(MUSIC)

Hello, I`m A.J. Hammer in New York, and we`ve got big news breaking tonight, Deen`s diet dilemma. The Deen is Paula Deen.

Paula Deen has of course built an empire on getting us all to eat those big delicious calorie-packed fried butter-filled dishes, you know, the kind of food that your doctor will yell at you for eating and of course warn you that it could cause heart disease or diabetes.

Well, today Paula Deen went on the "Today" show and revealed to the world that, yes, she has diabetes and that she`s kept it a secret for three years.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ROKER: It is true, you have type two diabetes?

PAULA DEEN, CELEBRITY COOK: I do. I was diagnosed three years ago during a regular physical exam with my doctor that I had type two diabetes. And I`m here today to let the world know that it is not a death sentence.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: This is a pretty big deal. I am guessing Paula Deen revealing that information gave a lot of people heartburn today and has a lot of people asking so many questions.

Big, burning deep-fried questions like, no more deliciousness from Deen? Is Deen`s food empire cooked? And was she wrong to have kept this a secret for years even as she encouraged people to eat away?

With me tonight in New York, "Dancing with the Stars" dance pro, Louis Van Amstel who has a great popular dance program called "La Blast" that just came out on DVD today.

From Atlanta tonight, we have CNN senior medical correspondent, Elizabeth Cohen. Great to see you both.

Now, Al Roker was on the money this morning pressing Paula about the fact she kept her diabetes a secret for three years. Watch what she said when Al asked her why she waited so long.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DEEN: I intentionally did it, Al. I came home. I told my children. I told my husband. I said, "I`m going to keep this close to my chest for the time being," because I had to figure things out in my own head.

I had to give time to think about it and talk to my doctor, because, Al, at the time - you know, I tell everything. I could have walked out and said, "Hey, you all, I`ve been diagnosed with type two diabetes," and walked away.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: You now, see, I don`t actually think she could have done that. Of course, the Paula Deen we all know is a major brand, a major empire. I`m talking cookbooks, cookware, TV shows.

Louis, do you really think Paul Deen, of all people, and I understand it`s a personal decision. But could she really have said, "I have diabetes" and just walked away and let that be that?

LOUIS VAN AMSTEL, DANCING PRO, "DANCING WITH THE STARS": I think she made the smart decision by first taking time for herself and her family to get used to it and then make the business decisions.

And I think she made the right decision to wait but also she came out with it. Honesty is the best thing because she has to take this to her grave and you can`t live happily if you keep things for yourself.

HAMMER: Yes.

VAN AMSTEL: So she just made right choice.

HAMMER: Yes. And as she said, she is a person who shares virtually everything with everybody. She`s a national star partially because of that.

VAN AMSTEL: The bigger question is, what is she going to do with her empire? Is she going to change?

HAMMER: Well, that`s it. And of course, this was no surprise to me at all since the reports first surfaced late last week that Paula had type two diabetes before she came out and spoke about it.

People have been buzzing. You look anywhere online, people are talking about it saying that Paula was trying to hide it because she knew it might hurt her bottom line. And that is something that Al Roker pressed her on this morning on the "Today" show. Let`s watch that.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DEEN: People are not going to quit eating. We quit eating, we`re all out of here. No, I wanted to bring something to the table when I came forward.

And I`ve always been one to think that I bring hope because I`ve had lots of obstacles in my life, you all.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: And I want to be very realistic about this whole thing. I don`t want to pile it on Paula at all, but she`s a celebrity chef who has pushed things like this.

Look at this, the infamous burger called the "Lady`s Brunch Burger." I`m talking about doughnuts, bacon, a beef patty, butter, bread - all matter of stuff you really don`t want to eat too much of.

How is she going to suddenly change her way and still be Paula Deen? Elizabeth, let me ask you about this. Do you think it is possible that her empire won`t take a hit given all that she has stood for, for so long?

ELIZABETH COHEN, CNN SENIOR MEDICAL CORRESPONDENT: You know, I think that her fans love the kind of food that she does. And I mean, they`re not stupid. They know that this kind of food is, as some people would say a heart attack on a plate or type two diabetes diagnosis on a plate.

HAMMER: Yes.

COHEN: So you know, this shouldn`t be shocking anyone. I don`t know that she will really change. Now, her sons apparently are going to start a show that has a lighter version of their mom`s recipes and maybe that will get some attention.

But you know, I think the reality is that people want to see these fatty delicious foods. And by now you would think that they know that it`s not good to eat that on a regular basis.

HAMMER: Dripping with rich creamery butter. Look, I went over to our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook page today. It was cooking with gas. We have so many people making comments about Paula revealing the fact that she has diabetes.

Let me read a couple to you. This is Bernard T, "Who is surprised? I mean, really, her cooking has to be some of the most unhealthy dishes around."

