JUAN MARTINEZ, PROSECUTOR: Man, were you crying when you were shooting him?
JODI ARIAS, MURDER DEFENDANT: I don`t remember.
MARTINEZ: Were you crying when you were stabbing him?
ARIAS: I don`t remember.
MARTINEZ: How about when you cut his throat? Were you crying then?
ARIAS: I don`t know.

HAMMER: The fierce lead prosecutor in her case. Her own expert witness that just blew a huge hole in her defense. So who is Jodi`s worst enemy?
And Lindsay Lohan is headed to rehab after her day in court. So why is the madam at the center of the Elliott Spitzer hooker case desperately trying to give the star legal advice? Well, Lindsay`s dad is explaining what the heck is going on in a must-see SHOWBIZ Newsmaker interview.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT starts right now. Hello, and thank you for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer, and we just saw the tough questions about the Jodi Arias murder trial being asked on "HLN AFTER DARK."
And now in the "SHOWBIZ Countdown," SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is asking more tough questions, as we count down Jodi Arias`s top three worst enemies today. And we`re doing it with "HLN AFTER DARK" correspondent Beth Karas. She has been covering every day of the Arias trial in Phoenix for HLN.
And Jane Velez-Mitchell`s compelling coverage of the trial is seen weeknights on "THE JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL SHOW." That happens, of course, at 7 p.m. Eastern here on HLN. Jane is with us tonight in New York.
And ladies, I want to kick off our "SHOWBIZ Countdown" with enemy No. 3. A psychologist who was back on the witness stand today, who was ironically hired by Jodi`s defense team to help her case, not hurt it.
We saw the live testimony all day here on HLN. Dr. Richard Samuels trying to explain Jodi`s claim she does not remember shooting her boyfriend, Travis Alexander, then stabbing him nearly 30 times and slitting his throat. But is he turning into one of her worst enemies?
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
HAMMER (voice-over): He was supposed to serve Jodi Arias`s defense. Instead, Jodi`s expert witness ended up getting served himself.
NANCY GRACE, HLN ANCHOR: He is getting carved up on cross-examination like a Thanksgiving turkey.
HAMMER: Jodi`s defense expert, psychologist Richard Samuels, was supposed to testify that Jodi suffers from a stress disorder that explains her hazy memory the night she killed Travis Alexander.
DR. RICHARD SAMUELS, PSYCHOLOGIST: That`s one of the criteria of post- traumatic stress disorder.
HAMMER: But prosecutor Juan Martinez blew a huge hole in that plan by pointing out a simple fact.
JUAN MARTINEZ, PROSECUTOR: She lied, right?
SAMUELS: Yes.
HAMMER: You see, Jodi has told three different stories about what happened the night she killed Travis. Problem is, in court, Samuels had to admit his diagnosis was based on a PSD test that Jodi took back when she was still telling story No. 2.
JODI ARIAS, MURDER DEFENDANT: I witnessed Travis being attacked.
HAMMER: Which was a big fat lie.
SAMUELS: Perhaps I should have re-administered that test.
HAMMER: Uh, possibly. So Jodi could now be asking herself, with defense experts like this, who needs enemies?

