Zimmerman Trial Shockers; Three Big Newsmakers of the Day
Aired June 27, 2013 - 23:59 ET
THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.
CARLOS DIAZ, HLN HOST: Tonight on the showbiz countdown, today`s George Zimmerman trial shockers including the fears battle between the star witness and the defense attorney.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DON WEST, DEFENSE ATTORNEY: And the reason you didn`t do anything was because you thought it was just --
RACHEL JEANTEL, WITNESS: And I thought (INAUDIBLE).
WEST: But you thought it was just a fight because it was one you knew that Trayvon Martin was planning to start.
JEANTEL: No, sir.
DIAZ: Is the prosecution too much?
Plus, SHOWBIZ newsmaker, Mama Snooki talks Mama Kim. Reality star, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi`s sharing surprising and unbelievable advice for new reality star, mom, Kim Kardashian. Snooki is right here with her tips for Kim. Will she top the showbiz newsmakers countdown?
"SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" starts right now.
Hello, I`m Carlos Diaz, in for A.J. Hammer.
And tonight in the showbiz countdown, "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" is counting down today`s top trial shockers in the George Zimmerman trial seeing live all day and every day right here on HLN.
And what we saw today was absolutely remarkable and riveting. Rachel Jeantel, a friend of Trayvon Martin, back on the witness stand, the last person to speak with him on the phone just before George Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon. Zimmerman attorney finding it hard to believe that she didn`t believe the killing had become a racially charged event.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WEST: Are you OK this morning?
JEANTEL: Yes.
WEST: Did someone talk with you last night about your demeanor in court yesterday?
JEANTEL: No. I went to sleep.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: And on, and on it went, all day. Defense attorney Don West trying to pick apart Rachel Jeantel`s story and wait until you see the fireworks that followed. In Atlanta, Jane Velez-Mitchell, host of the "JANE VELEZ- MITCHELL" show week nights at 11:00 p.m. eastern here right here on HLN, and star rapper and actor Jonathan McDaniel is following every step of the trial here on HLN as well. He is in Hollywood. Jonathan is now starring in the VH1 show "Hit the Floor" airing Mondays at 9:00 p.m.
Let`s kick of the showbiz countdown, guys of our top three trial shockers with number three, the dramatic moment when Zimmerman`s attorney confronted Rachel Jeantel about what she heard that night on the phone when Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchman, confronted and shot Trayvon.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WEST: So the last thing you heard was some kind of noise like something hitting somebody.
JEANTEL: Like Trayvon got hit, Trayvon got hit.
WEST: You don`t know that, do you?
JEANTEL: No, sir.
WEST: You don`t though that Trayvon got hit.
JEANTEL: He could, he had.
WEST: You didn`t know that Trayvon at that moment take his fist and drive it into George Zimmerman face.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Please lower your voice.
WEST: Do you?
JEANTEL: No, sir.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Wow. Jane, where is all this animosity coming from? You can almost feel Rachel Jeantel wanting to say, you know what, Mr. Attorney? I cannot stand you right now.
JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HLN HOST, JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL: These two despise each other. And you heard the judge saying lower your voice to the defense attorney. This is war, and it is war because she is a crucial witness for the prosecution who establishes that the aggressor was George Zimmerman, according to her.
Now, she was listening on the phone. She`s not an eyewitness. She`s an ear witness. She wasn`t on face time, she wasn`t on Skype. She was just listening. So, she was making certain assumptions based on what she was hearing about what was happening. And he was challenging those assumptions. That`s his job. Some people say he worked overtime, though.
DIAZ: Well, I got to say, you know, here at CNN, Atlanta we had this huge big screen with the food court. And everyone was glued to Rachel Jeantel, watching this testimony. She`s become an internet sensation.
Jonathan, you`ve been watching the trial on HLN. How do you think she`s coming across?
JONATHAN MCDANIEL, ACTOR: I definitely don`t think that she`s coming across how the prosecution wanted her to come across. She`s not really being a credible witness to me as far as representing Trayvon in the right manner.
DIAZ: Why do you say that? Why do you say, you know, that she`s not representing Trayvon in the best light?
