HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City with big news breaking tonight. Breakdown blockbuster. The live on TV trial of Casey Anthony played out right here on HLN today like the compelling soap opera it is. And tonight, the big question is, what was really going on inside the mind of Casey Anthony`s mother.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You know what that photograph is of, Mrs. Anthony?
CINDY ANTHONY, CASEY ANTHONY`S MOTHER: Yes.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Would you like to take a break?
CINDY ANTHONY: No, I`m OK.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: That`s Casey Anthony`s mother, Cindy, breaking down today, just one day after her blockbuster revelation that she was the one who did a Google search for chloroform, not her daughter Casey, a revelation that really seems to turn the trial of Casey on charges she killed her daughter upside down.
And there were even more blockbuster developments today. Casey`s brother also got on the witness stand today and broke down in tears. So, what does it all mean tonight as the countdown to the fate of Casey Anthony continues?
With us tonight, from the trial in Orlando, the HLN all-stars who have been covering this trial like no other network on television. Vinnie Politan is right there. Vinnie, the host of HLN`s "Special Report" everyday 5:00 p.m. eastern, followed by prime news at 6:00 p.m. He is followed every night by Jane Velez-Mitchell, host of "Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell," and all day, of course, we watch Sunny Hostin`s compelling legal analysis right here on HLN. Sunny here with us tonight from New York City.
All right. All-stars, here we go. So much drama from the courtroom to reveal tonight. You guys have been watching every single moment since day one. And I got to say, I think, today, was probably the most emotional of the entire trial. It was truly a day of breakdowns, especially when Casey`s mother was shown a picture of two-year-old Caylee when she was alive. Let`s watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Do you know what that photograph is of, Mrs. Anthony?
CINDY ANTHONY: Yes.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Would you like to take a break? Do you need a break?
CINDY ANTHONY: No, I`m OK.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Can you tell the ladies and gentlemen of the jury what that is?
CINDY ANTHONY: It`s a picture of Caylee walking up the ladder, and I`m behind her holding her.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: She`s clearly heartbroken there. Jane Velez-Mitchell, out to you first, your take on Cindy Anthony`s breakdown today?
JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HOST OF "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL": Well, I think she is very emotional, but I`m wondering if the jurors may be experiencing tear fatigue, which is a new term at this point because this woman has cried many times now on the stand. She cried for the state. Now, she`s crying for the defense. And, she`s also basically falling on the sword and trying to take responsibility for a lot of things that would, otherwise, incriminate her daughter.
For example, she claimed that she`s the one who did all those searches or a good many of them that the state says proves premeditation on the part of Casey. Now, she is saying, oh, the ladder that would have allowed this little girl to get into the pool and drown, it was left up on a crucial day that could exonerate Casey Anthony. So, as one member of the public said to me right after that testimony, hey, I feel sorry for her, but that doesn`t mean I necessarily believe what she`s saying.
HAMMER: There`s no ignoring that emotion, regardless of whether or not people are fatigued, I think, at this point. I don`t think anyone would argue that the defense lawyer throwing out this whole scenario about how little Caylee Anthony died is what made today`s proceedings so riveting to watch.
The defense keeps hammering home that idea that Caylee accidentally drown in the family`s backyard pool. You saw Casey`s mom lose it when she was asked about how much Little Caylee loved to play in that pool. Vinnie Politan, you`ve also been right there at the trial since day one. Break down the breakdown for us.
VINNIE POLITAN, HOST OF HLN "SPECIAL REPORT" EVERYDAY: Here`s the impact, and Cindy Anthony had an impact today, but I think the photographs even more of an impact, because remember, the prosecution in this case has shown this jury a picture of Little Caylee with a strip of duct tape superimposed over her mouth, what they believe was the instrument of death. Well, now, the defense has done the same thing.
They placed Little Caylee inside the pool, which they say was the instrument of death in this case. So, now, this jury has two very vivid images to deal with, one Little Caylee climbing up those stairs going in the pool. The other one, the duct tape, and her face makes this trial much more difficult for them.
