NATASHA CURRY, CO-HOST OF SHOWBIZ TONIGHT: Tonight on the "Showbiz Countdown," Trayvon Tell-All the top 3 stunning revelations from the George Zimmerman team. What do they really think of the attention grabbing testimony of Trayvon`s friend, Rachel Jeantel?
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BERNIE DE LA RIONDA, LEAD PROSECUTOR IN ZIMMERMAN TRIAL: She doesn`t want to deal with anybody. She was reluctant, scared witness.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: HLN`s Ryan Smith and Jane Velez-Mitchell has been right there for every step of this emotional trial. Tonight, for us, they are breaking down this brand new HLN interview with the prosecution.
Plus, remembering actor Cory Monteith, Hollywood and fans worldwide can barely contain their grief after the sudden death of the "Glee" star. So, what could happen next season on "Glee" without their beloved Finn? SHOWBIZ TONIGHT starts right now.
(MUSIC)
CURRY: Hey, what is up? How are you doing? I`m Natasha Curry filling in tonight for A.J. Hammer. And, we have the after shocks of two shockers tonight, including the latest developments in the sudden death of "Glee" star, Cory Monteith.
First, though, we begin with the jaw dropping interview seen tonight on HLN "After Dark" with the prosecutors who failed to convince a jury that George Zimmerman should be convicted in the killing of Trayvon Martin.
Tonight, in the "Showbiz Countdown", the Trayvon Tell-All the top 3 revelations from the prosecutors. And, they told all today to HLN AFTER DARK co-host, Vinnie Politan. Watch here what lead prosecutor Bernie De La Rionda says when Vinnie simply mentions Trayvon`s name.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
VINNIE POLITAN, HLN AFTER DARK CO-HOST: Trayvon Benjamin Martin.
DE LA RIONDA: (Pause) I don`t know that there`s one word that can describe -- A victim.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: Vinnie interviewed the prosecutors in Sanford, Florida. That is where HLN`s Jane Velez-Mitchell is just back from. Jane, you covered the Zimmerman`s trial, of course you host the Jane Velez-Mitchell Show weeknight, 7:00 p.m. Eastern, here on HLN.
Now, Ryan Smith, Vinnie`s co-host on "HLN AFTER DARK" which you just watched. So, let`s kick off the "Showbiz Countdown." Our number three, Trayvon Tell-All from the prosecutor team. The lead prosecutor revealing what he thought about Trayvon`s friend Rachel Jeantel, when she testified at the trial. Watch here what the prosecution team is saying now.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DE LA RIONDA: She doesn`t want to deal with anybody. She was a reluctant scared witness. The bottom line is, what she has said from the very beginning from the interviews to the media, from Mr. Crump from everywhere has been consistent throughout. You may not like her use of language. But the end result, she told the truth.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: OK, so Ryan, knowing that, do you think that, do you think that the prosecution -- should they have made Rachel Jeantel feel more comfortable and safe on the stand?
RYAN SMITH, HLN AFTER DARK CO-HOST: You know, I think if they could have found a way to do that they should have. I think the tough thing is, you deal with the witnesses that you have. And, Rachel Jeantel was a reluctant witness so they say. So, they did what they could with what they had.
But, it becomes a tough issue with witnesses, Natasha. They -- you know, and people do not understand how tough it is to testify in front of the entire country watch with -- the entire country watching. Millions of people judging you and remember this is not a woman who`s English is her first language.
So, it is -- and I think he is right, she did tell the truth and it was kind of consistent. So, at the same time, what can you do with it? I think they did what they could, if there was a way that they could have involve more people to try to make her feel more comfortable and I think they should not have interviewed her with Sabrina Fulton in the room, but they did the best they could. And, they thought that was the best way to get the story from her.
CURRY: Yes. And, Vinnie also asked the lead prosecutor about Rachel Jeantel`s attitude on the stand. Let`s watch that.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
POLITAN: Lack of attitude and a lot of people saying, "My goodness! Why didn`t the prosecution prepare her better on how to testify in terms of, you know, to be respectful, answer the questions, and do not come across with the attitude that she display..
