TV`s most provocative entertainment news show breaks news right now.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with big news breaking tonight.

Why now? There are stunning new revelations tonight in the Natalie Wood death mystery. Natalie`s sister is speaking out today; sharing her emotional reaction to the unbelievable news that investigators are actually re-opening the case of her sister`s drowning 30 years after the tragedy. Natalie wood, make no mistake about it, was a movie icon. And she and her equally famous movie star husband Robert Wagner were the "it" couple of their time.

So when Natalie apparently fell to her death during a boat trip with Wagner and their friend actor Christopher Walken, of course the frenzy was fierce. But her death was ruled accidental.

And now the captain of that boat is changing his story and investigators are taking a new look at the case, putting a spotlight once again, a really what`s been one of the biggest Hollywood mysteries of all time.

This morning, Natalie`s sister, Lana Wood, revealed that says she never believed Robert Wagner`s version of the story. And just today, Lana told NBC`s Matt Lauer on the "Today" show, she does believe the boat captain who called her with a shocking confession.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LANA WOOD, NATALIE WOOD`S SISTER: I`ve done something wrong and I feel like, you know, a coward and a fool. So, little bits and pieces had always filtered over to me.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Do you believe him?

WOOD: Unfortunately, yes, I do. I`ve never known him to lie.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Wow. Well, it`s been definitely been hard to believe that nearly 30 years after Natalie died there`s still so many unanswered questions now the case has been re-opened, the twists and turns keep coming.

With me tonight from Hollywood, CNN`s Sandra Endo has been covering all of the dramatic developments.

Sandra, really, this has been such incredible turn of events. There`s always been so much mystery surrounding Natalie Wood`s death. What is the reaction in Hollywood been toward that authorities are taking a look into what happened again?

SANDRA ENDO, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well A.J., I can tell you Hollywood is stunned over the revelations of a new investigation. For 30 years people have been asking questions about what happened aboard "the splendour" the night Natalie Wood disappeared into the water.

Now, we may finally get some more answers. A.J., the developments have been coming quickly in this case.

Friday morning captain Dennis Davern made the surprising confession. He believes Robert Wagner is to blame for Natalie`s death. Just seven hours later, the Los Angeles police department officially re-opened the case but fell short of naming Wagner as a suspect. Later Friday night, Christopher Walken, the fourth person on the boat that tragic evening, hires a lawyer for the investigation. And just today, we learn Lana Wood, for the first time in her stunning revelation, that she he believes the captain.

HAMMER: That`s just amazing to me. And Sandra, we`re hearing word that a new witness has come forward in the case. What can you tell us about what he or she is saying about it?

ENDO: Well, A.J., according to two reports, this mystery witness is a woman called Marilyn Wayne. She told authorities she was on another boat near "the splendour" that fateful night and said she awoke about 11:00 at night to hear a drowning woman scream for help.

And A.J., what`s very disturbing, this woman claims she heard a man`s voice say, hold on, we`re coming to get you. But as we know, no help came for hours and Natalie Wood`s lifeless body was found floated in the ocean.

"SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" reached out to the L.A. police department for comment on the reports, but A.J., they`re not saying anything.

HAMMER: Yes. It`s amazing to me. You hear there were screams for help yet she didn`t get any help. I`ve never understood that. Alright, CNN`s Sandra Endo, thank you very much.

So, with all the new revelations from the boat`s captain along with the Robert Wagner and his family encouraging the police now go forward with this new investigation. Nobody really knows who to believe.

With me right now in New York, Beth Karas is correspondent on TruTV`s as "In Session." In Hollywood tonight, E`s chief correspondent, Ken Baker.

I want to get right to the bombshell new interview with Natalie`s sister. She says she believes the captain who is pointing the finger squarely at Robert Wagner saying he`s to blame. Now, police have already said Wagner is not a suspect. There were only four people on the boat, remember, Wagner, Wood, the boat captain, and Christopher Walken.

Beth, I`m wondering if not Wagner, then who?

BETH KARAS, IN SESSION CORRESPONDENT: Well, Wagner or Walken, right, or Davern, the captain. But what the police are doing right now, and this is still a death investigation, is determining whether or not the captain was truthful then or is he truthful now?

