A.J. HAMMER, CO-HOST: We`ve got big news breaking today on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT - the shocking star connection to the tragedy in Tucson, including Gwyneth Paltrow`s family ties.
The heartbreaking star link to the nine-year-old girl who was shot to death. And Jane Fonda`s unbelievable outrage at Sarah Palin.
BROOKE ANDERSON, CO-HOST: Keeping up with the lawsuits. The Kardashians sued today for tens of millions of dollars.

ANDERSON: Hi, there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - Hollywood`s remarkable ties to the tragedy in Tucson.
HAMMER: Yes. Absolutely startling and heartbreaking star connection surfaced today to the massacre in Arizona that included the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and a nine-year-old girl.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT learned today that Gwyneth Paltrow is a cousin of the congresswoman. We also learned today that a major TV star is a cousin of a little girl who was killed.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can also tell you that they are not the only stars who have been affected by this senseless tragedy as incredible new stories surface on television today about what went on as the bullets flew.

(voice-over) From Washington to Arizona to Hollywood, the horrific shooting in Arizona that wounded U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and killed six others is uniting the entire nation in grief.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Let`s head to the south lawn of the White House for a moment of silence.
HAMMER: This morning, just about every channel carried today`s national moment of silence to honor victims of this tragedy.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: With regard to Congresswoman Giffords` recovery, at this phase in the game, no change is good and we have no change.
HAMMER: Along with the frequent updates on Giffords` condition, the airwaves today were also filled with heartbreaking stories about another victim, nine-year-old Christina Taylor Green.
She is the youngest of the six killed Saturday when an alleged would-be assassin started shooting in a Tucson supermarket parking lot. Fourteen others, including the apparent target, Congresswoman Giffords, were wounded.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: She (UNINTELLIGIBLE) a lot of people.
HAMMER: This morning, CBS` "The Early Show," as well as the other broadcast morning news shows aired interviews with young Christina`s devastated parents. They talked about the sad irony that their daughter was born on the day of another national tragedy, September 11th, 2001.
ROXANNA GREEN, MOTHER OF CHRISTINA TAYLOR GREEN: She really didn`t look at 9/11 as so much a tragedy as the rest of us did. She looked at it as an opportunity for change, for hope. She just kept on saying everything`s going to get better. People are going to start loving each other more.
HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you the grief from the shooting is being felt in Hollywood. Gwyneth Paltrow`s representative confirmed to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT she and Congresswoman Giffords are distant cousins.
In a statement, Paltrow tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, quote, "Although I have never had the pleasure of meeting Congresswoman Giffords, my thoughts and prayers are with her and her family, as well as the other victims of this horrible act of senseless violence."
Actress Sophia Bush says she`s related to young Christina Green. On Twitter, Bush writes, quote, "There are no words to explain what my cousin`s family is going through in Arizona. How can this be? Violence is never the answer."
AMY ARGETSINGER, "WASHINGTON POST": This has really struck a nerve with a lot of people. It`s such a huge, tremendous and unprecedented tragedy.
HAMMER: But SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you some celebrities are respond together tragedy in Tucson with anger, particularly at Sarah Palin.
During last year`s campaign season, Palin placed on her Facebook page a map that put crosshairs over several Democratic-controlled Congressional districts. Giffords` district was included.
ARGETSINGER: There has been some amount of finger pointing saying this was inappropriate talk.
HAMMER: There`s nothing to indicate the alleged shooter was influenced by Palin. And Palin herself has expressed condolences to those affected by the shooting.
Still, actress and activist Jane Fonda is indeed blaming Palin. Fonda tweeted, quote, "Sarah Palin holds responsibility, as does the violence- provoking rhetoric of the Tea Party.
BARBARA WALTERS, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER AND CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": To blame Sarah Palin, as some are doing, I think is very unfair to her.
HAMMER: The whole issue sparked a heated debate this morning on "The View."
WALTERS: I don`t think this is the time now to start finding, excuse me, other targets to blame.
SHERRI SHEPHERD, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": There are those people who did do the crosshairs and have Giffords` name down there. You`ve got to go to bed at night and go, "Did I have something to do with it?"
HAMMER: But despite the political debate, it`s the human tragedy of the shooting that`s getting the most attention today in the media and from celebrities.
Paula Abdul tweeted today, quote, "Life is so precious, too precious to waste on hate and violence." From silence to sadness to anger, we`re seeing a wide range of emotions play out on TV and online today as the nation reacts to this horrible and historic tragedy.
ARGETSINGER: For something like this to happen, it`s just got to really hit home with a lot of people. People are very upset to watch this all happen.

