HAMMER: Hello, I`m A.J. Hammer in Hollywood with big news breaking tonight.
Life after Kim revealed. Kim Kardashian`s ex Kris Humphries finally spoke out today in the very first TV interview since their breakup bombshell rocked reality TV. I thought it was a surprising move since Kris is pretty much shy away from the cameras after Kim blindsided him with the divorce filings a month ago. And today, Humphries spoke with "Good Morning America" about life after Kim, and his plans for the future.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
HUMPHRIES: Well, it is different, and through it all, I`m just focused on, you know family and prepare for basketball. You know, basketball is something that I have always taken really serious, and you know, I continue to do that, and you know, moving forward.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: And tonight a lot of people are giving Kris high praise for taking the high road here and not using this opportunity to slam his ex. But what did he say when he asked if he still loves Kim. You have to hear this. I will have the surprising answer in a little bit.
But first, I have to get to this.
A real hero. Tonight I`m one-on-one the "Dancing with the Stars" champ J.R. Martinez. J.R. of course, is a wounded soldier, and turned soap star turned dancing dynamo. Now, he was a bonafide star before but winning the coveted mirror ball trophy has just put him on a new level. And of course, like the hero he is, he is using the star power to motivate and inspire others.
J.R. is going to be joining me this Sunday at the shrine auditorium in Los Angeles as my co-host for "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" and CNN Heroes. That`s our live red-carpet special where we are honoring everyday heroes.
J.R. and I got together just hours ago inside the shrine. And right now, my special "showbiz" newsmaker interview with the great J.R. Martinez.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: So J.R., so cool to see you. This is actually the first time you and I are face to face since you were a mere contestant with "Dancing with the Stars." Now, you are a champion, mirror ball trophy winner.
MARTINEZ: I am.
HAMMER: And we talked back when we are competing about how it has affected your life at the time. But now that you have won and now that a couple of weeks have passed in what way has it had a big impact in your life?
MARTINEZ: Well, one, since my feet have stopped dancing, they have not stopped moving, you know. And it`s been one thing after the other with getting an invite from the secretary of defense Leon Panetta, and to go to Pentagon and to get a tour, that was amazing.
And you know, the show is an amazing show and it really gave me a great platform to show and share with people who I am and what I am about, you know, which is explaining why we are here today. So, it is a whirlwind of things, and I`m just kind keep up with the pace of it.
HAMMER: I have to mention, you missed it because it is so intense, and for a finite amount of time and then it goes away.
MARTINEZ: It does. I don`t miss the rehearsal and all of the hours that you put into that, but one thing I miss is that minute and a half that Karina and I were able to perform and entertain the world for potentially the world. I mean, I miss that, you know. And I miss creating the routines and the special moments that we are proud of and I will be watching for the rest of my life and cherish for the rest of my life. So, I do miss that, and it is one thing that you see that the finish line is not any closer and then it is there, it is there, and it is done, and it`s like now what?
HAMMER: Now, as you point out that you hear all of the noise in background at CNN heroes, they are obviously setting up with the hammers and drills going on while we are chatting.
MARTINEZ: We have the hammer.
HAMMER: Very good. And you mentioned meeting the secretary of defense, Leon Panetta.
MARTINEZ: Yes.
HAMMER: First of all, how unbelievable that must have been, but, what did he say to you when you have a private moment, if you care to share, what did you tell them?
MARTINEZ: Well, you know the big thing was, he said, you know, what you have been able to do since your injury in Iraq is amazing how you have been able to take something and really make more of it, you know. And how you go out there and you speak on behalf of the troops and the families and the needs and who we are as a military. I mean, it is that I commend you on that. And then I offered to show him a few moves, because --
HAMMER: Of course.
MARTINEZ: Of course, that is what I felt like I could bring to the table. You know, for God sakes, he held to meetings to the side, you know, to entertain me. So, I figured I showed him few cha-cha moves and he said he enjoyed watching me which was, you know, a big surprise to me.
