THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.
BROOKE ANDERSON, CO-HOST: I`m Brooke Anderson outside of Buckingham Palace, and what an amazing day it has been. The royal wedding - Kate and William looked spectacular.
A.J. HAMMER, CO-HOST: And Brooke, might I say, you look spectacular. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. And tonight, on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, we`re breaking some big news about the frenzy surrounding the royal wedding.
ANDERSON: Right now, a SHOWBIZ TONIGHT royal event, dressed to thrill. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT in London with the remarkable story behind Kate Middleton`s breathtaking wedding dress.
Plus, the royal wedding fashion hits and misses. How about the hats?
HAMMER: Will and Kate`s big kiss-off. Their fairytale royal kisses. Not one but two. How did these smooches stack up?
ANDERSON: Kate compared to Di. The absolutely remarkable similarities and differences between Kate Middleton`s wedding and Princess Diana`s.
HAMMER: A special edition of TV`s most provocative entertainment news show, a SHOWBIZ TONIGHT royal event -
ANDERSON: Starts right now.
(MUSIC)
ANDERSON: Hi, I`m Brooke Anderson coming to you from London. And I can tell you that firsthand this wedding lived up to the hype today because, A.J., it seemed that everybody was dressed to thrill.
HAMMER: Yes. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. And Brooke, that definitely includes you. I definitely believe you should have been invited to William and Kate`s wedding today. You would have fit right in.
ANDERSON: Oh, that`s so sweet of to you say that, A.J. But nothing that I could have worn would compare to the magnificent that the princess bride chose to wear today.
And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is bringing you the remarkable inside story on Kate Middleton`s dress, which, incredibly, was kept a secret until today.
You could practically hear the gasps around the world when we finally got to see what Kate Middleton chose to wear when she exchanged vows with the possible future king of England.
But I can tell you Kate was not the only one dressed to thrill today because she definitely had a lot of company. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
ANDERSON (voice-over) That wedding, that procession and that kiss and that other kiss. Today`s royal wedding of Prince William and the new Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, delivered on its promise of being the grand event of the century so far.
But with all the wonderful moments we saw today, all the world is still looking and talking about one thing - that dress.
JESSICA CALLAN, "LIFE AND STYLE WEEKLY": People are absolutely blown away by the dress. It was so beautiful.
ANDERSON: From the moment Kate arrived for her wedding the Westminster Abbey today, giving the world its first full view of her wedding dress, you could hear jaws dropping all over.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: And look how beautiful she looks.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It`s absolutely perfect.
ANDERSON: Even William himself gave the dress a thumbs up. As Kate arrived at the altar, we could see him tell her, "You look beautiful." No doubt about it, the new Duchess of Cambridge was dressed to thrill.
CALLAN: And really she took everyone`s breath away.
ANDERSON: And now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can reveal the secrets of Kate`s dress.
CALLAN: And William and Kate were very determined to make sure that nobody found out who the designer was - Sarah Burton, who the chief designer for Alexander McQueen.
(UNINTELLIGIBLE) in lace - all the lace was hand-stitched by the royal school of needle-makers in the U.K. And apparently, the women who sewed it, every three hours they had to wash their hands to make sure everything was kept clean and they replaced the needles every three hours as well. A lot of work was put into this dress.
ANDERSON: But SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you even though Kate stole the show, just about everyone was dressed to thrill at this royal event.
CALLAN: This is a fashion event of the year.
ANDERSON: Kate`s younger sister Pippa, who was the maid of honor, impressed with her dress.
CALLAN: She really looked like a bombshell there, I think. Great, great coloring. Wonderful figure. And you know, there have been quite a few comments about how her derriere looked in that dress.
ANDERSON: In contrast, best man Prince Harry`s date, Chelsy Davy, got mixed review.
CALLAN: Some said she looked like she just stumbled out of a club from the night before. But you know what? She looked very happy to be there. And she`s probably thinking, "This could be me in a few years if I`m careful."
ANDERSON: And the celebrity wedding guests were noticed, too. Elton John gave his flamboyant style a rest and sported a dapper suit. And that other royal British couple, the Beckhams, impressed as well.
CALLAN: You had David Beckham there wearing his Ralph Lauren suit, and Victoria Beckham wearing her own design. Considering she`s very heavily pregnant, she managed to keep that bump hidden.
ANDERSON: And lest we forget, all that head gear.
CALLAN: The women with the fascinators, the feathers, all sorts. It looked beautiful.
ANDERSON: But Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice`s head gear didn`t impress "The View`s" Joy Behar.
JOY BEHAR, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": It looked like they are auditioning for "Let`s Make a Deal." You know that show?
ANDERSON: In fact, it seemed the only thing no one seemed to be talking about is what Prince William wore.