Gaye F wrote, "She`ll cash in like she has everything else. It is hypocritical. Her whole image is butter and fat. And now, she`s in the drug business selling diabetic drugs as a spokesperson. When will it end?"

People are angry. You know, I get that they feel betrayed because she kept the diagnosis a secret for so long. And again, she had every right to, of course.

But Louis, do you think, you know, she was wrong to keep it a secret for so long and continued to encourage people to eat away?

AMSTEL: I think - I mean, yes. I think that - I think right now - I`m stumbling for words. Right now, she has the golden opportunity to change up a little bit of her recipes and really start helping fighting obesity rather than having so many fans that love her food but really loving heart attack food.

I mean, it`s really she has a golden chance right now to really make a change in her life.

HAMMER: I agree with you. And to Elizabeth`s point before, her fans are not stupid. They know you`re not supposed to eat this food every day, but people do.

VAN AMSTEL: Yes.

HAMMER: That is part of the issue Paula has been put on the defense about this before. In fact, a fellow famous chef, Anthony Bourdain, once said this about Paula Deen in an interview he gave to "TV Guide." He said, "The worst, most dangerous person to America is clearly Paula Deen."

Now, that`s pretty harsh. But he has openly criticized her high-fat cooking, Elizabeth. Was it wrong for Paula to have kept the diabetes a secret for so long in your mind given that she really was still pushing the big fatty foods all that time?

COHEN: You know, I think she did miss an opportunity to really educate people for three years. I mean, people listen to her. And so she missed those three years where she could have been telling people to eat better.

Now, I think one of the things that some people are really finding disappointing in this whole story is that she says that the way she eats has nothing to do with her type two diabetes.

HAMMER: Right.

COHEN: She says, "I eat fine. I eat in moderation." That`s the term she keeps using, "My diet has absolutely nothing to do with my type two diabetes."

Well, I think a lot of doctors would say that that`s probably not correct. I mean, the number one factor that puts you at risk for type two diabetes is your weight.

So she`s making this sort of division between her diet and type two diabetes. And I think a lot of doctors would find it troubling.

VAN AMSTEL: Is she eating the hamburger herself? Is that her diet what she was just making?

HAMMER: Gosh, I hope not. I mean, did you see the thing?

COHEN: I know.

HAMMER: There are doughnuts. In between the doughnuts where like three eggs -

COHEN: There`s 1,000 calories.

VAN AMSTEL: Oh, my god. Look at that.

(CROSS TALK)

HAMMER: 1,000 calories. Elizabeth, I got to tell you something. I think you are shortchanging a little bit there.

VAN AMSTEL: Wow. Well, I have a good idea. Activity is the best thing. If Paula Deen goes on "Dancing with the Stars," I would love to have her as my partner, and she could become inspiration. How about it?

HAMMER: Yes. Well, I think that`s a great idea. And actually, do you know what? The smartest thing "Dancing with the Stars" could do right now is try to recruit Paula Deen.

VAN AMSTEL: There you go.

HAMMER: I absolutely agree with you. Look, you know, right now we have talked about this. A great idea for her would be to sort of present recipes.

And she said she`s going to do this as her new program where you can eat healthy food that tastes good. It`s no secret to any of us that it can be done.

But Louis, can she have it both ways? She is, after all, Paula Deen who made her reputation entirely on something else. Does this mean no more deliciousness from Paula Deen?

VAN AMSTEL: I think she can still make the Paula Deen deliciousness, but is America going to be educated now in saying, "No, enough is enough, and we have to be healthier"?

Obesity is still the number one disease, and I hate to bring that up. But she has so many fans. She can really change people`s minds. She`s a big celebrity.

HAMMER: Let`s hope she does it, and great idea having her on "Dancing with the Stars." I think that is perfect. You heard it right here. Louis Van Amstel, Dr. Elizabeth Cohen, thank you both so much.

And we move on to losing it with Louis. Pay close attention now. We see always those stars on "Dancing with the Stars" dropping lbs like crazy when they do the show, right?

Well, tonight, dancing pro, Louis is coming right back to reveal how you can do it, too. And it`s pretty easy.

It`s been 10 days since the monumental birthday of Beyonce`s baby girl, Blue, as the world continues to wait, of course, for those coveted first pictures. Is Beyonce feeling a little pressured? I`ll ask this beautiful, young woman, a Hollywood superstar mom knowing about that pressure, Jessica Alba.

Jessica is right here with advice for Beyonce in a headline-making SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview.

Is that the happiest mug shot ever? I mean, look at this thing. That`s "Bachelorette" alum, Kasey Kahl, in police custody. Why is he grinning? Details coming up. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

And now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I would like to be the mother of your children. I would take your last name. I`ve taken the liberty of typing up a pre-nup. And happy 90th birthday, and I love you. Thank you for letting me be here.

