Aired October 23, 2012 - 23:00 ET
THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.
A.J. HAMMER, HOST: Tonight in the SHOWBIZ Countdown, SHOWBIZ News Breakers. The overweight college student who posted a picture of herself in a bikini online to shut up critics of overweight people, speaks out today for the very first time.
And wait until you hear what "Twilight`s" Robert Pattison just revealed about what really makes him cry. I`m here to tell you: it`s not his girlfriend Kristen Stewart is cheating, oh, no. What News Breaker will top our countdown?
Hello and thank you for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer with two big SHOWBIZ Countdowns tonight, including the top stories breaking today about love and heartbreak.
Brand-new revelations today about which of Taylor Swift`s exes she may really be singing about on her new album.
And startling news that Kanye West may be about to put a ring on it. Are he and Kim Kardashian about to get engaged, really? Which story will be No. 1? The big reveal is coming up.
We`ll begin with our first SHOWBIZ Countdown of the night. It is today`s top three SHOWBIZ News Breaker.
And kicking it off at No. 3, I`d like to you take a look at this. The overweight college student who has become an overnight celebrity after posting this picture of herself on her Tumblr page, as you see, wearing a bikini with the message, "This is my body. If you don`t like it, that`s your problem. Deal with it."
Her name is Stella Boonshot, and this morning on "The Today Show," she explained why she did it.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
STELLA BOONSHOT, POSTED PICTURE OF HERSELF IN BIKINI: The way I saw it was that, you know, every single day I`m bombarded, especially living in New York City, with images of naked women or half-naked women. And they all look the same, and they all have the same kind of body type. And somehow that`s OK, but you know, God forbid we put someone like me, who`s a size 12, on the billboard.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Right? And now Stella is hearing this. Applause. A huge round of applause from coast to coast.
As of late today, more than 80,000 people had shared her photo from her Tumblr page. It`s been viewed nearly 2.5 million times on Facebook. That is amazing.
I want to bring in Egypt Sherrod. Egypt is the host of HGTV`S his series, "Property Virgins." Also, host on B 103 Radio in Atlanta, with me tonight from Hollywood, entertainment host Holland Reed.
So guys, when most women in college are trying to hide their imperfections, you have Stella here, who actually had this brave moment. She flaunted her flaws.
Egypt, how great is it that she nearly took it all off, posted this picture and basically told people, bring it on?
EGYPT SHERROD, HOST, HGTV`S "PROPERTY VIRGINS": You know, we`re always taught as women that unless we look like this, that we`re imperfect. So for this woman to get out -- and really, she is the average size of an American woman. More than 50 percent of Americans are obese. And to me, she looks the average size of a woman that I see on a day to day basis.
So I say "A" to the men; go for it. Let the world know that you are comfortable in your own skin.
HAMMER: Yes, right on. And I should point out something. I just said a moment ago that she revealed her flaws. I meant to say she revealed her perceived flaws, and I think that`s really an important distinction right here.
And in that same brand-new interview this morning on "The Today Show," Stella told host Savannah Guthrie that she was just fed up, and that`s why she did it. Let`s watch her again.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BOONSHOT: There is no way to justify the bullying and the torment I endured as a -- you know, as a child and as a teen. And it took a lot of years of self-searching to understand that, like, this isn`t right. We don`t have the authority to judge other people`s beauty. We don`t have the authority to make, you know, assumptions about other people`s health based on the way they look.
And I finally came to a place where I was really happy with the way I looked. And, you know, I had found on Tumblr there`s a huge body positive, body acceptance movement, and I wanted to, you know, give a message to the bullies who had tormented me and show them that it didn`t work.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: When is everybody going to get that?
So Holland, obviously we`re all sitting here, and we`re cheering Stella on for what she did.
HOLLAND REED, HOST, B 103 RADIO, ATLANTA: Yes.
HAMMER: But I`m guessing, I am sure, unfortunately, you know, there`s still going to be a lot of haters out there.
REED: You know what?
HAMMER: I do hope that her bravery makes a difference, but do you think it will?
REED: I don`t think it will. I learned a new word this week. It`s called ballsery, and she`s got it. And I give her kudos.
But you know what? When it comes down to it, people are still going to point and look and say that`s wrong, that`s fat. It doesn`t make it right, but it`s still going to happen. I mean, I will never put a picture of myself up without Photoshopping. She gets all my applause and all my praise.
