ANDERSON: Hi, there. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - Mama Mariah. Superstar Mariah Carey confirmed to the world today for the very first time some very super-news, that she`s expecting her first child. Proud dad, of course, is Mariah`s husband, Nick Cannon, who is the host of "America`s Got Talent."
But while the news may not be surprising given all the speculation for months now that Mariah was pregnant, she did reveal a big surprise today that nobody saw coming, that she had actually been pregnant before, a pregnancy that ended tragically. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with the late-breaking developments in today`s Mariah drama.

CAREY: Yes, we are pregnant. This is true.
ANDERSON (voice-over): With those surprising and thrilling words today, Mariah Carey is finally putting to rest years of baby rumors. Today, the music superstar finally revealed that she`s pregnant in an interview with "Access Hollywood`s" Bully Bush that first aired this morning on NBC`s "Today" show.
CAREY: It`s been a long journey but it`s been talked because I`ve been trying to have, like - like I said, to hold on to a shred of privacy and that was not easy.
BILL BUSH, INTERVIEWED MARIAH CAREY FOR "ACCESS HOLLYWOOD": I literally asked one question to her answered and I did not speak again for the next 30 minutes. The floodgates just opened up.
ANDERSON: "Access Hollywood`s" Billy Bush tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Mariah and her husband, "America`s Got Talent" host, Nick Cannon, were eager to share their news in the interview at their New York home.
BUSH: Her husband joined us for half the interview. And it was very intimate. It was late at night and relaxed and the energy was positive. And so she`s got a chance to get all this off her shoulders.
NICK CANNON, MARIAH CAREY`S HUSBAND: Obviously, the greatest gift on earth is a child.
ANDERSON: But along with today`s pregnancy news, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you Mariah and Nick are shocking the world with another announcement today.
BUSH: What Mariah told me was, you know, she did get pregnant, you know, several months after they got married. Unfortunately, she lost the pregnancy.
ANDERSON: From the time Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon suddenly got married in 2008, it seems that every celebrity magazine and gossip site has been on a Mariah baby watch.
BUSH: There were rumors about it for a long time.
ANDERSON: Mariah and Nick tell "Access Hollywood" during a trip to Monte Carlo in November of 2008, they learned that Mariah, indeed, was pregnant.
CAREY: They kept saying, "Well, she`s pregnant." We were like, ha, ha, yes, whatever.
CANNON: She didn`t take the press.

CAREY: Only one person knew about it and we were, like, let`s not tell anybody else.
ANDERSON: And the couple did keep it a secret. Just weeks after the Monte Carlo trip, Ellen DeGeneres tried to use a champagne toast to get Mariah to admit a pregnancy in November of 2008, but Mariah wouldn`t bite or drink.
ELLEN DEGENERES, HOST, "THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW: OK, cheers.
CAREY: Cheers. It`s too early for me. I only drink after 3:00 p.m.
DEGENERES: Yes. You`re pregnant. You are pregnant.
CAREY: No, I didn`t say that. No, no, no.
ANDERSON: But Mariah and Nick`s secret joy didn`t last long. Mariah and Nick revealed today on "Access Hollywood" that weeks after they found out about her pregnancy, she suffered a miscarriage.
CANNON: Literally, the day we were supposed to travel to Aspen, we had an ultrasound and we were with the OB-GYN. And unfortunately, that was a time where he was - he said, "I`m sorry, but this pregnancy is unsuccessful." Her strength to literally be, you know, during the day, so festive and smiling, obviously, for cameras and spending time with everyone - and then, you know, literally at night crying herself to sleep.
ANDERSON: But now, the pain of that secret miscarriage is giving way to the joy of the pregnancy news they`re sharing today, news that fans of the over-40 star feared they might never see come true.
BUSH: I asked her about the in vitro and she said no. They conceived naturally.
MARVET BRITTO, CELEBRITY PUBLICIST: I think it`s exciting.
ANDERSON: And celebrity publicist, Marvet Britto, who represented Mariah for many years, tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT she`s sure Mariah will make a terrific mom.
BRITTO: I think that Mariah Carey`s love, passion and nurturing spirit will really be symbolic of the type of mother that she will be.

