(MUSIC)

Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with big news breaking tonight - Will power, as in Will Smith star power, and trying to use that power to convince everyone that he and his wife, Jada, are not splitting up.

Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is bringing you video that surfaced today of Will and Jada together in public for the first time since those wild reports that their 13-year run as Hollywood`s super couple was coming to a crashing end.

So where did they appear? At a red carpet premiere? An awards show perhaps? Oh, no. They just went out and did some shopping and made sure cameras caught them showing that everything is apparently just fine.

But hold on just a second because SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has got to ask, was it all for show?

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You guys are the best couple ever.

WILL SMITH, ACTOR: Thank you very much.

HAMMER (voice-over): When the marriage rumors get tough, the tough go shopping. Today, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT obtained the first video of superstar couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith since "In Touch`s" explosive reports that the two were separating.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We don`t believe it for one second.

HAMMER: But on this lovely shopping trip to Malibu, the two looked anything but separated. They took pictures with fans, laughed with the paparazzi and tried their best to look like the happy couple they`re so famous for being.

NINA PARKER, PRODUCER, TMZ: They`re kind of affectionate, touching each other. You hear at one point Jada call Will "baby."

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you like Will Smith`s character in "Men in Black" -

W. SMITH: May have I your attention, please -

HAMMER: Who had a handy device that made people forget things, could Will be hoping this very public shopping trip with Jada make people forget about those pesky divorce rumors?

PARKER: They`re trying to make everyone - let everyone know that their relationship is, as they call, "intact."

HAMMER: Today, "In Touch" magazine is standing by its reports that Will and Jada have separated, which the report blames on a relationship between Jada and Marc Anthony, her co-star on the TNT series, "Hawthorne."

Will and Jada are trying to convince people the story is bogus, but it hasn`t exactly worked. In their first statement on the issue, they said, quote, "We are still together and our marriage is intact."

Let`s just say for a couple well-known for talking about their sex life -

JADA PINKETT SMITH, ACTRESS: We`ve made love in some interesting places.

HAMMER: And their commitment -

W. SMITH: Just divorce can`t be an option.

HAMMER: A statement as bland as "our marriage is intact" didn`t exactly sway anyone.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You guys are the best couple ever.

HAMMER: Hence, the public shopping trip in Malibu. Even Hollywood megastars going shopping sometimes, so it would be the height of cynicism to suggest this trip was a carefully planned show of shopping solidarity to let everyone know all is well in Smithland, right? Maybe not.

PARKER: A lot of people are just saying that they feel it`s a publicity stunt.

HAMMER: TMZ`s Nina Parker finds this to be a curious display from one of Hollywood`s most private couples.

PARKER: I`ve been here at TMZ for quite some time. And the only time that we usually get Will and Jada out is if they`re either on a movie set or if there happens to some type of an awards show. Other than that, they`re very much under the radar.

So the fact that we`re seeing them out now at a very public location in Malibu where a lot of paparazzi frequent is not a mistake.

HAMMER: Could this be a case of a couple that doth protest too much?

PARKER: It typically shows me, working in this industry, that when people kind of come out with the smiles and the hugs, usually divorce papers follow.

HAMMER: Team Will and Jada are also fighting back against all those reports that Jada and Marc Anthony, who steamed up the screen together on "Hawthorne" might be getting too close off camera.

Mark and Jada are denying those reports and they`ve got backup.

PARKER: We`ve talked to several people who work on the set of "Hawthorne" who say they never saw any type of inappropriate actions with Marc Anthony and Jada.

HAMMER: And as Will and Jada make nice in front of the cameras, they have some celebrities in their corner. Justin Bieber, who is pals with Smith`s son, Jaden, who tweeted, quote, "Will and Jada are one of the best couples ever."

Plus, Will and Jada are getting a shout out from America`s preeminent expert on marriage and relationships -

NICOLE "SNOOKI" POLIZZI, REALITY TV STAR, "JERSEY SHORE": I`m not trashy. I just drink too much.

HAMMER: "Jersey Shore`s" Snooki who tweets, "OMG, Jada and Will are so frickin` cute."

PARKER: Everybody`s rooting for them, so obviously, they have support there. And people hope they work it out.

