(MUSIC)
Hi, there. Welcome to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in London. And, A.J., let the wedding countdown begin.
HAMMER: All right, Brooke. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT bringing you the best and most provocative coverage of the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. And Brooke, there really is plenty to talk about today.
ANDERSON: There sure is, A.J. From Elton John`s stunning new interview this morning about the wedding, his personal connection to William`s mother, the late Princess Diana, and his warning to Kate Middleton about the British tabloids.
But first, I want to show you where we are. I am sitting right in front of the beautiful Buckingham Palace, more than 750 rooms in Buckingham palace, 78 bathrooms, if you can believe it.
But Buckingham Palace is going to be the site of two receptions following the royal wedding on Friday. The first is a lunchtime reception hosted by the queen herself, and the second is an evening dinner and dance party hosted by Prince Charles. That is the hot ticket.
But, A.J., back to Elton John, he really officially kicked off the royal wedding countdown with this remarkable interview and those shocking warnings to the royal couple.
HAMMER: Yes, Brooke. Elton has been invited to William and Kate`s wedding. And we all know so well about Elton`s personal connection to Princess Diana.
How can we ever forget that memorable moment when he sang "Candle in the Wind" at her funeral? Well, today, Elton is raising a big red flag about his fears that the tabloids could do to Kate what they did to Diana.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
JOHN: I think it`s the most joyous result.
HAMMER (voice-over): He may be a knighted musical legend, but in an interview airing today on ABC`s "Good Morning America," Elton John sounded like a proud uncle as he beamed about attending Friday`s wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
JOHN: I hope they have the most wonderful day and I hope everyone celebrates with them, whether they agree with the monarchy or not.
HAMMER: With his partner, David Furnish, sitting by his side, Elton told ABC`s Barbara Walters what he thinks his dear friend, the late Princess Diana, would have thought of his future daughter-in-law, Kate.
JOHN: I think she would have been very happy with his choice.
HAMMER: But with his nice words about Kate and Prince William, Sir Elton also had some not-so-nice words about the British tabloids that hounded Diana and are starting to do the same thing to Kate.
JOHN: You know, if there was one thing in the world that I`d get rid of, is that negativity in the British press and the hatefulness.
KIM SERAFIN, SENIOR EDITOR, "IN TOUCH WEEKLY": He`s saying, basically, don`t let what happened to Diane happen to Kate Middle. Kate has seen the ups and downs of the media.
Now, she`s kind of the princess that everyone hopes to be, the fairy tale princess. But you`re starting to see little things creep in. Oh, she`s getting too thin. Why is she getting so thin?
HAMMER: In the interview airing this morning on ABC`s "Good Morning America," Sir Elton went off on the British tabloids.
JOHN: That horrible nastiness that we have pervades our British media. And I`m sorry we have it, but we do. And we have to live with it because it`s a great country. But it`s one thing about Britain that sucks.
HAMMER: If Elton sounds bitter, it may be because he`s seen first hand the damage tabloids can do to a glamorous member of the royal family, exhibit A, his dear friend, Princess Diana.
SERAFIN: There was so much scrutiny of every single thing that Diana did. It just became sort of a feeding frenzy. So many people really do blame the press and the paparazzi, the ferocious paparazzi, for her death because they were chasing her that night that she was in the car accident.
HAMMER: And Sir Elton tells ABC`s Barbara Walters he thinks about that when he sees what Kate Middleton`s going through.
BARBARA WALTERS, ABC CORRESPONDENT: And we know what it did to Diana.
JOHN: Yes. It starts here. I mean, enjoy it while you can because it`s going to be - the press are going to give you a bumpy ride. They`re going to love you. They`re going to hate you. I admire her for going through with it.
HAMMER: And Sir Elton, who sang so memorably at Diana`s funeral, now tells ABC he looks forward to returning to West Minster Abbey 13 years later for a much happier memory.
WALTERS: You were such a close friend of Princess Diana`s. When you see them walking down the aisle, what do you think you`re going to feel?
JOHN: Great joy because the last time we were in Westminster Abbey, my heart sank when I saw those two boys walking behind the coffin. I thought that was the hardest thing.
I can`t imagine that at that young age having to walk in the public following your mother`s coffin. And the next time we`re going to be at the Abbey, it`s to see him walking down the aisle with a beautiful woman and the love of his life. And I think it`s the most joyous result and I`m sure Diana would be very, very happy about it.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
ANDERSON: And Elton is obviously sending out a very strong message to the British tabloids - leave William and Kate alone. But will they listen?