As I tell people, for ten weeks, at least for me, I was so caught up in looking around the ballroom and seeing 700 people that fit into the ballroom every Monday night, and that is who you are entertaining. That`s who you`re performing for. But for me, I would forget who is on the other side of that camera, you know. The millions of people that watched that show every week. And with that said, I actually have been traveling a lot since the show has ended, and I came home the other day. And I`m going through all my mail, and just saying, OK, that`s nothing. That`s nothing. And I see this envelop and I say, well, what is this going to be? So, I go to open up the envelope, and needless to say, it is actually Christmas card from the Obama`s.
HAMMER: No kidding?
MARTINEZ: Yes. No kidding.
HAMMER: He has fans to the top of the ladder.
MARTINEZ: So, be surprise of who watches "Dancing with the Stars." So, it`s been amazing that I have the opportunity. I have that outreach and reach a lot of people and just share, you know, the story of perseverance and strength and hope and that is why to me it is an honor to share that co-hosting stage with you and be here for the CNN heroes.
HAMMER: Yes. I mean, well obviously we`re very excited because not only are you going to be presenting at the CNN heroes, an all-star tribute Sunday night, but - and I could not believe what I got that you are -- J.R. is my co-host for "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" CNN heroes, that of course the one-hour live preshow. We are going to do that at 7:00 p.m. Eastern.
I`m so excited to have you there for it, because you bring a different perspective. You were late to the honorees and that you have spent so much of your personal time dedicated to the returning troops. That`s been a big cause for you since you came home from the war, and that was what nine years ago.
MARTINEZ: Absolutely.
HAMMER: Already.
MARTINEZ: Absolutely.
HAMMER: And so, I have to imagine, it is particular special for you to be surrounded by this kind of energy where these people are making unbelievable differences in the lives of others through their community service.
MARTINEZ: Absolutely. I mean, you know a lot of people classify me as a hero and it took me a while to understand and take that in, and really understand that I`m a hero. So, it is important for me to now use the platform that I have been given and you know, highlight those other heroes and take part in such event like this. And quite honestly, this is what inspires me, been able to witness all of the great things that the honorees have done and they will continue to do, you know, by being honorees of CNN heroes and potentially the winner. And what they will continue the do is amazing. So, I am honored to one to have this to be here to stand alongside, you be, but at the same time to take part in the CNN heroes event, because I think everybody that tunes is going to be tuning and inspired and moved and it could not come at a perfect time not only in the year, but at is tame time in our economy and everything else that people p are going through this the world.
HAMMER: Yes. I dare anybody not to be inspired by what they will see Sunday night, and be so inspired by what you have seen from J.R. All right. I got to go pick out the outfit or something.
MARTINEZ: No rhinestones.
HAMMER: No rhinestones.
(END VIDEOTAPE)

So, yes, you have to organize and make sure they are balanced, because as you know, with children, they count how many presents and they want to make sure that nobody got -- so I have to make it very balanced. So, it is hard, but I will work it out. I`m on ready.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Having a relationship in front of the cameras and having it all taking place with cameras in your face. What impact do you think that had on your relationship?
HUMPHRIES: You know, I`m not -- I can`t say for sure now for sure.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: That is Kris Humphries finally speaking out in the first TV interview about the headline grabbing breakup. He is putting the woman, the marriage, and the hit reality show behind him and moving forward. So, take that.
Welcome back to "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT." I`m A.J. Hammer in Hollywood.
Tonight, with big news breaking, life after Kim revealed. Well, it over a month now since Kim Kardashian stunned us all with the news that she was filing for divorce, even Kris was surprised about that. And while we have seen Kim`s version of the breakup play out on TV, Kris has kept quiet, until now.
And for the first time, he`s finally breaking his silence out about his failed marriage.
With me tonight in Hollywood is Hyla, who is the co-host of the National Syndicated radio show, the Hollywood five countdown. From Atlanta, Jenn Hobby, who is the co-host of radio `the Bert show" in Q100 in Atlanta.
So guys, we have been following this. We have been seeing people really taking sides in this breakup. A lot of people saying how bad they feel for Kris. A lot of people saying the wedding was just a big scam.
