DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Want to show you some live pictures now we're getting in from our affiliate KTLA in Los Angeles. A warehouse fire burning out of control. Right now we have more pictures then we have information. You can see the flames still burning out of control and an area around the warehouse.
Can we go ahead and join their coverage and just listen? I think we hear Jennifer York, their helicopter reporter, talking about it. Let's listen.
JENNIFER YORK, KTLA REPORTER: ... to nearby homes or to a nearby apartment building.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Well, one of the things that we've been hearing all morning long is that you can see this fire from miles around. Jennifer York, Skycam 5 with an aerial view of that -- Jen.
YORK: Yeah, it's very visible from all the homes around, but the good news is is that in terms of the homes being threatened is that they are definitely not close to this lot. It's all pretty much an industrial complex. I would still wonder, though, in talking with the -- with Roland, how they attempt to try and knock this down? The fuel is scattered across the lot, of course. It's not like there's just one structure. There's pallets and pallets and pallets for miles, and I've noticed that it's been kind of difficult for them to get their lines in close to the flames.
Willa, is he still there? Is Roland still there or did he depart?
WILLA SANDMEYER, KTLA REPORTER: No, he stepped off to the side to talk to KNX briefly, and...
(CROSSTALK)
SANDMEYER: ... I tried to get him back over here. But you heard him mention that they tried to pull some pallets back out of the way to get a clear area around where this fire was burning. But, of course, as we can see how hot it was burning earlier, who's going to be able to get close enough...
YORK: Yes.
SANDMEYER: ... to pull some of those pallets back? YORK: And look at our shot from the firefighters here, they've got pallets all around them as well as trees and big rigs. We noticed that one of the rigs was definitely gutted. It has been destroyed by the flames, and so that's what I've noticed with this particular fire is that it's difficult for them to try to get in very, very close because of all the pallets. Look at all the palettes that they have to deal with. They're all around and they're trying their best to get -- you know to knock this down but every which direction we've got wood everywhere.
KAGAN: Getting our best information there from our affiliate KTLA reporters Jennifer York and Willa Sandmeyer on the scene of a warehouse fire. And as you could see from those pictures, a number of wood pallets around the fire that's burning out of control causing an extra challenge for firefighters in getting a handle on that blaze. We'll get more information on that fire and bring it to you later in the newscast.