BETTY WHITE, COMEDIAN: Thank you so much and forget those other women.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Oh, my gosh.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Lindsay as Liz. Tonight, the SHOWBIZ great debate, who should play Elizabeth Taylor, Lindsay Lohan or could Megan Fox get the role of a lifetime for a TV movie on Lifetime?

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with a Taylor-made battle.

Now, Lindsay Lohan back in court today. She tried to convince a judge she is on the fast track to completing her probation.

When she`s done schlepping at the morgue for community service, Lindsay could very well get a role that`s to die for, playing the legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor.

Lilo seems to think maybe she`s got a lock on playing Liz. But there were brand-new reports that Megan Fox is in the running for this role.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter was right there as Lindsay headed to court today. Kareen joining me now from Hollywood. So what did go down today?

KAREEN WYNTER, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT CORRESPONDENT: A.J., oh, Lindsay - she was back in the play set. Really, really has become almost as familiar to her as the nightclubs that she used to be famous for partying it up in, the L.A. Courthouse.

And believe it or not, she was early, so we give her credit for that. Lindsay was dressed appropriately in a white overcoat and pants, looking a little conservative.

Now, Judge Stephanie Sautner said she was very pleased with Lindsay`s progress. Here`s what she had to say this morning.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JUDGE STEPHANIE SAUTNER, LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT: I received a probation report as well as a report from the volunteer center. Ms. Lohan was to do 12 days at the morgue and four counseling sessions. And I`m pleased to say she`s done it all on schedule.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

WYNTER: Rave reviews. She told the starlet, A.J., to, quote, "Keep doing what you`re doing. You appear to be doing it well."

Now, the judge also ordered Lindsay 15 more days of community service and five therapy sessions. Lindsay has to finish all of it, A.J., by her next hearing date that is scheduled for February 22nd. Let`s see if she can make it there.

HAMMER: I feel positive about this, Kareen. It does seem that maybe, just maybe, Lindsay is getting her act together finally. I realize I have said that before and I`m staying positive here.

WYNTER: You bet.

HAMMER: Now, assuming that she has finally settled down and she`s getting into a groove, you`ve got to tell us about this possible competition between her and Megan Fox to play Elizabeth Taylor in a TV movie.

WYNTER: Sounds interesting, huh? Well, here`s the deal, A.J. Lindsay is in talks to play Dame Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime movie. It`s called "Liz and Dick."

Perhaps, that`s one of the reasons, I`m thinking here, she`s plowing through those legal proceedings so that she can lockdown this role.

Now, it had been reported, A.J., today that Megan Fox was also being considered for the part. But her rep tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Megan is not involved in the project.

That may be, but I`m thinking here that perhaps a little friendly competition could keep Lindsay, you know, on the straight and narrow.

I mean, who wouldn`t want to slip into those sparkling diamonds and play a screen legend? It`s a dream role, A.J.

HAMMER: Yes. Yes. No kidding. And I have to tell you, if I was the casting director, maybe people will disagree with me, I would choose Lindsay for the role.

WYNTER: I have to agree with you.

HAMMER: And I think the deal is somebody has got to take a chance right now. She`s in the right place it seems with what`s going on in court.

Give her an opportunity. I have a feeling she`s in a place, Kareen, where she would be so thankful. And she certainly has the talent to back it up.

WYNTER: You`re right on, A.J., not to mention the media that follows this girl. Her every move from her hair salon visits to what she writes on her fingernails. The producers have - they have to be keeping that in mind, just the buzz that would follow a movie where Lindsay Lohan is attached.

HAMMER: Yes. It would be pretty incredible.

WYNTER: Everyone would want to see it. Everyone would talk about it.

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter. All right, Kareen. Thanks so much. We move now from a legendary beauty to a hysterical duo.

I`m talking about Sofia Vergara and Ellen DeGeneres. These two ladies appearing together for the first time as Covergirl models in a new commercial. They are beautiful inside and out.

But did you see this? Sofia and Ellen poking a little fun at themselves in what I thought was a side-splitting beauty demonstration on Ellen`s show. Watch this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ELLEN DEGENERES, HOST, "THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW": So what I`m going to do is I`m going to be her arms and I am going to apply the makeup.

SOFIA VERGARA, ACTRESS: I had a long night last night and I am the night manager at the Circle K. So I`m going to splash a little water on my face.

Now I need to apply some foundation. One cup covers discoloration lines and wrinkles. And one bottle helps improve the skin tone over the time. I still look beautiful.

But we don`t have a lot of time to use an entire bottle right now. Now, I`m going to put on a lot of eye shadow. Sometimes, just for fun, I like to put it in my nose.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Fantastic. I get the impression Ellen was having a good time there. Even when she`s a mess, Sofia Vergara is still spectacular.

