ANDERSON: Hi, there. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - is Naomi Campbell a pretty big liar? The supermodel with the super temper is under attack again today.
But this time, it`s not for throwing a Blackberry at somebody`s head. No, no, no, no, no. It`s because of what she testified at the war crimes trial of a man accused of being a brutal, murderous dictator.
Today, it was Mia Farrow`s turn on the witness stand. And Mia contradicted what Naomi testified just a few days ago. And Mia was not alone, which is why SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that this time, Campbell may be in some really hot soup.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over): We all know that if you work for supermodel Naomi Campbell, it would not be any surprise if you got smacked in the head with her Blackberry. But Naomi`s reputation for attacking employees with objects like Blackberries is not the reason she`s center stage at a war crimes trial in the Netherlands.
JANELL SNOWDEN, HOST, "VH1 NEWS": Things are not looking so good for Naomi Campbell.
ANDERSON: Actress Mia Farrow today directly contradicted testimony just a few days ago from Naomi Campbell about so-called blood diamonds Naomi allegedly got from the man who is on trial, former Liberian president Charles Taylor.
FARROW: What I remember is Naomi Campbell joined us at the table.
ANDERSON: Farrow testified today that Naomi sat at a dinner table with her and Taylor back in 1997 while in South Africa visiting Nelson Mandela`s home and that Naomi knew full well that it was Taylor that sent her uncut diamonds as a gift in the middle of the night.
FARROW: She said that in the night, she had been awakened. Some men were knocking at the door. And they had been sent by Charles Taylor, and they were giving her - they had given her a huge diamond.
ANDERSON: Mia Farrow`s testimony contradicts Naomi`s, who testified she had no idea those men were sent by Taylor.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Did you ever subsequently learn who this gift was from?
NAOMI CAMPBELL, SUPERMODEL: No.
ANDERSON: But today, Naomi`s former agent backed Mia Farrow`s testimony, that not only did Naomi know the diamonds were from Taylor, she bragged about it. The diamonds in question are suspected of being so-called blood diamonds.
SNOWDEN: Those are diamonds that are traded in exchange for weapons. And those weapons have been used in African genocide.
LEONARDO DICAPRIO, ACTOR: The rhinestone can buy anything.
ANDERSON: That brutal conflict was the subject of the 2006 Leonardo DiCaprio movie "Blood Diamond. And they play a big role in the war crimes case against Charles Taylor.
SNOWDEN: Charles Taylor is accused of using these diamonds to fund the rebels in Sierra Leone. And of course, the rebels are responsible for hacking off limbs and murdering thousands of African people.
ANDERSON: Taylor says he`s never handled any blood diamonds. But if Naomi became so friendly with Taylor that he gave her blood diamonds, those diamonds would link him to murderous rebels in Sierra Leone making Naomi`s gift the smoking diamond that sends Taylor here for the rest of his life.
And Naomi`s testimony isn`t exactly helping him. That`s because Naomi has been caught in more than one 24-carat fib during this whole affair.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You received a diamond Charles -
CAMPBELL: I didn`t receive a diamond.
ANDERSON: Last February, ABC`S "Nightline" asked Naomi about the diamonds. She flat-out denied it.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Did his men bring you a diamond? You know, a diamond in the rough, sort of a large diamond?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: No, we`re not answering these questions.
ANDERSON: And she emphasized her point by smacking "Nightline`s" camera while storming out. It was only after she was forced to testify at the war crimes trial last week that Naomi finally admitted she, in fact, had received diamonds. Lying to ABC News is one thing - but what if Naomi`s found to have lied at The Hague?
SNOWDEN: If so, can you imagine Naomi Campbell in jail? What would she wear?
ANDERSON: So the fate of an alleged war criminal may come down to which celebrity is most believable - the humanitarian actress or the hot-headed diva with a penchant for abusing employees and, apparently, the truth.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
ANDERSON: There you have it. Mia Farrow seems to be calling Naomi Campbell a big, fat liar. Which leads to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - given Naomi`s background, who do you think people will believe, Naomi Campbell or Mia Farrow?
Right now, in New York, April Woodard, who is a correspondent from BET. Right now, from Hollywood, is Hyla who is an entertainment journalist with "5DollarPrep.com."
Hyla, to the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, who do you think people are more apt to believe, Mia Farrow or Naomi Campbell? If you say Naomi Campbell, I`m likely to fall off my chair here.
HYLA, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST, "5DOLLARPREP.COM": It`s the lesser of two evils. I mean, the reality is Naomi Campbell backed herself into a corner throughout this entire process, I would think. She`s a big-time celebrity worldwide.
What kind of counsel is she getting, because every step of the way has been the wrong move for her? Either she`s not listening to her people, or she`s getting really bad advice.