So, you have to believe that this is a big moment that a lot of people have been waiting for, to actually, finally hear Kris` side of his story from his mouth. Let`s watch what he said on "Good Morning America" today.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: A moving forward from a divorce, I think there have been a lot of people of divorce filling that a lot of people found it shocking when she filed for divorce, what did you think when she did?
HUMPHRIES: You know, for me, it is just certain things happen in life, and you have to move forward, so I`m excited to be where I`m at right now with the NBA season coming up. And, you know, I`m ready to go.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: He is all excited about life. Things happen. Kris is actually really taking the high road there. He got dumped by Kim. He was essentially being portrayed as the bad guy on Kim`s show. He still has nothing negative to say publicly and that we have to give him credit for it.
Jenn, that takes us to our "showbiz" flashpoint, and I want to get your take on this. Who is handling the breakup better?
JENN HOBBY, RADIO CO-HOST, THE BERT SHOW: I got to say, Kris is handling the break-up better. And now, I think he needs to be cast on "Dancing with the Stars," the way he danced around all of those questions today. I mean, it`s unbelievable. He really skirted the questions and didn`t answer it at all. Just doesn`t want to say anything bad about her, and totally taking the high road.
HAMMER: Well, maybe he is a really, really positive guy. Hyla, what do you think about it? Who is handling it better Kim or Kris?
HYLA, RADIO CO-HOST, THE HOLLYWOOD 5 COUNTDOWN: No. This is an incomplete answer. The reality is we are not seeing the real Kris Humphries here. Remember, in the pre-nup, he is not allowed the talk.
What he is doing here, this appearance on "Good Morning America," he was very careful not to say anything that could possibly get him sued. He is working on this annulment so he can finally speak out. But this is not the real Kris Humphries. This is how he really feels, really. You said you were in love and wanted to try to make the marriage work when this divorce went down and that changed in a couple of weeks? This is garbage from him, and this is him trying not to get sued.
HAMMER: Yes. I feel that way as well, although, I do believe that there is more that he could have said than what he did say. And some of the couple`s fans have been holding on hope that Kim and Kris would actually work things out, because you just don`t fall out of love that quickly. Do you? I actually never thought it would be possible for them to get back together, but let`s see what Kris has to say about getting back together.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: This is the first time we are hearing from you, are you still in love with her?
HUMPHRIES: This guy. I am focused on just, you know what I can control, which is you know, being ready to play ball, and supporting my mom and her cookie bake today.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: In other words, for whatever reason, he does want to answer that question. Look, Jenn, I get that Kris is playing it close to the vest. I get that maybe he is restricted from saying certain things because of a pre-Nup possibly, But I really, really think that he missed an opportunity to just lay it on the line, and put to rest all of the questions that will forever be follow following him if he stays silent.
HOBBY: Absolutely. I agree. I think that he should have been a little bit more honest, and maybe a little bit more emotional. You know, everybody is feeling bad for him. Most of the country is on his side right now, and the show is portraying him as the bad guy.
So I think that had he been a little bit more emotional today, it would have really brought everybody over to his side more in the debate.
HAMMER: Yes, pre-nup or not, he could have given more. Jen hobby, Hyla, I thank you both.
Well, regardless of their divorce drama, do you still love Kim K., I mean you, not Kris. How would you actually like to spend New Year`s Eve with her?

GIULIANA RANCIC, E! NEWS HOST: I mean, there is not much that Seacrest cannot do, let`s be honest. I mean, he is excellent at what he does, but it would be strange to see the "today" show without Matt Lauer. But if anybody would replace him, I think Ryan actually is a pretty good option.
WYNTER: "X Factor" explodes. This season of the "X Factor" is full of surprises and last night`s elimination took it to the whole new level as the crowd was shocked that Rachelle Crow got voted off at the fox talent show. The 13-year-old burst into tears and fell to the ground after learning her time was up. As the crowd booed, Rachel was joined on the stage by Nicole and Paula Abdul, and given a warm and emotional send-off.