All right. We move to an epic diva face-off. Elton versus Madonna. The wild Golden Globe showdown that SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has all over from the start.

Madonna wins a Globe. Elton is ticked. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT dares to ask, whose side are you on?

And are you ready for the new Kim Kardashian? Forget about the blinding bling and glitzy bashes. I want you to brace yourself for Kim K, the crusader. I will explain.

Now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.

BRAD PITT: Oh, dear. Dear god. OK.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Time for the SHOWBIZ buzz list. Here`s what the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT staff is buzzing about.

We can`t lie. We`re hooked on the new show "House of Lies," starring the incredible Don Cheadle on Showtime.

A new way to say "Hey!" The Hey Tell app lets you record a voice message on your smart phone and send it to another person without even dialing them up.

We honestly love this. Jessica Alba here tonight to tell us about her fantastic eco-friendly baby line. It`s the Honest Company with products that don`t break the bank.

This dog is a ham. We are still buzzing about, Uggy, the dog from the Golden Globe-winning movie, "The Artist." That dog stole the show at the Globes.

And we`re ready to soar with red tails, a brilliant new movie about the Tuskegee airmen of World War II. It opens on Friday. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: We will not go away. We have a right to fight for our country the same as every other American. So you shut us down or you let us fly.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Tonight, Fergie`s fails. Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, is fast becoming the queen of cringe. Her latest caught-on-tape scandal can, not only land her in prison for 22 years, but it could actually end Fergie`s TV career on Oprah Winfrey`s network as well.

The latest royal mess involves Sarah`s undercover expose about alleged abuse in Turkish orphanages. Her seemingly good deed went horrible wrong. And now, Fergie`s in trouble with the Turks for showing the faces of allegedly abused orphans.

I want to roll out the SHOWBIZ news line of Fergie`s recent hits and misses. May 2010, Sarah Ferguson caught on tape offering to sell time with her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.

June 2011, after confessing to Oprah Winfrey she was drunk during that caught-on-tape scandal, she gets a reality show on Oprah`s network.

And in late 2011, there are reports that Fergie hopes to move to L.A. to jump-start a TV career after her success with Oprah.

Now, last week she`s charged in connection with her undercover TV documentary about Turkish orphanages.

With me now in New York, legal analyst, Sunny Hostin. Sarah Ferguson trying to launch one of the biggest career transformations in television history, from real royalty, Sunny, to television royalty with the help of the queen of TV, Oprah Winfrey.

This bums me out because I like Fergie a lot. I think she was heading in the right direction. Do you think it`s going to take Oprah to bail her out of this really tough-looking situation?

SUNNY HOSTIN, LEGAL ANALYST, "IN SESSION": I don`t think she`s going to need Oprah here. I think the British government is going to help her.

There`s no way that the British government is going to pass Fergie along to Turkish authorities. Let`s face it. And I think you`re right. She was trying to do the right thing here.

She`s trying to expose orphanages that aren`t treating children well. She`s trying to expose child abuse which, you know, is an issue dear to my heart. So I don`t think she needs Oprah.

In fact, I think Oprah is going to like she was trying to do this sort of thing, trying to expose this type of horrible tragedy.

HAMMER: I totally agree. It is hard to imagine a woman who technically is the mother of two heirs to the throne in England could wind up in a Turkish prison for some 22 years.

HOSTIN: Not going to happen.

HAMMER: Let`s hope that doesn`t happen. Sunny Hostin, I thank you as always.

Time for SHOWBIZ lineup - here`s what`s coming up at the bottom of the hour on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

As Beyonce says hello to motherhood, can she kiss sexy movie roles goodbye? I don`t think so. But how will she shed the baby weight? When will the world see her baby, Blue.

Tonight, we`ve got mommy advice for Beyonce from another superstar mom that we love, Jessica Alba. Jessica`s advice in headline-making SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview.

And the happiest mug shot ever. Look at that. Tonight, we`ll tell you why the "Bachelorette" alum, Kasey Kahl, just landed in the mug shot hall of fame. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Here comes the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - these are more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It`s 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. And we`ve got big news breaking tonight, the Beyonce baby effect.

First, of course, we had Katie and Tom, then Brad and Angelina, Mariah and Nick. And now, Beyonce and Jay Z baby watch is in full effect.

When will we get to see their baby girl? The world wants to know, when are we going to see Blue Ivy for the first time? It`s an awful lot of pressure for a first time superstar parent.

So what to do? What to do? What to do? Release a photo of it. Keep it private. I`m thinking who better to give advice to the superstar duo than another superstar mom who we love, Jessica Alba.

Now, Jessica is the co-founder and chief inspiration officer of the Honest Company. It`s so cool, offers safe, all-natural products for babies. Jessica right here in New York for a SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview. It`s terrific to see you.

JESSICA ALBA, ACTRESS: Nice to see you, too.

