ANDERSON: Hi, there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - like Snooki, like Lindsay?
I never thought the day would come when I`d be talking about "Jersey Shore" star Snooki and Lindsay Lohan in the same breath. But today, thanks to what a judge said when he sentenced Snooki for her outrageous drunken behavior, there is a great debate going on.
And even Lindsay`s mother is outraged today. Is it really fair to compare Snooki getting arrested for being a drunken pest on a beach to Lindsay`s DUI probation violation and her stint in rehab? Or is Snooki headed down the same path as Lindsay?
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over): It`s a groundbreaking moment in the history of American jurisprudence. The biggest insult ever hurled by a judge on the bench, not counting that time Judge Judy came to work in a bad mood.
JUDGE JUDITH SHEINDLIN, TV JUDGE, "JUDGE JUDY": You`re a moron!
ANDERSON: "Jersey Shore: star, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi finally faced a judge for her July arrest for being drunk, disorderly and annoying people on the beach this past summer. And Snooki got an earful from the judge.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Going through life rude, profane, obnoxious and self- indulgent is not the way you want to live your life.
ANDERSON: And the judge hit Snooki with this historic insult.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You seem to be acting like a Lindsay Lohan wannabe in this matter.
ANDERSON: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you, today, the judge`s Lohan comparison had the hosts of "The View" buzzing.
JOY BEHAR, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": What does the judge know about Lindsay Lohan and Snooki?
ANDERSON: And it has Lindsay Lohan`s mom griping today. Dina Lohan tells TMZ, "The family is very disappointed that a judge would say that in a court of law."
Despite Dina Lohan`s objection, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that judge is only saying what a lot of us have thought, that these bad girls of summer shouldn`t have a lot in common. Just like the judicial tongue lashing Snooki got in court -
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Rude, profane, obnoxious and self-indulgent -
ANDERSON: Lindsay Lohan also got a judicial smack-down from the judge she faced in June for violating probation in a DUI case.
JUDGE MARSHA REVEL, LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT: It`s like somebody who cheats doesn`t think it`s cheating unless they get caught.
ANDERSON: But here`s a big difference between Snooki and Lindsay. We all remember how openly disrespectful Lindsay Lohan was during her legal drama. Lohan off court dates, wearing inappropriately low-buttoned blouses to court and showing up at her sentencing with F-U written on her fingernail.
But in Snooki`s appearance, she was actually apologetic and dignified - well, at least as dignified as a "Jersey Shore" cast member ever gets.
NICOLE "SNOOKI" POLIZZI, REALITY TV STAR, "JERSEY SHORE": Very embarrassed. This is not like me. I`ve never been in this situation before. So I definitely would like to apologize to anybody that I hurt.
ANDERSON: The results of Lindsay and Snooki`s different approaches - Snooki`s judge gave her a break, dismissing the serious charges against her and letting her off easy.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: A fine of $500, $33 court costs, two days of community service -
ANDERSON: While Lindsay`s fed up judge threw the book at her.
REVEL: That`s 90 days in jail.
ANDERSON: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that all this is just further proof Lindsay, once a promising movie star, is now a little more than a cautionary tale for young starlets gone bad.
JO PIAZZA, COLUMNIST, "AOL POPEATER": We`re going to be seeing a lot more of Lindsay Lohan being used as a noun, as a verb. "Don`t Lohan this situation." "Don`t you go Lohaning this up again."
ANDERSON: But today, one of Lindsay`s former co-stars says Lohan`s getting a bad rap.
JAMIE LEE CURTIS, ACTRESS: I want my body back!
ANDERSON: Jamie Lee Curtis, who starred with Lindsay Lohan back in the 2003 body-switching movie, "Freaky Friday," defended her last night on HLN`s "JOY BEHAR SHOW."
CURTIS: Every young person makes mistakes in Hollywood and any business. So I`m not going to sit down
ANDERSON: But even if Jamie Lee isn`t passing judgment on Lindsay, Snooki`s judge apparently is.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: A Lindsay Lohan wannabe -
ANDERSON: So it looks like Snooki can learn something from Lindsay and vice versa.
PIAZZA: Snooki can obviously learn something from Lindsay about how to let fame go to your head. And Lindsay can learn something from Snooki about courtroom decorum.
ANDERSON: Maybe a "Freaky Friday" style body switch is in order.