HAMMER: But the breakup rumors continue. So if Will and Jada want them to stop, you`re either going to have to do more shopping or Will may need to borrow a certain prop from the "Men in Black" set.

W. SMITH: Sorry.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: Let me just say it - I love Will and Jada. But every time I looked at that video that SHOWBIZ TONIGHT got of them today out shopping together, I really couldn`t help but wonder if it was just a show. Here`s some more of what happened.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You guys are the best couple ever.

W. SMITH: Thank you very much.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We don`t believe it for one second.

W. SMITH: From Germany. All right.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: It is possible that Will and Jada really did just want to go shopping. Hey, stars are just like us, right? They shop. But then again, maybe not. And I hate to be cynical here but do I smell a PR buzz blitz going on?

Here`s our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - are Will and Jada just trying too hard? Rob Shuter, "PopEater.com," what do you think, my friend?

ROB SHUTER, COLUMNIST, "POPEATER.COM": I think they`re try too hard. It breaks my heart. I don`t want to believe this story is true. However, after seeing that video of them all lovey-dovey and shopping, I got a little suspicious.

HAMMER: Yes. I have say I do believe they made a tactical error here, because it is all too common a ploy to do something like this when there really is trouble, almost a no-win situation for them, Amanda. Do you think they`re trying too hard?

AMANDA SEALES, HOST, "MUSIC CHOICE": Oh, definitely. I mean, they made a shopping trip look like Disney World. And it just wasn`t that happy of a place in Malibu. They know they`re the last of the marriage Mohicans. So you know, we want them to hold on.

HAMMER: Yes. Yes. It`s a small world after all.

SEALES: Right.

HAMMER: We can`t dispute that Will and Jada are about as big as Hollywood royalty comes, right? Take a look at this. Can we put this up, Charles? Brand-new pictures of their brand-new home they just revealed in "Architectural Digest."

This thing literally is the size of a castle. Will`s paycheck just as royal. He reportedly pulled in $35 million last year. Will and Jada have the money. They have the beautiful family.

Personally, I think they seem to be about as close to the perfect couple as one can get. And is that just the reason why everyone is so obsessed with them, Rob, and the idea that everybody just wants them to stay together?

SHUTER: Yes. I think you`re exactly right there. We love this couple. They seem real. They seem perfect. They seem like everything we want to be, but with a lot of money. There`s no downside to be Will or Jada.

HAMMER: Right. And they`ve got the dancing talented kids as well. And look, there are a lot of celebrities who have the same obsession that we all do with whether or not they may be splitting or the fact that they`re so great.

Here what`s Justin Bieber just tweeted, "Will and Jada are one of the best couples ever. #Fact #Real." Even the great Snooki her love, "OMG, Jada and Will are so frickin` cute." What do you think the obsession is, Amanda?

SEALES: I mean, I think the obsession is just like Rob said. They`re like the Hollywood Obamas, you know, like, you just want them to be as perfect and picturesque as the Hollywood characters that they portray. And they look good, too. That`s the other part.

SHUTER: That`s an important part.

SEALES: They look good.

HAMMER: Well, again, my point of it being a tactical error, a lot of people say they don`t think Will and Jada should have reacted to the breakup reports at all.

SEALES: No.

HAMMER: Moments ago, I received the final results from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll. I have them in my hands. Here`s what we asked - "Will and Jada Smith Deny Breakup Reports: Did they need to respond?"

Only 25 percent said, "Yes, squash the rumors." Seventy-five percent said, "No, don`t fuel the fire." Rob, again, back to the point of this being a sort of no-win situation for them. In my mind, the best thing they could have done regardless of what the truth is here is lay low, do not respond at all.

SHUTER: Yes. I think you`re right. Or go to Kim`s Kardashian`s wedding. This is her (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

(CROSS TALK)

This is an outrage. She makes me furious.

HAMMER: Do you agree, Amanda, they should have just kept quiet?

SEALES: Yes.

HAMMER: Or go to Kim`s wedding?

SEALES: It just kept going on like they have been. They don`t let us in. So all of a sudden, when you`re letting us in, it tells us - and you`re right. Kim is probably (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

HAMMER: What will the next move be? I bet it will not be anything for a while. Rob and Amanda, thank you both so much.

