Hello, I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with big news breaking tonight -- did she have to die?
Could anything have been done to save the life of Amy Winehouse? An autopsy was done today and investigators say they may not know what killed her until they get the lab test results in a few weeks.
But SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you there were more than enough warning signs that Winehouse might become the latest member of the so-called "Forever 27 Club." We`re talking about superstar musicians who died at the age of 27.
Tonight, we`re going to be looking into the mystery of the "27 Club" and Hollywood`s biggest stars are sharing their emotional thoughts on her death. But was this really a death that was destined to happen?
Or could anything have been done so that maybe, just maybe, Amy Winehouse would have written a song with the lyrics, "They tried to make me go to rehab and I said yes, yes, yes"?
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(MUSIC)
(voice-over) We saw today that the death of Amy Winehouse is following a tragic script we`ve seen all too often. The world reacts with sadness, but not exactly surprise --
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I am speculating her death on Saturday is connected to her well-chronicled substance abuse.
HAMMER: To the death of another troubled young music star.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: There have been fans gathering since they heard the news on Saturday.
HAMMER: On TV today, tributes at Winehouse`s home in London, where her body was found Saturday. And Amy`s heartbroken father, Mitch, along with Amy`s mother, Janis, joined the mourners outside Amy`s home today.
Her dad Mitch devastated to be living the nightmare he`d always feared most.
MELANIE BROMLEY, WEST COAST BUREAU CHIEF, "US WEEKLY": He always felt this day might come and, unfortunately, he was right.
HAMMER: Yes, we all know about Amy Winehouse`s long and very public downward spiral. But still, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has got to ask, did Amy Winehouse have to die?
Comedian Russell Brand, who`s known Amy Winehouse for years, wrote a heartbreaking blog today suggesting that his friend`s death was one of two fates that awaited her.
Brand wrote that "When you love someone who suffers from the disease of addiction, you await the phone call. There will be a phone call. The sincere hope is that the call will be from the addict themselves telling you they`ve had enough, that they`re ready to stop, ready to try something new."
"Of course, though, you fear the other call, the sad nocturnal chime from a friend or relative telling you it`s too late, she`s gone."
KATY PERRY, SINGER: My husband, who has been clean and sober for almost nine years --
HAMMER: Today, Russell Brand`s wife, Katy Perry, told "Good Morning America" she`s been affected by Amy`s death, especially as she watches her husband struggle to manage his addiction.
PERRY: It gave me a real gratefulness for my husband who got clean when he was 27. And I feel really sad and I just hope she finds peace.
HAMMER: Peace was something Amy Winehouse knew very little of in life.
(MUSIC)
HAMMER: From the moment Winehouse`s song, "Rehab," became a huge smash in 2007, it was became very clear that the song was autobiographic. Stories of her substance abuse problems were on the tabloids constantly.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT asked her about it in 2007. She wasn`t in much of a mood to talk about it.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What do you make about the coverage of, you know, your drinking and this and that and all that sort of thing?
AMY WINEHOUSE, SINGER: Fine. Doesn`t bother me.
BROMLEY: She also, at the same, had had some instances where she`d gone to rehab, most recently in May, that she had actually checked herself out after just one week.
HAMMER: Sadly, this disastrous performance in Belgrade, Serbia last month in which Amy was booed off the stage now stands as her final performance.
BROMLEY: It was a very, very heartbreaking piece of footage to watch and definitely something that had upset her, too, because, subsequently, she ended up canceling her European tour.
WHOOPI GOLDBERG, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": When you`re high, you never think you`re going to O.D.
HAMMER: On "The View" morning, Whoopi Goldberg says she knows from personal experience how hard it is for an addict to know they`re in over their head.
GOLDBERG: You`re always thinking you`re in control. And the one thing no dope fiend ever realizes is that you`re not.
HAMMER: So did Amy Winehouse have to die? Could she have been saved by the right intervention? Russell Brand blogged today that it`s all a moot point, saying, "Whether this tragedy was preventable or not is now irrelevant. It is not preventable today. We have lost a beautiful and talented woman to this disease."
BROMLEY: Everybody has been very sad over Amy`s death. I think that her level of talent and her genius was recognized by lots of people, if not by Amy herself.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: Such a tragic ending for such an immensely, enormously talented woman. So here`s our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint -- did Amy Winehouse have to die or could she have been saved?