CALLAN: That scarlet uniform is from Irish guards regiment - looked awfully beautiful. But I thought William looked utterly dashing like a real fairytale prince.
ANDERSON: But even if Prince William got upstaged at his wedding by his wife, at least he got a better prize - a beautiful bride and a royal wedding for the ages.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
Without a doubt all eyes were on the stunning Kate Middleton and her beautiful dress. I can tell you it was worth the wait and the months of guessing.
Joining me now here in London is Yvonne Yorke. She is a royals expert for We TV and also a "Huffington Post" royal contributor. Thanks for being here, Yvonne. Also commentator Imogen Lloyd Webber, who is also the author of "The Single Girl`s Survival Guide." Good to see you both.
And everybody is still talking about that moment when Kate stepped out of the car in front of Westminster Abbey. Yvonne, you were right there outside of Westminster Abbey. You saw that firsthand as it was happening.
YVONNE YORKE, ROYALS EXPERT, WE TV: Absolutely.
ANDERSON: Do you think the new Duchess of Cambridge lived up to expectations with that Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown?
YORKE: Well, in the sense that she looked every inch a future queen - regal, dignified, classic. So in that sense, absolutely, she lived up to what everybody was hoping
ANDERSON: I sense a "but" coming. Did you love the dress?
YORKE: I thought the dress was perfect for her. It was classic. It was traditional. Most importantly, it will stand the test of time.
I don`t think it was particularly the most fashion forward dress. It`s not a dress where you look at and say, gosh, "I`ve never seen anything like it before."
ANDERSON: Yes, you`re right.
YORKE: So not exactly cutting-edge that we usually would expect from a Sarah Burton-type dress.
ANDERSON: You`re right. It was more traditional, and it has been compared to some royal predecessors, including Grace Kelly - Princess Grace.
IMOGEN LLOYD WEBBER, AUTHOR, "THE SINGLE GIRL`S SURVIVAL GUIDE: And Princess Margaret as well, the queen`s sister.
ANDERSON: Yes. Yes. But it was still updated and had a more modern feel than those dresses.
WEBBER: And modern, especially around the neckline. I have to say, look at Pippa Middleton -
ANDERSON: I know. I know.
WEBBER: My god - a fashion icon in the making.
ANDERSON: Drop dead gorgeous.
WEBBER: And I have to say that maybe that`s where Sarah Burton had her fun. She knew with Kate that she had to do that certain look, but Pippa looked fabulous.
ANDERSON: She went all sexy with Pippa, didn`t she?
YORKE: Oh, with the cowl neck from the front and from the back most importantly.
ANDERSON: And they were complementary to each other, Kate`s and Pippa`s dress, but they were different, in a sense, as well.
WEBBER: Exactly. It wasn`t inappropriate at all. They did go together. But my word. I think Pippa is one to watch, I have to say.
ANDERSON: Everyone will say, "Look at that Pippa, she is a stunner." Well, you know, everybody today is raving - all the headlines are raving about Kate Middleton and what she wore and how she looked.
But Yvonne, years from now, what do you think people will be saying? How will she fare?
YORKE: Well, that`s what I said earlier. This dress really looked like it will stand the test of time. Look at with Princess Grace`s dress, from the 1950s - still looks as good today as it did back, you know, 50 years ago.
And I think that Catherine Middleton`s dress will be very similar in that sense. It doesn`t look dated. She`s never going to look back in 30 years and say, "What was I thinking?"
ANDERSON: Right. And you know what? She could have done that if she had taken too much of a risk and if it had been a trendy-type look, she could have looked back and regretted that one day. So she went safer.
YORKE: Absolutely. And I think that people - you know, there are some people sort of sniffed that perhaps, you know, Catherine was a little too much on the conservative, safe-side of fashion.
And I said, what do they want? Would they be happy if she showed up at Westminster Abbey in an egg, you know, like lady Gaga with her latex skirt?
ANDERSON: No. No.
YORKE: So I`m glad she went with classic.
ANDERSON: She had to be appropriate. She had to be respectful. It was Westminster Abbey and it was her. She wanted William to recognize her when she walked down the aisle.
And Imogen, it would not have been complete without something borrowed. So let`s talk about her head gear that, beautiful Cartier tiara that she borrowed from the queen. Do you think that was perfect?
WEBBER: Perfect. I also like to call it the "King`s Speech" tiara. Imagine Colin Firth giving it to the queen mother, because, of course, that`s what happened. And then, the queen got it on her 18th birthday.
ANDERSON: Eighteenth birthday.
WEBBER: Terribly appropriate because it was quite low key as a tiara goes. She looked regal. She looked royal, but at the same time, she was slightly keeping it real.
