HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.
BROOKE ANDERSON, CO-HOST: Hi there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson coming to you from Hollywood. And tonight, the Corey Haim tragedy.
HAMMER: Corey Haim - I know, I was a huge fan. In the `80s, he was a big teen idol, but in the years that followed, his life became a sad mess fuelled by his addiction to drugs.
Today, the breaking news that Corey Haim has died. Haim lived a troubled life and seemed to really become a symbol of former child stars whose lives unravel after the bright lights of Hollywood start fading. So why did he die? Could it have been prevented?
The brand new revelations coming into the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom nonstop and making for big news breaking today.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The Los Angeles Police Department is telling us today actor Corey Haim died this morning.
HAMMER (voice-over): This morning, America woke to the news that yet another icon from the 1980s is gone. Corey Haim, the teen movie heartthrob, who starred in movies like "License to Drive" and "Lucas," died at age 38 today suddenly and mysteriously.
NINA PARKER, PRODUCER, TMZ: The police are suspecting that drugs were involved. And they believe it could be an accidental overdose.
HAMMER: But others are not so sure.
MARK HEASLIP, COREY HAIM`S AGENT (through telephone): We do not think this is a drug overdose.
HAMMER: Just hours after Haim`s death, his agent, Mark Heaslip, called in to HLN. The agent said Haim`s mother was with Haim in this L.A. apartment last night when he started having trouble.
HEASLIP: Corey was running a fever yesterday. And he was running about a 99 temperature. And then, at midnight last night, Corey was walking around the bedroom, which woke his mom up and Corey collapsed.
PARKER: Police say that his mother called 911 at 12:53 in the morning. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 in the morning.
HAMMER: Today, Corey`s longtime friend and frequent co-star, Corey Feldman, is devastated by Haim`s death. In a statement to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, he said, quote, "This is tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul who will always be my brother, family, and best friend."
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Corey Haim, ladies and gentlemen. Corey Haim.
HAMMER: In this "Hollywood TV" video obtained today by SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, we see the two Coreys together and happy just three weeks ago. Marc Malkin of "E News" tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, Haim died with quite a long way to go in his effort to repair a career wrecked by addiction.
MARC MALKIN, "E NEWS": Corey is someone, you know, unfortunately, was another, you know, child star who grew up and ended up battling substance abuse problems.
HAIM: I told you, I don`t like horror comics.
HAMMER: Haim burst on the scene in the 1987 vampire flick, "The Lost Boys." It was on that movie he first bonded with his friend and frequent co-star Corey Feldman. It was also while making that film Corey Haim once said he smoked his first joint and later graduated to cocaine and crack and went in and out of rehab.
HAIM: We`ve both made our mistakes, OK. But we grew up.
HAMMER: In 2007, the two Coreys reunited for their own reality show where Haim`s drug issues were a frequent story line.
ANDERSON (on camera): How did you do it? How did you bounce back?
HAMMER: Appearing with his buddy, Corey Feldman, on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT to promote the reality show, Haim told Brooke Anderson kicking drugs was a painful process.
HAIM: I`m not saying I followed each step, like I ever followed each step. You know, there`s a point I tried. But I`m doing the best I can. And right now, it seems to be OK.
HEASLIP: He was actually doing phenomenal.
HAMMER: Speaking this morning on HLN, Haim`s agent also stressed his client was clean at the time of his death.
HEASLIP: He was on a wonderful program with his doctor, as well as an addictionologist(ph). And he was maintaining to his program.
HAMMER: Haim`s agent suggests that Haim`s death may have been a reaction to the medication he was taking as part of the doctor-assisted sobriety program. But authorities say it will be sometime before anyone knows for sure.
ED WINTER, ASSISTANT CHIEF, L.A. COUNTY CORONER: We found no illicit drugs. However, we did recover four of his prescription meds at the location. It`s currently under investigation. We don`t have a cause. There`ll be an autopsy performed and will pending the results around the toxicology.
HAMMER: But now, all we know is that there is yet another troubled star gone right as he tried to get his life back together.
MALKIN: This was a guy who wanted to save himself, who wanted to help himself many times. And unfortunately, you know, it didn`t work.

