Hello, I`m Carlos Diaz, in for A.J. Hammer with big news breaking tonight - twisted testimony?
With just three days to go before Casey Anthony walks out of jail a free woman, there are explosive, and I have to say startling claims tonight, that someone may have tampered with one of the witnesses at her trial.
Yes, someone may have tried to twist the outcome of the trial, but who might have done it? And who was the target? Was it Casey`s mom? What about her father? How about her brother? And if it turns out to be true, what could happen next?
Right now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with the brand-new burning questions that surfaced today in the Casey Anthony saga.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over) Another twist in a Casey Anthony legal drama that`s full of them.
SGT. JOHN ALLEN, CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION: With regard to the witness tampering, we wouldn`t say who is specifically targeted.
DIAZ: Police say they`re looking into possible witness tampering in the Casey Anthony case, but they`re not saying exactly which of the many, many witnesses we saw in the long and dramatic trial may have been tampered with.
ALLEN: With regard to where we will go, it really depends on what information we get.
DIAZ: But cops are giving out one hint. They say the witness in question wasn`t Casey`s mom, Cindy Anthony, yet another mystery in a case many thought was over when Casey got acquitted.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Not guilty -
DIAZ: With Casey Anthony set to walk out of jail Sunday, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you plenty of people are still questioning whether Casey really did have something to do with her daughter Caylee`s death.
And today, there`s a new question, is one of those doubters a member of Casey`s own defense team?
JOY BEHAR, HOST, "THE JOY BEHAR SHOW": Would you let Casey baby sit your kids?
DIAZ: Last night, HLN`s Joy Behar asked Anthony defense attorney, Dorothy Clay Sims, a simple question and what followed set a TV record for awkward pauses.
BEHAR: Would you leave her with your children?
DOROTHY CLAY SIMS, CASEY ANTHONY`S ATTORNEY: I liked Casey Anthony. I came to trust her and that`s a really - I thought the Casey Anthony that I knew - I felt very comfortable with her.
I felt that the person that I became close to during that trial, I felt comfortable with her.
BEHAR: Well, I guess if you believe she`s completely innocent, then you would.
SIMS: Well, again, my children are grown. I don`t quite know how to answer.
BEHAR: OK. Your grandchildren?
DIAZ: And she never really answered the question.
BEHAR: How about your grandchildren?
SIMS: I think Casey Anthony has been so unfairly represented in the press. The person that I know I felt very comfortable with.
DIAZ: This morning, on Joy`s other show, "The View," Behar said she didn`t mean to trip up her guest.
BEHAR: It`s actually an honest answer in a certain way because if she felt that Casey were completely innocent, she would have said, probably, "Yes, of course, I would."
DIAZ: But even if Casey is no one`s idea of an ideal babysitter, today, there`s another indicator of Casey`s stardom.
ABC News reports fans of Casey Anthony have sent almost $500 to her jailhouse bank account. The average inmate only has about $36.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Not guilty -
DIAZ: Much of Casey`s jailhouse windfall came in the days after the verdict.
GEORGE ANTHONY: I`m trying to do everything I can to get a chance to see you.
DIAZ: And very little of it came from her parents who reportedly haven`t sent her any money since May. And get this - Casey gets to take the money with her when she leaves jail Sunday.
So as Casey walks out of jail with a pocketful of cash, her case has spawned a witness-tampering investigation and at least two lawsuits showing that the Casey Anthony saga is no where close to being over.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
So what would an investigation into witness tampering mean for the Casey Anthony case?
Joining me now from Orlando is Steve Helling. He is a writer for "People" magazine and has been in Florida covering the Casey Anthony case. Also in Orlando tonight is CNN national correspondent Gary Tuchman, who just spoke with one of the jurors who acquitted Casey Anthony.
We`ll get to Gary`s amazing interview with the juror in just a second. But first, what if those witness-tampering claims are true?
Steve, I`ve got to tell you, my phone has been blowing up. My Twitter account has been blowing up with people wanting to know if there is witness tampering, could they actually retry Casey in this case again?
STEVE HELLING, STAFF WRITER, "PEOPLE" MAGAZINE: No, they cannot. First of all, double jeopardy has applied to this case, and this is not juror tampering. If it was juror tampering, yes, they could retry her.
