A.J. HAMMER, CO-HOST: We`ve got big news breaking today on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT - Showbiz at the Globes. Brand-new outrage today over Ricky Gervais and his golden insults.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
RICKY GERVAIS, COMEDIAN: Many of you know him from such facilities as the Betty Ford Clinic and Los Angeles County Jail. Please welcome Robert Downey, Jr.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Ricky rowdy and raucous star smack down. The SHOWBIZ Flashpoint today - did Ricky go too far?
BROOKE ANDERSON, CO-HOST: Michael Douglas` miracle return and my incredible exclusive moment with him on the red carpet.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
(on camera) The anchor is asking me to speak to you. I`m so sorry!
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: The unbelievable Sandra-Scarlett show down and what Sandra is now saying about whether she`s hooking up with Scarlett`s soon-to-be ex.
Oprah`s stunning suicide revelation today. What she just told CNN`s Piers Morgan.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
OPRAH WINFREY, MEDIA MOGUL: So I`m thinking, well, I`m just going to have to kill myself.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Gwyneth`s new gimmick? Brand-new outrage today over Gwyneth Paltrow`s pricey advice to moms. TV`s most provocative entertainment news show -
ANDERSON: Starts right now.
(MUSIC)
HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.
ANDERSON: Hi, there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - raucous Ricky.
HAMMER: Brooke, I`m not sure "raucous" begins to describe Ricky Gervais` bombastic hosting of the Golden Globes. And today, some of Hollywood`s biggest stars may still have been licking their wounds because this may have been one of the very first times the host of the show was actually making bigger news than the stars who won the awards.
ANDERSON: Yes. Good point, A.J. There was absolute outrage all day long today over the stinging, brutal, sometimes downright nasty things Ricky Gervais said right to the face of the biggest stars of the world as they sat right in front of him, things like this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
GERVAIS: Please welcome Ashton Kutcher`s dad, Bruce Willis!
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Bruce Willis wasn`t too happy about that. I was right there last night in Beverly Hills at the Golden Globes. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can also tell what you Ricky Gervais had to say is only one part of one of the most memorable nights in a very long time.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with an all-star panel on the all-star grilling. With me right now in New York is K. Foxx, who is a New York radio host with a Hot 97 morning show. And here with me in Hollywood is Jim Moret, who is the chief correspondent for "Inside Edition."
OK. Jim, K., sure, there were lots of stars, lots of big wins at the Golden Globes. But the number one story making big news today is the host, Ricky Gervais. This guy literally insulted everybody he could - Charlie Sheen, Johnny Depp, Hugh Hefner. He`s an easy target. The guy, though, was on fire. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
GERVAIS: It`s going to be a nice of partying and heavy drinking, or as Charlie Sheen calls it, breakfast.
Our first guest is beautiful, talented and Jewish, apparently. Mel Gibson told me that. He`s obsessed.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: And that brings us to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint this morning - did Ricky Gervais go too far. Jim Moret, to you first, was he too harsh?
JIM MORET, CHIEF CORRESPONDENT, "INSIDE EDITION": Are you really surprised about this? He hosted last year. He warned everyone, "I`m going to go even farther this year," and he did. He warned everyone and lived up to it.
You know what? Did he go too far? Yes. Was he offensive? Perhaps. Was he funny? I thought so. And there were two audiences - one in that room, many of them not laughing and many at home, laughing.
ANDERSON: His objective was to be over the top. And he certainly accomplished that goal. And the hits really just kept on coming. Once you thought it was over - no, no, no, no, no. Nobody was safe from Ricky, not even Angelina Jolie, not even Johnny Depp, not even their movie. Watch this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
GERVAIS: It was a big year for 3-d movies, "Toy Story" despicable me. John, seems like everything this year was three dimensional, except the characters in "The Tourist."
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Ricky is not afraid. K. Foxx, to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - did he cross the line?
K. FOXX, RADIO HOST, HOT 97: I don`t think he crossed the line at all. He was doing exactly what he said he was going to do. And I still haven`t seen "The Tourist." I don`t know if you have.
ANDERSON: I haven`t either. And a lot of what he said had some truth to it, but it was very stinging for those people sitting directly in front of him. But I bet a lot of people, after they thought about it, kind of had a good laugh at themselves as well.
MORET: Except the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
ANDERSON: Well, I wanted to talk about that, because the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the people who are in charge of the Golden Globes, told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT late today that they think there is no doubt that Ricky crossed the line.
Here`s what they told us, "When you hire a comedian like Ricky Gervais, one expects in-your-face, sometimes outrageous material."
"Certainly, in this case, he pushed the envelope and occasionally went too far. Overall, however, the show was among the best we`ve ever had and we are pleased."
Jim, they say Ricky crossed the line, but the Hollywood Foreign Press - they don`t sound too concerned about what he did, what he said. What do you think?
MORET: Well, you know, there are two rules really. Don`t bite the hand that feeds you. And he really did anger, I think, members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, but the ratings were up five percent. So success trumps everything.
ANDERSON: Yes. The ratings were pretty strong.
MORET: Right.