ANDERSON: And yet another tragedy of Corey`s death is that his name joins a long list of child stars who have suffered from their stardom.
Joining me tonight in New York is Jane Velez-Mitchell who is the host of "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL," which you can see every night right here on HLN. Also tonight in Hollywood is Ken Seeley who is the author of this wonderful book called "Face It and Fix It."
OK, Jane, Ken, the L.A. Coroner`s Office, as we just heard in the piece, says there was prescription medication found near his bed, but no illicit drugs. Now, Corey`s agent said today on HLN that Corey was apparently seeing an addictionologist(ph), taking medication to treat his addiction.
Jane, can you understand why a lot of people initially jumped to the conclusion that, yes, Corey must have died of a drug overdose?
JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HOST, "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL": It`s very understandable, Brooke. First of all, Corey Haim had once described himself as a chronic relapser. What is it that chronic relapsers do? They relapse.
So that`s certainly a possibility. Now, as you mentioned, his agent said he was working with an addictionologist(ph) and perhaps he had a bad reaction to meds that he was given as part of his sobriety treatment.
Well, that raises a whole bunch of questions. What kind of meds? Are those meds mood-altering? In other words, was he substituting one drug for another drug? Who is this doctor?
So I don`t think we`re going to get the answers until we get the toxicology report. But there`s a lot of controversy about treating drugs with drugs.
ANDERSON: And of course, we know the autopsy and the toxicology report - those test results will take weeks before we have anything final.
And you guys, I remember interviewing both Corey Haim and Corey Feldman back in 2007. And to be honest, I was pretty concerned about Corey Haim at the time because of his erratic behavior.
Take a look at what he said when I asked him if he saw parallels between his life and Lindsay Lohan`s when she was struggling with a reported addiction herself. Watch.

HAIM: Everybody feels differently. I don`t know what she - I`ve also removed myself for quite some time. I`ve been in Toronto, you know, on and off working whether you see me or not. Yes, but just trying to put food on the table.
ANDERSON: Do you think that`s a smart move -
HAIM: For 10 years.
ANDERSON: And that more young Hollywood stars should do that? Maybe get out of Hollywood, get out of that scene?
HAIM: I don`t know if they should get out of Hollywood. I just think they should have something to fall back on or something that they do want to do, whether they`re working or not.
COREY FELDMAN, ACTOR: You know, let me summarize this whole kind of piece - is that - I believe that -
HAIM: I`ve been gone for a decade, sweetie. I`m not - my hands on anymore. You don`t know what`s going on.

ANDERSON: He was defensive. He was pretty fidgety throughout the course of the interview. I was concerned about him.
Ken, you are an addiction specialist. When you look at that, do you see signs that he was troubled?
KEN SEELEY, AUTHOR, "FACE IT AND FIX IT": Yes, Brooke. I love what you just said, because you could even see that with only meeting him for that interview. There`s got to be people that are close to the addict that see the behaviors that are happening on a much more regular basis.
And that`s the people that need to take the action and get a professional involved, and find out what the appropriate actions are to do. You know, you can`t really blame it on the family members and the employers and the people around the addicts.
We`ve got to educate them that there are steps they can take in order to help save a loved one`s life when they are in that relapse mode that he talked about. You know, relapse -
ANDERSON: Yes, really pay close attention to the behavior. And I want to mention in that same interview, Corey Haim told me that he felt a lot of pressure because he had become essentially the CEO of his entire family. He was making the money.
And I`ve got to tell you, that seems like a running theme with many troubled former child stars. Haim`s "Lost Boys" co-star Corey Feldman did have addiction issues himself. So did "One Day at a Time`s" Mackenzie Phillips, "Different Strokes`" Gary Coleman - his troubles with the law.
Coleman`s co-star Dana Plato died at 34 of a drug overdose. "Full House" star Jodie Sweetin confessed to a meth addiction. Tracey Gold from "Growing Pains" had a number of problems herself.
The list goes on and on and on and on. And granted, they all had different issues. But Jane, you would think that there is a teen star curse or something. Is it just a coincidence?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, Brooke, you`re in Hollywood. You know it`s a tough town. It`s littered with former stars. I call it the ghost of stardom past. People treat you like you`re dead. And they go up to you and say, "Didn`t you used to be so and so?" That hurts.
ANDERSON: Yes. There is an obvious pressure that stars feel, especially if they were in the spotlight from an early age and had career ups and downs. It`s obvious. Ken Seeley, Jane Velez-Mitchell, we appreciate your time. Thank you.
HAMMER: All right. As we move on tonight, let`s talk about Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler. There is a super-sexy new photo-shoot of them revealed today. But what`s going on here? Are these guys trying to pull a fast one on us? Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT dares to ask, are Jen and Gerard faking their passion for publicity?

