THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.
A.J. HAMMER, HOST: Tonight, the ""SHOWBIZ COUNTDOWN"," "Brilliant or Bananas?" Kirstie Alley`s secret romances with Patrick Swayze and John Travolta?
Jermaine Jackson to change his last name for his career?
Stunning new star news breaking today, but which will top the "SHOWBIZ COUNTDOWN," "Brilliant or Bananas"?
Hello, thanks for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer.
And tonight right here on HLN, we all watched "What Would You Do?" People making tough choices. Well, tonight in the "SHOWBIZ COUNTDOWN," we`re counting down the top five star couples who made the tough choice to split up, from Heidi Klum and Seal, to Tom and Katie, which is the No. 1 "Bombshell Breakup"?
But we begin tonight with our first countdown of the night. It`s the top three buzz makers that have us asking, "Brilliant or Bananas?"
We kick off our countdown at No. 3 with Kirstie Alley`s bombshell confessions about her secret romance with Patrick Swayze while they were both married. She gave a -- wrote a brand-new memoir. It`s called "The Art of Men," and in it, Kirstie says that she and the late Patrick Swayze fell in love, but there were complications.
I want you to watch what she told Barbara Walters in the brand-new ABC interview.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BARBARA WALTERS, ABC NEWS: I knew Patrick. Very devoted to his wife.
KIRSTIE ALLEY, ACTRESS: Yes.
WALTERS: But you two fell in love. He wanted you to get divorced and marry him, for heaven`s sakes? Tell me about that.
ALLEY: We did fall in love with each other.
WALTERS: But you did not divorce Parker for Patrick Swayze.
ALLEY: No.
WALTERS: Why not?
ALLEY: I probably was more willing to break up my marriage, and I wasn`t willing to break up his marriage.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Well, that`s a good thing. Kirstie`s always candid. But her choice to reveal her affair with Patrick Swayze now, is it "Brilliant or Bananas?"
With me in New York -- oh, there he is -- the fabulous David Hasselhoff. He`s starring in a brand-new Lifetime movie that is extraordinarily funny. It`s "The Christmas Consultant." It airs on November 10 on Lifeline. Also in New York tonight, Jenny Hutt, host of the terrific Sirius XM show "Just Jenny."
It`s great to have you guys both here.
So Kirstie and her husband, Parker Stevenson, did end up getting divorced back in 1997. But Patrick and his wife, Lisa, were married for nearly three decades. I think it`s actually kind of bananas that Kirstie would drop this bombshell now, considering Patrick`s widow, you know, is inevitably going to be seeing headlines about her late husband. But David, what do you think? "Brilliant or Bananas?"
DAVID HASSELHOFF, ACTOR: I think it`s bananas, but I`m -- I`m partial because I`m a good friend of Parker Stevenson. He`s a first-class guy and directed a few "Baywatches," ones with my children in it. And he`s a cool first-class guy. And I just think that that stuff should be -- remain private, and it`s not cool.
HAMMER: Yes, a lot of people do agree with exactly that. And it`s interesting with your history with Parker.
Kirstie is revealing yet another bombshell in this new memoir about what she calls the love of her life, and it`s John Travolta. Let`s watch what she told Barbara Walters about that.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ALLEY: John is the greatest love of my life. When I fell in love with John, when we were doing "Look Who`s Talking," believe me, it took everything that I had inside, outside, whatever, to not run off and marry John. And be with John for the rest of my life.
WALTERS: Why didn`t you do it? I mean, he was single.
ALLEY: Because I feel like when you marry someone, you`re supposed to work hard at it, and you`re supposed to make it work.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: What a different world Hollywood would be right now if that had happened.
All right. Jenny, to you, "Brilliant or Bananas" that Kirstie would be -- Kirstie would be confessing this?
JENNY HUTT, HOST, SIRIUS SM: First of all, I think it`s bananas and I also don`t really believe it. I just don`t. I don`t believe it.
HAMMER: You really think she could put that -- David, I mean, could you put that stuff out there if it`s not -- if it`s absolutely not true?
HASSELHOFF: I`m out of this. I`m out of this.
HAMMER: I got it.
HASSELHOFF: I live in Hollywood. I`m going to run into everybody.
HUTT: Listen, I don`t know anything. I`m just saying I just don`t really believe it. And I have to agree with both of you that the Patrick Swayze thing, bananas and totally uncool.
HAMMER: OK. I`ll make this next one easier on you, David. Let`s move on from Kirstie Alley`s love affairs to Brad Pitt`s debut as a furniture designer.
This comes in at No. 2 on our top three buzz makers that have us asking "Brilliant or Bananas?" Brad Pitt`s new furniture collection -- looking at it right now -- it`s going to debut next week in Manhattan. We`re talking about chairs and tables, the works here.
