THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.
A.J. HAMMER, HOST: Tonight, up close and personal with Giuliana and Bill Rancic. They`ve just gone from baby blues to baby bonanza. Giuliana and Bill are having a baby boy and they are sharing all of the secrets of their incredible news right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT
(MUSIC)
Hello, I`m A.J. Hammer. An outpouring of support for Jack Osbourne. He has just revealed that he is battling multiple sclerosis. And I`ve got to tell you his announcement is sparking big reaction from coast to coast.
But first tonight, we are up close and personal with reality stars, Bill and Giuliana Rancic. Now, they have shared their amazing life journey with all of us on the reality show, from Giuliana`s battle with breast cancer to double mastectomy to their struggle with infertility.
And now, they`ve got amazing news - they`re having a baby using a surrogate. And we have just learned it is a boy and we are all very excited about that.
Joining me from New York tonight, across the country, Bill and Giuliana Rancic. First of all, guys, I am truly over the moon for you. Congratulations.
BILL RANCIC, REALITY TV STAR: Thank you.
GIULIANA RANCIC, REALITY TV STAR: Thank you, A.J. We appreciate it. It`s been pretty crazy so we are happy to finally have good news.
HAMMER: Yes, it is very exciting news. And Giuliana, I know from watching your reality show, "Giuliana and Bill," you have been a little baby- challenged at times when you`re with your sister`s kids. So are you ready for a little baby boy? I mean, come on.
G. RANCIC: I thought when you were saying baby challenged, you`re going to bring up IVF, which I can handle. But yes, you`re right. I am a pretty awful babysitter, not so good at changing diapers.
So yes, but I am hoping, what they say is true that when it is your own baby, everything changes, so I am really hoping that maternal instinct kicks in.
B. RANCIC: We`re enrolling her in some classes though, A.J., just as a precautionary measure.
G. RANCIC: He is taking them, too.
B. RANCIC: Of course.
HAMMER: Yes. I would do that. I think that`s a good idea. But it is so true. I will never forget having been there for the birth of my niece and nephew and some of my friends` kids.
You know, they`re so afraid and fearful that they`re going to do something wrong or break something. But the truth is, you know, people have been having babies for - I would say a few years.
B. RANCIC: Yes.
G. RANCIC: That is true.
HAMMER: Bill, I`ve got to know though, have you gotten any fatherhood secrets from any of the star dads you know? Because you know quite a few.
B. RANCIC: Yes, you know, I think people are just, you know, obviously encouraging us in every way they can and they`re happy for us. And people just say, you know, let kids be kids, you know.
I think that`s the problem in this day and age. So many parents try to always be there to pick the kid up as they grow. And you know, kids need to make mistakes along the way.
You can`t be one of these crazy parents who never lets them, you know, skin their knee because then they wind up being adults and can`t cope in the real world.
G. RANCIC: Yes.
B. RANCIC: That`s some of the best advice I have ever gotten. It is OK to make mistakes. It`s OK to fail. But you know, you always have to encourage your kids to try everything.
HAMMER: From what I understand, and I don`t understand much, there is no perfect way of handling it all. But certainly, you have had a long and rough road to becoming a mom, Giuliana, a lot of challenges along the way.
So how are you feeling now since your double mastectomy and breast cancer treatment? How is your health? Everybody is interested.
G. RANCIC: Yes, you know, everything is great because I was lucky enough to find it early, but it was scary. I mean, I`ve got to be honest, A.J. When I did the double mastectomy, I did it to avoid any treatment afterwards as in chemotherapy or Tamoxifen, all the treatment that comes after - you know, if you don`t do the surgery, the treatment that can come.
When I did the surgery, we got the pathology back and it was a little worse than they had thought. And so thank God, thank God we did the surgery. But at the same time, you know, I did have to go on medication.
So you know, I am on medication for five years. When you hear you are going on medication for five years, that`s a long time.
HAMMER: Yes.
B. RANCIC: But it beats the alternative.
G. RANCIC: Absolutely.
B. RANCIC: Take it with a smile.
G. RANCIC: I am good. I mean, I feel great. That`s the thing is I never really had a - you know, a bad day or sick day because I caught - knock on wood, because I caught it early. And that is the most important message. If you can just catch it early, you will be OK.
HAMMER: And here`s the thing. I mean, here we are talking about it right now. I know there are people watching you this very moment relating to your experiences. And you have made such a difference in so many people`s lives by being candid about the experiences.