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with A.J. Hammer in New York.
HAMMER: All right. Brooke, we`ve been getting so many E-mails and Facebook posts - you name it. Everybody is chiming in about Farrah Fawcett getting snubbed by the Oscars.
ANDERSON: Yes, A.J. Well, tonight, the Oscar folks are saying, "I`m sorry." Also, time may be running out on "24." And Cindy Crawford`s scary blackmailer is finally locked up. It`s all making news in the buzz today.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over): Cindy Crawford`s blackmailer behind bars. A man has just been sentenced in Germany to two years in prison. Edis Kayalar, a German national, threatened to release a compromising photo of Crawford`s then seven-year-old daughter.
The picture apparently was taken when the girl was reportedly play acting and reportedly shows her tied to a chair with a gag in her mouth.
Is "24" running out of time? "Variety" has just reported that Fox will cancel "24" after this season because ratings are down and production costs are up. But the future for Jack Bauer could be on the big screen.
There are reports that "24" could become a major motion picture. The show has been on the air for eight seasons.
A Farrah Fawcett snub apology, sort of. There`s been outrage that Farrah was not included in the Oscar tribute to those who died last year. The producer of the segment says the Academy stands by its decision.
But he is apologizing to anyone who was hurt by the decision saying, quote, "There`s nothing you can say to people, particularly to family members within a day or two of the show that helps at all. They tend to be surprised and hurt and we understand that and we`re sorry for it."

HAMMER: Yes, OK. So the Academy finally apologizes, but is that enough for Farrah`s family? Joining me tonight from Atlanta, Vinnie Politan, who is a host on "In Session" on our sister network on Tru TV and a Sirius XM Satellite Radio host. In Hollywood tonight is Kim Serafin who is a senior editor for "In Touch Weekly."
I`ve got to tell you, I still think it is awful that the Academy left Farrah out of the memorial show. You just saw that the Academy apologized today saying they`re sorry that Farrah`s family was hurt, but they chose not to include her.
Vinnie, Is that apology even enough? I don`t think so.
VINNIE POLITAN, HOST, "IN SESSION": No, it`s not really an apology at all. I mean, it`s one thing, "Hey, we forgot, something got messed up." But here, they`re saying they did it on purpose and they put Michael Jackson in, that star of what? Music, right?
It makes no sense. It`s an insult. And I think there`s nothing that they can say, but that was a failed attempt at an apology.
HAMMER: Well, understandably, Farrah`s family is still absolutely furious about this today. In fact, the daughter of Farrah`s long-time love Ryan O`Neal, Oscar winner Tatum O`Neal, is slamming the Academy telling "People.com," quote, "We are deeply saddened that a truly beautiful and talented actress, Farrah Fawcett, was not included in the memorial montage. We have bereft with this exclusion."
There you have it, Kim. Farrah`s family not happy. Should the Academy do something here? I don`t know - reach out to Farrah`s family, maybe at least have her at the beginning of next year`s memorial reel?
KIM SERAFIN, SENIOR EDITOR, "IN TOUCH WEEKLY": Yes, I feel they should reach out to them. And I was thinking they do that, put her in next year`s reel. Obviously, the support that so many people out there are giving to the family should at least be some solace.
The fact that there is so much of an outcry, I think, shows how wrong they were to leave Farrah out of this, especially because a lot of people felt she was disrespected because she passed away right at the same time that Michael Jackson did and kind of lost the due of getting the covers of the papers the next day.
But I think that just all added to it. But again, the fact that so many people are noticing should be some solace to the family.
HAMMER: Yes. I really actually thought after they came out with the initial statement right after the Oscars saying that there wasn`t enough time, that they would come back with something I don`t know, a little more sensitive.
Farrah is so beloved in Hollywood. She has fans around the world. Really outrageous that she was omitted. Vinnie, some people, however, are saying, you know what? This whole thing is overblown. Quickly, do you agree?
POLITAN: No. What is the Oscars about? It`s about honoring those who have given so much. And here`s someone who did a great job on the big screen, a fantastic job on the small screen, loved by many. And you really only have one chance to say goodbye, and they blew it.
HAMMER: Such a shame. Vinnie Politan, Kim Serafin, thanks so much, guys.
ANDERSON: OK. So Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler end up on vacation together. And now, they`re in the sexy new photo spread out today. I`ve got to ask, though, are they really dating? Or are they just making all this together-stuff up for publicity?
Marie Osmond really a pro, very strong woman. Her teenage son just died, was just laid to rest and she`s back on stage. You`ve got to see her emotional return. I think this is so brave.