I actually do think it`s a brilliant move for Brad, especially in the wake of the Chanel ad that everybody is still talking about, and everybody is thinking that he went bananas doing this thing. Oh, do we have that cued up, Charles? Can we refresh everybody`s memory?
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BRAD PITT, ACTOR: It`s not a journey. Every journey ends but we go on. The world turns, and we turn with it. Plans disappear. Dreams take over. But wherever I go, there you are. My luck, my fate, my fortune. Chanel No. 5.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Yes, Chanel...
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PITT: Inevitable.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Chanel loves this every time we play that thing.
OK, David. This is a lot easier. Look, that ad had a lot of people making fun of Brad. But do you think it would be kind of brilliant or maybe bananas if Brad did a new commercial to plug the furniture line? You know, he could say, I don`t know, "Chairs..."
HASSELHOFF: I don`t know. That was really scary. Like Chanel No. 5 is going to send you to outer space. Maybe if I buy a chair by Brad Pitt, I`ll be launched into another millennium. It`s a little scary.
HAMMER: So we`re going with bananas?
HASSELHOFF: Bananas. Yes.
HAMMER: He gave a brand-new interview to "E!", not Brad Pitt but the guy he`s working with, his design partner, Frank Pollaro. He opened up about this collaboration process with Brad.
He said this: "Our meetings were marathons, stretching anywhere from 7 to 12 hours long and often through the night. We kept going with the help of some good meals and some great wines."
All right. So Jenny, if the new ads aren`t like the Chanel ads...
HUTT: Yes.
HAMMER: ... maybe Brad could be in a new commercial poring over design sketches with a couple of bottles of wine on the table.
HUTT: Yes, I mean, the Chanel No. 5 ads are ridiculous, with him looking off into the distance to I don`t know what. But the furniture thing, I think, is a great idea. He`s always had a very strong sense of aesthetics; he`s had a keen interest in architecture. I get it. I would buy his furniture.
HAMMER: Yes, I totally get it. And I think it would be...
HUTT: Brilliant.
HAMMER: All right. We don`t need to show the commercial anymore. Enough of the commercials.
Let`s move from Brad Pitt`s new career to something I`m going to tell you off the top I think is bananas. Jermaine Jackson`s new name. This comes in at No. 1 in the top three buzz makers that have us asking "Brilliant or Bananas?"
So Jermaine, and I like the guy a lot, but he`s filed this petition in Los Angeles to change his name to Jermaine Jacksun. Spelled S-U-N. OK, get it? Are you me on this?
His friend Steve Dennis told "The Huffington Post" the reason for the name change is simply an artistic one. Let`s put up what he said. "It is something he has chosen to do, and it`s fair to say that you cannot blame this one on the boogie. You`ve got to blame it on the sunshine." OK, Dennis making a little play on the Jackson 5 classic disco hit, "Blame It on the Boogie."
But David Hasselhoff, now we would never mess with that name.
HASSELHOFF: No.
HAMMER: He`s not Jacksun; he`s Jackson. "Brilliant or Bananas?"
HASSELHOFF: Well, obviously, it`s brilliant. Because it`s working for him. He got on TV. You know, he got the press that he wanted out of it.
You know, some people call me "The Hoff." And "The Hoff" has kind of eclipsed Hasselhoff. But you know, he`s a -- he`s a heck of a nice guy, and he`s a real sweetheart. So you know, it`s rough to make it in this business and to stay in this business. So if he wants to do it for a little, you know -- a little pop into his career, you know...
HAMMER: OK.
HASSELHOFF: ... it`s kind of brilliant.
HAMMER: I still feel that the Hoff, you know, it`s an appropriate nickname, as you will accept, based on Hasselhoff.
HASSELHOFF: Right.
HAMMER: You didn`t change the spelling. We`re not calling you the Huff or the Puff. What do you think, Jenny? "Brilliant or Bananas" on this one?
HUTT: I think it`s bananas. Does he want the nickname of "The Sun"? I don`t get it. I think it`s bananas.
HAMMER: But I also agree with David; he is a really, really nice guy.
HUTT: Of course.
HAMMER: And he is also a Jackson, Jacksun, whatever he is. I guess he could do whatever the heck he wants.
HASSELHOFF: That`s right.
HAMMER: David Hasselhoff, Jenny Hutt, thank you both so much.
HUTT: Thanks.
HAMMER: Be sure to check out David`s new movie on Lifetime. It`s "The Christmas Consultant." It will be on, on November 10. Great having you both here.
HASSELHOFF: Thank you.
HAMMER: Well, something else that`s totally bananas, the Hollywood splits this year we`ve never seen coming. We`re talking about Katie`s great Tom escape.
Katie Holmes suddenly leaving Tom Cruise. That really shocked everyone including Tom. Tonight, it`s another blockbuster "SHOWBIZ COUNTDOWN," "Breakup Bombshells."