Well, yesterday, as we know, the world learned the shocking news of Jack Osbourne`s multiple sclerosis diagnosis. His mom, Sharon, completely broke down on her show, "The Talk," trying to talk about it. Let`s watch this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SHARON OSBOURNE, CO-HOST, "THE TALK": Jack will be here Wednesday to talk about his diagnosis. But he is great. He is doing really, really good. And I want to thank everyone for all of their texts and goodwill and (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
JULIE CHEN, CO-HOST, "THE TALK": So Jack Osbourne, we all know, he is an amazing guy. He`s very courageous. He has announced in "People" magazine that he has multiple sclerosis. And this is probably the first time a lot of you are hearing it.
HAMMER: So, so tough. Hard not to feel for the whole family. Giuliana, I know you have gotten close with Kelly Osbourne over the years working with her on "Fashion Police" on E, what was your reaction to the news and Jack`s decision to share something personal about his health with the world like you did?
G. RANCIC: I was incredibly shocked about the news. I mean, he just had a baby not that long ago, a couple of months ago. I remember Kelly left the set of "Fashion Police" early to be sure she was in that delivery room because she is so close to her brother and her family.
They`re such a tight-knit family as we all know. So when I heard it, all I could think about was, you know, obviously, Jack, their family, because they`re so close.
Sharon, actually, was just on our set last week watching Kelly tape. She had this big smile on her face the whole time. So it broke my heart because I know how close they are.
B. RANCIC: And we`re keeping them in our prayers. And you know, certainly, the power of prayer does work miracles.
G. RANCIC: It worked for us.
B. RANCIC: And it worked for us. We encourage everyone to pray for the Osbourne family.
G. RANCIC: I will say something, A.J. You brought up, what do you think about him going public? He had every right in the world, like I did, like everyone does, to keep it private.
And the fact that he did go public to help people, to bring awareness to this - I mean, that`s the best part of being in Hollywood, if you will, the fact that you can use your job or whatever, you know, to help people.
B. RANCIC: For good and not evil.
G. RANCIC: Yes. I`m so proud of him.
B. RANCIC: Yes.
HAMMER: And the Osbournes are such fighters. We all know that so well. But speaking of helping people, I want to talk about PDA with you guys. You are ale Hollywood couple people look up to.
You are still so in love. You still act like newlyweds. I love seeing you guys together. I`m sorry we are not all in the same room this time.
But now, you want other couples out there to be as happy as you are today. So, please tell me about this National PDA Day.
B. RANCIC: Yes we have partnered with our friends at Nivea. And tomorrow is the first annual National PDA Day. And we are celebrating with a big party here in New York City.
We are going to have 11 different celebrations going on through the country and then we`re going to finish up tomorrow night in Los Angeles at the grove with a concert from Neo.
G. RANCIC: A.J., you should come.
B. RANCIC: Yes. Come to the concert. It`s going to be great.
G. RANCIC: It`s actually going to be really fun. And we are just encouraging everyone to put down their cell phones for the day, stop E- mailing, texting and actually touch someone else or hug someone say, "I love you," not on text. I heart you.
And, it`s just about bringing that back. Bill and I are all about PDA. We`re so connected like that. We`re always holding hands.
B. RANCIC: Within reason, A.J., you know, like, I don`t need - you see some people and they`re just a little too aggressive with the PDA.
HAMMER: I don`t need to see that.
B. RANCIC: I don`t need to see tongues.
HAMMER: It`s nice that human contact can actually still exist in this technological age. Bill and Giuliana Rancic, it`s so great to see you. Congratulations again on having a baby boy. Can`t wait.
B. RANCIC: Thanks, A.J.
G. RANCIC: Maybe we`ll name him after you.
B. RANCIC: A.J. Rancic.
G. RANCIC: Oh, it`s actually good.
HAMMER: It`s right there. Sounds magical. Thanks, guys. We move on now to LaBoeuf in the buff. The "Transformers" megastar, Shia LaBoeuf, revealing all in his brand-new music video. SHOWBIZ dares to ask, is the boy next door turning into Hollywood`s hottest hunk?
Plus, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT all over the Daytime Emmys. Tonight, we have a soap legend in the house. Three-time Emmy nominee, Deidre Hall right here taking us inside her three epic decades on "Days of our Lives." It`s a must-see SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.