ANDERSON: So it will interesting to see if he is invited back be next year. And I`ve got to tell you, as I was there at the Golden Globes last night, like so many people, I kept wondering, when will one of the stars strike back? When will one of the stars say something? And sure enough, Robert Downey, Jr. could not resist. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
GERVAIS: Many of you in this room probably know him well from such facilities as the Betty Ford Clinic and Los Angeles County Jail. Please welcome Robert Downey, Jr.
ROBERT DOWNEY, JR., ACTOR: Aside from the fact that it`s been hugely mean- spirited with mildly sinister undertones I`d say the vibe of the show is pretty good so far, wouldn`t you?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: OK. K. Foxx, I`m thinking maybe not a great idea to tick off Robert Downey, Jr., all those big stars. He has burned some serious bridges here, hasn`t he?
FOXX: I don`t think so. I think he`s a comedian. And one of the beautiful things about being a comedian you is that you don`t have to hold back.
You can let the world know exactly what you`re thinking. So I don`t think so. He got up there, and now we`re talking about him as a result. So he went up there and (INAUDIBLE).
ANDERSON: Yes. He`s known for brash humor. This is how he became famous. With Ricky Gervais, you got to expect the unexpected.
FOXX: He`s unpredictable.
ANDERSON: And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you for all the outrageous and provocative joking, Ricky - you know, with the ratings, Jim and I talked a little bit about that.
They were up just a little bit. They were solid, on par with last year, so they weren`t too bad. A.J., what`s your whole take on Ricky`s performance last night? Did he go too far or was he right on target?
HAMMER: I`m right with Jim Moret in that he was really playing to the audience at home. Audience at home wasn`t cringing at the jokes he was making about the people from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. That didn`t bother them.
And quite frankly, Ricky Gervais has always been somewhat of a Hollywood outsider. So I don`t think he was all too concerned with burning too many bridges in the course of the night. He was doing exactly what he was hired to do and I thought he was terrific.
But I do want to move on right now to another outrageous Golden Globe story that`s making big news today. Check this out. Can we put this up, please?
Look at this - the Sandra, Scarlett fashion showdown. Both Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson wore practically the same dress to the Golden Globes. There are some stylists who may be out of work today.
Sandra and Scarlett have been the talk of the town because Sandra`s been seen hanging out a lot with Scarlett`s ex-husband, Ryan Reynolds.
Well, before we get into that whole debacle, Jim, I want to first get your take as a fashion expert. Who did a better job wearing this dress, Sandra or Scarlett?
MORET: They could have worn the same exact dress. I wouldn`t have noticed bass of the hair. I mean, I saw Sandra Bullock`s hair and said, "Who is that?" So I didn`t even get to the dress until today.
That`s when I noticed the dresses were similar. I look Scarlett Johansson`s dress. It was a little bit more of a plunging neckline. You know what? It`s true, I like that dress more.
HAMMER: We won`t get into the bangs and the haircut that Sandra had going there. All right. K. Foxx, Listen, you`re a very fashionable woman. You saw the two of them.
I mean, you have to imagine, by the way, they were probably a little mortified when they got a look at each other and saw, even though they`re friendly and all that. But what do you think? We`re looking at them right now. Did one of them do a better job than the other?
FOXX: I`ve got to go with Johansson. I`m team Johansson on this one. But these are the same ladies that shared a kiss during the MTV Music Awards.
So I don`t think that they`re really like, "Oh, my gosh. We`re wearing almost the exact same dress." I think they`ll be just fine. But I`ve got to go with team Johansson.
HAMMER: Because you know the magazines are going to be all over that. Who pulled it off better? Who did a better job on that?
FOXX: I wasn`t feeling Sandra Bullock`s hair either.
HAMMER: Oh, you weren`t?
FOXX: No, I was not.
HAMMER: Well, maybe she didn`t want to let you touch it, that`s why you weren`t feeling it. All right. Sorry. I do want to dive right into the whole other controversy, the other elephant in the room, so to speak.
Is Sandra Bullock dating Scarlett Johansson`s soon-to-ex-husband, Ryan Reynolds? She was seen hanging out with Ryan on New Year`s Eve. They`ve been photographed together a lot lately.
Well, for the very first time, we`re actually hearing Sandra putting all of those pesky rumors to rest. Look at what she told Al Roker on the "Today" show.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
AL ROKER, CO-HOST, THE "TODAY" SHOW: All this stuff about Ryan -
SANDRA BULLOCK, ACTRESS: Oh, my lover?
ROKER: Your lover -
BULLOCK: My new lover?
ROKER: Your new lover Ryan Reynolds.
BULLOCK: I think there will be a collective sigh amongst women across the United States when I say he`s not my lover.
ROKER: He`s not?
BULLOCK: He`s just an amazing friend I`ve had for 10 years and I hope there`s more friendships like that. But I don`t get his loving after dark.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: She only did say "after dark" there to be clear. But Sandra and Ryan, not happening. You heard it straight from the source.
But Jim Moret, I`m thinking even with Sandra`s assurances there, the rumors are still going to fly around because people love buzzing about Sandra finding love again and real love. And a lot of people actually think they make a cute couple.