We saw that throughout the day. That`s actually Diana`s legacy of making the monarchy, making the royals actually more approachable and more accessible. So everything from Harry joking and he was joking all the way -
ANDERSON: I love Prince Harry, the little smirk that he gave. They walked down the aisle - Prince Harry had to sneak a peek at Kate before Prince William and then mouthed to him "Wait until you see her."
I love Prince Harry no matter what the situation. What do you think their mother Princess Diana would be saying?
WEBBER: I think so very proud of how grounded and how wonderful her sons are -
ANDERSON: Yes.
WEBBER: And actually how loved. They very much are the people`s princes.
ANDERSON: People love them. Imogen Lloyd Webber, Yvonne York, thank you both. And be sure to check out Yvonne`s wedding special premiere, "Will and Kate Forever" tonight on Wedding Central and We TV. A.J.
HAMMER: All right, Brooke. You`ve got wear that hat every day. Now, I want to hear from you. It`s our royal SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll, "Kate Middleton`s Beautiful Wedding Dress: Will Kate become a bigger fashion icon than Princess Diana?" Yes, Kate`s got amazing style. No, Diana was one of a kind.
You can vote online at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. You can always us as well. Our address - showbiztonight@cnn.com.
So how about Will and Kate`s big kiss-off? Their fairytale royal kisses. Yes, not one but two. How did these smooches stack up?
Kate, Diana - what was the same? What was different? We`ve got the absolutely remarkable similarities and differences between Catherine`s wedding and Princess Diana`s. You`re watching a special edition of SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, a showbiz royal event on HLN news and views.
And now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT brings you the most memorable royal wedding moments.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ROWAN WILLIAMS, ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY: William Arthur Philip Louis, will thou have this woman for thy wedded wife, to live together according to God`s law in the holiest state of matrimony? Will thou love her, comfort her, honor her and keep her in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, keep thee only unto her so long as you both shall live?
HRH PRINCE WILLIAM, DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE: I will.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
ANDERSON: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT bringing you the most memorable royal wedding moments. William and Kate - the big balcony kiss. Actually, there were two kisses.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson coming to you from London. And it was the fairytale kiss that everybody had been waiting for. So what was the verdict? Was it as romantic as everyone had hoped? Or did the lip lock lack luster?
Joining me here in London is Imogen Lloyd Webber, commentator and author of "The Single Girl`s Survival Guide." Joining us from New York is HLN`s very own royal wedding contributor, Lisa Vanderpump, who is also a star of the "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
OK, ladies, we know when they hit that balcony, they excited the huge crowd that had gathered here at Buckingham Palace. Half a million people had gathered right here around the fountain.
Imogen, when you saw them kiss not once but twice, what did you think? Awkward or perfect?
WEBBER: Well, body language experts have already been on the case of that. Apparently, the 1981 Charles and Diana kiss defined awkward, while this one today was very loving. It was wonderful, though, and it`s one of the defining images, of course, of the wedding itself -
ANDERSON: Yes.
WEBBER: It will be there forever. What I love most on a personal note is that my friend, Rose van Custem`s little daughter, Grace -
ANDERSON: The three-year-old bridesmaid. Can we bring up that picture to see that?
WEBBER: She had her hands over her ears during the second kiss because the fly pass is going on and the crowd was screaming, "We want Kate." This little three-year-old girl - it was just all too much for her. She will have that image for the rest of her life.
ANDERSON: She`s going to love that, though.
WEBBER: Yes.
ANDERSON: She was so expressive and it was such a real moment. When I saw that picture, I thought William and Kate are going to love it. This little bridesmaid is going to see that and love it one day. It was a perfect moment. And hey, she`s three years old. What are you going to get, right? What do you expect?
But we have to listen to what Piers Morgan and CNN`s royal contributor, Cat Deeley, had to say about the balcony kisses.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PIERS MORGAN, HOST, "PIERS MORGAN TONIGHT": It was a great big juicy smacker.
CAT DEELEY, CNN ROYAL CONTRIBUTOR: No, it wasn`t.
MORGAN: (UNINTELLIGIBLE). Seriously, that was a great moment.
(CROSSTALK)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.
MORGAN: That`s it, but that was a good one. That was much, much better than Andrew and Fergie`s, and I would say it was longer and more passionate than Charles and Diana`s.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: OK. Lisa, Piers said it was longer and more passionate than Charles and Diana`s kiss. How do you think it stacked up to Charles and Diana?
LISA VANDERPUMP, REALITY TV STAR, "THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS": No, Brooke. "Passionate" - not a word I`d use to define that kiss. Not at all.
So you know, what was funny is because when he pulled away, his expression was so reminiscent of his mother, the way he looked down in his eyes. I can`t imagine why he`d feel self-conscious. There were only two billion people watching. What`s his problem?