I`m thinking, looking at her track record, she`s says, "I`ll handle this my way." And now, it`s catching up to her.
ANDERSON: Oh, the arrogance. And you`re right. It has not been an easy road for Naomi Campbell. And here, Mia is calling her a liar because we`ve heard Naomi`s version of the events and we`ve had Mia Farrow`s of the events which contradict Naomi`s. April, whom do you think people will believe, Naomi or Mia?
APRIL WOODARD, CORRESPONDENT, BET: I think people want to throw a Blackberry at Naomi`s story right now because I don`t believe she`s got too much credibility right now. People are upset, honestly, that, you know, here`s a trial for justice, seeking justice for more than 150,000 people who died.
And she`s sitting there saying, "Oh, you know, this an inconvenience to me, my schedule," and doesn`t want to answer questions. And they had to force her to be there. So I don`t think that that really was good for her, and then, on top of that, two other people alleging that she`s not telling the truth. So I don`t think it`s a good thing for Naomi Campbell. I think she doesn`t have model behavior.
ANDERSON: Well, she could face charges of perjury. Yes.
WOODARD: Absolutely.
ANDERSON: She definitely doesn`t have model behavior. This is a very serious trial. And I`m going to go with Mia. I think she might be the more credible of the two right now.
OK. Another story making big news today. Is Levi Johnston lying about his breakup with Bristol Palin? Or is Bristol? Bristol reportedly ended her engagement with Levi because he`s making a music video making fun of Sarah Palin and her family.
Well, last night SHOWBIZ TONIGHT was right there in Hollywood when a newly single Levi walked the red carpet at the Teen Choice Awards, trying to look fly there. Take a look at what Levi had to say about this music video.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LEVI JOHNSTON, BRISTOL PALIN`S EX-FIANCE: We`re doing it tomorrow, and it is not about the Palins.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: OK. And who`s your beautiful date?
JOHNSTON: Brittani Senser.
BRITTANI SENSER, LEVI JOHNSTON`S CO-STAR IN A MUSIC VIDEO: I`m Brittani. I`m his co-star in the video.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: As she said, that`s Levi`s co-star in the music video. In that video, he plays a guy whose girlfriend`s mother disapproves of their relationship. Hyla, sounds familiar. Sounds a little like art imitating life to me.
HYLA: Yes. Absolutely. I would like to right here on television apologize to Levi Johnston because I thought his 15 minutes were up. I did not think he would have the capability, the know-how, the tenacity to continue his 15 minutes past getting naked.
I thought that was it. This guy`s amazing. Months later, he`s on the cover of "Us Weekly." Now, he`s shooting a video. Now, there are stories about a reality show. This guy has - he is the next Spencer Pratt. Watch out.
ANDERSON: Oh. And unfortunately, we have to recalculate the potential minutes of fame Levi Johnston has here. So I`ve got to get back to that music video because if that video has nothing to do with his breakup with Bristol, then why did they call it quits? Check out what Levi told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT about the breakup.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JOHNSTON: I think it was just a lot of things. I`m not going to comment on specific things like that. But you know, I think it had to do with a lot of the media, you know. It`s tough being in a relationship in the limelight.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Wait. Wait, wait, wait just one second. Maybe they should have thought about that before going to "Us Weekly" to announce their engagement even before telling Bristol`s mother, Sarah Palin. April, are you buying what Levi is selling here, that their relationship went south because of the media spotlight?
WOODARD: No, I`m not. And you know, when the bodyguard leans in and says, "say no comment" and he`s saying "pacific" instead of "specific," I`m like, you know, I don`t believe anything this guy says.
I mean, the fact that they were even on "Us Weekly" before - they probably broke up before the ink dried on the contract to put them on there. So they were probably - you know, you have to be together for a 24- hour window when we put the magazine out, and then you guys can break up. So I`m not buying anything. And I am amazed that he is still out there, and we`re still talking about him.
ANDERSON: Yes. Yes. And I just think it is completely hypocritical what he`s saying, that the media spotlight -
WOODARD: Oh, yes.
ANDERSON: Which he craves, is what caused the downfall of their relationship.
WOODARD: Absolutely.
ANDERSON: April Woodard and Hyla, thank you both. Hey, you guys, I know it`s only Monday, but I`m already in a deep mood with some SHOWBIZ deep thoughts.
Deep thoughts from Jennifer Aniston. Controversy today over Jennifer saying you don`t need a man to have a baby. And deep thoughts from Jessica Simpson. Jessica`s therapy revelation today about best friends being the best therapists.
Plus, Jolie versus Julia. The explosive showdown between Julia Roberts and Angelina Jolie. The battle of their summer blockbusters.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JIM MORET, CHIEF CORRESPONDENT, "INSIDE EDITION": No man is going to say, "Oh, I can`t wait to see `Eat, Pray, Love.`" I don`t know if most men know that "Eat, Pray, Love" is. Is it what? Is that a yoga? Is it Pilates? What the heck are you talking about?