HAMMER: And I get the impression not having seen you since you`ve been a mom now for, well, four years. Honor is almost four years old - three-and- a-half.

ALBA: Yes, she`s three-and-a-half.

HAMMER: And Haven is five months.

ALBA: Five months.

HAMMER: Amazing. I get the impression it`s the best job on earth for you.

ALBA: It is. I mean, it doesn`t even feel - I mean, it doesn`t feel like a job. It just feels like it`s life and it`s what I always should have been doing. I feel like I finally, like, came into my own as a mom.

HAMMER: And how does the second time around compare? It`s obviously different. You`re coming from a place of experience now.

ALBA: Right.

HAMMER: How does it compare to what you expected it to be like having a second child?

ALBA: It`s not as daunting. And every milestone, I`m not so anxious for Haven to reach, where with Honor I was, like, "When is she going to sit up?"

HAMMER: Right.

ALBA: "When is she going to eat solids? When is going to roll?"

HAMMER: You`re not freaking out about that stuff.

ALBA: No, no, no. I`m like she`ll do it eventually. So -

HAMMER: And I remember reading somewhere you loved being pregnant, which struck me because my sister said that she loved being pregnant. Did I have that right? I saw in one interview you had given after you gave birth the first time.

ALBA: I don`t know. I don`t know if I loved being pregnant. It was fine. It was fine.

HAMMER: Maybe a third? A fourth?

ALBA: I don`t know. I don`t know. My baby is still young.

HAMMER: I love following you on Twitter and you get to talk about being a mom and everything that`s going on in your life.

And I saw where you were exchanging tweets with another soon-to-be celebrity mom, Jessica Simpson, who said she wants to follow in your footsteps.

You really are setting such a great example for new star moms like Beyonce. Let`s talk about B for a second, because we have talked a lot about the fact that, look, people are clamoring to get a picture of baby Blue.

This always happens. It happened to you. It happens to any celebrity mother and it is a ton - a ton of pressure. Do you think she should go ahead and shoot their photo and release it?

So you think she should just let it happen organically? I mean, everybody has a different choice to make.

ALBA: Yes.

HAMMER: But you know, it worked for you to put your picture on "OK" magazine.

ALBA: Well, really, for us, for our family, we wanted to control the experience. And we put the money that the picture made into a bank account for Honor to do whatever she wants to do with.

You know, it`s her picture and it`s her birth. And we didn`t want it to be like a weird thing, you know, walking out of the house with her for the first time.

HAMMER: Well, it`s scary too.

ALBA: Yes. I mean, it`s - and certainly if there`s, like, a price tag on your child, which is so bizarre, people will go to like crazy lengths.

And we wanted to avoid that like hysteria. And then also if you can control the experience and we`re friends with the photographer and always like a nice day in the house and we got pictures for our family that we`ll always have and that are really beautiful.

And yes - and then, obviously, people want to buy them and all of that. And you can just give the money to charity, to your baby and that`s it.

HAMMER: Done.

ALBA: And so - done. But I think, you know, to each his own. And it`s really not the end of the world. It`s not really the biggest thing in the world. The biggest thing is having a healthy baby and being happy in your home. And so I`m sure Beyonce will make the best decision for her family.

HAMMER: Yes. I have a feeling they will figure it out. When you gave birth, I remember you were very candid about what you felt it did to your body.

I know there`s a lot of pressure on some actresses to immediately whip themselves back into shape. And I read somewhere where you said, "You know, this is how I am and it will be what it will be."

But I also remember you got to work pretty quickly after your first child was born. So what worked for you that you might advise a new mom like Beyonce to do, or any new mom, just something that worked for you in your regimen.

ALBA: Beyonce is not a human being. She`s, you know, really different to other people. She`s insanely talented.

HAMMER: No, no. But seriously, you had stuff that obviously - stuff that obviously worked for you.

ALBA: Yes.

HAMMER: What in particular might you suggest she do to sort of get her pre-having-a-baby body back?

ALBA: I don`t know - I don`t know if for her - I mean, I wouldn`t say - I would call her and talk to her about it because I know her. So it would be weird for me to like, I`m dishing advice on a TV show.

HAMMER: Well, can you tell us what you might say to her?

ALBA: No, no, no, no. That`s weird.

HAMMER: OK.

ALBA: But to any mom out there, you - I don`t know. It`s really just about the health of your baby and what makes you feel good.

And when you`re ready to start working out and if that fits in with your lifestyle, then go for it and try to make healthy choices. I found that prenatal yoga was really great and I continue to do yoga after.

And I just think - yes, whatever makes you feel good is what you should do. And I don`t think you should have so much pressure to like lose the weight and be this like - this idea of something perfect.

I think everybody is different. It`s more important to be, like, genuine with what`s happening in your life at that time. So I don`t know. It`s really nice having a brand-new baby.