HAMMER: Yes. And it wasn`t just those images that brought tears, and it wasn`t just Casey`s mother breaking down in tears live on TV today as everyone watched the Casey Anthony soap opera live right here on HLN. Casey`s brother, Lee, also broke down in a big way when he was on the stand. He revealed that his own family kept Casey`s pregnancy from him. Let`s watch that.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LEE ANTHONY, CASEY ANTHONY`S BROTHER: I was very angry at my mom, and I was also angry at my sister. I mean, I was just angry at everyone in general that they didn`t want to include me and didn`t find it important enough to tell me, especially after I already asked. So, I was very hurt.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Yes, you can certainly see what appears to be the emotions of that old wound coming to the surface there. This blockbuster breakdown really shows to me this level of dysfunction going on in the Anthony family. Sunny Hostin, are you getting the sense that maybe, just maybe, this is simply a family of liars at war with each other?
SUNNY HOSTIN, LEGAL CONTRIBUTOR "IN SESSION": It`s quite possible. I mean, a lot of folks have been saying, and I`ve been saying is this testifying or testilying. I think what it was so odd about Lee Anthony`s breakdown, A.J., is that what he was saying didn`t seem to coincide with the emotion. He was talking about something that had happened long ago.
He was talking about the fact that they didn`t tell him that Casey was pregnant and he had to find out late, how he was so hurt by that omission, but then, he sobbed about it, and that didn`t make sense. So, I think his testimony left more questions than answers.
HAMMER: Yes.
HOSTIN: So, it`s quite possible that the jury is left thinking, is this a truthful reaction or is there a secret there that has not been told to them?
HAMMER: Yes. I have to say I have been amazed as I watch this live trial coverage every day at how much deception and how much emotion is revealed. Now, Jane, ultimately, it`s going to be the jury who writes the end of this soap opera. How do they decide who to believe here?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, that`s a very good question. And I`ve always said, in confusion, there is reasonable doubt. It happens at a lot of trials, and they are throwing everything at the wall, the defense is, to see what sticks. I have to say, right after that very emotional testimony, I rode in the elevator down with Cindy, George, and Lee. And Cindy and Lee were talking in a very animated fashion to each other.
This is a family that I believe is strategizing this defense. Cindy`s been in there taking notes since day one. And they know exactly what they need to say, some would say, to create reasonable doubt. And is this just a strategic move on their part?
HAMMER: So, Jane, I have to ask you. So, you`re riding in the elevator with them right after they gave this what appeared to be such heartbreaking and emotional testimony. You say they were talking fast and furious. Did they appear at all to have been affected emotionally by what they just had experienced?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Absolutely. I think they`re human beings who are suffering tremendously, and I don`t pass judgment. Who would want to be put in their shoes? George, actually, did something extraordinary. While Cindy and Lee were talking, he turned around and faced the wall of the elevator -- not the door, the wall of the elevator and stood there, and he`s holding a bible.
I think he is, perhaps, more devastated and having a harder time. Cindy is scrappy. And Lee is young, but George, oh, my God, especially being accused of molestation by his own daughter. I have tremendous compassion for that man.
HAMMER: I mean, unbelievable. And to have seen him immediately after there, Jane Velez-Mitchell, I have to imagine it was quite stunning to get in the elevator and ride down with them after all that they had experienced.
Well, Jane Velez-Mitchell, Vinnie Politan, Sunny Hostin, I thank you all. Just incredible watching your coverage down there from Orlando. And of course, don`t forget to keep it right here on HLN starting at 9 a.m. tomorrow. We are the only network bringing you wall-to-wall coverage this weekend as the Casey Anthony murder trial continues. Live testimony begins nine tomorrow only on HLN.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT in breaking news mode on this story that still seems so hard to believe. Let`s get you up to speed on the latest breaking developments.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER (voice-over): Tonight, confirmation that Michael Jackson, one of the biggest superstars of all time, is dead at the age of 50.
Flashing you back to June 25th, 2009 right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with what`s probably the biggest story we`ve ever reported, the death of Michael Jackson. And this Saturday marks the second anniversary of the day we lost the King of Pop.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER (on-camera): Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Tonight, remembering Michael. And I can`t believe it has been two years now since that tragic day. I remember it so well. And just like HLN was the go-to place for all the shocking details of Michael Jackson`s death, HLN is bringing you all the drama in this story`s next chapter. Of course, that`s the upcoming involuntary manslaughter trial of Jackson`s personal doctor, Conrad Murray.
I want to bring our HLN all-stars. In Orlando, we have Vinnie Politan, host, of course, of HLN`s "Special Report" at 5:00 p.m. eastern and "Prime News" at 6:00 p.m. eastern, also Jane Velez-Mitchell, host of "Issues Jane Velez-Mitchell" at 7:00 p.m. eastern every night right here on HLN, both joining us from Orlando, where, of course, they`re covering the ongoing Casey Anthony trial.