But this was a witness that was searching for Caylee Anthony`s body back several years ago, and she didn`t even testify in court. So the verdict stands. I`m sorry, but Casey is a free woman.
DIAZ: Yes. And you know, police are saying it`s witnesses, not jurors, as you said. One of those jurors who acquitted Casey is Jennifer Ford who originally voted for the aggravated manslaughter charge.
But Gary, let`s watch as she tells you that, in the end, the prosecution`s case was just not strong enough for a conviction. Let`s take a look.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
GARY TUCHMAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: You were telling me when the prosecution ended its case, when the prosecutor said the prosecution rests, you had a very unusual emotion. What was it?
JENNIFER FORD, JUROR IN THE CASEY ANTHONY CASE: I was shocked. I thought they were showing everything up until that point, starting off with the small stuff and they were working their way up to the big piece of evidence.
And I was slightly shocked when they rested and that was all that they were going to give to us work with because, again, it wasn`t that strong. Like, I mean, if you just look at the picture as a whole it looks strong.
But if you kind of get down to the heart of the matter, so to say, there`s nothing completely solid.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Gary, when you were talking with Jennifer, did you get the sense she regretted not being able to stick with her initial vote of manslaughter?
TUCHMAN: No, I don`t think she regretted it at all. What was really interesting, Carlos, is she believed the defense did not tell the truth in its opening statement.
She doesn`t believe the theory they put out there that Casey was molested by her father. She doesn`t believe the theory that Caylee drowned.
Nevertheless, even though they didn`t believe the defense, they believed it was hogwash, they didn`t believe the prosecution presented enough evidence that Casey was guilty of the killing of her daughter.
And therefore, ultimately, even though Jennifer voted initially for manslaughter, she was talked out of it and so were five other jurors.
DIAZ: So to put it simply, she doesn`t think the defense did a good job. She thinks the prosecution did a bad job.
TUCHMAN: She definitely did not think the defense did a good job. But she also doesn`t necessarily believe the prosecution did a bad job.
As a matter of fact, she thinks they did a very good job with the evidence they had. She just doesn`t think they had enough evidence.
DIAZ: OK. Well, we just heard that juror say she was shocked when the prosecution rested because she felt that they were just putting together the pieces in the case.
Steve, did you get the same feeling when you were covering it for "People" magazine that they had all the pieces, but they just didn`t kind of interconnect them?
HELLING: Well, you know, there were some gaps in the theory and that was a real problem. And I noticed a lot of people on Twitter were saying they were still looking for that smoking gun.
And we put out a cover story that said, you know, could Casey go free after the prosecution was done? And people savaged us for it but it was a good question because there were just some questions that were never answered in the prosecution`s case. And it was unfortunate for them that they weren`t able to seal the deal.
DIAZ: Well, this trial has been extremely polarizing. And a lot of people are upset over the jury acquitting Casey. Gary, I want to take a look at what the juror told you about her life since the verdict. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
FORD: You come home and everyone`s mad at you. And the media is outside hounding you and making it clear they`re not leaving. And it`s just very stressful and then, you know, you get anonymous letters from people that are hateful and nasty.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Gary, you have about 30 seconds. Does Jennifer regret serving on that Casey Anthony jury?
TUCHMAN: Yes, she does regret it. She was anxious to serve on it during questioning. She said, "I want to serve on this jury." Now, she says she could never do it again.
She says it`s been traumatizing. She says it`s been harrowing. She`s gotten hate mails. She`s gotten death threats. What`s really important to note is no matter how you feel about the verdict, the polls show most people think it`s a terrible verdict.
You can`t take it out on the jurors. You can`t attack the jurors. They`re doing what they`re supposed to do. And if we attack the jurors, who is going to serve on the juries of the future? No one would want to.
DIAZ: Yes. Gary Tuchman, very good point. Gary, Steven Helling, thank you so much for joining us. All right. To read more about this case and what`s next for Casey Anthony, pick up your copy of "People" magazine on newsstands on Friday.
More shocking developments coming up on the SHOWBIZ Casey Anthony watch. The startling Casey Anthony jailhouse tapes.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: I`m not going to explain to you what I did. It`s an ad for this agency. If you don`t understand it, then you shouldn`t be in this business.