ANDERSON: This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views. And now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MARK WAHLBERG, ACTOR: Who are you?
EVA MENDES, ACTRESS: I`m Dr. Sheila Gamble, his wife.
WAHLBERG: Come on. Seriously, who is that?
MENDES: His old lady.
WILL FERRELL, ACTOR: Sweetie, it`s a work station.
MENDES: Got it.
FERRELL: You come in here dressed like a hobo, it`s distracting.
MENDES: I know you`re working. I`m so sorry.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Will Ferrell is back. After last year`s "Land of the Lost" nightmare, I can tell you that "The Other Guys," his new film with "Marky Mark" Wahlberg, kicked butt at the box office this weekend. It pulled in more than $35 million, knocking Leonardo DiCaprio`s "Inception" from the top slot, and that was quite a tough feat.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood.
OK, so will took out Leo, but can Julia take out Jolie? You know, Angelina Jolie`s "Salt" has been a big summer blockbuster. But watch out, Angie, because Julia`s coming up fast in your rearview mirror with "Eat, Pray, Love."
This is going to be the big summer showdown for Angelina. And for once, it doesn`t involve Jennifer Aniston. It`s a SHOWBIZ special report - Jolie versus Julia.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over): Angelina Jolie. Julia Roberts. Both leading ladies are gorgeous, successful, and box office bankable. But which star has the recipe to win over the most movie-goers? Angelina brought the spice to "Salt."
ANGELINA JOLIE, ACTRESS: I love what I do for a living. And when it comes to action scenes, I just have a great time. And I think when you enjoy them and you enjoy your stunts and you get a - you know, you get high off the adrenaline, I think the audience enjoys it with you.
JULIA ROBERTS, ACTRESS: I want to go places where I can marvel at something.
ANDERSON: Will America`s sweetheart bring the sugar to blow "Salt" off the table when "Eat, Pray, Love," releases? Psychologist Wendy Walsh says female moviegoers will be drawn to the real-life story behind the film.
WENDY WALSH, PSYCHOLOGIST: "Eat, Pray, Love" is every woman`s fantasy. Wouldn`t you want to go to Italy for four months and eat pasta and then to India in an ashram and you can find your soul, and then go to Indonesia and give back and fall in love? I mean, come on. It`s the perfect story, the perfect bookend for women to read.
ANDERSON: And women have read the book. With a bounce from Oprah`s Book Club, "Eat, Pray, Love" had sold more than seven million copies worldwide, setting high expectations for the movie version.
ROBERTS: Since I was 15, I`ve either been with a guy or breaking up with a guy.
ANDERSON: So what about the guys? We asked entertainment journalist Jim Moret about male moviegoers and Julia`s new film.
MORET: No man is going to say, "Oh, I can`t wait to see `Eat, Pray, Love.`" I don`t know if most men know that "Eat, Pray, Love" is. Is it what? Is that a yoga? Is it Pilates? What the heck are you talking about?
ANDERSON: Men love Angelina`s strong and sexy "Salt" image. Just ask her co-star, Liev Schreiber.
LIEV SCHREIBER, ACTOR: She`s got physical attributes that make her incredibly compelling to watch. I think it`s also in her DNA, you know. I really don`t know how to describe it. There`s something kind of punk rock about Angie that really appeals to people. There`s a rebel in her.
ANDERSON: And Walsh believes that Angie`s rebel reputation is also appealing to many women.
WALSH: There`s a population of strong, powerful women out there who can live vicariously through this kind of huge action character. So every woman doesn`t need a giant love story. Every woman doesn`t need sadness and fears. They can feel energized and inspired by seeing Angelina do what she`s doing on the screen.
ANDERSON: But which actress is more likeable off-screen, Julia or Jolie?
MORET: Julia Robert is the girl next door. Julia Roberts is the girl you want to marry. Julia Roberts is the girl you want to protect. Angelina Jolie scares me, but in a good way.
ANDERSON: Scary, successful. "Forbes" list of the "Top 100 Influential Celebrities for 2010" ranks Angie at 18 and Julia at 77. But both actresses earned impressive annual paychecks at about $20 million each.
WALSH: The wonderful thing about economics is that once women have some parity with men on the economic playing field, they can also have some healthy male-like competition. This isn`t a catfight, not by any means.
MORET: I consider "Salt" to be an action film. But in many way, I look at "Eat, Pray, Love" as an action film because when I go with my wife, I`m going to get action.