DE LA RIONDA: See, I took it this way. I took it as the defense attorney was not scoring points. In fact, I think -- but we will find out from the jury. I think it back fired. I think at some point he was too aggressive. And, it looked like he was beating her, not physically but just verbally beating. So, I think it backfired in that sense.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: All right. So, Jane what do you think? Does the prosecution deserve her pass on Rachel`s attitude too?
JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HLN JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL HOST: Well, as Ryan mentioned -- you know prosecutors are not casting directors. They have to deal with the people they are handled. That being said, Rachel Jeantel was a lot more respectful on the second day of the stand, if you remembered that she was starting to say, yes, sir, and no, sir.
So, obviously, somebody talked to her. Even though she claims she just went right home and went to sleep. Somebody got the message to her, "Stop being so sassy." They should have gotten that message to her way before, before she ever took the stand. I think they dropped the ball.
Well, she certainly was one of the most memorable witnesses that is for sure. OK, we`ve got to move to number two now for the Trayvon Tell-All on the countdown. The prosecution admitting today that there was indeed enough evidence to suggest that Zimmerman acted in self defense. Check this out.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DE LA RIONDA: The problem you have is that there was enough evidence, even though I would argue it was insignificant or very little, that there was self defense. You had John Good. You had other people. So, they were going to be able to get an instruction as to self defense and once we knew that was coming on, we felt we needed to put this statement on and just disprove it.
ANGELA COREY, PROSECUTOR IN THE ZIMMERMAN TRIAL: And, you had the injuries and the injuries indicate there was some sort of a struggle. Our position all along, we never said that Trayvon did not do something to George Zimmerman. What we said is you cannot take a concealed weapon and encourage or insight a fist fight, which is what he did by stalking a teenager, who didn`t know who he was and then whip your gun out and shoot.
And, that`s what he said. I just got my gun out and shut him. Never explaining the details of how he was able to pull his gun if he was being beaten as brutally as he claimed. And, so we had to put all of that in and then, we clearly refuted it with the physical evidence.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: So, that was prosecutor, Angela Corey saying there that they refuted the evidence suggesting that Zimmerman acted in self defense. But, I mean prosecutors, they were acknowledging to Vinnie that there was enough evidence to establish self defense, Ryan. Does that admission shock you?
SMITH: Yes, it does. But, I tell you what, I think Vinnie did a great job of getting the prosecutors to be real. Because what they did is they admitted what a lot of people think in all of these cases. My case is not perfect. The other side has a case and I have to do my best to prove beyond a reasonable doubt my case.
That`s what I think Bernie De La Rionda was doing and that is what makes this interview so incredible because Vinnie got the prosecutors to talk about what is real in the case, which is there were elements of George Zimmerman`s story that he was going to be able to claim that some may believe. It`s that the prosecutors` thought their story was much stronger and worthy of a case that could be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
CURRY: Yes. And, Jane, the prosecution told Vinnie that they would not do anything differently, or do you think they are just justifying their choices or do you think they did the best they could with what they could, with what they had to worked with?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I wish what Angela Corey said in that interview, they had it over the statement. Part of the problem was that they never really presented a clear picture of what they, the prosecution, felt happened that night. And, so we were left with this idea of, are they saying that Trayvon Martin was on the bottom or are they acknowledging that Trayvon Martin was on top?
But, then they said later, maybe he was trying to get away. It was a lot of maybes, there was a lot of should haves, a lot of could haves. Should have, could have, and would have is not a good prosecution strategy.
CURRY: Yes.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: They should have owned and call off to the fact that George Zimmerman was hit right from the get-go and sort of owned that and put their spin on it, as opposed to ignoring it, which they essentially did for quite a while.
CURRY: So, quickly let`s move on to the Trayvon Tell-All to Vinnie. Here`s number one on the "Showbiz Countdown." The prosecution revealing their true feelings about Trayvon and George Zimmerman. Vinnie asked to describe Zimmerman and Trayvon in just one word. Boy, was it raw!
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
POLITAN: One word to describe George Zimmerman.
COREY: Murder.
POLITAN: George Zimmerman.
DE LA RIONDA: Lucky.
POLITAN: Trayvon Benjamin Martin.
DE LA RIONDA: I don`t know there`s one word that I can describe -- Victim. A victim.
POLITAN: Trayvon Benjamin Martin.
COREY: Prey. P-R-E-Y.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: Wow, Ryan. What was your take on this?