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: You humiliated us by not putting our names on it. You left us with this hypocrisy.
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: So deny it.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
DIAZ: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Carlos Diaz. Tonight, Halle`s horrible nightmare. Halle Berry had just gotten a restraining order against the man who allegedly terrorized her by repeatedly jumping over her security wall and looking in her window of her home.
Now, the guy was caught on her property, arrested, charged with felony stalking and he has just pleaded not guilty. But even with the restraining order, could Halle still be in danger? Seriously?
With me tonight in New York is Lauren Lake, who is an attorney and TV host.
So police say this guy was caught red-handed on Halle`s property with a book of nonsense to go, ramblings and Halle`s name written in his handwriting.
He also has a criminal history of violence, theft and drug offenses. Lauren, is the restraining order enough to keep Halle safe?
LAUREN LAKE, ATTORNEY AND TV HOST: It should be, but unfortunately, Carlos, we`ve seen in many instances that restraining orders fail to often protect the people that they`re in place to protect.
Now, I`m hoping for Halle Berry`s sake and the fact that she can afford ample security that this one will in fact hold and keep her safe.
But you know what? As a defense attorney, it`s never cut and dry. We`ve got to figure out who this guy is. Does he have a history of mental illness in addition to violence? All these things will be relevant.
DIAZ: All right. Well, another big story breaking news tonight, Hugh Grant blowing open the British tabloid hacking scandal.
Imagine that President Obama and Hollywood`s biggest stars teamed up to fight a crooked network of tabloid newspapers who were hacking into celebrity phones and stealing all sorts of information.
And what if some cops, even government officials, were in on it? That`s what`s happening right now in England. And today, U.S. senators called for an investigation of Rupert Murdoch to see if his papers here in America have broken laws as they`re accused of doing in England.
Lauren, does this have the potential to rock Hollywood as much as it`s rocking England right now?
LAKE: You know what, Carlos? When I read this story and it was breaking over there, I said to myself, "Oh, my goodness, it`s headed over here," because I smell a rat. If it can happen over there, it can happen over here.
And we need to be very careful and make sure that this type of invasion of privacy, criminal behavior, is not occurring. It could totally rock Hollywood and beyond.
DIAZ: Yes. One of my favorite parts of the whole story, Lauren, is that Hugh Grant says he decided to blow the lid off of this after a paparazzo randomly told him what was going on.
Hugh met up with the guy again, secretly recorded it. Check this out. This is what he told CNN`s Richard Quest.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
HUGH GRANT, ACTOR: I dropped in for a pint and chat and bugged him. I bugged him back. I was wearing a wire and got him talking all this stuff again and I published it all in a British paper, "The New Statesman." And that was the beginning of my sort of obsession with this and my outrage.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Lauren, I`m thinking stars like Julia Roberts and Reese Witherspoon, who have been slamming the paparazzi for years for harassing them, would have been happy to do the same thing Hugh did to strike back. What about you?
LAKE: Would be happy to, Carlos, because you know what? You can dish it out, but can you take it. Now we`re listening and figuring out what you`re doing.
And are you doing the right thing? Are you being on the up and up? Or are you doing something criminal and invasive in terms of our privacy? It`s going to really be interesting.
DIAZ: Lauren Lake, thank you so much.
LAKE: Thank you.
DIAZ: All right. Moving on now, we`re still getting tons of phone calls into our "Showbiz on Call" and posts on Facebook wall tonight about Casey Anthony.
We asked you, should Casey do a tell-all interview? On Facebook, Donna D. says not right now, "I don`t think she`ll let anyone interview her right now. Maybe in another 10 years. By then, by that time, the public anger will have died down."
But Joe calling from Florida says no TV, no interview, no books, no movies, nothing.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
JOE, CALLER FROM FLORIDA: I think everybody should boycott anything she has anything to do with. Any companies that have anything to do with her, boycott it so this woman can`t make any money and she can be broke.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
DIAZ: All right, Joe. Thanks so much. What do you think? Give us a call. The "Showbiz on Call" phone lines are always open. Call us at 1- 888-SBT-BUZZ. That`s 1-888-728-2899. Leave us a voicemail and we`ll play some of your calls right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
Tonight, remarkable news about the fascination with Jaycee Dugard and her incredible new revelations about being kidnapped and held as a sex slave for 18 years.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DUGARD: Why not look at it, you know, stare it down until it can`t scare you anymore?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: But what will Jaycee Dugard do next? SHOWBIZ TONIGHT investigates. Plus Elizabeth Smart`s emotional message today for Jaycee.
