BROOK ANDERSON, HLN CO-HOST: Hi there, everyone, I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today.
Paris, a pariah?
HAMMER: Yes, Brooke and talk about adding insult to injury. It was probably bad enough for Paris Hilton that she got banned from nightclubs in Las Vegas after her cocaine arrest, but now Paris Hilton is banned from an entire country for her cocaine conviction.
Japan today told Paris to get out of their country, that people with drug convictions are not welcome there. And that is something that you would think all those high-priced lawyers she pays should have mentioned to her.

HAMMER (voice-over): It goes to show you that the best laid travel plans of trouble-prone heiresses often go awry. Exhibit A, Paris Hilton, whose trip to Japan was canceled today at Tokyo`s airport on account of snow. Not this kind of snow, we are talking the other kind.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has obtained this brand-new video of Paris today. It shows her at Tokyo`s airport, just minutes after officials banned her from entering the country because of her conviction in Las Vegas Monday for carrying cocaine.
Leaving the airport and the country in shame, Paris still had a nice good-bye message to her Japanese hosts.
PARIS HILTON, ACTRESS: I`m going back home. I look forward to coming back to Japan in the future and I love everyone.
HAMMER: But despite Hilton`s loving parting words, the message Japan is sending her today isn`t quite as kind. How do you say "get out and stay out" in Japanese?
NINA PARKER, TMZ: They just decided that they didn`t want her there. And I wish we had that option here.
HAMMER: Paris` trip to Japan was supposed to be her return to normalcy, after her embarrassing court date Monday in Las Vegas.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: How do you plead?
HILTON: Guilty, your honor.
HAMMER: Paris pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of drug possession and obstructing an officer, after her arrest last month on the Vegas strip.
HILTON: I was in possession.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What did you possess?
HILTON: Cocaine.
HAMMER: The very next day, Paris boarded a plane to Tokyo to begin a tour in Asia to promote her fashion and fragrance lines. But unfortunately for Paris, officials in Japan apparently follow the news, too.
PARKER: She lands there, where she`s actually detained by Japanese authorities, who detained her for six hours, while they questioned her about her court case. They decided that they just weren`t going to allow her entry into the country and told her she had to go back to the U.S. You don`t have to go home, but you`ve got to get out of here.
HAMMER: Another thing the Japanese may have noticed, over her summer travels the past few months, allegations of drug use seem to follow Paris around, along with her luggage. South Africa, Paris arrested at a World Cup match on suspicion of possession of marijuana. The case was dropped after a friend copped to owning the pot.
The French Island of Corsica, a French newspaper reports Paris was briefly detained at the airport after officials detected marijuana in her bag. Paris called that a rumor.
And then, of course, there was that trip to Las Vegas.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: And what did you possess?
HILTON: Cocaine.
HAMMER: As for Japan, which in past has banned the likes of Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones over drug concerns, it appears the Land of the Rising Sun decided to boot Paris Hilton out of their country before she could get into trouble there.
PARKER: Apparently Japan doesn`t look highly upon people who have convictions that are related to drugs.
HILTON: I`m going back home.
HAMMER: But SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you, even as a major industrialized nation sends her the unmistakable message that her drug antics have made her Paris non grata, Hilton still doesn`t seem to get it.
About her troubles in Japan, Paris Hilton`s spokesperson tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, "Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn`t want to let down her brands and many Asian fans. She intended on fulfilling her contract and is trying hard to do the responsible thing, but this is beyond her control."
Beyond her control? Paris -- we beg to differ. Again, remember Las Vegas?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What did you possess?
HILTON: Cocaine.
PARKER: She should take some personal responsibility and not do drugs and she can do all the business she wants in other countries.
HAMMER: The judge in her Las Vegas case has promised to throw Paris in jail for a year if she gets in trouble again. But Paris, if the threat of jail isn`t enough to keep your nose clean, consider this --
HILTON: I`m really tired, guys. Bye.
HAMMER: It will make your travel agent`s job much easier.

