(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

A.J. HAMMER, HLN CO-HOST: We`ve got big news breaking today on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

Britney Spears battles back against startling claims that a tape reveals she was physically abused by her boyfriend, a tape supposedly of Britney telling all to her ex-husband. Britney`s furious response today.

"Bridalplasty" backlash: Outrage over the unbelievable new reality show where brides to be compete for plastic surgery. I am one-on-one today with the host of the show.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Grab your syringe and go down to the injectable party.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Get ready for the headline making interview you`ll see only on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

BROOKE ANDERSON, HLN CO-HOST: Julia`s Java shocker today. Julia Roberts reportedly paid a million bucks for doing TV commercial for coffee and she didn`t even have to say a word. A $1 million for silence?

Blockbuster changes revealed today for "American Idol." Are they good moves or bad moves?

HAMMER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show --

ANDERSON: Starts right now.

HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

ANDERSON: Hi there everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today.

Britney battles back.

HAMMER: Yes Brooke, Britney Spears is fighting what she says are outrageous lies that her boyfriend beat her. A mysterious tape has surfaced that Britney`s ex-husband Jason Alexander claims has Britney herself admitting to being beaten by her boyfriend. This is a disturbing story of alleged lies and violence.

And at the center once again is the once-troubled Pop icon herself, Britney Spears, fighting for what she claims is the truth.

With me in New York is Vikki Zeigler who is an attorney and author; and right now in Atlanta, Carlos Diaz, he`s the syndicated radio host. And Carlos is also filling in this week for Jane Velez-Mitchell on "ISSUES" right here on HLN.

All right, I`ve got to tell you, having listened to this tape, I have a really hard time believing this is Britney Spears. It really doesn`t sound like her to me at all. The entire story smells fishy to me but I`m going to let you judge for yourself.

Take a listen to this. It`s the tape that was posted on RadarOnline that Britney`s ex Jason Alexander says is a secretly recorded version, a conversation between him and Britney Spears. Roll it.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Your problem is with your fiance.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: That (EXPLETIVE DELETED) is not my fiance. I already told you what went on with that (EXPLETIVE DELETED).

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I thought he proposed to you or something at the beach.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Before or after he beat on me?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. All right, Carlos straight out to you, I -- I`m not buying this at all. What about you?

CARLOS DIAZ, SYNDICATED RADIO SHOW HOST: I`m not buying it and my daddy has got a shotgun and he`s not afraid to use it. Now listen, here`s the thing, it -- the sad thing is -- if you went online this morning, there were still several news organizations saying that this was real. I mean, that`s the crazy thing here.

We live in an Internet society where someone -- any tabloid can -- can, you know, have the story out there and then six or seven pretty reputable Web sites will pick it up as being real.

HAMMER: Yes.

DIAZ: And I`m happy to see that, you know, she`s actually fighting back against this.

HAMMER: Yes and I want to talk about that in a moment.

But Vikki, just hearing that tape, you know, you`ve heard Britney Spears talking for years and it`s pretty damaging to put something like this out there. Are you buying this at all?

VIKKI ZIEGLER, FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY: Absolutely not. It doesn`t sound like her at all. I mean, we just heard a snippet of it. And real serious here, she`s worked so hard for the last couple years. I was following the story when she shaved her head. This is a different person.

HAMMER: Yes.

ZIEGLER: Her reputation is being cleaned up. And for something like this to happen and really be false and put out there for the world to see it`s devastating.

HAMMER: Yes it`s really unfortunate.

I don`t quite get why somebody would want to do this but Britney and her boyfriend Jason Trawick are emphatically denying the entire story today, they`re shooting down the tape. In fact, Britney claims she hasn`t spoken to her ex in years.

Take a look at the statement that just was posted on Britney`s Web site. It says this: "The audio recording posted on RadarOnline this morning purporting to be between Britney Spears and Jason Alexander is so obviously fake as to be laughable. Suffice it to say, that Jason Trawick has never laid a hand on Britney."

Now Carlos, they say they`re planning to sue. I certainly can`t blame them for doing that but should Britney do that or should she just let it go because maybe she`s making a mistake by drawing lot of attention to this?

DIAZ: No, A.J., you -- you have to sue here. I mean, you think about the A-Listers, Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt. When something is written about them that is false, they -- they go after them. I mean, and that`s how -- that`s the only way to weed these things out.