I`m right here in London covering the royal wedding all week long. I`m in front of Buckingham Palace. And joining me right now is Omid Scobie. Omid is "Us Weekly`s" European bureau chief. Good to see you, Omid.
OMID SCOBIE, EUROPEAN BUREAU CHIEF, "US WEEKLY": Thank you for having me.
ANDERSON: All right. So Elton John was very forceful with his words. Do you think that the paparazzi, the press, will back off once they - will they listen to Elton John?
SCOBIE: I mean, I can understand where Elton`s coming from. Obviously, he`s been caught up in negative press in the past. But I`d actually like to think that the British paparazzi have already learned to keep that distance.
If we just look back a few years ago when Prince William attended St. Andrews University, the palace set an embargo - so no pictures to be taken. Prince be left alone.
ANDERSON: And they listened.
SCOBIE: And they listened and it worked. So I think we are looking at new generation of media in this country.
ANDERSON: Well, yes, I agree with you. And Elton also, in addition, to having some harsh words for the tabloids and the British press - he also has some marriage advice for William and Kate. So let`s watch that right now.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JOHN: Enjoy it while you can because it`s going to be - the press are going to give you a bumpy ride. They`re going to love you. They`re going to hate you. I just hope they love each other enough to stay away from all that.
You know, there`s one thing in the world - if I could, you know, get rid of, it`s that negativity in the British press and that hatefulness, that horrible, you know, nastiness that we have - pervades our British media.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: OK, Omid. Elton is not shy, of course, about ever telling everyone what he feels. Do you think that the pressure on William and Kate is just going to get worse after they`re getting married?
SCOBIE: I actually think they`re in quite a lucky position, because after this wedding, after the Canadian state visit, they get to return to a fairly normal life in Anglesey.
William returns to his duties as the royal air forces, and Kate will pretty much be an army wife. And that continues until 2017 -
ANDERSON: I have to laugh. A fairly normal life? A prince and princess?
SCOBIE: Well, the press have actually been quite good at keeping their distance in Anglesey.
ANDERSON: OK. That`s true.
SCOBIE: We`ve never seen a picture of their house before. So I think we`ll see more of that. And of course, you know, the British press also learned that the palace gives them what they want in the end. So if they wait -
ANDERSON: If they cooperate -
SCOBIE: Exactly.
ANDERSON: Then, they`ll get what they want. Well, Elton John has also said - you know, he was really good friends with Princess Diana.
And he has said that Princess Diana would be very happy that William has chosen Kate Middleton. But we`ve also been thinking at SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, what would Princess Diana think about all the comparisons being made to Kate.
And so we`ve asked in our exclusive SHOWBIZ TONIGHT poll - "The Royal Wedding: Will Kate Middleton always be compared to Princess Diana?" Sixty- nine percent said yes and that Diana set the bar so high. But 31 percent said, no, Kate will create her own legacy.
A lot of people are also weighing in on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Facebook page. We actually got a really great comment from Jennifer S. who writes, "I think Kate will make her own legacy. Like William said, `No one can fill my mother`s shoes and no one should have to. Kate is her own person.`"
Omid, once Kate settles into the role, do you think that she will always deal with the comparisons to Princess Diana? Or will she separate herself and eventually carve out her own identity?
SCOBIE: Well, I`d like to se her do that and go forward and carve out her own niche. Unfortunately, I think people are always going to make those comparisons with Diana. But, I mean, there are much worse people you can be compared to.
So I think as long as Kate just goes on ahead with the things that she wants to do, continues being independent - that`s what William loves about her. That`s what Diana would have loved about her. I think she`ll be fine.
ANDERSON: And how must Prince William, as her husband, help her and support her to get her through this really pressure filled time?
SCOBIE: Well, Kate`s had eight years of practice -
ANDERSON: That`s true.
SCOBIE: So I think William has probably passed off every trick in the book. She knows exactly what she`s in for now.
ANDERSON: Omid Scobie, good to see you. Thank you so much. A.J.?
HAMMER: All right, Brooke. A big controversy today over Kate Middleton`s weight. Startling reports that Kate has lost weight ahead of her wedding. Should we be concerned?
Donald Trump in yet another nasty war of words about his possible presidential run, this time with the great Robert de Niro. We`re asking, should Trump give it a rest already?
And Lady Gaga`s emotional breakdown today all caught on tape.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LADY GAGA, POP STAR: I just sometimes feel like a loser still, you know? It`s crazy because it`s like we`re at the garden, I still sometimes feel like a loser kid in high school.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views. And now the SHOWBIZ wedding watch - inside stories about the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
TEXT: 1,900 guests were invited to the royal wedding ceremony. 650 guests to attend lunchtime reception, 300 to attend evening dinner/gala.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson, live in London all week long covering the royal wedding. A.J. Hammer is in New York. Wish you were here, A.J.