And remember to join us for the 39th Annual Daytime Emmys, live on HLN, Saturday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. You don`t want to miss the excitement.
You`ve got to watch what great Joan Rivers just told us about winning her Daytime Emmy in 1990.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JOAN RIVERS, COMEDIENNE: The people in the business are voting for you, so you really are getting recognition from your peers and they know the work that goes into it. I always - I still have - the one award that I keep out is my Emmy in my office. Only award I keep out.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: The Biebs goes unplugged. That`s right. Justin Bieber apparently blew out a portion of the power grid at a private show he was playing at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York.
But you know, being the true pro that the Biebs is, he decided that the show must go on, and he performed this acoustic version of "Boyfriend" with the crowd. Watch this.
(SINGING)
And that is the power of Bieber right there. Coming up next, we have the power of daytime legend, Heather Tom of the "Bold and the Beautiful."
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Tonight, daytime darling, Heather Thom, has been acting on soaps since she was 15 years old. And that was just the start of an amazing career in daytime, bringing her three Emmy Awards and millions of adoring fans.
Check out Heather in action as Kate Logan on "The Bold and the Beautiful."
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
HEATHER TOM, ACTRESS: How long - how long have you been kissing her with the same mouth that you kiss me? How long have you been touching her with the same hands that you touch me? Oh, my god, I`m going to be sick! Oh.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Yes! It is scenes just like that which earned Heather Tom another Daytime Emmy nomination, this time for outstanding lead actress.
Joining me in Hollywood for a SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview, the great Heather Tom. It`s nice to see you.
TOM: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) great. Nice to see you.
HAMMER: The great Heather Tom - well, yes. Look at this Heather - may I run down your impressive list of Emmy credentials? Nominated for 15. You`ve won three. That is a huge accomplishment. There are not a lot of multiple wins.
TOM: But my (UNINTELLIGIBLE) not so great.
HAMMER: But still, three awards. If you win the Emmy this year, you will become the first performer ever to win Emmys in three different acting categories, because you won for young actress and supporting, and this would be lead.
When you first walked on to a soap set, and you were 15 years old, is any of this what you imagined that all of these years later you would be doing this and have so many accolades?
TOM: No. I had no idea. At 15, I signed a three-year deal and that just seemed like an eternity. And I remember there was that - Lauralee Bell was on the show at the time. She just signed a 12-year.
And I was like, "Twelve years! That is so long." And now, here I am 22 years later, and the young ones come on. And I`m like, "You just wait. You are going to be here forever."
HAMMER: Listen here, missy. But it is a great life and it really has given you a great life.
TOM: I`m so grateful for it.
HAMMER: And you are glowing. And we have been joking about the fact that we met some dozens years ago and you had a big smile on your face then. It`s nice to see you still have the smile.
I want to bring up some footage. If we can, Charles, roll this in from "Y and R," the "Young and the Restless," Victor Newman`s daughter, Victoria.
And you know, we`re looking at how long you are here. We often hear and talk about how difficult the transition is for child stars into adult roles.
In the soap world, it seems to be different and so many soap stars handle it more gracefully. What was it like for you making the transition?
TOM: Well, it is interesting, because I did start so young. And you know, the show was very cognizant of that. They really treated me with kid gloves though we were attacking a lot of very adult issues.
You know, Victoria, my character - she lost her virginity before I did. You know basically, Scott Reeves who I -
HAMMER: You should research it in a different way, I know. Yes.
TOM: And Scott Reeves who I was playing opposite in those scenes - I mean, that was pretty much my first kiss.
HAMMER: Whoa.
TOM: So it`s a very - yes, I was a late bloomer, I suppose. But -
HAMMER: Did it confuse you?
TOM: It didn`t confuse me, but I felt like we did have a lot of - I was a very mature kid. But I did feel like I grew up very quickly.
But they were very, very conscientious about keeping the set comfortable for me. And it is interesting because you play this character where you see the good and the bad and the ugly and the beautiful in everything.
It kind of takes on a life of its own. And so, as I grew up, the character grew up as well. So the transition I think is a little easier. Although when I turned 18, the love scenes definitely got a little hot and heavier.
HAMMER: OK. I can imagine why. I don`t know why you guys don`t all have massive split personalities. But Heather, great to see you. Congratulations on your nomination.
TOM: Thank you.
