(MUSIC PLAYING)
HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.
BROOKE ANDERSON, CO-HOST: Hi there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - Oprah strikes back.
Yes, Brooke, for the very first time today, there are extraordinary responses from Oprah Winfrey about everything, from a supposed tell-all book about her to a man who insists that he`s Oprah`s father. What makes this so extraordinary is that, you know, when it comes to claims about her personal life, Oprah almost never responds.
But SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can now reveal that all the evidence we dug up today clearly points to one thing. Oprah is mad as - you know what. And she`s not going to take it anymore.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over): She`s as cool as a cucumber, ridiculously rich cucumber. But even billionaire media superstars have their limits.
And today, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you a new unauthorized biography full of Oprah dirt and wild claims from someone claiming to be Oprah`s father have the queen of daytime TV doing something she rarely does - striking back.
OPRAH WINFREY, HOST, "OPRAH WINFREY SHOW": She`s always, always, always been there for me.
HAMMER: Last night, in New York City, Oprah spoke at an event honoring her long-time friend, Gayle King. During her speech, Oprah took a dig at celebrity biographer Kitty Kelley`s new book, "Oprah: A Biography."
WINFREY: Last week was a rough week for Gayle when a so-called biography came out.
HAMMER: A so-called biography. Ouch. It was the first time Oprah has even mentioned Kitty Kelley`s book.
KEN BAKER, EXECUTIVE NEWS EDITOR, "E!": Normally, Oprah will ignore things she wants to go away. Clearly, by calling it a "so-called biography," she is denigrating it.
HAMMER: Ken Baker of "E! News" tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT the normally calm Oprah is clearly annoyed by Kitty Kelley`s book.
BAKER: It discloses things about her maybe using drugs in the past, about affairs that she`s had with different men and things about her relationship with all of her family members and people who she works with. It`s a lot of stuff that Oprah probably would rather not have out there.
HAMMER: One of the touchiest topics Kelley covers involves Oprah`s father. Oprah considers her mother`s long-time boyfriend, Vernon Winfrey, her father. But Kelley tells CNN`s "RELIABLE SOURCES" she found out something else while researching her book.
KITTY KELLEY, CELEBRITY BIOGRAPHER: When I went to interview her aunt Katherine in Kosciusko, Mississippi, I had no idea that Vernon Winfrey is not her biological father.
HAMMER: Kelley does not reveal who she says is Oprah`s biological father. But today`s "New York Post" reports an 84-year-old Navy vet from Oprah`s Mississippi hometown is claiming to be Oprah`s real dad.
"The Post" said that when it asked Oprah about the man`s claim yesterday, she responded, quote, "I have never heard of him. I know who is claiming to be my real father."
And "The Post" says when asked if she would take a DNA test, Oprah responded, "I will not be taking a paternity test, ever."
WINFREY: All of my new daddies that are now showing up.
(LAUGHTER)
HAMMER: At last night`s awards ceremony, Oprah made light of the father issue.
WINFREY: New daddies saying, "Hello, daughter. Call me, I need a new roof."
(LAUGHTER)
Well, this, too, shall pass.
BAKER: Clearly, Oprah`s comments suggest to me that she`s trying to make light of something that really is a very dark subject for her. But you can tell that it really does deep down inside bother her.
GAYLE KING, OPRAH WINFREY`S BEST FRIEND: I`m thinking it`s not going to make her book club selection.
HAMMER: On "Good Morning America" last week, Gayle King seemed dismissive of the Oprah biography.
G. KING: Oprah has been so forthcoming about there life, warts and all. All the things that have happened to her, all the things that she`s done, the mistakes that she`s made. I think that, you know, it`s not that she`s tried to hide anything. So, we shall see.
HAMMER: But through all of their veiled and not-so-veiled shots at the book, Oprah and her people have yet to outright deny any of its claims.
WINFREY: A so-called biography.
HAMMER: "E`s" executive news editor, Ken Baker, tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that Oprah`s words may not be able to kill the buzz over this juicy biography.
BAKER: The fact Oprah really is coming out in a really big way and criticizing it means that she really wants this thing to go away. But by her talking about it, it almost does the opposite.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: Yes. I mean, here`s the thing. I`ve got to ask could speaking out actually backfire on Oprah and cause even more interest what Oprah herself labels a "so-called" tell-all book?
Right now, in New York, Sunny Hostin, from "In Session" on our sister network, Tru TV. In Hollywood, it`s Leslie Marshall, host of the fabulous syndicated radio program, "The Leslie Marshall Show."