ANDERSON: Well, we are just over the moon for Mariah and Nick. And congratulations to our friends at "Access Hollywood" for their big Mariah and Nick exclusive that airs today and tomorrow.
And while Mariah`s pregnancy announcement today was exciting news, she did endure real suffering, too, revealing a past miscarriage. So that brings us to the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint today - did Mariah do the right thing by making this a huge public TV announcement?
Right now, in Hollywood, is Rachel Zalis. She is a contributing editor for "Life and Style Weekly." Also in Hollywood is Carlos Diaz, who is a syndicated radio host.
Hey, guys, of course, we know there has been a Mariah baby bump watch almost from the minute she got married. The world was obsessed. So Carlos, to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, did she do the right thing by making it a huge public TV announcement? I say, why not? It`s her prerogative.
CARLOS DIAZ, SYNDICATED RADIO HOST: Well, you have to, because she has an album coming out, a Christmas album coming out. But no, people would ask - you would ask. You would say, "Are you pregnant?"
So you just diffuse it right there. Secondly, how tough is it to be Mariah Carey in the last few months? Because no one knew about the miscarriage. And here we are, people saying -
ANDERSON: Asking, asking -
DIAZ: Yes. She`s got to come out - you know, why is she talking about it? Some people even being as mean as saying, "She`s fat. Look how fat she is." You know, and it`s like - you know, Mariah Carey, I`ve never admired her more than I do right now because she - and Nick Cannon as well, because she handled it amazingly -
ANDERSON: Yes.
DIAZ: And then she announced it on her own terms. Nick Cannon didn`t lash out at anybody. He just said, you know, we`re going to handle it the way we are.
ANDERSON: They handled it with such class and such strength.
DIAZ: She said, "We`re pregnant," not "I`m pregnant." "We`re pregnant."
ANDERSON: Yes. They`re a team.
(CROSS TALK)
DIAZ: Yes. I mean, she did everything right - everything right.
ANDERSON: And I agree with you. I think, you know, she had every right to announce it on her own terms. She didn`t have to say anything at all if she didn`t want to. Rachel, she was hiding in plain sight for a while, just ignoring all the speculation. Do you think Mariah did the right thing by making this huge public announcement?
RACHEL ZALIS, CONTRIBUTING EDITOR, "LIFE AND STYLE WEEKLY": Absolutely. I mean, come on. It was the worst kept secret since Clay Aiken coming out. But at least, she was able to say it in her own time.
And you know, we have to feel for her. She`s this huge pop star, but she`s also a woman that wants to announce her pregnancy with when she feels comfortable with it. And we can all hope for a happy, bouncing eight- octave baby to come out of her.
ANDERSON: Absolutely. They went through something very painful and it`s all very private. But now, it`s happy news. Congratulations to them.
All right. I got to move now to huge Charlie Sheen news breaking today. We are learning more - aren`t we oh so happy about this? We`re learning more about the porn star who was with Charlie during his alleged drug-fuelled hotel rampage in New York.
OK. This porn star told police that she feared for her life, locked herself in the bathroom when Charlie reportedly went nuts. We also learned today that she goes by the stage name of Capri Anderson.
Let`s take a look at some video revealed by TMZ today. There she is, auditioning for a porn film. And here`s the kicker - Capri is reportedly furious today that people are suggesting she`s a hooker. No, she says, she`s a porn star. How dare they!
You know, Carlos, whether she`s a hooker or a porn star, she was in the hotel room mere feet away from Charlie Sheen`s young kids reportedly screaming at the top of her lungs. It`s also outrageous, also sad.
DIAZ: Well, the thing is, the difference between a hooker and a porn star is a porn star - a hooker gets paid to have sex with a guy - one guy and nobody watches. A porn star gets paid to have sex with a lot of people and everybody watches.
ANDERSON: On TV. Yes, on -
DIAZ: So I`m glad we distinguished that. And she`s not a hooker. She`s a porn star. And the second thing she is now flying to Aspen to press charges? This is the biggest shakedown in the history of shakedowns.
Charlie`s lawyer is Marty Singer. You don`t mess with Marty Singer. Marty has already said so what? Do your best, you know. So the thing is that`s - I can`t believe that Charlie`s been put in the situation. But you know what, though?
ANDERSON: He did it to himself.
DIAZ: He did it to himself. And I`ll say right now, I`ve always been on team Charlie, and Charlie is one of the most honest actors out there. But I`ll say it right now - he needs help because I don`t want to lose the most honest actor out there.
ANDERSON: Right. He`s very transparent and he`s very talented.
DIAZ: Exactly. And that`s the thing. It`s kind of like all my guy friends are like, "Hey, it`s just Charlie being Charlie." Yes, but you know what?
ANDERSON: Deep-seated issues.
DIAZ: There are issues, and if he doesn`t get help, then we might not have Charlie around to say he is our guy kind of a thing.
ANDERSON: Right. Right. And he`s been having these struggles for years and years and years. And to that end, you still want to see Charlie Sheen on TV.
DIAZ: Right.
ANDERSON: You still want to see him acting. A lot of people still want to see his name in lights. But I have to tell you we asked in our SHOWBIZ exclusive poll, "Charlie Sheen: Should CBS fire him from `TWO and a Half Men`?"
Look at these results that came in late today - 38 percent say yes, he should get the boot. But the majority, 62 percent, say no way. Rachel, are you team Charlie as well like Carlos or not?
ZALIS: You know what? I have always been team Charlie because he was like the good-time guy, and he was very honest. But truthfully, I think he`s starting to cross the line.
I mean, there are women being threatened now. I mean, he`s on probation for assault of his wife. We can`t forget that. They found this woman in his hotel, cowering, locked and naked in his bathroom.
So I think these are things that are really starting to influence, you know, the decision the network is going to have to make and the public (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
ANDERSON: Well, absolutely. I`m not going to make excuses for his behavior because it has been destructive and horrible. But the fact of the matter is CBS is not going to hire Charlie Sheen - I mean not going to fire Charlie Sheen as long as he keeps bringing in those ratings.
DIAZ: There`s got to be something. There`s got to be something.