And also, too, Jason Trawick is -- is a very successful employee at William Morris Endeavor. So obviously he wants to protect his reputation as someone who doesn`t beat on women. So yes, they both need to find out the source of this, who made this tape, where it came from and sue the pants off everybody.

HAMMER: All right, well, RadarOnline did post another story late today with even more allegations claiming why Britney didn`t file a police report after these alleged beatings. And Britney replied to the latest batch of allegations doing it short and simple look at that, "BS". And take a look at what the she posted on her site this afternoon. It was this saying -- I don`t think she`s leaving much room for nuance here at all. I do feel bad that she has to go through this all day. It`s her 29th birthday today.

So Vikki, you`re an attorney as I have you on retainer tonight counselor.

ZIEGLER: Yes.

HAMMER: How difficult would it be for Britney to prove in a court of law that`s not her voice?

ZIEGLER: Well, I think we as lay people, me as an attorney, can tell that it`s not her voice on its face. But what happens is there`s qualified forensic experts that go in, they try to authenticate the tape or they`d be -- they`re able to prove that it`s not her voice. So they take a voice recording and they compare it.

I think it`s going to be very easy for somebody to come with their scientific proof, their data, to say listen, this is not her voice, we put it in a report. And that`s going to help her if in fact she is going to file a defamation claim against "Star" magazine, perhaps RadarOnline and any of the other tabloid outlets that are actually posting and pushing the story.

HAMMER: Which really makes you wonder, it boggles your mind a little bit as to why somebody would put something out there unless they actually knew it was her and we`re all sitting here and saying, no, there`s no chance.

ZIEGLER: Right. They were married in 2004. Why is this guy even coming around at this point?

HAMMER: Doesn`t make sense to me. Vikki Ziegler, Carlos Diaz, I thank you both.

ANDERSON: There`s big news breaking today, it is the latest, bizarre twist in a real, live Hollywood murder mystery.

Legendary publicist Ronnie Chasen was shot to death in her car in Beverly Hills just hours after she went to the premiere of "Burlesque" two weeks ago. Well, today the mystery deepens.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that a man whom police called a person of interest shot and killed himself just as cops came to question him about Chasen`s death. Cops are not saying much about the man or the death that has rocked Hollywood.

And right now in Hollywood is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter who has been covering this story all day. Kareen, you just got off the phone with the coroner and the Beverly Hills police department and you`ve got some new information for us, right?

KAREEN WYNTER, HLN CORRESPONDENT: Brooke, let me tell you, Beverly Hills PD, they have shut this case down. Ok, you`ve been covering this along with me since this broke a couple weeks ago and we`ve been waiting all week long for the autopsy report to come in of Ronni Chasen, right?

First we were told Monday. We`ve been checking every single day. It`s been on a security hold. Well, not only will we as the media, the press not have any access to that but the coroner`s office just told us also this guy who shot himself to death here just yesterday, well, that autopsy report is ready but guess what, the press will not be able to see it. We won`t even be able to know who this guy is. They`re not releasing his identity because Beverly Hills police say what -- they want to keep everything under wraps.

And we`re not -- we`re not criticizing the cops here we know that they are privy to a lot more information than we do. But you know what people are scared, not just in this community now with what`s happened here.

ANDERSON: Yes.

WYNTER: So many families who live in this complex behind me but also in Beverly Hills where, you know what, this never happens. They`ve had three homicides -- the people had so far this year. So people want answers and it`s not going to happen any time soon.

(CROSSTALK)

ANDERSON: Yes people are frightened. And speaking of -- you`re right, it happened in Beverly Hills. Ronni Chasen was brutally gunned down in a super exclusive area of Los Angeles. It`s really rattled the community, hasn`t it?

WYNTER: It really, really has. And the Beverly Hills mayor he`s been on such an aggressive PR campaign saying, look, you know what everything is all safe people, let`s not get too rattled, we don`t have to walk around on egg shells but you know what, there seems to be conflict even between Beverly Hills PD and the mayor.

Last week -- you remember this Brooke --

ANDERSON: Yes.

WYNTER: The mayor saying this was targeted; started giving information about this and then distanced himself. So we just don`t know right now.

ANDERSON: Yes, a lot of speculation, a lot of theories flying around surrounding Ronni Chasen`s murder. I hope they`ll solve it soon. Kareen Wynter, thank you so much.

