(JOINED IN PROGRESS)

QUESTION: ... your reaction to that?

DR. ROBERT LEVY, CHANDRA'S FATHER: I just hope it helps.

QUESTION: The other thing I wanted to ask you about, in the light of the most recent allegation against Mr. Condit, the affair with one of his former staffers and the gift box that he reportedly discarded, do you believe that Mr. Condit is hiding something?

LEVY: Well, you know, I've got my own opinions but you know...

QUESTION: Can you share those opinions with us?

LEVY: No, I don't really want to go into that.

QUESTION: Dr. Levy, you probably heard that the congressman has agreed to help the FBI develop sort of a profile that might help in the search.

LEVY: Yes.

QUESTION: Do you think that's a good idea? Do you think that could lead to some positive developments?

LEVY: We hope. We really hope so. Just keep the goal the same.

QUESTION: One of the women who said that she lived in the building where your daughter lives in Washington said that she tended to keep to herself. They didn't really know much about her.

LEVY: Yes.

QUESTION: Is she a very private...

LEVY: Oh, yes.

QUESTION: Did not have any friends in?

LEVY: Yes, she has friends, but pretty private, a private person.

QUESTION: Do you think that helps the investigation or hurts it?

LEVY: No, it doesn't help but that's the way, you know, the way it is, unfortunately.

QUESTION: One last thing. As you know, in the community here there's some sentiment developing regarding the congressman's actions, including some of your friends, Mr. Vance, who's spearheading a campaign to, and has called for his resignation. One of the congressman's colleagues now has openly rebuked him, saying he's brought discredit to the Congress and the community. What's your reaction to that?

LEVY: Well, that's certainly, you know, it's people, you know, trying to help and, you know, we appreciate, you know, any way people can help find my daughter.

QUESTION: As a constituent do you have any particular feelings?

LEVY: Well, I do but I don't really want to, I don't want to share them right now.

QUESTION: Thank you, sir.

LEVY: Thank you.

QUESTION: Thanks for your time, sir.

LEVY: Thank you.

KAGAN: Some comments there from Dr. Robert Levy, the father of Chandra Levy. This is becoming basically a daily ritual as the doctor leaves his home in Modesto and heads out to his practice as an oncologist in the Modesto area. Today, Dr. Levy commenting on reports that Congressman Gary Condit has agreed to cooperate with the FBI to try to create a profile of Chandra Levy that perhaps could help in trying to discover what happened to the young missing intern.