So, getting tomorrow, the second anniversary of Michael Jackson`s death, I honestly can`t believe it has taken this long for this involuntary manslaughter trial to get going. I realize the wheels of justice turn slowly, but we have Conrad Murray, who has pleaded not guilty to giving Michael Jackson a fatal dose of sedatives. Vinnie let me start with you, today, we are learning that the prosecutors are asking for yet another delay. So, what the heck is the hold-up here?
POLITAN: Well, it`s a scheduling problem. And it`s just a few weeks, A.J., OK? It`s just a few weeks. I practice law in New Jersey where murder cases and manslaughter cases sometimes would take three or four years to get to trial. So, we`re not at the point that it`s a super delay. Remember, the investigation to get to an indictment took some time in this case. So, we`re on pace. We`re going to have the trial, and ultimately, there will be a verdict in this case.
HAMMER: OK. I guess, yes, there`s obviously a lot of frustration, because after all, we are talking about Michael Jackson in this case. Jackson`s family has a shocking take on Murray`s role in Jackson`s death. Michael`s sister, La Toya is saying that Dr. Murray is just a fall guy in a conspiracy to kill Michael Jackson.
Just this week, right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, La Toya told me that Michael once told her that people were out to kill him for his valuable music catalogue. It really was an amazing moment. Take a look at what she said.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LA TOYA JACKSON, MICHAEL JACKSON`S SISTER: Oh, no. I did. When he first told me, A.J., I have to be honest. I didn`t believe it. I said, Michael, come on, you`re Michael Jackson. Who in the world would do this? Nobody would try to kill you. I mean, it would be world news, and everybody would know about it. They`re not going to do it, but he was so passionate, adamant about it. He said you don`t understand. It`s all about my catalogue. This is what they want. And this is what they`re going to do, and he was terrified.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Yes. La Toya there adamants that others are responsible for Michael Jackson`s death. Jane, could this conspiracy theories actually ended up helping his Conrad Murray`s defense do you think?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Absolutely. In confusion, there is reasonable doubt, and conspiracy theories can take on a life of their own. This trial is going to be absolutely huge. Michael Jackson`s legend continues to grow after his death. The people are forgetting now about the child molestation charges and the scandal, and they`re thinking about his music. Everywhere I go, I hear his music. He is becoming like Marilyn Monroe or Elvis. Bigger than he ever was in real life, and this is going to be a major trial.
HAMMER: Yes. And the question is, how major? Vinnie, I want to get your take on that. Obviously, you and Jane right there in Orlando are covering the Casey Anthony trial, witnessing firsthand the spectacle that that trial has become. Do you envision the trial over Michael Jackson`s death becoming kind of the frenzy that we`re seeing right now?
POLITAN: Actually -- first, you go by the location. You`re going to be in Los Angeles. So, by there, you just ramp it up incredibly. And now, you`re talking about the world`s most famous man and someone is being brought into a criminal courtroom, being held responsible for his death. My goodness. It`s going to be huge. We`ve never really seen this before where you have someone so famous who dies, and you`re bringing someone in court who`s going to be responsible for killing him.
HAMMER: Yes.
POLITAN: And there`s going to be a trial with it.
HAMMER: It will be quite a stunning event. And this weekend, of course, we all look back and remember Michael Jackson two years since his death. HLN all-stars, Jane Velez-Mitchell, Vinnie Politan, I thank you both.
All right. we have to move on now to the outrageous new star stories that are breaking tonight that have me asking --
Is it brilliant or bananas?
Why Kim Kardashian released x-rays today of her butt.
And Justin Bieber mobbed while pushing his perfume for women. You have to stay put to find out if all of this is brilliant or bananas.
Inside the mind of Casey Anthony`s east mother. Cindy Anthony`s emotional breakdown on the witness stand as she testifies today about her murdered granddaughter.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Do you know what that photograph is of, Mrs. Anthony?
CINDY ANTHONY: Yes.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Would you like to take a break? Do you need a break?
CINDY ANTHONY: No, I`m OK.
HAMMER: What`s she really thinking? Well, tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT goes inside the mind of Cindy Anthony.
This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN, news and views.