MORET: I think they do make a good couple. And the reason they`re interested in her finding love is because so many people genuinely like her. She`s a very nice person. But I take her at her word. If she`s says they`re good friends, I`m sure they`re just good friends.
HAMMER: Yes. See, I`m with that as well. They`ve been friends for some 10 years now. And I don`t like the fact that just because they`re seen together, it means they`re dating, K.
FOXX: Yes. I don`t think so. I think that, you know - I think that she handled it very gracefully. You know, Sandra - she is a standup woman. And she wouldn`t want something like that done to her.
HAMMER: If she`s going to say it, if she`s getting out there and putting it on the record, I believe her.
FOXX: I believe her, too.
HAMMER: I believe her.
FOXX: I agree.
HAMMER: All right. Brooke Anderson, that`s not the only whopper of a story coming out of the Golden Globes, of course. Michael Douglas - wow! I just thought it was so great seeing him back and better than ever.
ANDERSON: Yes, he is, A.J. And I had an absolutely hilarious encounter with him on the red carpet of the Golden Globes. Watch part of it.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
(on camera) I hate to interrupt you, Kareen. I`m live on CNN. The anchor is asking me to speak to you. I`m so sorry!
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: He was great with you, Brooke. And he was just terrific at the show itself. The big question we`re asking today - has Michael Douglas` triumph over cancer really propelled him now into an even bigger superstardom?
ANDERSON: Yes. We are asking that question today. And there are more big breaking Golden Globe developments today, A.J. Did you see Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie?
A cuddly performance at the Globes. A lot of people today think Brangelina deserved a Golden Globe, one for best performance in a romance. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT dares to ask - was it real, or just for show?
We`ve also got this -
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WINFREY: So I`m thinking, I`m just going to have to kill myself. So, when -
PIERS MORGAN, HOST, "PIERS MORGAN TONIGHT": Did you come close to doing it?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Oprah Winfrey`s shocking suicide confession. The riveting brand- new confession to CNN`s Piers Morgan today that got Oprah fans reeling. But how close did Oprah really come to killing herself?
ANDERSON: Brand-new outrage over Gwyneth`s pricey new gimmick. Why working moms are all fired up over Gwyneth Paltrow`s everyday advice. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
HAMMER: It`s time for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.
TEXT: Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban reveal they had a baby daughter via surrogate in December. Natalie Portman on potential Oscar buzz after winning Best Drama Actress.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
NATALIE PORTMAN, ACTRESS: It`s obviously an incredible honor just because of the people who they talk about in the same breath, you know. To be mentioned among these women and among the films this year is the greatest honor.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
GWYNETH PALTROW, SINGER AND ACTRESS: OK, I`m going to play one of my hits but with a bar mitzvah twist.
(SINGING)
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Gwyneth spoofs Taylor. It`s a SHOWBIZ did you see this? Gwyneth Paltrow was country strong hosting "Saturday Night Live" and pulling off a hilarious spoof of Taylor Swift singing at a bar mitzvah.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood, A.J. Hammer in New York.
A.J., Gwyneth is getting rave reviews today for her performance on "SNL."
HAMMER: Yes, Brooke. It seems like people just can`t get enough of Gwyneth Paltrow. First, of course, she blew us away with her stellar singing and dancing on "Glee." Today, everybody is talking about Gwyneth on "Saturday Night Live." Take a look spoofing a `60s game show contestant here.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Let`s meet your game partner.
PALTROW: My game butler. Perfect. I`m dying for a cocktail.
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: No, no, no, no. He`s not your butler. He`s here to play the game.
PALTROW: Oh, heavens! I`m so sorry. By the way, I`m a huge fan of Nat King Cole.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: I want to bring in Daphne Brogdon. She`s the creator of "CoolMom.com."
I think Gwyneth just did a great job on "SNL." And we`re all excited to see her return to "Glee." But of course, Daphne, let`s talk about her most recent film, "Country Strong."
"Country Strong" was a box office bomb. So I`m one of those people who likes Gwyneth in basically anything she does. But Daphne, do you think it might be time for her to kind of drop films and consider a full-time TV career?
DAPHNE BROGDON, BLOGGER, "COOLMOM.COM": It seems like maybe what she should do is a comedy movie. I don`t think the problem is between film and TV. It`s just things where she`s making fun of herself and things where she seems to be taking herself too seriously. That`s the disconnect.
HAMMER: That`s fair enough. There is more big Gwyneth news we`ve got to tell you about that`s breaking today. Brand-new outrage over some pricey advice Gwyneth has given to working moms on her lifestyle Web site, "GOOP."
Gwyneth and two of her friends dished on how they balance their busy careers and being a mom. ABC News took some of Gwyneth does and put a price tag on it.
Here a few of the controversial suggestions. "Start your week off right with a personal training session." The average cost of that is $70. "Get your hair blown out once a week," average cost $60. And it helps to start your day with a cup of coffee.
Now, they point out Gwyneth uses a $2,000 coffeemaker. To be fair, she gives some very practical advice on how to use your time wisely that`s good for everyone. Some critics, Daphne, criticizing Gwyneth, calling her out of touch. Is that unfair?