HAMMER: I think everyone is still obviously trying to process what happened in Arizona and why. It is certainly clear that the shooting struck a major cord in Hollywood but did some Hollywood stars go a little too far in pointing the finger at Sarah Palin?
Now, the map that Sarah Palin posted on her Facebook page with those crosshairs all over the U.S. has been taken down. But stars like Jane Fonda said, "You know what? That`s not enough. And yes, Palin bears some of the blame for the violence."
Listen to what she tweeted, "Sarah Palin holds responsibility, as does the violence-provoking rhetoric of the Tea Party."
I want to bring in radio host, Cooper Lawrence, who is also the author of "The Cult of Celebrity."
Cooper, I get why Fonda is so fired up. I totally understand it, but do you think she went too far in the way that she cornered Sarah Palin as she did?
COOPER LAWRENCE, SYNDICATED RADIO HOST AND AUTHOR: The thing we love about celebrity is that, in a lot of ways, they reflect us, what we are feeling, what we`re thinking at the time.
And I think there`s a lot of people that do fall into the category of "I agree with Jane Fonda." Then, there`s people that don`t. But I think they are a good reflection of what`s going on in society right now.
HAMMER: Yes. I agree. Absolutely, 100 percent. They`re sort of mirroring what is happening.
LAWRENCE: Sure.
HAMMER: And so many discussions that are going on all over the country, not just in Hollywood. We heard Gwyneth Paltrow call this a senseless act. Sophia Bush called the death of her second cousin, nine-year-old Christina Green, devastating.
And the ladies of "The View" - they were debating the tragedy. Today, Barbara Walters defended Sarah Palin right there. Take a look at what happened.

WALTERS: Whether this happened because there is violence - you know, too much commentary, too much violence as you say. Sometimes we do it here when we get so angry. Whether that really spurred him on or whether he`s just a very sick person, we don`t know.
We don`t know what his motives are. And we can hope that all the vitriol calms down. But to blame Sarah Palin, I think, as some are doing, I think is very unfair to her.