ANDERSON: With two mega-watt celebrities headlining two top-notch summer movies, perhaps we all win.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
OK. The big Jolie versus Julia showdown kicks off this Friday when "Eat, Pray, Love" hits theaters. Interesting factoid for you about it - "Eat, Pray, Love," is directed by Ryan Murphy. He`s the guy behind "Glee."
Well, wow, if you thought the Julia-Jolie showdown was big, wait until you hear what one of the most famous celebrity attorneys out there is saying about Whoopi Goldberg. She is furious with Whoopi over saying that Mel Gibson`s ex is lie being hit by Mel. This isn`t pretty.
And brand-new outrage today over those controversial photos of Kim Kardashian`s 14-year-old sister, Kendall. Here they are. Kendall`s dad, Bruce Jenner, actually calls these pictures hot. Yes, her own father.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BRUCE JENNER, FATHER OF KENDALL JENNER: She wants to be a model. I mean, she was - it was a model shoot that any 20, 25-year-old would do and we`d never say anything about it. But because she`s 14, all of a sudden, is it right for a 14-year-old to do this?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: And deep thoughts from Snooki. She gets arrested. And today, Snooki says no more drinking for her, sort of. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
And now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.
TEXT: Rod Stewart to become a father again at the age of 65! "Twilight" and "The Vampire Diaries" are big winners at the Teen Choice Awards.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
IAN SOMERHALDER, ACTOR: Initially you would think this is "Twilight" on television. Then you read it again and you go, this has all of the components. This has all of the pieces and you realize, yes. Yes, this is going to be very cool.

MATT LAUER, CO-HOST, THE "TODAY" SHOW: So we`ve used the jaws of life, and we have sprung Stephanie from an elevator. Welcome back.
STEPHANIE ABRAMS, METEOROLOGIST: Thanks.
ANN CURRY, CO-HOST, THE "TODAY" SHOW: Your makeup looks good though.
ABRAMS: That`s all that matters. I was not even sure. I was hoping for some hunky fireman to rescue me.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: That`s the "Today" show fill-in meteorologist Stephanie Abrams back on set after doing her first weather report of the day live from an elevator this morning. She got stuck and gave new meaning to phoning it in.
Did you see this? So Stephanie was filling in for regular weather guy, Al Roker. So she might have thought it was some prank the new girl type of thing when she got stuck in an elevator. So like any good TV person, she improvised. Stephanie delivered the forecast from her cell phone while stuck in an elevator. Talk about phoning it in. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ABRAMS: We`re fine, but we`re just sitting here now waiting.
CURRY: OK.
LAUER: Could you do the forecast anyway, Stef? I mean -
ABRAMS: Why not?
LAUER: Go ahead.
ABRAMS: All right. Here we go. We`re talking about the heat wave that`s returning. (UNINTELLIGIBLE) to the center of the country. And it`s going to be hot, above 100 degrees for a lot of you today.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: She did really well, right? I know Stephanie. She`s a great, great girl.
OK. A brand new battle today between one of the most powerful celebrity attorneys and Whoopi Goldberg. Whoopi claims Mel Gibson`s ex, Oksana Grigorieva, wasn`t physically abused Mel and was just looking for a big payout from him. Whoopi doesn`t buy Oksana`s story because Oksana did not go to the police first.
So Allred just released this blistering letter to Whoopi - Gloria Allred just released this blistering letter to Whoopi on "Radar Online." She writes, "While it is fair to ask the question regarding why Oksana did not immediately call the police, I think it is unfair to jump to conclusions about why she did not and immediately assume a nefarious motive and underlying agenda."
I want to point out that Gloria Allred is representing a woman who claims to have had an affair with Mel while Oksana was pregnant with their child. Got that? We reached out to Whoopi Goldberg to hear her reaction to the letter. We did not hear back by show time.
OK. Tons of posts today on the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook page about Eminem and Rihanna`s shocking new video for "Love The Way You Lie." We asked was it totally out of line for Rihanna to do this video? It features domestic violence, houses being set on fire - after everything she has been through.
Ashliand C. writes, "The video was amazing and her vocals were amazing. At least she has the guts to show what really goes on in the world." Thank you for your E-mail.
And now, the SHOWBIZ lineup. Here`s what`s coming up on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - deep thoughts.
I cannot believe how many famous women are revealing their deepest thoughts about everything from drinking to having babies - not at the same time, of course. Brand new interviews today.
Jessica Simpson saying your best friend should be able to ask you every question in the book, even if it is offensive. "Jersey Shore" star, Snooki, saying that she`s laying off the booze after her papa started preaching. And Jennifer Aniston says today that women don`t need men to have babies.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over): Deep thoughts from Jennifer Aniston. In a brand-new interview, Aniston says women don`t need men in order to be good moms.
Jen sees absolutely no reason to wait for Mr. Right to start a family, saying, quote, "Women are realizing it more and more knowing that they don`t have to settle with a man just to have that child."