Charlie Sheen, his ex, Brooke Mueller, getting back together again?
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BROOKE MUELLER, EX-WIFE OF CHARLIE SHEEN: Sometimes, I really miss Charlie. And seeing him was really hard and it just brought up a lot of old feelings.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Brooke, isn`t this the guy who you accused of holding a knife to your throat? Just saying. I`ve got to say, this could be the biggest of her life. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.
TEXT: Former rapper Vanilla Ice splits from wife of 14 years. Kate Winslet`s HBO miniseries "Mildred Pierce" earns 21 Emmy nominations.

DIAZ: First, Mila Kunis was asked out by a Marine. And now, it`s J.T.`s turn. But will Justin Timberlake say yes? And big, big changes going on in McKinley High for all you Gleeks out there. It`s all in "The Buzz Today."
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over) "Glee" flee! "Glee`s" biggest stars have just revealed they`re leaving the show after this upcoming season. Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith characters will graduate McKinley High and move on.
Lea Michele hit Twitter with the bombshell tweeting, "We always knew we`d graduate in real time. It`s all part of the plan and it`s all good. It`s going to make season three amazing."
Justin and the Marine? Justin Timberlake just got asked to the Marine Corps Ball by Cpl. Kelsey De Santis.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
CPL. KELSEY DE SANTIS, UNITED STATES MARINES: you want to call out my girl, Mila? Well, I`m going to call you out and ask you to come to the Marine Corps Ball with me on November 12th in Washington, D.C.
DIAZ: Mila Kunis accepted another Marine video invitation to the ball after Justin encouraged her during an interview for their movie, "Friends with Benefits." But Kunis hasn`t officially confirmed her filming schedule will allow her to go.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Oh, no. It`s Carmageddon in L.A. this weekend, and the stars talking about it on Twitter to warn us about it. Here`s the deal. It`s no secret that Los Angeles has some of the worst traffic in the world and it`s about to get even worse.
The 405 freeway is closing this weekend for construction. So the City of L.A. asked stars to tweet and remind people to stay off the road.
Tom Hanks writes, "This weekend, L.A., avoid Carmageddon, Gas-zilla, 405-enstein, Grid-lock-apalooza! Stay home, eat and shop local."
Director Kevin Smith, "Los Angeles, the LAPD asked that I remind you the end is nigh as Carmageddon approaches. July 16 through 17, the 405 closed between the 10 and 101."
But CNN`s own Pierce Morgan thinks L.A. traffic is nothing compared to traffic jams in the U.K., "Regarding this whole Carmaggedon nonsense in L.A. this weekend, try coming to London. It`s Carpocalypse there every day."
I`m sorry, Pierce, I respect you, but nothing compares to traffic and nothing compares to the traffic on the 405 that they`re going to shut down.
I`ve got news for you. If they get off on the 10 and they go north of La Cienega, they`re going to hit the Sunset Strip, which means partying is going to be interrupted this weekend and we can`t have that.
And now, the showbiz lineup - here`s what`s coming up at the bottom of the hour right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
The SHOWBIZ Casey Anthony watch continues with the startling Casey Anthony jailhouse tapes. Tonight, do these tapes reveal what Casey may do when she gets out of jail?

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.
(MUSIC)
DIAZ: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It`s 30 minutes past the hour. I`m Carlos Diaz, in for A.J. Hammer with big news breaking tonight - the Casey Anthony jailhouse tapes.
Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT reveals what we are learning from them now that Casey Anthony has been acquitted. The jury actually saw these very tapes during the trial and you have got to hear what we are now learning from them.
With us tonight from Orlando, where Casey Anthony is waiting to be released from jail, is "People" magazine writer, Steve Helling. Also with us tonight in New York is Sunny Hostin, legal contributor for "In Session" on HLN`s sister network, Tru TV.
All right. We were floored today watching these tapes of Casey Anthony in her own words during her three years while she was still waiting in jail to go on trial on charges that she killed her two-year-old daughter, Caylee.