HAMMER: Good luck this weekend.
TOM: Thank you so much.
HAMMER: And you can join us for the 39th Annual Daytime Emmys, live on HLN, Saturday, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. I`m going to be looking for the newly pregnant Heather Tom on the red carpet with all of your favorite daytime stars.
We`re doing a special edition of SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Eastern here on HLN. I would love for you to join me in the middle of the action. To do that, you`ve got to enter the HLN red carpet sweepstakes at HLNTV.com/DaytimeEmmySweeps.

Moving on now to stars uncovered, literally. Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT reveals the Ryan Gosling lost tapes.
(MUSIC)

I can tell you the Daytime Emmys will be the perfect award show. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is going to be center stage at 39th Annual Daytime Emmys.
Best supporting actor nominee Sean Blakemore tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT about the excitement at his house on the morning he found out he was nominated for his role on "General Hospital."
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SEAN BLAKEMORE, ACTOR: I got the phone call, and my wife overheard the phone conversation. She started jumping on the bed and excited. She was more excited than me. For me, it was kind of a surreal moment. And it is just all settling in.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MIKE TYSON, FORMER BOXING CHAMPION: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) already feeling pretty low. (UNINTELLIGIBLE)(EXPLETIVE DELETED) got busted. I didn`t know what to say. I didn`t listen to most people in my life.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: That is Mike Tyson getting ready for a surprisingly candid one-man show. He performed it for just a few nights this past spring in Las Vegas and he was totally unfiltered telling all about his troubled past.
Well, Iron Mike is now bringing his one-man show, "Mike Tyson`s Undisputed Truth" to Broadway. And get this, Spike Lee is going to direct Tyson`s show about his personal highs and lows.
Mike totally shocked the crowds in Vegas with his willingness to be completely open about his past. We`re hoping he is going to do the same on Broadway. First time for Spike Lee on Broadway, too.
And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Nischelle Turner went one-on-one with Tyson. Nischelle got to speak with Mike before the Vegas show. Mike was on the "Today" show this morning. What kind of things did he reveal about what we`re going to see now on Broadway?
NISCHELLE TURNER, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT CORRESPONDENT: Well, you never know what Mike is going to say right, A.J. But Mike Tyson and Spike Lee are promising that he is going to be just as raw, just as revealing as he was on Broadway as he was in Vegas. Here is what they`re saying about it.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
TYSON: I`m pretty naked there and bare, so I am just going to get some (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Not literally. Not literally. Oh, darn. That would have sold some tickets.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: We want to sell some tickets. You will not be really naked on stage.
TYSON: Everybody will be disappointed. Trust me. I`m old. I`m old now, baby.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
TURNER: OK. So he is not revealing everything. But having seen the Vegas show, I can tell you that there will be some jaw-dropping stories about his wild days before he turned his life around. Look what he was willing to expose on national TV.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
TYSON: I threw up the white flag. There were too many - too many prison cells, too many jails, too many lawsuits, too many bankruptcies, too many women, too many venereal diseases, too many everything.
I got tired, I really got tired of - you know, like every time I came back from a trip, I had to sleep with (UNINTELLIGIBLE). I am going to live a different lifestyle.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Hey, wait a minute. Wait a minute.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
TURNER: His prostitute girlfriend. I think he said he was a prostitute hunter, A.J. Buckle up. We are in for a wild ride on Broadway.
HAMMER: Spike Lee at the helm, doing that. But I love that Mike is being very honest. He said, "I am doing this, I need to make a buck. I need to get out of debt. Things are tough."
TURNER: Absolutely. You never know what will come out of his mouth and that`s what makes a one-man show really good.
HAMMER: All right. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Nischelle Turner. Thanks, Nischelle. Well, now, the SHOWBIZ lineup at the bottom of the hour on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
We are talking to the biggest daytime TV stars this week as we get ready for the 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
Tonight, I am so excited for a true soap opera legend who will tell all about what it is like to spend more than three decades in the business. There she is. "Days of our Lives" star, Deidre Hall right here for an incredibly personal SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

HAMMER: Big news breaking to night on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT - Shia in the buff. Tonight, why "Transformers" star, Shia LaBoeuf is going full frontal in a brand-new music video. Is he trying to transform into a sex symbol? What`s really behind Shia in the buff?
Deidre and dazed. Tonight, the inside story behind the daytime Emmy- nominated hit soap, "Days of Our Lives" from one of its most legendary actresses.