And if he is truthful now, why wasn`t he telling the truth then? Where is the truth? This is not a provoke case. I don`t think it is even if they believe a crime happen -- if they believe he obstructed justice or Wagner obstructed justice, question of whether they could even prove the case.

Maybe you can arrest someone for probable cause, but it is interesting that he has these revelations, Davern, that Marilyn Wayne says her story had has never wavered. She says she always maintained she heard a woman scream after 11:00 but it was her boyfriend who woke up and then woke her up. And she -- they did make a call and it they were told a helicopter was coming out.

HAMMER: I was wondering why they didn`t jump in and try to help.

KARAS: Correct. They did look. They shined a light. According to Davern, he wanted to shine the searchlight and Wagner told him not to. I don`t know about the comment that he says Wagner said, leave her alone. Let`s teach her a lesson. I don`t know. Because the story seems to evolve every account I read. Davern seems to evolve.

But also, the coroner at time thought the red down jacket she was wearing would have weighted her down and she would have drowned perhaps more quickly because of that. According to the harbor master who found her, he said that it was the red bubble in the water that caused him to find her. And she was basically upright in the water floating because of her down jacket. So that is an interesting fact, that maybe she was alive for a couple of hours in the water.

HAMMER: I`m just blown away. I mean, literally it`s this month that marks 30 years that she died this mystery.

KARAS: Why now?

HAMMER: It`s really remarkable to me. And I`m looking at the big picture here, thinking the timing of this thing couldn`t be worse for Robert Wagner. Take a look at this promotion for "NCIS." This is for tomorrow night. Wagner is guest-starring as a guy who`s handcuffed and brought in on suspicion of murder, alright, talking about a coincidence.

Now, I want to be clear again, police have said he`s not a suspect in Natalie`s death, but at this point it also comes, this new episode, on the heels of CBS` big "48 hours" special look being back at Natalie`s death.

Ken, I`ve got to ask you, what does this mean for the great Robert Wagner to have this case back in the headlines right now?

KEN BAKER, E! CHIEF NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Well, if you he presumed that he`s innocent and as he stated or drop stated that he supports the investigation. Then imagine what a nightmare this is that he has to relive once again. I mean, he probably thought they`d moved on from this and he could just get on with his life.

The second thought I had about this, A.J., is the fact that I looked up how old Robert Wagner is. He`s 81 years old. I highly doubt this is something he really wants to be dealing with here in the late stages of his career, and certainly as a distraction for him. It kind of actually brought to mind Joe Paterno, who is I think 84 years old, who`s at the end of had his career and here he is dealing with drama. Much different circumstance but the same sort of situation where you have a guy who said, I had pretty accomplished life and career and here we go again.

HAMMER: Unbelievable. So, because, Beth, obviously they want to look at everything in the case from "a to z", do you think it could come to them exhuming Natalie`s body?

KARAS: Well, I did ask one of the lead detectives that today. I did come to station would one of the detective and told me he`s only working on nothing but this right now. And he said the wrong person for me to talk because he is not going to answer my questions. I said are you going to exhume her? He said, I can`t go there, which makes me think they might.

HAMMER: They might, alright. Well, this is -- it certainly is fascinating. And just to put it into perspective, this would be like in it was brad and Angelina and one of them got knocked off a boat or fell off the boat and drowned. That`s how big this thing was which is why such big news today. Beth Karas, Ken Baker, thank you both.

And as we move on tonight, we must let the battle of the exes begin.

Tonight, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher split, of course, but how in the world are they going to split the $290 million fortune? Imagine that?

And trashing the Kardashians? Tonight the stars speak out to "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT." They are complaining about the Kardashians. The showbiz flash point, have the Kardashians overstayed their welcome in Hollywood?

"SHOWBIZ" trending tonight, Christina Aguilera`s breast disaster, did you this? Well, take a look. There`s fury today over Christina`s dress at the AMA. That`s next.

This is "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" on HLN, news and views.

HAMMER: Welcome back to "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT." I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

And tonight, say what? Let`s face it, it`s been a banner year for stars who have been putting their feet in their mouths and you might be surprised by the star who have been caught by the pc police, Ashton Kutcher, Johnny Depp, even the lovely Jennifer Aniston have all falling victims to their freedom of speech. In fact, Paramount bubbles are on TV and twitter, are spreading facts and then you can say, pa-pa! (ph).