HLN`s Nancy Grace is looking at the incredible tapes all week in a three-part special that ends Friday. Watch Casey, raw and caught, on these tapes, shocking -
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
CASEY ANTHONY: I`ve done everything I can do from where I`m at. I`m sorry. I`ve done everything that I can.
G. ANTHONY: Listen - listen, we can go into protective custody. All of us can be placed in an area and the agencies can come up with a plan to get Caylee safely. Believe me, that can happen. That can happen in a matter of hours.
CASEY ANTHONY: I understand that.
G. ANTHONY: So we just need all the cooperation we can get, sweetheart.
CASEY ANTHONY: I`ve given you guys everything that I have and some. I`ve done everything that I can.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Wow. It almost feels look Casey`s dad, George Anthony, is begging her to confess. Watching that, it`s hard not to imagine all the lives shattered by Casey`s lies.
Sunny, how do you think she is going to handle being despised for all these lies caught on tape over nearly three years?
SUNNY HOSTIN, LEGAL CONTRIBUTOR, "IN SESSION" ON TRU TV: I think it`s going to be very, very difficult for her. I mean, I know people are so outraged by this verdict. They feel that she got away with murder.
They feel that she should be in a prison or put to death, certainly a prison for the rest of her life. But she is going to be in a prison, right? It`s going to be this virtual prison. It`s sort of a prison of public opinion.
I think she`s going to live a life very much like O.J. lived before he got placed back in prison. She`s going to be followed, hounded.
She is infamous. She is all over, not only this country, but I think the world. So this is going to be a very hard, hard life for Casey Anthony.
DIAZ: Well, I can tell you that there are hours of these raw, uncut tapes of Casey Anthony revealing her true self all on tape. And in almost all of them, Casey is talking about herself, not about little Caylee, not about her family. Watch this.
CASEY ANTHONY: I`m being as strong as I can, considering the situation. It`s just hard. It`s just very hard.
CINDY ANTHONY, MOTHER OF CASEY ANTHONY: I know.
CASEY ANTHONY: God, I just want to go home. Every day, I wake up I`m just hoping and praying that I get to go home. I just want to be with you guys. I just want to help find her because I feel a little hopeless. I feel a little helpless here, I mean, honestly.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: All right. Casey will be leaving jail this Sunday, but it sure doesn`t look like she`s going home. She`s not even talking to her parents.
Steve, do you think these tapes give us a clue as to what Casey might do next, how she`s going to handle herself?
HELLING: Well, I think the idea of her going underground is something that we`re going to see happen. But you know, a lot has happened between her and her parents since these tapes were made, so she`s not going to go home.
And she`s not like O.J. in the fact that O.J. Simpson had $25,000 per month in residuals from his work. She doesn`t have that. So she`s going to have to go into underground and she`s not going to have a lot of money to do it.
DIAZ: Right. You make a very good point. I mean, I have to wonder whether even Casey`s own attorneys believe that she is stable. There was big buzz today over what Joy Behar asked one of Casey`s attorneys on "THE JOY BEHAR SHOW" right here on HLN, and how much the attorney squirmed. Check this out.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BEHAR: Would you let Casey baby sit your kids? You say she`s innocent.
SIMS: Well, you know, my kids are older.
BEHAR: Well, let`s say they were younger. Would you leave her with your children?
SIMS: I liked Casey Anthony. I came to trust her, and that`s a really - I felt - the Casey Anthony that I knew, I felt very comfortable with her. I felt the person that I became close to during that trial -
BEHAR: Yes.
SIMS: I felt comfortable with her.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: All right. If you trust somebody, wouldn`t you just answer the question yes or no or something? Sunny, what does it say about Casey`s own lawyer? She won`t even answer the question that you`re comfortable babysitting the kids.
HOSTIN: That`s a tough question for a lawyer. Let`s face it. And I`ve met Dorothy Clay Sims. She`s a lovely, lovely woman.
DIAZ: But is she quick on her feet? I mean, is she usually quick on her feet? Can she not answer that question?
HOSTIN: I don`t let anyone watch my kids, but she certainly was evasive with her answer. Let`s face it. That`s a very typical question.