HAMMER: I do want to throw this out to Tatyana Ali, who is in Hollywood. She is the star of "Love that Girl" that premieres today on TV One.
Tatyana, obviously, we know, particularly working in television, imagery can have such an impact on so many people in ways we can never even imagine.
But are you with Barbara Walters here? Do you feel bad for Sarah Palin she kind of got dragged into this?
TATYANA ALI, ACTRESS: I think that our leaders have a responsibility for the type of language that they use, for the type of rhetoric that they use.
And while the shooter, who was trying to assassinate this woman - I mean, it is an assassination, that`s why people - why it`s so terrifying to all of us.
Even though he might not have directly even seen her Web site, there`s still an energy that was created by the violent rhetoric that was used by the Tea Party and used by people like Sarah Palin.
I mean, the symbol, the image of the cross hairs, it affects all of us. So there is a link that people are making that I think is true and is definitely relevant. I don`t think that should be ignored at all.
HAMMER: I don`t either. And I think while you certainly may not be able to place direct blame, I think maybe everybody in the media and who has impact with the images may need to take a step back and say, "Oh, let me reconsider the type of imagery that I`m putting out there."
But let me move on right now, because I want to lighten things up a little bit with what I thought was some rather surprising news today about Sarah Palin`s TV show.
"Sarah Palin`s Alaska" has been a huge hit for TLC. However, Palin is supposedly saying bye-bye to the show. Brooke, what`s going on here?
ANDERSON: Well, A.J., Sarah Palin`s TLC show, "Sarah Palin`s Alaska" is reportedly not returning for a second season. Now, that is really fueling big buzz that she`s making room for a 2012 presidential run.
But I`ve got to say, it`s unclear why this show is not coming back because it was considered very successful. It brought in an average 3.2 million viewers. If she stays on with the show, she would probably get millions and millions of dollars.
That leads me to the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint today - is Sarah Palin making the right decision here? Cooper, what do you think?
LAWRENCE: You know, you go on a reality show because you want to be provocative. You want to say interesting things. You want us here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT to talk about you.
Sarah Palin didn`t have any of that. She kind of like sat around and, you know, discussed things and they went shooting and baked cakes. There was not a lot of controversy to it.
So all she wanted from that show was to be likable, to have people go, "You know what? I could see her as president. I would have a coffee with her." And mission accomplished. That`s all she wanted was to be liked and show people who she really was.
ANDERSON: So she did what she wanted to do.
LAWRENCE: She did what she came to do.
ANDERSON: And maybe now she`s getting out.
LAWRENCE: Exactly.
ANDERSON: Well, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT reached out to TLC for comment. The network has not responded as of show time today. Tatyana, let`s say that Sarah Palin does leave the show, does run for president but then possibly loses.
To the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, do you think she would regret leaving this gold mine?
ALI: You know, I just want to see Sarah Palin finish one thing, like her governorship or just to stick with something. I mean, I understand, you know, leaving something and going for the bigger opportunity. But it really - that personally makes me -
ANDERSON: So you think she should stick around for another season?
ALI: I think she should stick around and do something so that if she does run for president I`ll know she won`t leave us high and dry.

A.J., I`ve seen the movie. It`s very dark, really twisted and extremely disturbing, but done very well. And Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis` performances are really stellar.
HAMMER: Yes. And I think what just happened over the weekend it could actually help Natalie Portman in her campaign to win some awards this season.
"Saturday Night Live" just did this very hilarious swan spoof. Jim Carrey was the guest host. Always a good time with him. You`ve got to check this out.

ANDERSON: He looks nice in a tutu. OK, the man with the golden voice, Ted Williams, who, up until a week ago, was panhandling on the streets of Columbus, Ohio is getting a brand-new big, big offer today from the queen of television herself, Oprah Winfrey.
With me, right now, in Hollywood, is Kelley Carter, who is an entertainment journalist.
And I`ve got to tell you, in a brand-new interview revealed today, Oprah Winfrey says that she wants the formerly homeless Ted Williams on her newly launched network, OWN.
Listen to this. Oprah tells "Inside Edition," I would like to see him be part of OWN. It would be fantastic who hear him say "The Oprah Winfrey Network."
She goes on to say, "The reason we`re all so fascinated, I think, is because it means can you be homeless on the street, carrying a sign like we`ve all seen, and this can happen to you."
Oprah is completely right on. Kelley, if Oprah made an official offer to Ted, it would be a no-brainer for him to sign up, wouldn`t it?
KELLEY CARTER, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST: It`s an absolute no-brainer. I mean, Oprah Winfrey is the queen of all media, and we worship at her throne. She can make you famous beyond your wildest dreams. I mean, if she extends this opportunity to Ted, he`d be foolish not to jump on it.
ANDERSON: Sign on that dotted line.
CARTER: Without question.
ANDERSON: Well, we`ve reached out to Oprah today to see if she has made an official offer to Ted. but we haven`t heard back from her as of show time.
But Kelley, let me ask you this. Oprah is giving Sarah Ferguson her own show about rebuilding her life. I`m thinking maybe she could do the same with Ted Williams here, possibly give him his own show.
CARTER: Absolutely. You know, he`s got a story that resonates with a lot of Americans, especially in a slump economy.
I mean, his is something to be marveled. His story is going to be (UNINTELLIGIBLE). Even people with jobs are struggling right now. So to see someone go from carrying a sign on the streets one day to really being, you know, extended job offers and telling his story, talking about how he`s been able to overcome sobriety the next day is really, really remarkable.
ANDERSON: A story of redemption that is truly inspiring.
CARTER: Absolutely.
ANDERSON: Well, Ted has reportedly received a ton of offers. Get a load of this showbiz update week out today - a possible appearance in a Super Bowl ad. NFL Films is apparently talking to him about voiceover work. Air Tran Airlines is offering to fly him for free. Dentists are offering him free dental work. Psychiatrists are even offering him free counseling.
Kelley, very quickly, no danger here of him getting overexposed, though?
CARTER: You know, not yet. I think people still want to learn a little bit more about his story so I don`t think that we`re quite - and he`s not gracing, like, every supermarket magazine cover right now, too. So -
ANDERSON: Right. There`s that. Yes.
CARTER: Exactly.
ANDERSON: If that happens, there the danger, but not yet.
CARTER: Then, we`re over it. Exactly.
ANDERSON: Kelley Carter, thank you so much. Take care.