I`ve got to tell you, whether or not Oprah likes it, "Oprah: A Biography" is top on the bestseller list in bookstores and online. Take a look at this. Just this afternoon, number one at Barnes and Noble, number two at Borders today. It`s number 15 at "Amazon.com" today. I`m thinking, Sunny, that Oprah is actually adding more fuel to the fire here by even mentioning the book.
SUNNY HOSTIN, LEGAL CONTRIBUTOR, "IN SESSION": I don`t know, A.J. I really think that maybe she is extinguishing some book sales by talking about it, because everyone loves Oprah. I have a girl crush on Oprah. Everyone loves her. And she really has this Teflon image.
And I don`t think anything she does is really going to tarnish that or make people love her any less. So when she says "This is a so-called biography," I think a lot of people will then not buy it.
HAMMER: Yes. But then, you got the people kind of hanging in the wings. And Leslie, you know when Oprah mentions anything, good or bad, it does generate interest. I have a feeling, again, by virtue of the fact that she responded when normally she doesn`t, she`s probably going to drive some sales here.
LESLIE MARSHALL, HOST, "THE LESLIE MARSHALL SHOW": Well, I have to say I think a lot of people, even though they love Oprah, whether they believe what`s in the book or not, obviously, the numbers are showing they are buying the book.
We love dirt even if it might not be true. And speaking of, there`s been no lawsuit and there`s been no denial, so maybe some of the stuff is true. And certainly, that`s a huge barometer when it comes to Kitty Kelley books, I think.
HAMMER: Yes. And of course, you have this matter of this guy who claims that he`s Oprah`s biological father. I`ve got to tell you, for one, I can`t blame Oprah if she has no interest taking a paternity test, talking about any paternity issues.
I`m sure this is something that she would have dealt with this in her past if she really wanted to. Sunny, can you see any reason why she should go ahead and do a DNA test?
HOSTIN: Well, I`m not sure. I mean, Oprah lives about her truth and she`s advising people to live their truth. I think someone like Oprah already knows who her biological father.
If she doesn`t know, then her team Oprah can investigate and find out. She can speak to her mother about it. I think she probably already knows. So, what would be the point of taking a DNA test? And she has said, "I`m not going to take one."
HAMMER: Yes. And she does, as you say, put it all out there. So it is a little surprising that if this was something that she had any interest in, then she would have already dealt with it.
Well, our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook fans are really riled up about this today over whether or not Oprah should take a DNA test.
Look at this. Trudy G. writing on our wall why she can relate to Oprah`s dilemma, "I met my biological father when I was 37 and it was a piece of the puzzle called my life. However, I do not have contact with him."
Again, I don`t think Oprah should run right out, get a DNA test just because this guy is out there spreading it around. But Leslie, let me get your take. As an adoptive mom, would it shock you if Oprah did?
MARSHALL: No, it wouldn`t, because I think just like that person just wrote, there are sometimes pieces of the puzzle or answers to those questions that only a DNA test can answer.
However, anyone can father a child, A.J. But to be a father to a child is a whole different thing. You can test my DNA and my son`s and we`re not going to match. But I`m his mom and if you ask him, I`m the only mom he has and hopefully, the only mom he ever wants to know.
HAMMER: Yes. That`s a terrific point. And Oprah has made it clear that the man who she acknowledges as her father, the long-time boyfriend of her mother, is her father. And if that`s what she says, that`s good enough for Oprah. It`s got to be good enough for everybody else.
HOSTIN: Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. And I completely agree. This is the man whose name she has. And this is the man who she says is "my father." Who are we to challenge that?
Again, this is Oprah. We all love her. I love her, I know that. But you know, I don`t think we should challenge that.
HAMMER: Are you with me? She has shut down this conversation for good?
HOSTIN: Yes.
HAMMER: Because she was pretty adamant when she said, "I will never take a paternity test," and that`s it. I think game over right there.
HOSTIN: Absolutely.
HAMMER: Sunny Hostin, Leslie Marshall, thanks, guys.
ANDERSON: A.J., more big Oprah news today. The Octomom goes on Oprah`s show. And get this - we discover the startling new connection between the Octomom and Kate Gosselin. And it`s not that they both need to buy Costco- size bottles of apple juice.
And startling news that somebody wants Sandra Bullock to give back a major award. Oh, no, they didn`t. The nerve.
And it`s time to play name that volcano. No, it`s not a brand-new TV show, at least not yet. Why can`t anybody seem to pronounce the name of that ash-spewing volcano?