Some would call it a bit of a low-blow potshot. But I mean, she was evasive, but ultimately answered the question, I think, the way a lawyer should answer the question (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
(CROSS TALK)
DIAZ: I think you`re defending her because you know her. I think - Steve, jump in here. Where am I siding with this one, Steve? I mean, it sounds to me like Joy just asked the million dollar question.
HELLING: Exactly. I mean, in reality most of us would not have Casey Anthony watch our children. But Dorothy Clay Sims couldn`t exactly say that on air. So you know, she gave an answer that was as good as can be expected in that situation.
But I think if we were to get the truth out of her, the answer would be probably not, there are other babysitters out there.
DIAZ: Yes, exactly. And I think Joy needs to be applauded for asking just a dead-on, spot-on question right there. All right. It doesn`t look like Hollywood is going to be in Casey`s future.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can reveal that the Casey hate factor in Hollywood is not going to be calming down any time soon. Celebrities are furious that she`s about to walk free this weekend.
And they talked about it with SHOWBIZ TONIGHT at ESPN`s Espy Awards last night. Watch what "Dancing with the Stars" celebrity Maksim Chmerkovskiy and TV personality Niecy Nash told us.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
NIECY NASH, TV PERSONALITY: Are you glad that Casey Anthony didn`t get released today? Because she would probably out her on the carpet. Huh? I`m just saying, what`s next? You know what I mean? Red carpet, a reality show? Enough already.
MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY, REALITY TV STAR, "DANCING WITH THE STARS": I`m a big fan of a judicial system where - you know, innocent until proven guilty type of thing. But it sound as little fishy.
My message to her is that, you know, she needs to find some really good plastic surgeon. Karma is a bitch, OK? Hence, O.J. Simpson.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Sunny, do they have it right? Everyone is said the same thing about O.J., and now, he`s sitting in prison right now. Is it just a matter of time before Casey gets what so many people think she deserves?
HOSTIN: Well, it`s too soon to tell. But certainly, the O.J. Simpson is the case that everyone is comparing this to. He was the most infamous, famous person that got off in the world. And I think there`s much to be said about that example.
DIAZ: Steve, you`ve got 20 seconds. Is karma going to get Casey?
HELLING: You know, probably. I mean, Karma catches up with all of us. And Casey was not liked before this happened so she doesn`t have a big fan base who is going to be, you know, following after her and trying to help her.
DIAZ: That`s a good point. All right. Sunny, Steve, thanks so much, guys. "People" magazine`s in-depth story on Casey Anthony`s future hits stands nationwide tomorrow.
And you do not want to miss Nancy Grace`s unbelievable special. She will dig even further into what those jailhouse tapes mean. That continues tomorrow.
Incredible news about the fascination with Jaycee Dugard. New revelations from the woman who was held captive for 18 years of her life.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DUGARD: Why not look at it, you know, stare it down until it can`t scare you anymore?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Tonight, what Jaycee may do next. Plus, Elizabeth Smart`s emotional message to Jaycee.
And this is ridiculous. Khloe Kardashian wants to give her sister Kim a dirty bachelorette party and thinks that`s going to embarrass Kim? Is that possible? I mean, this is Kim Kardashian who kicked off her career with a sex tape. Come on, people. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Now, to the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.

DUGARD: There was a studio with a soundproof door and then the other door with the lock.
DIANE SAWYER, ABC CORRESPONDENT: You heard that?
DUGARD: Yes. I can still hear it consciously or when I`m awake. Just some sounds and smells that just don`t leave you.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Wow. That is Jaycee Dugard describing for the very first time in a blockbuster interview just how psychotic her captor hid her away after he snatched her off the streets when she was just 11 years old.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Carlos Diaz. Tonight, all about Jaycee.
There is startling new proof tonight that everyone is just fascinated with Jaycee Dugard. Jaycee`s brand-new heart wrenching revelations to Diane Sawyer about her 18 years of captivity as a sex slave has captured everyone`s attention.
We learned today that the company who published Jaycee`s memoir has just ordered a big second printing. This follows ABC`s near-record ratings and nearly 15 million viewers who tuned in to Diane Sawyer`s exclusive interview.
We also learned today another half million people watched Jaycee`s interview online. Even Diane Sawyer`s brand-new Twitter account hit 10,000 Twitter followers after her interview with Jaycee aired.
And Jaycee`s memoir, "A Stolen Life," sold a whopping 175,000 copies on its first day of release.