MCDANIEL: Only because, you know, the defense is picking apart her story. They`re taking what they want from her story and they`re making that the story. And I think, you know, Rachel Jeantel`s not the one on trial. George Zimmerman is on the trial and I think that`s where we should be focus on. We should be focusing on hum and picking apart his testimony and picking a part, you know, his testimony and the people that are coming to his defense, I think that to me is the most important part of the case.
What she has to say, you know, is definitely relevant, but at the end of the day, I don`t think she`s representing Trayvon the right way because they`re picking her story and only taking the negative and causing that to be, you know, her story, they`re not taking apart what she really knows. I mean, asking her about what wet grass sounds like to me is irrelevant to the case. Why are we talking about wet grass?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, she mentioned wet grass that`s why we are talking about wet grass. She said she heard the sound of wet grass or words to that effect. And so, the question of course, you can`t hear wet grass. She was trying to say she heard a struggle on wet grass, but that`s not precisely what she said. So, the defense attorney`s job is to question that.
DIAZ: I understand. But I understand the point being made. The point being made is, let`s focus on George Zimmerman, and not the fact that she doesn`t know what grass sounds like.
Another dramatic exchange between Rachel and Zimmerman`s attorney, Don West, is number two in our showbiz countdown of today`s top trial shockers. He would not stop pressing her today about her last phone conversation with Trayvon while he was being followed by Zimmerman. And watch as Rachel and Zimmerman`s attorney spar over why she didn`t call the cops after her call with Trayvon was cut off. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WEST: And the reason you didn`t do anything was because you thought it was just a fight.
JEANTEL: And I thought his father was around there.
WEST: But you thought it was just a fight because it was one you knew that Trayvon Martin was planning to start.
JEANTEL: No, sir. He would have told me, sir and told me to call him back or he`ll call me back, sir.
WEST: You`re saying that if Trayvon Martin was getting ready to assault this man that he would have said hang on a minute, I`ll call you back.
JEANTEL: No, sir. He would not let me on the phone.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: No, sir, he would not?
JEANTEL: -- allow me on the phone if he were about to have a fight.
WEST: I understand that.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" viewers flooded our facebook page today as they watch the trial here on HLN.
Karen Anne writing, this is on our wall, right here, she`s being a bratty little snot. These are words written, rude is rude period. She needs to understand that he is at a murder trial. And if she respected her friend, she would be cooperative and attentive and compliant. Ridiculous.
But Mary W writes quote, "there is nothing wrong with her. She`s a typical traumatized teenager in front of the world being grilled by a bald dude who is trying to make her say things to help the man who killed her friend. This young woman is being absolutely honest."
Jane, what do you think of those comments?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Look, there`s a big divide. People are listening to her testimony and drawing different conclusions and that`s our criminal justice system. You present both sides and you let the jurors decide. It doesn`t matter what the public thinks at this point. What matter is what those jurors think.
This young lady, 19 is on the world stage for the first time in her life. And she is, I think handling herself quite well because she did stick to her guns despite a grilling prosecution insisting on the crucial point that no, Trayvon wasn`t about to go after George Zimmerman, he was trying to get home.
DIAZ: And that takes us to our number one trial shocker today, guys.
Today on the showbiz count down, the explosive racial testimony. Some suggested that Zimmerman profiled Trayvon because he was black, and his friend Rachel seemed to agree. Watch her back and forth with Zimmerman`s attorney about that and about the racist term Trayvon used to describe Zimmerman.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
WEST: One thing about what Trayvon Martin told you that made you think this was racial?
JEANTEL: Describing the person.
WEST: Pardon me?
JEANTEL: Describing the person.
WEST: I just didn`t --
JEANTEL: Describing the person that was watching him and following him, sir.
WEST: Describing the person is what made you think it was racial in.
JEANTEL: Yes.
WEST: And that`s because he described him as a creepy ass cracker?
JEANTEL: Yes.
WEST: So it was racial, but it was because Trayvon Martin put race in this.
JEANTEL: No.
WEST: You don`t think that`s a racial comment?
JEANTEL: No.
WEST: You don`t think that creepy-ass cracker is a racial comment?
JEANTEL: No.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Wow. Now that is a dramatic turn.
Jonathan, if this trial isn`t already racially heated, I think it got a little worse right there. What do you think?