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JEANNE MOOS, CNN CORRESPONDENT: While it spewed ashes, newscasters spewed a molten lava of syllables.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It`s Eyjafjallajokull.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Eyjafjallajokull.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: That`s it?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
HAMMER: And now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - these are more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.
TEXT: Miley Cyrus unable to make London premiere of "The Last Song" due to Iceland volcano. Valerie Bertinelli "euphoric" after finishing Boston marathon in five hours, 14 minutes.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Are you talking to me? Who the hell else are you talking to? Talking to me?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Now, you can talk to this taxi driver and have some coffee with Robert De Niro, too. You`ve just got to pony up some cash.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with A.J. Hammer in New York.
HAMMER: Yes, Brooke. This is pretty cool. A star-studded new auction can win you some quality time with your favorite celebrity. You can bid on coffee with Bobby De Niro and get a couple of passes to next year`s Tribeca Film Festival if you win that auction.
Right now, I was checking. The bidding is at around $6,000. And if Bobby De Niro is not your cup of tea or coffee in this case, you can cough up around $11,000 to meet Oprah. Just don`t ask her if she is taking a DNA test. The money goes to a good cause, the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice.
ANDERSON: Hey, did you see this? Hollywood`s playing the game of name that volcano. Now, it sounds like a brand-new reality show, I know. But in reality, that Icelandic volcano that has been spewing ash all over the place has been a real headache. On top of that, nobody seems to know how to pronounce the name of the darn thing.
Here`s CNN`s Jeanne Moos for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
MOOS (voice-over): While it spewed ashes, newscasters spewed a molten lava of syllables.
DON LEMON, CNN ANCHOR: Eyjafjallajokull.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Eyjafjallajokull.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It`s Eyjafjallajokull.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Eyjafjallajokull.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: That`s it?
MOOS: It`s a name so unpronounceable, we can`t even tell when someone says it right.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: And I`m not going to get this name right, but it`s Eyjafjallajokull.
MOOS: Most of us are so terrified of its 16 letters. We avoid any mention of the name.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: And the volcano.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: That volcano.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: From that volcano, whose name nobody can pronounce.
MOOS: "Saturday Night Live" caught onto the way the press is suffering from "volcanic naming avoidance syndrome."
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Like huge clouds of ash shot into air by Iceland`s - I hope I`m saying this right - volcano.
MOOS: The real networks are trotting out Icelandic interpreters.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: The pronunciation is Eyjafjallajokull.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Oh.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: OK.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Oh, yes.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, this is (INAUDIBLE).
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Now, I get it.
AL ROKER: The glacier is called Eyjafjallajokull. Am I pronouncing that correctly?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Nearly.
ROKER: Nearly?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Nearly.
ROKER: How do I pronounce it?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, jeez. It looks like we have lost Al.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You see, that`s what happens when you try and pronounce the name of that volcano.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Exactly.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He might have said something dirty.
MOOS: Even showing folks the name doesn`t necessarily help.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Eyjafjallajokull.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Jolijala (ph). Jopu. I don`t know.
MOOS (on camera): All together, now.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, my God.
MOOS (voice-over): It`s time to go up to Iceland to get schooled by the natives.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Eyja means island. Fjalla means mountain and jokull means glacier.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: An easy name to say. Eyjafjallajokull.
MOOS: Yes, well, what English words trip them up?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Pneumonia. Or how do you spell it? Panommia(ph)?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: To have the same as tired, being weary or something. I cannot say it. I`ve been practicing for 60 years.
MOOS: Then we have 60 years to learn this.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It`s pronounced similar to "yo," I forgot the La Yogurt.
MOOS (on camera): I like the La Yogurt part.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The La Yogurt is kind of close.
MOOS (voice-over): The U.S. military has figured out a way around pronouncing it.
BARBARA STARR, PENTAGON CORRESPONDENT: Operation E15. E for the first letter of the volcano, 15 for the 15 letters following that.
MOOS: And so has this lady.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: So we`re just going to call it Bob.
MOOS: If you can`t say it, make like this opera singer and sing it.
(SINGING)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: What?
(END VIDEOTAPE)
ANDERSON: That was CNN`s Jeanne Moos for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. So we here at SHOWBIZ TONIGHT have decided to put our own twist on the name of the volcano. We are calling it aya-ya-loveshowbiz.
HAMMER: Who came up with that? All right, Brooke. Let`s move on. Here`s a sign of the times. People may not know the name of that volcano but a lot of people can name Tiger Woods and Jesse James` alleged mistresses. Our "Showbiz on Call" phone lines are literally erupting today. Should these mistresses get a reality show?