Is the Lindsay-Snooki connection incredible? So was the judge totally out of line here? And that brings us to our "SHOWBIZ Flashpoint" - is it wrong to compare Snooki to Lindsay Lohan?
Joining me right now in New York, Midwin Charles, who is a legal contributor for "In Session" on our sister network, Tru TV. And right now, in Hollywood, Pat Lalama, who is an investigative journalist.
Midwin, Pat, I think the judge had every right to make this comparison. He only said what a whole lot of people were already thinking. So Pat, to our "SHOWBIZ Flashpoint," what do you think? Is it wrong to make this comparison? A lot of people thought it was outrageous.
PAT LALAMA, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST: Let me say this. As a very proud Italian-American, I consider this faction of "Jersey Shore" to be genetic mutants, and I don`t claim them.
However, having said that, it`s a ridiculous comparison. I frankly think the judge is trying to use tough love, scare her to death by comparing her to Lindsay. But the fact of the matter is, people, close your ears reality, show fans. She`s a creation of reality show producers.
They encourage them to get into trouble, to behave badly. But in terms of the level of emotional dysfunction that Lindsay experienced, no.
ANDERSON: No comparison.
LALAMA: (INAUDIBLE) off the hook.
ANDERSON: Midwin, what do you think? And I think this judge was almost taking a fatherly tone with her. By the way, I think he must have a child, a daughter or something, who keeps up with pop culture for him to be talking Lindsay Lohan and Snooki.
MIDWIN CHARLES, LEGAL CONTRIBUTOR, "IN SESSION" ON TRU TV: Listen, I agree with Pat. You know, I think it was a stretch to compare the two. They`re very different. I think we all know that the impetus of Lindsay`s problems is an addiction problem.
You don`t particularly have that with Snooki, at least not yet. And I think that`s what the judge was going for when he made his comment because, let`s face it, Snooki spends her entire time on "Jersey Shore" show binge drinking.
And so I wonder whether what he was getting at was, "If you continue with this behavior, you might end up like a Lindsay Lohan, i.e., with an alcohol problem."
ANDERSON: OK. Well, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT put our best investigative team on this story today. And some digging was done and we uncovered the ultimate Lindsay-Snooki comparisons, ladies. Let`s take a look, shall we?
Both Lindsay and Snooki have had really public legal woes, of course. Both of these ladies enjoy regular doses of spray tan. We can`t dispute that. And while Snooki is the queen of the hair pouf, Lindsay`s also been known to sport her own occasional pouf - she has. And hey, let`s face it, both have had some pretty dramatic public hookups, romances and breakups.
So Pat, do you think maybe those similarities are strong enough to make a comparison or no? You`re still not going there?
LALAMA: I`m not going there. I`m going to go back to the same thing. I think in this - yes, you know, you can make those interesting and fun comparisons. But when you`re talking about the depth of dysfunction -
ANDERSON: Yes.
LALAMA: They`re two separate things. And I really do agree with Midwin. I think the judge was like, "Let`s stop this in its tracks before it gets any worse." He probably stayed up last night and, for the first time in his life, like, read teen magazines and entertainment magazines, "I`ll sound really cool if I mention Lindsay Lohan."
ANDERSON: Yes. He really had to research before (INAUDIBLE).
LALAMA: But I think he sounds like a cool dude, like he was really trying to do what he thought was right, understanding that he was dealing with a media (INAUDIBLE).
ANDERSON: Yes. I think so, too. But we cannot forget the smack-down that the judge also gave Lindsay, because we were just watching that same thing happen to Snooki in court during her court appearance. So that`s a similarity. Watch again how Snooki was treated.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You seem to be acting like a Lindsay Lohan wannabe in this matter. Going through life rude, profane, obnoxious and self- indulgent is not the way you want to live your life.

ANDERSON: OK. Midwin, you know, we`re talking about the comparisons. we cannot make them that strongly. But I agree with you. I think maybe he could be trying to say, "Hey, let`s head of a dangerous pattern in Snooki so it doesn`t lead to the caliber of controversy and legal woes that have taken over Lindsay`s life."
CHARLES: Exactly. And you know, as a judge, that is part of his job, which is to give a tongue-lashing to the defendants that appear before him. Judges do it all the time. I see it in court every single day.
It`s what they do. It`s how they get their message across. One of the messages he`s also sending here is that, "You know what? We take everything seriously. I don`t know how they do it in California. But in Jersey, we take these - you know, we take this hot mess behavior - we take this hot mess behavior serious.
ANDERSON: I hope at this court event and these charges were enough to maybe scare Snooki into being a little bit more responsible.
And ladies, I want to move now to another big Lindsay Lohan story making big news today - Lindsay`s Oprah interview. There are brand-new reports today Lindsay may do a tell-all interview with Oprah. So the big question today, is that really the best idea? Pat Lalama, Midwin Charles, stay where you are. We`ll have that in just a moment.