You just want to like stare at them all day and night and get butterflies in your stomach and you fall in love all over again.

HAMMER: Which is what makes it weird when the whole world is watching, I suppose, because you really want it to be so private. But obviously, it`s unavoidable in your line of work.

ALBA: It`s true. It`s interesting.

HAMMER: Have you spoken to her since she gave birth?

ALBA: No, I saw her right before.

HAMMER: Anything you want to say to her right now before we move on.

ALBA: I don`t think she`s going to be watching.

HAMMER: She`s watching. I guarantee you.

ALBA: I`ll call her and tell her.

HAMMER: Let`s talk about the fact that, you know, not only are you a successful actress and a busy, busy mom, but now, a business owner. I don`t know if you ever imagine the time when you would be running your own company. The Honest Company was inspired by your daughters, why?

ALBA: Yes. Well, I was trying to find safe and healthy products for my kids. When you are pregnant they`re like, like, "Oh, you now have to use this, you know, shampoo and this laundry detergent and all these things."

And I was, like, why? You know, what`s wrong with normal products. And I found that there are all these toxic chemicals in normal products and in baby products. And so I basically had to make a company that didn`t exist that offered eco-friendly, beautifully-designed, affordable products that delivered straight to your door.

HAMMER: Sounds like you are filling a good need -

ALBA: yes.

HAMMER: Because obviously, it is a maze out there of figuring all that out.

ALBA: And it`s nice to have one company that you know did all the hard work.

HAMMER: Yes. And eco-friendly. You know, I`m right there with you on that part of it. OK. Before I let you go, you just have to tell me because everybody asks me when they heard you were coming on the show. Please, please ask Jessica.

ALBA: What?

HAMMER: Another "Fantastic Four" movie, "Sea Storm" coming out?

ALBA: I don`t know.

HAMMER: Coming back?

ALBA: I don`t know, but I am excited. You know, I`ve been focusing on "Honest.com" and I`ve been focusing on, you know, just mommy-hood and everything that comes with that.

And I`m ready to get back to work and I would love to do an action movie so -

HAMMER: So if it were to happen, you`re right there.

ALBA: I would be right there.

HAMMER: Jessica, thanks so much for being with us.

ALBA: Thank you for having me.

HAMMER: And congratulations on motherhood. Hope to see you before, you know, another dozen years passes.

ALBA: Yes. Thank you.

HAMMER: Make sure you check out Jessica`s new venture, the Honest Company. It`s online, as she mentioned, at "Honest.com."

TEXT: Oprah Winfrey to shoot OWN TV show during her first trip to India. Steven Tyler reveals on "Ellen" how he fell for his fiancee, Erin Brady.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

STEVEN TYLER, MUSICIAN: The first time I saw her, she worked for Clear Channel, so she was playing in the band, and I didn`t notice her.

One night, she had a hair band on around her head. And she looked really old fashioned and (UNINTELLIGIBLE), if there`s such a word. So I took her back to the room and she tied me up with it, and I thought, "I`m marrying this girl."

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: That is Louis Van Amstel, showing off his movies on "Dancing with the Stars" as he teaches celebrities like Kelly Osbourne and Niecy Nash how to dance like a pro.

And the extra benefit to the stars is shedding those unwanted pounds. And now, Louis is ready to reveal his dancing weight loss secrets right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

Tonight, we have dancing weight loss secrets straight from the ballroom for you. Kirstie Alley, Kelly Osbourne, Ricki Lake - think about it. I mean, we`ve seen so many stars so dramatically drop weight and slim down while they`ve been competing on the show.

So now we`re revealing the secrets on how it is done. "Dancing with the Stars" pro Louis Van Amstell is joining me right now. He has a great DVD series called "La Blast." It is out now.

What better way to shed the lbs than with some dance. Louis, it`s always good to see you. Happy new year to you.

VAN AMSTEL: Happy new year to you, A.J.

HAMMER: We`re not past the point where I can wish you a happy new year.

VAN AMSTEL: Yes. Well -

HAMMER: And look, just to mention a few of the stars that we have seen literally transform their bodies on "Dancing with the Stars," obviously, they are all working very hard. But what would you say is the main secret to their success, the fact that they take so much off?

VAN AMSTEL: Two things that are really important. First is that dance is a workout in disguise. You don`t really feel like you`re working out.

And then, the other thing is because dance really touches you, it really is very revealing. So when celebrities get involved and they really get into it, then their self-confidence comes out.

And then, when the audience reacts to that, they want to work even harder, so they get more involved. And the more involved you get in dance, the more you shed those pounds.

HAMMER: But as you well know, there are some people who say, "You know what? I`m so out of shape I can`t possibly do this. I can`t get up there and dance." So what kind of strategy do you have to getting people on board to let them know, "Hey, you can really do it"?

