UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Just because you're from the ghetto, just because you live in Section 8 housing, just because you're on welfare, food stamps, WIC, and all of that stuff does not define the limitations of your existence.
PHILLIPS (voice-over): The Tampax "Total You" tour was a powerful, uplifting and encouraging time for thousands of African- American teenagers. Talk about the ultimate girls days out. Imagine a day full of massages, manicures, makeovers and a chance to hang with Queen Latifah free, Donna Richardson, Sister Soldah, and Faith Evans.
Well, that's what it's like in Tampax's world. It's all about the girls.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It's all about what we need to do to take care of ourselves as we become women. And we're really all about womanhood to sisterhood.
PHILLIPS: But this tour is about much more than just having fun. It's objective is to teach young girls about self image, self esteem and self love.
QUEEN LATIFAH: But eventually, you'll decide either I'm going to love or I'm going to hate me.
PHILLIPS: The national 10-city tour is hosted by Free. And she was more than happy to be a part of it.
FREE, HOST OF BETS 106TH & PARK: I guess a few people threw my name in the pot. And they asked me. And I was like, "Of course, I would want to host the Tampax tour."
PHILLIPS: This is a unique experience for women of all ages to exchange dialogue and connect with one another.
FREE: We thought originally that it was just going to be young teenagers, you know, 16 and under. People are coming with their mothers, their grandmothers, their babies.
PHILLIPS: These sister girls were keeping it real, sharing personal stories and teaching these young teens how to strengthen their minds, bodies and spirits. And who knows more about how to keep the body intact than fitness guru Donna Richardson?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: And I'm having a great time here. Thank you, Tampax.