Unfortunately, we live in a society where we look at thinner is better, thinner is healthier, even though that might not be true. There`s such a thing as skinny fat. But she did it. She did it for the reasons why she did it, and that is why she deserves the praise that she`s getting.
HAMMER: Yes, good for her. And listen, I think every little bit does help to sort of chip away at it all. Let`s just hope we continue down the right path and not go back to the wrong path at all.
REED: Exactly.
HAMMER: Stella certainly shocked everyone with what she did.
Well, Robert Pattinson tonight shocking us with what he just said. This is at No. 2 on the SHOWBIZ Countdown of tonight`s top three SHOWBIZ News Breakers.
Robert Pattinson`s crying confession on a radio show in Australian, as he`s kicking off the promotional tour for "Breaking Dawn: Part 2".
So they posed a question. He asked -- they asked RPattz what really tugs at his heart and makes him cry. You would think immediately he would say it was when he was cheated on by his long-time love Kristen Stewart. Or even he`d cry over the end of the "Twilight" series, that old thing going away. Or even the fact that he reportedly hates the nickname RPattz. But no, it`s this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Do you know how much we love you? We love you so much. I love you more than anything. How do we go on from here? I want you to remember you`re a great dog, Marley. You`re a great dog.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Well, that`s right, "Twilight" fans. It`s the movie "Marley & Me" that opens the teary floodgates for RPattz.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Right.
HAMMER: Let`s now cue the collective sigh of relief in Twihards around the world. Here`s what he said about why the movie moved him.
He said, "I was so surprised, I was like devastated. Literally, I never want to see it again. It was horrible. It was like looking at war footage," adding jokingly, "I can`t take it. I hate people, but I love dogs."
Now listen, I`m going to tell you right now, I`m right there with him, and you can even ask SHOWBIZ TONIGHT producers. I wasn`t looking at the screen when we just played that clip. I can`t take it. I can`t see it.
REED: No, come on.
HAMMER: I don`t like animal violence. But listen, hold on. Egypt, let me go to you on this. I`m sure that Pattinson won dog lovers like myself over everywhere. Do you think maybe he`s setting the stage to confess that he also cried when he learned Kristen Stewart was cheating on him?
SHERROD: Could be, but you know what? Who didn`t cry on "Marley & Me"? But if he had the waterworks like he claimed he had, I`d hate to be on "Titanic."
HAMMER: Yes. Seriously, though, Tweety bBrd gets hit with a tennis racket, I`m crying.
All right. Let`s move now from the superstar shocker to a reality star stunner.
This is No. 1 tonight in our SHOWBIZ Countdown, today`s top News Breakers. HLN`s own Dr. Drew rescues Honey Boo-Boo. Could it be?
Honey Boo-Boo gave a brand-new interview to Dr. Drew, which we`re seeing tonight here on HLN`s "DR. DREW ON CALL." And in this interview, the seven-year-old reality TV sensation reveals she is feeling pressures of life in the spotlight. Let`s watch that together.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DR. DREW PINSKY, HOST, "DR. DREW ON CALL": Let me ask you some questions. I know, everybody always wants to talk to you. Is it -- is it difficult to be on TV?
Is she sleeping? Is there something exciting you`d like to talk about?
JUNE THOMPSON, MOTHER: Alana, come on so we can get this done and go. Get up. Don`t hit.
PINSKY: It`s all right, she`s not hitting me. Do you like being on TV?
J. THOMPSON: Do you like being on TV?
ALANA THOMPSON, REALITY TV STAR: No.
PINSKY: You don`t like it? Tell me how come.
A. THOMPSON: They all come up to me, and I hate it.
PINSKY: You hate it?
J. THOMPSON: Yes, right.
A. THOMPSON: Yes, I do.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: I just -- I think she`s being pretty honest there. You know, we have people out there who are actually slamming Honey Boo-Boo for her behavior, but Holland, she`s only seven years old. I mean, what do you expect from a seven-year-old?
