Hello. I`m Carlos Diaz, in for A.J. Hammer with big news breaking tonight - Casey cashing in?
When Casey Anthony gets out of jail this Sunday, she is likely to walk out with more money in her pocket than when she was brought in.
And what seems more mind-boggling is that the money was sent to her by people who wanted to make sure she had some extra cash to spend so she`d be comfortable while she`s locked up.
And if that`s not enough, Casey`s attorney dropped another bombshell today. They appealed her conviction on charges that she lied to police during the investigation. What the heck is that about?
Let`s take you to the HLN all-stars who have been bringing you the biggest and best coverage of the Casey Anthony case right here on HLN.
In Orlando tonight is Jane Velez-Mitchell host of "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL," every weeknight at 7:00 p.m. Eastern on HLN. Joining us here from Atlanta, Vinnie Politan who is back from Orlando where he covered every day of the Casey Anthony trail. Vinnie is the host of "HLN SPECIAL REPORT" seen at 5:00 p.m. Eastern, followed by "PRIME NEWS."
And in Los Angeles tonight is Dr. Drew Pinsky, host of "THE DR. DREW SHOW" seen every night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern right here on HLN.
All right. I have to throw this bombshell out, the bombshell appeal news to you, Jane, because it seems there is no doubt that Casey is a liar. How can they possibly get the lying convictions thrown out?
JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HOST, "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL": Well, it`s absolutely crazy, Carlos, but this is a Hail Mary pass they have to throw because it`s all about the money.
You`re absolutely right. Jose Baez admitted in his opening statement that Casey is a big fat liar. She lied about Zanny. She lied about her job, on and on and on.
But the investigators say they want their money back. Law enforcement investigators spent many, many tens, maybe even hundreds of thousands of dollars looking for a living child based on what Casey Anthony told them, that a nanny had stolen and kidnapped the child.
Now, they`re saying that want that money back. And so Casey, if she makes money on a TV interview, might have to give it all to law enforcement. And that`s why they want to overturn these convictions and they`re that hoping maybe on a technicality.
DIAZ: So Vinnie, do you agree with Jane that money is the big issue right here?
VINNIE POLITAN, HOST, "HLN SPECIAL REPORT": It`s a couple of things. I think it`s money. I also think it`s the civil litigation that`s out there. You know what? If you`ve still got an appeal on a criminal case, you may able to avoid being deposed in a civil case.
So there may be a two-prong approach here. And a lot of criminal convictions are appealed. In this case, why not do it? She`s not paying for it, right? She`s claiming she doesn`t have any money so someone else will be paying for it.
DIAZ: Well, Casey will be going free in less than 48 hours with that extra cash sent to her by strangers. So what cash will she have when she goes free?
Earlier today, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT obtained court documents detailing how much money Casey`s fan fans donated to her while she sat in jail.
Get a load of this Casey received a total of $470, with most people writing her checks for, 10 or 20 bucks apiece. We also learned from the court documents how Casey spent her cash at the commissary while she sat in jail.
On June 16th, she spent $66.42 on things like a chicken breast sandwich, nacho chips, deodorant, Chapstick, pony tail holders and mascara. Now, the money Casey got from her supporters won`t get her very far.
Dr. Drew, what do you think she can possibly do to support herself when she walks out of jail on Sunday?
DR. DREW PINSKY, HOST, "THE DR. DREW SHOW": Well, you`ve already reported on people offering her money for interviews. And Jane was talking about the fact that she`s likely to have media reports.
But the fact is, the only justice that there might be is the fact that the law enforcement is going to attempt to recoup some of their losses. I mean, that at least is some sense of justice.
As far as the money she`s getting in jail, I`ve encountered recently a small but growing and very combative population of people that are Casey supporters now and they identify with her as a victim of the system.
And they`re doing everything they can to support her, including sending her money. And I think we haven`t seen the end of this. I think there will be more.
DIAZ: Is that human nature, Dr. Drew, you have somebody who is being dumped on by everybody, that you`re going to have a group of people that will come forward and say, "Hey, we support her"?