ANDERSON: It was not one kiss but two kisses, as I said. And I was scanning tweets and online commentary after the kisses. And Imogen, I saw several tweets that said, "Whoa, Prince William, two kisses. I always knew he was a rebel." What did you think?
WEBBER: Outdoing his Mom there. I think probably they realized it was too quick and some photographers might not have got it, and the crowd was still wanting a little more.
ANDERSON: We wanted an encore.
WEBBER: Exactly. They were giving the crowd what they wanted. And at the end of the day, hundreds of thousands of people were there for them to see the kiss. It was the moment.
ANDERSON: You could almost see them blush, though, when they did it and then they had to do it again.
WEBBER: Wouldn`t you?
ANDERSON: Lisa, the second time around, I don`t know that it was much longer than the first time, maybe half a second, maybe one full second.
VANDERPUMP: Yes. No, we could very clearly see that he thought, "Oops, didn`t make enough of a statement. I`ve got to go back in for more."
ANDERSON: Well, I`m certainly glad that he did. It was such a beautiful moment. And just - they seemed so happy, they`re beaming. They`re just glowing. Congratulations to them.
Imogen Lloyd Webber, Lisa Vanderpump, thanks, ladies. A.J., back over to you.
HAMMER: All right. Thank you, Brooke. And now on to the royal wedding fashion hits and misses. Kate`s dress, the bridesmaid dresses, fascinators, hats. Who rocked? Who bombed? Coming up.
And I finally understand the difference between a fascinator and a hat. I feel very smart now. Hollywood royal scene making a big splash today. Big stars at this royal wedding. We`re going to reveal who was there next. This is a special edition of SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, a SHOWBIZ royal event on HLN news and views.
ANDERSON: And now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT brings you the most memorable royal wedding moments.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ARCHBISHOP WILLIAMS: Catherine Middleton, will thou have this man as thy wedded husband, to live together according to God`s law in the holiest state of matrimony? Will thou love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health and, forsaking all others, keep only unto him so long as you both shall live?
HRH PRINCESS CATHERINE, DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE: I will.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ARCHBISHOP WILLIAMS: With this ring I thee wed.
PRINCE WILLIAM: With this ring I thee wed.
ARCHBISHOP WILLIAMS: With my body, I thee honor.
PRINCE WILLIAM: With my body, I thee honor.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
ANDERSON: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT bringing you the most memorable royal wedding moments. Prince William slips the ring on to the finger of his beautiful bride, Kate Middleton. The ring is made of Welsh gold, which was a gift from his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. William has decided not to wear a wedding band. It`s said that he`s just not one for jewelry.
All right. A.J., William and Kate were obviously the biggest stars of the day. And now they are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, but there were plenty of other big stars here today, too.
HAMMER: Absolutely, Brooke. Take a look at this. We`re going to show them to you right now. Elton John arriving with his partner, David Furnish. Elton performed at Westminster Abbey during funeral of William`s Mom, Princess Diana, of course, back in 1997.
Soccer star David Beckham and his wife, a very pregnant Victoria. Check out Victoria`s fascinating fascinator. William is friends with Beckham. They looked smashing, didn`t they? Madonna`s ex-husband, Guy Ritchie, was there. He`s actually a distant relative of Kate`s. Guy came solo.
ANDERSON: Celebrities have been tweeting all day about the royal wedding, too. So check out our twitter flipper at the bottom of the screen for some really great tweets.
HAMMER: And Brooke, we also asked our viewers and our Facebook fans to send us their special messages for Will and Kate today. So many of you responded. Diane calling in to "Showbiz on Call" from California. Listen to Diane.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
DIANE, CALLER FROM CALIFORNIA: I want to wish you the best, happiest marriage you could ever possibly have and don`t try to step into Princess Diana`s shoes. Fill your own with the grace and poise you already carry.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
HAMMER: Thank you so much, Diane. Here`s Nancy calling in from Texas.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
NANCY, CALLER FROM TEXAS: I want to wish Prince William and Kate best wishes, best of luck. I`m a flight attendant and in honor of your wedding, we wore tiaras tonight on our flight. Had a blast. Lots of fun.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
ANDERSON: Thank you, Nancy. Now over to Facebook. Janet M. writes this, "Kate and Will, remember to never go to bed angry, never leave for work without a kiss and always fight for your happily ever after."
And Sue S. has a message for William, "You have made your mom proud. This is the day she dreamt of. You`re the man she hoped you would turn out to be. Now, that you are becoming a husband, good luck, William and may God bless you and Kate."
HAMMER: Here`s what`s coming up at the bottom of the hour on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT - royal wedding fashion hits and misses. Kate`s dress, the bridesmaids` dresses, fascinator, hats. All that stuff. Who wore it well? Who didn`t? That`s next.