REED: OK. Is it football season? There`s a flag on the play. Honey Boo- Boo needs to go honey, bye-bye. It is time to let this girl go back and get her normal life back. This is out of control. This is the third show I`ve seen her on throw stuff, hit the host -- guest, and pretend to fall asleep and then literally say she does not like the attention. What other signs does this mother need to get her off of television? This is not something that`s going to further in the future, you know, for a temporary discomfort. This is something that`s hindering her right now. She is not happy. Let her go. Let her go.
HAMMER: Dangerous road ahead, as Dr. Drew confirmed to me when I spoke with him about it. Hopefully, they`re going to figure this out, because acting out like that, no good.
Egypt, Holland, thank you both so much.
REED: Thank you.
HAMMER: And tonight we`re also counting down the stories that are breaking today about love and heartbreak if Hollywood, including startling new revelations. Not exactly who tells us what she`s singing about in her famous breakup songs.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
TAYLOR SWIFT, SINGER (singing): We, are never, ever, ever getting back together.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: So we`ll decoding Taylor`s musical disses about her former lovers take the No. 1 spot, in tonight`s SHOWBIZ Love and Heartbreak countdown?
Plus, an absolutely extraordinary SHOWBIZ Flashback. Do you recognize this classical movie theme song?
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
(MUSIC: "THEME FROM E.T.")
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: This is so cool. That is just-discovered footage of Steven Spielberg working out the iconic theme song to "E.T." Tonight SHOWBIZ TONIGHT revealing that remarkable film that has just surfaced. You`ve got to hear this.
This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: And now the big buzz over these hilarious memes from the presidential debate last night.
Here we see Mitt Romney riding horses with a bayonet. Yes, that`s because Romney observed that we have fewer ships in the Navy than we did in 1916. And President Obama shot back rather cleverly, putting our modern military needs into context, saying, "We also don`t have horses and bayonets anymore."
And then, of course, there`s this. Big Bird will work for food meme. It popped up after Romney said he`d cut off funding to PBS if he became president.
If you ask me, who won the debate last night? I`m going with the Internet.
Well, it`s not just the debate memes that are lighting up the Net. There are also some brilliant mash-ups of the debate`s golden moments that getting millions and millions of hits today, and one of the biggest on-line stars right now is the Gregory Brothers. These guys are making video musical mash-ups that are so viral, these things are actually becoming cultural icons instantly.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`S Kareen Wynter takes up inside the world of the Gregory Brothers right now.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Obama. Romney. Ready, set, go.
KAREEN WYNTER, HLN CORRESPONDENT: Big Bird.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE (singing): I love Big Bird.
WYNTER: Then binders.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE (singing): Binders full of women.
WYNTER: And in Boca, we got...
BARACK OBAMA, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets.
WYNTER: Each debate creates its own breakout moments which make the Internet go nuts.
At Viral Popsquat (ph) in Brooklyn...
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: And then we need to get Schieffer lips.
WYNTER: Just hours before Monday night`s debate in Boca, prep was in high gear here for the musicians known as the Gregory Brothers.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: And then Schieffer kind of doing some L`il Wayne-isms.
WYNTER: Michael, Andrew, Evan and his wife Sara are famous for Autotuning the news and mocking politics musically. It`s what they call songifying, and it`s all non-partisan, of course.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Romney and Obama have just both turned out to be really amazing dancers.
WYNTER: Now they`re under the gun, making the final debate topic, foreign policy, funny by first thing Tuesday morning.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We don`t make a habit of staying up overnight, but we felt in this case it was our patriotic duty to respond as quickly as possible to the debates with a songification that the world could really understand.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: We force ourselves to the writing chamber and try to come up with as many rhymes about jobs and foreign policy as we can.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It`s really important for us that jobs rhymes with unemployed slobs.
WYNTER: Their hits on the V.P. and the first two presidential face-offs alone have gone epically viral, viewed more than 7 million times under YouTube channel shmoyoho (ph). Musical mash-ups like these, along with the instant Twitter chatter, hash tags and blogs, have defined this debate season for many who tuned into the talk online, says Eric Martin of Internet community Reddit.com.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The Gregory Brothers doing their take on the debates, you know, people almost look forward to that more than the debates themselves. Bad lip reading is another amazing parody.
WYNTER: Bad Lip-Reading, whose creator remains anonymous, has drawn nearly 6.5 million views with its nonsensical mash-up of the match-up in Denver.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I see a purple idiot, east German with a big, spunky Irish Labradoodle puppy.