Here`s "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s" Kareen Wynter with a showbiz Special Report. And let`s just say, Hollywood, you`ve been warned.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

KAREEN WYNTER, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT CORRESPONDENT: The casualties are piling up in Hollywood. John Depp, Jennifer Aniston, Ashton Kutcher and lady Gaga, all slammed for failing to watch their words. Aniston`s misstep came on "Live with Regis and Kelly" which she uttered the "r" word.

JENNIFER ANISTON, ACTRESS: I do it for a living like a retard.

WYNTER: Advocates for the mentally disabled attacked her for that. "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" can tell you stars are on notice. Anything inappropriate they say can and will be used against them.

BRETT RATNER, DIRECTOR: I know, know. Get in trouble.

WYNTER: Trouble came for Director Brett Ratner after he dropped an antigay slur in public. G.L.A.D., the gay and lesbian alliance against defamation condemned him and within days Ratner lost his job as producer of the Oscars.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He wrote a wonderful apology, Brett Ratner, and he stepped down.

WYNTER: "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" can report some people are questioning whether the Ratner backlash was too extreme, including "the Views" Barbara Walters.

BARBARA WALTERS, HOST, THE VIEWS: I don`t think he should have had to resign.

WYNTER: Conservatives political intelligent Christopher Barren agrees. He wrote a stinging article that blasted G.L.A.D. for voicing Ratner`s ouster.

CHRISTOPHER BARRON, CHAIRMAN, GOPROUD: What he said -- that should have been the end of the sorry. He was sorry.

WYNTER: Barron tells "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" political correctness is costing celebrities the right to speak freely.

BARRON: There`s unquestionably a broader Hollywood thought police. It`s completely and totally gotten out of control in Hollywood.

WYNTER: More and more stars are finding offhand remarks can come back to haunt them. Hank Williams Junior lost his gig on Monday night football after he likened President Obama and Republican leaders to Hitler. He later appeared on "the view" to talk about the controversy.

HANK WILLIAMS JUNIOR, SINGER: I guess it`s called stepping on the toes of freedom of speech.

WYNTER: Johnny Depp was raked over the coals after he compared viewing a photo shoot to being raped. He quickly apologized as he told CNN`s Larry king.

JOHNNY DEPP, ACTOR: I mean, the faux pas, there was a piece in "vanity fair". What I should have used the word "violated".

WYNTER: Ashton Kutcher`s foot in mouth came when he twitted support for ousted Penn State football coach Joe Paterno in the midst of the school`s child sex abuse scandal. The reaction was swift and negative.

HOWARD BRAGMAN, VICE CHAIRMAN, REPUTATION.OM: People continue to give him brief.

WYNTER: Veteran public relation Howard Bragman tells "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" it`s a perilous time for stars in the public eye.

BRAGMAN: There`s so much political correctness that we use words that we don`t even know are wrong. One bad word, one mistake, doesn`t define a celebrity. If someone continues to do it again and again, then you realize what they`re made of and what they stand for.

WYNTER: Bragman who rep Isaiah Washington after the actor was accused of hurling a gay slur warns his celebrity clients to steer clear of insensitive terms.

BRAGMAN: There`s no winning once you use one of these words. You can`t put the tooth baste back in the tooth.

WYNTER: Many tar stars get it.

MARY J. BLIGE, SINGER: I don`t want people to take my words and, you know, put it over here.

WYNTER: Mary J. Blige tells "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" she this before she speaks.

BLIGE: I`m very specific and careful with what I say.

WYNTER: Likewise George Clooney.

GEORGE CLOONEY, ACTOR: You have to pay attention and not say dumb things. You`ll always say dumb things but you have to try not to.

WYNTER: Celebs who ignore George Clooney`s advice, beware. You may not watch your words but others will.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: Yes. So when all else fails, just do as George Clooney does. That was "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s" Kareen Wynter.