HAMMER: Jane Velez-Mitchell, I`ve got to know what you think. Is this psychologist, who was brought in to help her, actually hurting her and unintentionally now turning into one of her worst enemies?
JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HLN ANCHOR: Yes. Can you say nightmare that is boomeranging on the stand, A.J.?
This is a disaster for the defense. This defense psychologist got up and said, "Oh yes, there was a fog. She had PTSD. She had amnesia. But oh, yes, she could still throw the camera in the washer, take the gun, drive out into the desert, and dispose of it." He explains all of her incriminating behavior.
But, oops. He did it, diagnosed her based on her lies, so it doesn`t count. The prosecutor pointed it out in a brilliant, detailed dissection of this exam he gave her.
HAMMER: This is not the way it`s supposed to go. Beth Karas, are you out there every day covering the trial live here on HLN. What`s the vibe out there about this guy who, again, supposed to be there to help her, is turning into a really terrible enemy for her.
BETH KARAS, CORRESPONDENT, TRUTV`S "IN SESSION": Well, there`s no question, that people in the courtroom are kind of shaking their heads at - - at this testimony, because as Jane just said, he did base his diagnosis on lies of hers, and he didn`t try to corroborate some of her statements when he could have tried to, to determine whether or not they were lies.
Now he did say some of these lies are not that important and she definitely experienced a traumatic event, whether it was witnessing people killing him or doing it herself, his diagnosis would be the same. However, jurors are scribbling notes, and they`re scribbling questions for the doctor, so we do expect that he will be answering a number of the jurors` questions.
HAMMER: We`ll have to see how that plays out and if it gets any better for him and them. But while the psychologist is intentionally turning into one of Jodi`s worst enemies, No. 2 on the countdown, someone who is intentionally her enemy. The guy who did the demolishing of the psychologist, namely, Juan Martinez.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
JUAN MARTINEZ, PROSECUTOR: Ma`am, when you were crying when you were shooting him?
HAMMER: He made Jodi Arias`s life on the stand difficult.
MARTINEZ: You were the one that did this, right?
ARIAS: Yes.
HAMMER: He`s doing the same to her expert witness.
MARTINEZ: You don`t have any memory problems, do you?
SAMUELS: No.
MARTINEZ: And Jodi`s attorneys aren`t big fans either.
JENNIFER WILLMOTT, JODI`S DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Can we ask the state not to yell at the witness?
HAMMER: Prosecutor Juan Martinez continues to take no prisoners in his effort to send Jodi to Death Row.
MARTINEZ: Answer my question.
HAMMER: Prosecutors aren`t in court to make friends, especially with the defendant. In Martinez, Jodi has one dogged enemy.

HAMMER: And, Jane, we`re witnessing Juan Martinez SEEMINGLY relishing his role as the chief tormentor to Jodi and her expert witness, aren`t we?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes, he is aggressive, and he is the worst thing for a woman who`s a pathological liar, because he won`t let anything go. She changes her story a little bit and thinks, "Maybe I can slide on that" and oh, no. He comes right back, whether it`s oh, did a holster exist or didn`t it exist?
He dives into the details, and that`s how you catch a pathological liar. And he bounces around. He`s not linear, so that he`s trying to catch her off-guard. And he has caught her off-guard. He has really, really shown this woman to be a big, fat liar, and so she has zero credibility.
HAMMER: Yes. And, Beth, he really fits the role of enemy in Jodi`s case so perfectly with all that aggression, doesn`t he?
KARAS: Well, yes, and, you know, I used to be a prosecutor, and, you know, you take your cases personally sometimes, even though you probably shouldn`t. As far as Juan Martinez is concerned, Travis -- he here to do justice to Travis Alexander`s death. From Juan Martinez`s point of view, this was a premeditated, vicious slaughter of a man who didn`t deserve it. And he intends to see justice. Now that`s his point of view.
Jodi says that she was justified in doing this and that she was tormented by Travis Alexander, but Juan Martinez is relentless. He`s like a rabid dog, and let me tell you: he is so prepared. I`ve seen lots of cases, and this is a man who is up there without notes, just hammering questions, at all of the witnesses. He stands in the well of the courtroom acting things out. You don`t see him looking at notes, looking for the next question. No, it`s all in his head.
HAMMER: Yes. I have found that really stunning as I`ve watched the coverage live here on HLN, as well. And to your point, I think that just shows how personally he is taking all of this.
But look at this. You would think that the guy who`s trying to send Jodi Arias to Death Row would be her No. 1 worst enemy, right? Not exactly. No. 1 on our "SHOWBIZ Countdown" of her worst enemies is, Jodi herself.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
JUDGE SHERRY STEPHENS, PRESIDING OVER TRIAL: "After all the lies you have told, why should we believe you now?"
HAMMER (voice-over): It`s clear that, if Jodi Arias is convicted, the biggest reason would be the defendant herself.
ARIAS: If I hurt Travis, if I killed Travis, I would beg for the death penalty.
HAMMER: And even if Jodi manages to get acquitted, she`s doing herself no favors in the court of public opinion.
ARIAS (singing): It might change my memory.
HAMMER: This new video of her singing and acting weird during a break in her police investigation doesn`t make her look good, especially the part where she complains that she doesn`t look good.
ARIAS: You should have at least done your makeup, Jodi. Gosh.
HAMMER: Either way, Jodi seems to ruin everything she touches. And that could include her very own defense.

