A.J. HAMMER, HOST: Tonight, the Casey Anthony murder trial, a story possibly more wild than anything we`ve seen on "The Jerry Springer Show." So what does Jerry Springer think? He`s right here for a SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview. I`m A.J. Hammer. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
Big news breaking on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT - Reese`s reality rant. Why Reese Witherspoon went on the warpath over reality shows. Was her target Kim Kardashian? Paris Hilton?
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
REESE WITHERSPOON, ACTRESS: I get it. All right. It`s cool to be bad, but it`s also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Is Reese right? What does reality show star Kate Gosselin think about Reese`s reality rant? I`ll ask her, because Kate Gosselin is right here tonight for a headline-making SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview. And will she ever get back together with former hubby, Jon?
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Hollywood love check. Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn`s shocking new appearance together. Revelations tonight about Jennifer Aniston`s new guy. And big news that Kim Kardashian is working on a pre- nup.
TV`s most provocative entertainment news show breaks news right now.
(MUSIC)
Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City. And as the Casey Anthony murder trial got even more bizarre today, I was thinking this is possibly a story that`s even more outrageous than anything that we`ve ever seen on "The Jerry Springer Show."
So what does Jerry have to say? Well, Jerry is right here and he`s going to join me in a few minutes to sound off about that, and also about this - Reese`s reality rage.
Tonight the burning question, just who was Reese Witherspoon targeting in her remarkable attack on women in reality shows? And in some cases, their sex tape.
Oh, I don`t know. Could it be Kim Kardashian? Could it be Paris Hilton? SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that Reese`s rant about reality stars and sex tapes at the MTV Movie Awards made big news today.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over) It`s the wrath of Reese. Reese Witherspoon may be Hollywood`s good girl, but she`s totally over all those bad girls.
WITHERSPOON: Oh, my god!
HAMMER: Reese Witherspoon was honored at the MTV movie awards with their generation award. And she wasted no time taking a few potshots at some starlets in the younger generation.
WITHERSPOON: I just want to say to all the girls out there, like, I know it`s cool to be bad. I get it. All right. It`s cool to be bad, but it`s also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show. And -
ROB SHUTER, COLUMNIST, "POPEATER.COM": This is totally by surprise. Nobody expected this from Reese.
HAMMER: In Reese`s charming style, she laid out her criticism with a wink and a smile. In her crosshairs, anyone who has ever made a sex tape. Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, watch out.
WITHERSPOON: When I came up in this business, you made a sex tape. You were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed.
SHUTER: This felt like it had been bubbling up in Reese for a long time. I know a lot of actresses in Hollywood who also feel the same.
HAMMER: But did Reese stop there? Oh, no. Also in her crosshairs, any star who has ever taken a naked photo of themselves.
WITHERSPOON: If you take naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hide your face, people. Hide your face.
HAMMER: I`m thinking that`s a lot of face-hiding in Hollywood.
SHUTER: I think that Reese is pretty angry about what she sees out there.
HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT wants to know, is Reese speaking the truth or alienating an entire generation of reality TV starlets? "PopEater.com" columnist, Rob Shuter says reality stars might be mad if they weren`t so focused on, well, themselves.
SHUTER: I don`t think the reality stars care less about this. I also think the few reality stars that I have met are so self-absorbed that they will think she`s talking about somebody else.
HAMMER: And who knows, she could have single-handedly launched an anti- reality campaign. It wasn`t just reality stars that got a verbal one-two punch.
She also dished a zinger to "Water for Elephants" co-star, Robert Pattinson. He joked that he`s worked with Reese in two films. Once, she played his mother; the second time, his lover. Reese joked right back.
WITHERSPOON: By the way, Rob, the punch line to your joke was I played your mother and then we had a sex scene. So really you`re the best mother (EXPLETIVE DELETED) in Hollywood.
SHUTER: This is what`s so great about Reese and why she`s the perfect person to give this message to the audience. She`s naughty.
HAMMER: She`s naughty with a whole lot of nice. And Reese`s main message of the evening was just that - it`s cool to be nice.
WITHERSPOON: So for all the girls out there, it`s possible to be a good girl. I`m going to try and make it cool.
HAMMER: And maybe, just maybe Reese has launched a brand-new campaign for nice girls in Hollywood.
SHUTER: I think Reese has opened the floodgates. Reese has now made it cool to say you do not like reality TV.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: I agree. I think it`s going to be very interesting to see if others are going to join in in Reese`s crusade. Did Reese just alienate a generation of stars by bashing reality TV, though?