But was the end of Tomkat a bigger stunner than Ashton Kutcher splitting from Demi Moore? I think cougars everywhere were heartbroken when this happened. Coming up at the bottom of the hour, it`s another must-see "SHOWBIZ COUNTDOWN," "Bombshell Breakups."
Also are Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson back together?
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: So yesterday, I asked Kristen Stewart if you two had gotten back together. Did you see what she said?
ROBERT PATTINSON, ACTOR: No. What did she say?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Look at that, he actually doesn`t know. That`s what he said. The notoriously private couple speaking out, but will they reveal the news that "Twilight" fans have been dying to hear? That`s what I want to know.
This is SBT, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, on HLN.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I`ve been waiting to see who (UNINTELLIGIBLE). You made such a bold entrance, a little drama.
DANIEL CRAIG, ACTOR: I have a complicated (UNINTELLIGIBLE).
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Who doesn`t appreciate the occasional twists, Mister...?
CRAIG: Bond, James Bond.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: So after the superstorm and the snow, I know I am looking forward to a major distraction this weekend with Bond, James Bond. And I know so many people feel exactly the same way. That has to be just one more reason "Skyfall" is on track to be the biggest Bond movie ever when it opens up in just a couple of hours.
And there`s one big reason that we`ve all been flocking to Bond movies for more than 50 years now. No, it`s not the cars or the gadgets. It`s the girls. The Bond girls. Women want to be them. Men want to slip into James` place to be with them. But who is the hottest of them all? Right now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT counts down our top five best Bond girls ever.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, James.
HAMMER (voice-over): In 50 years of James Bond movies, we`ve seen 007 love and leave an awful lot of women.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: But James, I need you.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: So does England.
HAMMER: But a select few are so memorable they stand head and shoulders above all the girls Bond`s loved before, which is why SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is counting down our top five Bond girls ever.
No. 5, Ursula Andress as Honey Ryder in "Dr. No." She had the most memorable entrance in Bond movie history.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: She`s just super-hot.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: That bikini has done more PR for the ocean than Al Gore could hope for in a thousand lifetimes. She`s everything that Bond girls are supposed to be in that moment. She`s strong; she`s talented; she`s got a knife.
HAMMER: Right behind Ursula at No. 4 in our "SHOWBIZ Countdown" of the best Bond girls, Barbara Bach as Anya Amasova in "The Spy Who Loved Me."
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Her code name is Agent Triple X.
BARBARA BACH, ACTRESS: I will kill you.
HAMMER: Yes, Agent Triple X and Bond don`t meet on the best of terms. With Bond having killed her husband and all. But spoiler alert...
ROGER MOORE, ACTOR: Let`s get out of these wet things.
HAMMER: ... they manage to patch things up. And in between, Agent Triple X gives Bond a run for his money that`s great fun to watch.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Anya ends up being one of the most feminist Bond characters ever who was literally James Bond`s complete equal.
HAMMER: No. 3 in our "SHOWBIZ Countdown" of the greatest Bond girls, Diana Rigg as Tracy Di Vicenzo in "On Her Majesty`s Secret Service."
GEORGE LAZENBY, ACTOR: You`re full of surprises, Contessa.
DIANA RIGG, ACTRESS: So are you, Mr. Bond.
HAMMER: There`s one big reason why we think Diana Rigg`s character ranks among the best Bond girls ever. She`s the only Bond girl so awesome that Bond had to put a ring on it.
LAZENBY: Will you marry me?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: What woman in the world has enough sassitude to land James Bond? And the answer is Diana Rigg.
LAZENBY: This is Bond.
HAMMER: Unfortunately, Mr. and Mrs. Bond`s wedded bliss doesn`t last long.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Compared to James Bond, Kim Kardashian had a long marriage.
HAMMER: Still, Diana Rigg`s Tracy Di Vincenzo lasts for a long time in Bond`s memory and ours, too.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It was a whole new level of emotional involvement for Bond.
HAMMER: No. 2 in our "SHOWBIZ Countdown" of best Bond girls, Eva Green as Vesper Lynd in "Casino Royale."
EVA GREEN, ACTRESS: You`re not going to let me in there.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It`s a great performance, definitely up there with one of the best Bond girl performances ever, I think.
HAMMER: It was this Bond girl`s unbelievable chemistry with Daniel Craig`s James Bond that helped make "Casino Royale" one of the best Bond movies ever.
GREEN: You think of women as disposable pleasures rather than meaningful pursuits.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: These two didn`t even have to take their clothes off in order for there to be this firework explosion between them.
HAMMER: But in our "SHOWBIZ Countdown" of the best Bond girls ever, there can only be one No. 1.
HONOR BLACKMAN, ACTRESS: My name is Pussy Galore.
SEAN CONNERY, ACTOR: I must be dreaming.
HAMMER: Our No. 1 is Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore in "Goldfinger."