SMITH: Incredible.
CURRY: Stunning.
SMITH: I mean I`m just stunned by that. And, I`m stunned by the honesty. And, you know what I think? The prosecutors are reflecting a lot of what people big group in this country feels that Trayvon Martin was preyed upon, that he was a victim.
And, when Angela Corey, the leader of this case says murderer even after the fact, I think that shows you how strongly they believed in the second degree murder case, because a lot of people out there are saying, "Well, maybe they just threw that in to see what would happen." I think they had a lot of conviction in their case in terms of what they thought they could prove.
CURRY: Yes. And, Jane, your one-word reaction?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I am a little astounded that Angela Corey said that, because all the powers that be are saying respect the jurors` decision, respect the jurors` verdict. And, by saying that one word, essentially, she is saying, "I do not respect the jurors` verdict, and I think that ill- timed at this moment.
CURRY: Here is what we want to know. Is George Zimmerman beating the rap really more outrageous than O.J. Simpson or Casey Anthony? Also being not -- found not guilty of their murders. Ryan Smith, Jane Velez-Mitchell stay where you are. We will talk to you in a second.
And, now moving on to the story that devastated the world wide. It is still rocking Hollywood. The shocking death of "Glee" star, Cory Monteith. Tonight, we have the shocking details about how his girlfriend and co-star, Lea Michele is coping with his heartbreaking news of his death.
(MUSIC)
Plus the big question tonight. How will "Glee" deal with the star`s death on the show`s upcoming season? And, now remembering Cory Monteith throughout the show. We are going to be honoring the "Glee" star with some of his most memorable performances from the show that made him famous.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
CORY MONTEITH, "GLEE" STAR: You are my fire. The one desire. Believe when I say I want it that way.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: That was just one of so many memorable performances by actor Cory Monteith on "Glee". He played Finn Hudson for four seasons before his sudden tragic death over the weekend in a Vancouver Hotel room.
And, what a huge reaction from fans over Cory`s death. In fact right after the news broke, it became the biggest trending topic on twitter worldwide and even bigger than Zimmerman verdict. Tweets coming in from some of the worlds biggest stars. This one coming from singer, Taylor Swift, saying, "Speechless and for the worst reason." Rihanna tweeted, "Heartbreaking, my prayers are with his loved ones."
Maggie Furlong joins us from Hollywood, T.V. editor for Huffington post. Maggie, this has hit us hard really because there`s so many huge "Glee" fans, huge Cory fan. You know, of his character, Finn and even the acting police chief in Vancouver, the one who had to announce Cory`s death was really emotional about it. Listen.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
CHIEF DOUG LEPARD, VANCOUVER POLICE DEPUTY CHIEF: As was the case in countless homes, I watched "Glee" regularly with my daughters, and I know there will be shock and sadness in many households with the news of his tragic death.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: Now, Maggie, I mean sadness, shock, that really says it all, doesn`t it?
MAGGIE FURLONG, HUFF POST T.V. EDITOR: It does and those tweets, you know from people like Rihanna and Taylor Swift, it`s not just the fans of the show and the cast of the show. It`s people whose songs have been used on the show. Everyone, feels some sort of connection to "Glee."
Because, it`s a huge juggernaut. If you do not watch it regularly, you have heard the songs. You have seen them on iTunes. You saw them touring around the country several times. This is a show that really hits a lot of people on a lot of levels. So, a death from a core cast of one of the fan favourite character is really a hard news to take.
CURRY: Yes. It`s a huge culture phenomenon, for sure. And, I cannot even imagine what co-star, Lea Michele, what she mush be feeling right now? She plays Cory`s love interest, Rachel Berry on this show. And, of course, it was just last year that they confirmed that they were actually a couple in real life as well. Let`s check out here just one of their many incredible moments on "Glee" together.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LEA MICHELE, GLEE CO-STAR OF CORY MONTEITH: I know I`ll keep searching after today.
MONTEITH: So, there it is, girl. We`ve got it all now.
MICHELE: And, here we are, babe. Why don`t you stay?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: Really hard to watch there. But, Lea she got the devastating news about Cory while she was in Mexico. A very difficult for her, Maggie, for obvious reasons. But, you got to wonder, how in the world she is going to get through filming this new season of "Glee" coming up really soon here.