Joining me tonight from Hollywood, the great Jerry Springer. Jerry, of course, is the host of the fantastic show, "Baggage." The third season debuted tonight on the Game Show Network.
Jerry, I`ve got to say I didn`t expect Reese to say what she said at the MTV movie awards. Let`s take another look at her reality rage.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WITHERSPOON: I just want to say actual the girls out there, like, I know it`s cool to be bad. I get it. All right. It`s cool to be bad. But it`s also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show. And -
(CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)
You know, when I came up in this business, you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: I think that`s perfect. Sounds to me like Reese is taking some pretty clear shots at Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton.
And I think what she said is great because I`m sure there a lot of young girls out there looking at this meteoric rise to fame of today`s reality stars thinking, you know, being bad is the best recipe for success in Hollywood.
But Jerry, do you think Reese maybe just alienated a whole generation of stars or even fans by bashing reality TV?
JERRY SPRINGER, HOST, "BAGGAGE" ON THE GAME SHOW NETWORK: No, I don`t think she alienated anybody because, first of all, she`s so cool. And basically, she saying what any parent would say to their young teenage daughter or to their kids.
You know, have common sense. You know, don`t do things that at some point in your life you`re going to regret. So I don`t know that there`s anything she said that someone should feel bad about. She spoke the truth.
HAMMER: Yes. And talent rules and I think that was the point. I hope that came across to a lot of these young girls. And last night at the MTV movie awards, Reese also had words of wisdom to those stars who find themselves, well, shall we say in the middle of say a nude photo scandal. Watch that.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WITHERSPOON: If you take naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hide your face, people. Hide your face. It`s totally possible - for all the girls out there, it`s possible to be a good girl. I`m going to try and make it cool.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Yes. And the star reaction was swift, Jerry. Let me read a couple of comments. Julianne Hough went on Twitter and tweeted, "Love Reese Witherspoon. Good girls do exist and can make it in Hollywood. Thanks for being a great idol and one of mine."
Now, Lindsay Lohan - I`m thinking, she must have been passing time on her house arrest watching Reese`s speech last night. She went on Twitter and gushed, "I love Reese Witherspoon so much."
I agree. Great role model for people like Lindsay and a lot of other stars. Jerry, is Reese giving Hollywood a long overdue reality check?
SPRINGER: Yes, I think so, but I think most people know that. I mean, I think people look at these reality shows and they understand what it is. No one takes it that seriously.
I mean, sure, young people - you know, they always get excited about people they like or stars or things like that. But I don`t think anyone in the business really thinks that this is the highest art form there is.
I mean, no one looks at my show and says, "Wow, that`s art." It is what it is. But clearly, the most talented people - they`re the ones that will be successful.
HAMMER: But the difference between you and your show and these reality stars and their shows is you`re honest about it, Jerry.
Let me ask you about another story that`s dominating the headlines right now. Of course, everybody is glued to the Casey Anthony trial. Anthony, of course, on trial for the murder of her two-year-old daughter.
It is a horrifying story, but people cannot tune it out. There are so many twists and turns and all the courtroom drama. Jerry, you`ve been hosting "The Jerry Springer Show" for some 20 years now. You certainly have seen some of the most sensational stories out there, so you get this.
What do you make of the obsession over the Casey Anthony trial? Do you understand why people are so fascinated here?
SPRINGER: Yes, I do. First of all, we`re social beings so we love to observe human behavior and that`s been true throughout the ages. Technology now makes it easier to watch more of the details of it.
But I think another thing to think about when we watch this - the reason this story has such magnetism is because, in a sense, we`re all experts in families because we all have them.
So in other words, if we did a story about the debt ceiling, you know, 99 percent of the public isn`t going to know exactly what the debt ceiling is, how we get it, what the legislation is.
HAMMER: Right.
SPRINGER: We tune out. But when you talk about anything having to do with a family, everyone has family. Everyone`s either been a parent or has obviously been a child.
We know how much we love our children. We know about people in the family that are dysfunctional. So therefore, it`s very easy to watch. It`s very easy to talk about. It`s very easy to have an opinion about it because it is the one thing every human being is an expert on.
HAMMER: Well, I really appreciate your perspective. That makes perfect sense to me. Jerry Springer, great to see you.
Don`t forget, tune in weeknights to the Game Show Network to catch the third season of Jerry`s cool show. It`s a dating show called "Baggage." And I want to remind you, keep watching HLN daily for continuing coverage of the latest developments in the Casey Anthony trial.