HAMMER: Welcome to this special edition of "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" showbiz movie secrets. I`m A.J. Hammer in Hollywood. And there is big Oscar buzz surrounding a bunch of Hollywood favorites. Two of the biggest names George Clooney and Brad Pitt are in the running for the super prestigious best actor Oscar actor nod.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER (voice-over): The Hollywood buzz and of course, frequent co-stars have been cleaning up with the critic awards in this award season. And some people think that Clooney and Pitt will of course, knocked over casinos in the ocean`s movie, are looking to make one more big score at the Kodak Theater come Oscar night.
But not so fast, Brad and George. There are few more A-list actors buying to join Oscars` top five, not to mention some lesser known actors who are looking to kind elbow aside the big boys for the very first Oscar nominations.
So gentlemen, start your engines, because the race for the best actor Oscar is under way.
They are Hollywood buddies and on screen partners in crime in the "Ocean`s 11" movie.
George Clooney and Brad Pitt may be thick as thieves, but this year, they are facing off against each other the race of the best actor nomination. Clooney, an Oscar winner and two-time best actor nominee is racking up pre- OSCAR buzz about his role of husband and father in "the Descendents."
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What`s up, bro?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Don`t ever do that to me again.
HAMMER: But cleaning up is brad Pitt who is getting a buzz from the baseball innovator in "Money Ball."
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You came to start Hattiesburg.
HAMMER: Clooney versus Pitt, in the battle of the Hollywood pretty boys, and for his part, Clooney doesn`t seem to be phased by the Hollywood attention. He recently told "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT," he enjoys the time in the spotlight, but he realizes it could be a short rid ride.
GEORGE CLOONEY, ACTOR: You know, everybody ends up on the sideline sooner or later, and your job is to try and not stave that off as long as you can.
HAMMER: Clooney and Pitt at are not the only A-list pretty boys on the Oscar radar. Hollywood is buzzing that Ryan Gosling could score his second OSCAR nomination to one of two movies this year. The "Violent Crime Caper Drive" and the political drama "the Ides of March" where his directing co- star is his potential OSCAR competitor, George Clooney.
And how would Gosling feel about possibly sharing the OSCAR nomination stage with George Clooney? Well, Gosling told the "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT," he does even not like to sharing the movie poster with Clooney.
RYAN GOSLING, ACTOR, DIRECTOR: In my worst nightmare is that my face would be compared to George Clooney`s face because he is like the most handsome guy in town.
HAMMER: Three-time OSCAR nominee Leonardo Dicaprio is also in the hunt for another best acting nomination this year for playing FBI legend "J. Edgar Hoover" in the biopic J. Edgar.
Also, getting OSCAR buzz this year is Michael Fassbender for his role as a New York sex addict in "Shane" and Sean Dusherden (ph) who plays as silent film star, the hard house hit, "the Artist." This year`s best actor race is shaping up to be a battle of the Hollywood pretty boys.
Hopefully, there won`t be any hurt feelings.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: Hey, you know, it`s true. You cannot deny it. They are a good looking bunch. But here`s our "showbiz" flashpoint, who is most likely to win the best actor Oscar? We can talk about this already.
A team from New York, April Woodard, the host of Entertainment. In Hollywood tonight, Jerry Penacoli who is a correspondent for "Extra."
Alright guys, so, here are "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s" pick for OSCAR contenders for best male actor as we see it right now. We have Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Leonardo Dicaprio, and Michael Fassbender.
April, let me start with you. Who are you putting your money on this year?
APRIL WOODARD, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST: Man, I am putting it on Leo. And the reason why is his body of works. You know, OSCAR is very pickle. Sometimes, it`s done wonderful performance from two years ago that actually put you to OSCAR this year. And because the work has just been so dynamic, he has transformed into every character. He is the Optimus Prime of Hollywood, and he has transformed into everything, and this is Leo`s year.
HAMMER: Yes. Even though it was not a favorite movie among a lot of critics, I think you make a great point, Dicaprio certainly no stranger to transforming himself for the movie. He did it of course for "Aviator" for Howard Hughes. He has done it again now for J. Edgar.
"SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" did ask Leo about making the transformation for this movie. Watch what he told us.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LEONARDO DICAPRIO, ACTOR: It was a challenging role in a lot of different respects. You know, he is somebody that I had always been curious about as a historical figure in our country. Here is this sort of the grandfather of the FBI, the man who sort of organized modern forensics. He was all these bulldogs figure and yet all of the salacious rumors about the personal life and not only the personal life, but the tactics and the way he would manipulate and survey people in our country.
HAMMER: Yes, Leo is a big star at the box office, but we do know that it does not always mean that you are a shoo-in for Oscar goal. Jerry, what`s your take? Do you think that academy is going to give Leo his Oscar this year?
JERRY PENACOLI, EXTRA CORRESPONDENT: These are all great actors and that is not the argument, right? Here`s the thing. Leo did transform himself. The academy loves transformations. However, the academy I think loves George Clooney more. They have just had a love affair with this guy and what is not to love about George, for years and years and years. He won for "Syria" and he has been nominated.
Now, Brad Pitt made a big huge turn around back in 2008 when he was nominated for "Benjamin Button." He had also been nominated years ago for "12 Monkeys." So, once "Benjamin Button" came along, the academy has been looking very seriously at Brad Pitt. So, my pick here is actually a split pick. I think it is going to come down to the friends, Clooney and Pitt. It is going to be a battle between the two of them.
HAMMER: Yes. What a story that is going to make if that is how it goes down. But let`s talk about a lesser known for a moment, because we know there is been an awful lot of buzz about a guy named Jean Due Jardin.
Now, you may not have heard of him before. He plays a silent film star in a terrific (inaudible). It`s called "the Artist." April, what do you think? Do you think it is possible, this guy could snick in with Leo and with Brad and with George being here, maybe take the Oscar gold himself and just surprised everybody?
WOODARD: Well, you know, anything is possible. There are times when we are all like what with our mouths open and when we see the Oscars at the Kodak Theater like, what? But I just don`t have the gut. I don`t have the feeling that it is going to be able to pull through the silent film is going to be able to really get the Oscar nod. I just don`t think it is going to happen.
HAMMER: Jerry, very quickly, what do you think if it is not your buddy Brad or George, could it be Sean?
PENACOLI: Well, I don`t think it is his year, but I will tell you what an effort. It was a beautiful film and something so new, and I would say that give it a golden globe. I am sure we will see a lot of it at the golden globes night.
HAMMER: Yes, we will see a lot of recognition for him and that film. April Woodard, Jerry Penacoli, thank you guys. I appreciate it.
PENACOLI: Thank you.
HAMMER: Well, there is certainly one time of year when every woman in Hollywood has eyes for just one man, and that man is Oscar.
So which exceptional actress will go home with him in February? Who will take him home? Will it be academy favorite Meryl Streep. Should we brace for a showdown of the ladies of "the help"? Could it be the runaway comedy hit "the bridesmaids" and it will make Oscar history this year, and we encompass the movies tonight, and our Oscar.
Plus, best picture pick. Our experts are weighing in on which movies will make the cut, "The Descendants" , "The Artist", "the Help". What are your picks? Will yours agree with ours?
This is the special edition of "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" and showbiz movies secrets.
And right now, Oscar winner Colin Firth tells "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" that he get star struck in the big award shows.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
COLIN FIRTH, OSCAR WINNER: There are certain things that sticks in their mind about the journey towards the Oscars and some of the - it will be random things, and I have seen people along the way, and it is not that you get star struck every time. But, just sitting backstage of the Oscars and somebody sat next to me, and it was Clint Eastwood and I had a brief conversation with him about jazz and that is going to stick with me forever, because we were not surrounded by chaos.

HAMMER: Yes, the "Bridesmaid`s" movie was not for the squeamish, no. So, do the ladies have what it takes to get a best picture Oscar nomination?
Welcome back to a special edition of "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" showbiz movie secret. I`m A.J. Hammer in Hollywood with ladies first.