WYNTER: And as the candidates wrap the debate, the Internet is lighting up with its latest viral takeaways.
EVAN GREGORY, MUSICIAN: We hope that we can impart a message to those folks coming up and getting their information online that life is better as a musical.
MICHAEL GREGORY, MUSICIAN: There`s probably less of an educational value and more of a bootie-shaking value.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: It certainly makes modern politics much more palatable, doesn`t it? That`s SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter.
Also tonight, an absolutely amazing SHOWBIZ Flashback, the stunning footage of the creative process behind the iconic theme song for "E.T."
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
(MUSIC: "THEME FROM E.T.")
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: I can`t wait to show this to you. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is revealing the lost video of Steven Spielberg hammering out one of the most historic movie themes ever.
Plus, another incredible SHOWBIZ TONIGHT countdown: Love and Heartbreak. Ryan Seacrest reveals that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may have wedding bells in their future. But will Kim and Kanye`s love be strong enough to top our countdown of celebrity Love and Heartbreak?
This is SBT, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Well, tonight it looks like Disney has got a whopper of a controversy on its hands over its very first Latina princess. Her name is Sofia. She`s featured in the upcoming movie, "Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess," will be seen on the Disney Channel, also on Disney Jr.
And while some people are cheering Sofia as a milestone for Latinas in America, others say there is such a lack of cultural identity in the movie that you might not even realize that Sofia is Latina.
With me tonight in New York, Fernanda Garcia, who is the editor of "ELLE Especial" magazine. It`s good to have you here, Fernanda.
I want to take a look now at exactly what everybody`s going to see. It`s our first look at Princess Sofia. Let`s watch this together.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Disney Junior presents "Sofia the First. It`s Sofia, once upon a princess.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Once upon a time...
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Welcome to the family. I trust you`ll make your new sister feel welcome.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: ... an ordinary girl became a princess.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: All hail Princess Sofia.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Princess Sofia.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Sofia.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Sofia.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Sofia.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Hi!
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: OK, so she`s cute. And Fernanda, I`m watching that with you for the first time and thinking cute, not overtly Latino. What do you think? Did they get it right?
FERNANDA GARCIA, EDITOR, "ELLE ESPECIAL": Well, I guess also she doesn`t look Latina like everybody expected. Maybe they wanted someone with darker skin, brown eyes, dark hair.
She`s the opposite, actually. Blue eyes, too light skin. So a lot of people are disappointed because she doesn`t look Latina like they wanted.
HAMMER: That`s where the outrage is coming from, because Disney basically didn`t press that Sofia is Latina, but Disney did just tell SHOWBIZ TONIGHT this very statement: "The range of characters in `Sofia the First` -- and the actors who play them -- that Sofia the first and the actors who play them "are a reflection of Disney`s commitment to diverse, multi-cultural and inclusive storytelling."
So we`re saying basically, diversity is their goal. And we`ve seen other Disney princesses, Like Mulan, Pocahontas, Tiana, all broke the mold. Do you think that there is more that they could have done or should have done with Sofia?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Definitely. They -- I think they should have promoted this a little bit more.
And not to confuse the people, because at the beginning they said she was the first Latina princess, and then they came out saying that she wasn`t 100 percent Latina, so definitely, I think they could have promoted this a little better for the Latina audience to tune in and be able to watch the premier the first episode on November 18.
What do you think is going on here, because they did You think that Disney is kind of backpedaling here, getting cold feet about it?
GARCIA: That`s what I think. I think they saw a lot of people complaining about it and before that. And at the beginning, they said she was Latina, and then when they saw all these people complaining, they came out saying that she wasn`t. She was actually that a mother was from Spain, and the father was Canadian. So it was totally different from the first piece they gave us to say she was -- Latina.
HAMMER: Well, Thanks so much for your take on that.
A bit more backpedaling today. They met with top Disney executives who told them they came out saying that she wasn`t. She was actually from a actually misspoke when she said Sofia was Latina.
And we have another incredible SHOWBIZ Countdown coming up right now, the story is breaking today about celebrity loves and heartbreak, and no one -- I mean, no one -- does Hollywood heartbreak like Taylor Swift.
(MUSIC)
HAMMER: Tonight, brand-new revelations about who those break-up songs are really about.