Plus, what`s behind the success of "Days"? Dr. Marlena Evans herself, Deidre Hall, right here to tell all in a must-see Daytime Emmys SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview.
ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.
(MUSIC)
HAMMER: Welcome back, to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Thank you for watching. Tonight, paging Dr. Evans. Daytime TV icon, Deidre Hall, has been entertaining soap fans as the beloved heroine, Dr. Marlena Evans on "Days of Our Lives" since 1976.
And this year, "Days" nominated for a whopping 15 Emmys. Deidre has been nominated for three Emmys over her extraordinary career.
And she certainly has had an amazing ride along the way. I mean, think about it. Her character possessed by the devil. She has fallen from a 30- story window and she was diagnosed with hysterical amnesia.
And did I mention how many times she has been kidnapped? Deidre is also the author of this fantastic brand-new book called "How Does She Do It?"
So how does she do it? The great Deidre Hall joins me for the SHOWBIZ newsmaker interview. It`s great to have you here.
DEIDRE HALL, ACTRESS: Good gosh, you want me to follow that?
HAMMER: I do.
HALL: Pull the car around. I`ll be right there. He said it all.
HAMMER: Here`s what I want to know. I didn`t mention how many times you have been kidnapped. Do you know how many times your character was kidnapped on the show?
HALL: I can`t tell you how many times I have been married on the show. Forget kidnapping. That`s a weekly event.
HAMMER: Unbelievable. I am also trying to do the math in my head that you have been at this for so long and you are clearly 35 years old.
HALL: Clearly.
HAMMER: I mean, I`m just looking at you and I can`t believe it.
HALL: Read the book. Read the book. It`s been a long time. It`s been on about 35 years, I think.
HAMMER: And I have to imagine, particularly having been with the show so long, it is particularly gratifying that it is so heavily nominated this year for the Daytime Emmy Awards?
HALL: This is such an important year for us. It is enormous. You have no idea, unless you have been following us for years and years and years, how difficult it is to get nominations. And to get the boatload we got is just thrilling.
HAMMER: And I think it`s important also for a show to be validated in daytime, particularly given the state of daytime and how things have really shifted and changed over the years. It`s nice to know there is so much support out there I`m sure.
HALL: You like me. You really like me.
HAMMER: Yes.
HALL: That`s how it feels.
HAMMER: Good. Well, so great to see you in person, one-half of the world famous "Jorlena(ph)" as you are known. You`re a super-couple on the show. It is known to your fans.
Back in 2009, your character was dropped because of some budget cuts. But they brought you back and they brought back your long-time love interest, John Black.
HALL: Drake Hogestyn.
HAMMER: Shall we watch you two in action a little bit?
HALL: You are the boss.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
HALL: Strawberries and whipped cream. Wow. How many times have we actually done this? I don`t know. It`s like the first time, John. Do you remember the first time?
DRAKE HOGESTYN, ACTOR: Of course, I remember the first time. The problem is we haven`t been together in so long I don`t remember the last time. And I have missed being with you so much.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: I mean, I just feel the love.
HALL: You can`t go wrong. Can`t go wrong.
HAMMER: How do you guys keep that love or that action between the two of you so fresh after so many years? Because the fans just love you guys so much.
HALL: It`s the heat. Thank you for saying that. And we do get a nice response to those scenes. It really is, I think, seeing each scene as we`re doing it for the first time, as though we are because there is just so much we are allowed to do in daytime.
But liking each other, loving each other, working together - he is my safety net. Anything I want to try, he is there to catch me. Same with him. So it is spontaneous.
HAMMER: And this played out for the fans over so much time and they continue to love you guys as a couple so much. Why do you think that is?
HALL: You know, I think we are - I think we are sort of solidifying base for the show. We have been together for so many years. Nothing will tear us apart.
We have been through all kinds of crises and things that have threatened to tear us apart, and they haven`t. It`s a fantasy. It`s a marital fantasy.
HAMMER: We were having a little laugh as we got started about some of the crazy things your character has been through, so many storylines over so many years.
Is there one in particular that has been sort of the wackiest or most difficult for you to even keep straight as to, wait a sec, what really happened there?
HALL: You know the few times I have gotten a chance to break out of Marlena character have been very exciting. I did a possession storyline for about a year-and-a-half where I was possessed by the devil.