HAMMER: Ok, so if fear of jail isn`t enough for Paris to clean up her act, I`m actually thinking the international public pariah status after getting the boot from an entire country, that might be a major wakeup call for Paris today.
With me in New York, Deborah Norville, she`s the anchor of "Inside Edition". In Burbank, is Tony Potts, he`s the weekend co-host and a correspondent for "Access Hollywood."
So here`s the thing that had me scratching my head today. How could Paris and her high-powered attorneys manage to get her a deal to avoid jail on this very serious cocaine charge but the lawyers forget to tell her, hey, you know Paris, don`t go to Japan, because they don`t take kindly to people who admit to drug possession. Deborah, I just find this bizarre, don`t you?
DEBORAH NORVILLE, ANCHOR, "INSIDE EDITION": Well, it`s bizarre, but a very cynical friend of mine points out that there`s been an enormous amount of publicity about this, and is it not possible that someone who is a publicity hound like Paris Hilton might have actually gotten on that plane knowing full well that entry would be denied? Because everybody remembers the Stones, everybody remembers Paul McCartney.
And I might just point out that Japan is not the only country where Miss Hilton will not be welcome. She cannot go to Canada. She would be declared an inadmissible person there. She would probably not be admitted to the United Kingdom.
HAMMER: Yes.
NORVILLE: So there`s a number of countries that would deny her. And there are a number of other Asian countries as well.
HAMMER: I just don`t want to believe that this is what she wants publicity for, but then again, I`ve gotten to the point where really nothing surprises me. Cliche as that is, I`ve given up pretty much.
NORVILLE: A.J., look at how she`s outfitted herself every time she appears in court. Look at how she`s coming down the escalator there at Narita Airport. She`s got her flip camera out. She is recording the paparazzi recording her.
HAMMER: Ok.
NORVILLE: She`s loving every moment of it.
HAMMER: I still have hope. Tony Potts, you`re my friend and have covered Paris for years, the good, the bad, the ugly, the cocaine -- all of it. Could being banned from an entire country in your mind be the perfect thing for Paris, forcing her to re-evaluate her life? In the way she handles herself? Because obviously nothing else has gotten through to her.
TONY POTTS, WEEKEND CO-HOST, "ACCESS HOLLYWOOD": Well, A.J., let`s break it down. I just left a few minutes ago at West Hollywood. I was hanging out -- I sat down with Taylor Swift. She`s 20 years old, ok? She`s in the throes of an amazing career. This woman, Taylor, has more integrity, common sense in her little pinky than Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, combined.
And let`s -- let`s talk about Japan and what it means financially. This is where it may hit her pocketbook and may make some sense to her. You know, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, all those guys do ads in those countries specifically because they`re -- they`re -- they are huge there, they get paid well there. Those ads never air in the United States. Paris Hilton has the same following in Japan.
HAMMER: Yes.
POTTS: So that could -- that could hurt her. But by the way, I mean, if you`re going to play with fire, you`ve got to have flame retardant gloves and a body suit and clearly, Paris Hilton does not have that.
HAMMER: No and -- and look, if her lawyers did tell her not to go and she went anyway, then -- then really, shame on her if it is a big PR stunt.
POTTS: Absolutely.
HAMMER: Let`s move on though. Because we`ve got to get to this explosive new chapter today in Mel Gibson`s bitter custody battle with his ex, Oksana Gregorieva. Now, they were at war over their infant daughter in those now-infamous leaked tapes believed to be of Mel just unleashing his fury on Oksana. Listen to this.

MEL GIBSON, ACTOR: You go out in public and it`s a (EXPLETIVE DELETED) embarrassment to me. You look like a (EXPLETIVE DELETED) on heat. And if you get raped by a pack of (EXPLETIVE DELETED), it will be your fault. All right? Because you provoked it. You are provocatively dressed all the time with your fake (EXPLETIVE DELETED) you feel you have to show off.

HAMMER: All right, Brooke, what happened today?
ANDERSON: I feel sick every time I hear those tapes, A.J.
Ok. Today, Oksana is firing back. For the very first time, she`s responding to accusations she leaked those horrific tapes. This morning on the "Today" show, Oksana`s legal team tried to set the record straight about how those tapes got out in the first place. Watch.

MEREDITH VIEIRA, NBC HOST, "TODAY": Is she responsible for either selling those -- those conversations to Radar Online, or handing them over and leaking them to Radar Online?
DANIEL HOROWITZ, ATTORNEY FOR OKSANA GRIGORIEVA: No, absolutely not. In fact, you know, those are worth probably a million dollars to whoever leaked them, and she is broke.

