HAMMER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show breaks news right now.

(MUSIC)

Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with big news breaking tonight - no joke. No one would argue there`s absolutely nothing funny about the disgusting child sex abuse scandal that has rocked Penn State.

Assistant football coach, Jerry Sandusky, accused of sexually abusing young boys for years. If you thought it might have been the last thing "Saturday Night Live" would play for laughs, well, you`d be wrong.

Jason Sudeikis has played the devil on "SNL" this weekend during "Weekend Update" with Seth Myers, and the devil was disgusted at what happened.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JASON SUDEIKIS, COMEDIAN: So where did the coach find his victims?

SETH MYERS, COMEDIAN: Oh, man, well, he created a kids charity.

SUDEIKIS: Are you kidding me? What in my hometown are you talking about? Are you hearing this? Are you hearing this? Oh, you know what -

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes, sure, it got lots of laughs. Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has got to ask, was it too soon to joke about this?

Joining me tonight from the State College in Pennsylvania, Jean Casarez, who is a correspondent for "In Session" on our sister network, Tru TV.

Jean, to be perfectly clear here, "SNL" was not making fun of what happened to the children who were sexually abused.

The show was really trying to drive home how despicable Jerry Sandusky is if he did commit these terrible crimes. But it was done against the backdrop of a lot of laughter. Let`s watch a bit more.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SUDEIKIS: You know who I feel bad for? Joe Paterno. You know, to have evil like that in your midst and not even know about it.

MYERS: Oh -

SUDEIKIS: Not another oh. I hate the oh`s. What`s going on?

MYERS: It turns out the abuse was initially reported to Joe Paterno.

SUDEIKIS: OK. Who went straight to the police, yes?

MYERS: No.

SUDEIKIS: Ah! Come on. Are you serious? Come on. Joe Pa. Joe Pa. A cover-up? This is college football, not the Catholic Church. Oh, I`m sorry that it happened or that I reminded of you of it?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Jean, I know you`re right there at Penn State. I imagine nobody is laughing there on the campus, so here`s our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - was it too soon for "SNL" to make fun of the Penn State abuse scandal? What do you think?

JEAN CASAREZ, CORRESPONDENT, "IN SESSION": Well, you know, being right here in the center of all of it, I`ll tell you, the students at Penn State - they don`t like the attention.

They don`t like the media here. They don`t want any significance to their university and they`re really concerned with Joe Pa, the coach that is legendary, just out and out being fired, Joe Paterno. That seems to be their focus, not the alleged sexual molestation of young boys.

HAMMER: So it`s hard to imagine how they are feeling, first with all of the media attention over the last couple weeks. And now "Saturday Night Live," an iconic show, featuring them in this sketch.

And I can tell you, the passion over the scandal and the "SNL" skit spilled right over on to our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook page today. We were flooded with comments.

I want to get to a couple. Jenny V. writing, "Too soon. The victims were just babies. Their lives are forever changed. I don`t think it would ever be the right time for jokes."

Stephon M. who tells us he liked the sketch, writing, "If you saw the sketch, you saw that it was basically saying how horrific the situation was, so bad that even the devil himself wouldn`t take credit for it and they did it with humor."

Now, clearly, Jean, people are divided over this. The sex abuse scandal has just struck such a universal chord, hasn`t it?

CASAREZ: And the news keeps breaking. I mean, today, the Second Mile, the CEO, is voluntarily resigning. That, of course, is the charity organization that Jerry Sandusky founded in 1977.

The governor of the state said today at a high school not far from here that he would have had a larger bail for Jerry Sandusky. And the students, for them, it`s just a day in classes.

HAMMER: All right. Jean Casarez, thank you so much. It cannot be overstated how much of this scandal has turned so many lives upside down and is devastating the Penn State college football team as well.

In fact, today, we learned advertisers are actually pulling commercials from Penn State games on TV as this whole thing rocks the sports world.

With me tonight in New York, Adrienne Maloof, the co-owner of a major sports franchise, of course, NBA Sacramento Kings. Adrienne is here with her husband, Dr. Paul Nassif. They both star, of course, in the hit reality show, "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."