And Marlena is all loving, all trusting, all forgiving. And all of a sudden, I could be none of that. I could be really just scary. That was fun. And then I killed I think eight people a few years after that. And that was kind of fun, too.
HAMMER: How much fun could that be, if it`s not for real anyway? And I know people are at home right now watching you and looking at you, and saying, "How does she do it?"
And that`s what you write about in your new book. Because it`s not all with lighting and makeup. I mean, you really - you look amazing, and I`m not saying that because I have to say it or somebody told me to say it. How do you do it?
HALL: Wow, thank you for asking me.
HAMMER: What`s the secret? Sum up. You have a moment.
HALL: The book was called - the working title was "Does This Mascara Make My Ass Look Big?" It`s a very funny irreverent look at what we know in show business. After 35 years of doing it, what have I learned?
And it`s got things that most people don`t talk about. It`s in the book.
HAMMER: It`s all in there.
HALL: Yes, I should tell you - because nobody else knows this yet - this weekend, Lynn and I, my co-author, recorded the book on tape.
HAMMER: Fantastic.
HALL: And we also recorded ring tones on tape that hopelessly irreverent.
HAMMER: I`m going to download mine as soon as we are done here. It`s great to see you here, Deidre.
HALL: DeidreHall.com.
HAMMER: Best of luck for your show this weekend at the Daytime Emmy Awards. It`s a pleasure having you here. This is the new book. It is called "How Does She Do It?" It`s on Amazon.com.
HALL: And DeidreHall.com.
HAMMER: And DeidreHall.com. This Saturday`s Daytime Emmy will be a big night for your favorite soaps, of course, but also for the biggest judges on TV.
"Judge Joe Brown" is nominated for outstanding legal courtroom program. And after 14 years on the air, the verdict is, he certainly deserves it. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Nischelle Turner steps up to Judge Brown`s bench to find out the real secrets behind his Emmy-nominated success.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
JUDGE JOSEPH BROWN, HOST, "JUDGE JOE BROWN": By the way, you haven`t paid the court cost.
TURNER (voice-over): Justice served -
BROWN: She`s not listed.
TURNER: With gumption.
BROWN: $512 in the cost.
TURNER: Judge Joe Brown, a trailblazing attorney turned TV judge who is now up for a Daytime Emmy.
BROWN: You pour sugar in his tank, slash the tires.
I`ve got an interesting resume. Have you seen it?
TURNER (on camera): No, I haven`t, but I am learning.
BROWN: I became the first black prosecutor in the history of City of Memphis. Then I became the public defender. I was the boss.
TURNER (voice-over): He moved from civic arena to the TV studio. And "Judge Joe Brown" launched as a syndicated show in 1998, just as a new wave of court programs hit the air.
(on camera) I have always thought why do people want to come air their dirty laundry?
BROWN: Because they think they`re in the right even though they`re badly in the wrong.
TURNER (voice-over): Judge Brown believes what sets him apart is a pretty good understanding of the people who wind up in front of his bench.
BROWN: I think I have actually handled about 85,000 individual people. So you can get some idea of human nature. And I will tell you something, it`s not what it used to be.
What`s the matter with you?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Nothing is the matter with me. I am human.
BROWN: No, that is not human. That`s called cowardice.
TURNER: For past 15 years, the judge has had the final say on clashes between best friends, parents suing their own kids, and at least one pit bull case per week. He explains that one with his executive producer.
BROWN: People are like the dogs or dogs are like the people. We get pit bull people. Crazy.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Every pit bull owner we have ever had in here has said exactly the same thing. They have defended their dog - they have defended their dog to the end. My dog isn`t violent, right, judge? How come your dog just ate that other - loves everybody.
TURNER: If you ever wondered whether his TV rulings are binding, his honor wants to make one thing clear.
(on camera) When you make a ruling then it is not a final judgment. It is a ruling -
BROWN: It is final.
TURNER: It`s final?
BROWN: Yes.
TURNER (voice-over): And this judge doesn`t just follow the book according to his court reporter.
(on camera) We see the judges on a lot of court shows. What sets this show?
JEAN ZELASKO, COURT REPORTER, "JUDGE JOE BROWN": Well, first and foremost, he is not just up there taking people apart and holding them accountable just for television`s sake. He really cares.