She also says being 41 and single shouldn`t stop her from having a child, saying, quote, "What is amazing is that we have so many options these days, as opposed to our parents` days when you couldn`t have children because you have waited too long."
Deep thoughts from Jessica Simpson on therapy. In a new interview just out on "People.com," Jessica says she`s worked through her issues by digging deep with her best friend. And here`s her advice, "Somebody should sit in front of their best friend in the world and have their friend ask any and every question - offensive or not. And whatever it is, answer it. That`s your therapy, really tackling those issues inside and out."
Deep thoughts from Snooki? Snooki now says she doesn`t need booze, or at least not so much of it. The "Jersey Shore" star was arrested recently on disorderly charges after drinking too much.
But now, she`s revealing her trip to jail and her dad`s reaction taught her an important life-changing lesson, saying, quote, "I`m definitely going to stop drinking during the daytime. And now, when I go out, I only have a couple drinks."
(END VIDEOTAPE)
We are going to talk about Snooki`s very deep thoughts in just a moment.
But first, Jennifer Aniston says that women don`t need men to have babies. And that brings us to today`s SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - does Jennifer Aniston have that right?
With me, right now, in New York, April Woodard, who is a correspondent and host for BET. And from Hollywood, Rachel Zalis, who is a contributing editor for "Life and Style Weekly."
OK. In that brand-new interview, April, Rachel, that`s out today, Jennifer Aniston said, "Women are realizing it more and more knowing they don`t have to settle with a man just to have that child."
OK, I think she`s right on one hand. But I`ve got to say, I don`t know how single moms do it. I`ve got the utmost respect for them. It is not easy to raise a child by any stretch. I rely on my husband completely to co-parent. So Rachel to the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, do you think Jennifer has that right?
RACHEL ZALIS, CONTRIBUTING EDITOR, "LIFE AND STYLE WEEKLY": Absolutely. We are not living in the `50s anymore, Brooke. I mean, families are completely redefined. And I think this is part of the reason that we love her. She`s rich. She`s famous. She`s gorgeous and even she can`t find a guy to have a baby with. I mean, this is a problem -
ANDERSON: I don`t think you need to settle for a man to have a baby. But if you can find a good man, do it because being a single parent isn`t easy.
ZALIS: Absolutely. But if you need to, then do it.
ANDERSON: Right.
ZALIS: No reason why if you`re single you cannot have a child.
ANDERSON: Right. April, what do you think? Is Aniston right?
ZALIS: Well, you know, there`s a key that she said earlier, and she said Jennifer has money. Well, money makes the world go round. And so you can hire somebody to help you to raise your baby if you`ve got lots of money.
But I do think that, on one hand, you do need the support. And I think it could be support of anybody. It doesn`t have to be a blood relative. It doesn`t have to be someone that you`re married to.
It could be a positive influence. It could be a man or a woman who`s a positive influence and really has the child`s best interests at heart. So you know, I kind of see what she`s saying. But on the other hand, I appreciate having my husband, too, and helping with my two kids because I couldn`t do it.
ANDERSON: I`m with you, April. Great points. Now, we want to hear from you. It is our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll - "Aniston`s Advice: `Women don`t need men to be good moms` - do you agree?" Keep voting at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight.
OK. Moving now from Aniston`s deep thoughts to Jessica Simpson`s. In another - you`re laughing, Rachel. Why are you laughing?
ZALIS: Deep thoughts.
ANDERSON: In another interview out today, Jessica saying that it works for her as therapy, and it can work for you, namely your best friend should be able to ask you anything, even if it is offensive. So April, you know, I think Jessica is making some sense here. She`s saying, be honest with yourself.
WOODARD: OK. You know what? I`m laughing because "Jessica Simpson" and "deep thought" is an oxymoron. But to get to the point -
ANDERSON: That`s why Rachel of laughing, too.
WOODARD: Yes. To get to the point of what she was saying, I mean, I think so. But you know, your best friend is going to be on team Jessica or team April. They`re not going to really give you the objective opinion that you need to hear.
Sometimes, they need to tell you you`re wrong, and I don`t know that even my best friend`s always going to say, you know, "You`re wrong." So -
ANDERSON: Well, Rachel, do you think Jessica`s maybe putting psychiatrists and psychologists on notice here? Maybe they`re fearing that they could go out of business there because Jessica`s saying, your best friend, they can do it?
ZALIS: Yes. I think they`re definitely not on team Jess. They`re all going to be out of business if it was as easy as that. But I think the one thing a friend should ask her is, can you please stop talking about your boyfriends publicly? Because they all dump her soon she talks about it.
ANDERSON: And that may be the best friend`s therapy advice for Jessica moving forward.
WOODARD: Yes. That`s their role.