And look who`s talking now. It`s David Arquette. Today, his bizarre brand-new revelation on why he keeps blabbing intimate details about his split from Courteney Cox. That leads to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, should David Arquette just stop talking already?
Right now in Atlanta is Bert Weiss, who is the host of the syndicated radio show, "The Bert Show."
Hey, Bert, David Arquette has had trouble keeping his mouth shut since he split from Courteney Cox. We know that. And today, in a brand-new interview, Arquette tells the Associated Press why he`s still talking.
Arquette says, quote, "A lot of people are going through stuff like that and it just helps to kind of hear a celebrity that`s experiencing the same kind of things."
Honestly, to me, it seems like David really might need to think about his family first, nobody else`s right now. Bert, to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, should David Arquette stop talking already?
BERT WEISS, RADIO HOST, "THE BERT SHOW": Absolutely. I mean, just grow up and shut up already. You know, his messages aren`t really aligned because I think he was on with Regis and Kelly this morning. And he said the reason he`s talking publicly is because he wants to clear his name. So I don`t really think it has a lot to do with helping people out. I really don`t.
ANDERSON: Well, you know, everybody`s been wondering how Courteney Cox feels about David being so candid, so open about their relationship. Listen to what David Arquette told Howard Stern about Courteney`s reaction.

DAVID ARQUETTE, ACTOR: She got really pissed. We talked it all out. You know, I apologized for the parts that were too personal.
HOWARD STERN, RADIO HOST: How soon was the appointment at the therapy?
ARQUETTE: And then, it took a while - it was great. She had a right to get upset about some of the personal details.

ANDERSON: Oh, yes, she did.
WEISS: Yes.
ANDERSON: But here`s what I don`t get. If Courteney was upset the first time David gave intimate details about their relationship, Bert, why on earth do you think he keeps talking? Because he says he wants to save their marriage, but this kind of disclosure indicates otherwise.
WEISS: Yes, his actions and what he`s saying are two totally and completely different things. I think what you`re getting right now is a really good kind of snapshot in what Courteney`s talking about.
She wants a mature man. And you know, they met years and years ago. He was kind of a goof and a fun guy. But it seems like she`s kind of grown out of that now and he`s proving that he`s just not mature enough to be in this relationship.
ANDERSON: Yes. And he said he`s a kid at heart and that`s part of the problem.
WEISS: Yes.
ANDERSON: And you know, Bert, even though David is doing all this talking, I`m thinking we may never hear from Courteney on this. What do you think?
WEISS: I think that`s the smart way to go. She`s got everything to lose. If she just keeps and keeps it private - because they do have a child also involved, you know.
ANDERSON: Yes.
WEISS: So keep the private stuff exactly that - private.
ANDERSON: Yes. And keep the child at the center, just consider that child`s well being from here on out.
WEISS: OK.
ANDERSON: Bert Weiss, thank you. Good to see you.