Well, tonight, caught on tape - a third Kardashian wedding? Could it be? The shocking, behind-the-scenes Kardashian wedding chatter just revealed and we will tell you all about it. Inside the planning of another Kardashian event. The SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, are the Kardashian reality shows anything but reality?

Inside the funeral of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" co-star, Russell Armstrong. Lisa Gastineau was right there. She is right here for a must-see SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview.

And then we move on to creepy, stupid love. Forty-nine-year-old Jim Carrey professes his love for 22-year-old Emma Stone.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CARREY: This is a message for Emma Stone. Emma, I just want to let you know that I think you`re all the way beautiful.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Creepy, right? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - these are more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: David Arquette is apparently dusting off his dancing shoes. Brand-new reports just out today say that Arquette is the latest celebrity to sign on for "Dancing with the Stars."

TMZ reporting that David just showed up for rehearsal today to meet his pro-dancer, Kim Johnson. David obviously a very funny guy, so I`m thinking that even if he does have two left feet, he will keep us all very entertained. The new season of "Dancing with the Stars" starts at the end of September.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Tonight, SHOWBIZ justice and the doctor accused in the death of Michael Jackson.

Big news breaking today about that - a judge basically ruling that it is nonsense to sequester the jury just because they might watch networks like us here at HLN just like a record number of people did during the Casey Anthony trial.

Beth Karas of Tru TV`s "In Session" is outside the L.A. courthouse right now. That`s where Conrad Murray appeared today.

Beth, the judge in the Conrad Murray case refused today to keep that jury locked up when they finally have them picked in a hotel, keeping them away from the media during the trial saying it just makes the jurors look too much like inmates.

But with all of Michael Jackson`s fans, the Michael Jackson nation rooting for Conrad Murray`s conviction, do you really think he can get a fair trial if they`re not sequestered?

BETH KARAS, CORRESPONDENT, "IN SESSION" ON TRU TV: Well, you know, A.J., if you were to ask the defense attorneys, they`d say, "Absolutely not." How is it possible, in this day and age, with social media, Twitter and Facebook, with all the real time news, not just on television, coming to people, how can they avoid it?

How can they avoid people`s opinions commenting on the testimony of a particular day? You know what? The prosecution says and the judge agrees you just have to trust jurors that they`re going to do the right thing.

They make a promise to take the high road and shut all of that off. And the judge said, "I`m going to hold them to that promise."

HAMMER: Yes. It was interesting for me to hear the attorneys for Conrad Murray citing one of our own. They argued that the jury basically needed to be shielded from influences like watching HLN`s Nancy Grace.

It`s hard for me to believe that they thought the judge was really going to buy that.

KARAS: Well, you know what they did, A.J. They said, "Look, there are commentators who will talk about the testimony elicited on a particular day and they didn`t even see the testimony."

So they asked the judge to amend his order not to allow the testimony to be televised. Sounds like opening (UNINTELLIGIBLE) and verdict.

But the judge says, "I am not going to amend my order. People have a right to say whatever they want. They have a First Amendment right to comment and I`m not changing my order."

HAMMER: Well, of course, HLN is going to be covering that wall to wall, the Conrad Murray trial. It starts on September 8th. Jackson`s attorneys arguing that the coverage of the Casey Anthony case a perfect example of why jurors should be sequestered.

Also breaking today, SHOWBIZ justice news that Casey has just returned to Florida to serve her one-year probation on check fraud conviction. We`re learned today Casey`s not allowed to have any contact with the woman she stole checks from.

She can`t leave Orange County in Florida without special permission. She must report to her probation officer monthly. And she has to go to work or to school.

Beth, quickly, we all believe the Florida Corrections Department is going to do everything in their power to help keep Casey safe. But how in the world can they expect to do that with these millions of Casey haters out there, one of them, you know, may eventually get to her?

KARAS: And if she is expected to look for work or finish school, well, she`s going to be out there. Now, I know there`s a possibility that she could take courses that she needs online, which will keep her inside and away from the public.

But if she wants to be employed, she`s going to be out there. I think sometime in the year we will find out where she is.