Good to see you both. I appreciate you being here. And Adrienne, I`m very curious to get your take on this. We see what`s going on at Penn State.

We see how this scandal has ripped this team apart and their franchise, really, virtually overnight. What went through your mind when you heard all about this?

ADRIENNE MALOOF, CO-OWNER, SACRAMENTO KINGS: First and foremost, such a horrible, horrible situation. I have three little boys. I can`t imagine how horrific this must be for these innocent children.

So I think that being a mother, and being a sports owner, this is absolutely uncalled for. And, you know -

HAMMER: It`s tough to talk about.

MALOOF: Yes.

HAMMER: I mean, I find this - at the dinner table, we start talking about it because it`s the hot-button issue of the moment, yet we have difficulty finding the words. Dr. Paul, you know, we`re seeing all this collateral damage.

We said, as we learned today, they`re losing advertising. The team is going down the tubes because of the incredible actions of these people who were so stupid. How do you react to this?

DR. PAUL NASSIF, REALITY TV STAR, "THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS": Well, I mean, picture if you`re sitting there, and let`s say - Joe Paterno is a great coach.

However, he really made a serious mistake. He ruined his career. I mean, if you`re sitting there and someone walks up to you and says, "A 10-year- old boy is being sodomized," what are you going to do?

The first you want to do is stop it, call the police, do whatever you can. Stop it yourself. That`s ridiculous.

HAMMER: I don`t understand how people don`t get it. Let`s talk about your show, "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." Now, of course, the newest episode aired tonight.

Just a short time ago we got to see a very tense moment when the housewives confronted Taylor Armstrong about claims her husband, Russell, had abused her.

And as we know, Russell committed suicide this past August. All of this made for a very uncomfortable conversation between the housewives. Let`s watch what happened.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: We`re all protecting you.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: We all protected you.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: About my marriage?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: What you told us about your marriage.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: How could somebody live with somebody that is so horrific?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: If you can`t be my friend, just please don`t be my enemy.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: We don`t say that he hit you. We don`t say that, but now we said it.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Wow. Well, Taylor and Russell`s troubled marriage, as we know, has been a running story line. What we also know that since Russell`s suicide, a lot of people have criticized the show for bringing up Russell and Taylor`s problems, saying, you know what? All of that should have been cut out of the show after his suicide.

Adrienne, do you think - you and I never had this conversation. Do you think that criticism is fair, especially now that the season is wearing on and we`re all getting to see this?

MALOOF: I actually think that bravo did the right thing and continued to air the show. People want to see Russell and what happened along the way, so they want to know, they want to see the face behind the story.

And, again, it`s not reality TV that`s to blame. It just happened on reality television.

HAMMER: OK. And you`re saying you think Bravo did the right thing. Dr. Paul, what`s your take? Because you have a different perspective, a husband on the show, with your point of view on this.

A lot of people said the whole thing should have been canceled. The season shouldn`t have gone on at all. What do you make of that?

NASSIF: Well, you know, I absolutely disagree. First of all, I don`t feel hat the show caused any of this. And every time that we would see Russell, always positive how great things were, how everything was - actually the show was helping him financially.

I mean, behind the scenes, obviously, there were numerous problems, numerous financial - possibly some other issues that none of us know about.

And I think that Bravo did the right thing by showing this is reality and this has happened. But I don`t feel it`s from the show at all.

HAMMER: OK. Fair enough. Well, there`s more big news breaking in the reality world outside of your show. This surrounds, who else, the lovely Kim Kardashian.

Now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT confirmed today Kim is launching a legal war against a former man in her life. It is not her soon to be ex-husband, Kris Humphries.

She`s unleashing her attorney against a guy named Jonathan Jackson. Now, he claims to be her former publicist. Jackson has been saying wild things about Kim as he tries to sell a tell-all book.

And he has said things, among other things, that he and Kim cooked up a fake engagement to her then-boyfriend, Reggie Bush. Now, Kim has said she`s had enough.

Today, her attorney told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that Jackson was never Kim`s official publicist. She barely remembers him. Kim`s going to court, looking for an injunction to shut him up altogether and she wants a $200,000 judgment against Jackson for violating a confidentiality agreement. I can certainly understand why she`d want that.