HAMMER: I do, too. You look fantastic. You`ve got to tell me, though, Brooke, what`s the weather forecast for the big wedding day on Friday right now?
ANDERSON: Oh, you know what? It`s been beautiful today, but on Friday, there is a 60 percent chance of rain. Oh, I`m praying it doesn`t rain on Friday. So let`s keep our fingers crossed.
But let`s talk a little bit about Kate Middleton right now, A.J., because there`s been a lot of concern about her weight. Kate, like many other brides, has dropped a ton of weight before the big day. And so people are a little bit worried about her.
Well, I spoke with CNN royal wedding contributor and the host of "So You Think You Can Dance," Cat Deeley, a little while ago and asked her, should we be concerned about Kate? She said, "No, I don`t think so." Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
CAT DEELEY, HOST, "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE": No, I really - I really, really don`t. I mean, there`s always this media frenzy surrounding any woman within the public eye about weight.
And I just think to go into it looking like - "Oh, well, it looks as though they`ve lost weight so maybe there`s an issue or maybe there`s a problem," is to simplify the situation far, far too much.
Sometimes, like you say, it`s exactly - you know, she`s running around. She doing a million things. She`s got to learn all about the protocol. And I think that`s one thing about Kate. She seems to be incredibly smart. She`s intellectual. She`s charismatic. And I think she`s learned from a lot of the mistakes that have happened before her.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: All right. You`ve got to stick around for more of my big interview with Cat Deeley. I`ll going to tell you why Cat is so nervous about covering the royal wedding.
HAMMER: Moving on now to Donald Trump, bringing his possible White House run to "Celebrity Apprentice." But did he put his foot in his mouth this time?
On "Celebrity Apprentice" last night, we saw the Donald make the cast squirm asking if they`d vote for him for president. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that today he made some very disturbing comments in the boardroom about Star Jones` big weight loss and the size of a certain body part.
When I first heard this I was thinking, "Are you kidding me?" Watch this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Just to be really, really real, I felt like a couple of these girls were like crawling up Star`s ass. I feel like even Hope or Marlee or any -
TRUMP: By the way, much nicer now that she lost all the weight.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It would not be very comfortable back you that then.
TRUMP: The other way wouldn`t have been acceptable.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: No.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Really? Did he really just say that? Maybe I shouldn`t be so surprised. That brings us to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - could Donald Trump`s words come back to haunt him?
CNN contributor Will Cain is with us today in New York. So Will, can you just imagine the sound bite playing in a Republican commercial? They play the sound bite. The announcer comes on, "Would you vote for that man for president?"
But seriously, to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, could Trump`s words come back to bite him in his you-know-what?
WILL CAIN, CNN CONTRIBUTOR: You know, A.J., that would be the conventional analysis. But look, having no filter on his mouth and being totally unafraid to be obnoxious - it`s worked for him so far. In fact, you know, it`s kind of made him appealing in the same way Charlie Sheen was in the short term.
HAMMER: Yes.
CAIN: But you know how that played out.
HAMMER: Well, you said short term. Exactly. I think it`s going to burn out with Donald Trump just like it did with Charlie Sheen with all of this exposure.
And Trump is already on to his new celebrity feud with, of all people, the great Robert De Niro. Yes. In a brand-new interview revealed today, De Niro was calling out Trump about his birther campaign. Listen to this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ROBERT DE NIRO, ACTOR: Certain people on the news in the last couple of weeks, what are they doing? What are they doing? It`s crazy. They`re talking about - they`re making statements about people that they don`t even back up. Go get the facts before you start saying things about people.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: So Trump of course struck back this morning, and he did it on "Fox and Friends." Watch this.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
TRUMP (through telephone): Well, he`s not the brightest bulb on the planet. I mean, I`ve been watching him over the years. And I like his acting. But you know, in terms of - when I watch him doing interviews and various other things, we`re not dealing with Albert Einstein.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
HAMMER: OK. Will, is it that hard for Donald Trump to take the high road? Wouldn`t it make him sound or seem so much better if he just didn`t respond to everybody who said something bad about him? And quite frankly, to call out Robert De Niro essentially as stupid? I mean, give me a break.
CAIN: But that will be contrary to all the (UNINTELLIGIBLE). The low road is working so well for him. Look, I think America`s a little full of Hollywood actors with high school diplomas telling us how to live our lives.
Now, listen, if Donald takes the high road, he loses the battle of ideas. But if he makes it about personality, him versus De Niro, he might stand a chance there.