HAMMER: Good news for Michael Douglas today from Michael Douglas. He tells the "Today" show`s Matt Lauer that his throat tumor is gone and he`s beaten cancer. This is amazing.
In his very first TV interview since undergoing treatment, Douglas says he still has to get checked out monthly but he`s in good shape. You can see the interview with Michael Douglas on "Today," Tuesday.
More happy news today, our good friend Sherri Shepherd just revealed she`s engaged.

So Sally bought the little guy a videogame for Christmas. And A.J., Sherri`s son OK`d the proposal, but was more interested in playing with the game.

HAMMER: Oh, yes, Brooke. This is big. "Jersey Shore," of course, the most watched MTV series ever breaking all kinds of records. And now, the "Shore" gang is all over the Internet in some hilarious new videos.
But the question is which one is best? Well, it is time now for our favorite game, love it or hate it? And we do need to get started with the "Jersey Shore" dueling viral videos, two brand-new totally viral "Jersey Shore" videos making news today.
Let`s roll out the first one. It`s the men from "Jersey Shore" bopping, and I mean that literally. They are bopping to a Miley Cyrus song in a crazy video they made on the board walk, where else but the "Jersey Shore." Roll it, Charles.

HAMMER: I don`t know about you, it makes me feel warm and gooey all over. I want to bring in syndicated radio host, Brotha Fred. Now, Brotha Fred this is pretty hysterical. Love it or hate it? Come on.
BROTHA FRED, SYNDICATED RADIO HOST: I want to know what the warm and gooey thing is all about, but I hate it. I hate it because I don`t get it because a million plus people watch this show, the season premiere last week. But I don`t get it. Mindless, dumb - not my thing.
HAMMER: OK. I don`t know. But if you put that together with the Miley Cyrus and the bopping heads, no, I guess not. And that`s just one side of this "Jersey Shore" showdown.

OK. Let me be very clear there. They`re not saying "I am not a bore." It`s something else entirely. Let me go to entertainment journalist, Kelley Carter. Now, Kelley, you`ve soon both of the "Jersey Shore" dueling viral videos. Which one do love more? I know it`s tough.
CARTER: I love the boys. I love the boys. I mean, because the truth is if your self-esteem is high enough when you`re over the age of 25 and you own up to liking that Miley Cyrus song anyway, and also if your self-esteem is high enough, you own up to loving the "Jersey Shore" boys. I`ve got to go with the boys.
HAMMER: Yes. It`s a "Party in the USA" and on the "Jersey Shore." Brooke Anderson, now - I want to go to you, Brooke, because I know you have very discerning taste. Which one of these, may I say, two bombastic "Jersey Shore" viral videos do you love more? And again, I realize the level of difficulty in picking just one.
ANDERSON: No, no, no. It`s not hard to choose at all. I want to get it out of the way off the bat, A.J., that I hate the girls` video. It was not entertaining to me. It was more like punishment.
They`re just drunk or getting drunk, dancing, singing to a song that`s horrible. I just kept waiting for it to end. But I loved the boys` video. It`s cute. It`s fun and there`s something about being said about being so willing to make yourself look ridiculous in an innocent way for fun. I loved it.
HAMMER: Brooke, that was much more intense and in depth it than I could have possibly imagined for a review of those two viral videos. That was fantastic. I don`t know what more we can say.
So we have much more to get to, because it is a very special edition today on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT of "Love It or Hate It?"
And wait until you hear this. You have to listen to something I ran across over the weekend. It`s a lovely gem of a song. It`s Michael Lohan`s tribute to his daughter, Lindsay Lohan. It`s - how shall I say - very creative and thank goodness for auto tune. Roll it out, Charles.