ANDERSON: ABC`s hit TV show, "Modern Family," has brought new focus to gay characters on television. But not everybody thinks more gays on TV is a good thing. It`s a SHOWBIZ TONIGHT great debate today - is the surge of gay TV characters sending the wrong message?
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. Right now, a showbiz special report - too gay for TV?
A brand-new controversial battle is on today as more gay characters invade primetime television. Some of my favorite TV shows including "Modern Family" have sparked a huge debate today over whether the surge of gay characters on television might actually be sending a bad message.
Here`s SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
KAREEN WYNTER, CNN ENTERTAINMENT CORRESPONDENT: The characters Mitchell and Cameron on ABC`s Emmy-winning sitcom, "Modern Family," are gay.
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: We happen to be a traditional family.
WYNTER: "Gossip Girls`" Eric is also gay.
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: I`m gay.
WYNTER: And so is "Glee`s" Kirk.
CHRIS COLFER, ACTOR: Did you bring (INAUDIBLE) because I`m going straight to sing "Sound of Music."
WYNTER: Perhaps not since the groundbreaking hit sitcom, "Will and Grace" -
UNIDENTIFIED ACTRESS: What are you - take that off.
WYNTER: Has TV seemed so comfortable with gay characters if primetime. Chris Colfer, who plays Kurt on "Glee" and is openly gay in real life, tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT it`s making a difference.
COLFER: I think, first of all, there just needs to be more awareness. They should see the struggles of young gay kids today. And I think the more (INAUDIBLE) we have on television, the better and easier it`s going to be for them altogether.
WYNTER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you not everyone is filled with glee over gay characters on TV, like Dan Gainor from the Culture and Media Institute, a conservative watchdog group.
DAN GAINOR, CULTURE AND MEDIA INSTITUTE: It`s bad for society to promote homosexuals, particularly homosexual lifestyle and gay marriage. And that is what this is doing.
WYNTER: Don`t tell that to Rich Vaughn and Tommy Woelfel, an openly gay couple with twin two-year-old sons. Rich and Tommy, who have been together for some nine years, tell SHOWBIZ TONIGHT shows like "Modern Family" -
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We adopted a baby.
WYNTER: Are right on the money.
TOMMY WOELFEL, GAY PARENT: I think everybody likes to see a story on television that they can relate to.
RICH VAUGHN, GAY PARENT: As far as parenting, I think we`re completely normal. We get frustrated. We`re tired. We have great moments, lots of great moments. And everything about our lives is revolving around the kids. And that`s completely normal.
GAINOR: What they`re trying to do is normalize something that a lot of people don`t want to normalize.
WYNTER: But "Modern Family`s" Eric Stonestreet who just won an Emmy as his role as Cameron on the show tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that`s nonsense.
ERIC STONESTREET, ACTOR: I think our writers do such a good job of - rather than sort of brushing it over, putting a spotlight on it and letting people see that it`s OK to not be perfect, and it`s OK to celebrate our differences.
And also I think people seeing our show, especially with Mitch and Cam, our characters, is that people are more similar than they are different.
WYNTER (on camera): The gay advocacy group GLAAD, likes what it`s seeing on TV. But a recent study from the group found networks - they still have a long way to go.
(voice-over): Here`s how the broadcast network stacked up in GLAAD`s study. CW and ABC got a good grade in representing gay, lesbian and transgender people in primetime programming. Fox and NBC received adequate ratings. And CBS ranked last with a failing.
JANE LYNCH, ACTRESS: I`m willing to do whatever it takes to make this Glee club successful.
WYNTER: Jane Lynch, who won an Emmy for her role as Sue Sylvester in "Glee," is openly gay in real life and tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT success will be measured one step at a time. She says she expects to see more gay characters on TV.
LYNCH: I think you tell human stories and the gays are becoming more and more prominent which is nice because I am one. So there will be - it`s a natural evolution. There will be more gay story lines which is great.
GAINOR: Hollywood has done a great deal of work causing acceptance in American culture for homosexuality.
WYNTER: So while seeing more gay characters on TV is not music to everyone`s ears, there are those clearly filled with glee.