MCDANIEL: I definitely agree with you there. That was a big mistake, you know, not being able to understand that that`s a racial remark that Trayvon said. But at the end of the day, like I said, you know, race is a motive, and if you have motive to kill somebody you can`t claim self-defense and George Zimmerman is claiming self-defense, but he had motive, and his motive was racism, you know and that, you know, the fact of the story.
There was plenty of times when George Zimmerman has hinted at the fact that, you know, these people or these kids are trouble or, you know, they need to be stopped or they need to do this. And it`s like who are you talking about? The young black Americans that have the right that you have the right to live in the same neighborhoods as you, I don`t understand the issue here, you know. And so, when it comes down to racism, you know, definitely this case is racially charged. But at the end of the day, you know, race is a motive. And if it`s racially charged --
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, let me just say this. The judge said profiled. You can`t say racially profiled. You can say profiled.
MCDANIEL: OK.
DIAZ: This is one of those discussions -- Jane, you can take this on your show, a whole hour on Jane Velez-Mitchell. You don`t want to miss that.
Jane, Jonathan, you guys, as always, great job. Thank you so much.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Thank you.
MCDANIEL: Thank you.
DIAZ: I am firing up another must see showbiz countdown Showbiz newsmakers, including the brand new Paula Deen all out from her explosive racism controversy. Paula Deen`s tearful 3-minute apology just wasn`t enough to stop two more huge sponsors from ditching Paula today. Is this the end of her empire?
"The Chew`s" co-host, Jason Roberts, worked with Paula and he is here tonight tell me if he thinks this is the beginning of her end.
Snooki newsmaker. Mama Snooki talks Mama Kim Kardashian. Was it really a good idea to name her baby girl, North West? Snooki is going to tell me what she thinks about all the brand new stuff with Kimye including that name and the baby news.
Which newsmaker will take the number one slot on the showbiz countdown?
This is SBT, "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" on HLN.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
DIAZ: Welcome back to "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT."
And now, showbiz justice and the big legal troubles of a NFL star just got bigger. Aaron Hernandez was back in court today for a bail hearing. He is being charged with murder in last week`s shooting death of an acquaintance, Odin Lloyd.
And today more startling news, "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" learned that Hernandez is now being investigated for a double murder that went down in Boston in July of last year. He hasn`t been charged with anything in that crime. And for his current charges, he`s pleading not guilty.
In Hollywood, we have freelance sports reporter, Jackie Pepper. Check her out on her sports blog, Pepper on sports.com and Ryan Smith of HLN`s evening express is here in Atlanta.
All right, guys, a lot is being made of Aaron`s troubled past. Check out this photo. TMZ reported this is a picture Aaron took of himself with a camera in one hand and a gun in the other during his college football days in Florida. There have been multiple reports of gang activity among of his, some of Hernandez`s associates.
Jackie, you covered Aaron during his NFL days with the New England patriots who released in the day he was arrested. Does what you`re hearing today match up with the player you used to know?
JACKIE PEPPER, SPORTS REPORTER: No, absolutely not. I think most reporters working for outside agencies would agree that with entertainers, musicians, athletes, you only get to know people on the surface. They only let you see what they want you to see of them the 15 minutes after the game or 20 minutes for practice a week. I mean, Aaron was a personable guy. He was a little ornery which most of these guys are. Imagine if, you know, 50 reporters come in to your office every day. So of course, you don`t expect someone to be going down for murder. But, he has an interesting past, and there always seemed to be a little more than met the eye with him, but never did I expect something like this to happen.
DIAZ: Ryan Smith, you`re perfect to talk about this because, of course, you are a lawyer and also a football fan. Hernandez is charge with one count of murder. Today, we hear he is being looked at for possibly two more. What do you think police are going to be looking for?
RYAN SMITH, HOST, EVENING EXPRESS: Well, they are going to be looking for any evidence they can find. They are already searching other home, they were looking at rental car records because apparently in the other case, there was a rental car that was used in some manner.
Now, we are still trying to find out more information about this. Nothing has been confirmed. But here`s the thing. Anything that he`s got, they`re going to try to figure out, let`s take a look at it if there any kind of cover up going on here because there is a lot to sort through. But it`s early in the process, Carlos.
So, it`s going to be tough to see how the link, how they make a link to Aaron Hernandez and what the connection is, but apparently they`ve got something going on. We`ll have it to see what happens.