OK. Now, I want to be clear that is not Michael Lohan singing, it`s his words to his daughter, Lindsay. Brotha Fred, the song is so bad I actually do kind of love it. What do you say, love it or hate it?
BROTHA FRED: Well, first of all, "warm and gooey," I believe was the quote from before. That`s how I feel. It`s creepy. The whole thing is creepy to me that he would write a song about his daughter.
If he really wanted to get publicity, which is what he`s all about, he needs to get Ted Williams, the homeless guy, to read it in, like, prose form. That`s what he`s got to do. That, right there, not good.
HAMMER: OK. I don`t think we can get Ted Williams to do today. But I`ll bet in just a moment after she renders her opinion, maybe we can coax Brooke Anderson into reading some of those lyrics? But for now, Brooke, love it or hate it on the Michael Lohan words of wisdom to daughter, Lindsay?
ANDERSON: I hate it. I hate it, A.J. I mean, I know he means well. But come on, why does he even subject himself to the criticism and the humiliation?
Simon Cowell would lose it over this song. But Kelley, I want to bring you in here, you`ve got to admit Michael Lohan really wants the world to know that he loves his daughter, Lindsay Lohan. He`s got great intentions.
But the song is not going to go down in the books for the most clever lyrics. I mean, we get it, Lindsay is his red, red, red, red, red rose. Do you love it or do you hate it?
CARTER: I hate it. I hate it. And clearly, Michael Lohan didn`t listen to Jay-Z. Didn`t he declare death of the auto tune a couple of years ago? Stop the madness, Michael Lohan. We know you love your daughter, but we do not love your song.
ANDERSON: Stop the madness.
HAMMER: Brooke, you`re letting me down. I expected more of an interpretive reading. Can I get something from you, red rose, red rose? No? Not going to happen?
ANDERSON: Red, red, red, red rose. That`s as good as it`s going to get right now.
HAMMER: Let`s move along so we can bring Lindsay herself into this special game of SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, "Love It or Hate It?"
Now, you`ve got to check out this brand-new photo of Lindsay Lohan. Look at her. Can I blow it up? Oh, I can blow it up. It`s magic. Her hair looks good, Brooke. It`s very blond. I think she looks terrific. Put me down for love it on this. What about you?
ANDERSON: Yes. You know, there`s nothing like a trip to the salon, A.J., for a woman to feel refreshed and good about herself.
I mean, a lot of us tend to - we`re tempted to overdo it with the peroxide every now and then, but I love it. I think it`s a sign that she`s doing well. She`s taking care of herself.
And she looks great. She`s having a good time. So I love it. Good for Lindsay Lohan. Brotha Fred, what do you think about the hair? Loving it, hating it? What do you think?
BROTHA FRED: Brooke, I love it and I think what was going on is a bit of a camouflage because she moved into next to her ex-girlfriend, Samantha Ronson, so it a camouflage thing.
That way, the ex-girlfriend will look over and say, "I don`t know who that person is. She looks totally different." And by the way who does that? Who moves in next to their ex? Who wants to be in the same state as their ex?
ANDERSON: She`s in disguise, Brotha Fred says.
BROTHA FRED: Exactly.
CARTER: I love it. I love it. I mean, she looks amazing. Her skin looks fresh, too. She looks like she`s really kind of renewed herself and is ready to reintroduce herself with the blonde, new Lindsay.