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It`s 30 minutes past the hour. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - the war over "Mike and Molly."
A great weight debate broke out across the country today over a blog that slammed this top-rated CBS sitcom. "Mike and Molly" is the breakout sitcom hit of the fall TV season. It features an overweight couple who openly express themselves and are not the least bit shy about showing affection.
Well, a blogger, Maura Kelly, triggered outrage when she wrote on the "Marie Claire" Web site this, "I think I`d be grossed out if I had to watch two characters with rolls and rolls of fat kissing each other because I`d be grossed out if I had to watch them doing anything. To be brutally honest, even in real life, I find it aesthetically displeasing to watch a very, very fat person simply walk across a room."
Kelly has since apologized, but some say that`s just not enough, which leads to the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Flashpoint - was it wrong to slam "Mike and Molly" over weight?
Right now, in Hollywood, Meme Roth, president of National Action Against Obesity. Right now, in Hollywood, Ramani Durvasula, who is a psychologist on the Bravo series, "Intervention." She`s a psychology professor at UCLA as well.
OK. The writer tried to make the point that "Mike and Molly" is setting a bad example of people getting too comfortable with obesity. But I don`t think the show is doing that at all.
And I think she was horribly insensitive and really cruel in how she tried to argue that it is. Meme, to the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - to you first - was it wrong to slam "Mike and Molly" over weight?
MEME ROTH, PRESIDENT, NATIONAL ACTION AGAINST OBESITY: Well, I don`t think she did a very good job. I think everyone agrees the blog was insensitive, sophomoric, sensationalized.
But she`s right to slam the show if her only reason that it`s a show of nonstop fat jokes with a laugh track. Here`s the deal - if she had written a blog saying she`d be grossed out if she had to watch two anorexics making out with protruding bones everywhere, nobody would have any problem whatsoever.
Well, guess what? There should not be a double standard. Morbid obesity is called morbid obesity because it means could you drop dead at any minute. It`s dangerous and we`re looking at the effects of a damaged body. That`s what she meant to say. She just didn`t write it very well.
ANDERSON: Well, some people are arguing today that Maura Kelly was just expressing her opinion. But I think this is a lesson to everybody that words can be daggers and, unfortunately, hers were hurtful, disrespectful and I think downright ignorant.
Dr. Ramani, to the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, do you think it was wrong to slam "Mike and Molly"?
DR. RAMANI DURVASULA, PSYCHOLOGIST, BRAVO`S INTERVENTION: I think it was absolutely wrong. People look to these magazines as a source of information and a source of truth. And she`s saying, "I don`t want to watch people because I don`t like how they look basically being intimate, being in a relationship."
That`s not OK. It sends a wrong message to anybody who is struggling with overweight - with obesity or simply just struggling with body image. And so when they look at these magazines for authority, they`re not getting it. They`re just getting (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
(CROSS TALK)
ANDERSON: She also made it sound like it was easy to lose weight.
DURVASULA: Oh, yes.
ANDERSON: But there`s so many issues associated with health and weight. It could be psychological. It could be genetic. You know -

ROTH: But wait a second, Brooke. Wait a second.
ANDERSON: Go ahead, Meme.
ROTH: I think that we would all agree it`s difficult to maintain a healthy weight. But in almost all cases other than rare medical conditions like Prader-Willi or Cushing`s Syndrome or the use of prednisone - in almost all cases, obesity is a result of habitual improper eating. It is not an innate state like race or sexual orientation.
So it`s very different. And what she said is it`s aesthetically displeasing. And I think it is our instinct, our survival instinct, that is repulsed when we see the results of self-injury. That`s the point she was making. And we should be, I think, taken aback when we see the damage done that was brought on by self-destruction.
ANDERSON: Well, everybody`s not repulsed obviously because, Ramani -
ROTH: We should be repulsed by self-destruction.
ANDERSON: The show is obviously a hit. A lot of people are entertained.
DURVASULA: The show is a hit. The show is a hit because people in this country are struggling with overweight and obesity. And the fact of the matter is, everyone doesn`t align with nationally standardized sense of beauty. Some people are overweight. And I think the viewership -

ROTH: wait a second, you guys. Morbid obesity is not beautiful. Wait a second.
DURVASULA: I absolutely - you know what, we`re not simply talking about - listen -

ANDERSON: OK, one person at a time. All right. Let Dr. Ramani speak. Nobody is saying morbid obesity is beautiful.
DURVASULA: No one is saying morbid obesity is beautiful, but we are also saying that there is a pretty wide continuum of what is considered aesthetically-pleasing. You say you came from an obese family.
I used to be an obese woman. I used to weigh 200 pounds, so there you go. I was 32 on the BMI. I understand what it`s like to be there. So I was aesthetically displeasing - so what then? We don`t lock people up because they don`t meet a standard of beauty.
ROTH: The woman - she expressed herself poorly. But I don`t think we want to do a witch hunt. I think we will all agree if she said those same words about anorexia, no one would have a problem. My problem is that`s a double standard.
DURVASULA: I beg to disagree.