Look, I know if somebody goes after you, the immediate urge is to fight back. But I`m thinking, by going to war with this guy so publicly, Kim is giving him, I don`t know, another day or two or more of headlines.

This is our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - is Kim just making things worse? Adrienne, what do you think?

MALOOF: I think he needs to be held accountable. I can`t imagine my publicist doing something so disgraceful.

HAMMER: And, again, she`s saying, "I don`t remember this guy and he wasn`t really my publicist".

MALOOF: And your publicist, you`re supposed to rely on and trust. So I think actually making a point of the situation, I commend her for doing that.

HAMMER: Adrienne, Dr. Paul, great to have you both here. Thank you so much.

NASSIF: Thanks for having us.

MALOOF: Thank you.

Tonight, brand-new photos of Jennifer Lopez with a much younger guy. Has J-Lo rebounded after her split from Marc Anthony? What`s going on here?

Also, Kat Von D`s astounding new cheating claims against Sandra Bullock`s ex, Jesse James. Kat is saying Jesse cheated on her with nearly 20 women. But you know, should she really be surprised?

SHOWBIZ breaks big Regis news tonight with Nick Lachey. Regis Philbin says good-bye to "Live" this week. Does Nick want the job?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

(on camera) What if they came to you and said, "You know what, Nick Lachey, we`d like to offer you the job on a permanent basis." How would you feel about that?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The winner of "Survivor Africa" -

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: That is reality star Ethan Zohn, the champion of "Survivor Africa," in the memorable million-dollar moment right there. Really a remarkable victory.

Now, the real life survivor is once again facing the fight of his life.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. And tonight, miracle man. I got to tell you, I have so much admiration for this guy.

Ethan just ran the grueling 26.2 mile New York City marathon. He did it in just over four hours while on a chemotherapy treatment. Just days before running the marathon, Ethan learned he`d have to fight cancer for a second time.

Ethan is joining me in New York. He`s the co-founder of Grassroots Soccer and national ambassador for Stand Up to Cancer. Ethan is here for a SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview. It`s a pleasure to meet you.

I mean, your story is unbelievable to me and it`s astonishing that you decided to go ahead with the New York City marathon. I know that was still very important for you to do.

But 26.2 miles after you had just found out a couple weeks before that your Hodgkins lymphoma had come back, what went through your mind when you got the news this time around? I can`t even begin to imagine.

ETHAN ZOHN, NATIONAL AMBASSADOR, STAND UP TO CANCER: I mean, I beat it the first time. And I`m thinking, all right, my life`s going great. You know, I`m living, moving forward. TV shows, "Amazing Race" - all this stuff.

And then, bang, slap in the face all over again. And obviously, the anger and frustration and, you know, I`m scared and just - I just didn`t want to go through this again, really.

HAMMER: But you did it - the marathon anyway.

ZOHN: Yes.

HAMMER: And you finished and we`re looking at these amazing pictures.

ZOHN: There it is.

HAMMER: And so you`re in treatment now. We were just talking a moment ago. You feel good?

ZOHN: I feel good. I`m on this, you know, new chemotherapy called SGN-35. It`s a smart targeted therapy, so in terms of, you know, how the side effects are, it`s not as bad.

HAMMER: It`s not dragging you down.

ZOHN: I`m not going to lose my hair, which is a good thing.

HAMMER: And I have to say, only knowing you for a short time now, you haven`t seemed to have lost your positive outlook, which is always a fantastic thing.

And you`re involved with so much. You`re an ambassador for Stand Up for Cancer, as I mentioned. Your non-profit group, which called Grassroots Soccer, that helps to stop the spread of HIV.

Such an inspiring example for young people. And I`m so glad you`re getting that message out. And so many people are wondering how you got through the race on the chemo treatment.

ZOHN: Yes. I was training up to this point, right? And so I`m not going to let something like silly little diagnosis of cancer slow me down. So of course, I`m going to run the marathon.

We have a team of 70 runners and we raised over $220,000 for Grassroots Soccer which is great. I mean, I just really wanted to send, like, the message of hope to people out there.