SHOWBIZ iReporter, Julio Ortiz, captured dozens of pant-less people on the No. 6 line here in New York City where I`m located. So why were so many people eager to drop trou?
Well, it was no pants day. Yes, no pants day. It was started 10 years ago by the group, Improv. Everywhere, its mission - to cause scenes of chaos and joy in public places. I don`t know about where you live, but nothing says joy like people dropping their pants in the subway in New York City.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York City with Brooke Anderson in Hollywood.
And is what you`re about to see possibly swift revenge, Brooke?
ANDERSON: Potentially, A.J., yes. Taylor Swift may or may not have been dating Jake Gyllenhaal but now that whatever the heck they had is over, Jake may want to brace himself for the inevitable "you ripped my heart out, now I`m going to rip you" Taylor breakup song.
There isn`t an official Gyllen-Swift breakup ballad yet. But "PopEater.com" has come up with its own version based on all of those pictures of the couple canoodling on copy day.
So I give you right now the soon-to-be-classic, "You Left My Heart in a Coffee Cup."

I`ve got to bring in Ben Widdicombe now. He`s a celebrity journalist. Ben, did they nail it?
BEN WIDDICOMBE, CELEBRITY JOURNALIST: I think they really did. You know, I think SHOWBIZ TONIGHT should do a special investigative report on why Taylor can`t keep a PR boyfriend.
I mean, she`s had all these high profile romances with Taylor Lautner, with John Mayer, and now, with Jake Gyllenhaal, but she can`t keep them around. She should date Kevin Spacey because you know he won`t be going anywhere.
ANDERSON: Well, Taylor may be doing it intentionally because there`s always those creative songs that she comes up with after the fact. Radio host and author, Cooper Lawrence is here. Now, Cooper, what do you think? I think the song is pretty funny.
LAWRENCE: There`s what we love about her. I mean, she writes her own music. What pop star does that? And she needs to draw from her real-life experience.
So my suspicion is she sabotages her relationship so she`ll have something really juicy and real to write about. And that`s what her fans love about her, because we can all relate to those types of breakups. So I`d say, you know, she should know what she`s getting into.
ANDERSON: She`s still young. She`s got plenty of time to settle down. She`s focusing on that career right now. OK. I`ve got to move on from star breakup to baby joy. It`s all making news in "The Buzz Today."
The Beckhams are adding to their little soccer team. "Glee" is not saying "forget you" to Gwyneth Paltrow - breaking news for Gleeks today. And big news about why some high-powered lawyers are keeping up with the Kardashians.

New Kardashian card controversy. Kim, Kourtney and Khloe have just been slapped with a huge lawsuit for backing out of a deal to front a debit card. The company behind the prepaid MasterCard filed suit in Fresno, California claiming the Kardashians breached their contract.
And now, Revenue Resource Group is demanding the women fork over more than $75 million. The sisters claim they quit the deal because they didn`t know the card was loaded with hidden fees, fees that caused the attorney general of Connecticut to open an investigation into the card.
Big Beckham baby news. David and Victoria Beckham have just announced they have a brand-new baby on the way. The couple`s spokesman has just confirmed the news to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT saying, quote, "They are expecting their fourth child in the summer. Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are very excited about the arrival of their new brother or sister."
Gwyneth`s gleeful return times two. It`s just revealed that Paltrow will be reprising her role as Holly Holiday for two episodes of "Glee" in the spring. And she`s going to be getting it on with Mr. Schuster, played by Matthew Morrison.
Co-creator Ryan Murphy told "EW.com," quote, "Those two have become really good friends in real life and had really good chemistry. She`s coming back as a sex education teacher. Gwyneth and I are E-mailing, talking every week, what are we going to sing? We`re trying to do something fantastic." Gwyneth will be shooting "Glee" for three and a half weeks this month.