Coming up tonight, it is a not-to-be-missed headline-making SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsmaker interview with reality show star, Kate Gosselin. I`m asking Kate what she thinks of Reese Witherspoon`s reality rage.
Plus, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT breaks news, will Kate ever get back together with Jon?
Also, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Hollywood love check. Scarlett Johansson, Sean Penn. There`s this new photo of them and has everybody asking tonight, are they back together?
And stunning revelations tonight about Jen Aniston`s new guy. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN`s news and views. It is time for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - here come more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.
TEXT: Nicole Scherzinger to replace Cheryl Cole as a judge on "The X- Factor." SHOWBIZ first look: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2."
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Harry, no!
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Harry Potter, the boy who lived, come to die.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LYNDA CARTER, ACTRESS: You must now tell the truth. You are working with the Falcon and he`s working for the Nazis.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: No one can stop TV`s original "Wonder Woman" played, of course, by Lynda Carter. Those unbreakable bracelets. That magic tiara.
But breaking news, "Wonder Woman" is not coming back to TV. I`ve got my own lasso of truth ready for Lynda Carder who is here tonight for a SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.
Can you tell I`m a little excited? Tonight, the original Wonder Woman right here. Just as SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that NBC has just cancelled plans to launch its much-hyped new "Wonder Woman" TV series, that they had already begun shooting the show.
Lynda Carter joining me from Hollywood tonight for a SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview. Great to see you, Lynda. You know, I grew up watching you as the Wonder Woman. As I told you last time you were here, I`m a huge fan
CARTER: Hi, A.J. How are you?
HAMMER: I`m great. I thought it would have been terrific to have had a new generation exposed to a new version such an iconic show. So I`ve got to ask you, are you disappointed that this new version of "Wonder Woman" is not going to happen?
CARTER: I am disappointed. I had quite a few conversations or a few conversations with David E. Kelly, who is a genius. He`s such a great, great producer and writes - he really writes for the characters.
And so, I thought, if anyone had a shot, it would be him. I don`t know why it didn`t go forward, but I was all for it. I want the story to be told again. You know, eventually, my daughter will have a daughter and, you know, we need a new infusion of "Wonder Women."
HAMMER: Yes, no question about it. And you`re right, David E. Kelly was a brilliant choice to have taken that on. I do want to (INAUDIBLE) something else, Lynda, though.
There`s also some big news breaking about something that you have expressed your outrage over before. You never got a penny for the use of your image as "Wonder Woman." You don`t even make anything from the show`s reruns.
And quite frankly, that ticks me off, so I can`t imagine how that makes you feel. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT just broke the news that much of the cast of "Happy Days" has just filed a class action lawsuit claiming that they`re in the same situation. I want you to watch what they told us.
CARTER: Right.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: When we started the show, we were just actors. You know, we weren`t business people. And we assumed, oh, they send you the checks and that`s it. Didn`t think about it.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Are you fighting for more than money?
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: I think fairness and principle.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: When you think of all the different shows that must be having the same argument about this.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Yes. And "Wonder Woman" was one of those shows. Have you given up fighting for the money you say you`re due? Or could you be filing your own lawsuit if at any time over this?
CARTER: Well, I have never fought over it. I actually think I would be more information-gathering for myself than I would be going after anyone.
I`m not a particularly a litigious person. So I think they`re just trying to get some accounting - some straightforward accounting. And I think they would be forth coming with that.
They certainly wouldn`t be inclined to break the law or anything. So creative accounting aside, if you have a contract, that contract should be fulfilled.
And I understand in particular people who have, you know, created characters and created something and that they haven`t been given their just due, particularly later in life as we all know you get a hit show. You don`t necessarily have several hit shows. So I think they probably need the money as well.
HAMMER: Yes. And it`s something -
CARTER: And I`m anxious to kind of see what happens.
HAMMER: Yes. And it`s something you don`t seem bitter over. It certainly hasn`t kept you from going on in your life.
CARTER: Oh, no. It doesn`t have anything to do with "Wonder Woman," really. It really has to do with how the studios run themselves. This is an old story that`s been going on a long, long time.
HAMMER: Yes.
CARTER: And it`s sort of - I think that a lot of lawyers and accountants are - they do business in this town. And they don`t want to be blackballed by going after it. I think it`s a courageous thing.
I support them in what they`re doing. I think I would approach it from a different - I would approach it a little differently, but it`s all right.
HAMMER: All right.
CARTER: I get.