BROGDON: I don`t think it`s unfair at all. It`s almost comical. I mean, the whole "GOOP.com" thing has always been just a little bit of a cringe because it`s like her and Stella McCartney and her other rich friend.
I mean, they obviously have, you know, a lot of help and assistance and a trainer that comes to their house. This is not average working mom.
HAMMER: Right.
BROGDON: And if she had billed it as, "Here`s how us rich white girls roll," that would be one thing.
HAMMER: Yes, that would be different.
BROGDON: "Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous." But it`s that kind of like, "I can relate to you." No, you don`t go to Costco like I do.
HAMMER: Exactly.
BROGDON: You have your fish monger in London to bring your food in.
HAMMER: And we`ve got to leave it there. Daphne Brogdon, thanks so much.
And Brooke, I`ve got to tell you, people are furiously debating Kelsey and Camille Grammer`s controversial split today. Kelsey left Camille for a 29- year-old, got her pregnant. Now, they want to get married. We asked people whose team they were on, Kelsey`s or Camille`s. A great debate broke out on our Facebook page.
Here`s one from Heidi S., "I`m team Camille. Kelsey was wrong to cheat on her and get another woman pregnant while was still married. What a pig!"
ANDERSON: A.J., like our Facebook page, the "Showbiz on Call" phone lines have been on fire all weekend, too. Dana from Florida seems to be on Team Kelsey.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
DANA, CALLER FROM FLORIDA: Camille, all for the show from the beginning, kept putting herself up there and saying, "I want to step out of the shadow of Kelsey." She kept putting him down and flirting with other men and being provocative towards other men. I think she`s getting exactly what she deserves.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Thank you, Dana.
HAMMER: Call us at "Showbiz on Call" to sound off on this or anything else.
ANDERSON: That`s right. The "Showbiz on Call" phone lines are always open - 1-888-SBT-BUZZ; 1-888-728-2899. Leave a voicemail. We will play some of your calls here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
HAMMER: And there`s more big Kelsey-Camille news breaking today. A new showdown erupted today. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT revealing that this battle is more divisive than we thought.
ANDERSON: Oprah Winfrey is battling her own showdown today. Who is the big star who dethroned Oprah as America`s favorite TV star? SHOWBIZ TONIGHT investigates this major coup.
We`ve also got this -
NICOLE "SNOOKI" POLIZZI, REALITY TV STAR, "JERSEY SHORE": I am Joy and I`m on the freaking "View" and I own everything in the world, and I know everything. And that`s all.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Snooki`s big Joy Behar spoof gets slammed. Why Snooki is eating her words today and apologizing to Joy. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
And now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.
TEXT: Colin Firth wins Golden Globe for best drama actor in a motion picture. Robert De Niro reveals why his Cecil B. DeMille Award is missing after the Globes.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ROBERT DE NIRO, ACTOR: The award is - the top fell off. They warned me that it would - that`s why I don`t have it with me because they have solder it back on.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
POLIZZI: I am Joy and I`m on the freaking "View" and I own everything in the world. "Jersey Shore" kids are disgusting. You know why I don`t like them?
Because I`m (EXPLETIVE DELETED) Joy and these people ruined my life in high school. And that`s why I love to talk (EXPLETIVE DELETED) about them.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Snooki`s big Joy Behar spoof backfires today. And by the way, Snooki, Joy`s got two not-so-little talk shows.
The "Jersey Shore" star is eating her words and she`s apologizing to Joy today. You will not believe what the girl with the pouf is saying about the controversial spoof. A.J., Snooki and J-Woww were pretty harsh there.
HAMMER: Yes, Brooke. I`m OK with Fred Armisen`s "Saturday Night Live" spoofs of my friend, Joy Behar. But this one - it was a little too brutal for me, anyway.
ANDERSON: A lot of people feel the same way, A.J. So on "The Wendy Williams Show" today, Snooki actually apologized to Joy and "The View." Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
POLIZZI: Well, me and Jenni have, like, "The Flow and Nancy Show" on YouTube. And it`s kind of like a joke, like we`re just being silly.
And obviously, Joy talks a lot about us and we just wanted to, you know, make it silly and just, like - you know, just have fun with it and everyone took it too seriously.
So I took the video down. And you know, we feel bad about it. And I guess they talked about it on "The View." I`m a big fan of "The View" and Barbara Walters, so, you know, I`m sorry.
WENDY WILLIAMS, HOST, "THE WENDY WILLIAMS SHOW": But it all started because she was talking not so nice about you. That`s how it started.
POLIZZI: Right, right. So did have a good show, because we really don`t care if you don`t like us.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: I think Snooki was sincere there. And it turns out, A.J., Joy actually thought the spoof was kind of funny.
HAMMER: And you know what was really funny, Brooke? There was a Snook-a- like pageant that happened right after Snooki`s apology on "The Wendy Williams Show." Look at this.
ANDERSON: Oh, boy.
HAMMER: Can we show this? Yes. You`ve got lots of poufs, of course, fist-pumping, pink slippers. The winner, a 20-year-old pharmacy technician won because she pulled off a fist-pumping Snooki shuffle. It`s pretty good there. Nice going.