ANDERSON: A.J., Diane calling from Missouri says no way.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
CALLER: People in this world do not want to see these alleged mistresses of these people. You know, they did their job. They got paid for what they did. We don`t want to see their faces on TV. We`ve heard enough about these people and all they are money seekers out trying to find a fast buck.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Thank you, Diane.
HAMMER: We also heard from Heather who thinks there is a double standard going on here.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
CALLER: We`re not condoning the acts of the women, but why is it OK for Tiger to go back and make all of these millions of dollars? But everybody scrutinizes women for making money off of what they did. I don`t think there is any difference. I think it is both wrong.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
HAMMER: Thanks, Heather. Call us at "Showbiz on Call" to sound off on this or anything else at all.
ANDERSON: And the "Showbiz on Call" phone lines are open 24/7. Mark this down, the number - 1-888-SBT-BUZZ. Call us at 1-888-728-2899. Simply leave a message. We will play some of your calls right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
HAMMER: Lindsay Lohan striking back today. Yes, she is slamming Dr. Drew, the guy from "Celebrity Rehab," because Dr. Drew wants her arrested and locked up.
Kim`s Kitty controversy. Kim Kardashian under fire today for this picture. Check this out sand the way she is holding this cat.
And does Simon Cowell really know what Paula Abdul is up to? I mean, we`ve heard she`s doing "Dancing with the Stars," she`s coming back to "American Idol," working as a spy. You name it, we`ve heard it. But now, Simon says he`s got the answer. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.
TEXT: Fox renews "Cops" for a 23rd season, series will soon celebrate its 800th episode. The final "Twilight: Eclipse" trailer to premiere on "Oprah" on April 23rd.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Thank you, Charles. I didn`t if that is what`s called. We want to know, what`s the deal with Paula Abdul? You know, we`ve heard she is doing Simon Cowell`s new show, "X Factor." Maybe she`ll show up on "Dancing with the Stars." She`s coming back to "Idol," running for president. I mean, we have heard it all.
Well, today, I can tell you Simon Cowell does know what Paula is up to. CNN`s Larry King had the entire "Idol" crew on, Simon, Randy, Kara, Ellen and Ryan. And Larry asked Simon if Paula would come back to the show when he leaves.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LARRY KING, HOST, "LARRY KING LIVE": Will she come back?
SIMON COWELL, "AMERICAN IDOL" JUDGE: No, I don`t think she will.
L. KING: Because she wouldn`t be asked or she wouldn`t accept?
COWELL: I think she`s moved on. And you know, I know a few things, what Paula`s up to and you`ll hear something very soon.
L. KING: How about now?
COWELL: It`s not my business to say it. It`s her business.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: We really didn`t get it. That secret about what Paula`s up to - it`s like it`s closely guarded as the recipe to my grandmother`s famous matzo ball soup.
ANDERSON: And that`s closely guarded. All right. A fired-up battle going on right now on the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook page.
"Celebrity Rehab," Dr. Drew Pinsky saying that it if he were Lindsay Lohan`s dad, he would set her up to get arrested, thrown into jail, then forced into rehab.
Megan P. thinks that`s a good idea, "Lindsay used to be such a great actress. Now, she`s let fame get the best of her. It seems as if she doesn`t even care. What a shame."
But Sarina L. thinks this would be a bad move, "Honestly, does anyone really think such a drastic measure would accomplish anything, except irritating Lindsay? She chooses not to seek help for herself."

ANDERSON: And now, the SHOWBIZ lineup. Here is what`s coming up at the bottom of the hour on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
Octumom, Nadya Suleman, goes on "Oprah" today. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT discovers the remarkable connection between Octomom and Kate Gosselin.
Hey, Sandy, can you give us back that award? Who is asking Sandra Bullock to give back a major award today? We`ve got that stunning answer.
And the incredible, emotional apology to Oscar winner Mo`Nique. Her own brother says he is sorry for sexually abusing her. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
HAMMER: And now, it`s the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.
TEXT: HBO`s "Curb Your Enthusiasm" renewed for an eighth season. Michael Douglas` son, Cameron, sentenced to five years in prison for drug dealing.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Now, on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, the great Octomom and Kate Gosselin connection discovered today. They`re both famous for having lots of kids. They are both huge reality TV stars. Kate or the Octomom - who is handling life in the spotlight better?
Lindsay strikes back. Lindsay Lohan`s new slam today against the "Celebrity Rehab" doctor who wants her arrested and locked up.
Startling news today that someone wants Sandra Bullock to give back a major award. What the heck is that about?