HAMMER: I do want to move on because there`s a side of you that there are a lot of people that may not know about it. Stay right where you are. We`re going to fill them in next because I think it`s a fantastic side of you.
And as we move on, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Hollywood love checks coming your way. Cameron Diaz` new love revelations about her ex, Justin Timberlake.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
CAMERON DIAZ, ACTRESS: Justin and I love each other. We care about each other. There`s no reason for to us be angry or have resentment.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn - a brand-new photo of them. Are they back together?
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are reportedly working on a pre-nup. Would Kim just be crazy not to have one? I think so.
Kate Gosselin here in a SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview. Will Kate ever get back together with Jon? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.
TEXT: Katie Couric signs deal with ABC. She`ll launch a daytime show in 2012. "Harry Potter" star, Tom Felton, talks about "Twilight" versus "Potter."
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
TOM FELTON, ACTOR: It`s almost like the media when they get the east coast-west coast together, "Twilight" - "Potter." And obviously, we`re all friends with Rob. And I don`t think there`s any beef tonight between the franchises.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Is Britney Spears engaged to her boyfriend, Jason Trawick? Well, there have been a bunch of reports flying around after Brit was spotted out and about with a ring on her finger.
So of course, we had to send out the SHOWBIZ truth squad to check this out. And Britney`s rep tells the truth squad, no. No engagement.
And now, the surprising side of Lynda Carter that many people may not know about. Yes, everybody has loved her and her superpowers, of course, as Wonder Woman throughout the years.
But did you know she also has amazing singing powers? In fact, she has just released her third album. It`s incredible. It`s called "Crazy Little Thing" and she`s getting mobbed by fans as she tours the country singing.
Lynda Carter, right back from Hollywood now in the SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview.
And Lynda, you were singer before you even started acting. We`re looking at some terrific photos of you performing throughout the years from your Web site. You`re still going strong with the release of this brand-new album.
CARTER: Right.
HAMMER: But still, you know, you understand as you say the name Lynda Carter, people instantly think Wonder Woman.
CARTER: Wonder Woman. Of course.
HAMMER: Are there any times that you`re tired of the association? I get the impression you embrace it all the time, but I don`t know.
CARTER: No, I do embrace it. I really - you know, I didn`t have a choice. It`s either that or be miserable. If you`re trying to deny it all the time, that doesn`t do me any good.
But the truth is it`s about connecting and people connect with me through "Wonder Woman." And maybe they - maybe they connect again with me through my music. And that`s what I`m hoping for.
I really want people to test it out and, you know, to go on iTunes. And if they like it, buy it. And if they don`t like the album, well, that`s OK, too. It`s all my fault.
Everything I did on this album comes from - there`s a reason I did every single song. And I had a blast doing it and I think it`s pretty groovy.
HAMMER: It is pretty groovy. I definitely think so. I thought your last album was pretty groovy, too.
CARTER: Thank you.
HAMMER: I`ve got to ask you this question very quickly, though. You have many passions in life. If you could only be known as a TV star or as a singer, which are you choosing?
CARTER: Oh, god. No one has ever asked me that question. I`ve been asked a lot of questions, but to choose between the two?
HAMMER: I need an answer.
CARTER: OK. How about a singing TV star?
HAMMER: Perfect, singing TV star. We`ll accept that for 20. Lynda Carter, thank you so much. Lynda`s new CD, "Crazy Little Thing" is in stores right now.
Lynda, you`re also the voice of the Viking Goddess on the hot new videogame, "Skyrim." Congratulations on that as well.
CARTER: "Skyrim." Yes, thank you so much. Thank you.
HAMMER: All right. Great seeing you. Moving on now to the SHOWBIZ lineup - here`s what`s coming up at the bottom of the hour on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
Kate Gosselin right here on a SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview. What does she really think about Reese Witherspoon`s reality show rant? And will she and Jon ever get back together?
SHOWBIZ breaks news tonight - Lady Gaga heading to Broadway? And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Hollywood love check. New revelations tonight about Jennifer Aniston`s new guy.
Cammie D. and Justin Timberlake working together years after their breakup. Cam says their love helped them on set. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.
TEXT: "X-Men: First Class" wins weekend box office race, makes $56.4 million in U.S. Country star Trace Adkins loses home to a fire.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.
(MUSIC)
HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City. We`ve got big news breaking today - Kate`s reality check.
Well, Kate Gosselin just premiered the new season of "Kate Plus 8" on TLC tonight. And nearly two years after her big divorce from Jon Gosselin, the mother of eight is trying something new - dating.