HAMMER: Yes. But that`s where it could backfire, because, well, we may not want to hear this from some celebrities. To call him stupid - Robert De Niro might not be a great interview, not a stupid man at all.
CAIN: You may know that better than I do.
HAMMER: Yes.
CAIN: Great actor.
(CROSS TALK)
HAMMER: Well, I`ll be the first to tell you I really don`t like doing this stuff. But at the same time, a bright, bright man. I think it was a bad move. Will, great to see you. Thanks for being here. Appreciate it.
CAIN: Thanks for having me.
HAMMER: All right. On to now more big SHOWBIZ royal wedding news today. Princess Diana`s former lover speaking out today about suspicions he`s Prince Harry`s father.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Are you Prince Harry`s real father?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Wow. This is huge. Is Prince William`s brother really not his biological brother?
Calling Mariah Carey. Her husband, Nick, gives out their home phone number. Why the heck would he do that?
And brand-new Kardashian chaos. Khloe gets into a nasty fight with her mom about her weight.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
KHLOE KARDASHIAN, REALITY TV STAR: I`m sorry that I`m ruining your precious little brand, Mom. I`m so sorry. I`ll go become bulimic and anorexic.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Oh, did Mom cross a line here she shouldn`t have crossed? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Time now for the SHOWBIZ wedding watch - inside stories about the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
TEXT: Prince William to be transported to wedding in a Bentley, Kate in a Rolls Royce. Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh will be last to arrive to wedding.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
ANDERSON: All right. A beautiful shot of Buckingham Palace, the official home of the Queen of England. And hey, there is going to be a huge party, a rocking party there on Friday night after Prince William and Kate Middleton get married earlier in the day at Westminster Abbey.
I`m Brooke Anderson. I will be live in London all week long covering the royal wedding hoopla. A.J. Hammer is in New York.
HAMMER: And Brooke, I`ve got to tell you, I can feel the excitement all the way across the pond back here in New York.
And back home, there`s some big news in "The Buzz Today." Gaga becomes a godmother. Nick Cannon gives out his home phone number on the radio, which happens to be Mariah Carey`s number, too. And LeAnn Rimes big wedding surprise.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over) LeAnn makes it legal. LeAnn Rimes has finally tied the knot with longtime love, Eddie Cibrian. LeAnn tweeted, "Eddie and I are overwhelmed by the amount of lovely well-wishes. We are blessed and I am Mrs. Cibrian. So wonderful to wake up as husband and wife. Love to all of you."
LeAnn and Eddie met on the set of 2008 Lifetime movie, "Northern Lights," while both were still married to other people.
Nick Cannon in the dog house? Mariah Carey`s husband Nick Cannon had a lot of explaining to do after he gave out their home phone number live on his radio show. Fans started calling. The very frightened Mariah answered the phone.
Nick tweeted, "Just gave out my home phone number on air and my pregnant wife picked up the line. Oops." But it looks like Mariah eventually forgave him. Nick later tweeted, "Thanks to my amazing wife for being a good sport and allowing me to make good radio. @Mariah Carey: You are the best!"
Lady Gaga, the godmother? SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can reveal that Lady Gaga has an important new gig - godmother to Elton John and David Furnish`s baby boy, Zachary. While Gaga may seem like an odd choice to some, Elton told Barbara Walters on ABC`s "20/20" that she is the perfect choice for them.
JOHN: When you get to the real person, (UNINTELLIGIBLE). I love her to death and a lot of people think that`s crazy. But they don`t know her and we do.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: And now, here`s what`s coming up at the bottom of the hour on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Lady Gaga`s incredible breakdown revealed today. It`s all caught on tape.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LADY GAGA: I`m fighting for every kid that`s like me, that felt like I`ve felt and feels like I still feel.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: The big question today, is this an emotional new side of Gaga we`ve never seen before? Or is it just part of Gaga`s act?
Princess Diana`s former lover speaking out today about suspicions he`s Prince Harry`s father.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Are you Prince Harry`s real father?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: This would be huge. Is Prince William`s brother not really his full-on biological brother? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
And now the SHOWBIZ wedding watch - inside stories about the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
TEXT: Prince Harry to serve as best man and maid of honor will be Pippa Middleton. Wedding party will also include four bridesmaids and two pageboys, including two of William`s godchildren.

ANDERSON: Princess Diana`s former lover - he`s speaking out today about suspicions that he`s Prince Harry`s real father.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Are you prince Harry`s real father?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Today, why this daddy drama almost drove James Hewitt to suicide.
HAMMER: Royal snub. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT reveals the A-list stars who got shut out of the wedding of the century.