It is time for the "Showbiz News Ticker," more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Tonight, Lindsay Lohan has a new nickname, Lucky Lindsay. Lindsay just dodged a major bullet yet again when a judge decided that her failed alcohol test was not, in fact, a violation of her probation. But, Lindsay, what the heck were you doing drinking in the first place? Well, Lindsay is now saying, she was enjoying a lovely glass of her favorite tea that happened to have a small amount of alcohol in it. Anybody heard of that? I`ve never heard of that. That`s Lindsay`s spin on the story.
Joining me tonight from Hollywood, Showbiz Tonight`s resident spin doctor and PR guru, the great Howard Bragman. He`s the founder of Fifteen Minutes Public Relations. All right, doctor. We know how Lindsay is spinning her failed alcohol test. Let`s listen to how Lindsay`s lawyer, Shawn Holly, put her spin on the whole story. Roll that.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SHAWN HOLLEY, LINDSAY LOHAN`S ATTORNEY: I don`t know whether she drank alcohol or not. We never have to even get to that issue. The probation department says she has a test showing positive for alcohol. That`s fine. Even if that`s so, even if she drank alcohol, she`s permitted to drink alcohol in her home. Drinking alcohol is legal.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Maybe it was a long island iced tea. I don`t know. All right. That`s Lindsay`s lawyer`s spin. Now, to our spin doctor, Howard, if you were advising Lindsay and her team, is this how you would spin it? Go ahead, spin it within a minute. I think it`s going to be different.
HOWARD BRAGMAN, FOUNDER, FIFTEEN MINUTES PR: Well, I think what they have to understand is Lindsay may have won in the court of law yesterday, but she hurt herself even more in the court of public opinion, and you have to play both games. And, frankly, her fans, the people who want her to come back are really tired that she keeps winning on, quote/unquote, "technicalities."
She doesn`t take responsibility. The tea she`s talking about is a fermented mushroom tea that I`ve had, and you drink it and you frankly get a little buzz. It`s got a little alcohol content from this, A.J. And, you know, that`s between her and her conscience, but she`s used bad judgment along the way in terms of having a party at her house under house arrest.
HAMMER: Yes.
BRAGMAN: At some point, she needs to take responsibility, and I want to make a prediction here, A.J. The next thing she`s going to spin is financial problems. This girl spins like a drunken sailor on pay day.
HAMMER: And your time is up, Howard. There`s your minute. I`m sorry. Sold out. Quickly, give me your bottom line very quickly for Lindsay.
BRAGMAN: Lindsay, it`s time to grow up, baby.
HAMMER: All right. Howard Bragman, the doctor, I thank you as always for your spin.
And we have to move on to finding out if we`re going to name Lindsay as the "Most Provocative Celebrity of the Week." One of our nominees tonight --
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER (voice-over): Along with Jennifer Aniston who`s accused of being a man stealer. Maybe J.Lo reportedly saying she`s going to leave "American Idol"? Coming up.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER (on-camera): And the outrageous new star stories breaking tonight that have us asking, is it brilliant or bananas?
Why Kim Kardashian released x-rays today of her butt.
This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN, news and views.
Here comes the "Showbiz News Ticker," more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Big news breaking tonight on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. The outrageous new star stories that have us asking brilliant or bananas?
A Kim Kardashian back side bum shell. Kim shows off x-rays of her butt. Brilliant or bananas?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Did you input the words into the Google search engine "how to make chloroform"?
CINDY ANTHONY: I don`t recall putting in "how to make chloroform" but I did Google search chloroform.
HAMMER: Cindy Anthony takes the stand today and breaks down while testifying about her murdered granddaughter. What she really thinking? Tonight, inside the mind of Casey Anthony`s mom.
Pippa posing, in her underwear? Well, Usher wants Pippa Middleton to take it off for his new lingerie line. Will this lead to royal outrage?
ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City with big news breaking tonight.
Brilliant or bananas? And this is a mighty bootylicious, bombastic news today. Kim Kardashian has apparently decided to prove she doesn`t have butt implants by getting her ramp x-rayed, but she is not the only celebrity doing outrageous things today.
Jennifer Lopez making big news today. She is reportedly thinking about ditching "American Idol" to reignite her movie career. Good idea?
And to amp up the wild factor today, get this. Justin Bieber is launching a new perfume for women because this 17-year-old pop star knows how women should smell.
And MTV is reportedly ousting the cast of "Jersey Shore" for a whole new cast. Seriously. So, many outrageous stories today that have us asking --
Is it brilliant or bananas?