With me right now in New York, Jane Velez-Mitchell, the host of "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL" right here on HLN. Jane is the author of this fabulous book, "Addict Nation." From Philadelphia tonight, Danny Bonaduce, who is a radio talk show host for 94.1 WYSP in Philadelphia.
Well, Amy`s parents even spoke out publicly about their daughter`s troubles and they were obviously having a very hard time getting her well. So to the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, Jane, could she have been saved? Did she have to die?
JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HOST, "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL": The only person who could have saved Amy Winehouse was Amy Winehouse. But here`s her dilemma or was her dilemma, her whole persona, her whole shtick, is about being the defiant, nonconformist, unapologetic addict.
Her hit song said it all. So she may have felt trapped in her own packaging, in other words, "Who would I be without all that?" So that might have inhibited her ability to change.
The only thing that has to change is everything. That`s a 12-step saying. Was she able, was she willing to change everything?
HAMMER: And sadly, it all sort of rolled in to her very last performance. It was back on June 18th, she was kicking off her European tour in Serbia. You look at this and it was a clear warning sign that Amy was not OK.
She was booed off the stage. We know that her European tour was cancelled right after that. Today, even singer, Moby, feels guilty. He was with Winehouse during that performance and he tweeted this apology, "After our show in Serbia, I wish I`d been able to help Amy. I`m sorry."
Danny, a lot of people knew that Amy had a problem obviously. But like Moby, I`m sure a lot of people, right by her side, felt helpless. So to the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, to you, did she have to die or could she have been saved?
DANNY BONADUCE, RADIO HOST, 94.1 WYSP: Well, she could have been saved if you confined her, but you cannot confine somebody. First, let me just say this to Mr. and Mrs. Winehouse, her parents -- I do not believe it is in God`s plan for a parent to outlive their child. I am so sorry for you.
But let me say this, and Dr. Drew will back me up on this, this if you want to get sober, you move away from people, places and things, the people you used to party with, the places you used to go, the things you do.
She lived at Camden Market. I`ve scored drugs at Camden Market. Everybody in America or England knows if you want drugs you go to Camden Market. She had an apartment right above it. Amy Winehouse, in my opinion, did not care very much if Amy lived or not.
HAMMER: Yes, and this is why, unfortunately, it was just not shocking news as much as we all didn`t want to hear the news and we`re saddened by it. Not a lot of people are walking around today saying they`re surprised by it.
And the emotional reaction has been pouring in from so many stars about Amy`s death. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT hearing from a lot of them over the weekend at Comic Con, the convention in San Diego. In fact, we actually broke the news to Vivica A. Fox over the weekend. You`ve got to watch her reaction and her advice. Let`s roll that.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
V. FOX: Wow, really? Can I just say something to the camera?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Sure.
V. FOX: To kids out there, you guys please learn that drugs are not the way out. They may glamorize it and you may think that it`s the life of a rock star.
Wow, what an incredible talent to lose today with Amy Winehouse. Please, please you guys say no to drugs and live. Be healthy, be happy and prosperous and may Amy rest in peace. Wow, it makes me sad.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Vivica clearly shaken. She wanted to send that message that drugs are not glamorous, even if they are part of the rock star life as so many people see it, and as it was with Amy`s.
You know, Jane, to a point you were making earlier, so much of her story was not just her talent, but her addiction. Was it at all possible to think that they could have been separated, those two factions of her life?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Sure. There are plenty of rockers in recovery who used to be very bad boys and bad girls who now go to sleep at 10:00 at night, wake up at 6:00 in the morning, do their yoga, work out, practice their 12 steps and they still keep the shtick.
They know it`s show business. And it is hard to navigate, though, with a young artist, to teach them you can separate this act that you have from your real person. You don`t have to walk around wearing a lamp shade on your head all the time just because that`s the role you might play when you`re on stage.
HAMMER: Danny, that certainly wasn`t the role you played when you were a child star. You went through your addictions but you got through them. Do you think they could have been separated for somebody like Amy Winehouse? They were so intertwined?
BONADUCE: Oh, I believe so. Amy Winehouse was nothing but sheer talent. Unfortunately, sheer talent on drugs but she was one of the greats. When I watch Lindsay Lohan, by the way, she`s the good, too.
I`m very surprised because, usually, I watch this and say, well, they`re just famous for being famous. Lindsay is really talented and Amy Winehouse, unbelievable. But like Whoopi Goldberg said on "The View," you`re never going to convince a drug addict, "Hey, tonight`s the night you O.D.
HAMMER: Yes.