ANDERSON: OK. Well, Jessica also admits in the interview that she`s not immune to criticism. Here, she says, "Of course, I`m a woman." She goes on to say, "But at this point, nothing else can be said about me that could be worse than I have already read." Yikes. April, do you think that she`s maybe setting herself up for somebody to take another jab at her?
WOODARD: Well, absolutely. And sometimes, her decisions set herself up for getting a jab taken. I just think that, you know, if it`s her friend that`s advising her up to now, then, the friend probably hasn`t done such a good job. And maybe - you know, maybe calling a shrink every once in a while would be a good thing to do.
ANDERSON: All right. I got to move now to some more deep thoughts. And I cannot believe they`re coming from "Jersey Shore" reality star Snooki. Snooki says she`s going to lay off the daytime drinking which was what led to her just being arrested for disorderly conduct.
Snooki also says she`s realized that she needs to cut down on the nighttime drinking, too. So Rachel, are you convinced that Snooki is has had some sort of epiphany here? Or are we going to see the same old Snooki?
ZALIS: Snooki (UNINTELLIGIBLE). Absolutely not. This is her job description.
WOODARD: Right.
ANDERSON: What she gets paid to do.
ZALIS: Get drunk, fall down. But the funny part is that she said her dad was embarrassed. Did he watch last season? I mean, cartwheels, half naked in a nightclub, you know, jumping on guys in a hot tub -
WOODARD: But this is her genius.
ANDERSON: Better late than never for the dad`s advice to come in. You don`t agree?
WOODARD: I don`t know about that one. I hope not.
ANDERSON: Are we seeing a new Snooki here on the horizon?
WOODARD: I don`t think so. I don`t think we`re seeing a new Snooki. She said she`s going to drink less in the day. That means she`s going to drink more and it`s going to be the same amount of drinks at the end of it. So -
ANDERSON: You know what, Rachel, she says one or two drinks at night. I don`t know if I believe she`s going to stop there. But I`ve got to say, I don`t want to be anywhere near the bar Snooki is in, even if she has one or two drinks because those "Jersey Shore" peeps - they get feisty. They get aggressive.
ZALIS: Yes, but that`s what makes the show so exciting and fun. I mean, we watch it because we want to see the, you know, fights they are going to get in. You know, even if she gives up the drinking, as long as she doesn`t give up the pouf, I might be OK. I could maybe live with that.
ANDERSON: Well, are you OK with that? Do you think MTV would be all right with that?
WOODARD: Yes.
ANDERSON: Just don`t give up the pouf, Snooki.
WOODARD: Don`t give up the train wreck, yes.
ANDERSON: Snooki`s middle name is train wreck, and she embraces that fact. OK. We`ll leave it there, ladies. April Woodard, Rachel Zalis, thanks.
All right. We`re talking about reality show madness today, not just Snooki. A star of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" comes face to face with an unwelcome guest wearing a coat of fur, and I`m not talking about Danielle Staub. It`s a SHOWBIZ caught on tape you have got to see today.
And new outrage today over Kim Kardashian`s 14-year-old sister`s controversial bikini photo shoot. So many think Kim`s sister, Kendall, posed way too provocatively for a girl her age. Well, her dad, Bruce Jenner, doesn`t think so and is calling out everybody who`s slamming his kid.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
B. JENNER: She wants to be a model. I mean, it was a model shoot that any 20, 25-year-old would do and we`d never say anything about it. But because she`s 14, all of a sudden, is it right for a 14-year-old to do this?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Really? Plus, we`re taking you behind the scenes of Lindsay Lohan`s new movie. It`s the one where she plays porn star, Linda Lovelace. For the first time, on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, Lindsay`s incredible transformation. And wait until you hear what Lindsay had to say about the controversial porn star. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.
TEXT: HBO`s "Entourage" to end next season, a movie is under consideration. Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato kick off their world tour in Illinois.
(MUSIC PLAYING)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
ANDERSON: Massive new outrage today over these pictures of Kim Kardashian`s 14-year-old sister. Her dad, legendary Olympian and reality star, Bruce Jenner, defends the racy bikini shots calling them "hot."
In an interview out today, he even tries to call out SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, sort of, for stirring up this firestorm. Seriously? Today, we`re giving Bruce a big old SHOWBIZ reality check.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood.
And today, Bruce Jenner is angrily defending his 14-year-old daughter for her modeling those teeny-weeny, revealing bikinis - pictures that Kim Kardashian put out online of her kid sister.
All this as a major Hollywood director is claiming today that shows like "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" are damaging America.
Right now, in Hollywood, is Kim Serafin. She is a senior editor for "In Touch Weekly." Also, in Hollywood, is Hyla. He is an entertainment journalist for "5DollarPrep.com."