ANDERSON: Yes, nice going. All right. Now, the SHOWBIZ lineup - here`s coming up at the bottom of the hour on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
Oprah`s suicide confession. What Oprah just told CNN`s Piers Morgan will shock you.
Nicole Kidman bares all. You`ve got to hear what she`s saying about posing nude after becoming a mom.
And my unbelievable exclusive moment with Michael Douglas on the red carpet at the Golden Globes.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
(on camera) I hate to interrupt you, Kareen. I`m live on CNN. The anchor is asking me to speak to you. I`m so sorry!
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: You`ve got to see my hilarious moment with Michael and his wife Catherine Zeta Jones. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
HAMMER: Time for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - here come more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.
TEXT: "Toy Story 3" wins Golden Globe for Best Animated Film. Golden Globe winner Annette Bening "The Kids" role touched her.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ANNETTE BENING, ACTRESS: I was lucky to be asked into the party and I loved the script. I thought it was beautiful and about family. And I hope that the movie will open a few minds. I know it`s opened some hearts. It certainly did mine.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WINFREY: So I`m thinking, well, I`m just going to have to kill myself. So when -
MORGAN: Did you come close to doing it?
(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.
(MUSIC)
HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.
ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - love fest? Awards were not the only thing being handed out at the Golden Globes last night. The most famous couple in the world, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, performed an exclusive how-to seminar on how to publicly display affection towards one another.
Talk about hot. Their cuddly performance last night during the show has been making all kinds of headlines today. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT dares to ask - was it real or was it just for show?
Just wait until you see what I found out in my exclusive moment with Angelina Jolie. OK, I don`t think anybody will disagree that Brad and Angelina could not have looked more affectionate.
Check it out. Angelina leans into Brad`s shoulder. She fixes his tie. Angelina quickly reapplies her lip gloss. I love these two. And Angelina, by the way, spoke very highly of Brad to me when I spoke with her on the red carpet last night.
To me, it all seemed very genuine, a very genuine display of love, of affection, of attraction. I don`t think it was just for the cameras. I don`t think they cared about putting tabloid reports about them breaking up to rest. They don`t even waste their time reading the tabloids.
I want to go now to Maria Menounos, special correspondent for "Access Hollywood." What did you make of all of it?
MARIA MENOUNOS, SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT, "ACCESS HOLLYWOOD": You know, we actually had someone here at "Access Hollywood" count how many times they touched each other and all of the different PDA moments. And we`re at about 15 throughout the broadcast, sprinkled throughout.
You know, I agree with you. I think it was totally genuine. I think they were just having a great night together. I mean, they are perfect. It`s silly how perfect looking they are together.
ANDERSON: They`re so glamorous, so stunning. Jim Moret, chief correspondent for "Inside Edition." Do you think they did it for the cameras?
MORET: Why are you so cynical? Why can`t somebody -
ANDERSON: I said I don`t think so. I have to ask. That`s what the headlines are.
MORET: They just showed their affection. They clearly care about each other. I thought it was wonderful. I think it`s great that they`re so comfortable and casual. They don`t mind the cameras being on them and displaying their affection toward one another.
ANDERSON: And they do that often.
MORET: Of course.
ANDERSON: And she told me it was a date night for them. So they were out having a good time, enjoying one another`s company.
MORET: How many times are they alone? There`s no (INAUDIBLE).
(CROSS TALK)
ANDERSON: Exactly.
MORET: Exactly.
ANDERSON: That`s the point. I was right there on the red carpet at the Golden Globes last night. I had my own special exclusive moment with Angelina. She`s a mother of six. Watch what she told me when I asked her what a night like this meant for her and Brad.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ANGELINA JOLIE, ACTRESS: It`s a date night for people that have too many kids.
ANDERSON: Where`s your date?
JOLIE: Too much stuff to do. My date`s over there.
ANDERSON: Bring him over. Brad -
JOLIE: No, he`s - he`s good.
ANDERSON: You say this is a date night. Did your kid help you get ready? What was today like for you before you came?
JOLIE: We were busy with the kids for a lot of the morning. A lot of the day, we actually had a big night with babies not resting very well. So we tried to just relax and get ready. But it was fun. It`s all fun.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Maria, she says it`s all fun, but I`ve got to imagine that even though they have all kinds of support to help with their six kids, they are probably tired a lot of the time, tired and probably happy. And I think they hide their exhaustion pretty darn well, don`t you think?
MENOUNOS: Absolutely. I think that there is no doubt that they`re very hands-on, and that equals exhaustion when it`s that many kids. And I think that a night like last night - I think it was genuine.
They were on a date night and they were away from the kids and having a great time with their peers. And I think - I think they look cute together.
ANDERSON: Yes, I do, too. And speaking of looking great, absolutely fantastic, there was Michael Douglas, his first big public appearance since revealing last week that he has likely beaten his throat cancer.