With me right now in New York, Lauren Lake, who is an attorney and TV host. And also in New York, Sunny Hostin, who is a legal contributor for "In Session" on Tru TV.
Sunny, I got chills when I saw Jaycee Dugard`s interview with Diane Sawyer. And I cannot believe how she triumphed through tragedy, through so much tragedy. Do you think this is why people are so fascinated with her story?
HOSTIN: Oh, I think there`s no question about it. People are inspired by her resilience, I think, because as you know, Carlos, tried child sex crimes when I was a prosecutor and I`ve seen just the worst of the worst.
And I hate to say this, but these stories don`t have a happy ending. Generally, the children are either just lost forever or they`re dead. And in this case, you have a girl who seems so normal, who seems so well- adjusted, who has gotten back with her family.
And I think there is just sort of not the conventional happy ending because we know what happened to her, right? But certainly, a happy ending, a happier ending than we all could have imagined.
And to see her being interviewed and while she`s telling her terrible story, there are just sort of pieces of it that make you smile because she is so very resilient. And I think there`s inspiration in that.
DIAZ: And I think what`s so astonishing as well, and Sunny, I agree with what you`re saying, is the fact that Jaycee rattles off to Diane from the first week after she was kidnapped more than 18 years ago all these details.
In her interview, Jaycee describes one of the first encounters with her captor. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DUGARD: He comes in with a milkshake. And I was getting used to him coming in, but he said things are going to be different.
SAWYER (on camera): This time?
DUGARD: This time.
SAWYER (voice-over): She is still in handcuffs the first time he rapes her.
DUGARD: I remember crying. But they were silent - just tears running down my face.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Now, Lauren, while the details that Jaycee reveals are so horrific, as a viewer, you can`t help but watch. Why do you think there is such a fascination right now with Jaycee?
LAKE: Because I think it`s absolutely amazing, Carlos, to witness a young woman go through so much tragedy and yet find a way to prevail, find a way to get through it.
And it speaks to the possibility for all of us. We`re living in tough economic times. People are going through things emotionally, spiritually. And the fact that we can watch this young girl rise above her circumstances speaks to the fact that we all can.
And I think that`s why America loves this young girl and we`re so proud of her and happy that she`s back.
DIAZ: Well, Lauren, someone who can relate to exactly what Jaycee went through and her nightmare is Elizabeth Smart, who was kidnapped right out of her bedroom by a psycho back in 2002.
She was rescued nine months later and has become an advocate for missing children. ABC News just hired her as a contributor. And this morning, on "Good Morning America," Elizabeth shared her insight about Jaycee. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ELIZABETH SMART, KIDNAP VICTIM AND ACTIVIST: I think what Jaycee represents and what she shows, what her story shows is that there are still children out there that are waiting to be found.
GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS, ABC CORRESPONDENT: Every single day. What would you say to her if you could?
SMART: I would tell her just how much I admire her and her courage and her strength, for moving forward, for not living in the shadow of her past.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Jaycee is moving forward just like Elizabeth. Sunny, do you think Jaycee should do something similar to what Elizabeth is doing or maybe even solving missing person cases on her own show?
HOSTIN: You know, I think the sky is the limit for her. I have her book here. It is just fascinating. It`s well written because there are pieces in it of her actual writing.
And so I think the sky is the limit for this young girl. This is a life that can go just about anywhere, especially given where she comes from and the perspective.
And certainly, I think there is a place where she can help other people that have gone through similar tragedies and helped find other children.
And so I think that we`re going to hear a lot more from Jaycee Dugard, and I think that the sky is the limit for her.
DIAZ: Lauren, 20 seconds. Do you think Jaycee can be an inspiration?
LAKE: Oh, absolutely. Without a doubt, she already is and she will continue to be. And she`s going to take the time she needs for herself and for her family. And I know that she`s going to come back and help other children in the same position.
DIAZ: Lauren Lake, Sunny Hostin, thanks guys so much. Now, I want to hear from you. It`s our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll. "Casey Anthony: Who should she do her first TV tell-all interview with?" Nancy Grace, Casey Couric, Oprah, Diane Sawyer or Barbara Walters?
