Powell Delivers Remarks on Handover of Power to Iraqis

DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: I want to take you live now to the State Department. Here's Secretary of State Colin Powell.
COLIN POWELL, SECRETARY OF STATE: ... new interim government. We're in conversations with Ambassador Brahimi, and it would be premature at this point to describe those conversations or who the personalities are that we might be looking at or that the Iraqis might be looking at to assume positions in the interim government.

KAGAN: Well, that was quick. The secretary of state outside the State Department with the Danish foreign minister, Per Stig Moller, and answering some questions there, no doubt, about the transfer of power that is set to take place less than 60 days from right now, on June 30, on exactly who will be leading up the government.