If you`re going through a similar situation, don`t let cancer slow you down. You know, don`t let it sideline you, you know, like take advantage - be empowered by it. Use all that anger and frustration and turn it against it.

You know, I wrote "F" cancer on my shoes and was running on it the whole race. It was just that positive mindset, the gladiator attitude you need to have going through stuff like this.

HAMMER: And of course, we saw you on "Survivor."

ZOHN: Yes.

HAMMER: And we saw you on "Amazing Race" with your lovely girlfriend, Jenna. Has being involved in those shows somehow helped you internally with your battle?

ZOHN: Yes. I mean, for you, going public with something like this was a little bit of a tough decision, like it`s really gross, disgusting time of your life.

You wouldn`t know what happened if you opened your life to complete strangers. But I realized that sharing my story or maybe the details of my life might have the power to heal others out there.

And by going on the shows, I have an incredible, like, fan support, all of the "Survivor Fans," the "Amazing Race" fans. And their response to this has been overwhelming. So many people praying for me, cheering for me, rooting for me. It`s been unbelievable.

HAMMER: Well, they always say it`s all about the energy you have from within and that comes from without. And you clearly have a lot of people rooting for you. Ethan, it`s great to meet you. Thank you so much for being with us. I appreciate it.

ZOHN: Thank you. Pleasure.

HAMMER: Got to move on to J-Lo`s new love. Jennifer Lopez just spotted out on the town getting cozy with a backup dancer who`s nearly 20 years younger than her. Has she found a new love?

And Brad Pitt drops a bombshell about his future in Hollywood. Wait until you hear this - Brad making a shocking revelation, coming up.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minute past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with big news breaking tonight - J-Lo`s new idol?

Has Jennifer Lopez found a new love? Well, there are reports today J-Lo is heating things up with a much younger man. His name is Casper Smart and he`s a backup dancer on one of her videos.

He`s 24 years old and he`s nearly half of her age. J-Lo is 42. Jennifer, of course, famously married and quickly divorced another backup dancer, Chris Judd.

That was before her marriage to Marc Anthony. Well, since the bombshell news of their divorce, J-Lo fans have been waiting on words of her next big love. So here`s our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint. Is there anything wrong with J-Lo dating a much younger man?

With me in New York is a very famous couple, Dr. Paul Nassif and Adrienne, stars, of course, of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."

I`ve been waiting to dig in to this with these guys. I`m very excited. Let`s have at it. She`s beautiful. She`s successful. She`s at the top of her game as one of the most sought after women in Hollywood.

So I`m not surprised the younger guys want her, Adrienne. But to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, anything at all wrong with J-Lo dating a much younger guy?

MALOOF: Absolutely not. And in fact, maybe they have something in common. They both dance, so common interest there.

HAMMER: OK. Now, Dr. Paul, we often hear about the double standard, the older men with the younger women. You know, you certainly are married to a woman who looks, you know, 24 years old.

NASSIF: Absolutely.

HAMMER: You look - you both look fantastic. But what do you think? Is there anything wrong with it at all?

NASSIF: All the power to her. You know, I think no matter - if a man can do it with a young lady and vice versa, why not? I think as long as they`re happy. That`s what`s important.

HAMMER: I almost said you`re married to a woman that looks half your age and realized, how`s that going to make you feel? No, seriously -

HAMMER: She does look a good 15, 20 years younger than me.

HAMMER: But listen - I agree. And of course, when everybody thinks - when people think of a singer, dancer, with a younger guy, we think of, who else? Madonna.

And maybe J-Lo is taking a page out of the Madonna playbook. Madonna is dating guy in his 20s. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT just obtained brand-new pictures of Madonna out at a party last night having a great time.

Now, keep in mind, Madonna is 53 years old. She`s out there. She`s wearing short leather pants. She`s got a sexy blouse on. I think she looks great.

Her boyfriend is 23 and he was right there with her all night long. Adrienne, some women are put off by this. They tell me that they are. Is there anything wrong with that?

MALOOF: Again, same scenario. If she`s happy with him, she`s got a smoking body. She looks amazing.

HAMMER: Yes.