Lady Gaga`s incredible emotional breakdown revealed today and it`s all caught on tape.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LADY GAGA: I just sometimes feel like a loser still, you know? It`s crazy because it`s like we`re at the garden, but I still sometimes feel like a loser kid in high school.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Is this a brand-new side of Gaga we haven`t seen or just part of her act?
ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.
(MUSIC)
ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson, live in London all week long covering the royal wedding.
HAMMER: I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with big news breaking today. Brooke, royal wedding snubs? Really?
ANDERSON: That`s right, A.J. Most everybody wishes they could say, "I was there," for the wedding of the century, but only about 1,900 people got those coveted invitations.
Now, you would think that a lot of big time celebrities would be shoo- ins for this enormous event. But this isn`t Hollywood. This is a whole different ball game. And I can tell you some of the world`s biggest A-list celebrities will be watching the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on HLN just like the rest of us.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over) It`s the golden ticket to the biggest party of the century. A long list of Hollywood stars want in, but so many stars have been shut out.
MICHELLE OBAMA, UNITED STATES FIRST LADY: I wasn`t invited.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I haven`t been invited.
ANDERSON: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is about to reveal who`s in and who`s out of William and Kate`s big royal wedding.
RYAN SEACREST, RADIO SHOW HOST: Are you guys off to the royal wedding? Are you going to be headed out there?
DAVID BECKHAM, SOCCER PLAYER: Yes, we`re going to be going. We both got the invitation.
ANDERSON: The Beckhams are in. David Beckham revealed on Ryan Seacrest`s radio show that he and his wife Victoria are definitely on the royal short list.
BECKHAM: We`re very proud of our royal family. And it`s going to be an amazing occasion. We`re both proud to be going.
ANDERSON: Also on the short list, the late Princess Diana`s friend, Sir Elton John. John publicly confirmed he and partner, David Furnish, were invited after long denying it, telling Canada`s CTV, quote, "I`ve been trying to be discreet. Yes, we got an invitation."
Let`s have a run away toast for Kanye West who is also reportedly one of the lucky 1,900 guests headed to Westminster Abbey. Even Madonna`s ex, Guy Richie, is expected to sit in the pews with big British stars like comedian Rowan Atkinson a.k.a. Mr. Bean.
But SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has to ask, which big stars were shockingly sheared from William and Kate`s royal roster?
PIERS MORGAN, HOST, "PIERS MORGAN TONIGHT": Are you going to the royal wedding?
SIMON COWELL, FORMER JUDGE, "AMERICAN IDOL": I haven`t been invited.
ANDERSON: Simon Cowell eliminated? Yes. Looks like he didn`t have the X factor to make the list. But Simon isn`t the most shocking star to be left off the royal wedding guest list.
REGIS PHILBIN, CO-HOST, "LIVE WITH REGIS AND KELLY": Do you plan on going to the royal wedding coming up this spring?
M. OBAMA: No, no, I`m not going to go.
KELLY RIPA, CO-HOST, "LIVE WITH REGIS AND KELLY": You`re not going to go?
M. OBAMA: I`m not going.
RIPA: Why aren`t you going to go?
M. OBAMA: I wasn`t invited.
ANDERSON: It`s the Obama omission heard around the world. Michelle Obama even met the queen in 2009, but even that didn`t score her the invite. The First Lady told Regis and Kelly it`s no big deal.
M. OBAMA: You know what? They - you know, marriage is a personal, private thing. They should invite who they want to invite. If I get invited, I`ll go.
ANDERSON: No such luck for the Obamas. And ditto for a member of the royal family. Despite having been Princess Diana`s close friend and having her own big royal wedding, Sarah Ferguson was left off the list, possibly because of her recent public dramas.
But Fergie`s two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Eugenie got the nod.
GEORGE MICHAEL, SINGER: I`m just incredibly happy for them that they - incredibly happy for William and incredibly happy for his partner. And I`m absolutely sure that Diana would have loved the whole thing.
ANDERSON: Another of Princess Di`s star friends, George Michael, wasn`t invited. But he doesn`t mine, tweeting the prince and his bride should be, quote, "Surrounded by people they love, not dodgy, ex-con pop stars."
So many stars shocking off the royal wedding list, but Hollywood is still buzzing about the wedding of the century. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT caught up with some big time stars with big time royal envy.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, yes, I`ll definitely watch the royal wedding. I`m very excited for them.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I`ll be the only one who will start earliest and stay latest. I love all that (EXPLETIVE DELETED). It`s fun.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I will watch along with everyone else when it comes along. I want to see what she`s going to wear. Don`t we all?