BONADUCE: You know what Lindsay Lohan is thinking right now? Wow, Amy should have cut back a little bit. I could have lived through that. You`re never going to scare an addict straight. Never.
HAMMER: So, so tragic. Well, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has just confirmed that the funeral, the private funeral for Amy Winehouse is going to be held on Tuesday. Amy Winehouse, of course, not the only talented artist to die at just 27 years old.
Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, even Jim Morrison suffered the same fate. What is the deal? Well, actor Val Kilmer, who played Jim Morrison on the big screen, has a theory on what`s called the "27 Club."
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
VAL KILMER, ACTOR: The thing about addiction that I learned from playing a bunch of these guys that are addicts is that it`s not wrong or bad to want to get out of the pain of mortality.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Jane Velez-Mitchell, Danny Bonaduce, got to get your take on this, so don`t move. But we move on now to another heart break for Maria Shriver.
Just as Arnold and Maria`s divorce heats up, their teenage son lands in the hospital after a terrible accident. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has the dramatic 911 call.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
911 OPERATOR: Is he awake and breathing?
SHRIVER: Yes, he`s awake and breathing. It`s just -- he can`t move. He`s having trouble breathing.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: The SHOWBIZ great debate tonight, could Arnold and Maria`s shared heart break bring them back together?
Inside Kim Kardashian`s big lawsuit. Tonight, the secret behind Kim`s Old Navy suit, that look-alike commercial that she`s suing over. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" -- more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.
TEXT: "Captain America" wins weekend box office with $65.8 million; "Harry Potter" was second.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
KELLAN LUTZ, ACTOR: I just heard about Amy passing away today. I`m a big fan of her music and I don`t know her personally, but it`s always tragic when someone goes. I don`t have all the information so I can`t really answer the question knowledgeably -- knowingly. And it`s just sad. I mean, she`s a very good singer.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Tonight, the truth or consequences.
She`s the maid who accused Dominique Strauss-Kahn of sexually assaulting her in a New York City hotel room. But it appears the case against the power French politician will actually be thrown out because there are questions about her credibility, including claims that she has lied in the past.
But today, she tearfully insisted she`s not lying. Investigative journalist, Pat Lalama, is with me tonight from Hollywood.
And Pat, I`ve got to tell what we saw today on "Good Morning America" to me was just extraordinary. We have a sexual assault victim going on national television, speaking in great detail about what may have happened before the case is even resolved. Take a look at this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
NAFISSATOU DIALLO, THE MAID ACCUSING DOMINIQUE STRAUSS-KAHN OF SEXUAL ASSAULT: He spoke this -- he keep pushing me, pushing me, pushing me through the hallway, back to the hallway, keep pushing me. I was so afraid. I was so scared.
ROBIN ROBERTS, CO-ANCHOR, "GOOD MORNING AMERICA": What do you want?
DIALLO: I want justice. I want to see him to go to jail. I want him to know you cannot use your power when you do something like this.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: So Pat, a lot of people were saying today she seemed believable. But we know that she has had credibility issues in the past based on past lies, that`s why the case against Strauss-Kahn is likely to be thrown out. What do you think? Was this a smart thing for her to do or really stupid?
PAT LALAMA, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST: Well, first let me tell you it`s incredibly bold, A.J. I have never seen a case where the alleged sexual assault victim uses the media as a PR campaign to win over the public.
I mean, it is absolutely incredible and there`s part of me that says, gee whiz, I don`t think I`m going to do something like this unless I believe wholeheartedly that I am telling the truth --
HAMMER: Yes.
LALAMA: And I`m not going to get my day in court on the criminal end, so doggone it. I`m going full force. And it`s shocking. Strauss-Kahn`s attorneys -- they`re like whoa. They -- I think it blindsided them. And I think they`re a little bit afraid of it, to tell you the truth.
HAMMER: Well, some people have suggested that the maid targeted Strauss- Khan, of course, because she knew that he was rich and powerful. But on "Good Morning America" today, she denied all of that. Watch what she said about that.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DIALLO: I was watching in the news and then they say he`s going to be the next president of France. Then I say, "Oh, my god," and I was crying. I said they`re going to kill me. I said they`re going to kill me. I`m going to die.
ROBERTS: Why did you think that, Nafi?
DIALLO: Because I know if that was in my country, he`s a powerful man like that, they`re going to kill me before someone knows what happened to me.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: I`ve got to ask you very quickly, Pat. Do you think she quieted the people questioning her credibility?