MALOOF: She`s happy with him. God bless her. She`s not hurting anybody. All the power to her.

HAMMER: It`s cliche, but age is just a number, right?

MALOOF: Age is just a number, thank god.

HAMMER: Let`s get to his other big news breaking today. We have new stunning revelations today from Kat Von D all about her roller coaster relationship with Sandra Bullock`s cheating ex, Jesse James.

She put a brand-new post on Facebook when she rips into Jesse for all to see. And she`s revealing shocking new details about the messy break up.

She says Jesse cheated on her with 19 different women and she goes on to say, "I kept going back and forth in my mind as to what the best way would be for me to release and let go of any residual feelings remaining from that toxic relationship."

Clearly, she feels like a woman scorned. I get that. But some people would say she had to know this was coming, given particularly that Jesse got dumped by Sandra Bullock for the very same reason.

That brings us to our next SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, should it be any a surprise to Kat Von D. that Jesse cheated? What do you think, Paul?

NASSIF: I mean, Jesse was dating America`s sweetheart, Sandra Bullock, and he`s had the infidelity at that point. She should not be surprised at all.

HAMMER: I don`t get it. I don`t understand why - I don`t know. It`s very strange to me. But Jesse`s been in relationships, when you think about it, with beautiful women in Hollywood.

These women obviously see something special in him. What I don`t get why so many of them don`t see this type of thing coming. It happened to Sandra. It happened to Kat.

What are they missing? Why did they go into it knowing this is probably going to happen but for some reason think it won`t?

MALOOF: Maybe they`re attracted to bad boys. Some women just seem to follow that same pattern and they like the bad boy. And clearly, that could be a situation with Kat.

HAMMER: What do you think, Paul? I mean, do you think these women are under this illusion that, "Oh, I`m going to be the one to break the spell, to break the pattern and all of a sudden he`ll be faithful to me?"

NASSIF: I absolutely agree with you. I mean, this was a complete illusion. A tiger is not going to lose his stripes. Just not going to happen.

HAMMER: Well, it`s going to be very interesting to see who in the dating pool is going to have after him again especially given, you know, what Kat Von D. is revealing. Nineteen women. I mean, can you imagine being cheated on with somebody who`s with 19 women?

NASSIF: Especially in a short period of time.

HAMMER: Get some Purell, please. Thank you, Adrienne Maloof, Dr. Paul Nassif. Great to see you. Make sure you check out "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" on Bravo.

As we move on tonight, "Twilight" answers. Thousands of you camped out for the big red carpet premiere of "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part I," which just happened tonight in Hollywood.

Millions of you set new world records, buying presale tickets for the movie`s opening on Friday. But there`s one thing you can only do right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are answering questions that you posted on our Facebook wall. Hey, maybe you made the cut. Here`s SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Nischelle Turner.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

NISCHELLE TURNER, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT CORRESPONDENT: You know, we have - a lot of our fans at SHOWBIZ TONIGHT and yours wrote in with questions. Can I ask you a couple fan questions?

KRISTEN STEWART, ACTRESS: Yes.

TURNER: OK. So I guess the first one is from Pamela R. and she says, "Would you ever willingly be a part of another series of movies based on books?"

STEWART: Yes. I mean, absolutely. I mean, it depends on the series, but yes, definitely.

TURNER: There could never be another this, though, do you think?

STEWART: It would be - I really doubt it. Yes. This thing`s pretty unique.

TURNER: And Angela P. says, "If `Twilight` was never made, where do you see yourself right now?"

STEWART: Let me see. Right before I did "Twilight," I was - I auditioned for "Twilight" while I was doing a movie called "Adventureland."

If I hadn`t gotten the part, I mean, it would have been just the most normal - maybe I would have never gotten another job. Who knows?

But I luckily haven`t been able - I haven`t, like, missed any opportunities. I`ve been able to do really small stuff that I really care about just as much as I care about this thing.

And hopefully, I`d still be doing that except this wouldn`t be involved, you know. You wouldn`t have heard about "The Runaways," you know what I mean?

TURNER: There was a report out recently that you said during the wedding scene it was so real you guys actually got married. True? False?

