$295 Million Powerball Jackpot to Be Split Four Ways

JEFF FLOCK, CNN ANCHOR: Back to the lottery for some fresh information. People in four states checking their Power Ball lottery tickets this morning. Four, as we said, winning tickets sold, Minnesota, Delaware, Kentucky and New Hampshire.

KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: That's right. We're going to take you now to the Granite State and the store where a winning ticket was sold in Rollinsford, New Hampshire. Here is reporter Tara Mergener of CNN affiliate station WMUR.

All right, Tara, what's the scoop?

TARA MERGENER, WMUR CORRESPONDENT: Well, we're still trying to figure out who bought that winning ticket here at Cumberland Farms in Rollinsford, New Hampshire. As you can imagine, everyone is very, very excited here. The only thing for sure we know right now is that the ticket was bought on Friday.

Now again, everyone is very excited. Everyone coming in here this morning is asking, "Who won? Who won?"

Now, the winner will have to share this prize with three other people in other states, Delaware, Minnesota and Kentucky, but still that is $74 million a piece and that is not too shabby.

But the big mystery here in Rollinsford, New Hampshire is who bought this ticket at the Cumberland Farms.

FLOCK: Well, it's interesting. You know, I was on a big game winning thing once where we were all looking for the winner. They sort of surreptitiously came in, observed the scene and so, be looking Tara, in the background there, for somebody who shows up and is kind of looking around, but...

PHILLIPS: Tara, that area in Manchester, what are the normal jobs? What do people usually do within that area? I mean, could this be one of the rags to riches stories?

MERGENER: Well, this town actually borders Maine. It's a ways away from Manchester. There's all kinds of jobs here, farming, manufacturing and things like that, so we don't know. It could be anybody in any field. We've got lots of professional workers too. Could be anybody.

FLOCK: Is lottery real popular up there? Did you have a lot of the lines and that sort of thing there as well as we saw elsewhere, Tara?

MERGENER: Yes, we had a lot of the lines for this particular jackpot because, again, the Maine border is, I can see it from here. It's several hundred yards away and that's it. So, we had lots of people coming over the border to buy tickets here and, as you can imagine, this has been great for this store too. I guess they get 1 percent of the profits here, that's up to $30,000.

PHILLIPS: Hey, all right. They can retire early.

FLOCK: Yeah, no kidding. I'll bet it's a Mainer, though, if it's on the border. I'll be it's a Mainer.

MERGENER: It's on the border. Well, we don't know. We're hoping for a Granite stater.

PHILLIPS: There you go. All right, Tara Mergener, thanks so much.