But the big question tonight, is her ex-husband, Jon, completely out of the picture? And how have things changed for Kate.
Kate Gosselin with me tonight for a SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsmaker interview. Good to you have here. Congratulations on the new season.
KATE GOSSELIN, REALITY TV STAR, "KATE PLUS 8": Thank you.
HAMMER: Made its premiere tonight on TLC and we got to see you go on a big ladies weekend to New York City. You were hitting some night clubs. So you`ve got to tell me, are you out there actually dating? Is there someone in your life right now?
GOSSELIN: No. The same. Same as it`s been. Same as it`s been. Yes.
HAMMER: OK. But are you open to love? Are you open to the idea of finding that? I mean, obviously, you know, it`s been a rough transition, as - you know, anybody who goes through any kind of a split up, it takes time to heal.
So are you in that healed place where you`re kind of opened up to it now?
GOSSELIN: Yes. I mean, definitely, the kids are open to it. I`m open to it. I`m going to be very picky and choosy. So we`ll see.
HAMMER: You should for you and the kids` sake, obviously. And I`ve heard before where you said the kids have asked you when you`re going to get married again.
GOSSELIN: Yes.
HAMMER: So what`s the deal? You know, a lot of people after the first one doesn`t work out, they say, "You know what? Maybe I`ll find love but maybe stay away from marriage." What are your thoughts on that? Do you see marriage in your future or at least as a possibility?
GOSSELIN: I`ve learned to never say never, but I don`t really focus on it right now. It kind of sounds scary. So, I mean, I`m not even dating, so let`s just start there.
HAMMER: OK. Good enough. And I`m sure people ask you all the time - look, I`m sure you have a lot of, you know, fans from the original "Jon and Kate Plus 8," and people who have followed your life and your work and the kids who want to know if there`s a possibility that you and Jon will ever get back together. Is that something you even see as possible, or not so much?
HAMMER: Even hearing you saying it in the promos freaked me out. So the answer is zero percent, you know, zero percent, zero percent.
HAMMER: Zero point zero?
GOSSELIN: Not happening ever.
HAMMER: OK. Among all of the things, look, we saw it all play out both partially on the TV show and in all the media coverage.
I mean, what among all of that makes it so difficult or freaks you out that I even said it? And I didn`t mean to freak you out.
GOSSELIN: The fact that we`re two completely different people with two completely different values. And I don`t support his goals or his choices. So it`s easy for me. I mean, getting divorced was probably one of the best things I`ve ever done.
HAMMER: And do you get the impression from any level of contact that you have with Jon that he feels the same way or if the opportunity ever - you know, is he sort of in the same place, you guys have just gone on your own road at this point?
GOSSELIN: I don`t worry about it. I mean, I know that it was the best choice for me and that`s where I stop.
HAMMER: OK. That`s fair enough. You obviously had great - and continue to have great success in the reality TV world. It certainly was bumpy at times and we`re along for the ride. But look, that`s also part of reality TV.
I`ve got to tell you, Reese Witherspoon is making some big news tonight after she attacked some reality stars. You`ve got watch what he said last night at the MTV Movie Awards.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WITHERSPOON: I just want to say to all the girls out there, like, I know it`s cool to be bad. I get it. All right. It`s cool to be bad. But it`s also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show. And -
(CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)
When I came up in this business, you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed. And like if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hide your face, people. Hide your face.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: OK. Look, sex tapes and naked photos - obviously something you never dealt with and she wasn`t speaking of the kind of reality show or reality star that you have been or the show that you`ve done.
But you do know the reality world. What do you make of her comments about the fact that, you know, there are so many young people who think that, you know, just by being bad or by putting out these sex tapes and getting reality show, they can have big success. Different route than you took but, you know, that`s -
GOSSELIN: I don`t feel like it affects me because this is what I do to support my kids and give them opportunities in life, so I don`t take offense to that. I don`t feel like it applies to me.
HAMMER: OK. Do you see her point, though, as far as - you know, look, as your kids are growing up and they`re going to be looking to role models and now you have - there are certainly some reality star role models out there who, a lot of people would say, not exactly the people you want to emulate, you know, in terms of the kind of life you would pursue, being a star just for the sake of being a star, which, again, not what you did.
GOSSELIN: I mean, there`s good TV and there`s bad TV. I don`t look at it as reality versus not. I just am a mom trying to teach my kids the right things. And so I don`t - you know, I don`t feel like it`s different - scripted versus reality.