You`ve got to check out what happened with Michael and me on the red carpet last night as I was live on the air on CNN with anchor Don Lemon. At the time, Michael was talking with SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter. Check out what happened.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: So, Don, a lot of bitterness on both sides. Well, Michael Douglas - it is indeed Michael Douglas and his beautiful wife, Catherine Zeta Jones.
My wonderful colleague Kareen Wynter - I hate to interrupt you, Kareen. I`m live on CNN. The anchor is asking me to speak to you.
I am so sorry. And we love each other. We`re office mates. But OK, you guys look stunning. How are you feeling? You`ve beaten this thing.
MICHAEL DOUGLAS, ACTOR: I`m feeling great. I just found out last week that the tumor is gone. We haven`t gotten out too much this year. Catherine was doing her Broadway show and then the cancer.
So we`re having a good time, a chance to see a lot of old friends we haven`t seen for a while and really thank them for all of their support. You know, so many friends from the industry. And there are fans who sent in so many good words. So it`s a treat to be here.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: I think it was a treat for all of us. And Michael, as we saw on the telecast, received a standing ovation when he got up to present best picture drama.
Jim, I think the way that he has handled all of this with such dignity, such humor, has really cemented his status as a living legend.
MORET: First of all, we learned live beats taped.
ANDERSON: Yes, that`s the priority.
MORET: I really think that was the couple of the night. You know, it was so wonderful to see him healthy. And she seemed so radiant and it`s been a rough time for both of them.
And they`re a couple. And to watch a spouse go through that - it was great. And the accolade he`s received - I do think it has catapulted him to a higher level because we realized what a treasure we almost lost.
ANDERSON: Yes. And Catherine Zeta Jones told me that it has been very emotional and very tough for all of them for their family but that Michael has been great through all of it and his sense of humor has always been intact.
And she showed such grace and dignity, I thought. Catherine Zeta Jones - listen to what she revealed to me on the red carpet about how the kids - she and the kids specifically dealt with Michael`s scary battle with cancer.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
CATHERINE ZETA JONES, ACTRESS: Yes, it`s been a crazy, surreal, emotional six months. And the children have been fantastic. Michael actually took them down and they watched some of the radiation.
They thought it was very "Star Trek," "Star Wars-ish." But they`re doing great and he`s never lost his dignity, his courage, his strength and, most importantly, his sense of humor, which has been great for me.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Wow. A.J., great for them. And I think they`re a terrific inspiration.
HAMMER: Yes. They really are, and it was great to see them like that last night. I thought Michael Douglas had the line of the night when he was getting a standing ovation. He said, "There`s got to be an easier way to get a standing ovation."
ANDERSON: Right.
HAMMER: It was also great seeing Natalie Portman, by the way. She looked amazing. She revealed she`s having a baby with her fiance. Portman took home the Best Actress award for "Black Swan."
And here`s what she told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter when Kareen asked Natalie if she was beginning to think about the Oscar race.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
NATALIE PORTMAN, ACTRESS: Getting to make the movie is a prize. People loving it is a prize. And so it`s just like all of this is wonderful and I just feel very, very grateful.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: All right. She was being coy with us. But Maria, you know, that`s what they`re supposed to say, of course. But let`s face it, when the Oscar nominations are announced next Tuesday, I mean, Natalie`s a no- brainer for that, if you ask me.
MENOUNOS: Absolutely. But you know, it`s interesting because both Annette and Natalie won last night, and they`re going to be in the same category at the Oscars.
So it`s going to be a two-woman race. And who knows who is going to pull out in the end? But I kind of feel Natalie has the edge. She really trained hard for this movie and she gives such an incredible performance that I think it would be difficult to not give it to her.
HAMMER: The battle is on. Maria Menounos, Jim Moret, we thank you both.
ANDERSON: All right. We`ve got to move on now to this shocking confession from Oprah.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WINFREY: So I`m thinking, well, I`m just going to have to kill myself. So when -
MORGAN: Did you come close to doing it?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Oprah Winfrey`s stunning suicide revelation today. Wait until you hear what Oprah told CNN`s Piers Morgan about that.
HAMMER: There`s a brand-new development today in the Kelsey and Camille Grammer divorce drama showdown. Is the battle brewing even more than we thought?
ANDERSON: Plus this, Elton John`s biggest regret.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ELTON JOHN, SINGER: When I did get sober, I realized what an absolute self-obsessed, selfish person I was, and I had to, you know, make amends.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: More on one of the biggest, most painful regrets ever for Sir Elton John. That`s coming up. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
HAMMER: Time for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.
TEXT: HBO`s "Boardwalk Empire" wins Golden Globe for best drama television series. Sofia Vergara on losing Golden Globe to "Glee`s" Jane Lynch -
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SOFIA VERGARA, ACTRESS: I love her. Two times. No, I love her. She`s great. She is really my favorite character from "Glee," so, you know, she deserves it.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
ANDERSON: Just in today, the queen of talk has just been bumped from her throne. New details today about why Oprah Winfrey might be worried about losing her crown.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood, A.J. Hammer in New York. We will reveal who just stole Oprah`s throne in just a second.
But first, Oprah`s startling suicide confession just revealed today, A.J.