DIAZ: Yes. And more bad news for Hernandez His bailed was denied today
Jackie and Ryan guys, thank you so much.

"SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" continues right now.
Welcome back to "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT." I`m Carlos Diaz in for A.J. Hammer.
And tonight on the showbiz countdown, we are kicking off today`s top three big showbiz newsmakers with number three.
Celebrity chef, Jason Roberts, on the dramatic new developments breaking today in the Paula Deen controversy. More major sponsors put her on the chopping block, even after her live appearance on NBC`s "Today show" trying to set the record straight. Just take a look at the follow out, the home depot, along with the diabetes drug, Paula Deen`s sponsored today joining Caesars entertainment, Smith Field Hams, Walmart and the Food Network, all dumping Deen.
Jason Roberts who works with Paula Deen is with us tonight. Jason is the co-host of ABC`s "the Chew." He joins me tonight from New York in our showbiz newsmaker interview.
Jason, a lot of people are coming to Deen`s defense despite her using endorsement and getting slam for using the "n" word, does she deserve a break?
JASON ROBERTS, HOST, THE CHEW: Come on. She deserves a break. When I first heard about it, I was shocked, sad and gases. I know what it`s like, you know. You build a brand. You`re a family person, and to see the demise of it right before your eyes. I mean, she`s in total shock right now. She`s doing these appearances. Those apologies, they are sincere, those tears, but to even be on those shows, the shock, and to be there. This is crazy.
DIAZ: Well, the Food Network was first take a stand by firing Deen. Do you think they made the right move? Do you think she deserve to be fired? And do you think that kind of caused an avalanche effect?
ROBERTS: I think so. Look, Paula is getting a massive slice of humble pie right now. And look I think what she needs to protect is her family and her well-being at the moment. But, based, I mean, these endorsements seem to be dropping by the moment.
I feel for her. To lose an endorsement, I mean, you feels like you`re losing the love. But considering something that started, you know, 30 years ago and something that`s reared its head again, she is really confident. I really feel for her family and her.
DIAZ: I appreciate your honesty and your care there. I want you take us inside the world of celebrity chefs. Are other chefs angry about the Paula Deen backlash?
ROBERTS: I think a lot of other chefs are being conscious of what they say, everyone`s building a brand. I think you just have to be very conscious in what side of the fence you sit on. Look, I grew up in a country where we`re colorblind. We don`t believe in race. We are equal. We judge each other on face value, you know. Treat everyone as you want to be treated. So, this is new for me. But chefs have become real rock stars. They field audiences, two, three, 4,000 people. Cookbooks, endorsements are huge. So, for this to be pulling down around her feet right now must be incredibly painful.
DIAZ: But you mentioned the rock star status. Deen still does have her supporters. Her bands are showing their support by lighting up at her Savannah restaurant to eat and they are signing up for cruises on NBC`s "Today" show. Matt Lauer asked Deen how much that support means to her. This is her response. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MATT LAUER, HOST, TODAY SHOW: Is your salvation in that core group of fans? Can you rely on your base and focus, to use a political term, on that base and survive this?
DEEN: I think that we can never underestimate the power of those voices.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Will fans support save her? That`s the question.
ROBERTS: I think long term, absolutely. I mean, it`s the fans who put her there in the first place. I think one of the biggest issues is, you know, if we look at social media right now, if that had happened on any other day, look what`s going on at the moment. We have the Zimmerman trial, the Boston bombing, I think the James Gandolfini`s funeral, there are so many other things. If this had happened today, people would be, there`s so many other important things to be focusing on.
DIAZ: Jason Roberts, I thank you once again for your candor and your honesty. Thanks so much coming.
ROBERTS: Pleasure.
DIAZ: All right, we move on now from one scandal to another, one of Hollywood`s biggest scandals playing out on TV. And at number two on our showbiz countdown of the day`s top three showbiz newsmakers, the stars of Lifetime`s "Anna Nicole" movie. All this week, showbiz is bringing you the stars of the highly anticipated drama which is set to premiere this Saturday night.
(VIDEO CLIP PLAYING)
DIAZ: Wow. That is tough to watch, knowing that the story is true.