BLACKMAN: You can turn off the charm. I`m immune.
HAMMER: Bond fans aren`t immune to the charms of this husky-voiced pilot with a crazy name.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: This is a woman who literally gives you a good roll in the hay.
BLACKMAN: You asked for this.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: And then she goes and flies an airplane.
BLACKMAN: I`m a damn good pilot.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Honor Blackman was so good at this role and turned it into such an interesting thing that you almost forget that her name is completely ridiculous.
HAMMER: And anyone who can make us forget about the ridiculous name, Pussy Galore, deserves to be remembered, as SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s No. 1 best Bond girl of all time.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: And how can you possibly argue with that?
Well, tonight Vanessa Paradis opens up for the first time about life after the split from Johnny Depp. I`ve got to say, I really thought these two were the right formula for success. Their breakup this year so stunning.
That`s why we`re including Vanessa and Johnny on tonight`s "SHOWBIZ COUNTDOWN," "Bombshell Breakups." But was that bigger than Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman`s divorce plans after 30 years of marriage? Find out which star split tops the countdown tonight.
This is SBT, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, on HLN.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ROBERT PATTINSON, ACTOR: You`re the reason I have someone to fight for. My family.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Well, next week we will know how it all ends. In the movie, anyway.
It`s the final chapter in the worldwide smash film sensation "Twilight" saga, but where are things right now in the love saga of the film`s stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart? We`ve got to know. But should the notoriously private couple go public now, if they are a couple?
Well, we know the sordid details, right? Back in July Kristen Stewart admitted to cheating on Robert Pattinson with married director Rupert Sanders. She was called every name in the book by fans and foes. Robert Pattinson reportedly left her, moving out of their home.
But by October the whispers of a reunion started turning into bona fide reports. But Kristen and Robert have never said a word until now, kind of. In back-to-back "Today Show" interviews yesterday and this morning, Kristen and Robert were asked pointblank about the status of their relationship.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SAVANNAH GUTHRIE, NBC`S "THE TODAY SHOW": So yesterday I asked Kristen Stewart if you two had gotten back together. Did you see what she said?
PATTINSON: No, what did she say?
GUTHRIE: She said, keep them guessing.
PATTINSON: Keep who guessing?
GUTHRIE: That`s what my question is. So I`m going to ask you.
PATTINSON: Well, I want to ask. Because we`re asked it all the time. It`s funny, because everyone has asked for four years. It`s like, who is actually asking? Is it in your contract?
GUTHRIE: Yes, it is.
Kristen, you have so many fans. And they will be mad at us if we don`t ask you. And they follow your life. And they want to know, are you back together with Robert Pattinson?
KRISTEN STEWART, ACTRESS: Funny you mention that. I`m just going to let people watch whatever little movie they would like to think our lives are and go for -- you know, keep them guessing I always say.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: OK. So that takes care of that. Right? Right.
Well, now I`m joined by a man who may be the one to crack this dilemma. Here in New York tonight, the brand-new co-host of "E! News," Terrence Jenkins. It`s good to have you here, Terrence.
TERRENCE JENKINS, CO-HOST, "E! NEWS": How are you? Thank you for having me.
HAMMER: Absolutely. So look, Kristen and Robert didn`t really say anything there. Do you think that they`re now at a point where they`re just ticking fans off with all this mystery?
JENKINS: I think so. I mean, they`re being mysterious right now. The big movie comes out really soon. And I think it`s -- they`re just playing into it.
For me, I`m a big fan of the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus, so just lie to me. Tell me after the film comes out. Let me go into the theaters with the mystery surrounding it.
HAMMER: You`re going to love the new movie that Alec Baldwin is in if you love the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus. But that`s a whole separate film.
I honestly expected their non-answers. I mean, what were they going to say? Right? We know how this works. But I couldn`t help but notice how incredibly uncomfortable they looked, particularly Kristen. I`m thinking, if they actually were back together, they certainly would have looked happier even if they weren`t going to cop to the relationship. Wouldn`t you think?
JENKINS: If I gave my opinion, which counts for nothing, but in my opinion, it looks like it`s still a rocky road. You know, when there`s love there, it`s going to exude through your pores.
And I just see them wanting to promote this film and a little uncomfortable around the question, so we`ll see how this plays out. But I love going into the movie not knowing.
HAMMER: The look on Kristen`s face was kind of like, "Oh, really, do I have to deal with this yet again?" Yes, you do, it`s just part of the gig. It`s part of the job.
JENKINS: It is in our contract.
HAMMER: We`re going to ask the questions. Yes, we are required to do so.
All right, Terrence, thank you so much. And congratulations again on joining the "E! News" team with one of my favorite people, Giuliana.
JENKINS: Nice being here, A.J. Thank you for having me.
HAMMER: Thanks, Terrence.