LALAMA: No, she won`t quiet them. But remember this -- it`s how she will do under cross-examination that really is the great equalizer. That`s what we have to wait for if it goes to civil trial.
HAMMER: That was something to see though. Pat Lalama, thank you so much. As we move on tonight, we have Whoopi`s war with Hef`s runaway bride.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
GOLDBERG: She`s a bonehead, that girl. That`s all I`m saying, you know. You set up -- she`s coming here. I don`t care.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Whoopi Goldberg did not mince words about the woman who apparently left Hugh Hefner at the altar. Well, tonight, you`ve got to see what happened when Whoopi came face to face with that woman, Crystal Harris.
Speaking Hef, did you see this? It`s the photo of a famous "Playboy" beauty. Can you tell who this is? We`re going to reveal her identity and how she lost all that weight, coming up. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
It is time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" -- these are more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.
TEXT: Jay-Z, Kanye West form "The Throne"; "Watch the Throne Tour" starts September 22.
"I can`t even breathe right now. I`m crying so hard. I just lost one of my best friends. I love you forever, Amy, and will never forget the real you." - Kelly Osbourne
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
GOLDBERG: You know, she`s a bonehead, that girl. That`s all I`m saying, you know. She`s coming here. I don`t care. I don`t care if you`re coming here, but you`re a bonehead. You set up a man and embarrassed him like that. Pooh to you.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: It`s Whoopi Goldberg. She was all fired up over Hugh Hefner`s runaway bride, Crystal Harris. Wait until you see what happened today when Crystal Harris actually stopped by "The View."
Today, on the big showdown on "The View," Crystal Harris and Whoopi Goldberg finally came face to face. Everybody expected fireworks, me included. But in a surprising twist, Whoopi apologizes to Crystal. You`ve got to watch this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
GOLDBERG: Because I thought you left my friend at the altar, I was a little annoyed, so I apologize.
CRYSTAL HARRIS, EX-FIANCEE OF HUGH HEFNER: He always told me how great a friend you were to him.
GOLDBERG: To me, he`s one of those people I`ve known -- he`s been really good to my family. And I just thought how could someone do that? But I understand now that wasn`t the case, so I am terribly sorry.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: I can tell you nobody saw that coming. With me right now, TV journalist, Taryn Winter Brill. You know, a lot of people thought that Crystal Harris` relationship and even the breakup with Hugh Hefner was all for publicity.
Taryn, do you think Whoopi`s apology on national TV is now going to have people seeing what was really an odd relationship perhaps in a different light?
TARYN WINTER BRILL, TV JOURNALIST: Absolutely. Hands down, no question. I don`t think Whoopi Goldberg, A.J., is someone who takes an apology lightly, doling out an apology.
HAMMER: No.
BRILL: No, she does not. Actually, it (UNINTELLIGIBLE). But the fact that she, you know, decided to go this route shows a lot that. I think it shows that she believes in the authenticity and the merit of this relationship.
This was not a publicity stunt and she feels sorry for Crystal. So I think we can all move on now, so to speak.
HAMMER: Well, let`s move on.
BRILL: Let`s move on, shall we?
HAMMER: But it was interesting to see today on "The View" when a somber Crystal Harris told the ladies that she backed out of the wedding because things were happening too fast.
What does Hef have to say about the split? Well, he told cameras that he, quote, "dodged a bullet." Taryn, it doesn`t seem to me like these two were ever really meant to be together anyway, so maybe everybody dodged a bullet.
BRILL: Yes, I kind of agree. In my head, I thought to myself, if she was having cold feet, why not just sort of delay the marriage date, right? I mean, let`s get it together. But then, I realized octogenarian.
He needs to move, you know. Who knows how much time he has left? So maybe that was sort of, you know, the fast-paced sort of nuptials.
HAMMER: If anybody is going to keep on ticking for 20 years to come --
BRILL: That`s true.
HAMMER: As an octogenarian, that would be Hugh Hefner. Taryn Winter Brill, thank you so much.
Moving on now to the SHOWBIZ lineup -- here`s what`s coming up at the bottom of the hour on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
Kim Kardashian`s wild bachelorette weekend. Yes, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is revealing some pretty unbelievable photos her rowdy wedding romp.
Was Amy Winehouse a victim of the curse of 27? Could her tragic death be a wake-up call to other young troubled stars like, you know, Lindsay Lohan perhaps? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
Here comes the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" -- more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.
TEXT: "The Hills" star Kristin Cavallari and NFL star Jay Cutler call of engagement.