HAMMER: All right. Beth Karas, thank you so much for being with us tonight.

Got to move on right now. You remember the 51-year-old rock star who married a 16-year-old? Well, they`re talking about their love on reality TV.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DOUG HUTCHISON, ACTOR: Fifty-one plus sixteen equals love in our world.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: That`s "Lost`s" Doug Hutchison and his 16-year-old bride and they`re in love and now on TV. Just a bad idea here?

Creepy, stupid love? Forty-nine-year-old Jim Carrey just taped a love video for 22-year-old Emma Stone.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CARREY: This is a message for Emma Stone. And if I were a lot younger, I would marry you and we would have chubby little freckle faced kids.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Jim, what are you thinking here? Creepy or sweet? I`m not sure. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views. This is the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I`m sorry.

FLAJNICK: Wow. I didn`t see this one coming.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ trending tonight - the devastating news that Steve Jobs is stepping down as the CEO of Apple apparently because of his failing health. And as "The New Yorker" puts it today, "Jobs is the 20th century`s Thomas Edison. Can you imagine a world without Apple?" I for one cannot.

Joining me right now in New York, TV journalist, Taryn Winter Brill. And I saw this is something - what would my life be without my iPhone, my iPad, my Mac Book, heck, my 25-year-old Mac SE. I still have it and it still works.

Steve Jobs changed how we live and how we entertain ourselves. Let`s take a look at Fred Armisen as Steve Jobs on "Saturday Night Live" introducing the wonders of the iPhone.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

FRED ARMISEN, COMEDIAN: It holds over 150 kabillion contacts, flashlight, Starbucks, iGenie.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: iGenie?

ARMISEN: right. You rub it and it will grant you three iWishes.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Can`t wait to get one of these.

ARMISEN: iPhone. Everything you`ll ever need.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: How much battery life does it have?

ARMISEN: Twenty minutes.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Perfect. Look, I`m thinking, you know, if Steve Jobs stayed on the job a few more years, he would have figured out to have Starbucks coming out of our iPhones, Taryn.

TARYN WINTER BRILL, TV JOURNALIST: Right.

HAMMER: But seriously, Steve`s stepping down. There`s no app to fix this. How devastating is this?

BRILL: Well, I think it is devastating. Believe it or not, he is a part of pop culture. And full disclosure, I have to say I lost my father to pancreatic cancer about nine months ago, so I know firsthand how debilitating and devastating this disease is and how fast the deterioration is.

So the fact that he`s been working, A.J., in his capacity, you know, still steering the ship at Apple, is remarkable on so many levels. It`s amazing to me the bravery and strength this man had.

HAMMER: Yes. And fortunately, he`s staying with it.

BRILL: Yes.

HAMMER: He`s not going away.

BRILL: Yes.

HAMMER: Hollywood reacting big time to the news. Let me read a couple of tweets from Arnold Schwarzenegger, "Steve Jobs is one of California`s greatest innovators. Very few achieved his impact over the last 50 years and probably the next 100 years.

And this is from Alyssa Milano, who tweeted one of Jobs excellent quotes, "I want to put a ding in the universe." A great man. I hope he sticks around for a long, long time. And clearly, the impact on Hollywood felt as well. Taryn Winter Brill, thank you very much.

All right. We`ve got to move on to the SHOWBIZ lineup - here`s what`s coming up at the bottom of the hour on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

Caught on tape, a second Kardashian wedding? The shocking chatter revealed. Are the Kardashians anything but reality?

Inside the funeral of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" co-star Russell Armstrong. Lisa Gastineau was right there. She`s going to be right here to tell us exactly what went on in a headline-making SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

HAMMER: Big news breaking tonight on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT - a Kardashian wedding reality check? The shocking behind-the-scenes chatter revealed today about a third Kardashian wedding. Have we been keeping up with the totally fake Kardashians?

A very real goodbye. The "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" rallied around one of their own as Russell Armstrong is laid to rest. Tonight family friend and reality star, Lisa Gastineau, who was right there at the funeral, is right here with us sharing the intimate and emotional details.