Well, we all got blindsided by Heidi Klum`s split from Seal, right? The couple, you know, that took PDA to new levels, shocked us all with their divorce news. But that`s not the only improbable split that we didn`t see coming. Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, done.
Coming up, "SHOWBIZ Countdown," "Bombshell Breakups." Which star split will be No. 1?
This is SBT, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, on HLN.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Right now it`s the "SHOWBIZ Countdown," "Bombshell Breakups.` We are counting down the most jaw-dropping breakups of the year.
Ashton and Demi`s sudden and stunning split. Katie Holmes` head- spinning divorce from Hollywood icon Tom Cruise. So which "Bombshell Breakup" is No. 1 on our countdown?
And with the new Bond movie "Skyfall" hitting movies Friday we`re also counting down the best James Bond movies ever. There have been 22 Bond flicks over the years. And we`ve got our list of the all-time best. But did your favorite Bond movie make the "SHOWBIZ Countdown"?
"SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" continues right now.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Hello, thanks for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer.
Tonight it`s the showbiz countdown of the year`s biggest bombshell breakups. Think about it. You can barely take a breath this year without hearing about yet another Hollywood split. And these were among some of the most solid star couples ever. So we thought. So what happened?
Well, let`s kick off our showbiz countdown of biggest bombshell breakups with number five. Heidi Klum and Seal. Seven years after they got married the once ideal couple announced that they were splitting earlier this year. And things kind of got ugly when Seal publicly accused Heidi of fornicating with the help as he put it. Heidi did admit to dating with the family bodyguard on the Ellen DeGeneres show and she even said that things were going really well.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ELLEN DEGENERES, TV HOST, THE ELLEN SHOW: It`s a hard thing to, you know, we share so much of ourselves in this business. So, when something happens in our personal lives it`s a hard thing. So, I don`t -- I`m going to respect that and I`m not going to talk about what`s going on in your personal life. Because your personal life is your personal life.
HEIDI KLUM, ACTRESS: I`m very happy, though.
DEGENERES: Oh, good. I`m glad. I just wonder if you`ve seen the movie "the Bodyguard" because I love that movie.
(LAUGHTER)
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: All right. So, here`s the dilemma. After being so open about their union, should Seal and Heidi have been so public about their split?
Joining me now in New York, Terrance Jenkins, Terrance is joining Giuliana Rancic as her new co-host on "E!" News next week. Congratulations on that, Terrance.
TERRANCE JENKINS, TV HOST, E! NEWS: Thank you so much, A.J.
HAMMER: Also in New York, the lovely Jenny Hutt of the Sirius XM radio show "Just Jenny."
JENNY HUTT, RADIO HOST, JUST JENNY: Hi, A.J.
HAMMER: It`s really great having you here. Let`s dig in now. Seal and Heidi as we all know were notorious for putting their relationship out there in music videos. They renewed their vows every year. It was just so sweet and so rare in Hollywood.
So Terrance, I`ll start with you. I imagine you`ve got to agree it was one of the most shocking splits of the year.
JENKINS: It was definitely shocking. You know, they were one of everybody`s fast cu favorite couples. The Halloween parties were always a big hit. Everybody loved them. And when they broke up, I think it kind of shocked everybody.
HAMMER: And I think they created a problem for themselves because they were so forward about their successful marriage. You know, really presented this big dilemma when things finally came to an end. Do they talk about it, don`t they talk about it? And Seal was the one who was the first to speak out. He spoke to "Today FM" in Australia and said he owed the public an explanation. Let`s listen.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SEAL, SINGER: You know, when you publicize your marriage as much as our marriage was publicized, when you renew wedding vows, when you do all of those things, what you are saying to people is you are giving them a picture of an ideal relationship, a relationship that people aspire toward. When it goes south, you can`t all of a sudden take philosophies that the (INAUDIBLE) and decide to go for the vow into silence. It doesn`t really work like that.
I respect my wife`s decision not to talk about that. I felt that people at least deserved some kind of explanation why the kind of picture of the ideal wasn`t what they thought it was.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Thank you, Seal. I thought that was so refreshing. I think he had a great point. You can`t have it both ways.
Jenny, do you agree? Heidi and Seal kind of owed the public an explanation because of what an open book they`ve always been?
HUTT: Listen. I have to break it down first at the beginning which is this, A.J. I think there is no ideal relationship. And I think the fact that they put it out there as this relationship of perfection right there was a tell that maybe things weren`t going to work out forever after. That`s a long-term relationship that`s real and engaging can never be perfect.
Then I think do they owe it to tell us everything about the messy stuff just because they talked about some of the pretty stuff? I don`t know. I kind of think somewhere they can -- they can divulge what they`re comfortable with.
HAMMER: Well, yes. I mean, you don`t have to do all the nitty-gritty and really ugly stuff. By the way, Jenny, may I point out you look lovely today?