Well, not a lot of twitter fails from the Kardashians, but that doesn`t seem to matter. The calls keep rolling in to the showbiz on-call phone calls about that wild online petition to kick the whole family off the air. I`m not so sure it`s going to work, neither is Jennifer from Alabama. She says, canceling the Kardashians, it`s not reality.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JENNIFER, CALLER, ALABAMA: I think this is ridiculous. If you want to boycott the show, go to the sponsor. E! is not going to take the show off because it makes a lot of money for this. What you all people have to do to the sponsors or just do like I do, just don`t watch it.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Alright, Jennifer. Thanks for your call. We also heard from Jeanne or Jeannie actually calling in from Wisconsin. Jeannie says, people need to get a life and stop talking about the Kardashians and Kim`s controversial divorce.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JEANNIE, CALLER, WISCONSIN: I`m just shocked and appalled at people who have nothing better to do than constantly talk about the Kardashians. Why would anybody want to be against somebody who doesn`t want to stay in a marriage, that obviously starting out unhappily?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: You`ve got a point there, Jeannie. Thanks for your call.

Let us know what you think. Call "SHOWBIZ" on-call the sound off on the Kardashians or anything else. Showbiz on-call phone lines are always open at 1-888-SBT-BUZZ, 1-888-728-2899. Please leave us a voice mail.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Christina`s dress disaster? Christina Aguilera brought down the house at the American music awards with Maroon 5`s Adam Levine. But tonight there`s big controversy over her dress. Was it fab or a big fashion doing?

Showbiz trending tonight, the fire storm over Christina`s dress on the American music awards. Now, on twitter and online, all the talk was about Christina`s body-hugging revealing mini white dress. Why all the fuss? A lot of people think the dress was too tight, it didn`t complement her curves. That`s what a lot of people are saying. So, was this one big fashion disaster? Or is it not that big of deal.

Joining me from Hollywood tonight is Maggie Furlong, the west coast editor of AOL TV.

And Maggie, I know you saw the stuff online today too. It`s been nonstop talk about the dress all over the web particularly on twitter. I want to read a couple of the kinder comments I`ve seen on twitter.

@myruegas writes. "Christina Aguilera there is nothing wrong with a little extra pounds on you, but dress your size, honey."

This is @giovanna_icamen, "I love Christina Aguilera, but her choice of dress did not flatter her curves."

Now, Maggie, a lot of people have been picking on Christina for her weight. I just think that stinks. Was the problem here really the choice of dress more so than her weight?

MAGGIE FURLONG, WEST COAST EDITOR, AOL TV: Absolutely. It`s not about her weight. She can be curvy. She can be stick thin and people love her. We all know she`s talented and that doesn`t change with how she looks.

It`s that her clothing needs to change with how she looks. She can`t continue to wear these dresses that she wore when she was 90 pounds when she puts on 20 or 30 pounds, which she has. These skintight, short, you know really revealing, almost see-through dresses make her look even bigger than she probably actually is.

HAMMER: Yes. And listen, I get that going after how celebs look is sport, but I think she he sounded great, which Maggie, to me is all that should matter. Am I just delusional?

FURLONG: No, no. It is what matter. The performance was awesome. But at the end of the day, there are so many designers that embrace real women and curvy figure. For her to go a place like (inaudible) which is banded dress that literally leaves nothing to imagination, it`s kind of the fault of her and her stylist. And we should be focusing on her music. The dress isn`t helping.

You know they`re paying attention today. Maggie Furlong, I thank you.

HAMMER: Got to get now to `SHOWBIZ" line up. Here`s what`s coming up at the bottom of the hour on "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT." The battle of the exes, Demi versus Ashton, who will wish the divorce war over their combine estimated $290 million fortune?

And Taylor Swift was on top of the world at the American music awards last night. But Taylor just revealed that those big highs come with some major lows. We`ll tell you exactly what she just said.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Welcome back to "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT." It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York, and we`ve got big news breaking today.

The battle of the exes. Yes, there are revealing new details tonight about the bitter end of the Demi Moore/Ashton Kutcher marriage. The two battled reports of Ashton`s alleged cheating for months but now we`re getting insight into just how the relationship spiraled into a toxic mess until finally Demi pulled the plug.

Also tonight, there are big questions about whether their money, I`m talking a reported $290 million fortune, oh my goodness, whether that is going to make matters worse?

With me tonight from Hollywood, Steve Santagati from badboysfinishfirst.com. In Chicago tonight, Kelli Zink, the host for celebtv.com.