HAMMER: All right, as we move on, "Bridalplasty" Backlash. There`s plenty of outrage over this unbelievable new reality show where brides-to- be compete for plastic surgery.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: And they`re watching these beautiful women. I mean, some of these are very beautiful and very young women on this show clamoring to change the way they look on TV. And if -- and if a young woman watching this, who already has some self-esteem issues, she may say, oh, that`s the answer for me.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: I am one-on-one today with the host of the show, Shanna Moakler. Get ready for the headline making interview you`ll see only on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

ANDERSON: Julia`s Java shocker today. Check this out, Julia Roberts, reportedly paid a million bucks for doing a TV commercial for coffee and she didn`t even have to say a word. Really?

HAMMER: It has been 30 years since Beatles great John Lennon was gunned down in front of his New York City home. Today an exclusive interview with the wife of his killer, Mark David Chapman.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JOHN ROBERTS, CNN ANCHOR (voice-over): Two days after her husband shot John Lennon, Gloria Chapman appeared oddly disconnected. Her answer to one question shocked many people.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Gloria, do you still love him?

GLORIA CHAPMAN: Yes, very much.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: There is an unbelievable new CNN documentary all about Lennon`s killing we`ve got your first look next.

This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN News and Views.

Time for the "Showbiz New Ticker" here`s some more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KATY PERRY, SINGER: -- that is a big deal -- so I feel like a big deal tonight. Thank you. I will definitely be -- be celebrating. It`s a very exciting moment.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Have you heard from Russell yet?

PERRY: I -- I just called him. I mean, I -- it`s the first time I have looked at my phone and there`s like a lot of messages. I might have a meltdown.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Good evening. If you`ve been anywhere near a television set or a radio these past few hours, you already know that John Lennon of the Beatles is dead.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: On December 8th, 1980 time seems to standstill as a horrifying news echoed around the world; Beatles great John Lennon murdered if front of his New York City apartment.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood, A.J. Hammer in New York.

It`s been 30 years since John Lennon was killed. Today, "Losing Lennon", brand new revelations about the man who shot and killed him.

HAMMER: Yes Brooke, over the years we have certainly learned a lot about the man who shot John Lennon, a troubled man named Mark David Chapman. But to this day, you know, not much was known about Chapman`s wife until now.

Today we are hearing directly from Gloria Ave Chapman. The interview is part of a remarkable CNN documentary which airs this weekend. It`s called "LOSING LENNON: COUNTDOWN TO MURDER." And it`s reported by CNN "American Morning" co-host, John Roberts.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ROBERTS (voice-over): It was a remarkable press conference, December 10th 1980.

CHAPMAN: Being a Beatles fan, I mourned the death of John Lennon and feel great sadness for his wife Yoko and his son, Sean.

ROBERTS: Two days after her husband shot John Lennon, Gloria Chapman appeared oddly disconnected. Her answer to one question shocked many people.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Gloria, do you still love him?

CHAPMAN: Yes, very much.

ROBERTS: In this exclusive interview she reflected on those days saying she couldn`t comprehend the enormity of what had just happened.

CHAPMAN: For I guess the first few weeks I was just in a dream kind of thing. I mean, it just didn`t seem real, you know.

ROBERTS: As reality sunk in, it left Gloria wondering what happened to the life she had dreamed of when she first met Mark David Chapman in 1978.

(on camera): She saw him as a sort of a knight in shining armor.

JIM GAINES, INTERVIEWED GLORIA CHAPMAN: She did, she did.

ROBERTS (voice-over): Jim Gaines is one of the only reporters to have interviewed Gloria Chapman. He says she spoke lovingly about her engagement.

GAINES: They were walking on the beach and Mark said to Gloria, "Would you marry me," and she was just ecstatic. And she described it to me as the happiest day of her life. Mark never did.

ROBERTS: Perhaps that was a glimpse into the misery and, she says, abuse that soon followed.

CHAPMAN: I don`t remember what I said but I must have said something sarcastic and he hit me real hard like on my ear and it really kind of sent me, you know, my ears were ringing and stuff. And I had to sit down it was so bad.

ROBERTS: Gloria`s naive dreams of happily ever after vanished all together.

CHAPMAN: The only place you could go for privacy was in the bathroom. I`d just go in there and lock the door and just cry. I can`t take this, you know, how long is it going to be like this? This is miserable.