OK. Right now in Hollywood is Kim Serafin who`s a senior editor for "In Touch Weekly," and right now, from Hollywood, Sean Kanan. Sean stars, of course, as the ruthless and skinny Deacon Sharpe on the "Young and the Restless." Guys, I appreciate you being here. Let us not waste any time.
SEAN KANAN, ACTOR: Thanks, A.J. Good to see you.
HAMMER: We must get to what I believe is truly the most outrageous story of today. Kim Kardashian`s bootylicious x-ray. Now, I want you to take a look at this photo. Can we put it up? We have photo that Kim`s sister, Khloe, tweeted today. Isn`t that beautiful? There she is looking smug next to an x-ray of her behind. Nice going, Kim. She said she wants to put those butt implant rumors to bed. What better way to do it? So, we`ve got to ask today --
Is it brilliant or bananas?
OK, Kim Serafin, what do you think? I could go either way on this.
KIM SERAFIN, SENIOR EDITOR, "IN TOUCH WEEKLY": Bananas for anyone else, brilliant for Kim Kardashian, because Kim Kardashian`s business is to create publicity about herself. Any week that she`s not in the news is a week that people may not watch her TV show or buy her products. So, anything that generates publicity is great. She`s a master this. Good for Kim. Brilliant.
HAMMER: Yes. I`m right there with you. Just to add to the brilliance of the story, Kim`s sister, Khloe, actually suggested to the doctor that, you know, he could give Kim`s butt a nice little squeeze to tell if it`s real or not. Perfect, right? Sean Kanan, what do you think? Is Kim`s butt x-ray brilliant or is it bananas in your mind?
KANAN: Listen, I think she`s a brilliant businesswoman. I heard she tried to save a few bucks out to L.A.X., and she had the x-ray done through the TSA scanners. So, I got to go brilliant.
HAMMER: All right. We`ll leave the light bulb right here over her face, but I do need to move it away, actually, because we must now get to Jennifer Lopez. Now, J.Lo is in the news today not denying the reports that she might leave "American Idol" after just one season so she could get back to making more movies. Her career, let`s face it, has just been totally invigorated by her stint on "Idol". I think the show has been great for her. She`s been great for the show. Should she really leave? It has us asking today --
Is it brilliant or bananas?
Kim Serafin, off to you.
SERAFIN: Bananas if this is not a negotiating technique to get more money. I think it is. So, I`m going to say brilliant. She makes about $12 million right now. I think she wants it up to 35 million. So, brilliant to flow it out to movie career out there, but you`re right. This was great for her and great for the show. She needs to go back on "American Idol."
HAMMER: Yes. I`m thinking she should definitely figure out a way to work this out, stay put, J.Lo. Sean, off to you. What`s your take J.Lo`s thinking about leaving "American Idol." Brilliant or bananas?
KANAN: You know, look, she`s beautiful, she`s talented, she`s brilliant. And I mean, hasn`t America waited long enough for a sequel to "Gigli"? Come on. Get back in there, J.Lo.
HAMMER: All right. Does that mean bananas?
KANAN: No, no. It`s brilliant. I think it`s brilliant.
HAMMER: OK. Well, now, I`m just confused. I`m going to move the fruit and light bulb off to the side because we can`t talk about brilliance or bananas today without talking about The Biebs. Now, Justin Bieber has just launched his brand new fragrance line. Yes. It`s a perfume for women. It`s wistfully called Sunday. Now, Bieber --
(LAUGHTER)
HAMMER: It`s very optimistic. Bieber tells Matt Lauer on NBC`s "Today Show" why he made perfume instead of going for a cologne. May we see that?
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JUSTIN BIEBER, POP STAR: (INAUDIBLE). So, that`s why I decided to do it for all the girls --
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER (on-camera): He decided to do it for all the girls. Very magnanimous of the Bieb, right? And this 16-year-old, 17-year-old, what he is at this point, he does know how he likes his ladies to smell. So, of course, today, I have to ask --
Is it brilliant or bananas?
All right. Kim Serafin, what are we doing here?
SERAFIN: Look, I`m a believer. So, I`m going to say brilliant because what teen (ph) girl doesn`t want to maybe have a chance of meeting Justin and smelling good, but I`ll say the feminist in me really is a little bit upset because, what, he thinks that women just wake up in the morning and think, oh, I`ll just wear something all day just in case I might need a guy that might like the way I smell, but he`s got at that point in his career. So, I`ll give him brilliant.
HAMMER: You know, Kim, there are women, you know, what it actually means in the feminist world, there are actually women who probably young girls anyway who wake up and think that. I`m not saying --
SERAFIN: I hope not.