WYNTER: Don`t expect the great gay TV debate to go away any time soon.

My big question is, why? Isn`t she the one who chose to pose nude in first place? Seriously.
Joining me right now in Hollywood, Hyla who is an entertainment journalist from "5DollarPrep.com."
OK, Kim is reportedly, quote, "freaked out over some never-before-seen photos from her "Playboy" shoot. But let`s not forget this was the photo shoot that helped launch her career as a reality TV star.
So Hyla, you know, I don`t get to quote Shakespeare very often here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. But me thinks the lady doth protest too much. And by the way, it`s bringing attention to the whole thing, her response.
HYLA, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST, "5DOLLARPREP.COM": Yes, absolutely. We know that the Kardashians know how to take advantage of publicity, even though she may not be down for this.
However, what was interesting also in that report is that her mom pushed her to do this, saying, "Hey, you`re going to appreciate that. When you have a body like mine, you can look back and remember that body." It sounds like before the career started, it was Kris who was kind of pushing her to do this. I think this is where maybe some of that regret is coming from.
ANDERSON: Maybe she`s regretting a little bit.
HYLA: Yes.
ANDERSON: Be honest, you`ve seen - no, I don`t want to know if you`ve seen. All right. Let`s move now to another story making big news today. "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star, Danielle Staub, spoke exclusively this morning with "CBS Early Show" host, Erica Hill, about the news this week that she is leaving the show.

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - a new Paris shocker, and it is shocking. A startling bombshell claim today about Paris Hilton`s alleged drug use.
A tell-all book is alleging that Paris once smuggled illegal drugs into Europe using - how do I say this delicately - using the most intimate part of her body.
With me right now in Hollywood, Alan Duke, who is an entertainment editor with "CNN Wires."
Alan, let me get this straight. These bombshell claims about Paris are coming from a book written by a former "Girls Gone Wild" photographer. And also the founder of "Girls Gone Wild," Joe Francis, is suing to stop the sale of the book claiming the author violated confidentiality agreements? What is the photographer alleging here about Paris, Alan?
ALAN DUKE, ENTERTAINMENT EDITOR, "CNN WIRES": The photographer alleges that he received a phone call once from Joe Francis who was dating Paris Hilton at the time. Francis in Europe wanted the photographer to deliver a box, a camel cigarette box filled with cocaine and ecstasy to Hilton at - and he did so at a photo shoot.
And while in the dressing room at the photo shoot at a Los Angeles studio, this guy, Ryan Simkins, says that Paris told him, well, she was flying commercial, but she had a way to hide the drugs from a search. And she held the box and demonstrated how she would hide it in a body cavity. And the - that`s what the book details.
ANDERSON: Demonstrated how she would have - I just can`t get over these allegations.
DUKE: She was naked at the time.
ANDERSON: What is Paris saying about this?
DUKE: Well, Paris Hilton`s representatives aren`t saying anything. It`s a flat-out no comment on this. And very silent -
ANDERSON: OK.
DUKE: Paris has been vacationing in Hawaii in the last few days after her arrest a week ago in Las Vegas.
ANDERSON: Yes, just having fun in the sun right now. OK. Thank you, Alan Duke. Well, this news comes not even a month after Paris` cocaine arrest which Alan just spoke about.

OK, ladies, Paris will be heading to court soon as a result of her arrest on suspicion of cocaine possession in Vegas. I`ve got to think this bombshell report about her allegedly smuggling drugs into Europe is not good timing. Midwin, if this turned out to be true, could it have any impact on the alleged cocaine possession case?
CHARLES: Well, I don`t know. I mean, one of the ways it would turn out to be true is if she were arrested and tried and true allegations were made.
Right now, we`re just talking about a book. These claims to me sound incredibly outlandish. She is Paris Hilton. If she really needed to get her hands on drugs anywhere in the world, I think she can do that. So I think it`s outlandish. She hasn`t been arrested for this. It`s he said- she said. I don`t see how this will play anything into her cocaine charges.
ANDERSON: OK. Midwin thinks she`s got the connections worldwide, Pat, to get the drugs whenever she wants the drugs. OK. My question is, even if Paris strongly denied these claims in this book, her background with drug arrests may make it seem not quite so farfetched for a lot of people.
LALAMA: OK. Here`s the deal. I think she has just enough of that sense of self-entitlement and invincibility that she would definitely do something like this. And I think, furthermore, it explains why she doesn`t wear underwear. Easy access, right?
CHARLES: Ew, ew, ew.
LALAMA: Sorry. (INAUDIBLE).
ANDERSON: Yuck! Ew!
LALAMA: Here`s the thing. Here`s the thing -
CHARLES: Oh, Pat. No.
LALAMA: Hey, come on. If we`re going to bring - if we`re going to bring up the fact that she may or may not have done this, come on.
ANDERSON: You`re a straight talker. That`s what I like about you, Pat.
LALAMA: I`m going to tell it like it is. But here`s the thing. I think absolutely that she would do something like this. The problem is, I think the guy`s a punk and a scumbag for writing something like this.
ANDERSON: Yes. Yes.
LALAMA: But what do you expect from a guy who`s made a living out of taking a video of desperate girls who are, you know, drunk -