ANDERSON: Here`s the thing -- he`s denying she leaked the tapes to Radar Online but he didn`t flat-out deny that Oksana gave the tapes to somebody else, which means the only other possibility would be that somebody stole them.
Deborah, do you think he cleared her name or does something still smell fishy here?
NORVILLE: Well, I think there`s still a huge question about how those tapes got out in the public, whether she looked the other way when someone snatched them, whether she mentioned, gee, I`ve got some great stuff on my recorder. It`s sort of beside the point because both sides are playing the PR game.
You know Mel Gibson`s side has also made available an e-mail that makes him look quite contrite and apologetic in which he says, gee, maybe I had male menopause. Both sides are playing this game. If there really had been a theft, do you not think that Oksana Grigorieva`s attorneys would have made this apparent --
ANDERSON: Yes.
NORVILLE: -- to the prosecutor --
ANDERSON: Exactly.
NORVILLE: -- and the D.A.`s office and there would have been some action and there hasn`t been.
ANDERSON: It would have been clear. You`re right. Ok, Deborah Norville and Tony Potts --
POTTS: Brooke -- Brooke, let me add something really quickly --
ANDERSON: Oh quickly, very quickly.
POTTS: Ok. I just want to add one real thing. He said that she did not sell them to Radar Online. It does not mean she didn`t tell sell them to a middleman. There you go.

HAMMER: Lady Gaga`s secrets, brand-new secrets, inside the mind of Gaga. Is she a political powerhouse? What was really behind that raw meat dress?
Well, I sat down with Maureen Callahan, who wrote the unauthorized Gaga biography called "Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga." And I had to asked her what she`d learned about Gaga that shocked her the most.

MAUREEN CALLAHAN, AUTHOR, "POKER FACE: THE RISE AND RISE OF LADY GAGA: I was most shocked to learn that she really can`t be alone for a second of the day. She can`t literally be alone to take a shower or to take a nap.
HAMMER: Gaga recently did something that has gotten a lot of people`s attention where she sort of jumped into politics, something she is very passionate about and certainly a worthy cause, trying to get "don`t ask, don`t tell" repealed. And she appealed to her little monsters to contact their senators to help make this happen.
And we`ve been asking on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT if she really is a political powerhouse or if she is a powerless princess.
CALLAHAN: I don`t know if you were following the Twitter exchange between her and Senator Gillibrand from New York --
HAMMER: Absolutely.
CALLAHAN: -- but Senator Gillibrand basically said, will you please call me? I`d love to discuss this.
So when you have a United States senator saying, I`d like to talk to you about this, I think you that see her, you know, her real power as some sort of change agent.
HAMMER: All right, let`s look at some of her outrageousness. Because we`ve all been a witness to what she`s been doing over the past time that we`ve gotten to know her.
She of course very famously flipped the bird to the paparazzi at the Mets game. Terrific photo caught on camera there. She set off a metal detector at a Vancouver airport with a metal-studded corset. And of course most recently, she wore a dress made entirely of raw meat at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Now, Gaga has said, all that outrageousness is really an act. But do you believe that, or is there some sort of deep-seated reason behind her acting this way?
CALLAHAN: From everyone I spoke to for this book, at a certain point, she sort of crossed over into the other side. She went from Stephanie Germanotta, who had this alter ego, to Lady Gaga. That`s now who she is. And she -- she does not leave the house without looking this way 99 percent of the time.
HAMMER: Well, she talks about her insecurities quite a bit and I want to take a look at where she spoke with Larry King on his show about how she feels so insecure and how all that plays out on stage. Let`s watch that.

GAGA: I`m not interested, Larry, in being a perfect, placid pop singer that looks great in bikinis and is on the cover of every magazine. I -- I -- I`m more interested in helping my fans to love who they are.

HAMMER: Ok, so Maureen, in your book "Poker Face," you talk about how she struggled with her looks and how she was rejected by the music industry. That has to have played a huge part into what helped her become larger than life I imagine.
CALLAHAN: She really exhibited a lot of fortitude and determination. When she would go into these meetings with executives and managers who would say, I don`t know, like, you don`t have the readymade looks of a Christina Aguilera or Britney Spears. She would leave those meetings fuming and she would say, I`m never taking a meeting with that person again, but they`re going to be sorry.