HUTT: I do?
JENKINS: You didn`t tell me I look lovely, man.
HAMMER: Actually, you look very handsome.
Let me move on right now to our big number four on breakup bombshell countdown. I don`t even know why I`m going there right now. But, let`s talk Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. They were a lovely couple, always looked lovely together as they do right here. Their breakup was revealed this past year, of course. Now, when they got married back in 05, of course, there were naysayers out there. People doubted it mainly because of the age difference this thing was going to last. You know, Demi was 43, Ashton 27 at the time. Then as we all remember Demi became known as the ultimate cougar. In fact, I think the term was born right about then. We really thought they had proven critics of their 16-year age gap wrong, Terrance. Is that why they split came as such a surprise?
JENKINS: You know, for me it wasn`t a surprise. You know, in the beginning a lot of people didn`t think it was going to work. I hoped that it work. They seemed really happy when they were together. But you know, with that age difference and Ashton just starting off in the height of his career, not sure always if that level of maturity in the beginning was able to translate to, you know, a long successful relationship.
HAMMER: Yes. I think a lot of guys were like, are you insane, Ashton? Really? You`re going to settle down right now? I actually -- I was never cynical about it, but I was also realistic about it.
JENKINS: Exactly.
HAMMER: We know Ashton started dating his "that `70s show" co-star, she`s 20 years younger than Demi.
Now Jenny, I have to believe the breakup of Demi and Ashton had cougars up in arms across the nation.
HUTT: Well, look, as a 42-year-old woman, if my husband, who I`ve been with for 17 years, if he then was with someone who was half my age, yes, I`d be really, really upset and definitely jealous. I mean, to be young and beautiful like Mila Kunis and to have my husband, oh, ouch, eek.
HAMMER: Yes. Your husband would be insane.
HUTT: Thanks, A.J.
HAMMER: Let`s move on to our number three big bombshell breakup in our countdown tonight, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis. These guys were together for astonishing 14 years, huge numbers in Hollywood. By all accounts, this couple, you know, were always very elusive, were one of the happiest couples in Hollywood. They kept their family life far from Hollywood. They lived in France. Given that they went out of way to stay private to keep their lives with their two kids balanced, this breakup really did blindsided everyone, didn`t it, Terrance?
JENKINS: Absolutely. But I mean, this just goes to show you Hollywood is a tough place to have relationships last. You have examples of couples that are all the way out there like Seal and Heidi. And then, you have Johnny Depp and you know, it`s just tough to make it work even if you have a lot of privacy like they had.
Yes. It`s brutal in any case. But you know, we always talk about the Hollywood spotlight making it that much more difficult. Just after their split, of course, there were reports that, you know, there was possibly an affair between Depp and a 26-year-old co-star from his movie "Rum Diary," Amber Herd. And Paradis did speak out not long after that. I want to read what she told "Harper`s Bazaar." Sometimes you can be in an unhappy relationship, you are very much in love with someone, but it`s making you unhappy and you think things can change and you can work it out. And I think she worked it out by getting out.
Well, Heidi and Seal, Ashton and Demi, Johnny and Vanessa. Such huge breakups, obviously. Not the two top breakups this year according to us.
Who occupies our top spots of the biggest bombshell breakups? Terrance, Jenny, keep looking pretty. Stay right where you are. The top two revealed next.
Also still ahead, the brand new Bond movie "Sky Fall" is taking over theaters tomorrow and going to be number one this weekend for sure. We are here to count down the top five best James Bond movies ever. Will "sky fall" make the cut? Is your favorite Bond movie on the list?
It`s the showbiz 007 countdown you don`t want to miss. This is SBT. (COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Showbiz countdown, big bombshell breakups continues right now. I want to get you up to speed where we`re at.
At number five, notoriously Lovey Dovey Heidi Klum and Seal split after seven years of marriage.
At number four, we were all shocked when Demi and Ashton`s cougar epic union fell apart. It broke cougar`s heart across the country.
At number three, the couple famous for staying out of the spotlight, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis.
Time now to reveal our number two on the showbiz countdown, a big bombshell breakups. It`s Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Bet, you thought this was number one, right? No.
Katie filed for divorce after five years after marriage stunning the world and Tom Cruise, himself. E! News host, Terrance Jenkins and Sirius XM`s Jenny Hutt back with us now.
So guys, a lot of people thought that Katie really pulled off mission impossible this past summer. She seemed to blind side Tom. She filed for divorce papers in late July. And by the end of August, Tom settled the divorce. Easily one of the quickest divorces I`ve ever seen in Hollywood. Their dilemma was, of course, what about Suri, their 6-year-old daughter?
Terrance, was this one a bombshell because it was such a smooth split?