ANDERSON: Kevin Federline opens up to me today about his heartbreaking divorce from Britney Spears. Now, it`s not the first time K-Fed`s been on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Back in 2006, I sat down with him just days before Britney filed for divorce. Today, K-Fed looked back on that time and revealed just how he`s doing and about life after Britney.

ANDERSON (on camera): I interviewed you back in 2006. I was actually the last interview you did. It was for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. You were promoting your debut album "Playing with Fire." It was the last interview you did before Britney filed for divorce. I want to take a look at what you said about your relationship with Britney.

KEVIN FEDERLINE, BRITNEY SPEARS` EX-HUSBAND: We work together with everything. So it`s, it`s - she does what a wife does for a husband and I do what a husband does for a wife. She`s the only one that I can really go to that understands any of it.
ANDERSON: So you`re best friends, as well?
FEDERLINE: Definitely.

ANDERSON: Now, when you look back at that time, can you ever have imagined that your life would`ve changed so much from then to where you are now?
FEDERLINE: No. I never would`ve thought, you know. I mean, everything that happened was kind of a whirlwind, you know, from that point on. You know, it`s amazing to even hear myself, you know, back then and going through what I had to go through after that. It just, you know, was a shock to me.

ANDERSON: Kevin and I talked about everything. He opened up about how worried he was when Britney broke down so publicly. He talked about fatherhood, his dramatic weight loss on "Celebrity Fit Club," and whether he`ll ever get married again.

Corey hadn`t done many movies recently. All his movies in the `80s really touched a lot of people. Take a look at all these posts that were coming in and they still are.
Here`s one from Chad A., "Another Hollywood tragedy. Corey is my age and he was too young. I enjoyed all of his movies. He was a very gifted actor."
Larissa M. adding, "Very sad news, but even sadder is the fact that I`m not surprised."

HAMMER: Yes. Brooke, you know, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT got an advance copy today of a brand-new and very revealing photo spread showing Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler in the new issue of "W" magazine. And it made for big news breaking today.
Jen and Gerard`s cozy photo spread has sparked a boatload of questions today. Are Gerard and Jen really a hot and heavy couple? Or is this just another publicity stunt to promote their new movie?
Speaking of publicity stunts, Lindsay Lohan`s mom, Dina, on a brand- new rampage today over Lindsay`s milkaholic madness.
Dina came out swinging today after Lindsay filed a whopping $100 million lawsuit against e-Trade for their Super Bowl commercial which featured talking babies. And momma Dina is slamming e-Trade for portraying their daughter as a boyfriend-stealing milkaholic baby.
And the winner of Howard Stern`s Tiger Woods` mistress beauty contest. Somebody took home the $75,000 prize today after exposing a whole bunch of personal information about Tiger. So which alleged mistress got the booby prize, so to speak?

Got to begin with the brand new super-hot photo spread we got today in the April issue of "W" magazine of Jennifer Aniston and her "Bounty Hunter" co-star Gerard Butler. Guys, get this - they were photographed by the exact same celebrity photographer who shot Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie`s now-infamous steamy photo spread in the same magazine - you remember that five years ago.
You know, a lot of people saw that photo as Brad and Angelina`s big coming out as a couple. Vinnie, do you think the same thing is going on here. Is this real passion or are we seeing a real publicity stunt?
POLITAN: Are you telling me, A.J., that they posed for this picture? I thought this was a paparazzi shot, because it looks a lot like my wife and me on our first date. (INAUDIBLE) no. It`s all publicity. Come on. Let`s be honest here. It`s all about selling tickets to the movies.
HAMMER: Yes. This is what goes on. New movie`s coming out. People do photo spreads like this and let people think what they`re going to think.
Now, this is what people think. We posted the cover of "W" magazine on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook page today. We were overwhelmed. I mean it virtually shut the Internet down. Look at what Stephanie F. wrote on our wall, "Publicity. She does it for every movie."
We heard this from Rhianna T. writing, "Either way, it`s a great picture and they look fabulous." That`s true. "If we`re talking about them, we`re thinking about them. Isn`t that the point?"
Very smart. Kim, you`ve seen this going on in Hollywood for years. What do you think? Passion or publicity?
SERAFIN: Yes, I mean, this goes on all the time recently, you know, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. For decades, people have been doing this. And I`ve always thought that we, the public and the media, care a lot more about Jen and Brad than Jen cares about the good old days of Jen and Brad.
But I think she embraces it when it`s something that could help her promote a movie. So people will make those comparisons. People go see the movie, buy tickets. And I`m sure she`s happy with it.