Plus, more stories breaking from the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker."
ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.
(MUSIC PLAYING)
HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.
ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today, the shocking Octomom-Kate Gosselin connection.
They`re both controversial moms. They`ve both used fame for money. But today, in a brand new jaw-dropping interview with Oprah Winfrey, Octomom Nadya Suleman reveals she has more in common with Kate with her eight than you might think.
Octumom opened up to Oprah today about her desperate day-to-day life with her 14 kids and why she says she would never exploit her children for money. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT reveals why Octomom and Kate might actually have more in common than even they know.
With me right now from New York is Sunny Hostin, who is a legal contributor for "In Session" on our sister network, Tru TV. Also right now in Hollywood, Shannon Fox who is an author and psychotherapist.
Sunny, Shannon, I`ve got to say I watched Octomom on "Oprah" today and couldn`t help but notice the amazing parallels between her and Kate Gosselin. Watch as the Octomom tells Oprah about her regrets posing for "Star" magazine in a bikini for $100,000.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
NADYA SULEMAN, OCTOMOM: Yes, I`ve done things in the media. I was so - I was not only not proud of, I was ashamed of. I would do, like, something to provide for the kids, like I did the photo shoot in January. That was a hundred - I`m being completely honest, that was $100,000. We have another month of it and then we have nothing left.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: She said she has to provide for her kids using the media. Kate Gosselin says that`s why she is doing "Dancing with the Stars" and two new upcoming reality shows. So, Sunny Hostin, in a way, you can`t blame them.
HOSTIN: You know, in a way, you can`t. And I`ve been really struggling with this because I was sort of on team Kate thinking that, you know, she`s had to provide for her children.
And really, Nadya, Octomom, is doing the same thing. So who are we to judge what she needs to do? I think we are all judging the fact she decided to have 14 children.
ANDERSON: Yes.
HOSTIN: But now that they are here, then you do have to provide for them.
ANDERSON: Yes. Nadya was beyond irresponsible for having 14 children. No question about that. But you know, she made the choice and we can`t harp on her poor choices. She does have to move forward today.
And when I heard what the Octomom told Oprah, I couldn`t help but think of what Kate Gosselin just told HLN`s Joy Behar. Kate says to provide for her eight kids, if she were still a nurse, she`d be working more and making less. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
KATE GOSSELIN, REALITY TV STAR: Honestly, I wouldn`t be able to provide for them at all because babysitting for eight kids costs more than my salary as a nurse would. So this is truly a miracle for me that this, you know, career path took the turns that it did.
And I hope that it does continue, that I can continue to provide for the kids because, I mean, that`s my job as a parent.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Shannon Fox, you are a psychotherapist. Are these things Kate and the Octomom are saying - are they making sense to you? I get it. Kate`s trying to be responsible.
SHANNON FOX, PSYCHOTHERAPIST AND AUTHOR: Sure, she`s absolutely the most responsible mom that I`ve ever talked to. Really, though, Brooke, it makes sense -
ANDERSON: I sense some sarcasm here.
FOX: Really? Is it that obvious? I`ll have to get better at playing that down. But she - of course, it makes sense. She needs to take care of her children and I laud her for that. But let`s get real here. I mean, she`s trying to take hold of her 15 minutes of fame and not let it slip by since she, you know, doesn`t have her reality show anymore.
But then again, on the other hand, not many women would turn down $200,000 to be on "Dancing with the Stars." A lot of people would go on the show just for the fun of it.
ANDERSON: Yes. And it is a classy show. You know, and she is working less, making more than if she went back to nursing. She has said that and she has been slammed though for putting her kids on television, going on "Dancing with the Stars" and appearing to seek out the spotlight as you say, Shannon.
I think Kate is trying to strike a balance, trying to find a way to provide for her kids without harming their well-being. But in terms of the Octomom, I still worry about her. I still worry about her stability. Sunny, do you get the sense one mom may be doing a better job than the other?
HOSTIN: Well, one mom has less children than the other. But the other thing is, I mean, the Octomom`s own mother questioned her mental stability, claims that she is mentally ill.
And so when you really compare the two, it does appear like Kate has a little more going on, has it better put together and sort of wins the war of the moms. But again, I think that Octomom is trying to do what she now must do, which is take care of the 14 children that she decided to have.
ANDERSON: Yes. They are both treading water, simply trying to stay afloat and survive. It`s tough on anybody, let alone single mothers. And I did see a more serious and vulnerable side to the Octomom today on Oprah.