HAMMER: One thing that you have had to endure being a part of reality TV is having your breakup with Jon play out in public both on the show and, as we`ve talked about, in the tabloids and other media coverage.
Right now, we are watching something like that play out, not in the reality world. But Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are going through a really tough time.
And everybody`s thinking of Maria right now and the level of scrutiny that she has to endure. Having been through that, you know, being right there in the spotlight while it`s going on, what would you suggest to Maria so that she can come out and come through it at the other end?
And you know, it seems like - here you are. You`re moving forward. What can she do, you know, from what you`ve experienced, do you think?
GOSSELIN: I have met Maria and I have always admired her. She`s a very strong woman who is a mom first, who looks out for her kids.
And so, to her, I would say, just keep - I`m sorry and just keep doing what you`re doing. And I think that she will do really well because she is strong and, you know, full of grace. And I just can`t say enough about her. I think she`s awesome.
HAMMER: Strong, strong woman.
GOSSELIN: Yes.
HAMMER: And I have to tell you, as soon as we posted on our Facebook page today that you were coming in, comments, questions - everybody wants to ask you something.
Let me get to one in particular right now. This is Sue M.W.(ph) - I`m sorry. We`re going to read Jennifer P. here, "Why does she think it`s better to have her children known so well and keep them in the media instead of having them having a normal life?"
Now, this is something that you`ve had time to deal with and answer for a long time. And now, you`ve had time to reflect on it. What do you say to that now that you`ve been at it for so many years?
GOSSELIN: Well, again, it comes back to the opportunities and quality of life that my kids get to enjoy. With a family of eight kids - I mean, we`ve traveled the world and seen and done so many things.
And I wouldn`t change it and neither do they. It just comes down to our choices. And everybody parents differently.
Well, fair enough. And on Twitter, Ms. Catie asks, "How will Kate help the kids adjust after `Kate Plus 8` is gone? No crew. No traveling."
So Kate, would you hang out with us so we can get your answer on that. And much more coming up in our SHOWBIZ final word in just a moment.
But right now, we have to move on to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Hollywood love check. Scar Jo and Sean Penn - I`m getting whip-lashed with these two. First, it was their unlikely hookup, which I kind of like. But then, they broke up. Why does this new photo prove that they`re back on?
And Jen Aniston`s Hollywood love check. Explosive revelations tonight about Jen`s new guy.

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Tonight, Hollywood`s love check.
Jennifer Aniston may have a new love in her life. And she`s not the only star whose love life is making big headlines today.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is fact-checking the buzz on the stars that are heating up things, hooking up and breaking up these days.
With me to sort through all the celebrity romances, a lady who knows what it`s like to date in the public eye and she has lived to sing about it. Singing star, Debbie Gibson, who is kicking off a summer concert tour with fellow songstress and `80s icon, Tiffany.
We love that you`re doing that. First of all, we have to talk about a new couple alert. It`s Jennifer Aniston. And she`s been dating this guy screenwriter, Justin Thoreau.
These two have only been dating for a few weeks. According to "People" magazine, though, Justin`s already been introduced to Jen`s close pals, Chelsea Handler and, of course, her best friend, Courteney Cox.
Deb, we would all like to see Jen have love and be happily ever after. I`ve always been rooting for her. Do you think this could be the one? Or is it just too soon to tell?
DEBBIE GIBSON, SINGER: You know, I think it`s too soon to tell. And it`s so funny that we put so much emphasis on it being the one.
So many women these days like Jen - I feel like she`s come out publicly to say, you know, maybe you`re with someone forever and maybe you`re not. Maybe it`s just a chapter in your life.
So I will say, what, there`s more to life than work. So it would be great to know that she`s got someone to go hang out with.
HAMMER: Yes. And I think it`s a pretty big deal and very telling that she actually is allowing herself to be seen publicly with this guy, because, you know, her love life is probably scrutinized more than any star on the planet, right?
Want to move on to Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn. Now, last week, there were reports that the two had parted ways. But we just got this photo today of them.
And quite frankly, they`re looking pretty cozy and very much a couple in this thing over the weekend. This was taken at the Guy`s Choice Awards in Los Angeles. Scarlett is 26; Sean is 50. What do you think? Are these two an odd pairing or perfect match?
GIBSON: You know, I think she`s an old soul. As an artist, she`s incredibly evolved. I think it kind of makes sense. And you know what? I just think people judge too much and if people are happy, so be it. I mean -
HAMMER: Right. We looking from afar to see what we see in the public. And we see this young beautiful woman and this sort of, at times, curmudgeonly older dude. But they`re both brilliantly talented and obviously very smart people.