CHARLES: My case in point which is why I think he has incentive to lie. He needs to sell some books.
ANDERSON: All right.
LALAMA: But you know what, the thing is it`s going to matter - there`s an issue of confidentiality agreements. And if there was something on paper that he wasn`t allowed to talk, he could be in trouble.
ANDERSON: He could be in trouble. All right. Well, from Paris drama to Britney drama. Gee, I feel like it is 2006 all over again, only for Britney this time, she doesn`t appear to be getting into trouble. She`s just dealing with a troubling lawsuit that was filed by her former bodyguard.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter joins me from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom here in Hollywood. Kareen, what`s going on with Britney?
WYNTER: Well, Brooke, Britney`s former bodyguard says he was humiliated - that`s right - humiliated and traumatized by her. This is according to a sexual harassment lawsuit he has just filed against Britney in Los Angeles.
Now, in the documents, Britney`s former bodyguard is alleging - and listen to this, because these are pretty serious - that Spears made repeated unwanted sexual advances on him, had sex in front of him and near her two kids. And she intentionally inflicted emotional distress on him.
Well, today, Britney is speaking out against the lawsuit. A statement was posted on her Web site today. And Britney`s camp is calling the lawsuit another unfortunate situation where someone is trying to take advantage of the Spears family and make a name for himself.
It goes on to say, "Ms. Spears and her attorneys had every expectation that this matter will be dismissed by the courts." Britney even has a support, Brooke - listen to this - of her ex-hubby, Kevin Federline.
His spokesperson today confirmed to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT what his attorney told the Associated Press and that`s that Kevin "is satisfied that the allegations of a product of economic motives. They are as baseless as they seem." So Brooke, at least, for now, it appears that K-Fed is on team Britney this time.
ANDERSON: Wow. Yes, Kareen. It sounds like Britney and Kevin have come a very long way, standing as a united front against these allegations. And to that end, Pat, I`ve got to say Kevin Federline, the father of Britney`s two young boys, coming out saying these claims are baseless.
Good for - I mean, they`re united probably for their children. Britney`s come a long way here.
LALAMA: I have one thing to say about this. You`re telling me that a Hollywood bodyguard is emotionally scarred by the actions of a dysfunctional, crazy singer. This guy needs to work with the boy scouts. He`s a wimp, poor guy. And by the way -
ANDERSON: Probably doesn`t look wimpy, you know, if you saw him.
LALAMA: No. I know. I know. But I mean, come on, and if you - and by the way, if you are so concerned about what he perceives to be true, her flitting about naked and trying to encourage him and child abuse, then you know what I do?
You say, "Hey, Ms. Spears. I`m really happy I got this job. But I don`t like your behavior. You`re making me sick. I`m against it in principle. And I`m going to my boss and ask for another celebrity. And I`m going to call Children Services. Goodbye."
ANDERSON: Yes. You don`t sit back and wait for something else to happen -
LALAMA: Exactly.
ANDERSON: If, in fact, you are legitimately worried about it. Well, according to Britney`s camp, the California Department of Children and Family Services already investigated the accusations and closed the case without any action.
Midwin, very quickly. Do you think Britney has anything to worry about here?
CHARLES: I don`t think that she does. But one thing I will point out is that I have the complaint right here. And it is very, very particular and specific with each one of the allegations.
And that right there is really how you get in the door on a sexual harassment claim. But in terms of his emotional distress thing, not happening.
ANDERSON: All right. Well, from Britney`s battle to Lindsay`s sit-down with Oprah. There`s a report today suggesting that Lindsay is planning to sit down with Oprah for her first post-jail/rehab interview.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT reached out to Oprah`s reps today. They neither confirmed nor denied a Lindsay Lohan appearance. Pat, I think Oprah would do an amazing job as she does with every interview she ever conducts.
LALAMA: Absolutely.
ANDERSON: I think Lindsay would be smart to sit down with her. But do you think it`s the best idea?
LALAMA: I do. I think, from a PR standpoint, this is like going before the country and saying six "Hail Marys" and 20 rosaries. And I think, from a PR standpoint - but that, by itself, does not heal the wound.
ANDERSON: Yes.
LALAMA: This is another big Band-Aid over a wounded woman.
ANDERSON: Yes.
LALAMA: She needs real help. She needs to get her life straight or no interview anywhere is really going to matter.
ANDERSON: But maybe it could be a start in the right direction. Pat Lalama, Midwin Charles, thank you both, ladies.