(END VIDEOTAPE)
And if you think it was tough to get an invitation to the wedding, only about 600 people scored an invite to the post-wedding lunchtime reception here at Buckingham Palace hosted by the Queen of England.
And then, only about 300 got invited to the hottest ticket in town, the dinner and dance party hosted by Prince Charles here at Buckingham Palace as well.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is covering the royal wedding like no other entertainment news show. And we`re getting some help from the host of "So You Think Can You Dance" and CNN royal wedding contributor, Cat Deeley.
But when I caught up with Cat, guess what? She told me she is terrified about covering the royal wedding. And I said, no need to worry, just have fun. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
(voice-over) So Cat, so many people know and love you from "So You Think You Can Dance."
DEELEY: Yes.
ANDERSON: You are a tremendous personality and presenter. But yet, on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," you said that you are terrified about this prospect of being a royal wedding contributor for CNN. Why?
DEELEY: Well, I kind of am. It`s a huge, huge audience. But this kind of - you know, this is going to be such a big, big event. You know, it`s kind of the eye of the media storm and CNN is covering everything.
I`m going throb with Piers Morgan and Anderson Cooper, so I know I`ve got some good backup. Do you know what I mean? A good backup. (UNINTELLIGIBLE) and we will definitely bring all the CNN viewers every single last intimate detail of the wedding as it happens.
ANDERSON: OK. So we know it is a huge deal here in the U.K. and around the world. And in America, a lot of people are obsessed with the royal wedding. And you have seen both - U.K. and America.
DEELEY: Yes.
ANDERSON: Where is it the bigger deal?
DEELEY: Oh, goodness. Well, I think it`s the bigger deal here because, you know what? It`s happening here. I think there`s a real sense of celebration. We`re right in the middle of Easter here. It`s bank holiday Monday.
It`s a glorious day. The weather hasn`t been like this in London since 1949.
ANDERSON: It`s beautiful.
DEELEY: So everybody just feels as though they`re on holiday and they`re ready to celebrate.
ANDERSON: And 1,900 people have been invited, will be attending the royal wedding. Of course, family, friends, dignitaries, representatives of the church, but also a number of celebrities.
DEELEY: Absolutely.
ANDERSON: David and Victoria Beckham, Elton John, Rowan Atkinson.
DEELEY: Joss Stone -
ANDERSON: Joss Stone. Are there any surprises or do you think any snubs?
DEELEY: No. I don`t think so, really. I was kind of surprised about Guy Richie, actually.
ANDERSON: Yes. Guy Richie is coming.
DEELEY: I thought that Guy Richie was going and I went, oh - and I still don`t quite know -
ANDERSON: Apparently, he is a good friend of Prince William`s now.
DEELEY: But I didn`t know that.
ANDERSON: I didn`t either.
DEELEY: I had not a clue. But no, I think it`s a really nice selection of people. And what I like about it as well is there are people from the charity.
There are people from Kate`s village and they`ve done a whole thing on the invite where it says, "Morning suits, all lounge seats," which I think just goes to show that they (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
We know not everybody has got a morning suit. It doesn`t matter where you`re from or what your celebrity status is, so to speak. I think it`s just kind of a great kind of universal wedding, which is what all great weddings are.
ANDERSON: Well, a lot of people are talking about Kate and the pressure that she is under. She`s lost a little bit of weight. And I say, you know what? Most brides do before their wedding day.
DEELEY: Absolutely.
ANDERSON: But there are people who are concerned. Do you think there`s reason to be concerned?
DEELEY: No, I really - I really, really don`t. I mean, there`s always this media frenzy surrounding any woman within the public eye about weight. She seems to be incredibly smart. She`s intellectual. She`s charismatic.
And I think she`s learned from a lot of the mistakes that have happened before her. And she has absolutely fully identified the kind of ways that Princess Diana maybe tripped up or didn`t know enough about.
ANDERSON: Speaking of Diana, you know, she was the people`s princess. And a lot of people are comparing Kate to Diana.
And William has said, "No, no, no. I do not expect her to fill my mother`s shoes in any way." But do you think people in Britain are expecting that in some way, shape or form?
DEELEY: I don`t think they`re expecting her to fill the shoes, because I think the moment you try to emulate somebody else, I think you`re on a slippery slope to nowhere.
I think that she should maybe do is take the best parts of Princess Diana`s kind of time here with the monarchy and use and that look at it and learn from it.
ANDERSON: Cat Deeley, thank you so much.
DEELEY: It`s really good to see you.
ANDERSON: Nice to see you, too. I look forward to seeing you more this week.