FURLONG: I wonder about the whole entire cast. You know, it was one of those cast that again, they have kind of risen to fame together. They were all sort of relative unknown, even the ones who have done Broadway before.
But, Cory had never done singing and dancing and all this stuff, so he kind of learned with the rest of them how to be famous and how to handle this huge amount of fame that was sort of thrust to bond them.
I feel like for Lea, especially, obviously, I hope people give her, her privacy for her to grieve. But, they are going back to work very soon. So, it is going be a tough transition to get back. And, they have to deal with probably the death of Finn on the show to deal with that as well.
CURRY: Yes. Maggie, quick, I mean really, it was no secret that Cory struggled with substance abuse and he even went back to rehab a couple months ago. Lea stuck by him. And, even with his trouble, I mean Cory was known as the go-to guy on "Glee." I want you to hear what Director Adam Shankman just told CNN, who directed several episodes of "Glee." Listen.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DAVID SHANMAN, "GLEE" DIRECTOR: He was the glue. She was the cheerleader that held everyone together on that, that I really felt, he was always smiles. He was patient. He was the first one, you know, he always knew all of his lines right away.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: And , Maggie, Cory -- I mean he did not just know his lines. He nailed all of his songs and what is hard for a lot of us to imagine is, how the cast -- how the show could explain his absence?
FURLONG: Yes. It is one of those things where you know coming from people, who worked on the show. People who covered the show, TV critics like myself. It`s sort of the same sentiment being echoed across the internet.
It is that, Cory was one of the good ones. It is hard to find guys who staged genuinely nice even with all that much fame and he was always there working so hard, staying long hours, really, really trying to make the show what it should be and could be this amazing show.
But, it`s up to the show now to kind of take a step back. They do not have much time. They obviously have to grief, but they have to figure out the best way to give him tribute this season.
CURRY: He truly is a part of the heart of what "Glee" was all about. Maggie Furlong, thank you so much. And, now that the not guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman`s trial, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT daring to ask, which notorious case is the most outrageous? Is it Zimmermans, O.J. Simpsons or Casey Anthony`s?
Plus, showbiz caught on tape. Suddenly you remember, dang it, I left my coffee on the car, and my foot is on the accelerator. You have to see this amazing coffee cup rescue.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
(MOVIE CLIP)
CURRY: That is the pivotal and powerful scene in the crankily acclaimed new movie "Fruitvale Station." It is about the killing of a young unarmed black man in Oakland, California. And, it just opened on the very same week in the George Zimmerman who was found not guilty of killing Trayvon Martin.
Some people are arguing that this film has a very eerie parallels to what happened to Trayvon. "Fruitvale Station" by the way, it has a power cast, Oscar winner, Forest Whitaker. He is one of the movie`s producers. And, the movie`s director is also a rising star too. A young black man, not much older than Trayvon Martin, who is making his filmmaking debut with this movie that is now getting some serious Oscar best. CNN`s Michelle Turner for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, gives you this sneak peek.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
NISCHELLE TURNER, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Two years before the Trayvon Martin shooting became nationwide news, the bay area erupted over a case with disturbing parallels. Oscar Grant was young, African-American, and unarmed. Despite committing no crime, he round up shot to death by a figure of authority.
In his case, a bay area rapid transit cop. Grant`s death in Oakland`s Fruitvale bark station was caught on cel phone cameras and triggered local riots. But, it faded from national headlines and may have stayed that way if not for 27-year-old Oakland native and battling filmmaker, Ryan Coogler. Coogler wrote and directed "Fruitvale Station" a fictionalized look at the last 24-hours of Grant`s life.
I spoke with Coogler and his cast at the Sundance Film Festival where he told me that Grant`s killing hit him and Oakland hard.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
RYAN COOGLER, FILMMAKER OF "FRUITVALE STATION": It really shook us to our core. If it is capable of happening here, you know what I am saying. It is capable of happening anywhere and it does. You know, and it still does.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
TURNER: The movie is coming out just as George Zimmerman`s trial came to an end. Coogler and his stars, Michael B Jordan who plays Grant and Octavia Spencer who plays Grant`s mother, see the connection between the deaths of Grant and Trayvon Martin.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MICHAEL B. JORDAN, PLAYS GRANT IN "FRUITVALE STATION": I think it goes back to the quick judgment. You know, putting stereotypes on people.