GIBSON: Then there`s talent turn on. I mean, you know, talent is sexy.
HAMMER: You know about that, right? Admit it. You`re drawn to talented people.
GIBSON: Absolutely.
(CROSS TALK)
I mean, I have a hot man who very, very talented in - I would not say in many, many ways. I didn`t mean it like that.
HAMMER: OK. Debbie Gibson, everybody.
GIBSON: Yes. Thank you. Thank you.
HAMMER: We won`t kick you out for that. There`s a one-time Hollywood golden couple that`s reuniting on screen - Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz.
They`re starting in the upcoming film, "Bad Teacher". Now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT just sat down with Cameron over the weekend. And we asked her for her secret on successfully working with an ex. Watch what she said.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: The secret is that, you know, we`re adults and we`ve moved on. You know what I mean? Justin and I love each other. We care about each other. There`s no reason for us to be angry or have resentment.
There`s no reason for it. Life goes on and both of our lives have gone on. And we`ve both had a lot of love in our life since.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Yes. That`s impressively mature, if you ask me.
GIBSON: It is.
HAMMER: Very evolved, Cameron Diaz.
GIBSON: It makes sense to me because, you know, if they were on set and they had a flirtation and they`d not yet dated, that would be more dangerous to me than - look, they`ve played it out. They`ve realized they`re not meant to be together.
Like she said, they`ve come full circle. They support each other. And probably, they know so much about each other that they had a ball and the chemistry comes through. I can`t wait to see that movie.
HAMMER: Well, yes. And certainly, the chemistry is going to be there in a way. That wouldn`t be the case if they`d never been together.
But Justin Timberlake is back on the market since he and Jessica Biel broke up. Now, Cameron Diaz apparently still dating Yankee Alex Rodriguez.
Would you like to see Justin back together with Cammie? I don`t want to break anybody up. But you know, a lot of people always kind of like that. They were together for so long.
GIBSON: I liked it although I see Justin, even though he seems kind of like, you know - I don`t want to say a serial dater, because he`s been in relationships. But I see him more as like the "get married, settle down" type.
Cameron Diaz has come out and made no bones about the fact that she doesn`t care about marriage. She`s like, "You know what? I`m happy as it is now. Blah, blah, blah. So I don`t know. I`m OK with them being apart, actually.
HAMMER: Why are so many people obsessed with them getting back together, even though it probably will never happen?
GIBSON: I don`t know.
HAMMER: What is the answer to that, Debbie?
GIBSON: I don`t know. Please invite me back even though I don`t have that answer.
HAMMER: I`m so confused.
GIBSON: I know. Try being me.
HAMMER: Well, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT will bring you the rest of our revealing with Cameron Diaz along with Justin`s very funny take on working with Cammie. That`s on tomorrow`s show.
But I`ve got to get to one more Hollywood love check tonight, the newly- engaged couple Kim Kardashian and NBA star, Kris Humphries, still basking in the glow of that 20-carat diamond ring.
She`s rocking that ring. But you know, they soon may hit their first speed bump in the relationship. They`re trying to work out a prenuptial agreement, reportedly. Kim worth upwards of $35 million. Kris is worth reportedly a $8 million a year.
Obviously, neither hurting for cash. Kim has been married before. I think this makes sense, but do you think it could signal that maybe she`s not so confident in this love?
GIBSON: See, this is why I don`t care so much about getting married. It like it`s a business arrangement these days, which is sad to me.
And you know, I do think they probably should do the pre-nup thing because their relationship is so much about being in the public eye.
HAMMER: Yes.
GIBSON: And I don`t know how, you know - it`s hard to trust it.
HAMMER: I don`t know. There`s a ton of money at stake there.
GIBSON: Yes.
HAMMER: Debbie Gibson, great to see you.
GIBSON: Great to see you, too.
HAMMER: And make sure check out the concert tour with Tiffany. They`re kicking it off at the end of July.
Moving on now, SHOWBIZ breaks news tonight. Is Gaga heading to Broadway? Come on.
GIBSON: I hope so!
HAMMER: You know you love "Jersey Shore." And the "Shore" is back, baby. Let`s get this party started. Fist pumps all around. That news tops "The Buzz Today."
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over) "Jersey Shore" heads home. MTV has just announced that Snooki, The Situation, Pauly D., J-Woww and the rest of the cast of "Jersey Shore" are coming back home and getting their party on in Jersey for a brand-new fifth season of "Jersey Shore."