A.J., it`s really anybody`s guess just how long this "Jersey Shore" phenomenon will last. I hope Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino who is estimated to make $5 million this year, doesn`t spend it all on fabric softener and gym memberships.
HAMMER: Yes that would be best.
Well, today, we did get some brand-new details Brooke, about the offers reportedly on the table for two of "The Situation`s" sidekicks, Pauly D. and Vinny.
Let`s start off with Vinny, and the reports that "Playgirl" wanted to give him $30,000 to pose naked. Well the "Showbiz Truth Squad" got on the case today and we set the record straight, Brooke.
ANDERSON: Yes, we did, A.J. a "Playgirl" rep tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, quote, "I never offered Vinny $30,000 to pose for "Playgirl." We really want Pauly D. to pose."
Talk about a diss to not only Vinny but to poor Pauly D. only -- only $30,000. Didn`t Levi Johnston get more than that? And A.J., J-Woww is reportedly -- has reportedly just been offered $400,000 to pose for "Playboy."
And that`s a whole lot less than, like I said, the $5 million "The Sitch" is reportedly making this year.
But bottom line A.J., is this -- as long as the show continues to pull in those big ratings, as long as people continue to watch, these guys are going to continue to get really --
HAMMER: Yes.
ANDERSON: -- lucrative opportunities.
HAMMER: Well and strange offers and opportunities because if I`m reading this -- this information from "Playgirl" right, they actually want to make a cast of a certain part of Vinny. I don`t really want to talk about that though, so why don`t we just move on, Brooke.
HAMMER: All right, yes let`s do that, ok.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. With big news breaking today -- and the judges are -- there`s been months of speculation about who will be sliding into those empty and very important judges` seats on "American Idol," and today, we finally got the answer.
As expected, "Idol" announced Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez will be joining Randy Jackson on the judge`s panel. But there was also a very, very big surprise.
But wait, there`s more big breaking news today about the show that is "Idol`s" biggest rival, "Dancing with the Stars." There is outrage today over Hoff`s dancing disaster. On "The View" this morning, Sherri Shepherd was raving mad about the first big elimination of the season.

ANDERSON: Yes. David Hasselhoff booted off "Dancing with the Stars." There is a brand-new debate raging today over why the Hoff was bounced so early from the show.
With me right now, from Hollywood, Rachel Zalis, who is the contributing editor with "Life & Style Weekly." Also from Hollywood, Tanika Ray, who is an entertainment journalist.
Ladies, I got to begin with the big "American Idol" announcement today --
TANIKA RAY, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST: Yes.
ANDERSON: -- about Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith legend Steven Tyler named as the new judges.
RAY: Wow.
ANDERSON: And the big surprise here, record executive Jimmy Ivine will be mentoring the contestants. Tanika, I think it`s safe to say this was Hollywood`s worst-kept secret ever, right? We`ve known this for a long time.
RAY: Yes that was my opening line, was what this was a secret?
ANDERSON: I know there is no surprise --
RAY: No surprise.
ANDERSON: -- it`s J.Lo and Steven Tyler.
But do you think the producers got it right? Now that it is finally official?
RAY: Well, I have been questioning their choices from last season. I came on the show and said very openly, I don`t get the whole Ellen thing, and I`m going to say again, I understand it`s a lot of sparkle, very little substance.
Yes, J.Lo is going to have a lot of fans that are going to watch the show. Steven Tyler is a legend. We`re going to watch the show for him. Whether or not they know how to sing and can give singing advice remains to be seen.
So I think they`ve got it right as far as TV talent but I don`t know if they have it right as far as sort of compromising what the -- what the auditioners are going to be --
ANDERSON: And J.Lo has got to make sure she`s such a big star, she got to make sure she doesn`t dominate because the show is about contestants.
RAY: I don`t know if she knows how to do that.
ANDERSON: We`ll see.
RAY: We`ll see.
ANDERSON: She`ll learn really quickly and she doesn`t know it.
RAY: She`ll have to.
ANDERSON: All right, well J.Lo and Steven Tyler were all smiles today making nice-nice and Tyler made no bones about it today about why he signed up for the gig. Watch.