HAMMER: You know, Jane, we took a good hard look at this countdown before we put it all together, but it really is no contest, is it? Jodi Arias is clearly her own worst enemy.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: One of the most self-destructive human beings and destructive human beings that I`ve ever witnessed in my life. And her own words. This woman should have stopped talking a long time ago.
Remember when she infamously said, "No jury will ever convict me?" Well, then she said, "Oh, that`s because I planned to kill myself," which she never did, obviously. It really is a very tragic case and a cautionary tale. Don`t be like this.
HAMMER: And the wild ride will continue, but where will it go next?

Tonight, it`s the battle of the baby bumps. Duchess Kate and Kim Kardashian may be pushing toward the same due date, but when it comes to their mommy styles, well, so far anyway, they are words apart. And from work and fashion to big baby preps, I`ve got to know which mom to be is winning the battle of the baby bumps right now?
Let me go to Jenny Hutt, who is the host of the Sirius XM radio show "Just Jenny." Jenny is with me in New York. Hey, yourself, Jenny.
And from Hollywood, fashion expert and TV personality Nicki Penny, Kate Middleton`s former stylist.
Here we go. You have both Kate and Kim, keeping up some very, very busy work schedules. You have the duchess. She`s out almost daily performing her royal duties. Basically she`s showing up at a lot of charitable events and showing support. Great to see her out there.
And meanwhile, you have Kim Kardashian. She`s writing a mommy blog. She`s traveling around the world peddling her books and her products.
Jenny Hutt, to you first. Who wins this work battle?
JENNY HUTT, HOST, SIRIUS XM`S "JUST JENNY": Oh, my gosh. The work battle, well, I -- this is a tough one. I have to say that Kim, I think, travels more. I think she does more globe-trotting with less maybe support than Kate might have. Because Kate has the whole royal entourage, whereas Kim might just have an entourage. I feel like they look out for Kate`s safety probably more than they do for Kim. So I`m going to have Kim win this one.
HAMMER: I actually would like to know who has a bigger entourage. You would think it would be Kate, but you might be surprised.
Nicki, let me ask you. Can we even declare a winner in the work battle? Because they`re both out there, many months pregnant, working really hard?
NICKI PENNY, KATE MIDDLETON`S FORMER STYLIST: Well, Kim definitely wins. Because it`s what I always say to you, A.J., is that Kim`s career is based upon her public appearances and her personal persona, and being in the media, to constantly keep working.
Whereas Kate, on the other hand, is the opposite. Especially now while she`s pregnant, she`s trying to shy away from the media and, you know, enjoy her pregnancy in private, so she`s only going to those important official engagements that she really wants to attend. Completely different.
HAMMER: All right. Yes.
HUTT: But I was also -- it wasn`t the size of the entourage, I was saying, A.J. It was more that I think that the care that`s given to Kate.
HAMMER: Ah, yes, OK. I`ll give that you one. And look at Nicki, giving one to Kim Kardashian.
But let`s move now from work to fashion. Both Kate and Kim, certainly changing the look of maternity fashion, right? They`re setting their own rules. Nicki, I know you`ve worked closely with Kate. But please don`t let that sway your vote here. Who tops the score card for best dressed so far?
PENNY: My best dressed is definitely Kate, A.J. I`m sorry. I can`t change that. Even though I think Kim is, you know, dressing slightly more demure recently and she`s definitely trying to be a bit kind of more elegant and tasteful with her clothes, I definitely think that Kate is winning, hands down. Every time she leaves the house, she is absolutely impeccable, and she flatters her bump in all the right ways.
HAMMER: All right. And Jenny, I`m going to take your head nodding as a vote for Kate there, too?
HUTT: Yes.
HAMMER: Jenny Hutt, Nicki Penny, we`ve got to leave it there.
HUTT: OK.