So, let me break it down for you, the Demi/Ashton money trail right here. If you can put this up, Demi and Ashton are reportedly worth $290 million. Wow. Ashton makes a reported $700,000 per episode for his starring role on "two and a half men." they share a home reportedly worth about $6 million. Demi reportedly settled her divorce with her ex Bruce Willis for $90 million. Demi`s split from Bruce Willis was amicable and Demi and Ashton really became what I thought was a terrific example for making blended families work.

So I really hope money is not going to spark a heated battle here. But, Steve, do you see this going the way of war of the roses? Is money going to ruin everything?

STEVE SANTAGATI, BADBOYSFINISHFIRST.COM: You know, A.J., I certainly hope so, so I can be on television more.

(LAUGHTER)

HAMMER: Come on!

SANTAGATI: But, otherwise, no. It`s just stupid. How much money do they need? I mean, it probably will. She`s going to have to try to do some sort of vindictive thing because he`s kind of made her look bad in public, kind of. No, he did. I`m amazed it actually lasted as long as it did. It was bound to end this way.

Hopefully not. Hopefully they don`t go after each other`s money.

HAMMER: And still, I have to tell you, all weekend I was talking to people about this. I was the guy who said, no, I don`t think their age makes a difference. I think everything is going to be cool. And I think as I just said they were a great example of making a different kind of Hollywood family work. So, I guess I`m just naive and silly and stupid.

SANTAGATI: Smoke and mirrors.

HAMMER: Exactly.

Well, "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" did receive an advanced copy of the brand new issue of "People" magazine today and the headline reads -- inside the final days. Sources telling "People" magazine that Demi is feeling pretty bitter about ending her six-year marriage to Ashton as you might imagine. People say Demi thought that she could save the marriage but apparently couldn`t deal with the pain of Ashton`s alleged cheating.

Now Kellie, I think if the cheating claims are true, it`s going to be that much more difficult to make the split amicable. I mean you heard what Steve Santagati just said she may want some payback here.

KELLI ZINK, HOST, CELEBTV.COM: Yes. But I don`t agree with Steve. Ashton didn`t make her look bad. He made himself look bad with this cheating allegation rumor scandal. We don`t even know if it was cheating, if they a reported open relationship then maybe she was upset about something else. Listen, the bottom line is, is that you don`t want these girls to speak out and you don`t want to get messy over that or over the finances.

HAMMER: Yes. And let`s not forget Ashton never admitted he did anything wrong. Let me now show you the results of our exclusive poll when we asked this question.

In Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher`s split, what do you think was behind the breakup? I wasn`t really surprised by this. A whopping 66 percent said infidelity was the reason, only 27 percent said it was age. Steve, do those results surprise you one bit?

SANTAGATI: No. It had a lot to do with age because age has a lot to do with experience and maturity. And Kelli, let`s face it, every woman blames herself when boyfriend or husband cheats on her. So that`s what I mean. Let`s be clear about that.

ZINK: No way!

SANTAGATI: Yes, he did, Kelli. He made her look bad because that means he wasn`t happy sexually in that relationship so he had step outside of it. So what was she doing wrong or not doing at all? That`s the reality.

HAMMER: And again, Steve, just to protect you, that`s allegedly, of course. He has not fesses up.

SANTAGATI: Allegedly, yes.

HAMMER: But that`s also -- you know, let`s be honest. It`s not always a dissatisfaction situation. Sometimes it`s just a maturity thing and not having quite grown to a place in your life where you`re willing to remain monogamous stay with one person.

But right now, let me move from this to another battle of the exes tonight, we must talk about Jennifer Lopez and her ex Mark C Anthony.

Now, they both took the stage separately on Sunday night, the American Music Awards. Here are the stats on J.Lo`s big night.

She walked away with Latin artist of the year. She`s making headlines for reportedly kissing her new boyfriend, Casper Smart, right at her own after party last night. And she`s also making headlines today for her nude cat suit.

People comparing J.Lo look to what Britney wore back in 2000 at Video Music Awards, you remember that.

Now, Kelli, Marc performed as well. No major headlines about him today. Is it safe to say J.Lo won this battle of the exes?