RACHEL ZALIS, CONTRIBUTING EDITOR, LIFE & STYLE WEEKLY: Absolutely. It was becoming "American Idle" i-d-l-e, because nothing was happening. And, you know, not many people can fill Simon`s T-shirts, but I think they`ve got a dream team.
I mean between J.Lo and Steven Tyler, they have almost 20 top ten singles. Jimmy Ivine has worked with U2, Springsteen, I mean, these are people with a lot of credibility, and I think they will be really honest.
RAY: They`ve got the resumes.
ZALIS: And I think it still will be fun again.
ANDERSON: We`re looking at Jennifer Lopez right here. You know, she was positively glowing at the press conference today. She`s really excited. And she should be. She`s getting paid a reported $12 million.
Heck, we`d all be glowing right if they were going to pay us $12 million.
RAY: Well, there`s $12 million for her fierceness.
ANDERSON: And that`s the thing.
ZALIS: She looked like the diva that she is.

ANDERSON: Exactly she`s bringing diva back to --
RAY: She`s bringing some glam.
ZALIS: Absolutely.
ANDERSON: All right. And J.Lo revealed to Ryan Seacrest her very high hopes about the talent on the new season of "Idol." Watch.

ANDERSON: All right. Finding the next Michael Jackson. That`s a pretty tall order.
RAY: Sure.
ANDERSON: But do you think that she and Steven Tyler can inject that much-needed energy into "American Idol?"
RAY: I think because so many people look up to them, they will be apt to go out and audition. So in that case, I can see what she`s saying.
And why not set the standards high? I say, I don`t know if you`re going to find the next Michael Jackson. But I do think that she has an eye. She definitely is somebody that has been ambitious in her life and she knows what it takes to be a star and the same with Steven Tyler.
So hopefully that combination will work. I just hope one of them can say, I don`t like that, you sound like crap, like Simon did, which obviously served the kids so well.
I don`t know if anybody has the cojones to do that now. We`ll see.
ANDERSON: Well, you know, I`ve got to say thank you to the producers --
RAY: Yes.
ANDERSON: -- of "American Idol," before we go any further for their creative use of SHOWBIZ TONIGHT in their opening montage, addressing all the speculation about how the judges panel was going to shake out.

HAMMER: Brooke, look at that. That was pretty cool. Hey, you`re now a part of "American Idol" history. There is no ignoring that.
ANDERSON: I love talking about it.
ANDERSON: Hey, look, we covered this story like no other entertainment news show for sure.
But right now, let`s move on, because there`s plenty of outrage to talk about today over David Hasselhoff being booted from "Dancing with the Stars." The Hoff became the first contestant kicked off the show. Even Bristol Palin and "The Situation" survived this thing.
Well, of course, the ladies of "The View" got into a very heated debate over whether or not the Hoff`s public drinking problems were part of the reason that people just didn`t vote for him. Take a look.

SHEPHERD: Well people are wondering -- a lot of people were wondering if America is kind of tired of bad behavior, because, you know, he has had problems with the drinking -- and having custody of his kids --

SHEPHERD: Rachel and David Hasselhoff -- there was a video out --
HASSELBECK: The burger.
SHEPHERD: Well, with the burger when he was really drunk and he was going out --
JOY BEHAR, HLN HOST, "THE JOY BEHAR SHOW": You know what? You have a point if he was a good dancer. Then I would say they turned against him. But he is a bad dancer.

HAMMER: Yes, I think it`s both. I think the Hoff clearly had two strikes against him. One, he was a bad dancer on the show, at least, and two, I think that he still does have a problem with the public`s perception of him, because of his personal life, and there`s a real possibility that that may have played into how people voted.
Tanika, what do you think?
RAY: I think that he and the crooner may have split the vote on the `80s machismo thing. I just think that that`s the problem, they both were like, smarmy and like, yo, yuck it up. And he`s still like doing the "Knight Rider" thing. I think that`s just over.
Hoff, you`ve got to get into the 2010s, homie. And unfortunately this might be a massive blow to his ego. As we all know he`s a very confident man.
HAMMER: Yes.
RAY: He`s not going to like this next couple of days.
HAMMER: Well, he -- ego and image I think this is what he needed. I think he needed to do well on the show to move past all of the drama and the great cheese burger incident.