Let`s bring in from Hollywood, actor Graham Patrick Martin who plays Anna Nicole`s son, Daniel, in the movie. Daniel tragically died months before his mother did. Graham also stars on TNT`s hit drama "Major Crime." And with us from Pennsylvania, judge Larry Seidlin who famously presided over the custody hearing for Anna Nicole Smith`s body.
What a life, what a story to tell.
Graham, was there ever a moment when you were making this movie that you thought how are we going to pull this off in because you know Anna Nicole Smith`s fans are going to be watching every detail.
GRAHAM PATRICK MARTIN, ACTOR, ANNA NICOLE`S MOVIE: Yes. And that was a really, you know, kind of stressful part of the whole thing because, you know, everyone really kind of knows about this case. And so, it was definitely a lot of pressure to make sure you get it right and make sure you don`t end up doing some kind of caricature of these characters, some sort of imitation that rather actually experiencing what they went through.
DIAZ: Graham, in the clips that I have seen, you guys did a great job. I mean, this is a case that I know very well. I was in court every day with the judge Seidlin and it`s great to talk to judge Seidlin right now.
And judge Seidlin, the sad details of Anna Nicole`s tragic life were first revealed in your courtroom. What was the one thing that still haunts you to this day because as we know, you got very emotional on the bench?
LARRY SEIDLIN, STATE COURT JUDGE: Well, there are number of factors that wanted me. It was a double tragedy. Losing Anna Nicole and then the daughter, Dannielyn, without a mother. And it affected me. Judges aren`t supposed to show emotion, but we`re human beings. And we have seen the judges in all the cases that have just been on showing emotion. And it`s good because you want the judges to be involved in the case. You want them to get to the right result.
DIAZ: And I agree. I mean, you were quite effective in court. You know, watching you every day, working there in court.
You know, Agnes Bruckner play as Anna Nicole in this movie. She told "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
AGNES BRUCKNER, ACTRESS: You know, she was constantly surrounded by enablers and just never really has anybody in her life to kind of tell her to stop and slow down. And you know, no one ever really, I think, cared about her well-being and her health and her happiness. I think everybody was like go, go, go, go, do this, do that. And unfortunately, I think that`s, you know, that`s why her life ended so shortly.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Truly a life that ended too soon.
Graham, I want to give everybody a look at you next to Anna Nicole`s son, Daniel, who on the left. I`ve got to say perfect casting on this one. When you prepared for the role, what did you find about Anna`s relationship with him that surprised you most?
MARTIN: Well, just how close they were. You know, I only knew a very basic version kind of what the story was. You know, I was 12 years old when it all happened. So I didn`t follow it closely. But through my research, I just found that the two of them were very close and shared a very personal relationship. So, I think that when he died of an overdose in 2006, I think, it really took, you know, kind of just one more awful toll on her.
DIAZ: And finally, Judge Seidlin, you know, I was sitting in that courtroom when you got emotional, when you were reading the verdict and reading what was happening. What were you thinking in your own mind? Were you thinking pull it together, pull it together, or were you just saying to yourself, I`ve got to let these emotions out?
SEIDLIN: I`ve spent most of my adult life as a juvenile judge, a family judge. And I have a child who`s now going to reach almost 13. And I was concerned about the welfare of Dannielyn, with the children that are alive, and I wanted to make sure that her life would be good. And thank God her life is good. She`s being cared for by her father.
DIAZ: I appreciate you.
Thanks so much Judge Larry Seidlin and Graham Patrick Martin. You guys are great. Thank you so much for joining us tonight.
And don`t forget, "Anna Nicole, the movie" premieres this Saturday night on Lifetime. Check your local listings and showtimes, you can also check out Graham Patrick Martin on TNT drama, "Major Crimes."
Let`s move on now to the number one moment of our showbiz newsmakers countdown and it is Snooki. How did Snooki snag the coveted number one spot on the showbiz countdown, you ask? Well, take a look at this jaw dropping transformation.
Snooki, is that really you? Snooki is right here in house ready to reveal the secrets to her weight loss success. This, you got to see.
And Snooki is going to give us her take on all the big Kimye baby news, including what she really thinks of Kimye naming their baby girl, North West. Does she love it? Does she hate it? She doesn`t hold back, and she`s not going to start now.