So, who are the ladies courting this year`s golden guy? Will it be academy favorite Meryl Streep going for the gold this year or how about the ladies of "the Help"?
With me right now in Hollywood, Hyla, the co-host of the National Syndicated radio show, the Hollywood 5 countdown. In New York tonight, Meghan Alexander, who is a correspondent for "Inside Edition."
Let me kick things off with `Bridesmaid." Finally, on my flight out here, the Hollywood, I got to watch the movie. I thought I would get Alec Baldwin off of the plane because I was laughing so much. Everybody was great on this film.
"SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" just caught up with comedian Kathy Griffin at the women in Hollywood event and she made what I thought was a very important distinction about "Bridesmaids." Let`s watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
KATHY GRIFFIN, ACTRESS: I think it should be nominate for Oscar because they are really ground breaking. So, to get to make that much money for a female-driven comedy is what the suits live by, so those ladies got their attention.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Now, Megan, she makes a great point, but we know Oscar love is not the norm for a film like this, and what are the chances that the "bridesmaids" will get Oscar nods?
MEGAN ALEXANDER, INSIDE EDITION CORRESPONDENT: Right. Well look, if you look at the history of people that have won Oscar, usually it is for drama, but many people would argue, A.J., that it is takes just as much talent to make us laugh as it does to make us cry.
The "hangover" was not nominated. A lot of people felt that "bridesmaids" was the female equivalent of "the hangover." But all of those actresses just gave an A+ performance. Director (inaudible) said he believes there should be a separate category at the Oscars for comedy. I would like to see that however, I`d like to see the "bridesmaids" just be nominated no matter what. I think it is time.
HAMMER: Yes. Like I told you, I could not stop laughing and anybody who saw the film felt the same way.
Let`s talk about a long time Oscar favorite and no secret that Meryl Streep has won and she has been nominated 16 times. She won two Oscars. She is portraying Margaret Thatcher in the "Iron Lady." I love Meryl Streep. I think she is terrific. What do you think, Hyla?
HYLA: Well, absolutely nominated. Remember, this is a Weinstein film and this is what they do best come award season, they get the people nominated and taking home the Oscars at the end of the day. I think especially for the women, it is going to be an interesting mix. A very eclectic mix of nominees. You are going to see a lot of older Hollywood like Meryl Streep and Glenn Close. And you are also going to see young Hollywood, Elizabeth Olson is going to be in the mix this year, so it will be fun to seeing all those different types of women on the red carpet.
HAMMER: You know, let`s talk about the other young people we should expect to see because you got "the help," what an ensemble cast, so many talented women in this film and you have so many people in the film and everybody from Emma Stone, that`s just a few. Megan, among them, who do you think has the best chance of perhaps taking home an Oscar from this movie?
ALEXANDER: Well, all those ladies you just mention and Octavia Spencer who played Minie who is my personal favorite. A.J. she beat out Queen Latifah and Monique for this role. You just listed this power house group of women. I thought this was such an excellent cast. It took over a year to cast "the help." Normally, it takes a few weeks to cast a movie.
So, I would like to see Allison Janie, just because I thought her role was complex and strong but Octavia Spencer for many, she`s got my nod.
HAMMER: I would like to see Allison Jeanie just because I think she is one of the greatest and I don`t know, under awarded actresses of our generation and she is certainly hasn`t got any recognition. I would love to have her get some Oscar gold.
Alright, Hyla, Megan Alexander. Thanks to you both.
Well, newcomers are certainly a breath of fresh air at the Oscars, lot of excitement and so much exhilaration and winning an academy award, we all know, is definitely a career boost that can send a young actress into the stratosphere.
So, right now, here are some of the talented young stars who can add the title Oscar winner to the resume.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It is not like I am fibbing.
JESSICA CHASTAIN, CO-STAR, THE HELP: It is an inspiring film to be a part of. This is the female version of the underdog film and the men get the sports movies where the underdog wins. This is it.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I really need a maid.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: We love each other. I think that you see that on screen even though we met on the movie, and whereas this is a family movie where everybody knew each other, but you will see the love on the screen.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I don`t know. I should go back.