ROBERT PATTINSON, ACTOR: I mean, it was - I thought - and I`m pretty sure I`m certain about this - there was a real priest there and he had kind of a - you know, he had kind of a short term memory lapse and so he kept forgetting the characters` names and kind of mixed this up with our real names.

It kind of started as a joke. They were saying, you know, probably we got married. I really don`t know what the technicalities are of actually getting married. But I just assumed it may be true in some world.

TURNER: Can I ask you a question from one of our fans of SHOWBIZ TONIGHT? OK, so Donna F. says, "`Twilight` has been such a huge part of your career. Are you sad to see the saga coming to an end?"

PATTINSON: Yes, definitely. It`s kind of - it`s not just my career. It`s just years and years of familiarity. I mean, I kind of - I spent full months in Vancouver or wherever or Louisiana in this makeup and in these costumes with the same people for years.

And I`m growing up with them. So it`s kind of like leaving school. It`s like leaving high school. There`s four years of it, so it`s pretty sad. But I`m still great friends with a majority of people.

TURNER: A lot of fans of the movie, we had them write into SHOWBIZ TONIGHT to give us some fan questions. Do you mind if I ask you a couple questions from folks who want to go and see the movie?

TAYLOR LAUTNER, ACTOR: Yes.

TURNER: OK. The first one is from Marcia V. and she says, "I`m a huge fan. What was your favorite scene to shoot?"

LAUTNER: We were just talking about this, but honestly, it was the birth scene, because we did everything. We did not hold back. We shot it all at once and, you know, as seen in the final movie - I mean, that`s what (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

TURNER: And Pamela R. says, "Would you ever willingly be a part of another series of movies based on books?"

LAUTNER: Yes, yes. I mean, I have nothing against it. It would definitely have to be the right thing and the right character, but no - no limitations.

TURNER: What movies do you like to watch?

LAUTNER: I`m all over the place with my taste. I mean, just off the top of my head, my favorite movies of all-time, "Brave Heart," "Gladiator."

TURNER: You`re such a dude.

LAUTNER: I know. They are dude movies, but they also have a soft side to them as well. It`s a good mix. So you know, and then I can - OK, to make you happy, "The Notebook."

TURNER: Love it.

LAUTNER: Is that better?

TURNER: That`s why we love you.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: It`s hard for me to believe you don`t know this but the "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I" will open this Friday. I want you to pick your (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

REGIS PHILBIN, CO-HOST, "LIVE WITH REGIS AND KELLY": It`s a Monday, November 14th, 2011, the beginning of our last week together, and down the stretch we come.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: It`s Regis Philbin, this morning counting down his final week on "Live with Regis and Kelly." Can you believe it`s already here?

Well, tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT breaks news that Nick Lachey is ready and willing to replace Regis.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. SHOWBIZ breaks news about who could replace Reg.

Well, Nick Lachey, who now hosts the "Sing Off" on NBC, has just revealed to me what he would say if he was asked to replace Regis Philbin.

With me right now in New York, the lovely Tatyana Ali. Tatyana, of course, is the star of "Love That Girl" on TV 1. In Hollywood tonight, Hyla, who is the co-host of the nationally syndicated radio show, "The Hollywood 5 Countdown."

Guys, we know there have been so many names batted around about who might take the seat next to Kelly Ripa after Regis` run is done over there on "Live."

But watch what Nick Lachey told me when I asked him, "What would you do, Nick, if you were approached to replace Regis?"

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

(on camera) Nick, I`ve got to ask you, were they to only to you and say, "You know what, Nick Lachey, we`d like to offer you that job on a permanent basis," how would you feel about that? Would you take it on?

NICK LACHEY, HOST, "SING OFF": You know what? I`ve had a great time. I`ve had the opportunity to co-host with Kelly probably five, six, seven times over the years. And each and every time, it`s a blast.

I adore her as she knows and love being a part of that show. It`s just a great group there in New York. So if, you know - hypothetically speaking, if the opportunity were to present itself, that would be - that would be very intriguing for me. Yes, I enjoy being a part of that up there.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Of course, I did ask him if they`ve actually asked him and he was kind of coy about that, Tatyana. But I actually think he would be terrific at the gig.