Jim Carrey pledges his love to Emma Stone. He`s 49; she`s 22. Is Jim kidding or crossing the line? \

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It`s 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. We`ve got big news breaking today - SHOWBIZ on the scene.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT was right there in Los Angeles for the dramatic and heartbreaking funeral of Russell Armstrong, the estranged husband of Taylor Armstrong who stars in "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."

He committed suicide 10 days ago, and ever since, people have been saying the pressures of the show led him to killing himself.

With us tonight from Hollywood, Lisa Gastineau who attended the funeral. Lisa is a former star of the reality show, "Gastineau Girls." She`s also the creator of the Gastineau family jewelry line. I appreciate you being with us, Lisa.

I know several of Taylor`s co-stars also came to the funeral. I would have to imagine the atmosphere there was, somewhat surreal, particularly given Taylor`s claims that he abused her physically and mentally. What was the vibe like there?

LISA GASTINEAU, FOUNDER, GASTINEAU FAMILY JEWELRY: That was exactly the right word. "Surreal" would be the best way to describe it all. It was probably the saddest funeral I`ve ever been to because everyone`s feeling there - it felt like it was so preventable. It was so unnecessary.

When you hear of someone committing suicide, it`s not like someone dying of a disease. You just realize how someone was taken from you that was just so unnecessary.

HAMMER: And we`ve heard Taylor actually delivered the eulogy. What did she say? How emotional was she doing that?

GASTINEAU: Oh, god. I have chills just thinking. She was beyond despair. She wanted people - she talked about a piece of jewelry that Russell had given her when they first got married.

And she wanted people to remember the good things about Russell. I think that she wanted people to take away not the fact that she had filed or what we`ve been reading about lately in the press.

I think it was important for her to - and for everyone there to know that she loved him. She mourned him and she`s devastated.

HAMMER: Yes. Focusing on the positive.

GASTINEAU: She`s devastated.

HAMMER: We`ve been hearing, Lisa, so much about how devastated she has been. Did you have the opportunity to speak with her?

GASTINEAU: I did. I did, and if there`s anything that can break your heart, being with her and feeling this little tiny, tiny body convulsing, and I really worry. I really, really worry. I think she needs her friends more than ever.

You know, it`s a funny thing. You know, people go to a funeral and friends and co-stars and everyone says, you know, "We`re there for you." Unfortunately, everyone goes home and they live their lives.

And I worry about her. She`s got a little girl who is afraid that, you know, her father`s gone and maybe her mom could go or her dog or her nana and her friends. And it`s just the most heartbreaking thing I`ve ever witnessed.

HAMMER: Yes. And as you said, to so many people there, it seems so preventable. And of course, people are still really trying to understand exactly why he did kill himself.

Of course, a lot of people have been talking about how the stress of fame might have contributed to his depression.

In fact, another "Real Housewives" husband, Simon Barney, who was married to "Real Housewives of Orange County" star, Tamra Barney, says there`s truly a dark side to how they tape the "Real Housewives" shows that can make a person just unravel. I want to watch just what he told HLN`s own Dr. Drew.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DR. DREW PINSKY, HOST, "DR. DREW": What is it about these reality shows that have such a dark side?

SIMON BARNEY, REALITY TV STAR, "THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ORANGE COUNTY": You`ve got to understand what the object of the whole show - it`s for drama. So you know, they`re going to take the five percent of your life.

And yes, usually, it`s the bad side that`s dramatic and they`re going to exaggerate it to fulfill, you know, the pressures of the show, the networks, you know, the cast, the producers.

They`ve got an agenda, so, you know, that percentage of your life and it`s going to be shown in a way you probably don`t want it.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. Simon saying there that the show is the reason that his marriage ended and that it really had a negative impact on his life. Lisa, do you think that could have played into Russell Armstrong`s own relationship?

GASTINEAU: I think there are a lot of components on everything with reality. I have to say that, no, don`t blame the game. Blame the player. And I think that some people go in with certain expectations of what reality will give you.

They`re always thinking what they will give you. It also takes from you, and you have to be prepared when you enter the game of what the game is. I think that`s why a lot of people who had celebrity in some other form of life do better than people who are just, you know, doing other things and now are coming into the TV game.

HAMMER: Sure.