I`ve got to tell you, "Showbiz on Call" phone lines are already on fire about this. We`ve got a call from Christine in Oklahoma. She says there is one clear choice for Casey Anthony`s first interview.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
CHRISTINE, CALLER FROM OKLAHOMA: Well, I think it would be a great idea for Nancy Grace to be Casey`s first interview. That would be so amazing, because - well, because I think she`d get answers from her.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
DIAZ: Thanks for your call, Christine. Next, Kim Kardashian`s dirty bachelorette party. Her sister, Khloe, says she plans to embarrass her big sis with sexy toys shaped like male parts.
But come on now, this is Kim Kardashian we`re talking about, the Kim Kardashian whose career kicked off with a sex tape. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.
TEXT: Kat Von D and Jesse James` romance to be documented on upcoming season of "L.A. Ink." First time Emmy nominees: "Boardwalk Empire,` "Game of Thrones," "Friday Night Lights."

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Stan, is this supposed to be the package?
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Yes, I think so.
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: The only problem with that is you`re playing 4-3 on it. You`ve got a practice planned for this afternoon?
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: I can rough something out.
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: We`ve got a game in three days. I do not like the way this is starting out. I do not like the way this is starting out. Turn off that damn radio.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
DIAZ: Kim Kardashian better brace herself. Her sister, Khloe, has just revealed planning a monster bachelorette party for Kim.
And in a brand-new interview today, she says she`s going to make sure she embarrasses the dickens out of Kim. Wait until you hear what she`s planning on doing.
Joining me tonight is Cathy Areu, who is the publisher of "Catalina" magazine.
So Khloe Kardashian tells "People.com" she plans on making Kim`s bachelorette party especially memorable saying, "My bachelorette party was embarrassing with penis straws, everything penis-themed."
"Kim is very uncomfortable with all that stuff so I`m going to go all out and embarrass her because it`s just fun."
Cathy, let me get straight to this, all right? Kim Kardashian stars in a sex videotape that basically made her famous. She posed naked for "Playboy" and she`s got a sister who says she`s going to shy away from a penis straw. I don`t think so. I`m not buying it. Are you?
CATHY AREU, PUBLISHER, "CATALINA" MAGAZINE: No. I can`t wait to see what will embarrass Kim Kardashian or any of the Kardashians. I mean, they had glitter-covered horses at the engagement party. So what on earth can they possibly do -
DIAZ: I`m talking about a situation where you`ve got a girl who most of America has seen naked. So how can you go, "Ah, penis straws! Oh, no!"
AREU: We`re going to embarrass the girl with the sex tape at her bachelorette party. Yes, I don`t think it`s possible but I can`t wait to see them try.
DIAZ: Another story making big news tonight - it`s Charlie Sheen reuniting with his ex-wife, Brooke Mueller. Oh, come on. Brooke is Paris Hilton`s neighbor on her reality show, "The World According to Paris" on Oxygen."
Brooke heads over to Charlie`s house and doesn`t return for 24 hours. When she does return, she looks out of it and confused. Watch this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MUELLER: Sometimes, I really miss Charlie and seeing him was really hard. And it just brought up a lot of old feelings that`s causing me to be confused on what I want and what I don`t want anymore.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Confused? I mean, Charlie has got "womanizing" written all over him. Let`s not forget the allegations that he put a knife to Brooke`s throat.
Cathy, I think going back with Charlie would be the biggest mistakes of Brooke`s life. Are you with me?
AREU: Oh, my god. Absolutely, but it seems like she is either certifiably insane or on drugs. So -
DIAZ: Well, we can confirm neither by the way, thank you.
AREU: But it takes someone who is extremely odd to invite someone like Charlie Sheen into their lives. So I`d have to say she`s extremely odd.
Who would invite Charlie Sheen, who has had two goddesses in his life recently, back into their lives as a husband, boyfriend, lover, whatever? It`s just not right. She`s just not right.
DIAZ: Yes. Well, I`ve got to say, I mean, I don`t want to give Charlie too many props. But you`ve got to have serious game to have those goddesses and all that history. And then your ex come over and she goes, "I`m so confused."
I mean, I don`t know what he`s doing, but he`s doing it right. Cathy, thank you so much.
All right. That`s SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Carlos Diaz. Remember, you can watch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusively Monday to Friday at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific right here on HLN.