PINSKY: I guess so. I mean, that`s what we`re really seeing in this case overall. People identify with all sorts of aspects of the Casey Anthony case because there is so much mystery. There is so much unknown. There is so much that`s inexplicable.
We sort of pour our own issues into it. And here, there are people now who are extremely combative about this idea that she has been victimized by all of us.
DIAZ: Well, one thing Casey can do to support herself is an interview that has been offered her for $1 million. Jane, I know you talked to the producer on your HLN show, "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL," last night. This guy`s name is Al Taylor.
He claims to you that he has investors putting up the money to pay Casey. And he even addressed all the Casey haters right off the bat. Let`s watch what he told you.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
AL TAYLOR, CLAIMING TO HAVE INVESTORS TO PAY FOR CASEY ANTHONY`S FIRST INTERVIEW (through telephone): I`m going to say to all the haters out there she was found not guilty so she deserves the million dollars to tell her story.
And we`re going to make her earn it, Jane. This isn`t going to be some soft ball interview. We`re going to drill her like a bad piece of fish. We`re going to double the money.
So we`re going to end up syndicating this throughout the world. And that way, we`ll make the money back that way. Even if we never make a penny out of the United States, I`ve already got deals cooking in Germany, Australia, England and all these other countries.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: "I`m going to grill her like a bad fish." Jane, is it not so farfetched this could actually happen?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I don`t know, Carlos, if he actually has the investors he claims to have and the million dollars he claims to have.
But if he does, it actually makes sense because he doesn`t care about the backlash. He has formed his own production company for the purpose of selling this story around the world.
And so he doesn`t care if he`s got a bunch of people screaming and yelling and saying, "I`m going to boycott you," because it`s irrelevant.
So he gets the interview, hypothetically, and then he sells it all over the world, as he said, to Germany, Latin America, Japan, anywhere.
And then he can give it away for free in the United States. And that would allow the news media in the United States to air it without fear of backlash because they would not have paid for it.
So actually, when you think about it in a kind of twisted way, it all comes together.
DIAZ: Yes. But Vinnie, this guy has a chance to actually make money off this interview. Correct?
POLITAN: Yes, of course he will.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes. Yes.
POLITAN: That`s his whole business plan. And I think he`s allowed to do that if he wants. I don`t know if she`s going to sign up with this guy or do the interview with another entity here in the United States.
We know that she got $200,000 from one of the networks before she was found not guilty. So why not get $1 million dollars from someone after she`s found not guilty.
DIAZ: Yes. Well, people like Casey - you know, they`re cleared of crimes. They`re free to cash in at any time. It might not be so easy for the jurors, though.
A Florida lawmaker has just proposed jurors banning jurors from selling their stories within 270 days of serving on a jury.
Think about that. If this law is passed on the day that Casey Anthony was found not guilty, she can run out of the courtroom and do an interview for $1 million while the jury would have to wait nine months before they could. Dr. Drew, does this seem right to you?
PINSKY: I think this law is probably a good idea. We`re hearing these stories about people actually manipulating their peers on juries in order to get the story to go a certain way, in order to have an opportunity to tell something dramatic when they get out of the courtroom.
We need people to do their civic duty dispassionately without being adulterated by these sorts of concerns. And it`s a nine-month window. It`s not that big a deal. I think it`s a reasonable thing.
DIAZ: Jane, 10 seconds. Do you agree with this law?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, I think it`s good in spirit. But unfortunately, it opens a Pandora`s box. When you start saying, "You can`t talk about this," what`s next?
Oh, then they`ll try to tell jurors, "You can`t talk at all." And next thing you know, we`re threatening a free society. That`s part of the danger and part of the price we pay for freedom, is that people can do inappropriate things in terms of free expression.
DIAZ: Well, Jane, since Casey was acquitted, there has been so much criticism targeted at jury members. And this morning on "Good Morning America", the jury foreman really opened up about the moment when that not- guilty verdict was read out loud.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE, JURY FOREMAN IN THE CASEY ANTHONY CASE: It was very hard. I sat there with those sheets in front of me and my heart was beating, you know, a thousand times a minute.