ANDERSON: She was so hurtful in the way that she expressed herself.
DURVASULA: I agree.
ANDERSON: I do think this is not any sort of witch hunt.
ROTH: But we all agree she did a poor job.
ANDERSON: The blogger, Maura Kelly, has not shown her face publicly since her blog sparked a controversy.
ROTH: Her editors assigned her this project and I think she`s sort of in hiding. And that`s not - I think that`s indicative of her editors, not so much her.
ANDERSON: Well, you never know. We cannot speculate about why she`s not showing her face right now. But you know, it might be best for now because so many people, including Sharon Osbourne, want to take her down.
On Sharon`s new talk show, "The Talk," Osbourne was really near tears talking about Kelly`s blog making a really startling comparison. Watch.

OSBOURNE: I am so close to tears. If this woman was here, I tell you, she would get such a mouthful from me. People like this are adding to the problem that we have today with our kids, boys and girls, about being anorexic, having low self-esteem. How dare she?
I`m 30 pounds overweight right now. Should I not be allowed to kiss my husband or my children or walk across the room? This is no better than Nazi Germany saying that everybody should be tall, slim, blond, with blue eyes. And that`s the way I feel.

ANDERSON: OK. Sharon Osbourne compares her way - the blogger`s way of thinking to the thinking in Nazi Germany. Meme, is that too extreme?
ROTH: Well, look, Sharon Osbourne is hilarious and she crying big crocodile tears trying to promote her new show. Obesity is not an innate state. And I don`t like drawing comparisons to Nazi Germany when something that`s a result of improper habitual eating. They`re not the same thing. And the reality is, we all are concerned about the obese population and we should intervene.
ANDERSON: Of course, it`s not always improper habitual eating.
ROTH: Almost always.

ANDERSON: And Dr. Ramani, I don`t think those are crocodile tears because Sharon Osbourne herself used to be overweight.
DURVASULA: They`re not - right. They`re not crocodile tears.
ROTH: Not morbidly obese.
DURVASULA: You know - excuse me. Meme, excuse me. We do want to intervene. And the pieces like "Marie Claire" just take the issue of obesity. They make it about shame. And I can tell you as a psychologist we cannot change behavior if we start from a place of shame.
ANDERSON: No, it`s demeaning.
DURVASULA: And this kind of discourse creates a vocabulary of shame around obesity and overweight, and that is not OK.
ROTH: Everyone wait a second. I don`t want to be in the position to (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

ANDERSON: But the one good thing this blogger did is we have started this discussion. Mimi Roth, Ramani Durvasula, thank you both, ladies.
OK. Late today - I`ve got to get to this - a verdict in the Anna Nicole Smith case. After two weeks of deliberations, a California jury has found Anna Nicole Smith`s boyfriend and lawyer Howard K. Stern and one of her doctors guilty on two counts of conspiracy to provide drugs to a known addict and using false names to obtain the drugs.
Stern and the doctor could both reportedly face three years in prison. A second doctor was found not guilty on all counts.
Oprah`s one word war. Oprah really fired up today. She reveals the one word you will never, ever hear on her new network.

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. And there`s big news breaking in "The Buzz Today." Mel Gibson may not have been canned from "The Hangover " sequel after all. There`s a new twist in the case against Michael Jackson`s doctor. And Miley Cyrus` parents are headed to splitsville.