TURNER (voice-over): But while he isn`t afraid to lay down the law -
BROWN: I gave people an opportunity to get right. And if they`ve didn`t, then I`ll not just smack them. I`ll really come down on them hard.
TURNER: He still tries to have a creative approach to justice.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Judge Joe Brown led the notion of creative sentencing in this country. So for example, he allowed the victims of burglary to go into the burglar`s home and take whatever they wanted.
TURNER: I like that.
BROWN: That`s so bad.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Up to the value.
TURNER (voice-over): A style he hopes pays off with an Emmy.
BROWN: $2,803 and your costs.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(MUSIC)
HAMMER: Really? I mean, when you look at those moves, future Oscar nominee, Ryan Gosling, singing, dancing in hammer pants. Can you believe that?
Tonight, stars uncovered, starting with Shia LaBoeuf, well in the buff. It`s the "Transformers" hero like you have never seen him before, baring all in a steamy new music video. Who knew Shia was so artistic.
Let me bring back Bill and Giuliana Rancic, stars of the hit Style Network reality series, "Giuliana and Bill." So Shia is the recognizable star in the video, at least parts of him. It is for the Icelandic indy group, Sigur Ros.
The makers of the video say this video is supposed to show a man and a woman locked in a never-ending cycle of addiction and desire.
Now, fans, of course, know Shia as a young star who turned into a big screen action hero. This is a side of Shia that we haven`t seen, literally.
Bill, what do you think? Is this part of Shia`s master game plan to transform into some kind of an onscreen sex symbol, or is he just getting all artsy on us?
B. RANCIC: I mean, I think it is definitely a little bit artsy. We were kind of talking about that before. But I mean, the guy is in good shape. You know, if you`ve got it, flaunt it.
So I guess - I personally wouldn`t be doing that, but you know, maybe a guy like you, A.J., could pull that off?
B. RANCIC: A.J., first -
HAMMER: Well, I don`t know about that.
G. RANCIC: You should ask the woman that question. There is nothing sexy about that. I`m sorry. I don`t know. This whole thing is so odd to me.
I thought he was sexier with his clothes on and not doing this weird artsy thing. I don`t get this. You know, this was actually shocking to me because I was like, are you sure it`s Shia? Because he is so private, you know.
He is such a private guy. He is actually very private. And you know, now, he is showing his private parts. It makes absolutely no sense to me.
B. RANCIC: Shia in the buff.
HAMMER: But let me ask you this, Giuliana, because you know it is always the women. And yes, we are sure it is Shia. It`s always the women who are unclothed on the big screen.
You don`t get to see the full frontal all that often with men, let`s face it. Do you find this a liberating moment for women to have the tables turned regardless of what you may personally think of Shia`s appearance?
G. RANCIC: I think there is a reason we don`t see men full frontal, if you know what I am getting at.
B. RANCIC: Not nearly as attractive. I mean, women, are like sculpted from beautiful, you know, marble.
(CROSS TALK)
G. RANCIC: Yes. It`s not as beautiful.
HAMMER: Let`s get it out of our heads the and rewind the block from Shia`s new music video to a very young, talented Ryan Gosling -
B. RANCIC: There we go.
HAMMER: Blowing the audience away at a talent show. He was nine years old. So many oohs and ahs in the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom today when we showed this video.
The same guy, of course, who broke up a street fight in New York, saved a woman from being hit by a cab. Giuliana, set the record straight once and for all, separate from your husband, is Ryan Gosling now officially the world`s perfect guy?
G. RANCIC: You know, I`ve got to say, separate from my husband, it used to be George Clooney. And now, I think it`s got to be Ryan Gosling.
And you`re right. He breaks up fights in the streets. He rescues animals. He acts. He`s like - he can do, like, romantic comedies. He can be like a tough guy. I mean, there`s nothing this guy can`t do. Now, he can do Roger Rabbit, too.
B. RANCIC: I like him. I think he is cool.
HAMMER: I am just going to bow out. I`ve got to move on from Ryan Gosling belting out tunes to singing superstar, LeAnn Rimes who tweeted a rather bizarre photo of her husband Eddie Cibrian`s birthday cake to her thousands of Twitter followers, leaving some people thinking what was he thinking. Bill and Giuliana, you`ve got to see this cake.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Tonight, cute or creepy? LeAnn Rimes has once again set the Twitterverse on fire, this time with a picture of a birthday cake. Look at this thing. It was her gift to her husband, Eddie Cibrian, to help celebrate his 39th birthday.