And it was very, very emotional. Everyone was silent. The evidence wasn`t there and we had this overwhelming sense that we may have let people down.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Is it wrong to vilify these jurors? Jane, Dr. Drew, Vinnie, stay right where you are. All right. The countdown to Casey Anthony`s freedom continues tonight with the unbelievable story of a woman who was brutally attacked because she looks like Casey Anthony.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: She hit me again causing my vehicle to flip two and a half times landing on the driver`s side. She said that I was trying to hurt babies. I was killing babies and she was going to stop it.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
DIAZ: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Carlos Diaz. Tonight, Casey Anthony`s secret signals, from her eye rolling to her crocodile tears. What does Casey Anthony`s body language during the trial tell us? And did she expect to be found not guilty?
Joining me now is body language expert, Lillian Glass. I want to start out with the tearful moment in court when Casey seems overwhelmed by the testimony. Her mother is talking about how Casey cared for Caylee. Take a look.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JOSE BAEZ, CASEY ANTHONY`S ATTORNEY: And Caylee never went without food or shelter or anything that she ever needed in life?
CINDY ANTHONY, FATHER OF CASEY ANTHONY: No, she had everything.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: There`s Casey wiping away the tears. There was a lot of talk during the trial that Casey`s tears may have just been a show for the jury. Lillian, what`s your take?
LILLIAN GLASS, BODY LANGUAGE EXPERT: They were. They were false tears. They were alligator tears. And when you wipe away a tear, there`s usually liquid. There was no liquid there. She would just wipe away a spot under her eye and it was really ridiculous.
DIAZ: One of the most talked about moments of the trial was when Cindy Anthony left the stand and mouthed the words "I love you" to her daughter. Casey`s reaction, an eye roll.
Now, we`re hearing Casey did not let her mother visit her in jail. Does this prove the relationship is now completely broken?
GLASS: It is definitely broken. And I don`t think they can really repair it, because there`s so much push-pull between the two of them. And it`s such a toxic relationship. It will never be healed in my view.
DIAZ: Well, now, for the grand finale, the verdict. Let`s take a look at Casey`s reaction when the verdict was read.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: As to the charge of first degree murder, verdict as to count one, we, the jury find the defendant not guilty. As to the charge of aggravated child abuse, verdict as to count two, we, the jury find the defendant not guilty.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: I think it`s an obvious sign of relief but can you tell from her reaction if the verdict surprised her?
GLASS: It shocked her. Casey had no idea this would happen, and she`s overwhelmed by this. This is the only real emotion she`s showing.
DIAZ: That`s a good point. And a lot of people were upset when they saw this - a giddy Casey Anthony. What do you make of her being so - just laughing and being happy and giddy?
GLASS: She got away with something else again.
DIAZ: Well, that`s a good point. And as you said, real emotion right there after she was off the hook.
GLASS: Exactly.
DIAZ: Lillian Glass, thank you so much. I appreciate it.
GLASS: Thank you, Carlos.
DIAZ: Moving on now to a shocking murder plot against British singer, Joss Stone. The 24-year-old was allegedly targeted by two men who have now been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and grievous bodily harm.
The two men were arrested in June near Joss` home. Now, for the first time Joss is speaking out to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT about the scary incident and how she handled the whole thing.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JOSS STONE, SINGER: The thing is, the things that have happened to me in my life - my life`s been actually quite interesting. I`ve been in this industry now for like 10 years and so many weird things happen.
So another weird thing is just another weird thing. You just go, "OK, that`s weird. Interesting." And it`s a little bit like living in a movie. It`s like Sherlock Holmes - see, that`s what the moment - my mind went to Sherlock Holmes with that.
OK. So let me figure this one out. I didn`t really get upset and cry all night long. I just thought, OK, maybe I`ll lock my door now.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Yes. I`m thinking it`s probably a good idea. I`m glad she`s all right. Joss` new album, "LP1" comes out July 26th.
Is Casey Anthony posing nude for "Playboy"? Tonight Hugh Hefner sets the record straight about whether or not he`s offering the most hated mom in America a "Playboy" spread.