(END AUDIO CLIP)
HAMMER: Tonight, the SHOWBIZ great debate, could this tragedy bring Arnold and Maria back together?
ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.
(MUSIC)
HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with big news breaking today -- will Amy Winehouse`s death be a wake-up call to other troubled young stars?
On the heels of the tragic death of Amy Winehouse at just 27 years old, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT wants to know in our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, why have so many talented stars died tragically at 27?
Not only Amy Winehouse, but look at this -- Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain -- an amazing list. So what`s the deal? And is this a wake-up call tonight for other young starlets like Lindsay Lohan?
With me right now in New York, Jane Velez-Mitchell, who is the host of "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL" right here on HLN. And she`s the author of this fine book, "Addict Nation."
Right now, in Philadelphia, Danny Bonaduce, radio talk show host on 94.1 WYSP in Philadelphia, and he has battled and overcame his own addiction.
And let`s face it, guys, Amy Winehouse had this amazing powerhouse voice, an immense talent. Her death is devastating and a lot of people really want to know why, at age 27, does she join this talented group of musicians and actors who also died at 27 after some very tortured years?
Danny, let me go to you first. Why 27? What do you think that means? Because there`s got to be something to it.
BONADUCE: You know what, I love coming on your show. It`s an honor to be here. I`m sorry I have to be here under these conditions, but there is nothing to the "27 Club." If you look at Brian Jones` death certificate - - he`s one of the Rolling Stones, died at 27.
Do you know what the cause of death is? Misadventure. Kurt Cobain killed himself. It has nothing to do with being 27. It has something to do with their lot in life and the way their life went.
There`s also the 32 club. There`s also a club of people had have been hit by lightning twice. I don`t believe -- I don`t put one ounce of credibility in the "27 Club."
HAMMER: What about you, Jane? Do you think there`s something to it? Because you look at these stars who had this meteoric rise and certainly were tortured souls in many ways. Do you think there`s a reason that 27 is a common thread? Or are you like Danny and say it`s a bunch of bunk?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I respectfully disagree with my buddy, Danny, because I think, absolutely, there is something to it. The road gets narrower. When you`re 18, you can party all night. You can go to work. You can power it out.
As you get older, if you`re an addict, in your disease, it really just does a number on your body. That`s why Amy Winehouse was weak and frail. That`s why she had to have a doctor check on her the night before she died. It takes its toll. It will catch up with you.
BONADUCE: Jane, who I love and adore, you`ve been through it and I`ve read all your books. I think you are nothing but wonderful. But if memory serves you`re at least 31 years old, how come you`re not dead?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, I`m not saying that everybody follows the same pattern. But I will tell you that when I was a teenager, I was able to go dancing all night and go to work the next day.
And I certainly couldn`t have done that at 39 when I got sober. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. And that`s what I`m saying with these hard-core rockers who really abuse their bodies. Twenty-seven is when it catches up with them.
HAMMER: And Danny, you know, we look at you and we`re happy to say here you are. And I believe you`re, as well, at least 31 years old so let me --
BONADUCE: I`m 51 years old and I`m going to leave here and I`m going to go out all night long.
HAMMER: Well, let me leave it at that with Danny, and move on to one of the men I mentioned on that list, Jim Morrison. Now, we just spoke with Val Kilmer. He played Jim Morrison in the 1991 hit movie, "The Doors." He was absolutely incredible in that.
And we caught up him at Comic Con in San Diego. Val tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT his theory on the "27 Club." I think you`ll find this interesting.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
KILMER: The thing about addiction that I learned from playing a bunch of these guys that are addicts is that it`s not wrong or bad to want to get out of the pain of mortality. That`s what they`re trying to do and a lot of artists are just too sensitive for the world.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Well, I certainly get Val`s point. Some artists may be too sensitive for the world that surrounds them. Do you agree with that at all, Danny?
BONADUCE: I agree that the world have a vicious, vicious place. The fact that Amy Winehouse -- Amy Winehouse, I`ll give you an idea of how rough the world is. She was just booed of the stage in Serbia.
Serbia was just being bombed. How do you bomb in Serbia where they`re at war all the time? It`s the public judges you constantly. Yes, it`s a tough day out to be a celebrity.
But think about the money, the fame, the treats, the way you`re treated better than most. I would not trade my life for a foreman on the docks for $1 million dollars. You know what, the toughest job in the world -- single mother working the late shift at Denny`s.
HAMMER: Yes. Right there. You summed it up pretty well. A lot of celebrities, of course, mourning the loss of Amy Winehouse today. I want to share to you what I thought was one of the more poignant tributes to Winehouse.