HAMMER: Oh, I hope not, too, trust me.
(LAUGHTER)
HAMMER: But they`re out there as a believer looking at everything that`s going on on the internet. And I`ve seen them actually right that. I`m not saying it`s right. I`m just saying I`ve seen it.
SERAFIN: Sure.
HAMMER: Listen, Sean, I need to get your manly take on this because girls are saying they feel closer to the Biebs when they wear his scent. Even more winning -- and here`s what I like, though, about what`s he`s doing. All the proceeds of the fragrance sales are going to charity. So, on that, I`m saying brilliant. Sean, are you saying bananas to any of this?
KANAN: You know, I`m going to say brilliant, A.J. I have a nine- year-old who definitely has Bieber fever, and here`s why I think it`s brilliant. I mean, I`m amazed that they`re able to capture, you know, whatever in a bottle. I mean, he knows his audience, and I think it`s a great move.
HAMMER: You know, I don`t picture Justin Bieber actually there in the factory putting the concoctions together, but I imagine he was actually somehow involved beyond just saying yes, OK, do whatever you want. Anyway, let`s move on right now to a crew certainly less known for their brilliance and more known for their bananas, and I`m talking about their antiques there, the cast of "The Jersey Shore."
There are some crazy reports out there today that MTV plans on replacing the entire cast of "Jersey Shore" with a whole new, and of course, it would wind up being a much cheaper cast. Of course, this probably means we`ll be seeing many Snookie spin-off. There are plenty in the works, but it does beg the question --
Is it brilliant or bananas?
Hard to imagine "Jersey Shore" without Snookie or The Situation. I`m actually thinking the whole idea is bananas, but I have to go to you, Kim Serafin, for your opinion.
SERAFIN: I`m going to say brilliant, because I think part of the charm of the "Jersey Shore" was when they kind of unknown. Nobody knew them and saying GTL and the canning (ph) was kind of fun and cool, and now they know it. So, it`s a little bit different now. I think bringing the whole new cast -- every reality show brings in a whole new cast, even we just talked about "American Idol." They brought in a whole new cast and new panel of judges, and it was great. So, I say brilliant bringing a new cast. I want to see a new face. No more GTL.
HAMMER: OK. That`s fair enough. And by the way, you`re calling this brilliant did give me the opportunity to give Snookie`s spoof a light bulb hat, which I think coming on this a little bit here. I mean, I just think it`s a perfect look for her.
SERAFIN: I did it just for you.
HAMMER: Sean Kanan, I know you do not miss an episode of "Jersey Shore."
KANAN: I don`t.
HAMMER: I hope you do not sit down and watch the show with your young daughter? What do you think in the whole idea of fleshing the cast out and starting anew? Brilliant or bananas?
KANAN: Yes. I think is bananas. I mean, where are the producers ultimately going to find another group of role models for America`s youth like these guys. I think that -- I don`t know. Snookie`s got some small shoes to fill.
HAMMER: And now, she looks like -- who wore the hats? Was it Carmen Miranda (ph) with the banana hats --
(CROSSTALK)
HAMMER: All right. Well, it`s going to be very interesting to see how that plays out that news just breaking today. Sean Kanan, Kim Serafin, I thank you both for playing along.
KANAN: Thanks, A.J.
HAMMER: All right. Well, you certainly heard what we think. Now, we want to turn it over to you. It`s our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll. Jennifer Lopez reportedly may leave "American Idol" for movies. Do you think she`s brilliant, she`s bananas? Vote at CNN.com/showbiztonight and e-mail us too. Our address is showbiztonight@cnn.com.
Casey Anthony`s mom, Cindy, takes the stand today and breaks down just as she testifies about her murdered granddaughter.
HAMMER (voice-over): But what Cindy Anthony really thinking? Tonight, we go inside the mind of Casey`s mom.
What`s going on inside the mind of Lindsay Lohan? She nearly got throw in jail this week. Lindsay, one of our nominees for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Most Provocative Celebrity of the Week, also Jennifer Aniston for reportedly being a man stealer, and J.Lo for hinting she might leave "American Idol."

Pippa posing in her underwear? Yes. That`s what Usher`s hoping will happen. He`s got a new lingerie line that`s coming out this summer, and he wants royal sibling, Pippa Middleton, to promote the line. Listen to what he tells "Look" magazine, "I don`t think there`s more beautiful, more stunning, more talked about woman in the world. I`m going to be approaching her in the next few weeks."