ZINK: No contest. I`m so team J.Lo right now. It`s not even funny. Her body looked amazing. She rocked at her performance. Making out with a 24- year-old? She`s 42. I mean that`s taken some major cahony (ph) and let her do it. It`s her moment right. And, she owns it.

HAMMER: And I`ll give it to Marc Anthony for his performance on the American music awards. I thought he was great with pit bull, but J.Lo clearly moving away from her marriage. Pay close attention to what she said when she accepted her award last night.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JENNIFER LOPEZ, SINGER: It`s been a really amazing year in so many ways. It`s been p up and down and just exciting and overwhelming and so many things. And I`m just grateful for all my blessings. I`m grateful for all my blessings. I just want to thank my family most of all, my beautiful babies who inspire me every single day to just be a better person, to be better at everything I do.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. I like you, Marc, but I do think it was J.Lo winning that battle of the exes last night. Steve Santagati, Kelli Zink, we`ll leave it there. Thanks so much.

We must move now to kiss off. Gene Simmons big American music awards disc. Now, in addition to those jaw-dropping onstage moments at the AMA we showed you, there was also a stunning red carpet slam from the kiss front man Gene Simmons.

Gene, of course, very famous for not holding back ever. But he really let loose on the red carpet at the AMA. He couldn`t stop himself from bashing most of his fellow musicians who were right there at the awards show. Watch what he revealed to "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" just last night.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

GENE SIMMONS, SINGER: I tell you what`s great, when accidents happen. I`ve said it before. I want the tape machine to break down. I want the dancers to fall of the stage. I want all the fake stuff to happen. And then you get to intrinsically see what an artist is about. There`s only one artist out there that can do it, that`s Gaga. Well, Gaga can actually play her own instrument. She can actually sing without background singers and tapes. I want to start a campaign, tell me if it`s 70 percent a karaoke show. Tell me if there`s a tape in the background. I want real.

It`s OK to sing with a karaoke tape, but then tell the audience 70 percent of what you`re seeing and hearing isn`t real.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: All right, Gene, tell us how you really feel. He was really fired p up last night. He took a moment to slam reality singing competitions. You can all imagine he doesn`t like those. He said they reminded him of people singing in the shower.

Come on, Gene. You know there`s some serious talent on shows like "idol" and "the voice."

Well, speaking of getting trashed, who is and why is Hollywood trashing the Kardashians? Tonight, stars are speaking out to "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" about why they`re not keeping up with the Kardashians.

Also, I love this. Mila Kunis keeping her promise. It was a little bit Hollywood and a little bit hoo-wa! The pricy details on Mila`s magical night at the Marin Corps Ball coming up in moments.

HAMMER: Did you see this? Look how great Beyonce looks. She is proudly flaunting her baby bump. Right there she is walking the red carpet at the release party for her brand new concert movie live at Roseland, the elements of four. The queen b says there`s just no way to keep that bump under wraps so she`s giving the fans what they want, loving everyone get a peek at her growing baby bump. I think that`s terrific. And I can tell you "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" of course is on baby bump watch. We`re going to bring you all the brand new pics as soon as we get them.

Welcome back to "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT." I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

And tonight, trashing the Kardashians. Yes, a new wave of anti-Kardashian sentiment is growing in the very industry that helped make the family famous. "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" sat down with cast and crew of "young adult" including co-star Charlize Theron and Patten Oswalt. In the film, you get to see Theron`s character mammies a cheating boozed up home wrecker, at their passed out in front of or watching the famous Kardashian sisters on TV. Really a not-so-subtle suggestion of who they think the show`s audience is. Listen to this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CHARLIZE THERON, ACTRESS: It`s the only thing that I can watch that actually makes my brain switch off. It`s almost like having a massage because you just can`t think when you watch those things. You can feel your brain just kind of melting.

PATTON OSWALT, ACTOR: For all of the dumb things they say and for however loathsome their lives are, what if they really do have problems and heartache, they`ll also never get the help they need.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Wow. Not a lot of love there for the famous reality family. And that brings us to our "SHOWBIZ" flash point. Have the Kardashians worn out their welcome in Hollywood?

Joining me tonight from Hollywood, west coast editor from AOL TV Maggie Furlong, in Chicago tonight, radio host of Hollywood five countdown Hyla is here.