OCTAVIA SPENCER, PLAYS GRANT`S MOTHER IN "FRUITVALE STATION": These were young men who deserved, you know, life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Just like everyone else. They were human being.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
TURNER: Coogler filmed part of his movie at "Fruitvale Station" where Grant was killed.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
COOGLER: It was very, very emotional process in everybody who is involved.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
TURNER: The Oscar Grant he portrayed is neither all good nor all bad, but a human being who was struggling to get his life together.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JORDAN: It was tragic that this guy did not come home to the people that he loved most. Tragedy was his death. This 22-year-old dude did not get a poor chance to figure out his life up.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
TURNER: A life like Trayvon Martin`s cut short.
CURRY: What a powerful movie. And, you can see "Fruitvale Station" for yourself as soon as it opens nationwide, July 26th. Don`t miss it. And, maybe you are wondering, with the success of "Fruitvale Station," should George Zimmerman maybe stepping to the spotlight with his own story. His take on it.
And, you know that casting in with his own take of what happen that night could earn him some big money. We have your top 3 George Zimmerman`s burning questions countdown. Which hot topic is going to be number 1?
This is SBT, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
CURRY: Right now the SHOWBIZ Countdown. The top 3 jurors` burning questions, what is next for him now that he has been cleared of murdering Trayvon Martin?
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I think he has to live mostly in hiding. He has to protect himself from that periphery that is still believe that he is some racist murderer.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: So, are you wondering too, will George Zimmerman cash in on his story now? Also this.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
(MUSIC)
(END VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: Remembering Cory Monteith. Hollywood stunned by the news of the sudden death of this young star. Tonight, we remember Cory`s best work as Finn Hudson on "Glee." SHOWBIZ TONIGHT continues right now.
Hey there and welcome back, on the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, I`m Natasha Curry in for A.J. Hammer. And tonight, on the "SHOWBIZ Countdown," now that George Zimmerman has been cleared of the killing of Trayvon Martin, we are counting down today`s top three brand-new burning questions.
We begin with number three, as Zimmerman joins the ranks of some of the most despised figures in history who has beaten a murder rap. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT dares to ask, which verdict was more outrageous, the George Zimmerman case, Casey Anthony being cleared or O.J. Simpson. Jane Velez- Mitchell, who`s host of HLN`s "JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL," is with me tonight along with reality TV star Omarosa Manigault is in Hollywood. Omarosa watched this Zimmerman trial very closely.
And ladies, thanks for being with us here. So, with all the protests, the outrage, the heated debates going on, I mean you can`t help but think of the reaction following the Casey Anthony trial, the O.J. Simpson trial. So, we`ve got to ask you, Jane. Which verdict do you think is more outrageous?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, I was in Orlando for Casey, I was in Los Angeles for O.J., they are all equally outrageous in the sense that innocent people died. Trayvon Martin, little Caylee Anthony and Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. But I would have to say, it terms up ignoring overwhelming evidence, the most outrageous and shocking had to be the O.J. Simpson case. Many key witnesses had their testimony thrown out because they had sold their story. There was the controversy that the detective who discovered some of the most incriminating evidence, using racist terms.
So, essentially the trial got side tracked and I do not think justice was done. That was the biggest outrage to me. But they are all outrageous.
CURRY: Omarosa, do you agree with Jane? The O.J. trial most shocking?
OMAROSA MANIGAULT, REALITY TV STAR: There is no question that that was very outrageous. But I have to tell you, it depends on your background, who you are and what your interests are, which one of these cases are going to be outrageous to you. If you are an African-American mom worried about your young sons, then you`re going to think this Zimmerman trial and this acquittal was just outrageous. But there are people who watched the Casey Anthony trial and thought that`s the most outrageous thing to happen in recent history. But I remember very clearly, that O.J. Simpson trial and I know that it was the most outrageous acquittal in the history of this country.
CURRY: Zimmerman, he may be keeping quiet for now about the verdict, but I mean some of the biggest celebrities in the world definitely are not.