So, I got to wonder what Prince William and Pippa`s sister, Katherine, think about all of this. I don`t see it happens.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.
Inside the mind of Casey Anthony`s mother. So, what has Cindy Anthony been thinking about for the past 27 days as she has sat inside that courtroom in Orlando watching her daughter, Casey, on trial in the death of her daughter, Caylee? And is the emotion and intensity of it all just getting to her at this point? Today, her big breakdown on the witness stand.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: With me right now from just outside that Florida courtroom, TV`s Judge Alex Ferrer who`s a circuit court judge in Florida, and in New York tonight, Sunny Hostin, who`s a legal contributor for "In Session" on truTV.
Judge Alex, I welcome you back. I appreciate the special insight you bring to all of this. You`ve been right there at the trial.
JUDGE ALEX FERRER, HOST OF "JUDGE ALEX": Thank you, A.J.
HAMMER: What do you think is going through the mind of Casey Anthony`s mother?
FERRER: Absolute hell. I can`t imagine anything that would be worse for a mother than having your granddaughter murdered and having to be a witness at the trial of your own daughter for that very say murder. And on top of all that, being the catalyst, the one who picked up the phone and called 911 and told the police my granddaughter`s missing and my daughter`s car smells like a dead body was in there.
Now, she`s sitting there, watching this train that the ultimate destination is Florida`s death chamber with her daughter on to this passenger. I can`t imagine anything worse for a parent, A.J.
HAMMER: Yes. Sunny, I mean, I think, Judge Alex using the word hell sums it up pretty well. What do you think is going on in the mind of Casey`s mother?
HOSTIN: I think she`s very conflicted. I mean, her attorneys have said that she doesn`t believe that Casey is innocent, but, when you see her on the witness stand, she seems to be very helpful to her daughter. And so, I would imagine that she`s very, very conflicted because she may believe that something criminal has happened here, but she doesn`t know what. She doesn`t believe the prosecution`s theory.
She doesn`t believe the defense theory. She doesn`t know what happened, and it`s very, very clear that she was almost a mother figure to this little girl. She loved her little granddaughter. And so, she`s very much a grieving grandmother and also a grieving mother. I don`t think anyone would want to be in her shoes right now.
HAMMER: No question about that. And I have to wonder what was going to the mind of Cindy Anthony when she just dropped that bombshell in court claiming that she was the one who did those computer searches for chloroform, that prosecutors claim Casey actually did during her alleged plotting to kill her daughter. Let`s watch that.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You testified in the past that you looked up chlorophyll, correct? Correct?
CINDY ANTHONY: Correct. It`s the same time I looked up chloroform.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You suggested that the Google search engine asked you if you wanted to change the spelling of chlorophyll when you made this search, correct?
CINDY ANTHONY: Correct.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Because you spelled chlorophyll wrong.
CINDY ANTHONY: Correct.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Did you input the word into the Google search engine - "how to make chloroform?" I don`t recall putting in how to make chloroform, but I did Google search chloroform, and we talked about it in my deposition.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Judge Alex, back to you in Orlando, and a point that you have made, a lot of people were saying today that the one thing going through the mind of Casey`s mother when she talked about that she wants to do everything possible to make sure Casey does not get the death penalty if convicted, I imagine and tell me your thought on this, that Cindy has to feel like she`s on trial, too.
FERRER: Well, yes, she absolutely is. All of America is looking at her, and I think judging her is somewhat unfairly, because, you know, they see her, it`s poignantly obvious that she`s trying to turn her testimony and her original comments around to benefit her daughter, but who can heal blame her? I mean, I don`t -- I certainly do not condone somebody getting on the stand and perjuring themselves.
Don`t get me wrong. But I certainly understand what a mother or father must go through, seeing their child possibly being sent to be executed and how much people would do and what people would do to avoid that happening. So, I certainly understand it.
HAMMER: Sunny Hostin, is that how you see it? Do you think that Cindy Anthony has to be sitting there feeling almost as if this is a trial for her?
FERRER: I think so. I mean, she has so much invested in this, the death of her granddaughter and the potential death of her daughter because this is the capital case. I will say this, I mean, I don`t know if she`s tested the line. I don`t know that. I don`t think anyone can say that with any certainty, but she did mention chloroform in her 2009 deposition, because I read her deposition last night. And so, you know, who are we to judge?