ROBERTS (on camera): Why do you think she stayed with him all these years?

GAINES: She was faithful. It was a virtue. You obeyed virtues. She was trying to be a good wife in an impossible situation.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: These really are astonishing revelations by Chapman`s wife.

And with me now, John Roberts the co-anchor of CNN`s "AMERICAN MORNING" and the anchor of "LOSING LENNON: COUNTDOWN TO MURDER" it airs on Saturday and Sunday on CNN. Congratulations. It`s a terrific show John.

ROBERTS: It is a really great piece. And (INAUDIBLE) Julia O`Neil who put together a fabulous documentary and the editors down there in Atlanta who put together this amazing piece. It really is quite incredible.

HAMMER: And you learned so much about Chapman`s wife. What shocked you the most from what you learn from her?

ROBERTS: What shocked me the most is what you heard there at the end is that he`s, A, still married to her and, B, she still comes to visit him Atika Prison at least once a year for conjugal visits.

HAMMER: It`s unbelievable.

ROBERTS: Another thing A.J., that really surprised me was -- and we got a chance by talking to Jim Gaines, who`s a writer, who interviewed both of them back in 1985 extensively. He has Mark David Chapman`s calendar for the year 1980 and on it there are all these scribbling and crossings out, this increasingly frenetic pace as he -- as he walked down this path toward murder.

That she knew what was going on. Because he had come to New York in October of 1980 with the intent to kill John Lennon and decided not to do it. She knew about the plan. He convinced her that ok, I`m in the going to do it, threw the gun in the ocean, I`m going to seek treatment. And then he went to New York City in early December of 1980 and killed John Lennon. She could have intervened and she didn`t.

HAMMER: What a terrible moment.

Well, he may never get out of jail that -- that`s how it will be. John -- John Roberts I thank you so much. We`re looking forward to this, this weekend. Make sure you catch "LOSING LENNON: COUNTDOWN TO MURDER" on CNN, Saturday and Sunday night 8:00 p.m. and again, 10:00 p.m. Eastern.

And tune in for a special report on Lennon`s life in America. That will be Saturday at 10:00 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 p.m. Eastern and that is also on CNN.

ANDERSON: Ok, brand new outrage today over the winner of this season`s "America`s Next Top Model."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TYRA BANKS, HOST, "AMERICA`S NEXT TOP MODEL": You have the smallest waist in the world. Can you look at this waist? And how tall are you?

ANN WARD, WINNER, AMERICA`S NEXT TOP MODEL CYCLE 15: I`m 6`2".

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: This was the model that got Tyra Banks in a whole heap of trouble. Tyra seemed to praise the woman for her scary skinny waist. So is picking this model for the win going to back fire on Tyra?

ANDERSON: All right, there are blockbuster changes revealed today for "American Idol." One of them has to do with the way you vote. This affects you. Are they good moves, bad moves?

Also this --

ANDERSON: This is pretty cool. It`s River Dance using your hands and everybody`s talking about it. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN News and Views.

HAMMER: Time to roll out the "Showbiz News Ticker", more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

(MUSIC PLAYING)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: That`s Taylor Swift`s hot new song "Mine" and today she can say a big new award is all mine. Our friends over at "Entertainment Weekly" just named her "Entertainer of the Year". She beat out some pretty big stars, C.J. Franco (ph), Katy Perry, John Hamm. See who else made the list by picking up a copy of the new issue of "Entertainment Weekly" it`s on newsstands Friday.

Angelina Jolie is fighting back today against the people, A.J., who called her, quote, "ignorant" over the movie she`s directing.

HAMMER: Yes Brooke, the Women Victims of War group which is made up of Bosnian rape victims says Jolie is ignorant over 1990`s Bosnian Serb Croat war, the subject of her movie. Well, Jolie is in Paris right now promoting another movie called "The Tourist" and she lashed out.

Listen to what she said, "There`s one person who has a gripe. The absolute majority of the people, population, the cast, prime minister, president have been extremely supportive". Jolie`s film is a love story all about a Serbian man and a Bosnian woman on the eve of the Bosnian war.