All right. Let`s move it along, the brand new outrage today from Lindsay Lohan`s mom, Dina. This is over an e-Trade commercial. Now, Lindsay just filed a $100 million lawsuit. She`s claiming that the commercial mocks her, uses her name, and suggests that she`s a milkaholic. Watch this.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Sorry about last night.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It`s just I don`t understand why you don`t call.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Well, I was on e-Trade, you know, diversifying my portfolio, taking control like a wolf.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: And that milkaholic Lindsay wasn`t over?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Lindsay?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Milka-what?

HAMMER: All right. Well, in the new interview out today, Dina Lohan tells the "New York Post" that Lindsay called her after seeing this commercial for the very first time during the Super Bowl. Brooke, what exactly did Dina say?
ANDERSON: Oh, A.J. Dina had a lot to say, claiming that Lindsay called her sobbing uncontrollably and said, "Mommy, help me. This is wrong. How can they do this?"
Well, Dina also slammed e-Trade saying, "They`re little babies doing this mocking another child who is just trying to survive Hollywood, basically." And that the $100 million lawsuit, Dina said today, "I`m just basically glad I took a stand. I`m not going to let them do this to us anymore. Everyone knows Lindsay like Cher or Madonna."
HAMMER: I`m confused here. I`ve got to tell you, I don`t quite understand this. Brooke, this is completely ridiculous, right? I`m not missing anything, am I?
ANDERSON: No, no. Or else we`re al missing something because I think it`s pretty darn laughable. Lindsay does not have the same one-name recognition that Cher, Madonna or Oprah have.
And nobody made the connection or the association when they watched that commercial initially. But now, when people watch it, they might think Lindsay Lohan and think something about addiction.
Who knows? She`s either desperate for attention and money or she just has a deluded sense of her level of celebrity. Kim, what say you?
SERAFIN: You know, on one hand, I sympathize with her a little because, of course, she has this probably - you know, hyper-paranoia because we do talk about her a lot and accuse her of things that she doesn`t actually do.
But, yes, it`s not like Lindsay - Oprah, Lindsay - Bono. And the commercial, by the way, didn`t say, "Was that actress/leggings designer/self-tanner company owner there? And she`s also milkaholic."
You know, I wouldn`t have put two and two together. And we talk about her all the time. So if anyone would notice that, it would be me or you guys and we didn`t.
ANDERSON: And being a milkaholic - that wouldn`t be a bad thing. It isn`t a bad thing.
All right. Now, we`ve got to move on to Howard Stern`s Tiger Woods` mistress beauty contest winner today. Howard held a pageant, if you want to call it that, featuring some of the women who have claimed to have had affairs with Tiger Woods.
Today, he announced the home-wrecking winner of the contest. Drum roll please. We`re revealing the winner with this dubious distinction and it goes to Jamie Jungers - took home the $75,000 prize.
Her competition included Jamie Grubs, Laura Donna Jolie. At the press conference today, Howard said he felt that Jamie was the true mistress.
Vinnie, I just can`t help but think that this woman might as well wear a scarlet letter on her dress for the rest of her life. What a distinction.
POLITAN: Well, you know, it`s money. It`s $75,000. We`re talking about it. She`s in the entertainment field. So why not? And remember -
ANDERSON: Come on.
POLITAN: Let`s go back -
ANDERSON: Vinnie, are you contending there -
POLITAN: Wait a minute. Who chose her? Tiger chose her and now, Howard chose her. You know, she didn`t put herself into this position. Tiger did because he chose her.
He was married and he had an affair. There she is. He knew what he was getting into. She is who she is. And we have to celebrate it. Congratulations.
ANDERSON: So they chose her. What an honor. Kim, what do you think?
POLITAN: Bravo -
SERAFIN: Yes. Congratulations, as well. That`s exactly what I was thinking. You know, I guess there`s some rumors now. There`s reports that Tiger and Elin are really getting back together. They`ve been spotted together a lot.
So I guess these women have to really get those 15 minutes of fame. It`s not going to be there much longer if Tiger and Elin get back together. I don`t know. I thought this story was kind of over, but I guess it`s not. People are still interested and congratulations.
ANDERSON: Vinnie, are these women going to keep trying to extend their 15 minutes of fame with things like this?
POLITAN: Yes. Yes, of course they will.
ANDERSON: How many beauty pageants can they do?
POLITAN: They`re in this business of ours, this thing of ours. They want to be in the headlines. They want to be on television. They want to be heard. They want to be seen. They want to be stars. And at the end of the day, they want to get paid.
ANDERSON: Well, she absolutely (INAUDIBLE).
POLITAN: That`s America.