RAY: Absolutely.
HAMMER: So all right, the Hoff is gone. But Bristol Palin and "The Situation" are hanging in there, at least for the moment.
So take a look at what we asked in our exclusive SHOWBIZ TONIGHT poll. "Dancing with the Stars", who is your favorite? And it`s a pretty even split, 53 percent said Bristol, 47 percent said "The Situation" was their fave.
So, let -- let me ask you, Rachel, who do you think is going to be booted off this thing first?
ZALIS: Well, "The Situation" better dance his shirt off next week, is all I can say. If I don`t see some abs, I am not voting for him. No, but --
RAY: That`s what we`re all waiting for.
ZALIS: -- I mean, the truth is, it`s been really -- I know, exactly. But it`s been good for the show. It was up 18 percent, heavily in younger demographics, I mean because the average age has been in the 50s for that show.
So maybe those two can pull in some younger people and keep it going.
HAMMER: Yes, I mean I think there`s a curiosity factor that applies to both of them, which is why I think it was such an even split.

ANDERSON: Imagine if reality stars like Snooki or all those "Real Housewives" had been around in Don Draper`s time. They would have been advertising gold.
Well, Jon Hamm, who plays the "Mad Men`s" big-time ad man, thinks reality stars are basically porn stars. In the October issue of "Details" magazine, Hamm says, "it doesn`t take much to put you on TV. If that`s all you want, you can just be on `The Bachelor` or `The Real Housewives`. That`s not much different than porn."
And that is one of the many reasons we love Jon Hamm.

HAMMER: Well, Brooke, there`s a lot going on in "The Buzz Today".
Demi Moore`s big lawsuit over some photos she really didn`t like.
Katherine Heigl`s brand-new revelations today about balancing motherhood and her career.
And say bye-bye to Cher in Vegas that is.

HAMMER (voice-over): Cher`s Vegas curtain call. Cher just announced she`ll wrap up her show at Caesar`s Palace by early next year. By the time the curtain comes down, she`ll have performed 200 shows and grossed over a reported $400 million after three years on the Vegas strip.
Katherine Heigl`s baby battles: in a brand-new interview, Heigl says balancing life as a mother and a movie star is challenging, but she tells "In Style" magazine, quote, "If I weren`t fulfilling this thing in me to perform to live out my passion, I don`t know that I would be the mom I need to be."
Although Heigl admits, in order to bond with her adopted baby daughter she did have to work less. The full interview hits newsstands Friday.
Don`t mess with Demi. Demi Moore is reportedly heading to Australia next weekend for a big courtroom smack down. She`s going there for the start of the trial for her lawsuit against the publishers of "New Age" magazine for printing less than flattering candid photos of Demi, her daughter Rumor and other stars from a 2008 private closed Oscars party.
In 2008, Demi claimed she made an agreement with party organizers giving her the copyright for the photos.

HAMMER: Well, Demi`s lawsuit is not the only problem that she`s dealing with these days. Demi and Ashton Kutcher getting ready to celebrate their five-year wedding anniversary on Friday.
But today, there may be trouble in paradise. Take a look at the cover revealed today with the brand new issue of "People" magazine. The headline as you see, reading -- "Demi`s Marriage Under Fire".
Now, this, of course, comes after a tabloid report that Ashton has been cheating on Demi with a 21-year-old.
Right now, in Hollywood, Alexis Chiu, she is the senior writer for "People" magazine. With me in New York, Robi Ludwig, who is a psychotherapist and contributor for Care.com.
So on the surface it would seem that Demi and Ashton have a very loving and supportive marriage. And I, for one, am not ready to believe any of the cheating reports. "People" magazine is reporting that their marriage had been strained even before these cheating reports, which Ashton has publicly slammed as untrue.
So Alexis, what is "People" magazine hearing?
ALEXIS CHIU, SENIOR WRITER, "PEOPLE": We are hearing just what you said, that this is a marriage that is under strain, that is under fire. That by all accounts they are putting forth the united front, as they often do and there`s a lot of good things about their relationship but there`s no doubt that right now they are having a hard time.
And a source told us that, as recently as this summer, Ashton confided that, while he loves Demi and is happy being stepfather to her children and does love being married to her, he`s feeling a little restless and might want something more out of life.
HAMMER: All right, well obviously everybody wants to know what the real deal is. And they`re debating it.
And this morning on "The View," the ladies couldn`t believe there would be problems in Ashton`s and Demi`s marriage.
But HLN`s own Joy Behar did bring up that 15-year age gap between Ashton and Demi, as a possible problem. Take a look at what Joy said.