JENKINS: I think that was the most surprising element of it all is how fast the split took place. Things seemed to be handled really, you know, in a mature manner. So we`re all excited about that. But when he jumped on the couch, when he jumped on Oprah`s couch a little piece of me wanted it to work for Tom and Katie. Unfortunately, it was a mission so impossible (INAUDIBLE).
HAMMER: Yes, exactly. I never had a problem with the couch jumping thing.
But Jenny, it was so methodical and really was almost like mission -- I mean, you think about it, how precise this divorce was.
HUTT: Well, I kind of feel like that`s how precise the marriage was. And I think in that way that`s where it`s not that big a shock. I mean, it`s upsetting because like you guys I wanted it to work, too. It had some fairy tale feeling for it. And about it. But I don`t know, I think a lot of us felt like it was a little bit maybe not an actual real marriage.
HAMMER: A lot of people said that. Not everybody felt that way. But if they`re not number one, who could it be?
Time now to reveal who is number one on our showbiz countdown of big bombshell breakups. And for us, its Hollywood veterans Danny Devito and Ria Pearlman. These guys were married 30 years when they announced their split in the fall. Reports say they`re going to remain friends.
But Terrance, this was not only a bombshell in my mind. It was just plain sad to see.
JENKINS: Oh, my goodness. When I got the "E!" news e-mail that morning that they were breaking up, and I have to admit, I jumped out of my bed. It`s super shocking. I`m a big fan of "cheers," I`m a big fan of "twins." I can`t believe my favorite couple broke up especially after 30 years. And 30 years, I just felt like they should have rode it out.
HUTT: Yes.
HAMMER: Yes. Jenny, very quickly, yes or no, did we get it right?
HUTT: You got it right, totally. Totally shocking. And I figured they would last forever.
HAMMER: Oh, well. Sad. Sad. Sad. I`m still sad about it talking about it right now.
JENKINS: Me, too.
HAMMER: All right. Terrance, Jenny, thank you both so much.
I want everybody to check out Terrance Jenkins when he debuts as Giuliana Rancic`s brand new co-host on "E!" News next week at 7:00 p.m. on E!.
Thanks, guys.
We`re moving from bombshell breakups to the new explosive Bond movie. Are you excited about this "sky fall" in theaters tomorrow? "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" is daring to ask, what is the best James Bond movie ever? It`s a special showbiz 007 countdown. But did your favorite Bond movie make the list?
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(VIDEO CLIP PLAYING)
HAMMER: OK. This looks so amazing. Brand new Bond movie "Sky Fall" opens in just a few hours. And we are shaking up martinis tonight in anticipation.
And tonight, we are also counting down the best Bond movies ever. The first Bond film, "Dr. No" premiered exactly 15 years ago this year and another 22 Bond films followed after of that. But, out of all of the Bond movies which are the best?
Legendary Bond actor Roger Moore just cast his vote on the "Today" show this morning. Let`s watch what he said.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ROGER MOORE, ACTOR: I finished the book three or four months ago. I would like to have seen "Sky Fall" then because I would now write another chapter. I think it was just the best Bond ever made.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: Wow. That is a vote of confidence. And "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" has now watched, analyzed and debated over all of James Bond`s other big screen adventures. But right now, we are counting down the top five.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Bond, James Bond.
HAMMER (voice-over): For 50 years we`ve watched James Bond defeat more villains --
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Your time`s running out, strong bug.
HAMMER: -- rock more tuxes.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I think my mouth is too big.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It`s the right size.
HAMMER: And hook up with more women than we can count. But "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" can count down the top five greatest James Bond movies.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Splendid.
HAMMER: Number five on the showbiz countdown is 1977`s "the spy who loved me." It included that cool amphibious car and a bad guy with a cool ocean fortress.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Within minutes New York and Moscow will cease to exist.
GRAE DRAKE, SENIOR EDITOR, ROTTEN TOMATOES: I think "the spy who loved me" is one of the better Roger Moore Bond movies.
HAMMER: Number four on "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s" countdown of the top five Bond movie, 1969`s "on her majesty`s secret service."
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: A lot of Bond fans have a soft spot for "on her majesty`s secret service."
HAMMER: Yes. This movie tends to get a bad rap because it stars the only one-time James Bond, George Ladenby.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: George Ladenby is kind of the Brandon Ruth of James Bond, always going to be the man who was superman once, he`s the guy, James Bond once.
HAMMER: But, with its intense no nonsense action and shockingly tragic ending that still packs a punch --
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: There`s no hurry, you see. We have all time in the world.
HAMMER: On her majesty`s secret service" is now widely known as perhaps the most under rated of all the James Bond movies.
DRAKE: "on her majesty`s secret service" ages really well. And it actually still holds up.
HAMMER: Number three on our "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s" countdown of the top five greatest Bond movies, 1963`s "from Russia with love."
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I`m Mr. Bond here.
DRAKE: "From Russia with love" is more of a hardcore James Bond.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: My order is to kill you.