TATYANA ALI, ACTRESS: I think he`d be really great. I don`t - I would not have foreseen him saying, "No, I don`t want that job." It`s like the best job. I mean -

HAMMER: But you think he`d fit right in?

ALI: I think he would. Kelly`s so, like, fantastic and fun -

HAMMER: Yes.

ALI: And out there. I think he has the right personality to kind of balance her out.

HAMMER: You know, Hyla, you can be a little jaded about these things. Well, I`m dying to know what you think. I never actually thought about Nick Lachey taking over for Regis full time until we started talking about it, he and I. What do you think?

HYLA, HOST, "THE HOLLYWOOD 5 COUNTDOWN": Oh, I think he`d be fantastic. And let me interpret his words, because I think he was political about it. I think what he meant to say is heck, "Heck, yes, I will do this show in a heartbeat to fill in for Regis."

It`s such a dream gig. You know what? He does a great job on the "sing off." And that`s a show that`s a little bit more structured in the way, you know, that the host has to be.

With Kelly, he`s just got to be conversational. And there`s a reason they`ve asked him back five, six, seven times. So I actually think he has a really good chance at this.

HAMMER: Oh, it would be really interesting to see if anything actually comes of it. And over the next few weeks, of course, you`re going to have a lot of people keeping the co-host chair warm until a decision is finally made.

Jerry Seinfeld is going to be sitting in. I don`t think he`d take the job full time. However, this is what we`re asking in our SHOWBIZ exclusive poll, "Regis Philbin`s Last Week on "Live with Regis and Kelly": Who should replace him?"

Look at the choices we`re giving you. Nick Lachey - how about Kelly Ripa`s husband, Mark Consuelos? I`ve always thought that would be a great choice. What about Jerry Seinfeld? No way he`d do it, but what about it? I think he`d be great at it also.

You can vote at "HLNTV.com/ShowbizTonight" E-mail us at "showbiztonight@HLNTV.com." So I mean, think about it. Almost hard to imagine morning TV without our Regis.

Now, let me ask you this. Can you imagine Brat Pitt not acting? Well, in a brand-new interview with "60 Minutes" Australian, Brad Pitt dropped a bombshell.

He revealed he actually wants to quit acting when he turns 50. I`m here to tell you that`s just three years away. I did the math.

He says, "I`m enjoying the producing side and development of stories and putting those pieces together. Getting stories to the plate that might have had a tougher time otherwise."

Only three more years to see Brad Pitt on the big screen. And Tatyana, are you buying it though.

ALI: I mean, what a shame. I`m sure everything that he`s doing behind the camera is really important. But I love watching Brad Pitt. I mean, I think we all do and that would be missed. He would be sorely missed.

HAMMER: OK, he`d be missed, but are you buying it? Hyla, what`s your take? Do you think he`s just kind of chatting right now?

HYLA: No way. I`m not buying this at all. Anyone who`s great at their craft, they always say they want to retire. And once they`re sitting on the beach for about a year, they`re like, "Wait a minute, I want to get back into acting again."

I completely believe him that he loves producing. He might even do some directing, kind of like be a Clint Eastwood in Hollywood. But to say that he`s never going to act again?

You try and tell me if they put together another "Oceans" movie and they throw $20 million in his lap to hang out with George? Come on.

HAMMER: Yes, yes. I`m not buying it either. All right. Got to move on right now to Justin Timberlake, another good guy in Hollywood. He`s making good on his word at attending the Marine Corps ball in Virginia over the weekend.

Justin went on a date with Cpl. Kelsey De Santis. Now, Kelsey famously invited Justin to be her date in a YouTube video last July. Let`s take a look at that.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CPL. KELSEY DE SANTIS, UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS: Justin, you want to call out my girl, Amelia? Well, I`m going to call you out and ask you to come to the Marine Corps ball with me. And if you can`t go, all I have to say is, cry me a river.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Cry me a river. OK. Well, Justin said yes. She didn`t have to cry a river. Nobody had to cry a river. He went to the ball Saturday. He says he had a blast.