At number two, the SHOWBIZ Countdown, why is Hollywood so heated up over the verdict, Beyonce was in concert in Nashville when she heard the news that Trayvon - Zimmerman was found not guilty. She called for a moment of silence for Trayvon Martin. Then she followed up with this tribute. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BEYONCE (singing): I will always love you. I will always love you.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: Wow, Jane, an emotional moment there from Beyonce, and it was almost like she took it personally, though.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I think it`s wonderful, and it`s wonderful that we live in a free country where celebrities along with other citizens can express themselves and express themselves beautifully and poetically, which is exactly what she did. She was moved by this. It happened right as she was in concert. She had the quick thinking to change the show and react to this with the moment of silence and the song and I say, bravo to her.
CURRY: Yeah, and I`ve got to tell you that Beyonce, she was not alone either, celebrities tweeted like crazy after the verdict came in, including Michael Moore, who tweeted, "had a gun-toting Trayvon Martin stalked an unarmed George Zimmerman and then shot him to death, do I even need to complete this sentence?" Omarosa, to Michael Moore`s (inaudible). What if there was a race-reversal here. What do you think?
MANIGAULT: If there was a race reversal, there`s no question he would have been arrested immediately and charged with this murder. The fact is that he was not arrested. Even as this child was being buried there were no charges brought against George Zimmerman. And that is where the outrage is coming from. There is no question, if the roles were reversed, he would have been convicted, he would have been arrested and there would not have been any delay.
CURRY: And Jane, what do you think if the roles have been reversed?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, let me say this, I think that in my opinion, the biggest problem is Florida`s stand your ground law, it`s a very controversial law. It does not exist in a lot of other states. And it does give people the right when they are carrying weapons to react. I do not think that citizens should be judge and jury. I think that we should try to keep that in the judicial system and that law makes a situation like this more likely to happen. And so .
MANIGAULT: Stand your ground does not allow you to stalk young people, Jane. It does not give you the right to go and follow a young man because he looks suspicious.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I agree with you. I think that there`s a lot of problems that I hope that this is an opportunity for dialog to really become more of a society of non-violence, of peace, and to realize we are all earthlings and we need to live together in harmony.
CURRY: Yeah, and we can all agree that it`s tragic that a young man is dead today and now that Zimmerman is free though, cleared of the crime, what is next for him. That takes us to number one on the SHOWBIZ Countdown of burning questions, will he try to cash in on his notoriety? Jane, I mean he can`t go back to his old job, you want to (inaudible) for him to cash in with a tell-all book or even more?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I hope not. I would say, shame on you, if he decided to do that, and I`m very disturbed that his defense team is talking about well, he`s getting his gun back, we know that that`s a fact, but talking about it and saying he needs to have it more than ever. Really? At this moment in time, to use some of the phrases that Mark O`Mara used in his closing? Really? Seriously? Is that what you need to be talking about now? Or does George Zimmerman need to lay low and try to get out of the news and maybe go into therapy and find out why he had all these impulses to be a cop and what was going on in his mind at the time and maybe work some of that stuff out.
CURRY: Omarosa, your thoughts?
MANIGAULT: But he`s, you know, he has already been cashing in, you know, he`d been getting so much support from a lot of groups who wanted to make sure that he was not convicted. So, it would not surprise me that he is going to get a book deal, but he`ll cut some kind of movie deal, because he has already been doing that. So we know he`s going to continue to cash in.
CURRY. And guys, I want to get to this, this just coming in. Zimmerman`s lawyer Mark O`Mara just told CNN`s Martin Savidge said even though he is a free man, Zimmerman till has a tough road ahead, let`s watch that.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MARTIN SAVIDGE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: What kind of life will he have?
MARK O`MARA, DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Not a good one. I think he has to live mostly in hiding. He`s got to be able to protect himself from that periphery that still believes that he is some racist murderer or acted in a bad way. And that you do not know who they are, you don`t know if they are down the street or you don`t know if they are across the country. I think that he is probably concerned about living still in central Florida. And never having a normal life.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
CURRY: Yeah, so he definitely has a different life now. Zimmerman, he has been hiding out for more than a year. Omarosa, now that the trial is over, do you think that Zimmerman should speak out and say something?
MANIGAULT: I think he should stay in hiding. I have heard and I`ve seen all of these post things that what the court couldn`t do, the streets will do. And as the result, street justice is very different than judicial justice. And I think that he should stay in hiding, and lay low.