HAMMER: That is Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and James Franco -- kind of creepy -- in "Spring Breakers." The movie just opened in a limited number of theaters, but it`s already grabbing huge buzz.
It`s also setting records at the box office for a movie with a budget that`s smaller than those bikinis you were looking at there.
Right now it`s "SHOWBIZ Trending," and SHOWBIZ TONIGHT just caught up with Selena Gomez. The former Disney queen opened up to us about her mega- transition from the tame world of teen stardom to the "Girls Gone Wild" feel of her new movie, "Spring Breakers."
Joining me in New York is Jenny Hutt, the host of the Sirius XM show "Just Jenny," which I love. All right, Jenny. So Selena Gomez just got mobbed during the making of this movie. So many people clearly obsessed with her every move, not to mention, of course, her personal life as the ex- girlfriend of Justin Bieber. And she just told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that the attention did really get to her. Let`s watch that.

GOMEZ: It was distracting a couple of times. Specifically for me, I definitely had my moments where I was really annoyed by it. But I mean, we can`t really do anything about it. We just tried to stay focused and do what we were there to do.

HAMMER: Now, Jenny, I know it comes with the territory, right?
HUTT: Yes.
HAMMER: But I do feel for her. She`s trying to break out, grow up personally and professionally. I kind of want people to back off.
HUTT: I understand what you`re saying, A.J. But this is a kid who has literally grown up in front of the camera, from her days on "Barney" to "The Wizards of Waverly Place" to now this movie, "Spring Breakers." And it`s -- look, she chose to go out with the most famous heartthrob.
HAMMER: Yes.
HUTT: I mean, like No. 1. Kids from -- girls, little girls from 10 years old through Selena`s age love Justin Bieber. So it`s no surprise that people are going to ask about what`s going on.
But I mean, great. Let her grow up, let her break out. Rumor has it, this movie is quite interesting.
HAMMER: Yes, yes. That`s what I heard, as well. And here`s the thing. When I talk about wanting people to back off, she still gets the haters out there because she was with Justin, even though they`re not together any more. And I guess that`s the part that really bothers me.
HUTT: I`m with you there.
HAMMER: I`ve never really understood it. And she talked about her split with Bieber for the first time this week. She did it by cracking a joke about making Justin cry. And I`m trying to know -- I want your perspective on this -- is that a clean hit or a bad move in your mind, Jenny?
HUTT: Listen, I think that`s a clean hit. Justin will have plenty of shoulders to cry on.
HAMMER: All right. Fair enough.
Talk about transformations. Can we put it up, Charles? Honey Boo-Boo`s mama, June, also trending tonight on the red carpet at the GLAAD Awards for best reality show award. Can you imagine her going to the show? Take a look at this: Mama June, more than 100 pounds lighter, rocking this glam look here.
Jenny, she said she would never go Hollywood. But I think Hollywood actually looking pretty good on her.