This morning, the couple struck back at all the outrage slamming their completely legal relationship. It`s legal because Courtney`s parents actually approved it. Check out how Doug and Courtney defended themselves this morning on "Good Morning America."
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HUTCHINSON: Oh, yes.
STODDEN: He fell in love with me.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Do you think marrying Doug will help your career?
STODDEN: If it does, you know, that`s just another beautiful blessing that got handed to me. But if I`m just with him for the rest of my life and supporting him, that would make me happy, too.
HUTCHISON: People are welcome to their opinions. That`s what the world is about. If they - if they need to feel this way, that`s theirs to hold, not ours.

DIAZ: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It`s 30 minutes past the hour. I`m Carlos Diaz, in for A.J. Hammer, with big news breaking tonight - Casey Anthony just two days away from being a free woman.
And you want to watch HLN this Sunday for the most complete coverage of Casey Anthony`s release from jail. But tonight, target Casey, a disturbing new sign that Casey Anthony might be a target when she gets out of jail.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT learned today that a young mom in Oklahoma, Sammay Blackwell, said she was attacked just because someone thought she was Casey Anthony.
Blackwell says her attacker followed her from work and rammed into her car twice after mistaking her for Casey. It`s an unbelievable and horrifying story. Listen.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SAMMAY BLACKWELL, CASEY ANTHONY LOOK-ALIKE: She hit me again, causing my vehicle to flip two and a half times landing on the driver`s side. And I just laid there playing dead.
She said that I was trying to hurt babies, I was killing babies and she was going to stop it before it happened again.
DEBBIE SMITH, SAMMAY BLACKWELL`S MOTHER: I got to her. She was crying. She was shaking. She says, "Mama, this lady thinks I`m Casey Anthony. She tried to kill me."
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: If you think that`s unbelievable, listen to this. Blackwell`s daughter is named Caylee. Wow. Right now, we`re going to bring back our HLN all-stars who have bringing you the biggest and best coverage of the Casey Anthony case right here on HLN.
In Orlando tonight is Jane Velez-Mitchell, host of "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL," every weeknight at 7:00 p.m. Eastern right here on HLN.
With us in Atlanta is Vinnie Politan who just got back from Orlando where he was covering every day of the Casey Anthony trial. Vinnie is the host of "HLN SPECIAL REPORT" seen at 5:00 p.m. Eastern, followed by "PRIME NEWS."
And in Los Angeles tonight, it`s Dr. Drew Pinsky, host of "THE DR. DREW SHOW" seen every night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern right here on HLN.
All right. Police have arrested Blackwell`s alleged attacker and charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon among other charges.
Take a look real quick here. There`s a loose resemblance between her and Casey, but I got to throw it out to my panel.
Jane, if this is what happens to a woman who looks like Casey Anthony, can you imagine what might be in store for the real Casey Anthony when she gets out of jail on Sunday?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Oh, they have to be very careful. Jose Baez has said he fears for her safety. And I`ve seen this with so many mega-trials. I call it "the woodwork effect."
Weirdoes start coming out of the woodwork. They`re drawn by all the negative excitement in this case and they feel like if they get close to it or do something involved with it in some way, shape or form that somehow they`re involved with something important.
And of course, nothing could be further from the truth. These are dangerous people. And it just shows you that there`s a lot of nuts out there.
DIAZ: Yes, exactly. The thing is Blackwell is not the on one caught up in the anti-Casey hysteria. We also learned today there`s a guy in Pennsylvania who claims he`s being harassed online because he happens to be named Casey Anthony.
It`s a guy. Now, Blackwell, the woman who was attacked, said she`s worried about anyone who resembles Casey in any way, shape or form. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BLACKWELL: I don`t look that much like her, so what about people who actually do look like her and live closer to Florida instead of Oklahoma? What`s going to happen to those people?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Dr. Drew, does Blackwell have a point here? Are you afraid that people are going to start seeing people this look like Casey and they`re angry at the verdict, and all of a sudden, they take the law into their own hands?
