WOLF BLITZER, CNN ANCHOR: Let's go to the U.N. Security Council just outside. The French Foreign Minister Dominique De Villepin is speaking to reporters.
DOMINIQUE DE VILLEPIN, FRENCH FOREIGN MINISTER: We believe also that the United Nations do have a key role in all the other crisis, all the crisis of proliferation, and we know that Iraq is just one of them. There is many others. And we have to face also responsibility for the other crisis. Responsibility also toward terrorism. We may be afraid that terrorism will know a new burst, and we need to be united and coordinated in order to face this terrorism. Responsibility also toward all the regional crisis, and maybe the first one of them today, which is the peace process in the Middle East. We, of course, need to be on the verge of initiatives, on all of these crisis. We wanted also to hear, to listen to reports of Mr. Blix and the representative of Mr. ElBaradei, because we think that the job that they have done in the last month was a very important one. They showed that it was possible to disarm peacefully Iraq, and the experience that they got is going to be very useful in Iraq tomorrow and other crisis, also.
So this is basically the reason why we are here today, and of course we will follow very closely the situation, and we will keep in touch with our German colleagues, Russian colleagues and Chinese colleagues, as well as all the other members of the Security Council.
BLITZER: We're going to break away from Dominique De Villepin, speaking in the aftermath of this U.N. Security Council meeting that has been going on this morning.