DRAKE: It`s still a lot of good punching and driving and loving.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You`re one of the most beautiful girls I`ve ever seen.
HAMMER: Speaking of loving the "from rush with love" gets points for a completely modern Bond twist. Bond gets threatened with a release of a secretly made film of him Bonding with a beautiful woman.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Today threatening to release a James Bond sex tape wouldn`t be, like, a blackmail plot. It would be something to get him a reality show.
HAMMER: Number two in our countdown of the five greatest Bond movies, 1964`s "goldfinger."
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Choose carefully, Mr. Bond, it may be your last.
HAMMER: "goldfinger" had some of the most iconic images in Bond mystery. There was Bond versus the laser.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You expect me to talk?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die.
HAMMER: The gold plated girl.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I hope he kept the gold body. That`s only going to go up in value.
HAMMER: And the girl with the memorable name.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: My name is pussy galore.
HAMMER: Plus --
DRAKE: An amazing theme song which I secretly sing to myself in the shower all the time. Goldfinger!
HAMMER: Which all brings us to "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s" choice for the number one Bond film ever, and a word of warning, it is unconventional choice. Yes, we`re calling 2006`s "casino Royale" the greatest Bond film of all team. Easy sir Connery. Here`s how.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It`s gritty, it`s dark, it`s smart.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Hidden the bodies down in here.
HAMMER: "Casino Royale" remains the top grossing Bond film ever and as first time Bond Daniel Craig kills it.
DRAKE: Daniel Craig manages to bring a real humanity to Bond.
HAMMER: What sets this apart, the super hot and super tragic love story between Daniel Craig`s Bond and Eva Green as the dooms best Berlin.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: As charming as you are, Mr. Bond, I`ll be keeping my eye on the government`s money and off your perfectly formed -- even accountants have imagination.
DRAKE: They had this amazing way of talking to make it feel like it was foreplay. That energy hadn`t been captured in a Bond film in a long time.
HAMMER: That`s the best part about James Bond movies. For 50 years now there`s always been another one around the corner.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER: All right. What do you think? Did we get our Bond countdown right? Well, you can judge for yourself. All 22 James Bond movies are now available in a special new 50th anniversary blue-ray DVD collection.
And we have yet another iconic Hollywood figure in the showbiz house tonight. I can`t wait, going one-on-one with the great David Hasselhoff. He is revealing everything about his next big thing.
This is "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" on HLN.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HAMMER: Tonight, David Hasselhoff`s next big thing. Now, the Hoff may not be best known as a king of comedy. But I can tell you, he is absolutely hilarious and he`s now showing off the funny in a brand new Christmas movie.
Yes, face it, the holidays are just around the corner. You got to see the Hoff in lifetime`s "the Christmas consultant." Let`s watch a little.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Hello, Fletcher family.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Kids, this is the gentleman I was talking to you about. Owen, these are my kids.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: No need for introductions. I have done my homework. You must be David. Hello, brother. Give me a pound.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Excuse me?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Give me a pound. Yes. Yes. Yes.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HAMMER: How do you not love the wardrobe and the hair there? David Hasselhoff joining me for the showbiz newsmaker interview. Great to see you, David.
DAVID HASSELHOFF, ACTOR: Yes. I even dyed my hair red for Christmas. How about that?
HAMMER: Beautiful. It`s purple.
HASSELHOFF A lot of fun making that movie. Really was.
HAMMER: I imagine. And your character`s job so everybody knows is to help out this family that`s just too busy to manage all the things that come with Christmas. So, my question to you is, could you actually handle the job like that in real life?
HASSELHOFF: Yes. You know, Christmas is big in the Hasselhoff house. We deck out the house pretty big. You know? And well, anyway, I actually hired a real Santa Claus who drove around in a Volkswagen instead of a sleigh in L.A. it`s a lot of fun because it`s kind of based on "it`s a wonderful life" doing 50 movies. And this kicks off the whole season. And I`m kind of honored to be there because it`s a lot of fun. I love the character. Like "the wedding planner" meets Will Ferrell and it`s out there.
HAMMER: He`s wacky.
HASSELHOFF: The kids will love it.
HAMMER: Wacky and zany. So, just tell me quickly before I let you go, as this year`s Christmas consultant, real tree or fake? What`s your pick?
HASSELHOFF: Absolutely, real tree. You got to have a real tree. For the scent. Yes.
HAMMER: All right. Well, the very real David Hasselhoff. Always a pleasure having you here.
HASSELHOFF: Thank you so much.
HAMMER: I want everybody to check out "the Christmas consultant." It airs on Lifetime November 10th. Great to see you, David.
HASSELHOFF: Great to see you. Thank you.
HAMMER: And thank you for watching. Be sure to watch "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" Monday through Thursday. We`re on at 11:00 p.m. eastern and pacific.
HLN continues right now.