GASTINEAU: I just think that, you know, there are certain sets of expectations when you go into reality, and you have to be realistic. And you know, of course you`re making TV. Watching paint dry is not exciting. You know, storylines are exciting and conflict is exciting.

And you go into these things knowing these are going to occur. And you can`t think that, you know, it`s everybody else and not yourself. There is some kind of responsibility.

HAMMER: And the truth is, there is no handbook for how it`s done and, hopefully, shows will take greater responsibility now in explaining to people exactly what may happen as they go through the process of doing a show before they actually engage in it.

Russell`s own lawyer telling HLN`s Nancy Grace there were a lot of factors, as you were saying there, Lisa, that could have led to Russell suicide, including what they`re saying - what he`s saying the other cast members of the show. Let`s watch what he said.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

RONALD RICHARDS, RUSSELL ARMSTRONG`S ATTORNEY: He didn`t think it was going to get to the point where other housewives that weren`t a part of the marriage were going to start repeating sort of drunk, off-the-cuff comments by Taylor and defaming him in the second season and started to drive him crazy.

This may be the fact that it`s the combination of the defamation on the show and the ending of their marriage that drove him to suicide.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Let me bring in Rob Shuter who is the columnist for "PopEater.com." Rob, does it worry you that not enough people understand how reality shows really might be destroying lives as we may be seeing here?

SHUTER: I think we`re about to really get an inside look into reality shows that we`ve never seen before. What this suicide has done is opened up this entire debate. And now, shows like yours are having these discussions.

HAMMER: Which I think can only be a good thing. It`s a good point. As Lisa saying, I think it`s really eye-opening.

That`s not the only disturbing news in reality TV today. I want to move to this. TMZ is reporting there is evidence today that "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," brace yourselves for this now, it`s staged.

Ah! TMZ posting audio - I can`t believe I just screamed like a girl there. TMZ posting audio - the producer actually scripting a loving moment between Kourtney and Scott talking about how they should get married.

Here`s what the producer said, "Hey, we need to do a thing of Kourtney and Scott. I feel like love is in the air and they talk about, OK, fine, you know, we`ll get married of something."

And at the end of the tape, there`s a producer who joked that she`ll see everyone at Kourtney`s wedding. Lisa, look, you know first hand what it`s like to star in a reality show. You`ve been there, done that.

Does it surprise you at all, Lisa, that "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" might be scripted?

GASTINEAU: Let`s be fair here, guys. That tape was someone hacked into the walkie-talkies that were going between one production assistant and another. It`s sort of like the Rupert Everett calls (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

HAMMER: Yes, it`s true. And maybe Lisa, but to my point -

GASTINEAU: It also happened at Khloe`s wedding. But we also know that, you know, reality TV, if it`s 30 minutes or one hour of TV and so many things occur, and if there`s a really good moment that maybe a camera didn`t capture, they will ask you to redo something. You know, it`s happened before and it`s done in every single reality TV show, period.

HAMMER: And if somebody had a really good idea, maybe they`ll suggest it and make it actually happen.

GASTINEAU: Well, you know, they prod you along.

HAMMER: Oh, I`ve got to end it there, Lisa. Love you for being here, though. Lisa Gastineau, Rob Shuter, thank you both.

Moving on now, Jim Carrey pledges his love to 22-year-old starlet, Emma Stone. Now, he`s 49. The question is, is Jim kidding or is he crossing the line?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CARREY: This is a message for Emma Stone. And if I were a lot younger, I would marry you, and we would have chubby little freckle-faced kids.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: You will not believe how carried away Jim gets in this wild video.

As if that was not enough, we`ve got more crazy, creepy love news. Oh, yes, the 51-year-old "Lost" actor who married a 16-year-old singer plans to bring their love to your living room.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HUTCHISON: Fifty-one plus 16 equals love in our world.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Sexy love. Sexy love.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes, sexy love, huh? Do you think people are really going to watch these two on reality TV? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: They all have very different personalities. They are interested to see like who will buy, who will not. It seems like it`s a kind of hard not to talk about you as a groupie.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: What is she even talking about? What, are you a groupie like - are you?