HAMMER: I was very happy to hear that. I thought she was terrific when she first appeared on "Glee." Well, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you it might not be a totally gleeful day for Gwyneth.
We did learn today that her new movie, "Country Strong," had a terrible opening weekend. It came in sixth at the box office.
And "Time" magazine has a theory about why "Country Strong" was, as they put it, "country wrong." In the new issue out today, "Time" says Gwyneth is just not loveable enough.
They ran a scathing review claiming the movie would have been better "if this were Sandra Bullock, say, or perhaps Jennifer Garner. But this is Paltrow whose achievements seem to have piled up in reverse proportion to the good will she inspires. If there an opposite of America`s sweetheart, she`s it."
OK. Admittedly, I have not seen this film yet. But I don`t get that at all. Cooper, I don`t think it is fair to call Gwyneth the opposite of America`s sweetheart. Do you?
LAWRENCE: No, that`s a little cruel.
HAMMER: Yes.
LAWRENCE: I think she was miscast, but that`s a little too harsh considering that she`s in the wrong movie. She`s still likable. We still love her. She has these cute little kids. You know, she was on "Glee." Everybody loves her on "Glee." What`s their problem at "Time" magazine? My gosh!
HAMMER: Yes, what`s their problem? What`s going on there? All right, Ben Widdicombe. Again, I haven`t seen the film. Are you with the folks at the magazine who said "opposite of America`s sweetheart"? Or is that a little over the line there?
WIDDICOMBE: I`m a little surprised that "Time" went there, but I think they have a point. I think that Gwyneth hasn`t played the game. I think that she`s perceived as a bit of an ice princess, as a bit of the girl who has everything.
You know, she dates this British rock star. She comes from an acting family. She`s got the Oscar. And she always comes across as a little snooty. So I think that she needs to gush a bit more. So I see what they`re saying.
HAMMER: Here`s what I`m thinking. Don`t worry about this, Gwyneth. Go back on "Glee." Have a successful run there. And you know what? A lot of big movie stars are doing TV on a regular basis. Stay with the show. Right?
LAWRENCE: Exactly. I think that would really make the difference, because if you`re liked by "Glee," you`re liked by all. She can always go on "Jersey Shore." You know, there`s a lot of options for that Gwyneth to make us like her again.
HAMMER: Yes, I think that will be fantastic, so it`s a good day for Gwyneth as far as I`m concerned. Cooper Lawrence, Ben Widdicombe, I thank you both.

I guess it was a good thing because, now, everybody is talking about Jess` hair-raising hairdo today. Simpson`s gravity-defying hairdo was for a magazine photo shoot. And I really hope that was a work in progress.
HAMMER: Eva Longoria apparently will do just about anything at this point to keep her business from going belly up, and I mean anything.
Did you see this? Eva took sexy photos at her Las Vegas restaurant, Beso, which just filed for bankruptcy. Now, Eva owns a 32 percent stake in the company. That`s really one way to drum up business, right?
Here`s what Eva put on her Twitter page, "Yesterday, at Beso Vegas. It`s gorgeous in there." Eva is gorgeous, too. Bu it may be time to let the whole restaurant thing going, sorry to say.
Her restaurant situation actually just got even worse. Late today, TMZ reported that an investor in Beso is suing Eva for $4 million. The guy claims that Eva ran an illegal moneymaking scam.
Well, we`ve reached out to Eva`s people about this, did not hear back by show time.
A surprising decision revealed today - will this embrace Katie Holmes? The History Channel has decided to yank its eight-part miniseries, "The Kennedys," even before it airs.
Now, Katie played one of the starring roles. She was Jackie Kennedy in this thing. Greg Kinnear is starring as JFK. The History Channel says the miniseries just didn`t fit the brand, but they are trying to shop it elsewhere.
On Friday, we asked you to vote in our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll. I just received the final results. Here`s what we asked, the new season of "Jersey Shore," what do you think?
Pretty surprising considering the record ratings for the premiere. Eighty- eight percent of you say all the fussing and fighting is just a tired cliche. Twelve percent of you, though, can`t get enough of the fist- pumping fun.
Check out this E-mail from Tyler in Canada who thinks "Jersey Shore" is provocative, "The kind of drama we see on the show is like no other. It gets people talking."