Kate compared to Di. The remarkable similarities and differences between Kate`s wedding and Princess Diana`s. You`re watching a special edition on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN - a SHOWBIZ royal event on HLN news and views.
ANDERSON: And now SHOWBIZ TONIGHT brings you the most memorable royal wedding.

HAMMER: I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Tonight, on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, we are breaking some big news about the frenzy surrounding the royal wedding.
ANDERSON: A SHOWBIZ royal event, royal wedding fashion hits and misses. Fabulous fascinators, gravity-defying hats. Who rocked it royal style and who was a royal mess?
HAMMER: The absolutely remarkable similarities and differences between Catherine`s wedding and Princess Diana`s. Moment by moment. Side by side.
ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.
(MUSIC)
ANDERSON: Hi, there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson coming to you from London. It is 30 minutes past the hour and, A.J., what an extraordinary day, a royal wedding. But everybody`s talking about the fashion hits and misses.
HAMMER: That`s right, Brooke. Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. And Brooke, let me just say right here, right now, flat out, your fashion today a definite hit.
ANDERSON: Thank you so much, A.J. I really appreciate it. I`m having a lot of fun with the styles and with the fashion over here in London.
But I have to say the new Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, was stunning. And it all started this morning around 11:00 a.m. local time when the world watched this moment, the moment that Kate stepped out of her limousine and we saw her spectacular Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dress for the very first time.
It set off a day of high royal fashion. And let me tell you, we are going to leave no stone unturned as we look at all of the amazing fashion hits and misses, royals and celebrities alike.
With me tonight in London is Yvonne Yorke. She is a great royals expert for We TV and Wedding Central`s royal expert and also a contributor for "The Huffington Post." Good to see you, Yvonne.
YORKE: Great to be here.
ANDERSON: In New York, we have Lisa Vanderpump. She`s HLN`s very own royal wedding contributor and you`ll recognize her from "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
OK. Kate Middleton`s dress, definitely British, had French and British Chantilly lace. Yvonne, when she stepped out of that car - you and I spoke about this earlier - you were right there outside of Westminster Abbey. I know it was a hit, but do you think that it exceeded people`s expectations?
YORKE: I think it exceeded certain people`s expectations. Actually - you know what? I think actually a lot of people - most people loved it. It was beautiful. It was exquisite. It was regal.
There had been a few, you know, contenders, people who said it`s a little bit safe. It was a little bit not enough of risk taking. But you know what? She picked the dress that was perfect for her.
ANDERSON: She did.
YORKE: Her style, her personality, her figure. Did you see how that corset just whittled around her waist? It was tiny, tiny.
ANDERSON: Yes, she looked gorgeous.
YORKE: Just beautiful.
ANDERSON: And she was comfortable, you could tell. She was relaxed. She was comfortable. But taking risks - you know, that train, Lisa, was only about, what, eight feet long.
Princess Diana`s was 25 feet long and I said, hey, you know, if she could have gotten away with something, she`s marrying a prince for crying out loud, she could have had a longer train coming down that aisle.
YORKE: Well, I think it really reflects what`s going on in the country today, the way they`ve chosen to go with the style of the wedding. So I think it was totally appropriate.
But I also disagree with people about taking risks. This is a wedding day. I think she wants something classic. I think she hit it just right. And I`m so pleased that Sarah Burton got the job. I really think - I wanted Alexander McQueen, nearest thing to Parisian couture that we have.
ANDERSON: You`re right. It was really - it was perfect for the day and for the occasion. And speaking of Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, she didn`t just design the bride`s dress. She also designed the maid of honor`s dress, and that was Kate`s little sister, Pippa.
And boy, did she look beautiful, Yvonne. And I have to say, the dresses complemented one another. Is it customary for the maid of honor`s dress to be made so similarly in a way, out of some of the same fabric, to the bride`s dress? Because you never want to take away from the bride.
YORKE: Very much so. If you looked at Diana`s wedding, all of the bridesmaids from, you know, the adult bridesmaids to the little three-year- olds had worn dresses that were very similar in style.
ANDERSON: That`s true. They were mini-brides.
YORKE: They were mini-brides. No, actually, this time, what struck me were the tiny bridesmaids. Their dresses were actually made by Nicki Macfarlane, so very completely different. They were children`s dresses. But it kind of reminded me of a lot of Princess Diana`s - her bridesmaids` dresses. So perhaps it was a little bit of a tribute to the late Princess Diana.
ANDERSON: And I love the fact that these little bridesmaids - their names and the date were hand-embroidered inside their dresses as a keepsake. I thought that was wonderful.
YORKE: That was very personal.