DEELEY: Oh, I`m going to be around.
(CROSS TALK)
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Cat is just lovely. And while she did say that she thinks Kate will take the best parts of Princess Diana and learn from those, she said that Kate ultimately will be her very own modern-day princess.
HAMMER: Very much her own woman, indeed. All right. Well, someone who is definitely starring far away from the royal wedding is Princess Diana`s former lover. But he is speaking out today about suspicions he`s Prince Harry`s father.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Are you prince Harry`s real father?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: This could be huge. Think about it. Are Princes William and Harry not biological brothers?
Gaga`s giant meltdown - her biggest fears and insecurities. She even calls herself a big loser. It`s all caught on tape.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LADY GAGA: I`m fighting for every kid that`s like me, that felt like I felt and feels like I still feel.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Is this a dramatic new side of Gaga or just part of her act? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
And now the SHOWBIZ wedding watch - inside stories about the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
TEXT: Five horse-drawn royal carriages will transport bridal party and royal family back to Buckingham Palace. At 1:25 p.m., the couple will reappear with the queen and their families on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Has it ever crossed your mind that you could possibly be Prince Harry`s real father?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Days before Prince William`s wedding, there are new revelations about his younger brother, Harry, from the man their mother admitted to having a torrid affair with. The burning question today is, is James Hewitt really Prince Harry`s dad?
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson live in London all week long covering the excitement of the royal wedding. A.J. Hammer is in New York.
HAMMER: And Brooke, this is a question that has now dodged the royal family for two decades. And a lot of people are saying the older Harry gets, the more he looks like James Hewitt, right?
The suspicions and whispers were so intense they drove Princess Diana`s former lover out of England. And you will see in Hewitt`s new interview today with "Inside Edition," the pain and anguish of the rumor still stings.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Are you Prince Harry`s real father?
JAMES HEWITT, PRINCESS DIANA`S FORMER LOVER: I mean, I - no.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: NO. Have you ever had any doubt? Has it ever crossed your mind that you could possibly be Prince Harry`s real father?
HEWITT: I`m not happy talking about it because there`s been such a lot made of this. I`ve already said that I`m not.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: If I could just ask you, because the resemblance is so uncanny between you and Prince Harry -
HEWITT: You`re trying very hard but I`m not going to be drawn into it.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Well, Hewitt also reveals on "Inside Edition" that he actually considered killing himself because of all of the stress. Hewitt now lives in Spain. He says he will tune in to watch the royal wedding.
There is more big news just in today. It`s about Lady Gaga`s tearful confessions caught on tape. Incredible brand-new video today of Lady Gaga having a full-on, all bawl-out breakdown.
The big question is, are we witnessing a new vulnerable side of Lady Gaga or, begs the question, is it just another part of the intricate web that is Gaga`s performance art?
Gaga`s breakdown was caught while she was filming an upcoming HBO documentary called "Gaga Presents: The Monster Ball Tour" at Madison Square Garden.
Now, she was really, as you`re about to see, grappling with some serious insecurities. And even though Gaga knew those cameras were rolling, she let it all out. You`ve got to see this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LADY GAGA: I think about how I don`t give a (EXPLETIVE DELETED) that people don`t understand what I do, as long as my fans understand. I just don`t want my fans to ever feel - I just sometimes feel like a loser still, you know? It`s crazy because it`s like we`re at the garden but I still sometimes feel like a loser kid in high school.
And I just got to pick my (EXPLETIVE DELETED) up. I`ve got to pick myself up. And have I to tell myself I`m a superstar every morning so that I can get through this day and be for my fans what they need for me to be.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: We really have never, ever seen Gaga like this before. The costumes, the masks, the Gaga persona - nowhere to be found at all.
"Inside Edition" correspondent, Megan Alexander, is here with me in New York. And Megan, I`ve got to tell you, I was really amazed, not entirely surprised but amazed, that Gaga would show such an motional, insecure, vulnerable side of herself.
MEGAN ALEXANDER, CORRESPONDENT, "INSIDE EDITION": Initially, I was, too, A.J., because this is an artist who presented herself as a bit distant. Let`s face it. Whether it was the bizarre outfit, limited media access, arriving at an awards show in an egg and therefore ignoring all media interviews.
But for me, A.J., a moment came when she called into "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," and the young lady from Canada had performed "Born This Way" on the Internet.
HAMMER: Right.
ALEXANDER: And she talked about how she wanted to encourage the next generation, started to reveal that vulnerable side of herself. And I`ll tell you something - I like it.
HAMMER: Yes. And the fact that the cameras were rolling - and she knew it, because the switch doesn`t shut off.