VAN AMSTEL: That`s why I developed the "La Blast" DVD series with five different DVDs. So level one is for the absolute beginner. Let`s dance is basic what you need.

And anyone from losing 50, 60 pounds to people that are older or younger - it doesn`t matter. If you can clap to rhythm, you can dance it. That`s level one.

HAMMER: But here - no. Let me just - I`m going to pause you there so people - we`ll look at all the different levels which will take through different steps.

But you`ve said that about the rhythm. You`ve seen tape of me dancing and you know I can`t dance.

VAN AMSTEL: Oh, come on. I saw you -

HAMMER: So what do you tell people who can`t dance who want to do something like this? Do you need to be able to actually have that rhythm?

VAN AMSTEL: First of all, did you really give it an hour? No. You were in there for five seconds and then gave up.

HAMMER: All right.

VAN AMSTEL: And you want to control the situation. That`s the one thing if you are ready to give up control and get out of your head and let your body do it, you can do it.

HAMMER: Perfect. It`s a great program -

VAN AMSTEL: If you give me 10 minutes, wiggle on this table and you can do it.

HAMMER: I would be on my butt on the floor. I won`t be any good. Louis, great to see you.

VAN AMSTEL: Thank you.

HAMMER: And make sure you check out Louis`s DVDs called "La Blast." It will help you.

HAMMER: Let`s move now to war of the divas. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT was the first to report on the big SHOWBIZ showdown at the Golden Globes. We`re talking Elton versus Madonna.

Madonna won the Globe for best original song at the Golden Globes, beating out Elton John. But this battle started long before the Globes got under way. Elton John actually went after Madonna on NBC`s pre-show. Watch what he said.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ELTON JOHN, MUSICIAN: We`ve got a lot of competition. And you know, I probably think Mary J. might win it for "The Help." Madonna doesn`t (EXPLETIVE DELETED).

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Those are fighting words.

JOHN: Those are accurate words.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Well, there you go. Nice Elton. After Madonna beat out Elton, she couldn`t resist the opportunity to get in a little dig of her own.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MADONNA: I hope he speaks to me for the next couple of years. He`s known to get mad at me, so I don`t know. He`s brilliant and I adore him so he`ll win another award. I don`t feel bad.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Nischelle Turner was right with me on the red carpet. And we were covering the Globes from start to finish.

Nischelle, look, people love a good feud. This one is still getting a lot of buzz. It`s even growing tonight online and on TV.

NISCHELLE TURNER, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT CORRESPONDENT: Yes.

HAMMER: What`s the latest?

TURNER: Oh, gosh, A.J., this is bigger and bigger. Now, today, the ladies of "The View" got in on the action. Barbara Walters seemed to come down on Team Madonna. But then, no, she changed her tone a little bit. Watch what she said this morning.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BARBARA WALTERS, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER AND CO-HOST, THE VIEW: We`ve talked about this all the time that when you lose, you know, you`re one of the nominees and then you lose. And we all go - so it`s sort of nice to have somebody say, you know what, "It should have been me." I find it refreshing.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

TURNER: So, A.J., Barbara Walters thinks that it`s refreshing.

HAMMER: Yes, really refreshing. It actually is an interesting perspective. I`m thinking that Barbara is saying what a lot of the nominees are thinking.

TURNER: yes.

HAMMER: And I know that this Elton-Madonna battle has got a lot more people fired up, a lot of people talking about this on Facebook today.

TURNER: Oh, yes, indeed. People are talking. We posted this question on the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook wall. Whose side are you on, Elton or Madonna?

And the score - well, it`s just really almost too close to call. Amy Beth C. is Team Madonna. She writes, "Sounds like someone is a sore loser."

And Diane R - she is also rocking with Madonna. She says, "He (Elton) is a major talent but showed a nasty side of himself."

But Dorothy P, team Elton all the way, writing that she "Never liked Madonna. Elton John`s music has always been original and he didn`t have to do it half naked. He may be a sore loser, but I would have voted for him to win." And there you have it, A.J.

HAMMER: All right. Well, I don`t think this battle royale is over. Nischelle Turner, thank you so much.

From a celebrity showdown now to a celebrity on the skids. Tonight, the star who`s canceling most of his new U.K. tour. And are exes J. Lo and Marc Anthony really friends again? All that in "The Buzz Today."

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice-over) J. Lo and Marc make nice. Jennifer Lopez just revealed to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT how she and her ex, Marc Anthony, are making it work despite their divorce. The two are busy promoting their new show, "Q` Viva," and they just might be the friendliest exes ever.

JENNIFER LOPEZ, SINGER AND ACTRESS: We`re friends first. We`re parents and we just have a good time together. I think I laughed more in the past three days with Marc and Jamie, but a lot with Marc.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Marc keeps everyone laughing.

