely wife, Courtney Cox, looked like she put on some weight at the Golden Globes. I just thought this was just ridiculous.
But Carolina, back to you. I`m thinking it`s kind of ridiculous that David Arquette would even have to respond to claims that his wife put on weight. I mean, come on. She looks amazing to begin with.
BERMUDEZ: She really does look amazing. And anyone who has seen "Cougar Town," her show, where she showed up in lingerie on the first episode, knows that she looks fantastic, not only for her age, but as a woman. And every woman needs a guy like David Arquette to defend her.
HAMMER: Yes.
BERMUDEZ: He came off as being classy in letting people know this is not a news issue. It`s really almost a disturbing thing for people to point that out because she really is a healthy woman.
HAMMER: But here`s my thought and Noelle, tell me if you`re with me on this. I like David Arquette a whole lot. We all know he is a little bit kooky sometimes. He`d probably be the first to admit that.
It`s almost as if he`s calling a little more attention to this, although I think he`s making a great statement saying, "You`ve got to be kidding me."
NIKPOUR: Well, you know, here`s the deal. Courtney Cox is a fox. And I think he`s taking up for her. You know, who knows what he dealt with at home? Maybe Courtney was so flabbergasted by this "New York Times" blogger that she was like, "Hey, Dave. Take up for me."
HAMMER: Well, let us move on now to K-Fed`s Britney blues, because this is certainly weight related. It`s his confession today that the reason he gained all that weight - you remember that - was because he was depressed over his divorce from Britney Spears.
What do you think, Carolina? I mean, you know, we`ve had our fun with K-Fed in the past. But I think it actually took quite a bit of courage for him to step forward and say, "Yes, you know, it really upset me and I went into depression-eating thing."
BERMUDEZ: Well, I agree. I mean, this is a text bookcase of depression. If you listen to the way that he described how he was feeling after the break-up, it is very valid, you know. And he was taking care of those little boys when Britney was having the breakdowns.
And he had to be the man in the family. So I think that that affected him. And I also think that the media had a lot to do with it.
HAMMER: Yes.
BERMUDEZ: We did make Kevin Federline a bit of a punching for a while.
HAMMER: Yes, we did. I was a part of that.
(CROSSTALK)
What do you think, Noelle? It was kind of nice seeing him man up and maybe he`s got some credibility coming back his way.
NIKPOUR: Yes. I agree with you. You know - and it takes a lot of guts, especially for a man, to sit there and talk about his depression openly and about his weight gain.
But you have to wonder, this is K-Fed. You know, is he being sincere about this? I mean, after all he`s doing his weight loss in the public eye.
BERMUDEZ: I don`t know anyone who gains weight to be on TV.
HAMMER: But here`s the thing. He also says that it seems like the whole family is getting along and I`ve got to applaud that. Carolina Bermudez, Noelle Nikpour, thank you both.
HAMMER: Well, as we move on, tonight, there`s a brand new "American Idol" smackdown going on. And no, Simon Cowell didn`t start it.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
KATY PERRY, SINGER: I thought he was good.
KARA DIOGUARDI, "AMERICAN IDOL" JUDGE: He`s not ready for it. But I don`t feel like we should ever just say yes.
PERRY: Well, don`t ever put someone through because you feel bad -
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: That is Katy Perry slamming Kara DioGuardi and she liked it. You do not want to miss this brand-new fired-up "American Idol" war of words. I`m telling you this thing got ugly, really ugly. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.
Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker." These are more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news right now.
TEXT: Jessica Simpson teams with charity to send shoes to victims of the Haiti earthquake. Anne Hathaway to announce this year`s Academy Award Nominees.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
SIMON COWELL, "AMERICAN IDOL" JUDGE: Shut up, Paula. You`re really annoying me now.
PAULA ABDUL, "AMERICAN IDOL" JUDGE: Oh, my god -
COWELL: You are. It`s like being with some precocious child.
RANDY JACKSON, "AMERICAN IDOL" JUDGE: Whoa.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Well, if thought you saw the ultimate "American Idol" smackdown when Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul used to go at it, I can tell you ain`t seen nothing yet. It is a brand-new, nasty new war of words on "American Idol" between Kara DioGuardi and Katy Perry.
Tonight, the explosive brand-new "American Idol" smackdown. Believe it or not, Simon had nothing to do with this thing. Singer Katy Perry - you know "I Kissed a Girl?" She sat in as a guest judge and quickly made herself right at home by slamming Kara DioGuardi at every turn. This has got to be one of the most fired-up feuds in "American Idol" history.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PERRY: I thought he was good.
DIOGUARDI: He`s not ready for it.
PERRY: I feel like we should just say yes.
DIOGUARDI: Well I don`t feel like we should ever just say yes. I feel bad.
PERRY: Well, don`t ever put someone through because you feel bad -
DIOGUARDI: Oh, she told me -
PERRY: Are you hot or are you cold on John? I`m going to pull a Kara right here.
DIOGUARDI: Girl, I`m really - you know what? We used to be friends. We were like cool.
(CROSSTALK)
PERRY: We are friends, girlfriend.
DIOGUARDI: What happened to girl power, girl? I kissed a dolphin and I like it.
PERRY: With that, I`ll have to throw my Coke in your face.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: All right. You know, Katy sings that song about kissing a girl. Let me tell you, I don`t think her name is Kara.
Yes, who needs Simon and Paula, right? Well, get this, Katy actually tells MTV if she were asked to be a permanent judge on "Idol," she would actually ditch her singing career to do it. It looks like Katy slammed Kara and she liked it.
Now, the countdown to the Grammys. Big news today that Mary J. Blige and Andre Bocelli are teaming up to sing a duet of Simon and Garfunkel`s "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" in a tribute to Haiti. That should prove to be amazing.
Music`s biggest night is days away. Now, the question on everybody`s minds - who`s going to walk away with the biggest awards? Well, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has teamed up exclusive with the Recording Academy for a very fired-up debate about that.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Brooke Anderson is sitting down with industry experts to break down the big four categories including the all-important album of the year category. You can catch Brooke`s four-part series on CNN.com/Showbiz, also on "Grammy.com" and then make sure you tune in to the Grammy Awards this Sunday on CBS.
So on Tuesday, we asked you to vote on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day. Just moments ago, I was handed the final results. I have them right here for you. "Paula Abdul`s Million Dollar Offer: Should she do `Dancing with the Stars`?" That`s the question.
Here are the results - 68 percent of you said yes, good idea. Thirty- two percent say Paula should not do "Dancing with the Stars."
I`ve got to say most of our E-mailers did like the idea, including Cheryl from Trinidad and Tobago. Cheryl writes, "Paula started off dancing and she was a great dancer in those days, who better than Paula to do the job?"
Adam from New Brunswick, Canada writing, "I think Paula Abdul should join `Dancing with the Stars.` It would be awesome."
I`ve got to chime in there, too. It gets my vote. Does my vote count? Yes, it counts. It does count. Thank you very much.
And thank you for watching. That is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. You can always catch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on the 11:00s - 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific, and in the morning, we`re on at 11:00 a.m. Eastern and that`s right here on HLN.