ANDERSON: Paris Hilton banned in Brazil. Did you see this? Paris` racy beer ad is yanked from Brazilian TV, in the country that gave us the world`s tiniest bikini.
There was outrage over Paris being too darn sexy in the commercial. Some Brazilians were also ticked claiming Paris` ad gave blonds a bad name. Not the first time that`s happened.
HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. And tonight, Kate Gosselin strikes back at all her critics who say that Kate should not be a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars."
ANDERSON: Yes, A.J. In an exclusive interview just today in the new issue of "People" magazine, Kate Gosselin is basically saying, "Hey, guys, come on. Take a chill pill. I`m not neglecting my kids." As a matter of fact, take a look for yourself. Kate asks, why can`t a mom have fun?
Joining me tonight from New York is Kate Coyne who is a senior editor for "People" magazine and wrote the cover story. And joining me in Hollywood tonight is Leslie Marshall who is a talk radio host of "The Leslie Marshall Show."
OK, ladies. Kate Gosselin, making it clear in this new interview that she is not a bad mom for strutting her stuff on the dance floor and not staying in Pennsylvania when the show is taped here in L.A., but that she`s not a bad person for not being there to take care of her kids during those tapings.
Gosselin tells "People" magazine, quote, "All the other lies people want to tell, that`s one thing. But these kind of lies about the kind of mother I am, they need to stop. I`m tired of it. I`m tired of defending myself. Stop attacking me."
I`ve got to tell you, I think people are being really unfair to Kate because she`s striving to be the best mother she can be. She always says family comes first. Kate, you actually did the interview with Gosselin. Was she just livid that her critics were calling her a bad mom by going on "Dancing with the Stars?"
KATE COYNE, SENIOR EDITOR, "PEOPLE" MAGAZINE: She was pretty fired up. I mean, it`s pretty clear that she`s just had it, you know. She`s really sick and tired of this sort of treatment. You know, the last time I checked, at least, there aren`t that many TV studios in Wernersville, Pennsylvania.
So if she`s going to have a career as a TV personality, she`s going to have to travel. And it doesn`t make her a terrible mother.
ANDERSON: Yes. And she`s striving to strike a balance where she will be home for her kids. She rehearses at home, a dance floor in the basement.
And she also wants to make one other thing perfectly clear. She`s not going on "Dancing with the Stars" to gain fame. She`s doing it to provide for her family.
Here`s what she says in the new issue of "People" out today, "It`s not about an obsession with fame. It`s about doing what provides for my family, period. If I was financially able to provide for eight kids on my former salary as a nurse, I would do it."
Kate went on to say, "I cannot rely on the fact that Jon will be there to help support the kids. So I approach it as if I am the sole provider." Kate obviously worried about providing for her eight kids. That`s an understandable concern.
So Leslie, what about the argument that somehow there`s something wrong with what she`s doing?
LESLIE MARSHALL, HOST, "THE LESLIE MARSHALL SHOW": You know, I`m not the biggest Kate Gosselin fan. However, I`m a mom who works. And whether you`re a single mom or not, you can`t be with your kids 24/7 if you work. And you feel guilty. You know how that is.
ANDERSON: Of course.
MARSHALL: And you need to make a living. I understand the critics are, "Hey, look, all you keep saying is your family comes first and you have eight children and you`re all the way in L.A." But most of us don`t work from home. And even if we do, we`re not with the kids when we`re working.
So I think people are being a bit tough on her. But she has put herself out there, so she`s got to toughen up in that respect just a bit.
ANDERSON: Yes, that`s true. I do have the mommy guilt, too, Leslie. Kate Gosselin`s got the mommy guilt times eight, so I`m sure it is very difficult for her.
Moving now to another story breaking involving another very famous mom. Marie Osmond just took the stage in Las Vegas for the very first time since her 18-year-old son committed suicide and just one day after his funeral.
It was an emotional night for Marie. She choked back tears while she performed with her brother, Donny Osmond. Take a look at this touching moment when Donny applauds his sister`s decision to get back on the stage.