ANDERSON: It is time for us to name the Most Provocative Celebrity of the Week. Here are the nominees: Khloe Kardashian for her shocking revelation about losing her virginity at age of 14; Kate Gosselin going on TV again, insisting her kids are fine even though there are reports that a couple of them were expelled from school; And Gyllenswift, Jake Gyllenhall and Taylor Swift, they still won`t say it. Julia`s Java Shocker today. Julia Roberts reportedly gets paid over a million bucks for a coffee commercial.

And anger over the new "America`s Next Top Model" winner, the one with the super small waist Tyra Banks seemed to love.

This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN News and Views.

And now the "Showbiz News Ticker", these are more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CEE LO GREEN, SINGER: At this point -- it`s just a privilege you know, to -- to perform either of the versions; they`re all alternatives. And they`re all equally great. You know it`s like you know, of course, I prefer the original. I`m an adult, I prefer adult entertainment. You know what I`m saying so you know, but just about everybody will be watching the Grammys. So I`ll do the one that`s appropriate to everyone, which should probably be the cleaner one.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Big news breaking today on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

"Bridalplasty" Backlash. Outrage over the unbelievable new reality TV show where brides-to-be compete for cosmetic surgery. I`m going one-on-one with the show`s host Shanna Moakler today.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: And they`re watching these beautiful women and some of these are very beautiful and very young women on this show clamoring to change the way they look on TV and if -- and if a young woman watching this already has some self-esteem issues, she may say, "Ooh, that`s the answer for me."

HAMMER: It`s my headline making interview you`ll see only on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

ANDERSON: Julia`s Java shocker today: Julia Roberts reportedly paid over a million dollars for doing a TV commercial for coffee and she didn`t even have to say a word.

ANDERSON: Too thin to win? Stunning reaction today over the super skinny contestant who just won "America`s Next Top Model."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BANKS: You have the smallest waist in the world. Can you look at this waist? And how tall are you?

WARD: I am 6`2".

BANKS: 6`2".

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Could Tyra Banks be sending a dangerous message to women by picking this woman?

Plus breaking today from the "Showbiz News Ticker", Halle Berry Broadway bound?

And Aretha Franklin`s, surgery shocker.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It`s 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today. Cut the Bride? In an interview you will see only on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, the plastic surgeon and the host of "Bridalplasty", one of the most shocking reality shows on TV right now are setting the record straight today about their brand new show.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You have some breast shape issues with conicle shapes to your breast, right?

You have perfect breast for doing a breast augmentation and then liposuction of the tummy right here in lower part.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Dr. Terry Dubrow and Shanna Moakler, the hosts of the show are guiding brides-to-be as they compete against each other to get plastic surgery before their big wedding day. And I can tell you the headlines about this show have been brutal.

Listen to a couple of these. The "Washington Post" wrote "`Bridalplasty: When reality TV hits rock bottom". (INAUDIBLE) says, "Bridalplasty" a reality competition that`s even more shallow that expected." I asked Shanna how she reacts to headlines just like this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SHANNA MOAKLER, HOST OF E!S, "BRIDALPLASTY": You know, first, a lot of these headlines are from people who haven`t even really seen the show. So they`re making a lot of assumptions on things they don`t know. They`re also I think kind of putting it to other shows that they`ve seen in the past. And it`s -- it`s really not.

One of the reasons I did sign on was because of the companies involved. It was E!, it was Mark Cronyn (ph) of 51 Minds and I knew that it was going to be done very tastefully. And I think that`s where -- where Dr. Dubrow comes in, too because you`re the one who dealt with all the girls and -- and what they were looking forward to doing.

HAMMER: But -- but here is the thing, you know and -- and look, I`m the first to say everybody who has any kind of work done, they have their own personal reasons for it.

MOAKLER: Yes absolutely.

HAMMER: My -- my fear with something like this is always that there are young women out there who are watching this and -- and they`re watching these beautiful women, I mean some of these are very beautiful --

DR. TERRY DUBROW, PLASTIC SURGEON, E!S "BRIDALPLASTY": Yes.

MOAKLER: Yes.

HAMMER: -- and very young women on this show clamoring to change the way they look on TV. And -- and if a young woman watching this already has some self-esteem issues, she may say, "Oh, that`s the answer for me."

DUBROW: Right. Well, hopefully you don`t get your message from a reality TV program, you get it from the home and the dinner table.

HAMMER: Well, yes we always hope that but we also know the reality of the world that we live in.