BEHAR: Do you think it has anything to do with the age difference? I mean, she`s 47 and how old --
SHEPHERD: No, because --
BEHAR: She survive --
SHEPHERD: Do you think infidelity has an age?
BEHAR: Well, I don`t think looks have anything to do with cheating, because ugly people cheat and beautiful people cheat.

HAMMER: Robi, you`re a relationship expert.
ROBI LUDWIG, PSYCHOTHERAPIST: Yes.
HAMMER: Does it seem far-fetched to you that given the age difference, Ashton, as "People" magazine is reporting, may be getting a little restless. It was fine at first, but time does march on and I imagine you`ve seen this before.
LUDWIG: I mean it seems a little bit unfair to assume that Ashton is getting a little antsy just because Demi is so much older than he is.
The truth of the matter is, in relationships, people go through stages and cycles. And this may have happened even if he was with somebody his own age. But it does feed into the myth --
HAMMER: Yes.
LUDWIG: -- that younger men eventually will leave their old woman for a younger woman.
HAMMER: Yes and that`s just unfortunate.
Of course, all of this began when "Star" magazine first reported earlier this month the claim that Ashton had been unfaithful, well, he wasted no time at all responding on Twitter.
He wrote this, "I think `Star` magazine calling me a cheater qualifies as defamation of character. I hope my lawyer agrees."
And Demi just turned to Twitter to post these pictures of her and Ashton when he visited Demi on the set of her new movie.
Alexis, what does it say to you that they`re putting this out there?
CHIU: This is not surprising, these are you know some Twitter addicts, self-admitted and so they definitely are using that as a forum to say that things are ok. That he`s now come out --
HAMMER: Yes.
CHIU: -- and said it`s defamation, his lawyer is now coming out swinging. So I think we can look for more. Keep watching via Twitter --

Atlanta`s Matt Diaz cut to the chase with fancy footwork that earned him a standing ovation even from rival Philly fans.
(on camera): It could have been worse. Earlier in the season, at the very same stadium, a fan got tased for running out on the field.
(voice-over): He managed to elude his would-be captors until finally a police officer brought down the 17-year-old with a taser. About 30 seconds after he was tased, he was up and walking under his own power. None of them lasted as long as Drew Barrymore in "Fever Pitch".
The outfielder didn`t lift a finger to stop Drew on her way across the field to get to her boyfriend.
(on camera): And then there was the scourge of mascot on mascot violence. At the Ohio State-Ohio University game the other day, Rufus the Bobcat ran straight at rival mascot Brutus Buckeye and tackled him, losing his head in the process.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It was an adrenaline rush, that`s for sure.
MOOS (voice-over): That`s the aggressor who then assaulted Brutus again in the end zone. It turns out 19-year-old Brandon Henin (ph) had been planning this for years.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Honest to God, that was the whole reason I tried out to be mascot.
MOOS: He was fired as mascot and banned from Ohio University Athletics. Normally mascots do silly things like dance to Lady Gaga and flirt with the ump. But it was more than a love tap seven years ago when an Italian sausage got whacked with a bat by a Pittsburgh player. Mandy Block (ph) was the sausage.
MANDY BLOCK, MASCOT: It wasn`t that big of a blow. It`s just, I think just because I`m so small.
MOOS: The batter, Randall Simon, was fined, suspended three games and gave Mandy the autographed bat. The latest trend is mascots eating people.
At football games, at basketball games -- that`s Mackerel Jordan gulfing down a guy. There`s even a Facebook page, "Mascots Eating People." Where you can watch them spit out the shoes.
These days the basketball court has become a food court for mascots. Who knew a pretty cheerleader could cause acid reflux?