ANDERSON: Hey, welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. And there is big news in "The Buzz" today. Susan Sarandon shares for the very first time dramatic new details today about her split from Tim Robbins.
Katie Holmes reveals today when and if she will have more kids with her superstar husband, Tom Cruise. And some big fist pumping good news for "Jersey Shore" star, The Situation.

ANDERSON: "Jersey Shore" star, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino can`t trademark his famous nickname. But "The Washington Post" just revealed he`s gotten permission to trademark the phrase, "situation nation." Snooki, J-Woww and Pauly D. haven`t been as lucky. They`ve all reportedly run into legal drama trying to trademark their various nicknames.
Siblings for Suri? Katie Holmes just revealed to "Marie Claire" she and Tom Cruise might want more kids, but not any time soon. Holmes says she wants four-year-old Suri to get all of her attention for now explaining, "I want to make sure I`m really there for Suri. I`m the youngest in my family so I was a bit of an only child and I liked it."
Mourning Sarandon split. Susan Sarandon is opening up for the first time about her split from Tim Robbins. Sarandon just revealed to "New York" magazine that when they separated last year after 23 years and two sons, quote, "The nation mourned. I have a lot of people who came up to me and were not as upset as I was but were definitely upset."
"I did feel a sense of responsibility, but on your deathbed it`s not really going to matter how those people felt."