HAMMER: And I think it`s funny that she`s showing up at all these awards.
HUTT: Yes.
HAMMER: Never in her wildest dreams would this be a part of her life.
HUTT: She`s having fun.
HAMMER: She is having a good time.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT and thank you for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer. Who would have thunk it? The Manhattan madam at the center of the Eliot Spitzer hooker case actually going to bat for Lindsay Lohan, and this madam is outraged. Just as outraged as Lindsay`s father Michael, who is with us tonight from Boynton Beach, Florida for SHOWBIZ Newsmaker interview.
Both Michael and the madam are outraged over Lindsay`s new lawyer. He just appeared with her in court. Well, she agreed to a plea deal stemming from charges that she lied to police when she said she wasn`t behind the wheel after her Porsche slammed into a truck last year. Well, here are the terms of a plea deal. 100 days -- 180 days in jail. That was suspended. She gets 90 days in rehab lockdown, 18 months of psychiatric counseling and 24 months of probation.
Michael, it`s good to have you here. Why are you so outraged against Lindsay`s attorney? He is keeping her out of jail. She is going to rehab and lockdown mode for 90 days, as I said. So, what`s wrong with that?
MICHAEL LOHAN, LINDSEY LOHAN`S FATHER: Well, the outcome is exactly how I hoped it would be. But he didn`t do it at all, A.J. I had met with the prosecutors before he even got there. And I basically said to the prosecutors, there were a few things we discussed. And number one, that Mr. Heller had tampered with a witness. The witness had called me the day before, his name is Gavin Doyle, who was a passenger in the car seat and he said that three or four days prior to this, that Lindsay had called Gavin up and he went to meet Lindsay and it was ironic, that was before the trial, of course, and Mr. Heller was there. And Mr. Heller asked him to sign a document that Lindsay never lied, that he never heard Lindsay lie during this case at all, but also Mr. Heller told Gavin not to say that he -- that Lindsay wasn`t driving, but to say, and I tell you this from Gavin even told the prosecutors this, Mr. Heller told him to lie and say he grabbed the wheel and pulled the car in the direction of the truck so that he actually had control of the car, making him the driver. Which is not only tampering with a witness, but it was just all out lying. Mr. Heller has done a number of things in this case that really bothered me. He`s done things in the past with other clients I know. Jon Gosselin, Hailey Glassman. He owes me a lot of money. He took money from them. He`s just not a very ethical man.
HAMMER: OK, and we -- and Michael, let me jump in we obviously haven`t been able to confirm your claims about what you say that Mr. Heller did. But today, Michael, we did learn that you have company. We heard that former Manhattan madam Kristin Davis just wrote an open letter to Lindsay begging her to fire Mark Heller, her attorney. Let me read to you what she wrote.
LOHAN: Yes.
HAMMER: She said Mark Heller used to represent me. He did nothing to get me out of jail when I was arrested, because he was more concerned with generating press for himself. He left me sitting in Riker`s Island for four months, despite dozens of pleas from my family and myself to file a bail reduction. After four months of his self-publicizing incompetence, I fired him. So, Michael, do you think Lindsay will step up and do the same and fire him? At one point yesterday, she actually yelled at him, because he wouldn`t shut up in court.
LOHAN: Well, I did the same thing outside the courtroom. And Lindsay left and I left, I mean he was still there giving a press conference and when I found out, I confronted him. But A.J., understand this. When I was back in the prosecutor`s office and I speak -- I had hired attorneys and we had -- they had spoken to the prosecutor and I asked -- I asked him, I said, listen, give her as much time in jail as you can, but also offer her rehab, just that she has no other choice but to take rehab, because that`s exactly what she needs. Yesterday, so, Heller didn`t negotiate anything. It`s, you know, maybe we planted the seed in his head, my attorneys and I, but at the same time, it was ultimately up to the prosecutor`s office, the city attorney and Mr. White and his co-counsel new exactly what she needed. When I said -- when I said not on the professional basis about Mr. Heller, but on a basis of father. Lindsay needs help. She needs help. It`s very evident, whether it was before court or after I met her after court, which no one knows about, of course, but she needs help and the prosecutor, Mr. White said I know. Don`t worry about it, we know what we`re doing, and they did the right thing and they put -- the thing that bothers me, A.J., is they put constraints on her, and in that courtroom, her friend and her bodyguard were with her when the judge said don`t go to places where there is drugs or alcohol, that might be used or sold. And what did she do last night with the same people in the courtroom that heard the judge say don`t do this? She went out again last night.
HAMMER: That`s unfortunate to hear. But Michael, I have to say, we do hope that this sentence imposed on her is exactly what she needs. And I do appreciate you being here.
LOHAN: Yes.
HAMMER: We did reach out to Mark Heller, as of our deadline, we hadn`t heard back. Michael Lohan, I do thank you very much.
Well, from Lindsay`s courtroom drama now to another headline making case. The sensational trial involving legendary music producer Phil Spector, who is convicted of murdering actress Lana Clarkson ten years ago in his home by shooting her in the mouth. Now, he was sentenced to 19 years to life. And tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT brings you the woman who has stood right there by his side, insisting he is innocent. Phil Spector`s wife. From her mysterious 911 call to Spector`s driver to Spector`s penchant for wearing wigs to court each day, the details of this case certainly were gripping. Well, this weekend HBO premieres a movie about Spector`s first trial. It`s Al Pacino starring as Spector in the film. With us tonight from Hollywood Phil Spector`s wife, Rachelle. Rachelle has just written a song for him called, "Yes, I Love You" and she joins me now for this SHOWBIZ Newsmaker interview. Thank you so much for taking some time with us, Rachelle.
RACHELLE SPECTOR, PHIL SPECTOR`S WIFE: Thank you.
HAMMER: Well, you married Phil six years ago. He`s been in jail four of those six years at this point. Why do you think that you are going to be able to free him somehow and live together again?
SPECTOR: Because the evidence doesn`t support the fact that my husband was responsible for her death. And science doesn`t lie. People do. And what frees people, that is normally in jail for ten, 20 years, DNA, and in this case, it`s the lack thereof. The gun was not registered to my husband. They swabbed it in seven different places, bloodied and non-bloodied. His DNA was nowhere on the weapon, his fingerprints were not on the weapon. He didn`t have any gunshot residue on him at all. And anybody that is familiar with firearms, especially revolvers with the cylinder gap, there is a huge cloud of barium, lead, antimony, burnt or unburnt particles, he had non on him. And he was wearing white. If you are in a vicinity of a discharged of an intra-oral gunshot wound, it`s 5,000 pounds per square inch of pressure in your mouth, that`s equivalent to running a semi truck in your mouth. You would have blood and tissue and particles in your hair and your face and he had none. So he wasn`t even in -- near the incident when the gun went off.
HAMMER: Well, the blood splatter actually was a big part of the case that was made in the HBO movie about Phil`s trial that premieres this week. And I did see the movie. I have to say, besides anything else, it`s a compelling look at a case that is so fascinating and a compelling look at a very fascinating man, your husband, Phil Spector. Let`s take a look at some of this film.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I think he`s not guilty.