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CARREY: This is a message for Emma Stone. Emma, I just want to let you know that I think you`re all the way beautiful. Not just pretty but, you know, smart and kind-hearted.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: OK. It looks like Jim Carrey has a major crush on "Crazy, Stupid Love" star, Emma Stone. But today, some are calling Carrey`s video love letter a crazy, stupid move. Wait until you see what else Carrey had to say to Emma.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. And tonight, Jim Carrey crossing the line?

Carrey sent Emma Stone a video love letter and while most of it is sweet and funny in a Jim Carrey kind of way, there are a few parts of this video that have some people raising an eyebrow today. Take a look.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CARREY: This is a message for Emma Stone. And if I were a lot younger, I would marry you and we would have chubby little freckle-faced kids. We`d laugh all year long, go camping and play Yatzi(ph) and tell ghost stories by the fire.

And the sex. And every day for the rest of your life, you would thank God that I was the appropriate age for you, and I`m not. I`m 49.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. So did Jim Carrey, who is 49, go a little too far by telling 22-year-old Emma Stone he wanted to have her have his baby?

With me right now, TV journalist, Taryn Winter Brill and Amanda Seales who is the host of "Music Choice."

Look, we know Jim is a comedian. We know the video is part of the launch of Carrey`s new Web site. And wow, look at this - we`re sitting here talking about it. But Taryn, did Jim Carrey go perhaps a little too far by confessing his love to Stone, who, quite frankly, let`s face it, is 27 years his junior, and talking about the sex and all that.

BRILL: I think with every comedian, we find ourselves asking, did they go too far? Did they cross the line? That`s a comedian`s job, to get us talking about it, to wonder. I have to say.

I`m watching it and watching it and laughing and laughing. And a point - this just got creepy. So I am one of those people - I`m like, it`s a little 50/50. But I think he succeeded. That`s what he`s supposed to do.

HAMMER: I think he knows exactly what`s he`s doing.

BRILL: Yes.

HAMMER: But let`s be absolutely sure. Let`s take a look at a little bit more at Carrey`s love confession. Carrey admits here that there are some downsides to dating a much-older man such as himself. Take a look at this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CARREY: I have lines on my face, sometimes a little gray in my beard. And it takes me a lot longer to pee than it used to. These are the only discernible signs of aging that I can find so far.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how I felt. I think you`re pretty special, and I wish you continued success and artistic fulfillment. But most of all, I wish you love and contentment. That`s all.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: I wasn`t sure what`s going to happen. I thought he was going to break out into Whitney Houston`s "I Will Always Love You."

Now, that would have been a sweet gesture. What he was saying - you know, it`s still creepy to some people. Amanda, what do you think is going on right now with Emma Stone? Is she creeped out by this or is she swooning all over it and maybe she`s going to call up Jim and say, "Hey, let`s give it a go"?

SEALES: Yes, right. No. I don`t think Emma can be easily swooned. I think, you know, I hope that she, like myself and all of us here, is just laughing, because it`s hilarious. I kind of think it might be a prank maybe? I don`t know.

HAMMER: I mean, I`d call publicity stunt (UNINTELLIGIBLE) sure. Frankly, I don`t know. All right. Let`s hope they live happily ever after and move on now to a Hollywood star who is not letting a little age difference get in the way of love.

Fifty-one-year-old "Lost" actor, Doug Hutchison made headlines recently after he married 16-year-old singer, Courtney Stodden. Now, the couple is now planning to take their unconventional love to reality TV, of course. Check out what the two love birds told the morning show in Australia.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HUTCHISON: We`ve been seduced by a lot of producers wanting to do a reality TV show. And we`re in negotiations right now with a very prominent with a very prominent producer. And we`re talking about the possibility of taking it network. So, yes, we are -

COURTNEY STODDEN, DOUG HUTCHISON`S WIFE: We are - yes, we are. And we have paired up with an amazing production team, so stay tuned for that. It`s going to be a reality show like no other.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Promising it will be a reality show like no other. Now, Taryn, obviously, there is a certain train wreck factor going on here. But do you think people are really going to want to tune in to see these two on a reality show?

BRILL: I don`t know. I think it depends on the network. If it`s on, let`s say, Oxygen, not so much. If it`s on Bravo, maybe. It depends on how big the network and how many viewers. This is creepy. Forget Jim Carrey. Very creepy.