DONNY OSMOND, SINGER: I just think we all need to give a big round of applause for my sister for even coming on stage tonight.

ANDERSON: That is one strong momma right there to be able to take the stage one day after her son`s funeral. Kate, you have covered Marie Osmond for years. Are you surprised that she returned so soon? Or do you think that she needs this distraction during the grieving?
COYNE: I`m not at all surprised, frankly. Marie comes from a family of entertainers that have it practically tattooed into their DNA that the show must go on. It`s the way that she has always functioned. It`s the way her family has always functioned.
And I think it`s what she knows. What she knows is performing and getting out there. It probably felt almost like a relief to her to be able to go back to something that felt a little bit normal after all the chaos that she`s endured over the last few weeks.
ANDERSON: A little bit comfortable. And Leslie, they`re a tight-knit group, a tight-knit family. Quickly, they`re going to be able to help her and help each other through this tough time.
MARSHALL: Absolutely. And also, drawing from their faith and the Mormon community. You know, some people sit on a couch and some people get back out there. I`ve been in that situation and I wish I had gone to work sooner.
I think it`s very healthy and it`s obviously what she needs to do. And her family - her brother just showed that they`re supporting her.
ANDERSON: Yes. Our thoughts are with them. Leslie Marshall, Kate Coyne, thank you both.

MOOS: Lori Mason`s fiance, Daniel, is a chef at their New York City restaurant, Klee Brasserie. So when their freezer at home started to overflow with Lori`s extra breast milk -
DANIEL ANGERER, CHEF, KLEE BRASSERIE: What are we going to do with it, you know? And I look at her, why don`t we make some cheese.
MOOS: Now, maybe you think that`s better left to cows, but human breast milk is super-healthy for babies.
MASON: This is the most precious thing in the world to you. And so if your baby is eating it, why in the world would you not?
MOOS (on camera): And I have to say, you look much cleaner than a cow.
MASON: Why, thank you.
MOOS (voice-over): At least Lori is not out dragging herself through the mud and manure.
MASON: I am free range. I`m organic.
MOOS: Daniel`s recipe for breast milk cheese -
ANGERER: It`s tricky.
MOOS: Ended up on his blog, and next thing you know -
KELLY RIPA, TV PERSONALITY: Guess what we have right here, Andy.
MOOS: Oh, go ahead and groan. Sure there`s a yuck-factor.
MASON: Oh, it is a bodily fluid. Or, oh, it`s a form of cannibalism.
MOOS: Someone actually E-mailed that, saying, "This is beyond disgusting." But Kelly Ripa managed to get it down.
KELLY RIPA, CO-HOST, "LIVE WITH REGIS AND KELLY": Tastes like chicken.
MOOS: And with the cheese resting on brioche with a pickle and paprika -
(on camera): There is no yuck factor.
(voice-over): It tasted like cheese.
ANGERER: You`re going for seconds?
MOOS (on camera): I`m going for seconds of that.
(voice-over): Though the cheese eaten alone had a gross consistency. But there are worse things you could do with breast milk. Take the Kentucky woman arrested the other day for being intoxicated who allegedly squirted a female deputy in the face. But we digress from cheese -
(on camera): You know, you`re not the first to do this. Borat.
SASHA BARON COHEN, ACTOR, (as Borat): My wife - she made this cheese.
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Very nice.
COHEN: She made it from milk from her (EXPLETIVE DELETED).
MOOS (voice-over): By the way, the New York City Health Department says, "The restaurant knows the cheese made from breast milk is not for public consumption. And any experiments with it as a food ingredient are best left for the home."
PETA once suggested that Ben and Jerry should make ice cream out of human breast milk. That led to jokes -

MASON: What do you have to say about all this?