This is from a blog written by another British soul diva, Adele, who is having immense success herself right now. And she wrote this, "I don`t think she ever realized just how brilliant she was and how important she is, but that just makes her even more charming."
"Although I`m incredibly sad about Amy passing, I`m also reminded of how immensely proud of her I am as well and grateful to be inspired by her."
And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that since Amy`s death, her iconic album, "Back to Black, not surprisingly, topped iTunes around the world in keeping with the legends in the "27 Club."
Jane, do you think that Amy Winehouse will achieve that level of legendary status in death? Because she certainly didn`t have the same amount of success in life as perhaps a Jim Morrison or a Janis Joplin?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I think she will because she was unique. She had a unique look. She had a unique sound. But it`s really tragic, getting to Danny`s point, that she had to achieve this legendary status through death.
It would be far better for her to achieve legendary status by having a long, productive life, and that would have been achieved by her getting sober. And the fact is, the reason she was booed in Serbia is because she was too intoxicated to perform. That`s the tragedy here.
HAMMER: Yes. And the fact that she wasn`t given the time, like stars that we have seen come through it, to just go away and then come back.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes.
HAMMER: People kept grabbing her back and pulling her in. Well, no big surprise that the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook wall was off the hook. So many people have been writing tributes and mourning the death of Amy Winehouse up there.
Let me get to a couple of comments. This is Lisa R. who writes, "Amy Winehouse could have outsold Aretha. RIP, Amy."
This was from Jimmeria P., "First there was Jimi Hendrix. Next was Kurt Cobain. And now, there`s Amy. Lindsay Lohan had better get this message really clear."
And Nicole P. writes, "Lindsay Lohan, get help while you`re still among the living."
Danny, I find it incredible, without prompting, so many people, while they`re grieving Amy, in the same breath are expressing concern over Lindsay Lohan. We`ve talked about Lindsay for years, you and I, Danny.
Do you think there`s a real danger that the 25-year-old Lindsay could be headed down that very same direction as Amy Winehouse?
BONADUCE: I think Lindsay`s been headed down that road since she was 22. But the fact is -- I don`t mean to be rude, but she doesn`t have half the talent of Amy Winehouse.
Amy Winehouse is brilliant or was brilliant, and the people writing in on Facebook are absolutely right. This is why I come off a little less than sympathetic. The fact is Amy Winehouse cheated me. She was great. I was a huge fan and, now, there will be no more.
I am very sad of her loss and I`m sorry of her family, but she robbed me of her talent.
HAMMER: Yes. Yes. Do you agree, though, that Lindsay is clearly possibly headed down this exact same path?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes. We`re hearing reports, claims that she was out partying, getting wasted this weekend. Well, she called -- she`s issued a statement saying that`s absurd. But let`s face it. She also has gone to rehab many times.
And there`s something about a chronic relapser, if you get into that vortex, that sometimes you can`t get out. You fail so many times you can`t even envision the moment when you would actually succeed.
HAMMER: So would Lindsay Lohan even see this tragic news about Amy Winehouse and see any of herself in it and say, "Oh, I`d better be careful because that could be me"?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Listen, it should be a wake-up call. I got a text from a friend who is newly sober, and she said to me, "This is a wake-up call. This shattered me." For anyone struggling with addiction, this should be like a moment of clarity.
HAMMER: Jane Velez-Mitchell, Danny Bonaduce, I thank you both as always? We move on to a "Playboy" model shocker. Did you see this? Put it up, please.
This sexy model and actress just tweeted this eye-popping picture of herself for all the world to see. But why, oh why? The details and the big reveal, coming up.
And Maria Shriver`s new heartbreak. Is Arnold Schwarzenegger really, truly refusing to pay spousal support? Come on. Plus, we`ve got Maria`s dramatic 911 call after their teenage son`s terrible accident.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
911 OPERATOR: Is he awake and breathing?
SHRIVER: Yes, he`s awake and breathing. I just -- he can`t move. He`s having trouble breathing
(END AUDIO CLIP)
HAMMER: Could this tragedy bring Arnold and Maria back together? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views. And now, we have more star reactions to Amy Winehouse`s tragic death.