PINSKY: Well, you have evidence of that. In fact it`s happening. And it`s not only Casey. It`s the vortex she has created and people who get sucked into that vortex.
And the frenzy and the aggression that has come out in the public because of this case is really rather astonishing.
I keep saying there` something akin to a blood lust here where people need a catharsis in order to feel that something appropriate is done because of this case. But boy, guys, vigilante justice is not the way to do it.
DIAZ: Well, not at all. And I think everyone agrees with statement right there. Casey`s attorneys have said they`re worried about Casey`s safety.
Of course, 16 years ago, O.J. Simpson was in the same boat, set free after a murder many people thought he committed. He shunned and kicked out of a restaurant or two.
But as far as we know, there wasn`t a serious attack against him. But Vinnie, let`s be honest, man. I mean, O.J. is a big dude. I mean, you know, you can`t - you know, Casey is a tiny person. Does Casey have more to worry about than O.J. who is a professional football player?
POLITAN: Yes, it`s interesting. You know, is she in danger? I think part of danger is going to be, what`s her life going to be like? She`s only 25 years old. She`s got a long way to go.
And I think more of the danger may not be like physical assault. It will just be people that want to get close to her for whenever reason and those aren`t good reasons.
And I think that`s going to be the biggest danger that she`ll face, is that people want to be close to and associate with Casey Anthony for their own purposes. And those purposes will not clearly be helpful to Casey Anthony.
DIAZ: Well, let`s move on to more breaking news right now about Casey Anthony. Today, the Casey Anthony jury foreman made the strongest statement we`ve heard from any juror about how the jury feels it saw the Casey Anthony case.
The foreman, who is a 38-year-old high school football coach, was on "Good Morning America" this morning. And he told Ashleigh Banfield he`s not happy to see that Casey is walking out of jail a free woman on Sunday. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We had this overwhelming sense that we may have let people down.
ASHLEIGH BANFIELD, CORRESPONDENT, "GOOD MORNING AMERICA": When you were finally able to watch TV and you found out Casey was getting out on Sunday, how did you feel?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I was shocked. I was shocked. I thought it would be longer. It`s a shame. It really is.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Lately, we`ve seen juror after juror go on TV seemingly regretting their verdict but also defending it saying there wasn`t enough evidence. Jane, is it fair to say that some people are vilifying this jury and it`s obviously agonizing them right now?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, listen, I don`t think they should be attacked in any way, shape or form. I respect their decision.
But it does strike me as very curious they`re all saying now that, "Oh, I was sick to my stomach and I find this decision -" they`re the ones who made the decision.
DIAZ: And Jane -
VELEZ-MITCHELL: So I basically have to say I don`t think they really did their homework.
DIAZ: But are you amazed they`re coming back and saying that they feel, you know, bad about the decision yet they didn`t take the necessary amount of time that they could have taken? I mean, they could have taken a lot more time in deliberating the case.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I would have respected the decision a lot more had they spent a couple more days on it. We saw more than 350 pieces of evidence. We saw six weeks of testimony.
There`s no way they could have even waded into all of that in the amount of time, less than 11 hours. So I really feel that they didn`t do their homework. And now, I think they made a rash decision and now they`re regretting it.
DIAZ: Dr. Drew, this is right up your alley. I mean, psychologically, when you have a juror who makes a decision who maybe rushes to a decision, is it kind of like buyer`s remorse? They think to themselves, "Maybe we should have thought about it a little bit longer."
PINSKY: Look, it`s easy in retrospect to side with the crowd. You know, everyone is vilifying Casey and they get out now and see more evidence that they`re weren`t allowed to see in court.
The fact is I`ve talked to several of the jury consultants on this case, and they all said the same thing. When they chose this jury, they were looking for independent thinkers who weren`t going to be swayed in their opinion by the fact they knew this was going to be an unpleasant and unpopular decision.
They knew it. They didn`t believe the case the prosecution put out there based on the evidence as they saw it. That was that. They`re backpedaling a little bit now to save face. I understand that, particularly given the frenzy that they`re facing in the world.