DUBROW: Right, but for this show in particular, the reality of what we are doing is what`s happening across the board in the U.S. I mean they are -- people have plastic surgery before big events all the time. Maybe 30 percent of my practice is plastic surgery before people get married, after they get a divorce, before any big reunion. It`s just what is happening across the -- across the board.

HAMMER: Yes.

DUBROW: So some of these criticisms are really silly.

HAMMER: I understand that.

I`m just saying it sort of adds to being bombarded already as these young girls are who are not feeling so good with themselves.

But let me ask you about that because you working with pageants and other things that you`ve done.

MOAKLER: Yes.

HAMMER: You have worked, Shanna, with people -- young people throughout your entire life.

MOAKLER: Yes absolutely.

HAMMER: You know what this is like.

MOAKLER: I do. You know, I -- I definitely do also think though what Dr. Dubrow was saying is very important, it does come from the family. And again, we`re -- we`re always giving the message to like -- anything in excess is not good, whether it`s plastic surgery or exercise or dieting. It`s always something that you have to research and educate yourself on and talk to your loved ones like these women talked to their fiances. And you know this was the decision best for them.

HAMMER: Ok, and the way this works if I understand correctly with these women will show up at the altars without the grooms yet having seen the work that they`ve had done?

MOAKLER: Only the winner.

HAMMER: Ok the winner, so -- so Shanna, I`m asking to you marry me it`s based on who you are now, the person I see and know --

MOAKLER: Absolutely.

HAMMER: -- and know about --

MOAKLER: Yes.

HAMMER: Right now, you show up at the altar an altered person, I don`t know, I kind of got a problem with that.

MOAKLER: Well, I think also though, if you`re someone that I`m marrying and -- and also you have to know on this show, yes some girls are there for the wedding and some girls are there for the plastic surgery. But it`s -- it`s so much more personal than that. Some of these girls have real stories about why they want to have these plastic surgeries. And that`s the key. That`s where I think a lot of women are going to be surprised that they`re relating to these contestants.

HAMMER: A lot of comments have been coming in to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on our Facebook wall and -- and through e-mail.

Let me get to a couple of post we got Bethany A. writing, "Where are we going to draw line? When will society start telling women they are beautiful just the way they are? Who decides the definition of beautiful anyway?"

We have this still on the other side and we`ve gotten them on the other side as well. Trudy P., writing, "It`s crazy to me but hey, everyone is entitled to do what they want to do with their own body. If they choose to show the entire world how crazy and superficial they are, totally their choice."

Dr. Dubrow is that kind of how you justify it?

DUBROW: No, not at all. I mean, plastic surgery is a personal decision. Most people hide the fact that they`ve had plastic surgery. This kind of opens the door and shows you that it`s very -- very common to do it before or something like a wedding. But it -- if it`s a personal choice for you and you want to do it and you want to talk about it, that`s fine.

But there have been changes recently. People are now talking a lot more about their plastic surgery.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Well, I certainly get that brides want to look special on their big day but there are so many people who think the show takes it way too far. And we`ll continue to get from them.

All right, Tanika Ray, entertainment journalist, what do you think? Do you agree with Dr. Dubrow, that you know what this is already out there, it exposes these real life lengths that people will go to, to look good for their big day. And we just need to accept that.

TANIKA RAY, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST: Yes, absolutely. It did not start a trend, A.J., it got on the big fat train of a train that was firmly implanted in our society. So when you look at these girls, this is what they know. They`ve watched their favorite celebrities, they`ve watched shows like "Extreme Makeover" and it`s all the rage.

And I do agree with you, it is a problem. That man fell in love with you for a reason exactly the way you are now. Why would you change for that big occasion? But, hey, when it comes down to it, they`re getting a free plastic surgery, which they deem as the biggest reward ever and they`re getting a big, fabulous wedding, which in these -- economic times that`s a big prize.

So I understand 51 Minds is genius. They jumped on board on something that is going to be on for many, many years.

HAMMER: Yes.

RAY: And girls are going to split -- they`re going to hurt people to be on this show. So it`s genius reality television at its best.

HAMMER: All right, I hear you Tanika. Let me bring in Lillian Glass. Lillian, you have a doctorate in psychology. When -- when you see this, is it just crazy to you?