HAMMER: Yes. And Brooke, this is simply one of the most remarkable and probably one of the most painful revelations Oprah made to Piers Morgan during a brand-new interview for his CNN`s show, which, of course, is kicking off this week.
On the debut of the "PIERS MORGAN TONIGHT" show, Oprah tells Piers she actually contemplated suicide after she got pregnant when she was 14 years old.
Oprah says her father would rather have seen her dead than bring shame to her family and the family name. And Oprah felt like she had no choice but to end it all. This is incredible. Watch this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WINFREY: So I`m thinking, well, I`m just going to have to kill myself. So, when -
MORGAN: Did you come close to doing that?
WINFREY: No, not - you know, I did stupid things like, you know, drinking detergent and all that kind of crazy stuff that you do when you`re trying to get attention when you`re really just trying to cry for help.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Now, Oprah`s baby died shortly after birth. I can`t imagine this was an easy thing for Oprah to recall, much less reveal to Piers and the world.
I`m with K. Foxx who is the co-host of the Hot 97 morning show here in New York City. K., are you shocked by Oprah`s candid confession?
FOXX: I`m not shocked at all. I think it`s about time for Oprah to start opening up and letting the world know exactly what she`s been dealing with and the demons that she has to face in her childhood.
Hopefully, she can inspire another young lady to say, "You know what? I overcome. If Oprah did it, I can do it."
HAMMER: Yes. She`s always been very open, but it seems like she`s willing to give and tell more than ever before. Oprah also revealed to Piers that she once ate 30 pounds of mac and cheese when she was depressed, and she wasn`t kidding when she said that.
I want to bring in radio host Jenn Hobby who joins me from Atlanta. That`s where she`s the co-host of "The Bert Show."
And Jen, I`m thinking Oprah became Oprah because of her troubled past. She has spent her life touching millions of people while she was secretly using those experiences to conquer her own crippling demons. Do you see it that way?
JENN HOBBY, CO-HOST, "THE BERT SHOW": I definitely agree with you, A.J. I think Oprah has got a vulnerability about her where she can share her life with her audience and with her fans and really connect with them on that level.
But she`s still got the core confidence to carry - being able to tell the story in a unique way. She really has that vulnerability. We see her soul when she shares stories with us.
HAMMER: And I do appreciate how she continues to evolve despite all she`s done. And her candor, as we were just saying - it just seems to expand. And my hats off to Piers for a really dynamic interview.
Of course, we`re wishing Piers Morgan all the best during the debut week of "PIERS MORGAN TONIGHT." It`s on every night, 9:00 p.m. Eastern on CNN.
There`s more huge Oprah news today. Oprah has just lost a major title that she`s had for most of the decade. Also, Nicole Kidman talks about getting naked after having her baby. And Anne Hathaway`s "Glee" dream comes true. It`s all making big news in "The Buzz Today."
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: Anne golden "Glee" wish come true. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has just learned that Anne Hathaway will appear on "Glee," thanks to her public plea. Anne met "Glee" creator, Ryan Murphy, at the Golden Globes and the two sealed a "Glee" deal. Ryan Murphy confirmed the details to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
RYAN MURPHY, CREATOR, "GLEE": Anne Hathaway is going to come on.
HAMMER: "Glee" was just named best comedy show at the Golden Globes for the second year in a row.
Nicole`s naked confession. In a brand-new interview, Nicole Kidman is bearing all about stripping down after becoming a mom.
In a just-released interview with "W" magazine, Kidman revealed she embraces being nude, "I don`t mind being naked. After having a baby, I`m not so sure now, but I enjoy not letting my issues get in the way of nudity."
Nicole has recently talked about motherhood`s effect on her figure saying her new curves make her feel, quote, "very woman."
Oprah`s stunning upset. It`s true. "NCIS" star Mark Harmon has just overthrown Oprah as America`s favorite TV star. A brand-new Harris poll of more than 2,300 Americans is revealing that Harmon "NCIS" special agent lead role, Jethro Gibbs, is far more adored than the talk show diva.
Harmon catapulted to the top of the ranking from eighth place last year. And Winfrey, who was number one, has gone to second place.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
I don`t know that Oprah`s necessarily crying about that. But right now, the question everyone is asking today is the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - is Mark Harmon really bigger than Oprah? K., help me out here. Do you get this?
FOXX: I had to Google who Mark Harmon was -
HAMMER: See.
FOXX: When I saw the story. I was like, exactly who is voting for him? Who are these people?
HAMMER: They polled a lot of people. This is the Harris poll. This is a very respected poll.
FOXX: I think she`s not going to lose any sleep over this. She`ll be just fine.
HAMMER: OK. All right. But again, I want to get to the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint with Jenn Hobby. And I need to point out on Sunday night, "NCIS," Mark`s show, had its biggest audience ever - 22 million people tune in to that. So Jenn, to the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, is Mark Harmon really bigger than Oprah Winfrey?
HOBBY: You know, no disrespect to Mark Harmon, but Oprah is one word. That`s all you have to say and everyone knows who she is.
So certainly, his popularity might be growing, but I don`t know who they polled for this because I can`t imagine anyone being bigger than Oprah Winfrey.