ELIZABETH OSLEN, STAR, MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE: I thought it was -- it is a gift and lucky to be able to like actually have something solid to work on and try to figure out as a young actor.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I have to go -- I can`t stay gone, so.
OSLEN: No one wants to rely on a young unknown person to carry the film, but I never thought of it carrying a film, so it is funny to say that.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You look like Marcy May.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Marcy was my grandmother`s name.
JOHN HAWKES, CO-STAR, MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE: Certainly, Lizzy Olsen who is terrific in the movie has the same amazing and has the same almost unnerving capacity of working with Jennifer Lawrence had in working with her on Jennifer on Winter`s Spell."
SHAILENE WOODLEY, CO-STAR, THE DESCENDANTS: I got the act together. I was just drinking and I have been doing really well actually and nobody seems to enjoy it.
Four months in Hawaii exceed any expectation that I could have created for myself. And they said, talking a about film that I am passionate about is like the bing cherry on top, because there is nothing that could ever exceed this.
You really don`t have clue, do you? Dad -- dad, mom was cheating on you.
This Cinderella moment will never feel like a Cinderella moment for me. It will always feel like, what? What is happening here?
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: Well, I am thinking that the Cinderella moment could happen for the entire cast of "the descendents." I can tell you, their performances were all Oscar worthy.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I will be a lot more civil with him around.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What`s up, bro.

HAMMER: Another year of great movies. Another nail-biting race to see which films make the cut of the academy award best picture nominees. I know which movies are my favorites this Oscar season, but which ones will the academy choose as the very best of the best?
Well, here with the predictions for the best picture nominees, "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" producer JD Cargill, who is here`s with me in Hollywood tonight and in New York, entertainment journalist April Woodard.
Let me start with you, April. So many great contenders this year, I actually think it is going to be a little tough to withal down, give me your top nominee predictions.
WOODARD: My top nominee prediction of course is going to be Leo. I think that he is going to get best Oscar. I think the "help" is going to be in there. "J. Edgar" and "the descendents" are going to be the top grade.
HAMMER: JD, what do you think? Are you with April? Do you have totally different top picks?
JD CARGILL, PRODUCER, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT: Well, not totally different. I agree with April on "the descendents" but "J. Edgar" well, I don`t know if she has seen the other movies that are out there right now but there are way more movies to choose from. People love good, good movies that make you feel good, make you laugh and cry. "J. Edgar" did not do that, but "the descendents", "the Artist" and "the help" definitely did.
HAMMER: Yes. I have the feeling that the "descendents" could be very well be one in those sweet type movies in so many of the different categories.
But let`s talk about "the Help" for a moment April. I know you are a big fan of that movie. We have seen Viola Davis on the red carpet before. Is she a lock to be there once again as a nominees this year, would you say?
WOODARD: I would definitely say, she is going to be a nominee. I mean, when you look at her body of work and what she has been doing over the years, she has been consistently strong, and of course, no different in "the help" and I think that maybe her time has come.
HAMMER: It would be so, so cool to her see her, because she is so humbled over the recognition she has gotten over the years.
Now, JD, you know that people are saying that the good friends George Clooney and Brad Pitt could wind up in this year`s Oscars race going head- to-head, which obviously would be a great story for us, what do you think? Do you see it happening?
CARGILL: Yes, definitely. Absolutely, if you love a red carpet filled with major movie stars, the Oscars will have Brad and George going head-to- head. I can`t wait for that night, because the screaming, the intense of the volume is going to be so loud. We are all going to be deaf for a week.
WOODARD: Yes, the Hollywood hunks.
HAMMER: Yes. I have a feeling. It`s Hollywood hunks, Hollywood`s pretty boys. I think the race is on. JD Cargill. April Woodard. Thanks to you, both.
WOODARD: Sure.
HAMMER: And that is it for this very special edition of "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT," showbiz movie secrets. Thank you for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer. END