TEXT: "I just found out. I feel pain. I feel anger. Rest, beautiful girl, rest. You are free. RIP, Amy." - Ricky Martin

V. FOX: Oh really? Can I just say something to the camera? To kids out there, you guys, please learn that drugs are not the way out. They may glamorize it and you may think that it`s the life of a rock star. Wow, what an incredible talent to lose today with Amy Winehouse.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
SHRIVER: It`s like a boogie board accident and he can`t move off the beach, maybe like broken ribs or something like that.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
HAMMER: That`s Maria`s striking 911 call made as her son lay on the beach unable to move after a surfing accident. I`ve got to tell you I cannot believe she managed to stay so calm. Wait until you hear the rest of this call.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. And tonight, Maria Shriver`s new heartbreak.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is revealing that 911 call Maria made after her son`s terrifying surfing accident. And the trauma is bringing Maria and Arnold together in a big way during their explosive divorce war.
So is there actually a chance it could make them closer? I can tell you sympathy for Maria right now -- it is off the charts tonight. But how much can she take?
Right now, in New York, TV journalist Taryn Winter Brill. And in Hollywood tonight, investigative journalist, Pat Lalama. Look, I know everyone is feeling for Maria Shriver tonight as brand-new reports reveal that she`s spending day and night in the hospital, quite understandably, with her 13-year-old son, Chris.
Listen to the dramatic 911 call she made to get her son the help he so desperately needed after his accident. Listen to this.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
SHRIVER: It`s like a boogie board accident and he can`t move off the beach. Maybe like broken ribs or something like that.
911 OPERATOR: OK, so you see it from your house?
SHRIVER: Yes, it`s my son.
911 OPERATOR: How old is your son?
SHRIVER: Thirteen.
911 OPERATOR: Is he awake and breathing?
SHRIVER: Yes, he`s awake and breathing. I just -- he can`t move. He`s having trouble breathing.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
HAMMER: I think that shows just incredible strength. She knew she had to stay calm to get her son help right away, but imagine what she was going through. Taryn, we know accidents like this often bring families that may not be doing so well closer together.
Do you think that that is possible with Arnold and Maria at this point? What are the chances?
BRILL: Absolutely. I think, when tragedy strikes, all bets are off the table. It puts everything into perspective. And it`s a matter of life and death and makes you realize what`s important in life.
So with a divorce sitting next to you, you have to think, or at least I`m hoping for their sake they`re going to say life is too short to drag out a messy divorce. The well-being, the health of our family is what`s most important. And she`s a pillar of strength. My gosh, A.J., incredible.
HAMMER: Yes.
BRILL: Wow.
HAMMER: She`s showed that throughout this entire ordeal with the Arnold divorce.
BRILL: Right.
HAMMER: But of all weeks, Arnold`s lawyer chose this week of the accident to file his response to Maria`s divorce papers. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can report that those papers reveal that Arnold wants to stiff Maria on spousal support, which just blows my mind.
I don`t know the details of exactly why he`s doing this, Pat. But with their son in the hospital, with a collapsed lung, are Arnold`s lawyers just nuts to file things like that right now?
LALAMA: Well, first of, I have to say I think Taryn, you`re a hopeless romantic. Bless you. I don`t think they`re ever going to get back together. I think the Austrian -- let`s call him Cro-Mags -- still walks with his knuckles scraping on the sidewalk.
I will say in defense of his team -- they didn`t plan it this way. It was filed before this happened. I think it`s a strategy. I think it`s very common that lawyers check the box "no spousal report." They use it as a bargaining chip.
HAMMER: OK.
LALAMA: They ultimately move forward. I just don`t see it as any way to try to torment Maria.
HAMMER: Yes. I mean, I really hope there is no connection. It is just so ill-timed, whether intentional or not. Anyhow, chances are probably it was not intentional.
I can tell you, though, as we move on, there are brand-new details tonight about another big celebrity legal drama. It`s the secret behind Kim Kardashian suing Old Navy for using a Kim K. look-alike in its ad.
Oh, the horror. But TMZ reported today that Kim sued under pressure from Sears. Now, this actually kind of makes sense to me. Sears wants to protect its huge new endorsement deal with Kim. Pat, this makes a lot of sense to me. What about you?
LALAMA: I think absolutely. Sears is saying, "Wait a minute. Whether it was intentional or not, this dilutes our campaign. We don`t want anything near our campaign when our campaign happens."
And I think she was under pressure and I really think that you`d have to prove the audience is confused by this look-alike to get any kind winnings as a result of this. I think it was Sears truly behind it.
HAMMER: All right. WELL, right now, I would like to show you something special -- another Kim Kardashian commercial. Kim`s bachelorette party in Las Vegas over the weekend. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT got the hottest new pictures today of this party courtesy, of who else? The Kardashians themselves.