CURRY: Jane, what do you think? When it would be a good time for Zimmerman to speak out if he decides to? Is that the right timing ...
(CROSSTALK)
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Maybe he should hang out with Casey Anthony. They two (inaudible) in Florida in hiding. Every time Casey goes out and sits in a diner, it`s like somebody spotted the abominable snowman. And everybody takes pictures, and tabloids, and we all wonder, there`s no way that George Zimmerman is going to be able to get up and go out, even if he is wearing a protective vest as his lawyer said, he`s going to do. He needs to go on a retreat and do a lot of meditation and work on himself and stay out of the news and not write a book. He needs to find out why, my personal theory is that his dad was a judge, was a magistrate, and he was seeking his dad`s approval. Daddy`s approval, that is why he wanted to become a police officer, that`s why he was so interested in law enforcement and I don`t think he ever got daddy`s approval and now, he might have an even harder time getting daddy`s approval.
CURRY: Yeah. It will be interesting if he does speak out. Omarosa, there is got to be something that you would want to hear him saying. What is that?
MANIGAULT: I think that he should apologize to this family. And I think he also needs to show some sort of remorse. Listen to his brother on one of the shows here, on CNN who talked about how Trayvon might have brought this on to himself and how he`s a free man and so he should just be left alone. But the truth of the matter is the more they talk, the more they stir the pot. And spirits are high, and people are concerned that he got away with murder.
CURRY: And Jane, in ten seconds, what do you think he should say, Zimmerman?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I feel for the family, I`m so sorry this happened. If he doesn`t want to admit culpability for legal reasons, there are civil suits and other things. I think he should say, my heart goes out to the family. I wish that I had never gotten in my car to go to Target that night.
CURRY: Jane Velez-Mitchell, Omarosa, thank you so much, ladies, I appreciate it and the Zimmerman verdict, it is not the only story that has Hollywood reeling tonight. You`ve got to fight for your right to party. You`ve gotta fight for your right to party.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
CURRY: Let me ask you something, have you left a cup of coffee on your car because you have a dozen other things going on at exact same time, maybe your kid screaming in the backseat. Well, I have definitely done it. You drive off, you completely forget your cup. I`m about to show you the video that`s burning up the Internet of a good Samaritan motorcyclist saving a beloved mug from certain death. Plus, we are introducing you to that heroic biker.
CNN`s Jeanne Moos for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has this special delivery for you. Check it out.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
MOOS: Riding on his motorcycle, Nate Boss (ph) is used to seeing the gorgeous snow-capped mountains near Orem, Utah. What caught his eye was the snow white of the cup on the dark SUV`s bumper.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: When I saw the cup, I was like, well, this lady just has a cup on her bumper.
MOOS: To the rescue. Nate gave chase, and then as calmly as he were picking it up at a Starbucks drive-through window.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It was not a big deal to me, getting close to her, I was not really that nervous.
MOOS: Nate figures he was doing about 40. With his head cam rolling, he says he decided to deliver the cup to the driver on a whim.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Make her day, I guess.
MOOS: When she made a turn, he followed her, and a few seconds later managed to show her the cup. She saw it, but didn`t pull over.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I kind of thought it would be cool if I was able to do the hand off while moving, and sure enough, she just rolled her window down.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: My daughter!
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: She poured it out, I was like, man.
MOOS: Nate said he sort of wished she`d taken a drink out of it. But he was not insulted that she dumped what looked like milk or milky coffee.
Of course there are worse things than a mug that you can accidentally leave on your car. A Seattle police officer drove a few blocks with this assault rifle lying on the trunk. A teen mom in Phoenix got arrested when she allegedly left her baby in a car seat on the roof of her car and drove 12 miles.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: The car seat toppled and was discovered by a motorist later in an intersection.
MOOS: The baby was fine. The mom pleaded not guilty to child abuse and DUI. Police say she told them she had just smoked marijuana.
Better a mug than a mug shot. There was one other time Nate played good Samaritan from his moving motorcycle. He spotted a Pontiac with a dangling gas cap.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I screwed it in and closed the lid.
MOOS: Closing gas caps, returning cups. He is Santa on two wheels, and we heard him exclaim as he drove out-of-sight --
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yoo-hoo!