I still cannot get over the jaw-dropping pictures of Kim Kardashian`s little sister, Kendall. Take a look. So many have called them inappropriate because, well, she`s just 14.
Today, for the very first time, Kendall`s dad is striking back. He told "Us Weekly" he found out about the controversy on TV, but hey, it`s no biggie. The pictures are hot. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
B. JENNER: Well, you know, "Good Morning America" was talking about her. CNN - she was on CNN - what do you mean? She shows me the picture. She wants to be a model. I mean, it was a model shoot that any 20, 25-year-old would do and we`d never say anything about it. But because she`s 14, all of a sudden is it right for a 14-year-old to do this?
Now, she wasn`t showing anything that was inappropriate or too much cleavage or anything like that. They were just hot shots, you know.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Hyla, does Bruce need a major reality check here? I`m sorry. When any father uses the word "hot" in any connotation regarding his teenage daughter, it`s a little creepy to me.
HYLA: OK. I think his choice of words were poor. However, I agree with what he said. First of all, do you want him to put down his daughter on television? Absolutely not. You expect a father to defend his daughter.
And also, let`s look at the roster of women that he has in his family compared to the things that other Kardashian women have done. Is this really that big of a deal? So I think he`s looking at the bigger picture, saying it`s all good. It`s bikini modeling pics.
ANDERSON: And he is way outnumbered in his house, you know, with the ladies.
HYLA: Absolutely.
ANDERSON: Kim, do you think Bruce needs a major reality check? Or do you agree with Hyla that, hey, it`s all right?
KIM SERAFIN, SENIOR EDITOR, "IN TOUCH WEEKLY": You know, look, I think it`s great he`s defending his daughter. But maybe, in a better way, he should do it. You know, he`s say, well, if she was 20, 25, nobody would say anything, but since she`s 14 - well, yes, that`s point. She`s 14, nobody would say anything if she was 20, 25.
HYLA: She`s not 14, though. I disagree with that.
(CROSS TALK)
SERAFIN: Let me just say something -
HYLA: I don`t think she`s 14 in her life experience. She`s more adult than that.
SERAFIN: No. But she is still 14, and the fact is, you know, when Miley Cyrus does sexy shots, she at least had a career as a kid first. So I think Kendall kind of skipped a step. You know, you first have to have a career as a kid.
ANDERSON: Yes.
SERAFIN: Then do the transition shots to make your way into more mature roles or modeling. She`s just a little young for the bikini shots. They look a little bit more "Maxim" than Bloomingdale`s catalog.
ANDERSON: It seems like she`s really trying to grow up way too fast. Well, I`ve got to tell you this. Kendall`s older sisters, Kim and Khloe and Kourtney are the stars of two hugely popular reality shows.
And I`m thinking that Kendall herself might now get her own show about her modeling career. Listen to this - Spike Lee lashing out at the Kardashians and all of reality TV today.
The legendary director just told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusively that reality TV is destroying American society as we know it. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SPIKE LEE, DIRECTOR: I don`t watch reality shows. Never have. I think reality shows have done damage to American society. I really do.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Hyla, very quickly - is Spike on to something here?
HYLA: Come on. He does reality entertainment - I mean, his last documentary for HBO about Katrina. Listen, reality shows like "Intervention" definitely serve a purpose. I think he`s hurting by painting such a broad brush. But the other shows like Kardashian, we love those. We need those releases.
ANDERSON: And he was talking about "Kardashians," "Jersey Shore," but not so much the "Intervention," the -
HYLA: We need "Jersey Shore" to get stress out of our system.
ANDERSON: They`re shooting "Makeover Home Edition."
HYLA: Right.
ANDERSON: I wish he would have clarified a little bit more.
OK. I`ve got to move now to a hot, new debate erupting today over one of the big new reality TV stars, Michaele Salahi. She`s the so-called White House party crasher whose show, "The Real Housewives of D.C." just debuted.
Salahi has been slammed over her war of words with Whoopi Goldberg on "The View." And last week her own cast mates were dissing her, which is why we asked in our exclusive SHOWBIZ TONIGHT poll - "White House Gatecrasher: Is Michaele Salahi the most hated reality show star?"
Late this afternoon - look at the final results. A whopping 66 percent said yes; 34 percent no. Kim, she was voted most hated reality star after just one episode of her show. I`m surprised. Are you?
SERAFIN: No because I think people didn`t hate her because of the reality show. They hated her even before the reality show premiered. But she still has 34 percent of people who are apparently on her side. So I think she actually needs to work a little bit harder if she really wants to be the villain of reality TV.
You know, I mean, look, it can work for certain people. It certainly worked for Kate Gosselin. It worked for Heidi and Spencer for a while. She doesn`t want to be a Jesse James. She doesn`t want to be a Jon Gosselin -
ANDERSON: You`re saying take it to an even more extreme level. I hate -
SERAFIN: Yes, because that`s how you make money. That`s how you get paid.
