DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Let's also keep it in Washington and go back to Bob Franken, who's been listening in to police Chief Ramsey on WTOP -- Bob.

BOB FRANKEN, CNN NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: And, Daryn, Police Chief Charles Ramsey complains that all the attention to this has really distracted the investigation. There's no question about it, that there is a huge amount of attention. This has become something that has really preoccupied just about everybody these days, as evidenced by the live appearance, or routine live appearance by the chief on local all news radio station WTOP. Charles Ramsey is appearing now and taking telephone calls. Let's listen in.

CHARLES RAMSEY, D.C. POLICE CHIEF: ... with varying degrees of success. I mean you hit a point in time where if you don't know, you don't know. And who knows? I mean if you know something now and hang on and we'll talk about it. But I think right now what we need to do is everything we possibly can to find the missing person. If someone can contribute to that, whether it's a psychic, not a psychic, a witness, whatever, I mean it's worth listening to, probably.

QUESTION: Barbara, I am going to put you on hold and we'll get your information, so stand by for just a moment. Chief, an e-mail from our Web site, wtopnews.com. This comes from Toronto. Kyle (ph) would like to know how many women of similar age have been reported missing...

FRANKEN: So, in this particular case we have the police chief dealing with questions about whether psychics should be employed and what one could consider to be a very polite answer to that. The chief, of course, is dealing with a case that is now nine weeks old. It is the disappearance of Chandra Levy, a case that has been consumed by questions about Congressman Gary Condit and whether he had a romantic relationship with the 24-year-old former intern. She did not interview for Congressman Condit. She was an intern for the Bureau of Prisons but, in fact, was a frequent visitor to Congressman Conduit's office. The Congressman has repeatedly denied through spokesmen that he had a romantic relationship -- Daryn?

KAGAN: Well, and, Bob, interesting that that last caller coming from Toronto, Canada showing you how much interest there is not just across the country but worldwide as well. Bob Franken in Washington, thank you. We will check back with you in just a bit.