DIAZ: Well, today, on "Good Morning America," the foreman said something we`ve heard over and over again about the Casey Anthony verdict, not guilty does not mean innocent. Watch this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BANFIELD: Do you think she is innocent?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I think she played a hand in something. We just doesn`t know what, whether it was a cover-up, whether it was an act.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Vinnie, you`ve heard this time and time again from people, saying - part of the jury saying she wasn`t - we don`t think that she was guilty. We don`t think she was innocent. We just don`t think that she was - that the prosecution gave a great case, right?
POLITAN: Yes, that`s what they`re saying. And me as a former prosecutor, the way I look at it is the way I hope all prosecutors are looking at this, trying to get through to jurors so they understand what you can prove with circumstantial evidence and how to explain that to a jury and explain to them like Cheney Mason did on the other side about reasonable doubt, that it`s reasonable doubt, OK?
It`s got to be reasonable. And I think that`s part of the lesson and, hopefully, prosecutors will address it more directly knowing a jury can do what this jury did. We don`t want to vilify them, but we can disagree and try to figure out a better way to prosecute someone that is obviously guilty.
DIAZ: Vinnie, great points as always. Jane, Vinnie, Dr. Drew, thanks so much, guys.

Outrageous news about Drew Peterson, the former cop accused of killing his wife. He wants to stop a movie about him because he says it will defame his character. Seriously? Does this guy even have a case?
Tonight, Kim K.`s mom goes under the knife. She`s willing to pay any price to look her best for this summer`s epic wedding.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Don`t cry. Mom, you`re going to be fine.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Why is she crying?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You know, if you`re scared, you don`t have to do it, you know?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Does Kris Jenner really need plastic surgery? And do the Kardashians have to put everything on camera? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.
TEXT: Kate Hudson names son Bingham "Bing" Hawn Bellamy. Neil Patrick Harris on being a new father on-screen and off -
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
NEIL PATRICK HARRIS, ACTOR: It was kind of nice because when I got the scripts, we were just starting the process. So I found that all very intriguing the way the stars were aligning, that I was going to get a chance to play a father to be and was going to actually be a father-to-be.
It was nice to have this moment to look at the ultrasound pictures and actually know what that feels like, you know.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Carlos Diaz. Tonight, Drew`s demand. Drew Peterson, that former cop accused of killing his wife, is trying to stop a Lifetime TV movie being made about him.
Rob Lowe will play Drew. And get a load of this - Peterson wants to put the kibosh on the whole thing because he thinks the movie is going to defame his character. Come on. Didn`t Drew Peterson defame Drew Peterson?
Joining me right now in New York is Midwin Charles who is an attorney for Midwin Charles and Associates. And right now, in Hollywood, my good friend, Pat Lalama, who is an investigative journalist.
Drew Peterson was really ticked off that Lifetime is making a movie about his life and he wants them to pull the plug on it. We learned today that his lawyer just sent a letter to Lifetime saying they have no right to use his image, his likeness or anything else in a movie without permission.
Midwin, doesn`t this seem absurd to you that he`s worried now about being defamed? Or does he actually have a case?
MIDWIN CHARLES, ATTORNEY, MIDWIN CHARLES AND ASSOCIATES: Well, he might have a case. I mean, I can understand if he believes that he is being slandered by this movie because he`s being depicted as someone who may have had a hand in the death of one of his many wives.
But this is what lawyers do when they are called to duty by clients. If a client asks them to send a cease and desist letter, that`s exactly what they`re going to do.
But I suspect that the network is not going to have a problem in putting this movie on. I mean, after all, if they do not use his likeness, use an actor, I think it`s going to go forward.
DIAZ: You have to wonder, by the way, if this gets huge ratings and what that means for a possible Casey Anthony movie.
I want to move on to another story right now making big news today - Casey Anthony`s disguise. How will she walk out of jail Sunday without anyone noticing?
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT will have to ask this question and take pages from Hollywood`s book. Kate Moss is an example of a traditional celebrity with a hat and sunglasses disguise, which works OK if you`re Kate moss.