They actually sent these things out. Call me cynical here, Taryn, but I`m thinking this is like a movie trailer released to promote a big show which is coming up in August, which happens to be Kim`s wedding. Any chance of that?
BRILL: Yes. Big chance. I mean, everything they do is on camera. Everything is a publicity stunt. And if I were them, if I were one of the Kardashians, I`d probably do the same thing.
I mean, the fact of the matter is, myself included, I love keeping up with them, A.J. I can`t get enough and I want to see more, more, more. More hair extensions. More lashes. More eyeliner. You name it.
HAMMER: Pat Lalama is looking at these pictures wishing she had her arm around Kim Kardashian while they were about to play with that cake.
LALAMA: I hate to tell you -- you know, God bless America for loving these people. I really couldn`t care less what happens to the Kardashians.
BRILL: I love them.
HAMMER: Fair enough. All right. Taryn Winter Brill, Pat Lalama, I love you. Thank you both.
As we move on tonight, Gleeks rejoice. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT breaks news about the future of one of my favorite shows, "Glee." And let me tell you this, tea, tea, tea. Lei, lei, lei.
The heart-tugging drama of the Chilean miners is just getting the Hollywood treatment. That news tops "The Buzz Today."
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
(voice-over) Miners movie deal. From trapped miners to movie stars. According to "The Hollywood Reporter," producer Michael Medavoy has acquired the rights to the story of 33 miners whose 69-day ordeal captured worldwide attention.
"Glee`s" about face? Just weeks after "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy revealed to "The Hollywood Reporter" that stars Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith would not be returning to the season four, the show`s executive producer did an about-face Sunday at Comic Con.
According to "TVLine," he told the crowd, "Here`s the exact thing. Rachel, Kurt and Finn are seniors, so they`re graduating. But because they`re graduating doesn`t mean they`re leaving the show."
"It was never our plan or intention to let them go. They are not done with the show after this season."
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: And I say thank goodness for that. Well, coming up next, SHOWBIZ breaks new with Rob Lowe. Rob talking with SHOWBIZ TONIGHT for the very first time all about his dramatic new look to play accused killer, Drew Peterson. Why Rob`s transformation goes far beyond just changing his looks. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
It`s time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" -- more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Well, right now, SHOWBIZ breaks news with Rob Lowe`s dramatic transformation. Now, Rob Lowe was at Comic-Con promoting an online horror movie that he`s directing.
But the real horror was his gray hair. You were a little early on the scream. But that`s OK, we were all frightened by this. Now, the perpetually young Rob was nearly unrecognizable when SHOWBIZ TONIGHT caught up with him.
I mean, look at the guy. Rob`s new silver fox look is part of his transformation as he plays alleged killer, Drew Peterson in an upcoming Lifetime movie. As you remember, Peterson shot to infamy after the 2007 disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacey. And he`s now in jail awaiting trial in the death of his third wife.
Rob admits that this role is a major departure for him. But he tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that`s exactly why he took the job.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ROB LOWE, ACTOR: This is for the part that I`m playing, where I`m playing Drew Peterson, the accused double-wife killer who is awaiting trial. And it`s part of a transformation that I have to do because I look clearly nothing like him.
So I have other things, a nice prosthetic stuff that I`m working on to play this character, which is really -- it`s like we spoke about. It`s very transformative from anything I`ve done before. I wanted to do it because I feel like the most unlikely choice ever to play him.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Well, if you think that was disturbing, I want you to take a look at Rob in full hair and make-up. I mean, come on. That transformation is pretty remarkable.
So on Friday, we asked to you vote in our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll. I just received the final results moments ago. We asked you this - - Jennifer Aniston reportedly pre-engaged. Will her relationship with Justin Theroux work?
You guys are a bunch of cynics. Twenty-four percent say yes, he`s the one. Seventy-six percent of you say, heck no, Jen`s just unlucky in love.
An E-mail from someone clearly not on team Aniston. Jesse in Indiana writing, "I believe Jen will never be able to fully commit to anther man unless it`s Brad Pitt. And what is a pre-engagement?"
All right. Did you see this? Which sexy and hilarious former "Playboy" model just tweeted this shocking never before seen picture? We reveal the self-proclaimed "meaty ass, next." This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Did you see this? The beautiful Jenny McCarthy just tweeted this eye-popping picture of herself in 2002 when she was pregnant with her son, Evan.