HAMMER: OK, now, Rachelle, again, I saw the whole movie and it seemed to a lot of people walking out of that theater, that the movie does help your situation, as it casts doubt about Phil`s guilt. But you`ve been very vocal saying, you don`t approve of it. Why is that?
SPECTOR: Well, actually I had the first script and then I seen one rewrite of it, and even though -- I was actually I was -- I snuck into a screening last Thursday, which is pretty ridiculous that I have to sneak into a screening of a movie about my husband, but it wasn`t as bad as I thought it was going to be, although Al Pacino doesn`t portray my husband accurately. What was done in the movie was about the forensic evidence, and they reiterated throughout the film the fact that Lana Clarkson was loaded on pills and drugs and alcohol, was in a very depressed mental state and that she ultimately killed herself. And in the film as you know, since you`ve seen it, they backed it up with forensic scientific demonstrations ...
HAMMER: Right.
SPECTOR: ... to show that my husband could not have been responsible for her death.
HAMMER: Tell me quickly about the song that you wrote for Phil, "P.S. I Love You."
SPECTOR: "So, P.S. I Love You" was derived from love letters that we were writing to each other over the years and I decided to turn those love letters into songs and it`s just a tribute to my husband to show a sympathetic, humanizing side to him.
HAMMER: Good luck to you with your single, "P.S., I Love You." I really do appreciate you being with us here tonight on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.
SPECTOR: Thanks so much for having me.

HAMMER: So you have turned over, I read somewhere, an estimated million letters -- over a million letters in some 30 years you have been doing this game?
WHITE: Can you can believe that? Yes. And I have heard that I clapped over 3.5 million times.
HAMMER: How are your hands?
WHITE: They are smooth. Look at that.
HAMMER: They are smooth. What`s your secret, Vanna White?
WHITE: I don`t know.