Today, Justin posted a great message on his Web site to all servicemen and women. Let me read it to you, a bit of it anyway, "I knew I would have an evening that I wouldn`t forget, something I could tell my friends about. What I didn`t know was how moved I`d be by the whole experience."

Wow, Justin is such a class act, in fact, such a class act I`m wondering, is he the new George Clooney? Hyla, Tatyana, stay right where you are.

Time for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - these are more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.

TEXT: Kim Kardashian`s sis, Kendall Jenner, gets $90,000 Range Rover for 16th birthday. "Mike and Molly`s" Melissa McCarthy tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT she wants to host the Oscars.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: In the future?

MELISSA MCCARTHY, ACTRESS: In the future? Sure, why not. I`ll never say no to anything.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I think it would be great.

MCCARTHY: It could be fun.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: So Justin Timberlake made good on his word over the weekend when he attended the Marine Corps ball. He was invited by a female Marine to be her date, and he went. And after the dance, Justin posted a really fantastic message to all servicemen and women on his Web site.

Back with me now, Tatyana Ali, who is the star of "Love that Girl" on TV 1.

You can tell Justin was really affected by meeting the Marines at this ball. I want you to listen to what he wrote on his Web site.

He said, "I met so many of my heroes from Michael Jordan to Michael Jackson, and nothing makes me feel more honor and pride than when I get to meet one of you. Last night changed my life and I will never forget it."

I see that and I`m thinking, you know, Justin Timberlake has been involved with so many amazing things in his life. But this seems even bigger than anything he`s done.

He`s really stepping outside of the boundaries of the regular Hollywood crowd. Dare I say, it reminds me a bit of George Clooney and that sort of very classy, not-above-it-all Hollywood personality that George has.

What do you think, Tatyana? Is Justin Timberlake the new George Clooney?

ALI: I think he could be. I think he`s this - he`s making a name for himself that`s way beyond his music and even his acting. He`s kind of - he went completely outside of his box and had an experience that is amazing.

I think - I don`t know, I just like him as a person anyway. I know him and he`s an amazing guy. And this is - he`s letting other people know just how wonderful he really is.

HAMMER: Have you met the George Clooney before?

ALI: The George Clooney? No, I have not met the George Clooney.

(CROSS TALK)

HAMMER: Do you think it is fair to say, having known Justin - I don`t now how long you`ve known him now, but knowing him a bit, would you say he`s one of the nicest guy in Hollywood?

ALI: Oh, he`s definitely sweet. He`s a sweetheart.

HAMMER: See, right there. So that huge qualification, if you want to be the next George Clooney or new George Clooney, nicest guy in Hollywood. Tatyana Ali, great to see you. Thanks so much.

ALI: Thank you, too.

HAMMER: Make sure you catch her great show, "Love that Girl" on TV 1.

We must move now to Snooki`s sexcapades with The Situation.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

POLIZZI: Mike is disgusting. He treats women like they`re a piece of garbage.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Why is our favorite pint-sized actress - did I call her an actress? Oops. Je ne sais quois - a princess. She`s a princess. The lovely Snooki. We`ll have her sticky situation, next.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Snooki`s sticky situation. You know, "Jersey Shore" just wouldn`t be "Jersey Shore" without all the hookups between the roommates, right?

But tonight, Snooki is setting the record straight about hitting the sheets with The Situation. Now, in a recent interview, The Sitch claims he and Snooks hooked up.

Well, this morning on the "Wendy Williams Show" Snooki came out swinging against The Situation`s claims.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

POLIZZI: Mike is disgusting. He treats women like they`re a piece of garbage.

WILLIAMS: He said there are other people in the room already hooking up and that you guys were the second couple in the room, and that -

POLIZZI: No, I just think he`s obsessed with me and wanted camera time, and that`s why he did that.

WILLIAMS: Well, would you?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Shame on you, situation. Shame on you. That is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer. You catch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusively Sunday to Friday at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific right here on HLN.

Stay right here for "DR. DREW," next. Tonight, Dr. Drew investigates when will there be justice for the victims in the Penn State sex abuse scandal. "DR. DREW" starts right now.