So did the nation really mourn when Susan and Tim called it quits?
Right now, in Hollywood is Kim Serafin. She`s a senior editor for "In Touch Weekly." Also in Hollywood, it`s Hyla. He`s an entertainment journalist from "5dollarPrep.com."
Kim, Hyla, after 23 years together, I am sure that Susan and her family mourned her split from Tim Robbins. But Hyla, do you agree that the nation mourned? Did you mourn the split?
HYLA: "Mourn" is a bad word. "Disappointed," I think, would be more appropriate. I was a little disappointed. I mean, they were a couple you really rooted for.
ANDERSON: Yes.
HYLA: You say, like, maybe they had it figured out. And then, when they break up, you`re like, "Well, hell, if they can`t do it, how the hell am I going to do it?"
ANDERSON: I was a little disappointed, too. And you know, I know some fans feel like they know their celebrities, especially a couple like Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins. So you know, it comes at no surprise that people were disappointed about the breakup.
Kim, I think maybe Susan here was just emphasizing her point with her strong choice of words here. Mourning, grieving - what do you think?
KIM SERAFIN, SENIOR EDITOR, "IN TOUCH WEEKLY": Yes. Maybe a poor choice of words, especially around this time of year, you know, when there`s an anniversary that we`re remembering when the nation actually mourned.
But I think she totally made the point. I am sure fans came up to her left and right because they were this enduring couple in Hollywood. They were the Hollywood couple who could deal with all the problems and could withstand all the Hollywood relationships.
They were the couple that was going to last. So I totally agree with her on that. I think she did kind of set an example for a lot of people. A lot of people were rooting for them as couple. And I`m a lot of people were very disappointed.
ANDERSON: Yes, though we wish them well. All right. Now, buckle your seatbelts and get ready for some turbulence. Did the infamous fed-up flight attendant, Steven Slater, tell a big fat lie?
You know, Slater became famous when he grabbed two beers and slid down an airplane`s emergency evacuation chute claiming that he did it after fighting with a passenger over some luggage.
Well, the "Wall Street Journal" reported today that investigators interviewed every single person on the plane and nobody - nobody can back up his story that he fought with a passenger.
We`ve been hearing that Slater may get a reality show, book - a reality show, also a book deal, endorsements, among other things - which leads to our "SHOWBIZ Flashpoint" - is Steven Slater`s career in Hollywood over before it even begins? Hyla, what do you think?
HYLA: I think it just started. I mean, this guy is the ultimate prankster.
ANDERSON: This did the trick.
HYLA: No, absolutely. You have to put him in the same category as like the White House crashers or maybe Balloon Boy. The thing is, our perception of what`s real and what`s reality I think is different than maybe like five, 10 years ago.
I mean, the incident took place. We know that happened. Was it a setup? That is the question mark right now. But you know what? If there was a setup, he`s a great prankster. Put him up with there Ashton Kutcher. I want to see a reality show with this guy right away.
ANDERSON: Yes. It couldn`t have been written any better in a script for a TV show or a reality show.
HYLA: I`m saying. I`m saying.
ANDERSON: You`re right. Well, also, a lot of people called Steven Slater a working class hero for that dramatic exit he made from the JetBlue flight. Kim, to the "SHOWBIZ Flashpoint" though, is Steven Slater`s career in Hollywood over if his story is fake?
SERAFIN: I really don`t think so. And I think he goes beyond Balloon Boy or the Salahis, because he is, to a lot of people, a working class hero. That fantasy in so many people`s minds is so much more important than what the truth may or may not be.
So many people thought that he was fighting for the little guy, fighting against rude people, fighting for all the things that are wrong in the world, doing what they always wanted to do at their jobs.
So I think it doesn`t matter what people are saying who were on the flight. This story will last.
ANDERSON: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT reached out to a spokesperson for Steven Slater today who declined to comment. Hyla, even if it turns out that Steven Slater made up this story, you know, Kim said the people want the fantasy more than the truth. So you think people will be able to just latch on to that fantasy and forgive and forget?
HYLA: Well, now, it comes down to his publicist, Howard Bragman, how he can polish -
ANDERSON: Who is brilliant.
HYLA: Sherman(ph) (INAUDIBLE). Who is brilliant. He`s on this show and I`ve worked with him over the years on the radio side. He`s great and I think he`s puts him in a position to become a successful reality star.
ANDERSON: All right. We`ll see what happens. Hyla, Kim Serafin, thank you both.

Well, said a comedian, even some Republican pundits think Boehner`s look is more "Jersey Shore" than Capitol Hill. Here`s CNN`s Jeanne Moos for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

MOOS: While Jon of Stewart jokes.
STEWART: He`s not human but actually made entirely of cured meats.
MOOS: Even conservatives poke fun.
JOE SCARBOROUGH, MSNBC ANCHOR: Using his special Boehner powers to blend into the fake bookcases.
MOOS: Boehner`s tan even made it into a poll. Public Policy Polling asked folks in his home state of Ohio, "Do you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of John Boehner`s tan? Sixty-four percent said not sure." But as ABC`s George Stephanopoulos pointed out -
GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS, ABC NEWS: Twenty-seven percent don`t like it. Is this something you have to overcome?
BOEHNER: Well, they probably weren`t there yesterday when I was out cutting my grass or when I was out riding my mountain bike, all right?
STEPHANOPOULOS: So no worries there?
BOEHNER: Thanks, George.
STEPHANOPOULOS: OK.
MOOS: It`s not the first time Boehner has defended his tan.
BOEHNER: I walked 18 holes yesterday. Last weekend, I was in Ohio, cutting my grass, trimming my beds.
MOOS: Not on a tanning bed. Though a Manhattan dermatologist told CNN, "I think he`s a combo. Some real tan helped by self-tanner, either cream or spray." Even the president has joked about Boehner`s tan.
BARACK OBAMA, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: He is a person of color, although not a color that appears in the natural world.
MOOS (on camera): A writer for "Vanity Fair" later disputed the president`s joke, saying there are all kinds of things in the natural world that are close to John Boehner`s skin tone.
(voice-over): From oranges to salmon, from Cheez-Its to mulch to pumpkins. That same "Vanity Fair" writer tried to duplicate Boehner`s skin tone on herself, attempting to match his shade by using various tanning products on her midsection.
(on camera): But for those of us who are pasty pale-faces, maybe we`re just green with envy over Boehner`s orange.
BOEHNER: I`d rather be heckled than ignored.
MOOS (voice-over): At least you can`t see him blush.
BOEHNER: Hell, no, you can`t!