ANDERSON: And Lisa, I have to tell you, you have an incredible fascinator on today. And I know that so many women in America - we envy the fact that you Brits can get away with such amazing cutting-edge hats, so many amazing cutting-edge hats. Who do you think wore their hats the best today and their fascinators?
VANDERPUMP: I loved Kate`s mother`s hat. I thought she looked beautiful. The soft kind of detail. I just thought that was my favorite hat. But I think Victoria Beckham - she knocked it out of the park as well. She`s always so much fun to watch, whatever she wears. I loved that.
But Tara Palmer Tomkinson - I thought was horrific. I thought she looked like a cartoon character to be honest, hated it.
ANDERSON: You know, I have to agree with you about Victoria Beckham. She designed her maternity dress, of course. And it didn`t even look maternity. She looked so great. And then she designed that hat, of course, with Philip Treacy.
Yvonne, have you ever seen such an incredible parade of hats, just one right after the other? I couldn`t get over it.
YORKE: This is something that the British do exceptionally well. If you`ve ever been to Ascot, you can see it`s almost like a contest, Brooke, of who can outdo the next lady in terms of the most outrageous, the most whimsical, the fantastical hat.
You know, I have to say something about Victoria Beckham, Brooke. If you have noticed, she has some serious platform heels. It looked like seven, eight inches.
ANDERSON: How can she do that?
YORKE: You know why I think she doesn`t smile? Because her feet were probably killing her, so she couldn`t muster up a smile.
ANDERSON: Probably tottering around.
(CROSSTALK)
YORKE: She was clinging on to her husband for dear life.
ANDERSON: But boy, did he look dashing.
YORKE: He was a perfect fashion accessory.
(CROSSTALK)
ANDERSON: Yes. They look fantastic. And you know, there were some snarky comments about some fashion misses today, Lisa, about Prince Harry`s on-again/off-again, girlfriend, Chelsy Davy. What did you think about what she wore?
VANDERPUMP: I hated it. I thought she looked frumpy. She`s a young, fabulous girl. She should have something that`s kind of much more form- fitting.
I loved the off-the-shoulder. I think that`s very fashionable. But the whole bust line, everything, and the material was creased. No, I didn`t like it at all. I thought the hat looked flat. I thought it was a real miss. Very disappointing. Not - no.
ANDERSON: Yes. The cut, the shape were not flattering.
VANDERPUMP: Yes, not good.
ANDERSON: I completely agree with you. And we know your friend, Sarah Ferguson, was not invited. But her daughters, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, were invited. And boy, did they have interesting head gear on, those structural looking fascinators.
And I have to tell you, London`s "Daily Mail" actually called their look a fashion faux pas. Lisa, did they register for you as a fashion miss?
VANDERPUMP: Well, I thought Beatrice`s outfit was absolutely beautiful. The hat wasn`t so crazy. But I thought her outfit - she really looked incredible.
Eugenie, not so much. Again, I felt it was frumpy. I think, you know, it seemed for an older woman. And it didn`t look like - because they were together. I think they should have dressed in tandem. It didn`t look like they fitted together at all.
ANDERSON: They seemed to be having a good time. I saw them waving in the car. They were taking off to the Westminster Abbey and they were beaming, so that`s what counts.
And I want to mention singer Joss Stone as well. She had on a red dress and wide-brimmed hat. Yvonne, did you like it? Thumbs up or down?
YORKE: Oh, I thought it looked a little too matronly for her. I think she`s a young girl.
ANDERSON: (UNINTELLIGIBLE). She`s a young girl. A lot of young girls did dress older, I think.
YORKE: And I think Chelsy Davy also dressed a little frumpier than what you really would expect her to be dressed as. So -
ANDERSON: Maybe next time. Maybe Prince Harry`s wedding.
YORKE: She won`t be the bride in that one.
(CROSSTALK)
ANDERSON: All right. Lisa Vanderpump, Yvonne Yorke, thank you both. And be sure to check out Yvonne`s wedding special. It`s "Will and Kate Forever," premiering tonight on Wedding Central and We TV. Thank you.
And A.J., I have to tell you, one of my favorite moments of the day and we talked about this earlier with Imogen, was when Prince William`s goddaughter was on the balcony during that infamous kiss and the three- year-old just covered her ears as airplanes buzzed over in tribute. It was hysterical. She was so expressive.
HAMMER: That was very cute. But Brooke, I would like to give a little respect to Prince William saying I want to get some help from the guys here. Nobody`s talking about his fashion today, right, guys?
I mean, he looked sophisticated and regal. All around snazzy today. So we just wanted to give that shout out to the prince.