Also brand-new evidence that Kim K. and Kanye West might be engaged. What`s the No. 1 story on SHOWBIZ Countdown, Love and Heartbreak?
Plus, get ready for our heroes return.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has your first look at "Iron Man 3." You don`t want to miss this.
This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT ON HLN.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(MUSIC)
HAMMER: Right now the SHOWBIZ Countdown, Love and Heartbreak. Taylor Swift reveals her brand-new break-up song today. Is it about Jake Gyllenhaal? And Kimye engaged? Brand-new clothes that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West might be real to get hitched. The big hit that Kim`s friend, Ryan Seacrest, dropped today.
Which story of then heartbreak will land number one on our SHOWBIZ Countdown tonight. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT continues right now.
Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, and thank you for watching.
So we are here to count down the top three newsmakers who brought us love and heartbreak today. Who better to kick this one in high gear than the queen of love and heartbreak, Taylor Swift? Even "Good Morning, America" host George Stephanopoulos can attest to that.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS, HOST, "GOOD MORNING AMERICA": I know you`re not going to name the man this is about, but I read somewhere you said it was designed to drive the ex, absolutely crazy. What is that about?
SWIFT: I may be said that one thing, maybe on a bad day, but I think for me like music is my way of understanding what I`m feeling.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Coming in at number three on the countdown, Taylor Swift just debuted her brand new break-up song on "Good Morning America" this morning.
(VIDEO CLIP PLAYING)
HAMMER: With me now from Atlanta, Egypt Sherrod, she is host of HGTV`s "Property Virgins". I love that show. Also, radio personality of B103, from Hollywood tonight, Bryan Safi. Bryan is the writer and host of "Growing Shade." Good to have you here too.
So Taylor Swift`s new album is called "Red." It just debuted, and as with all of her albums, this thing comes with a folk load of curiosity about tackling which ex-boyfriend Taylor is talking about in, singing about in her songs.
So vulture.com did a deep analysis, a scientific analysis of each track, and they claim that Taylor`s smash hit, "We Are Never, Ever Getting Back Together" is a direct hit at ex Jake Gyllenhaal.
Egypt, does that make sense to you?
SHERROD: Listen. I`m sure all her ex-boyfriends` blood pressure goes through the roof every time she drops a new album. But you have to expect that she`s going to write about her life experiences because that what songwriters do. If you`re going to date Pandora`s Box, don`t be surprised if something jumps out at you. I just wish I could write a song and make $2 million on my ex-relationships.
HAMMER: Yes. No, kidding. But the great thing is, she plays it close to the vest, obviously. She doesn`t spill a whole lot, but it keeps us talking about it. So I was going over the thing on vulture.com, and my favorite is their assessment of Taylor`s track on the album, which is called "Treacherous". The site thinks it has her new boyfriend, Conor Kennedy, written all over it.
Let me read to what they wrote. This is great. "Hidden message, won`t stop until it is over." The lyrics, "I will follow you home" are all about how Taylor Swift literally followed Conor to his family`s Hyannis Port compound and then bought a home there. Also, "this slope is treacherous" could be about the beach path; Cape Cod is a little rocky. OK? I think that may actually be a little - literal for Taylor Swift, Brian. But should Conor Kennedy considered this is a proper warning, you better treat Taylor with tender care, or else.
BRYAN SAFI, WRITER, HOST, "GROWING SHADE": Conor, run. Do not walk. This woman will steal everything. Honestly, her songs are so thinly veiled. They might as well be like "Friends" episodes titles, like the one about John Myer, the one about Joe Jonas, the one about Conor Kennedy. I just wish she was a little more interesting, like if Katie Holmes could be Taylor Swift, to make it learn about Scientology or Tom Cruise. I think it would be a lot more fun.
HAMMER: Oh, one day it will be fun too, if she decides, you know, I`m going to spill the beans on all this stuff. Maybe it`s part of her master plan. I don`t know.
But if that`s not warning enough, listen to what else Taylor revealed in her interview with George on "Good Morning America" about her exes and her songs. Let`s watch that.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SWIFT: My fans know I`m going to give them the real version about what happened in my music. And they know that, you know, what they read on blogs (INAUDIBLE) may or may not be true, and they can kind of tell if it`s true or not because they know me.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Yes. Egypt, I`m thinking that while her fans know her, a lot of her exes may well be regretting they ever did, don`t you think?