LeAnn loved it, but some critics are saying this is pretty creepy.
Let me bring back Bill and Giuliana Rancic with me from New York tonight.
Let`s look at the cake, guys. Along with the cake and tweet of the cake, LeAnn also said Eddie`s favorite thing is birthday cake.
And tonight, you have some people criticizing LeAnn, because, I mean, look at this, the style of cake, not an everyday cake.
Two adult figures in bed on top of the cake along with figures of children standing nearby on the side of the cake. Bill what do you think? Does the cake cross the line? Enjoy the cake, just don`t show it.
B. RANCIC: Here is my theory. At least she put effort in. For my birthday I got an iPod Nano, right? I open it up on the back. It`s inscribed, "Happy holidays from E." She re-gifted an iPod Nano for my birthday present
G. RANCIC: But he wanted it. You are complaining I spend too much money. But here`s the thing. And I know LeAnn and I know that she and Eddie are crazy, crazy in love.
And so this cake this cake was to represent their favorite things. I don`t know. Listen, I agree. She put the effort into it. I think -
HAMMER: Her favorite things, being her bed and having children watching, really?
G. RANCIC: No, the kids are not watching.
HAMMER: And that`s fine. They`re watching.
G. RANCIC: They`re kind of off to the side. They`re on another level.
HAMMER: Put up the cake again, Charles. I mean, look at what is going on here. I don`t know. Don`t you think - but as a very public couple yourselves, don`t you think there is a limit to what you want to put out there? Do you think this is sort of a mis-tweet, an overshare on her part, Giuliana?
G. RANCIC: You know, honestly, I don`t think so. She is very open about her relationship with Eddie. A lot of people have obviously had a lot to say about their relationship.
But they just really are madly in love. She loves to share everything with her fans. And you`ve got to appreciate that. You know, at least she is down to earth and real and not trying to be something she is not.
She is sharing everything with the people who buy her albums, so good for her.
HAMMER: Good for her, I guess. And I guess really, guys what this proves after all is you can have your cake and tweet it too.
G. RANCIC: And tweet it, too.
HAMMER: Thank you and good night.
B. RANCIC: Thanks, A.J.
HAMMER: Bill and Giuliana Rancic, great to see you, guys. Thank you so much. So here is my question - is Arsenio Hall about to bring the dog pound back to late night?
Why not? He is Donald Trump`s new "Celebrity Apprentice." I am pretty sure he hasn`t lost his late night touch. It is Arsenio after all. I`ve got Arsenio Hall`s big news, straight ahead.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Well, it`s a case of he said/he said after "Rock of Ages" star, Alec Baldwin, allegedly punches a photographer in New York City today.
Baldwin and his fiancee were spotted walking out of City Hall. And according to the photographer, Baldwin hit him in the chin.
Well, Baldwin`s rep tells a different story to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, saying, quote, "There were no punches thrown and any subsequent physical contact was simply Alec protecting himself." The photographer filed an assault report with the New York City Police.
Sugarland`s Jennifer Nettle`s big baby news is on. Also Steve Carell breaks big news to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT about his future on the small screen. And is Arsenio Hall about to bring back the dog pound to late night TV? All that is making big news in "The Buzz Today."
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
Arsenio on fire. On the heels of his "Celebrity Apprentice" win, Arsenio Hall about to make a major television comeback. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT just confirmed that Arsenio will be making a return to late-night TV with CBS.
Hall last hosted the Emmy Award-winning "Arsenio Hall Show" two decades ago. Arsenio`s show, currently in development, is set to air in the fall 2013.
Steve Carell back on TV? While promoting his upcoming film, "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World," Steve Carell revealed to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that coming back to the small screen is always a possibility. The former "Office" star tells us he has no reservations about returning to TV.
STEVE CARELL, ACTOR: I haven`t had any - there is no pretense about TV versus film. I think it`s all the same medium, you know. And there is - fantastic opportunity on television to tell stories and to develop great characters.
So, no. I think it is just a matter of - I would want to do things that are potentially going to be good, satisfying work.
HAMMER: Baby on board, Jennifer Nettles has plenty to sing about. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has just learned that the Sugarland singer is pregnant. This will be the first child the country singer and her husband, who tied the knot last November. A rep for Jennifer tells us the couple are thrilled beyond belief.