LILLIAN GLASS, AUTHOR, "TOXIC MEN": It`s beyond crazy. This is a disaster waiting to happen. And I don`t think its genius at all. I think somebody did not think this through. Because when you look at other shows --

(CROSSTALK)

RAY: We`re talking about it --

GLASS: -- that have the same premises, we had other shows that had the same premise behind it, many of these people suffered psychologically, depression. This is not a good idea.

HAMMER: All right. Well, if you want to judge for yourself, "Bridalplasty" airs Sundays on E!

But right, now we got to get to more big news breaking today. The controversy over the new winner of "America`s Next Top Model", Brooke Anderson.

ANDERSON: Yes, A.J., the winner, model Ann Ward first sparked controversy when Tyra Banks appeared to be gushing over the model`s teeny, tiny waist. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BANKS: You have the smallest waist in the world. Can you look at this waist? And how tall are you?

WARD: I`m 6`2".

BANKS: 6`2", I like her awkward -- I think her awkward is so right. There`s something about her that I like.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Ok, Tyra Banks did later apologize for how that promo came across but -- but Tanika, Tyra caught a whole lot of heat --

RAY: Yes.

ANDERSON: -- for seemingly praising this model`s super skinny waist. That model won the show.

RAY: Absolutely.

ANDERSON: Like they said, do you think that this is going to create even more trouble for Tyra?

RAY: I`m going to out myself. I am a huge "America`s Next Top Model" fan. I mean, come on, aren`t you in your house like strutting your stuff, kind of smize into the camera. But when it comes down to it, I watched this whole season. This girl is awkward, she`s geeky. She`s a freak of nature when it comes down to it.

And it wasn`t just that that won her the competition. This is Italian Vogue they`re going to win. And unfortunately that`s a different set of beauty standards. And for them awkward and weird and -- and bizarre is what wins out over there and they`d love to --

(CROSSTALK)

ANDERSON: And she says, she`s naturally thin. It`s not any sort of disorder.

RAY: She eats -- she eats like a pig that girl, I watched her on television. She`s like I just can`t gain weight and when you have situation like that.

ANDERSON: Something that --

(CROSSTALK)

RAY: -- we can`t criticize her.

ANDERSON: Ok. Tanika Ray, Dr. Lillian Glass, thank you both ladies.

HAMMER: I`ve got to move on now to Julia`s Java shocker. Julia Roberts, reportedly getting over a million bucks for appearing in this brand new coffee commercial and get this she doesn`t have to say one word in this spot. How do I get a gig like this?

ANDERSON: Yes a good question. Well, there are big changes coming to "American Idol". So will these moves be good or bad for the show?

And did you see this? Give them a hand.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

(IRISH HAND DANCE DELIGHT)

ANDERSON: What this dancing duo does with their hands absolutely astounding and probably hurts like heck, too.

This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN News and Views.

HAMMER: Time to roll out the "Showbiz News Ticker", these are more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BRUNO MARS, SINGER: Like I said, we worked so hard. And I think we`re just happy, you know, that our hard work is getting acknowledged by the biggest association as far as music.

I`m going to shed a tear.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: We are back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood, A.J. Hammer in New York.

And today there is big buzz over Julia Roberts` stunning new project.

HAMMER: Yes and for good reason Brooke, it`s Julia`s million dollar minute. That`s not even quite a minute. There are new reports out today that Julia Roberts was paid an astonishing $1.5 million to appear in an Italian coffee commercial that`s only 45 seconds long. And here`s the real kicker. Julia doesn`t say a word in this spot. Now that`s rich.

With me in New York, Rob Shuter is a columnist for PopEater.com and right now in Hollywood, Kim Serafin, she is senior editor with "In Touch Weekly".

All right, we`ve got to take a look at this commercial that everybody is talking about today. Here now Julia Robert as an angel in a coffee commercial for the Italian coffee company, Lavazza. Take a look.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

(FROM LAVAZZA COMMERCIAL)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes, you know what she was thinking when she was winking, "grazie". Now SHOWBIZ TONIGHT do the math, take a look at this. If Julia got paid a reported $1.5 million for that 45 second ad, that means she made $33,000 a second. A lot of people obviously think that is just outrageous.

But Rob look, Julia is a huge star. I think she`s given the coffee company well more than their money`s worth. I mean, we just played the spot for goodness sake. Don`t you think she deserved everything she got?