LOPEZ: Than I have in a long time. We just - that`s just our relationship. This is an incredible season of "Idol," also with "Q` Viva" running at the same time, you know, two totally different things that we`re involved with, but both so creative and so fulfilling.

I just feel so blessed and lucky. And feel blessed and lucky to be able to work with people over at "Idol" as I feel so blessed and lucky to be able to work with everybody here. I mean, it`s good. I`m a lucky girl.

HAMMER: Hoff`s tour is off. David Hasselhoff`s U.K. tour has been cut down to just one performance while ticket sales were reportedly low. David`s rep tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, "The cancellation was due to other engagements. David is doing `Celebrity Apprentice` in Australia and is there now as production has begun so we have moved his London show date. His tour dates need to be rescheduled as well."

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: We love the Hoff. Kim Kardashian is getting big buzz herself tonight for her brand-new image overhaul. Her red carpet walk for charity. Her new series side. Is Kim really trying to rescue the Kardashian brand after her toxic breakup? New clues, next. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Here`s the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news tonight.

TEXT: Jesse Metcalfe engaged to actress Cara Santana. Patrick Duffy talks to SHOWBIZ about cast reprising roles on "Dallas" remake.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PATRICK DUFFY, ACTOR: I`ve got a script. Larry got a script. (UNINTELLIGIBLE) got a script from Cynthia Cidre. We read it and it was as if Leonard Katzman, who really was the heart and soul of "Dallas," rose up or died, so you can come from any direction. But whatever he does channeling right through Cynthia, it was the best script I`ve read of "Dallas" including about half of the year`s "Dallas" was on the air. From that moment, I was left by Cynthia.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Tonight, the Kim Kardashian reinvention tour? SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has brand-new evidence that Kim K. is smack in the middle of a major image overhaul.

She made a surprise appearance at a huge L.A. charity bash to help raise money for Haiti. That`s obviously a good thing. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT was right there. We went one-on-one with Kim. Nischelle Turner is in Hollywood tonight. What`s going on here?

TURNER: Oh, A.J., Kim was all business, first of all, at the J.P. Haitian Relief Organization. But I can tell you it was a star bonanza.

And Kim rubbed elbows with Sean Penn, George Clooney and Julia Roberts. I can also tell you that she just had one thing on her mind and that is showing her serious side and her concern for the victims of the 2011 earthquake in Haiti.

Now, watch what she told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT about her recent trip there.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KIM KARDASHIAN, REALITY TV STAR: I recently went to Haiti. I didn`t have any expectations going down there. I wanted to learn for myself and make it a really educating trip.

And when I got down there, I felt like there`s so much that has to be done. I didn`t even know where to start. By working with different organizations, you really learn what can you help the quickest.

And I just think everyone can help in any way whether it`s online or do anything. So my experience was definitely an eye-opening experience and I can`t wait to go back.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

TURNER: Now, A.J., Kim suddenly is showing a very different side of herself. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can reveal that Kim K claims her reality empire is now going to focus a lot less on her own life and following her toxic split with Kris Humphries.

HAMMER: That could be a very good mood. And look, I don`t want to sound cynical here. I`m sure Kim is honestly concerned about helping the Haitian people in their efforts to rebuild. Who isn`t?

But I do have to wonder how much of this is sort of an effort to save the Kardashian brand, no?

TURNER: Yes. You know, that`s a good question, because no doubt that the brand has taken a hit in the last few months. I would like to think that this is really a cause that she cares about.

But is there a concerted effort to show that she`s not the Bentley-driving, $75,000 earring wearing person? Then, yes, I think that that`s probably it.

HAMMER: We will see. All right, Nischelle, thanks a lot. Moving on, talk about a new image. Look at this. Put it up. No, not a head shot for a Hollywood casting call. A brand-new mug shot. The story behind the most beautiful mug shot ever next.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: OK. You have to take a look at this. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is calling this the world`s happiest mug shot. Can you put this up, please?

You`re looking at reality star Kasey Kahl there smiling away. Yes, it looks like a head shot, you know, the kind that actors use to get acting jobs.

But I can tell you the cops snapped this picture after Kasey was booked for getting drunk and rowdy at a bar in California.

Now, this is just the latest bad news for the former "Bachelorette" and "Bachelor Pad" star. Kasey and his girlfriend, Vienna Girardi, split up a couple months ago.

But hey, at least Kasey has got to be possibly the best-looking mug shot of all time. I mean, even the cops who processed this thing are reportedly calling it the prettiest mug shot they`ve ever seen. Aren`t you supposed to get drunk and rowdy at a bar?

That`s it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. `m A.J. Hammer. You can catch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT weeknights at 11:00 Eastern and Pacific here on HLN.

Stay right here for "DR. DREW," next. Tonight, the brand-new childhood obesity ads that had parents all fired-up. "DR. DREW" starts right now on HLN.