SHERROD: Look at it this way. At least you never have to write a tell-all book because it`s all right there on her album. She kills two birds with one stone.
HAMMER: Now, you got it wrong. She never, ever, ever has to write a tell- all book.
SHERROD: Good one, A.J.
HAMMER: I try.
Well, listen. White Taylor came up big short in her confessions this morning, not so for Liberty Ross. And her bombshell confession about her husband`s affair with "Twilight" star Kristin Stewart, she comes in number two on the SHOWBIZ Countdown of Love and Heartbreak today, breaking her silence on her husband, Rupert Sanders`, headline making affair.
Now, Liberty is a model, and she spoke out just as she was getting ready for Alexander Wang`s show during a New York Fashion Week show, and you have to watch this brand new video that surfaced today. It`s surprising.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LIBERTY ROSS, MODEL: I believe we are all on journeys and we are all given lessons at certain times in our lives, and sometimes when things seem really bad, you have to be able to see the good and learn from it and just move forward as graciously as possible.
I do think that this year is kind of the end of some things and the beginnings of something else. And I think that the beginnings are always really exciting and change is very important in life.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Now, I`m not so certain if it`s the accent, but that almost seemed as he esoteric as Brad Pitt`s Chanel No. 5 ad.
SHERROD: I agree.
HAMMER: But listen. It clearly is part confession, part commercial. Bryan, do you think that Liberty might be taking too many liberties here and using this to sell side of the story?
SAFI: I think she is taking her heartbreak all the way to the bank. We could definitely learn a thing or two from this person. I had no idea who she was before this affair. If she wanted to keep it a secret, she wouldn`t be talking. I think she is doing everything right. and she is getting a payday.
HAMMER: Yes. What do you think about that, Egypt? She is getting out there. She is speaking her piece. And she is getting paid for it. Why not?
SHERROD: Yes. Everybody deals with grief differently. If she can capitalize all for this, what is wrong with that? I see a heartbroken woman whose personal life has been thrust out into the tabloids. Most women, we are prepared for the possibilities that are men like cheat on us, but not in our face. At least protect my feelings. And unfortunately, it wasn`t done in this case.
So whatever she needs to do to feel right and get ride with the situation, go for it.
HAMMER: Yes, I`m right there with you. Especially because I think that to when the news of the affair broke and I was thinking about her and her place in this in all of these. And look, she obviously didn`t ask for any of it and she was subject to dealing with it all. What a horrible time that must have been for her.
SHERROD: And she has kids.
HAMMER: Well, now that she is cashing in and we can move on, because it`s time to reveal who is number one on our SHOWBIZ Countdown of the top three News Makers who brought us Love and Heartbreak today.
And you have to say it in a sing-song way like I do. It`s Ryan Seacrest. He set the world on fire today by dropping a major wedding watch hint on his radio show about Kanye West possibly proposing to Kim Kardashian for her birthday while they were in Rome.
Now, it would appear that Kimye is not engaged, as you can see by this particular photo of them that was taken in New York last night at the Angel Ball. But I don`t know.
Bryan, do you think that Kim is -- the fact that she is still technically married to ex-Kris Humphries is probably holding this up with the engagement here?
SAFI: You know, I don`t know. I just love that Kim`s divorce is taking longer than her marriage did. And I think absolutely, if Kim and Kanye were engaged, the world would know it. People without televisions would know it. That`s how these people work.
HAMMER: Yes. Actually, you are right. I would expect there would be a blimp with a sign on it flying over New York City. They would be dropping pamphlets over the beaches in Hollywood --
SAFI: I hope this thing is televised.
HAMMER: Well, yes. I mean, can they do it any other way, because it is exactly what we would tell them not to do. May I remind by the way, we are in fact, approaching of one year anniversary of the very day that she dropped her bombshell that after just 72 days of marriage bliss, she was filling for that blockbuster divorce.
Egypt, bombing the expression made famous by Kanye here. I`m going to let you finish, I think Kanye is really got to let Kim finished what she started first with Kris before he pops the question, right?
SHERROD: Well, yes and no. Here is why. Kim has been married twice already. She had the super big wedding. I don`t think she could have one bigger than that. And if she truly loves Kanye, maybe they are going play this one down a little bit. I mean, she would look --
(CROSSTALK)
HAMMER: No way. Never mind.