HAMMER: K., I mean, 22 million people tune in to the show. Mark Harmon`s been at this game for a long time. Really, you had to Google his name?
FOXX: I really did. Maybe it`s out of my age category. I`m not exactly sure, but I really had to Google who exactly is Mark Harmon. Bigger than Oprah? Are you serious?
HAMMER: All right. That`s fair, but you`re going to tune in to the show this week, I bet, to see more. K. Foxx, Jenn Hobby, thanks, guys. Appreciate it.
ANDERSON: Mark Harmon, very recognizable. A great talent, too.
OK. Now, to Sir Elton John`s big regret revelation today. Sir Elton John just revealed to CNN`s Anderson Cooper one of the biggest regrets of his life.
The openly gay rock star says that he`s just beside himself for not joining AIDS activists on the frontlines raising awareness about the disease back in the early `90s.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JOHN: And when I did get sober, I realized what an absolute self-obsessed, selfish person I was. And I had to - you know, to make amends because of who I was and I had the ability to say something.
I didn`t and I`m ashamed of that and that`s why I`m trying to make amends now by trying to do as much as possible. I think I definitely should have been out there with the act-up people.
Yes, I made a record, "That`s What Friends are For," which raised a lot of money. Yes, I did the Elizabeth Taylor thing, but I wasn`t Elizabeth Taylor. I didn`t speak out.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: He`s always done a lot for AIDS organizations. And actually, the Sir Elton John AIDS Foundation is one of the biggest AIDS advocacy organizations in the world today. He`s being hard on himself.
HAMMER: As we move on today, there`s a brand-new development in the Kelsey Grammer/Camille Grammer showdown. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is going to reveal right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
Kelsey and Camille`s divorce is nastier than we thought. The startling proof, next. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Time for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.
TEXT: Christian Bale wins Golden Globe for best supporting actor for "The Fighter." "Glee`s" Matthew Morrison says he is proud of the show`s Golden Globe win.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MATTHEW MORRISON, ACTOR: I thought I was going to come to L.A., nice easy TV schedule and, like, get a tan and stuff. This is like so much harder than anything I`ve ever done in New York.
But it`s so rewarding and, you know, such a great message every week on the show and I couldn`t be more proud of our cast and crew.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
(LAUGHING)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: (INAUDIBLE) and walks away.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Oh, my god.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: SHOWBIZ caught on tape. Yes, a young lady doing a little shopping at this mall in Pennsylvania and she got more than a great deal, I tell you.
Did you see this? This young lady was apparently too busy texting to see that she was about to walk right into that fountain. The security staff that saw this embarrassing caught-on-tape moment got a big laugh and even put it on YouTube where, of course, it`s a big hit now. A cautionary tale.
Well, Friday we asked you to vote in our exclusive poll. Just moments ago, Brooke, we got the final results.
ANDERSON: A.J., it`s a statistical tie - "Kelsey and Camille Grammer`s Split: Whose side are you on?" Team Camille, 48 percent. Team Kelsey, very close, 52 percent.
We`re back with radio hosts, K. Foxx and Jenn Hobby. And ladies, I`ve got to say I`m pretty shocked that this is so close because, usually, the jilted wife gets the edge.
K., do you think our SHOWBIZ exclusive poll is so close because, yes, Kelsey hurt his wife, betrayed her in a horrible way. But Camille`s portrayal, her behavior on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" has not won her many fans.
FOXX: Definitely. I agree. I think that I`m going for team Kelsey, because she`s just trying to bring in more ratings for her reality show. And she does not - I don`t know. She doesn`t sit very well in my mouth after I watch that show, so I`m going for team Kelsey.
ANDERSON: But she didn`t ask for this split. She didn`t ask for Kelsey to do what he did.
FOXX: Right. You`re exactly right. But I`m still going for team Kelsey all the way.
ANDERSON: All right. Our Facebook fans had plenty to say about Camille based about what they know about her from her reality show.
And I`ve got to tell you most people agreed with this, that Sheila C. wrote, "Team Kelsey 200 percent." She`s agreeing with you, K. "Camille is C-R-A-Z-Y crazy." Jenn, whose team are you on?
HOBBY: Well, I`ve got to say team neither, but if I had to pick one, I would say team Camille. But she is a little cra-cra. I mean, she has lost her mind a little bit on the show.
So I do think that she wants the spotlight on her. She wants to come out from the shadows of him. And now, the spotlight is on her, but probably for all the wrong reason, right?
ANDERSON: Jenn, I`m like you. I`m opting out from making a decision.
HOBBY: Team neither won.
ANDERSON: K. Foxx - K., have we just stumbled on to the premise maybe for the next reality show, Grammer versus Grammer, the showdown to end all showdowns?
FOXX: You know what? I would definitely watch that, because they`re both very entertaining. So I think that should definitely happen.
ANDERSON: Yes, but I don`t think these two are chomping at the bit to work together on a daily basis, day in, day out in the future, if they don`t have to. But we wish them both well. K. Foxx, Jenn Hobby, thanks, ladies. Good to see you.
HAMMER: Well, that is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.
ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. Take care.