Who are we to say that Cindy Anthony is, you know, recently fabricating the story to save the life of her daughter. Is it possible? Yes. Is it something a parent would do? Yes. Is she doing it? We don`t know.
HAMMER: I mean, all is so unimaginable which is what makes it all so compelling. Judge Alex Ferrer, Sunny Hostin, thank you both so much.
Well, coming up next as we move on tonight.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is naming the "Most Provocative Celebrity of the Week." Will it be Lindsay Lohan after she failed an alcohol test while on house arrest and nearly got thrown in the slammer? Maybe J. Aniston, Jennifer Aniston, reportedly stealing her man from his girlfriend of 14 years? Or J.Lo for hinting she may leave "American Idol?" Find out who we name next.
This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN, news and views.
Here comes the "Showbiz News Ticker," more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT making news tonight.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: It is time now for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT to name the "Most Provocative Celebrity of the Week."
Will it be Lindsay Lohan for failing an alcohol test while on house arrest? Will it be Jennifer Aniston for reportedly stealing her man from his girlfriend of 14 years? Is it Jennifer Lopez for hinting she may be leaving "American Idol"?
Three ladies, three big stories. People buzzing about them all week long. Back with me now, "Young and the Restless" star, Sean Kanan. All right. Sean, let`s get started talking about J.Lo. She makes a list of nominees this week. She`s hinting she may be leaving "American Idol." You got watch what she just told extra about that.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JENNIFER LOPEZ, SINGER/ACTRESS: You know, I`m just -- I just am not. You know, nobody`s made me make the decision yet, and I could, you know, kind of go either way. I loved it. I`m not saying I didn`t love it. I so loved it, but you know, I`m only get (ph) signed off for one year, so the second year just not, you know, we don`t know yet.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Yes. Leaving the door right open there. She`s got a couple of movies in the pipeline.
KANAN: Yes.
HAMMER: She`s got a TV project with her husband, Marc Anthony. As I said earlier, I think she`d been great for "Idol". "Idol`s" been great for her. Sean, is that enough to make her the "Most Provocative Celebrity of the Week?"
KANAN: I tell you, J.Lo is (INAUDIBLE) isn`t she? You know, she is teasing all those "Idol" fans like that. Will I stay? Will I go? But I`m going to have to say, no, I don`t think that she is the most provocative celebrity.
HAMMER: All right. Maybe we`ll revisit this if, in fact, she decides she is going to bail out on "American Idol." I think that might put her in the lead in this category.
KANAN: Right.
HAMMER: Jennifer Aniston --
KANAN: That actually happened in -- yes.
HAMMER: Yes. OK. Yes.
KANAN: That was more -- that`s kind of interesting, because, you know, look, America`s sweetheart stealing another girl`s guy, seemingly out of character for her.
HAMMER: Right.
KANAN: You know, I think that that actually, in my book, may constitute being the winner. You know, it`s tough, though, it`s tough to beat Lindsay, though, you know? Lindsay is always like a fan-favorite, comes on strong in the late rounds, failing an alcohol test. I heard she studied hard for it.
(LAUGHTER)
KANAN: It`s a little bit of a toss-up.
HAMMER: She had her tea to drink, Sean. And, here`s a thing. If I could revisit Jennifer Aniston for a second, these are the reports that she was the one who was responsible for him, her new boyfriend, dumping his girlfriend of 14 years, Justin Theroux. We don`t actually know what happened there. We`re not exactly sure, but a lot of people are also saying she`s a good nominee for "Most Provocative Celebrity of the Week" because all of this seems to be happening right around the time they`re getting such a release their new movie together, but let`s not waste any time --
(CROSSTALK)
HAMMER: Yes. Let`s get right to it. You`re out there in Hollywood. You see it all the time. How about my drum roll, Charles? There it is. We named SHOWBIZ TONIGHT "Most Provocative Celebrity of the Week" as, yes, Lindsay Lohan. Really, was there any other choice? She was back in court. She was under house arrest. She got a pass from the judge, but really, Lindsay Lohan, let me just say this one final time as we wrap the week up. If you`re under house arrest, even if you`re allowed to, don`t throw parties and don`t drink alcohol, even if in its your tea.
Sean Kanan, always great to see you, my friend. Thanks for being here.
KANAN: Thanks, A.J.
HAMMER: And that is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Thank you for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Remember, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is now seen exclusively Monday through Friday at 11:00 p.m. eastern and pacific right here on HLN.