She cleared the air about recently saying on "The View" that even after having 14 kids, she might want another and she got really emotional. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WINFREY: Having another child is not out of the realm of possibility, is that true?
SULEMAN: You know what? At this point in my life, that is the farthest thing that I would ever even imagine. I live every single day, every hour of the day with a tremendous amount of guilt.
And I feel guilty when I hold one or two and that I can`t be there for the others. And they`re crying. And then I feel guilty looking at the older ones - they all have different unique needs.
And I`ll live with this forever. But all I can do now is keep on going, keep moving, keep on trying to be the most devoted mother I can be.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Octomom obviously under a lot of pressure. She is in danger of losing her home. She has those 14 mouths to feed and she is doing it all alone. Shannon, I feel for her a bit. Do you?
FOX: I feel for all working moms who are really struggling to do well in their career and then take care of their kids. They feel the pressure and the pull. When they`re at work, they feel like that they should be at home with the kids. When they are at home with the kids, they feel the pressure to provide for those kids.
So as a working mom, I would - I feel for her in that way. But again, she paid a lot of money to get herself into the situation that she`s in right now.
ANDERSON: Yes. Yes, it is a little tough to relate in regards to that. And the comparisons do continue because Kate Gosselin has gotten emotional about feeling guilty about her kids and their well-being as well.
And I`ve got to tell you I got up close and personal myself with Kate. I was right there Monday night on the set of "Dancing with the Stars" and did a little catching up with her.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
(on camera): You have said you were doing this for your children and that this is the first time they`ve really been super-excited about something that you`re doing. What are they telling you?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: She was really excited to talk to me about her kids are doing. My one-on-one interview with Kate Gosselin, coming up in just a few minutes.
But moving on first to more big news breaking today. Lindsay Lohan and her smackdown with VH1 "Celebrity Rehab" star, Dr. Drew Pinsky, over his comments about sending her to rehab. A.J., over to you. What happened?
HAMMER: Brooke, Lindsay Lohan struck back after Dr. Drew`s comments about the reports that she is partying out of control. Dr. Drew is saying she should be set up with drugs and get arrested so she`ll be tossed in rehab for her own good.
Well, Lindsay slammed Dr. Drew today, reportedly calling him a quack and posting this on her Twitter page, "I though real doctors talk to patients in offices behind closed doors. Am I wrong? Hmmm. I think not! Yay!"
Now, Sunny, it seems pretty clear to me that Lindsay is missing the point here.
HOSTIN: Well, she is missing the point because she is clearly in trouble. But I`ve got to say I think what Dr. Drew said was sort of way out there. I mean, you can`t advise someone to break the law to get their child into rehab.
But I don`t think anyone disagrees with the fact that she is way out of control. There`s something going on. There`s something very wrong and she needs some serious help.
ANDERSON: Well, and her father, Michael Lohan, is going to try to provide her that help. He sent an E-mail to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT saying he is planning to good to Los Angeles and meet with her and meet with her lawyer, encourage her to go to rehab. Can she be saved? Of course, she can. I think she can. But she`s got to want to do it on her own. Sunny Hostin, Shannon Fox, thank you both.
HAMMER: As we move on tonight, Sandra Bullock, of course, swept nearly every major acting award this year. Well, guess what. Now, she`s got to give one of those awards back. Yes, you are not going to believe who is asking Sandra to return her award pronto.
Plus, the incredible and emotional apology for Oscar winner Mo`Nique. Her own brother is saying that he is sorry for sexually abusing her. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.
TEXT: Laurence Fishburne signs on for another season of "CSI." "Mad Men`s" Christina Hendricks named best-looking woman in America.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
ANDERSON: Did you see this? The Kim K. kitty controversy. This new Kim Kardashian photo is generating a lot of heat today. Kim put the picture on Twitter. And just look at the way she`s holding this cat.
According to PETA, this is just downright wrong, sort of. PETA said it is OK that Kim held the cat by the scruff, but she just should have used her hand under the cat`s bottom to support it. Kim insists that she is a devout animal lover and that the cat wasn`t harmed. In fact, the cat was Kim`s co-star for a sexy photo shoot in Australia over the weekend.
And welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with A.J. Hammer in New York.
HAMMER: And there`s big news in "The Buzz" today. The shocking new details about the James Bond movie`s possibly being put on hold indefinitely. Plus, the incredible and emotional apology for Oscar winner Mo`Nique, her won brother apologizes for molesting her.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over): A Mo`Nique molestation shocker. Mo`Nique`s brother just went on "Oprah" to confess he started molesting Mo`Nique when he was 13 and she was just seven.