Plus, wait until you see what we named as our showbiz moment of awesomeness.
This is SBT, "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" on HLN.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
DIAZ: Welcome back to "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT."
And in the showbiz countdown, we are counting down the top three big newsmakers today. Here`s we are at so far. Coming in at number three, Paula Deen`s demise. More sponsors including Home Depot pull out of their deals with Deen today over her racism controversy.
Coming in at number two, newsmakers involved in new Lifetime movie about Anna Nicole Smith speaking out here on "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" about the movie and the legacy that her tabloid star left behind.
And that leads us to number one on our showbiz countdown. It is time to speak with reality TV sweetheart and new mommy, Nicole Snooki Polizzi. I can`t wait to hear Nicole`s secret about how she lost all that baby weight since becoming a mom to precious baby boy.
Look at you. You look fabulous.
NICOLE SNOOKI POLIZZI, REALITY TV STAR: Thanks for having me. I`m so excited to be here. I love you guys.
DIAZ: I can`t believe -- look, I don`t believe this is Snooki because you look you`re -- this, the face is like a V. It`s is like --
POLIZZI: Yes, I mean, I decided to actually take care of myself. So this is what I look like.
DIAZ: Well, we`re going to get to your big weight loss secrets after having baby Lorenzo in a minute. But first, I have to ask you about some other big celebrity baby news. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, they are the proud parents of daughter, North West.
POLIZZI: Yes.
DIAZ: You got a head start on Kim as a mommy. What`s your advice to Kim now?
POLIZZI: I feel like Kim`s going to be fine. You know, she`s Kim Kardashian. I feel like she`s glamorous, she is beautiful. I think she`s going to be a great mom. And I feel like people needs to be a little bit easy on her. I feel really bad for her.
DIAZ: In what way?
POLIZZI: Just hike with the name for instance, like North West. It`s her baby. She can name it whatever she wants to name it. I think it is nice. I think it`s original, it`s cute, even if it is, you know, a compass. I still it`s cute. It`s your baby. And you know, she should just be happy in this time. And it sucks, I mean, I had to read negative comments that people say about your new born. It sucks. So, I feel bad for her.
DIAZ: Yes, that`s a good point, by the way, because people don`t realize like it is one thing to make comments about you, which as you say sucks in its own self. But then, when you have a through baby, it is like, this is the most amazing thing in the world and people don`t take that into account, you know.
POLIZZI: Yes. I mean, I feel like she just needs to be happy right now. And then, it is hard because then you see reading like covers of magazines of people making fun of her baby`s name. I mean, she doesn`t need that, nobody needs that and I just feel bad. I mean, that`s not nice, so.
DIAZ: Yes. Well, you know, everyone has been making a big deal of Kimye naming the baby North West. And Kim`s brother, Rob, just offended their name choice on air with Ryan Seacrest. Listen to this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ROB KARDASHIAN, KIM KARDASHIAN`S BROTHER: I told Kim and Kanye this, people are always going to talk whether it is good or bad. And there is always going to be the haters and just do what you guys feel like you guys, you know, everyone`s going to say you`re coming up with some weird celebrity, crazy name, you know how it is.
RYAN SEACREST, RADIO HOST: But I heard it has meaning. It means like, it has something to do with their relationship going up.
KARDASHIAN: Well, I mean, I don`t know. North West sounds cool. North is the highest point.
SEACREST: The highest point.
KARDASHIAN: So, I mean, it has a lot of meaning to it.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Nicole, I think the name is unique. And we have heard your take on, you know, people responding negatively. But when you heard that they named the baby North West, in all of your dealings, did you say to yourself oh, God, here we go. People are just going to go all out over them because of the name?
POLIZZI: Well, I figured they were going to go all out on them anyway. I mean, people are just really mean to reality stars for some reason. I mean, we are just being ourselves. And I don`t know, people has always to take a stub at us. So, I knew they were going to make fun of, you know, Kim`s baby no matter what. But, I mean, the name really doesn`t help. But I mean, I like it. It`s their baby. They should be happy no matter what. It`s their child. And that`s all that matters.