(voice-over) Miley`s parents split. Miley Cyrus` parents just revealed to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT they`re getting a divorce after 17 years of marriage.
Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus tell SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, quote, "As can you imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family. We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers."
The divorce papers, filed by Billy Ray Cyrus in a Tennessee court, cited irreconcilable differences and asked for shared custody of Miley and her two younger siblings.
A dramatic plea in Michael Jackson`s death case. Attorneys defending Dr. Conrad Murray against manslaughter charges in Jackson`s death are reportedly urging the judge to test evidence in two syringes and an IV bag before they dry up.
The Associated Press reports the lawyers claim liquids in one syringe have turned into, quote, "salt" telling the judge, quote, "The house is on fire. We need a hose." They claim the amount of substances found through testing may be crucial to figuring out how Jackson died.
Mel not fired from "The Hangover 2"? The film`s director, Todd Phillips, is now claiming Mel Gibson was not fired from "The Hangover" sequel. Phillips tells "People" magazine, "No one was ever fired. It`s a term that is so obscene to me."
He claims just because it was announced that Gibson was going to be replaced in the film, quote, "Someone was doing me a favor to come in for a two-minute cameo and we changed it. It wasn`t like we fired somebody."

All right. So maybe they didn`t have an official contract or anything with Mel Gibson for that cameo in "The Hangover 2." Even if it was verbal, who knows, the fact of the matter is, Mel was in and now he`s out. Call it what you want.
With me, right now, in Hollywood, Rachel Zalis, who is a contributing editor with "Life and Style Weekly." Also, in Hollywood, Carlos Diaz, who is a syndicated radio host. I`ve got to say I think the director Todd Phillips, who is a very talented guy, may be splitting hairs over this one. Carlos, it seems like a matter of semantics here.
DIAZ: I want you to know right now that I have never been fired in my entire life. My contract has not been renewed, but I have never been fired ever. Things (UNINTELLIGIBLE) as the other.
ANDERSON: Yes.
DIAZ: I mean, yes. He didn`t get fired. He was just asked to never appear on the set. All right. Don`t ever come here.
ANDERSON: He`s trying to temper the language a little bit.
DIAZ: Exactly.
ANDERSON: Well, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT just sat down with the director, Todd Phillips, for his new film "Due Date." And he explained to us why he thought Mel Gibson doing a cameo in "Hangover 2" should have been no big deal. Watch.

TODD PHILLIPS, DIRECTOR, "THE HANGOVER 2": I just thought, you know, "The Hangover" is about irreverence, you know. I think a lot of what people respond to in my comedies in general, whether it`s "Hangover" or "Due Date" or "Old School" is that kind of that irreverent tone.
So not only that, you know, comedy is about taking chances. And I thought, you know, it`s kind of a perfect kill-two-birds-with-one-stone.

ANDERSON: OK. The director thought it was no big deal to have Mel in the film in the first place. So I`m really not surprised to hear this from him. Rachel, do you think he`s kind of splitting hairs now over the way that Mel was let go?
ZALIS: I mean, there are literally, like, screech marks from how fast this guy has backpedaled. I mean, it`s just a fancy way of saying, "You`re fired." Man up. Be the Donald, say you`re fired. No one in the cast wanted him.
ANDERSON: All right. I`ve got to move now from Mel Gibson not being fired in "The Hangover" sequel to the shocking news today about Miley Cyrus` parents splitting up. I`ve got say I`m shocked and pretty sad about this.
Miley is at a very formative stage in her life, already making questionable adult decisions. So Carlos, do you think their splitting up could make parenting and advising Miley even tougher going forward?
DIAZ: She turns 18 in less than a month.
ANDERSON: Well, then it`s all over. So -
DIAZ: Well, I know. I know. One of these things is going to happen. Either she`s going to get mature real quick and come out a stronger person or - and this is what I think might happen and I hate to be a pessimist. You know, I mean, her dad - say her dad starts dating girls who are in their 20`s.
ANDERSON: Don`t, Billy Ray.
DIAZ: That`s what I say. It`s like, you wish that this is not going to go south, but it might go the way of Britney. It could go the way of Lindsay. I mean -
ANDERSON: Let`s hope not.
DIAZ: Yes. You might have somebody who thinks, "Well, I don`t have a family anymore. Let me start my own family, or let me go out and get crazy for attention." This could get really bad for Miley, but I hope it doesn`t.
ANDERSON: Well, Billy Ray Cyrus has been relying on faith and scripture in his tweets -
DIAZ: Right. Right.
ANDERSON: So hopefully, it doesn`t. And he`s asking people to pray for his kids. So hopefully, they are thinking first and foremost about the children. It`s a very sad situation always whenever there`s a divorce, whenever there`s a split. Rachel Zalis, Carlos Diaz, we`ll leave it there. Thanks, guys.