Mo`Nique herself just won an Oscar for her role on "Precious" as a mother who tolerated her daughter being sexually abused by her father. Mo`Nique`s brother is saying that he wants to apologize to her.
GERALD IMES, MO`NIQUE`S BROTHER: I abused and betrayed the trust of another sibling. My sister, my blood sister. I`m sorry. Mo`nique, I`m sorry. Baby, I`m sorry.
Mo`Nique`s parents were at the show and called the whole thing heartbreaking.
Mel Gibson`s ex-girlfriend speaks out. Oksana Grigorieva, the other woman in Gibson`s divorce and the mother of his five-month-old daughter made her first appearance since their sudden break-up.
"Us Weekly" reports that she told the Moscow news conference the split was mutual and said mysteriously, quote, "Unfortunately, I cannot give you the reason but you will find out everything quite soon."
James Bond needs a rescue. Startling news that James Bond, the movie, is on the brink of disaster. Producers have just announced work on the 23rd film of the franchise has been suspended indefinitely. The cause? Financial problems at MGM, the studio behind the film.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: This really is shocking to me. I mean, I can`t believe that James Bond`s being bagged because of budget problems. Is anybody else upset with this?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes.
HAMMER: I mean, come on. I`m thinking that the very first SHOWBIZ TONIGHT slammy award is in order here. Right now, in New York, Steven Smith, who is the host of the "MySpace Music Feed." From Hollywood, Rachel Zalis, who is a contributing editor for "Life and Style Weekly."
So you heard it. The 23rd James Bond film being scrapped for now. I`ve got to say, I`m really bummed out about this. In fact - may I have a drum roll, please, Charles?
(DRUM ROLL)
Thank you. Such terrible news for Bond fans worldwide. I think both the producers and the studio deserve the honor of being handed the very first official SHOWBIZ TONIGHT slammy award. I mean, look at that. It`s even got a hammer.
Look, Steve, James Bond has defied every possible means of death. Think about it, you know, the ninja skiers, sharks. And now, what? He`s going to get killed for lack of money. Are they nuts?
STEVE SMITH, HOST, "MYSPACE MUSIC FEED": Well, he did force Ari Goldfinger to get sucked out of the window of a plane. So gold in itself may not be too influential on James Bond`s franchise. If gold is afraid of you, how are you supposed to fund your movie? Seriously.
HAMMER: You sell off a couple of Aston Martin`s. That`s what I`m thinking right now.
SMITH: Yes. Or his Walther.
HAMMER: Rachel, what do you think? I mean, James Bond has been an institution since 1962. Are you with me? They cannot just bag Bond because they can`t pay the bills. Come on.
RACHEL ZALIS, CONTRIBUTING EDITOR, "LIFE AND STYLE WEEKLY": A.J., I`m devastated. I mean, that Daniel Craig has got all those ladies shaken and stirred, I`ve got tell you. But there is hope, because even if MGM cannot get their financing together, there are other studios waiting in the wings. Fox and Sony are both putting bids in so I do think James Bond is alive.
HAMMER: Oh, good. Shaken and stirred. You`ve waited all day to pull that one out, haven`t you? I bet you have.
All right. I`ve got to move on to the explosive controversy today over Sandra Bullock and the Razzie. Now, you may remember this. The night before the Oscars, Sandra personally accepted her worst actress Razzie for her role in "All About Steve."
Now, normally, the winner gets a cheapo replica of the awards statue, the one that they hold up on stage. But Sandra actually walked off from the award ceremony with that valuable original statue by mistake. It`s a one-of-a-kind.
Brooke, what is the big deal here? Can you explain exactly how this happened?
ANDERSON: Yes, A.J. The co-founder of the Razzie Awards responded today to reports that he asked Sandra for her Razzie back - really bad timing, if you ask me, given all the marriage grief she`s going through. Well, John Wilson says he did no such thing. He just wanted the valuable original statue.
And besides that, he told "E! News" he also had second thoughts about giving Sandra the Razzie for worst actress in the first place saying, "I wouldn`t say she was the worst actress of the year, though. I mean, did anyone actually see Megan Fox in `Transformers II`?"
He also claims that he called Sandra`s rep privately to ask that Sandra return the original Razzie and he did not mean for that to be made public. Steve, you know - I`ve got to say, Steven, I think this is probably the last thing that Sandra Bullock needs on her plate right now. I mean, the poor girl is dealing with a family crisis.
SMITH: Seriously. I mean, the Razzies are to be fun. It`s very tongue- in-cheek. You pick the worst movie. You pick the worst actress. It was a fun thing to do. If she walked off with it, didn`t anyone see her walk off with it?