SHERROD: I tried.
HAMMER: Well, you did.
(CROSSTALK)
HAMMER: All right, Egypt and Bryan, thank you both so much. We will leave it there.
And move on to this. This is so cool. Tonight we have rare Spielberg. I`m talking unbelievable footage of Steven Spielberg coming up with a theme song for "E.T." 30 years ago.
(VIDEO CLIP PLAYING)
HAMMER: Tonight, in a SHOWBIZ Flashback, we are going to reveal this real footage just revealed of a young Steven Spielberg coming up with the soundtrack of this iconic film.
Plus, more rare footage, this time of a brand new film who get the very first look of Robert Downey Jr. in "Iron Man 3." I can`t wait. It is coming up.
This is SBT, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(VIDEO CLIP PLAYING)
HAMMER: Wow, every time I see it, one of the most iconic movie scenes of all time with one of the most iconic soundtracks of all time.
Tonight, we have an incredible look behind how Steven Spielberg brought together the sights and sounds of E.T.
Tonight, in our SHOWBIZ Flashback, it is an extraordinary look inside how Steven Spielberg actually put together the theme music for the big screen classic "E.T." Spielberg actually sat down at a piano with a film reel and composer John Williams exactly 30 years ago to come up with that theme song. You got to check it out this rare footage of that moment who just posted in You Tube and it`s our SHOWBIZ Flashback tonight.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: If it would be convenient to go into the call --
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes. I like that. I think it seems like a very natural transition into the loneliness and out of the tenderness. It hasn`t gone up yet, has it?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: That`s the end. That`s the last reel.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Up or down? Maybe it`s once down. Go down once and go up.

HAMMER: I love that. So cool, to see Steven so hard at work. And it`s hard to believe "E.T." is 30 years old.
Well, we move now from one famous flight to an infamous fall from grace. The woman behind disgraced New York Governor Eliot Spitzer`s prostitution scandal is now stepping into the spotlight herself. Former madam Kristine Davis reveals what she went through as a result of Spitzer`s sex scandal, including her life in jail.
We are going to get to see it all on the brand new Lifetime show, "My Life Is A Lifetime Movie." It airs Wednesday night. I spoke with Kristen for a brand new SHOWBIZ News Maker interview. So I had to ask her, what was she thinking when she saw Elliot Spitzer step to the podium four years ago to shamefully resign as governor in the wake of the scandal?
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: As somebody who played a historical part in that moment, I have to wonder what through your mind when you heard the governor make that speech.
KRISTIN DAVIS, FORMER MADAM: Oh boy, I was in jail. So I didn`t see the speech until much later on. But obviously, in 2007, one of his acts as governor was to increase the penalty from man getting caught using a prostitute from a misdemeanor t to a felony. And the fact that he stood here, saying he should be held accountable and yet serve no jail time and did not forfeit any of his assets, to me is appalling. It shows the complete inequities in our criminal justice system where the woman goes to jail and the man goes back to his high rise and his wife stands by him.
HAMMER: You felt there was a huge double standard going on?
DAVIS: Of course. Of course.
HAMMER: Well, you paid your dues, Kristin. You were served four months in Ricers Island. You were sentenced to five years of probation. It was cut back to 2.5 years back in November of 2010 and then you launched your own campaign to become governor. And I was wondered, I remember when you did that back then, doesn`t she kind of want to lay low and maybe keep a low profile? Why didn`t you?
DAVIS: You have no choice. You have no choice. Nobody wants to be famous or infamous for going to jail, you know. You`re being talked about every day for four months while you`re in a hell hole called Ricers Island. You get out and my financial experience was virtually irrelevant, useless because I`m now a felon. So what am I going to do? I thought about it and I wanted to fight back against a system that I felt was corrupt and I`ve seen the inside of it. So that was the best way I could find to do so.
HAMMER: Any regrets?
DAVIS: No, it made me a stronger person. When you go to jail, you find out who really loves you, so there is nothing more priceless than finding out who your true friends are.

HAMMER: Her perspective is fascinating. Make sure you check out the Kristin Davis` interview on Lifetime`s "My Life Is A Lifetime Movie", which airs in November.