And we move on now to the legacy to Princess Diana. She was certainly there in spirit and we wish her firstborn well on his big day.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT reveals the dramatic way Prince William`s late mom was felt throughout the wedding today. Plus, absolutely remarkable similarities and differences between Catherine`s wedding and Princess Diana`s. You don`t want to miss this, coming up next.
You`re watching a special edition of SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, a SHOWBIZ royal event, on HLN news and views.
ANDERSON: And now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT brings you the most memorable royal wedding moments.

ARCHBISHOP WILLIAMS: Those whom God has joined together, let no man put asunder. For as much as William and Catherine have consented together in holy wedlock and have witnessed the same before God and this company and thereto have given their troth either to other and have declared the same by giving and receiving of a ring and by joining of hands, I pronounce that they be man and wife to the in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.

ANDERSON: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT brings you the most memorable royal wedding moments. They are just beaming and probably breathing a big sigh of relief. They went in today as Prince William and Kate Middleton and we see them here leaving Westminster Abbey as husband and wife and now officially the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in London. And nearly three decades ago, William`s parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, left their wedding in the exact same open carriage that William and Kate took today.
It`s incredible and I could tell you that it almost felt like Diana was here today. Prince William said he didn`t want his late mom to miss out on this amazing wedding day. And I can tell you her influence was everywhere, from Diana`s engagement ring, which Kate wore, to a beautiful hymn sung at the wedding in Diana`s memory.
With me right here in London is We TV`s Yvonne Yorke. She`s also a contributor for "The Huffington Post." And we`re going to talk about the similarities and differences to Princess Diana.
And I have to say that moment that everyone was highly anticipating, eagerly anticipating, was that kiss, Yvonne, on the same balcony, where Prince Charles and Princess Diana had their unforgettable kiss. So think about them, look at them, how did they all stack up?
YORKE: It`s very interesting. What I noticed about Charles and Diana is it was almost a little hesitant, you know. It was a beautiful shot, obviously. It beamed around the world.
This couple, though, definitely had much more of a playful feel to it. And if you notice very carefully, they were both smiling while they were kissing, which is very sweet. I think William even blushed a little bit.
ANDERSON: I think he did, too. And they were prepared. They knew they were going to kiss. It wasn`t so spontaneous. They probably had rehearsed it. They know they were going to do it, and it was really cute.
YORKE: Absolutely. There was a rehearsal but they said they don`t actually have to practice kissing because they know how to do that.
ANDERSON: I`m sure they do after eight years together. Are you kidding me?
YORKE: Absolutely.
ANDERSON: And A.J., you know, everybody I`ve been talking to has really been bringing up similarities and differences to Princess Diana today.
HAMMER: Yes. Brooke, I have to say you couldn`t ignore the comparisons. With me here in New York, it`s Lisa Vanderpump, who is the star of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and, of course, HLN`s royal wedding contributor.
So both Diana and Kate rode the same carriages you`re seeing to their wedding. It`s 30 years apart. But look at how much more comfortable Kate seems than Diana. Lisa, it`s pretty clear to me that Will and Kate`s relationship is just much more open and affectionate than his parents.
VANDERPUMP: Oh, it`s hugely different. But also, they`ve been together for eight years so she`s been integrated slowly. With Charles and Diana, it was almost like an arranged marriage, really, and she was 19.
So I think we see a huge difference. And I think these two are going to go together. They`re going to go forward in unison. You know, I really think they`re a couple, whereas we never really felt that with Charles and Diana. He was, you know, her teacher.
HAMMER: You didn`t feel that at all.
VANDERPUMP: Yes.
HAMMER: And you totally get with Will and Kate -
VANDERPUMP: Absolutely.
HAMMER: That they are so bonded so much beyond what Charles and Diana were at that time. Also plenty of comparisons being made today between Kate`s wedding dress and Diana`s. You`re not going to be able to avoid that.
Now, Kate thrilled the world when she made her big entrance at Westminster Abbey today, just like Diana did when she made her stunning wedding entrance. It seemed to me that Kate came in to this wedding with a lot more confidence than Diana did at hers. Did it strike that you way?
YORKE: Yes. It certainly struck me as that way. Even Diana said when she walked up that aisle, you know, at St. Paul`s Cathedral, she felt a little bit like a lamb led to slaughter, which is quite unfortunate.
You know, with Catherine, you didn`t get that at all. She walked in beaming, just so happy, very confident, no hesitation, no doubts whatsoever.
ANDERSON: Cool, calm, collected.
YORKE: Absolutely.
ANDERSON: Kate and William both appeared to be that way the entire day. And Lisa, people are already speculating whether Kate can live up to Diana`s legacy. But does she even need to?
VANDERPUMP: Oh, Brooke, I really wish they would take that pressure off her. You know, she`s her own person. We`ve got to respect that.