Jennifer Aniston kicked it up a notch with a hat, sunglasses and a great big fan over her face. But we`re really wondering if the traditional hat and sunglasses thing would work for the most hated woman in America.
She should maybe, I don`t know, do a Lady Gaga thing and just shroud herself in fabric. Pat, are you with me?
PAT LALAMA, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST: Well, I`ll tell you what. I can`t imagine what she`s going to have to do to obscure herself from the public.
But can I just take a moment to plead with the public to let cooler heads prevail? Really, the bigger issue is that she shouldn`t have to be concerned about her safety or a mob mentality.
She was acquitted. So be it. We may hate her but we`ve got to leave her alone. And I`m hoping that (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
(CROSS TALK)
DIAZ: But Pat, you heard the story today. Pat -
LALAMA: There`s my little lecture for the day.
DIAZ: I know. But Pat, there was a woman today that got run off the road because she looked like her. I mean -
CHARLES: That`s insane.
DIAZ: That`s my point.
LALAMA: I hate to make light of it - I hate to make light it, but a friend of mine, a producer in Las Vegas says he hears she`s going that way so maybe she`ll be an Elvis impersonator. Who knows?
DIAZ: Well, we joke, but seriously, how can Casey possibly live her life after she gets out of jail on Sunday if she doesn`t wear a disguise? Midwin, what are your thoughts?
CHARLES: Well, there a lot of people who really don`t care how she lives her life, you know, if she wears a disguise. But in terms of disguising herself, I`d say she should go blond.
DIAZ: OK. There you go. But she`s done that before. We`ve seen pictures of her blond, short hair, that kind of thing -
CHARLES: Yes.
DIAZ: But then, every woman that is blond and short-haired is going to be saying, "Oh, my gosh. I`ve got to worry about getting run off the road."
CHARLES: Well, I hope so. I hope that people are not as angry at her as we think they are and that they`re not going to do anything violent.
DIAZ: Well, she`s definitely in the hot seat, Casey Anthony. People hate her. Even a porn company that offered her a gig withdrew it.
And Hugh Hefner just told CNN`s Piers Morgan there`s no way - no way he would ever consider Casey posing for "Playboy."
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
HUGH HEFNER, FOUNDER, "PLAYBOY" MAGAZINE: It is amazing the number of people that have tweeted me immediately afterward asking whether or not we would do a pictorial and et cetera and the answer is simply no. I wouldn`t reward someone like that for what has happened.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Pat, if the sex industry won`t take Casey, who will?
LALAMA: Well, here`s my point about this, and I applaud him for not doing it. But he talks about the thousands of people who wanted to know. Who are those sniveling pervs sitting around wondering when are they going to see Casey Anthony naked?
I mean, I`m just wondering, if they`re watching her naked, are they also thinking, "Gee, I wonder if she killed her young child"? I`m disgusted by the number of people who are even asking the darn question.
CHARLES: Well, can I jump in, Carlos?
DIAZ: Yes.
CHARLES: I`m not surprised - I mean, for Hugh Hefner to say that he`s not going to reward her for bad behavior - that`s something that "Playboy" does all the time. That`s probably why those requests are coming in.
"Playboy" is no stranger to rewarding women who have behaved badly and then they end up on the cover of the magazine.
DIAZ: Yes, but I`ve got to agree with Pat on this one.
LALAMA: Not in this - not in this case.
DIAZ: I appreciate a beautiful woman, but that`s creepy.
CHARLES: It`s creepy. It is creepy, but it`s not unusual for people to ask the question.
DIAZ: Hugh Hefner also told Piers Morgan that he had absolutely no idea Krystal Harris was going to leave him at the altar. Really? You, no idea that a 25-year-old blond bombshell might leave your 85-year-old saggy butt?
Well, Pat, Midwin, is Hugh delusional? We`ll have that coming up next, all right?
Next, Kim Kardashian`s mom goes under the knife to look good for her daughter`s epic summer wedding.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: We love you.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I love you, mom.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Love you. See you all later.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Mom, you look so fab. It looks gorgeous.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Now, that`s love. Most moms would just try to lose a few pounds. No. She goes under the knife. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.