ROB SHUTER, COLUMNIST, POPEATER.COM: I think Julia Roberts is one of those ladies that is known throughout the world for her face. She really isn`t known for her voice, she doesn`t have one of those voices that really stands out. In fact, she has sort of like a very average voice. What makes Julia Roberts, Julia Roberts is that big smile --

HAMMER: Yes.

SHUTER: -- that beautiful face. So they paid her really for what she is valuable for, that smile.

HAMMER: Yes I didn`t do the math on how much it was per tooth that you can see. But wow, does she have a smile.

And now Julia obviously not the only A-list celebrities who has cashed in on foreign TV commercials. It`s a pretty big deal for some big names, Brad Pitt`s done it, Clooney has done it. I think if these celebrities can get paid a million dollars to make a commercial and not say a word, good for them.

Kim Serafin, anything wrong with stars cashing in like this?

KIM SERAFIN, SENIOR EDITOR, "IN TOUCH WEEKLY": Not at all. And by the way, I think you`re just downplaying what Julia was doing the kind of acting she was doing in that commercial. I mean, she sighs, she looks exasperated, she winks. She takes a sip of coffee. So I mean, that is Oscar-winning acting right there.

HAMMER: Perfect.

SERAFIN: And that makes me want to go out and buy Lavazza coffee right now.

HAMMER: Yes you go ahead because while you`re doing that there`s even more big news breaking today.

I`ve got to tell you about big changes on "American Idol."

Nate Berkus rushed to the hospital.

And Wesley Snipes is ordered to prison.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER (voice-over): Wesley Snipes in prison stripes. U.S. Marshalls have ordered to report to a federal prison in Pennsylvania by December 9th, he was sentenced to three years behind bars for failing to pay millions in taxes to the U.S. government. A bunch of stars have been writing letters to the judge to try and keep Snipes out of prison but that didn`t work. Snipes` lawyers say they will appeal the sentence all the way to the Supreme Court.

Berkus back home recovering, talk show host Nate Berkus is resting comfortably at home after having emergency surgery to take out his appendix on Tuesday. "The New York Post" reports it was Berkus`s talk show buddy Dr. Oz who diagnosed Berkus. Berkus called Oz who told him to get to the hospital ASAP. Berkus is scheduled to be back in work taping shows next week.

More big changes for "American Idol." VoteForTheWorst.com reports that for the first time fans will be able to vote online and TV Guide ads that the round that trims the 24 semi finalists down to 12 finalists has been canned. "Idol" will cut the Hollywood round pool right to 12.

Some other new stuff: contestants will compete to make the best video and to work on an award show type of performance that will have them working with a band of dancers. The new "American Idol" season kicks off January 12th.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Just the kind of changes Rob that "American Idol" needs to make?

SHUTER: No, just tinkering. These aren`t big changes, there`s one big change to "American Idol," and it`s called Jennifer Lopez.

HAMMER: All right, we`ll have to see how that works out.

In the meantime, Rob Shuter, Kim Serafin, I thank you both.

Hands down this is the coolest thing that I`ve seen in a long time. Did you see this?

These Irish dancers usually do their fancy dancing on their feet so why are they doing all these fancy moves with their hands?

It`s time now to roll out the "Showbiz News Ticker" with more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

(COUPLE PERFORMING IRISH DANCE STEPS WITH THEIR HANDS)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Did you see this? This is one of the best videos I have seen in a long time. Its fancy dance steps for your hands.

What they can do with their hands is -- is really incredible. It`s impressive to watch. Suzanne and Peter are Irish dancers, they perform in those River Dance shows.

Peter just told Rachel Ray this morning why he and Suzanne are giving their feet a rest and letting their hands do all the work.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PETER: We Irish dancers are doing shows like River Dance and Magical Dance for many, many years and we want to do something completely different with Irish dance and make it kind of cool and hip. We in the 21st century, so we decided to do something completely different and do what we do with our feet on our hands.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: A.J., I wonder if the Patty Cake cats can do that.

HAMMER: That`s pretty funny. I want to see some more of that fancy hand dancing. Roll some more for me Charles would you.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

(COUPLE PERFORMING IRISH DANCE STEPS WITH THEIR HANDS)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: That`s pretty cool. Now Peter and Suzanne also revealed that they used to practice their dance routines for their feet using their hands. So I guess that`s why it transferred so well -- Brooke.

ANDERSON: Yes, probably so.