HAMMER: Amanda, you`re not into the creep factor here? You`re not tuning into a reality show with a 51-year-old and a 16-year-old?

SEALES: No. How far are they going to take this? You know, he was creepy on "Lost," and now, he`s creepy in person. And she is not 16.

BRILL: Yes, can we see a birth certificate, by the way. Let`s pull a Trump. I want a certificate.

SEALES: I mean, I know they say this (UNINTELLIGIBLE). But this is out of hand. She`s 16.

HAMMER: Let`s not start another birther movement. Thank you both so much. Taryn Winter Brill and Amanda Seales, I appreciate it.

Well, Zoe Saldana`s real-life revenge strategy. Now, the beautiful actress stars as an assassin in the new movie, "Columbiana."

She`s kicking butt and taking names in this action flick as she avenges the death of her parents. But when it comes to getting back at someone who has wronged her, Zoe tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT why she doesn`t need to pack in the heat. Watch this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ZOE SALDANA, ACTRESS: When somebody told me the best revenge you can have on someone or something is to ignore it, to have that cease to exist. Well, my mom taught me to - always after a bad breakup - you know, cry, have your ice cream, do whatever. But when you`re ready, go and buy yourself the most amazing red pumps you can ever have.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: She likes the shopping. The ultimate revenge there. Zoe`s new movie is called "Columbiana" and it opens on Friday.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Tonight, the real reason Simon Cowell left "American Idol." Now, we all know he made a fortune helping to bring "Idol" across the pond from the U.K.

But apparently, the bundle he made - it wasn`t big enough. Simon is worth an estimated - ready - $254 million. But he wanted more. Simon tells "The Hollywood Reporter" he wanted more power and control and he thought that he was worth more than the $35 million he was paid as an "Idol" judge.

Simon`s friend and judge on his new show, "X Factor," Paula Abdul also left over a ridiculous amount of cash. Paula reportedly walked away from a cool $5 million deal at "Idol" because she was demanding $10 million. I guess the word "recession" doesn`t mean anything in Hollywood.

And SHOWBIZ breaks news with director Kevin Smith. What was the creepy inspiration for his new movie? And the son of two Hollywood legends is sent to rehab again. That story tops "The Buzz Today."

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice-over) Redmond O`Neal`s rehab relief. The troubled son of Ryan O`Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett has just narrowly skirted a jail sentence, thanks to a generous judge.

"People.com" reports Redmond pleaded no contest to heroin and gun possession charges in a L.A. court Wednesday and was sent into a year-long treatment program instead of serving more time behind bars.

The judge warned Redmond he`ll go directly to prison if he`s arrested again and also put him on probation for five years.

A very Brady divorce. Former "Brady Bunch" kid, Christopher Knight has just officially called it quits on his marriage. Knight and his reality star wife, Adrianne Curry, announced they were separating in May.

But now Knight wants to end it for good and has just filed for divorce according to TMZ. Chris and Adrianne married five years ago after meeting on "The Surreal Life."

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT breaks news - Kevin Smith is opening up to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT about his new film, "Red State." And the always no-holds-barred director reveals to us how he brought his very own special way with the ladies to his new movie.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KEVIN SMITH, MOVIE DIRECTOR: I think I could bring that to work in the movie and creep you out any time.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: Breaking on Thursday. Did she or didn`t she? JWoww`s new look has got people talking tonight. She sets the record straight about having work done on her face.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Jwoww`s new face? The "Jersey Shore" star is lashing out at people who claim she rearranged her face, not because she`s been fighting with her cast mates.

There have been reports today that Jwoww got plastic surgery. I want you to take a look at this. On the left, there`s Jwoww, how she looked during the first season of "Jersey Shore." On the right, Jwoww now.

There really is a significant difference there, isn`t it? Well, she tells "In Touch" magazine, "People are saying I got cheek implants, my chin shaved down and a nose job. I lost 15 pounds and my cheeks have become more defined. If I got work done, I would be open to talking about it. I didn`t."

Well, that is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Thanks for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. You can catch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusively Monday to Friday at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific right here on HLN.