ANDERSON: For us to think that, but we probably will see it. Kim Serafin, Hyla, we`ll have to leave it there. Thanks, guys.
Moving on now to the frightening scare for one of the scars of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," and it was all caught on tape. Over the weekend, an uninvited guest showed up at the palatial home of "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Caroline Manzo.
It was not Manzo`s fellow co-star, Danielle Staub. It was a bear. Caroline, trapped in her house, tweeted what was going on, called her local news station. Check this out.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Caroline Manzo`s who we`re talking about. This is her Twitter page. Just 16 minutes ago, she posted, "There is the biggest (EXPLETIVE DELETED) bear in the world my front yard. Terrified."
CAROLINE MANZO, CAST MEMBER, "REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY": As of 20 minutes ago, he walked into the woods But he had to be seven, maybe eight feet.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Gee whiz.
MANZO: I can`t even tell you how big the bear was. I`m like horrified to even walk out of my house. I don`t know what to do with myself. My husband thinks he`s superman, so he went out to run the dogs as usual.
But I do have to say he is a sheriff`s officer, and we do have firearms in the house. And one of the kids said, "Dad, you shoot it." He said, "I`m not going to shoot. It`s a beautiful animal. He`s just hungry."
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: No one was injured. Not even the bear. OK. Lindsay Lohan plays a porn star. For the first time on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, new pictures of Lindsay Lohan in her dramatic movie role as `70s porn star, Linda Lovelace. Plus, Lindsay reveals the bizarre parallels between her life and the porn star`s. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.
TEXT: Kate Gosselin to appear on the primetime Emmy Awards. Justin Bieber just named new face of Proactiv.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JUSTIN BIEBER, POP STAR: There are some things that just come with being a teenager. Feet grow like crazy. I can`t stop that. Hormones kick in. I don`t want to stop that. And then, there`s zits. I can stop that.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LINDSAY LOHAN, ACTRESS: She`s was (INAUDIBLE). Anyway, I`ll try to deal with the situation.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Lindsay Lohan making news today. Her new film role portraying porn star, Linda Lovelace. For the first time on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, the incredible transformation of Lindsay into the notorious porn star. Lindsay Lohan reveals dramatic new details about her controversial movie role.
The buzz is building today about Lindsay Lohan`s dramatic transformation into `70s porn star, Linda Lovelace. There`s still lots of questions today about Lindsay`s choice to portray the controversial porn star in the new biopic, "Inferno."
For the first time on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, Lindsay speaks out about her controversial role.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LOHAN: She was this innocent girl that kind of, in a way, got trapped into this situation. Like if you love someone enough and you`re there for certain reasons, you can`t - you ignore who they really are, if you really wanted to.
I don`t think that she didn`t want fame. I think that she never even thought of fame. I think she was just - she was a 23-year-old girl with her friends outside, saw this guy, just awed by him.
And he was dark and he was mysterious and he was rough and it was different than what she`d experienced in life. And you know, girls like that kind of stuff.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Lindsay`s life has been out of control lately - jail. Now, she`s in court-mandated rehab for 90 days. Still, there are lots of people cheering Lindsay on, including "Inferno" director, Matthew Wilder. He said he`s waiting for Lindsay to complete rehab to resume filming. He says Lindsay is the only person for this role.
I want to move now to another big story making big news today. Eminem`s controversial new music video with Rihanna, "Love The Way You Lie." Houses on fire, shoplifting. The overriding theme, though, domestic abuse. Both Eminem and Rihanna have had their troubles with abuse, but both defend their decision to make the video.
The "Showbiz on Call" phone lines have been going nonstop today. Brian from Kentucky says that Rihanna and Em need to be aware of the message they`re sending.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
BRIAN, CALLER FROM KENTUCKY: It`s great that they can express what`s happening in their lives. But they need to be careful because they do influence children and they need to make sure that they`re saying that this stuff is wrong.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Brian, thank you so much. But Mandy from Texas loves the new music video.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
CALLER: It - in no way does it glamorize abusive relationships. I think it actually shows how abusive relationships are. I myself was in an abusive relationship for a long time, and that`s the way it was.
So I believe it`s actually going to bring a lot of attention to domestic violence and relationships like that. So I give them props for putting it out there like that.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Mandy, thanks for your call. Thanks for your honesty. Call us at "Showbiz on Call." Let us know what you think about this or anything else. The "Showbiz on Call" phone lines are always open. Write this down - 1-888-SBT-BUZZ - that`s 1-888-728-2899.
That`s it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Thanks for watching. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is now live at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Monday through Friday, and still TV`s most provocative entertainment news show seven days a week, 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.