HAMMER: I have to believe as much as it`s changed over the years, that you love it, perhaps in a different way, but you love it as much as when you first started.
WHITE: I do, I do. It`s just great. It`s so much fun to come to work. It`s a fun job. You know, I come, I give away someone else`s money, and they are happy!
HAMMER: Were you happy when they changed the technology of the letter turning? Because that was a big deal to me.
WHITE: It was.
HAMMER: It was very iconic that you would actually turn the letters over. And then I turn on the TV one day, and you are touching. How did that go over?
WHITE: I said, is there any way you can make my job easier?
HAMMER: Oh, OK.
WHITE: No, I`m kidding. I didn`t say that. But I was very happy when they did that. It certainly did make it easier for me. But, of course, today`s technology, with everything computerized, it did make it easier, and it probably took about an hour a day off the production schedule.
HAMMER: That`s good. And it modernized the look, and the feel.
WHITE: Definitely.
HAMMER: Because that`s one of the great things about the show. It remains classic, yet it moves forward. It`s this magic that you guys work.
WHITE: Yes.
HAMMER: And the walking in the high heels. We must talk about this.
WHITE: OK.
HAMMER: Because now I have another fact and figure here. That you walk over a mile or run a mile during each of your tapings? Could that be true?
WHITE: I guess it could. I do a lot of walking back and forth in the high heels.
HAMMER: You know, Sarah Jessica Parker made walking in high heels really an art form more than it even was by doing "Sex and the City". Apparently her doctors told her she grew an extra bone in one of her feet. I`m not kidding. She said this.
WHITE: Really?
HAMMER: And she has had to give up the high heels.
WHITE: Wow. Well, I have not given up the high heels, nor have I grown an extra bone. But thank goodness for those platform in the front. You know, I wear heels this high, but there`s this much of a platform in the front, so really my heels are only this high.
HAMMER: And the gowns.
WHITE: Yes.
HAMMER: That has to be a fun part of this job.
WHITE: It is. It is. I enjoy wearing them, most of them. Because some of them are really, really tight and-
HAMMER: Restrictive. Have you ever actually had to change outfits, because you put it on, you walked out and said, you know what, guys, this isn`t going to work? I can`t do my job like this?
WHITE: Not during the show. I try the clothes on before -- we do fittings beforehand, so there are some that are so tight that it`s like I cannot not breathe for 30 minutes. I can`t wear this dress, too tight.
HAMMER: Do you have a massive wardrobe there?
WHITE: Yes.
HAMMER: Once things come in, you wear them, and they go out. You`re not holding on to them.
WHITE: No. They are sample sizes from different designers. They send all their samples. I - if we`re doing 12 shows in two days, we`ll pick like 15 of the outfits, and I`ll wear them, and then they go back.
HAMMER: Typical TV stuff. And the ones you wear, though, they go back to the designer?
WHITE: They will.
HAMMER: I`m thinking the Vanna White Museum. Somebody should curate the gowns of Vanna White Museum. One of the great rewards of the show has to be your relationship with Pat. You guys have been together for some 30 years. It is a unique relationship. You probably spend almost more time with each other than with other people in your lives.
WHITE: Yes.
HAMMER: I bet people think you are actually married in real life.
WHITE: Some people do. As a matter of fact, we made a joke many years ago, an April fool`s joke, that we were married, and then at the end we said April fool`s. We got so many toasters. It`s crazy. So we are not married, just so you know.

MOOS: The rest of the WZDX news team walked off the set, and Jillian Pavlica`s boyfriend walked on. He had sabotaged the Telemprompter.
VINCE RAMOS: I can`t picture a day of my life not waking up with you by my side.
MOOS: Then Vince Ramos dropped down on one knee.
RAMOS: Will you marry me?
PAVLICA: Yes.
RAMOS: I love you.
PAVLICA: I love you too.
MOOS: You made some cute but funny little noises.
PAVLICA: That is embarrassing.
MOOS: Now the back story. The doctored Teleprompter. The truth finally dawned on Jillian when she got about 23 words in and finally read aloud the word "proposed."
RAMOS: My main goal was for her to get at least 50 percent of the way through without her realizing it.
PAVLICA: A Huntsville news anchor is being proposed on live TV.
MOOS: Now, Vince is a sales manager of a car dealership. He knows nothing about TV, and needed an accomplice to commandeer the Telemprompter. Jillian`s producer was instrumental in tricking the anchor. Ten seconds before coming out of the break.
PAVLICA: Oh my God, he was in my ear, like Jillian, we have breaking news. He`s like, just shut up and read it. I`m like, OK.
MOOS: Her friends are joking about it being a Ron Burgundy moment.
FERRELL: I`m Ron Burgundy?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Damn it! Who typed a question mark on the Teleprompter? For the last time, anything you put on that prompter, Burgundy will read.
MOOS: The media blog, FTV Live, wasn`t feeling romantic. "Why should anyone else give a crap that the news anchor`s boyfriend wants to marry her? Propose on your own time, not the viewers."
PAVLICA: Everyone always says we want to see happy news. And you know what, it was a happy ending.
MOOS: All of Jillian`s precipitation led into the weather.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: 100 percent chance of a few tears of joy tonight.