I think look, there`s no questions that Kardashians are brilliant marketers of their brand. And quite frankly, for all of the people who don`t care for them, we all know there are legions that can`t get enough.

But Maggie, to our flash point, do you think the Kardashians have finally worn out their welcome in Hollywood?

FURLONG: I think they absolutely have. I think this is proof, you know, there are ban Kardashians petitions all over the Internet now. People are really upset. I think the wedding was sort of the final straw. We`ve been led to believe seasons upon season that keeping up with the Kardashians and all that many set off. That these people are real and genuine and sharing bits and pieces of their lives and letting viewers in to this kind of fabulous life they live. And then we realize it`s all kind of a sham. That wedding really put a bad taste in a lot of people`s mouth and I think they`re fed up. I think people are done.

HAMMER: but they say it`s not a sham, Maggie. I don`t understand. Listen, Charlize and Patten were actually pretty kind I thought to the Kardashians in what they said. You have now got to hear what Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody and the film`s director Jason Reitman told us when we asked them whether they keep with the Kardashians. Watch this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JASON REITMAN, FILM DIRECTOR: The Kardashians seem to be obsessed with a thing that I abhor. They want to be famous for being famous, and I think that`s kind of sad. And it has inspired a freakish desire within our culture about being a celebrity that is really gross and unfortunate.

DIABLO CODY, SCREENWRITER: The Kardashians as a construct I think have maybe had a detrimental effect on society.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Not holding back one bit. Gross and unfortunate I believe were words used there, moments ago. Hyla, I don`t want you to hold back either. Do think the Kardashians have worn out their welcome in Hollywood?

HYLA, THE HOLLYWOOD 5 COUNTDOWN: No. Not at all, man. Come on, you`re trying to tell me he that E! Is going to take a chance at having their number one franchiser, their show going away? You think Ryan Seacrest who is Mister Pop culture, is going to allow them to just fall back? That`s not going to happen. The Kardashians are still big-time pop culture, they`ll continue to be. And why people in Hollywood hate on their success, I don`t understand. It`s a form of entertainment. It`s different than what Jason Reitman`s life to show us. But it`s a different form and people dig it.

HAMMER: Well, you know, I have a feeling as long as their show is pulling ratings there`s no way that they`re suddenly going to slowly disappear, quickly disappear. That`s how I think. But the stars are not alone in this. Maggie, you mentioned the backlash going on online. I was checking this petition, you know, to boycott all things Kardashian. It`s picking up a lot of steam, about 150,000 signatures so far.

Do you think at a minimum perhaps it`s time for the Kardashians to pull it back a bit if they want to maintain their popularity? You know, I don`t know, maybe four shows instead of four, just stick to one?

FURLONG: Yes. I mean, I definitely think the fact they`re still going forward airing this Kim and Courtney take New York which reportedly shows the downfall of her marriage to Kris and all of the fighting. And then there`s rumors that she wants final edit to make it look like she`s not the bad guy.

All of these things just keep adding and filing on to the fact that what we`ve been shown, what we`ve been given, what we`ve believed to be the reality of the Kardashians has all been a careful apply planned-out fake life they`ve chosen to show us.

HAMMER: Hyla, I want to get to the point you`re making about the possibility of them slipping away. Because remember, we saw what happened with Paris Hilton. It was all Paris all the time. She truly squeezed out at least 17 minutes from her 15 minutes of reality TV fame. But now she has safely fallen off the radar. You don`t see a time in the Kardashians doing the same kind of fade away situation?

HYLA: Oh, sure. You know, there are ups and downs in everyone`s career. I think the difference between Paris and the Kardashians is the Kardashians is really a machine. There are so many different parts that are involved. You have several sisters. You have the mom, you have the dad.

And, again, I bring up Ryan Seacrest. You know, he is the man behind this project. He knows pop culture better than anybody. I can`t imagine that he`s going to allow them to fall back. Listen, she went too far with the wedding personally and professionally. We might see them back off a little bit, but they`ll come back strong.

HAMMER: Yes. And I think for anybody who thinks they`re going away altogether, not in our lifetime I`ll here to tell you. Maggie Furlong, Hyla, thank you both.