DIAZ: All right, from babies to baby faced Miley Cyrus who just performed her new song, Can`t Stop, on good morning America. Now, when asked about making some questionable headlines recently, you know parading around wearing almost nothing and becoming somewhat of a tabloid target, she had this to say on the show.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MILEY CYRUS, SINGER: And my whole thing is haters are going to hate, but the haters are also going to click on your You Tube video to watch it. So, I don`t really care. You helped me break the record, even if you were watching just to hate on me. And now I hold the record. So I win.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
DIAZ: Yes.
POLIZZI: She`s cute.
DIAZ: Her video for We Can`t Stop set a record with 10.7 million views in 24 hours. Unbelievable!
Nicole, the video is very risque. Do you think she needs to tone things down or do you think that she needs to do her thing and let haters hate?
POLIZZI: I mean, I didn`t get to see it yet, but I mean, if I had Miley Cyrus` body, I`d probably be walking around naked too. So, I mean, good for her.
DIAZ: What are you talking about? You totally have her body now. What are you talking about?
POLIZZI: No, no. She has like five inches on me, long stems. I mean, I`m trying to get there. But, she is gorgeous. Let her do what she wants to do.
DIAZ: Nicole, You can`t add height.
POLIZZI: I mean, if I could, that`s what I`m saying.
DIAZ: OK. That`s the next thing. That`s the next thing we are going to do. We are going to add --
POLIZZI: Stretch my legs a little bit.
DIAZ: There you go. I like that.
All right, well, one thing I know is you look absolutely -- I`m serious, during the entire interview we just did, I`m looking at you going you look gorgeous.
POLIZZI: Thank you. Oh, God, those pictures, I can`t.
DIAZ: But look at the ones on the right. I mean, I cannot believe your transformation.
POLIZZI: I`ll explain it.
DIAZ: Before you say anything, I want to know your weight loss secrets and what they are, but we`re going to get those coming up.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
POLIZZI: I`m at my gym (INAUDIBLE) fitness with my awesome trainer Anthony Michael.
ANTHONY MICHAEL, FITNESS TRAINER: Hi, guys.

MICHAEL: Hey, guys. The chest fly is an isolation for your pecks. OK? Nicole is going to demonstrate --
POLIZZI: Your boobies.
MICHAEL: Nicole is going to demonstrate for us.

DIAZ: That`s Snooki getting her grove on at her local gym and she is about to share her big weight loss secrets with us.
I am back with Nicole Snooki Polizzi. And of course, you`re looking at her too going is that Snooki right there? Nicole, you look amazing.
POLIZZI: Thank you.
DIAZ: Let`s talk about your amazing transformation. You look great, I hear 50 pounds, is that right? You lost 50 pounds?
POLIZZI: Yes. Well I gained like 45 pounds when I was pregnant. And I was probably like 15 pounds overweight to begin with. So, I shred it all off.
DIAZ: So baby Lorenzo is only 10-months-old, and not only have you lost all the baby weight, you`ve dropped even more. How did you do it?
POLIZZI: Well, I basically started working out when I could, six weeks after you give birth and I had been doing that ever since. I started Halloween, but I have to say, it did take a long time to see, you know, the results. It probably took four months. So, I kept going to the gym. I`m like what the hell`s going on to my trainer. I feel like I`m not losing any weight. I feel like I`m gaining more weight, what`s going on. And then, all of a sudden, probably like the fifth month everything just came off, and I got these muscles and I`m like OK. I guess it does work. You just need to, you know, let it take time.
DIAZ: What`s the one thing to share? Because everybody ask, everyone has drink a lot of water. What`s your big weight secret?
POLIZZI: Yes. I drink a lot of water. A lot of water helps because it flushes you out, your hydrates. A lot of water and eating good. I mean, your diet can change your whole body. So definitely eating good and don`t drink as much. I don`t drink any more. So, this is probably why I look like this.
DIAZ: There you go, water instead of vodka. Very good.
DIAZ: By the way, Lorenzo is 10 months. Is he speaking yet? Does he say anything yet?
POLIZZI: He says da da. But right now, he is starting to walk almost and he likes to pull my hair and beat me up and bite me. So, he likes to attack me for some reason. I don`t know why, but it`s cute.
DIAZ: So, it`s just like jersey shore.
POLIZZI: Exactly.
DIAZ: Nicole, thank you so much for joining us. I appreciate it.
POLIZZI: Thank you.