ALEXANDER: Yes.
HAMMER: You know, she`s aware. She`s a performer. And what makes this so striking is that Gaga has really worked so hard, as we all know, building up her image so people do see her as this larger than life megastar, not a fragile woman who battles insecurity.
But that is exactly what we see in HBO`s provocative peek into Gaga`s world. Look at some more.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LADY GAGA: Sometimes, I still feel like people are trying to destroy me.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: What are you going to tell them tonight?
LADY GAGA: That I cannot be destroyed.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: That`s what you do every night.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I cannot be destroyed and I will not be destroyed and you will never destroy the kingdom that is my fans. I`m fighting for every kid that`s like me that felt like I felt or feels like I still feel.
It hurts when I know how much authenticity and how much genuine blood is in my spirit and how much I feel like people don`t know that, you know.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: You know, Gaga has used the media so carefully to build her image. Is that kind of what we`re seeing now in a shifting of gears?
ALEXANDER: Absolutely. And I`ll tell you something, A.J. I love it because the young people who look to these celebrities. They think they`re flawless, perfect, without fears. For her to let that shell crack and show that she`s human, it going a world of good.
HAMMER: Yes. Great message. I agree. All right. Megan Alexander, thank you so much. And you can see the entire Gaga documentary on HBO on May 7th.

KHLOE KARDASHIAN: I`m sorry that I`m ruining your precious little brand, Mom. I`m so sorry. I`ll just go and become bulimic and anorexic.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: I`m starting to wonder if those Kardashians ever have a private conversation. I mean, really. It`s the incredible, caught on tape Kardashian smackdown. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

HAMMER: And Brooke, get this. Khloe Kardashian is too fat, according to her own mom. Now, we know the Kardashians let it all hang out on their reality shows.
Well, on "Khloe and Lamar," Kris Jenner slams Khloe for setting a poor example on the diet program that they plug. To say Khloe didn`t take the criticism well - that`s a massive understatement.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
KRIS JENNER, KHLOE KARDASHIAN`S MOTHER: Can I have a little chat with you about Quicktrim?
KHLOE KARDASHIAN: Yes.
JENNER: I just think that the way that you`re presenting yourself in the media lately is a little off-base. And I really feel like you and I need to have a chat about what you`re doing to the brand.
KHLOE KARDASHIAN: What are you trying to say exactly?
JENNER: I`m trying to say that I feel that you could not chat about how many cookies you`re eating in between meals.
KHLOE KARDASHIAN: To tell me I`m ruining an entire brand because of my weight gain - like that makes me feel like, (EXPLETIVE DELETED) get over yourself. You`re a (EXPLETIVE DELETED) raging lunatic and you`re so evil. Are you trying to say that I`m fat?
JENNER: Not exactly in those words, Khloe.
KHLOE KARDASHIAN: Mom, what the (EXPLETIVE DELETED), honestly? You say things at the worst time and how you say it, it`s (EXPLETIVE DELETED) mean and it`s hurtful.
So sorry that I`m ruining your precious little brand, Mom. I`m so sorry. I`ll just go become bulimic and anorexic. Thank you. Bye.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Classy. Never a dull moment with the Kardashians.
ANDERSON: OK. Day one in London has been a media frenzy for all of the network reporters like me. But the best is yet to come for Jason Sauter. He is the winner of the CNN iReporter contest.
And we announced that right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. He is coming to London to cover all of the pageantry, all of the hoopla surrounding the royal wedding.
Now, Jason is not here yet, but he`s already filing reports about all the attention that he and his girlfriend have received about his exciting new gig. Take a look.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JASON SAUTER, WINNER, CNN ROYAL WEDDING IREPORTER: So since it was announced on Tuesday, on Wednesday and Thursday, we`ve done lots of interviews with local media, television, radio, newspapers. It was a contest for CNN -
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes.
SAUTER: I did it as a joke. Like, "Wouldn`t it be fun to submit a video?" And immediately, she`s like, "Yes, we`re submitting a video."
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I love it.
SAUTER: The next thing you know, here we are. All of the media coverage has obviously got us very busy. We haven`t really packed much. Nancy`s first question is, of course, always "What am I going to wear?" And she`s posing it to me like I`m a fashion expert, but clearly, I`m not.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: OK. Jason, take it from me. You`d better brush up on your fashion because that is a significant - a huge part of the conversation. Everybody`s talking about what`s everyone going to wear, what is Kate`s wedding dress going to look like.
I look forward to seeing Jason and his girlfriend, Nancy. They are adorable and they will be here on Wednesday. We`ll be hearing from them all week long.