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has confirmed season five begins production in Seaside Heights, New Jersey this month. The cast has just wrapped shooting season four of the reality show in Florence, Italy, which can be seen starting August 4th on MTV.
SHOWBIZ breaks news. Is Gaga going Broadway? Lady Gaga has just gotten a major shutout from an acting legend. Eighty-five-year-old Angela Lansbury has just revealed to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT she`s wants Gaga to bring it to Broadway and play Mame, one of the stage`s most over-the-top eccentrics.
Lansbury, who won a Tony for originating the role in 1966, tells us Gaga could pull it off more or less.
ANGELA LANSBURY, ACTRESS: She could sure wear the clothes, that`s for sure. It would be a generational type Mame. I can`t imagine. (INAUDIBLE), but you know, everything`s possible.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: Well, Kate Gosselin is back and she`s getting the final word on SHOWBIZ tonight. Kate responding to her biggest fans from Facebook and Twitter. What are her biggest regrets? No question too intimate, too of- the-wall. You ask, Kate answers, next. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
And now, it`s the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: We`re back with Kate Gosselin. The new season, "Kate Plus 8," debuted tonight on TLC. Kate, it is amazing how many questions that we got to you once we posted that you were going to be here.
So let me get to some from Twitter. This is SHOWBIZ fan, Ms. Catie who hit us with this, "How will Kate help the kids adjust after `Kate Plus 8` is gone? No crew. No traveling, et cetera."
And that`s a legitimate question. Obviously, having all that around has been a significant part of their lives. Have you had conversations about that inevitability with them?
GOSSELIN: No, because I know that our crew will always be a part of our lives with or without their cameras. I know that for sure. So it will just be a matter of getting together. They`re extended family.
And as far as the traveling, it will definitely be decreased, but it`s not that we won`t travel at all. And throughout it all, they`ve been so adaptable with how, you know, randomly we`ve been filming throughout the years.
HAMMER: The cameras aren`t there all the time. And I think, for a long time, there was that perception and you did, you know, when everything was going on, talk quite a bit about how, you know, don`t be mistaken. The cameras aren`t always there. So they do have a balanced -
GOSSELIN: Yes. I mean, we can go weeks without filming. And then, we film, you know, two days in a row. And then, you know, it goes four days and then we film another day. It`s always been random. So there`s not going to be an adjustment, really.
HAMMER: Are they pretty psyched there when the camera guys show up?
GOSSELIN: Yes.
HAMMER: Probably because they`re like family as you said.
GOSSELIN: Yes. Oh, yes. They don`t see the equipment. They see the people behind the equipment. And so, they`re so adaptable. I don`t even feel like that`s an issue.
HAMMER: Let me get to this one. This Is Carey B. and this came from our Facebook wall today, "Have you ever regretted doing a reality show knowing your children are going to be able to see everything that happened in their family documented for the world to see?"
Now, we`ve talked before already tonight about - you don`t have - it doesn`t seem you have any regrets about what you`ve done. But there is that aspect that, yes, all of this stuff that you`ve lived through, that they`ve lived through, is going to be out there one day.
GOSSELIN: It`s out there now. And my kids are aware of that, and it`s their favorite thing to watch at night when I let them pop a movie in their room. It`s always "Kate Plus 8" or "Jon and Kate Plus 8." So these are home videos that they`ve collected. And I feel like we`re at an advantage because they can go back and relive a lot of their memories.
HAMMER: But even the difficult coverage? I guess that`s more, I think, what the viewer is driving at, because that stuff that maybe they did not see as much or they were more aware of -
GOSSELIN: We don`t make episodes that they can`t watch, so it`s sensitive coverage as far as - they are my gauge. So anything that we film and air they are happy to watch.
HAMMER: I`m not going to ask you this full question from the viewer, but they did want to know if you`re going to be running a marathon any time soon because you`ve been running.
GOSSELIN: You know, I was supposed to run a half marathon yesterday actually in San Diego. So I want to do an upcoming one soon, this year.
HAMMER: Well, good luck with that. You look terrific.
GOSSELIN: Thank you.
HAMMER: Obviously, you`re working hard and I appreciate you being here tonight.
GOSSELIN: Thanks.
HAMMER: And you can see more on "Kate Plus 8," of course, Monday nights on TLC. Kate Gosselin, thank you so much.
Well, that is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Thank you for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Remember SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is now seen exclusively Monday to Friday at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific right here on HLN.