Oh, yes. It was an award show. There was an audience. They couldn`t have tapped her on the show when she left and then wait weeks later when the controversy over her life was happening? I think it was just a lousy publicity stunt. And this year, the Razzies deserve one of their own.
HAMMER: And especially, Steve, you consider the fact, Bullock was so gracious about receiving the Razzie Award. Stars rarely show up for these things. Halle Berry did it, but she personally accepted it. Rachel, are you with me? I`m thinking they should actually just let her keep that original. Considering all she`s been through, it`s a little lovely parting gift. Leave her alone, right?
ZALIS: Yes. It`s like, way to kick a winner when they`re down. But she is like a huge A-list star. Let her keep the stupid statue. And frankly, I think there are more important things that she would rather give back, mainly her husband.
HAMMER: There you go. Or maybe she wants to keep the award around to hit him on the head with. I`m not sure.
ZALIS: That`s a very good point.
HAMMER: Steven Smith, Rachel Zalis, thanks, guys.
ANDERSON: Kate Gosselin one-on-one with me. Kate shares new revelations with me about juggling her hectic schedule, raising eight kids and how they just love watching her on "Dancing with the Stars."
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
K. GOSSELIN: They wouldn`t miss it for the world. And they`re like counting down, getting their popcorn and their snacks ready.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
HAMMER: Here comes the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.
TEXT: New Cirque du Soleil show with all Michael Jackson songs coming 2011. Fourth season of "Mad Men" starts July 25th on AMC.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
ANDERSON: Right now, my one-on-one interview with Kate Gosselin. You know, she is one of the biggest TV stars right now, all while raising eight young kids.
Plus, let`s not forget the extraordinary pressure Kate faces every single day from her critics and getting dissed in the tabloids for being a bad mom.
Love her, hate her, Kate tells me she is in it to win it. I got a chance to talk to Kate. She told me she knows there are critics out there gunning for her. But what matters the most to her will always be the love of her eight kids and making them happy.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
K. GOSSELIN: They count down the days until Monday again and they wouldn`t miss it for the world. I mean, they count down the hours when I call them, when I`m, you know, in the hair thing, whatever, getting ready to come out. And I call them and they`re like counting down getting their popcorn and their snacks ready. And they`re waiting.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: It was a big week for the Gosselin kids. Listen to this. They came out to Los Angeles to spend some quality time with Mommy Kate. Kate told me she and the kids had a blast at Disneyland and it was the perfect antidote to her crazy life.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
K. GOSSELIN: The fact I could tuck them in while I was out here and eat meals with them and hang out with them and go to Disneyland with them was, like, beyond amazing. And it just made - I haven`t laughed that hard and they haven`t laughed that hard in a long time.
And so I fit all that in because it`s so important. And we dance late at night. Tony was willing to move his schedule around so that I could be with the kids.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: All right, Brooke. So now that you got some face time with her, some one-on-one time, how did she actually seem to you?
ANDERSON: You know, she`s coping. She`s managing. But she`s tired, A.J. I could see it in her eyes. You could definitely see it in her dance Monday night. And I asked her, "Kate, are you running yourself ragged?" She said, "Yes, I am." But she maintains she is doing what she has to do right now for the sake of her kids.
And I want to move to this because we`ve been asking you to vote in our exclusive SHOWBIZ TONIGHT poll - "`Dancing with the Stars`: Are you surprised Kate Gosselin has lasted this long?"
The response so far, just incredible. Keep voting at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. Plus, you can always E-mail us. Here`s the address - showbiztonight@cnn.com.
HAMMER: So on Monday, we asked you to vote on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll. Right now, the shocking, very one-sided final results - "Tiger`s and Jesse James` Alleged Mistresses: Should they get a reality TV show?" Look at this - four percent say yes; 96 percent say no way should they get a reality TV show.
Some of the E-mails include this. It`s Diana in Maryland who writes, "Reality TV shows are dumb, but they are sinking to a new low if there`s one about women who break up marriages."
We heard from Shelley in Arkansas adding, "A flagrant celebration of infidelity and deceit all glammed up for TV. How lovely, but I think I`ll pass."
The SHOWBIZ TONIGHT research team did search high and low for E-mails in support of a proposed reality TV show hosted by these alleged mistresses. Brooke, I`m here to say we didn`t get one. We didn`t get one saying, hey, that`s a good idea.
Well, that is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.
ANDERSON: I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. Thanks so much for watching. Take care.