TEXT: Final "Harry Potter" movie breaks record for midnight release, earns $43.5 million. SHOWBIZ first look: "Contagion" trailer.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED ACTRESS: The average person touches their face three to five times every waking hour. Two to three, touching door knobs, water fountains and each other.
UNIDENTIFIED CHILD ACTRESS: Mom -
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: We have the virus, no treatment protocol and no vaccine at this time.
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: He had a seizure this morning, Beth(ph).
(CROSS TALK)
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: No, no, no, no.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JENNER: I`ve never had such a stressful morning honestly in my entire life.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Don`t cry. Mom, you`re going to be fine.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Why are you crying?
JENNER: I`m scared.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: She`s scared? So are we. Kim Kardashian`s mom, Kris Jenner, gets a face lift just in time for Kim`s wedding and the whole thing is caught on tape. Really, Kris? I mean, really?
So what`s more bombastic, the fact that Kris Jenner let her face lift be shot for an episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" or the fact that she`s actually getting a face lift for her daughter`s wedding.
Back with me right now in New York, Midwin Charles, and in Hollywood, Pat Lalama.
Pat, what do you think is more bombastic? I mean, getting a facelift just for your daughter`s wedding is pretty outrageous.
LALAMA: What`s bombastic is that so many people care. That`s what I`ve got to say about that. I mean, what are these people like, you know, royalty in the United States?
I`ll tell you what I like. I read an article today about Steve Buscemi who says he refuses to fix his teeth. They`re just the way they`re going to be. Kirsten Dunst said the same thing.
And I`m with those people. Those are the kind of weddings I want to go to. I don`t give a rat`s behind what she does with her face.
DIAZ: I don`t know what Steve Buscemi has to do with Kris Jenner. Let`s move on to more outrageous things today -
LALAMA: Didn`t you get what I`m trying to say?
DIAZ: I get what you`re saying, Pat. You and I are right here. We`re good friends. All right. Hugh Hefner did his first interview after being dumped his 25-year-old fiancee just days before the wedding.
Hef told CNN`s Piers Morgan he had no idea that he`d be left at the altar.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
HEFNER: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) to the marriage. You know, something was not right, but I didn`t see it coming. I mean, I truly didn`t see it coming.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Eighty-five years old - is he being delusional that he should be surprised that a 25-year-old would dump him? Midwin Charles, your thoughts?
CHARLES: You know, that`s the irony of it all. You see this 85-year- old man saying, "I don`t know what happened." Like, really? Just look at you, dude, like, you`re 85 and she`s 25.
Perhaps, that`s what happened. Perhaps she woke and realized what she was getting herself into and did not want another Anna Nicole Smith situation.
DIAZ: Pat, go ahead. Pat, speak. Go ahead.
LALAMA: But Midwin - Midwin, look, the whole point is, his love life is so contrived. It`s like - it`s as contrived as an episode of "Jersey Shore."
We all know it`s to keep the empire alive so these no-talent gold diggers can dream and so that men who are bored with their wives can live vicariously through him thinking they have a shot at a hot, young chick.
(CROSS TALK)
CHARLES: He`s almost like a joke at this point. I mean, don`t even think anyone ever takes him seriously. I mean, it`s almost like he`s a joke at this point. I don`t see how -
LALAMA: I agree.
CHARLES: I don`t see how he`s going to salvage marriages in America.
DIAZ: Pat - Pat, should Hef get remarried?
LALAMA: What`s the question?
DIAZ: All right. We`re done. That`s it. Should Hef get remarried? You`ve got 10 seconds?
LALAMA: Who cares?
DIAZ: Thank you, Pat.
LALAMA: I don`t care, sorry.
DIAZ: Midwin, take -
CHARLES: No, no.
DIAZ: OK, great. I`m exhausted. Pat Lalama, Midwin Charles, thank you so much.
That`s SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Carlos Diaz. I`m going to towel off now. You can catch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusively Monday through Friday at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific right here on HLN.