ANDERSON: Yes.
VANDERPUMP: You know, Diana actually didn`t kind of really come into her own until after a few years of marriage. I think we`ve got to take the pressure off Kate, let her go back to the farm house in Wales and start making babies.
ANDERSON: Give them some time as a couple first. But yes, eventually, they do want to have a family. I agree with Lisa that people should take the pressure of Kate going forward with these Princess Diana comparisons because she can carve out her own identity.
VANDERPUMP: Absolutely.
ANDERSON: She`s an independent person. She`s a strong woman.
YORKE: And I think, actually, in a way, she`s actually already has carved out her own identity, and in certain respects, is following Diana`s footsteps in a sense. Look at the way she`s been with the crowds.
You know, on all her public engagements, the warmth, the human touch, the commonality. People really, really connect with her. That`s something that`s a legacy from Diana in which Catherine is doing on her own and doing in her own way.
ANDERSON: She had a good teacher in that respect, because, Lisa, when you see Prince William with the crowd, how much does he remind you of his mother? I mean, the connection that he has with each and every person he speaks to, he makes the eye contact. He really talks to people and seems to really care.
VANDERPUMP: Yes. Absolutely. Now, we grew up with a royal family that was pretty austere until Princess Diana came along. So she really changed the whole feeling of the royal family.
I mean, if you think of the princess royal, they`re much more reserved. You know, Diana was always like on her knees talking to little children and holding patients` hands.
And that really changed the whole feeling of the royal family. And I think Kate`s going to absolutely take that through.
ANDERSON: Made everybody much more approachable and accessible, it seems. All right. Lisa Vanderpump, Yvonne York, thank you both, ladies. A.J.
HAMMER: Well, Brooke, here it is almost Saturday sunrise in England. Hard to believe it`s all over now. We`re taking one last look back at the very best royal wedding moments.
Plus, we`ve got to get Brooke`s final thoughts on an unforgettable week. You`re watching a special edition on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, a SHOWBIZ royal event, on HLN news and views.
ANDERSON: And now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT brings you the most memorable royal wedding moments.
(CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
ANDERSON: Here`s a look at Duchess Kate or Catherine, in her stunning evening gown as she heads to Buckingham Palace for a wedding reception. Like her wedding dress, it was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. It`s a strapless white satin gown with an angora cardigan.
And A.J., more than a million people lined up here at Buckingham Palace and along the mall all the way to Westminster Abbey to catch a glimpse today of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
And other than the reveal of her wedding dress, there was really one other moment that people were really eagerly anticipating.
HAMMER: Yes. They were waking up just to see that here on the stage, too, Brooke. Of course, that was the kiss and the crowd and everybody at home got to see it, too.
ANDERSON: Yes. And you know, it was one of my favorite moments of the day. But a lot of the people we spoke to - there were some mixed reviews, I`ll say that. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It was - honestly, the entire atmosphere and everything else was awesome. It was absolutely unreal.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: On the second kiss. I mean, the first kiss left everyone wanting a little bit more. The second kiss kind of - everyone thought, "OK, that was lovely. That was more romantic." We needed that second kiss.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I think it was really romantic and everything, them kissing.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I thought it was going to a little bit better after the first one. But then, it was good. It was worth waiting for.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I think it was really sweet.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: They should have done it more times because it was a bit boring.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Great to see William and Kate finally sealing it with a kiss.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It was nice to see them kissing. What can I say?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: The third one was better.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE CHILD: I think it was better the second time?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, I liked the first time.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I liked the first one, but not the second one.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, it was very romantic. They`re a really good couple.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
ANDERSON: They are a really good couple. And A.J., it`s been a really exciting week here in London. I`m kind of said to see it all come to an end.
HAMMER: Yes. I must imagine you`re quite knackered, as they say. And I said it before and I`ll say it again, you just look spectacular.
Of course, it`s a new day in London. On Saturday morning, maybe you get to take the hat off. But before we say good night, Brooke, what were your favorite moments of the day?
ANDERSON: Oh, it is hard to just narrow them down. It was all such a special, memorable, beautiful day. I loved Kate`s wedding dress reveal when she arrived at Westminster Abbey.
I adored the moment Prince Harry had to sneak a peek and see what Kate was wearing and what she looked like prior to Prince William seeing her. And then, when Prince William saw her face to face, he told her, "You look beautiful."
And then, of course, their kiss on the balcony. And then, when they went to Clarence House later, they were in his dad`s convertible, Aston Martin. It was all just such a celebratory day and I wish them well.
But we`ve got to go now. That is it for this SHOWBIZ TONIGHT special royal event. Thanks for watching. I`m Brooke Anderson in London.
HAMMER: I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT now seen exclusively Monday through Friday at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.
