Search Underway For Domestic Pipe Bomb Terrorist

As of this morning six explosives discovered in Nebraska, the latest safely detonated in a home in Seward. No injuries in those Nebraska events. Those who made the first discoveries were not so fortunate. Six people in Iowa and Illinois were wounded Friday in pipe bomb explosions there. Reporter Suzanne Dayo of our affiliate station, KETV has the latest.

SUZANNE DAYO, KETY REPORTER (voice-over): Investigators comb the scene for evidence. A pipe bomb was found in this mailbox in rural Filmore County.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You think out here in rural Nebraska it's not going to happen.
DAYO: Gorland Nunn found the bomb while collecting his mail. He says it was in a clear sealed bag.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It was a pipe about six inches long with caps on both ends and there was a nine-volt battery witness.
DAYO: Nunn called investigate, a Nebraska state bomb technician detonated the device inside the mail box.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It's been rendered safe, the device.
DAYO: We're told there was notebook paper inside the bag with the bomb.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: There was paperwork, but don't know what any of the paper paperwork says.
DAYO: In rural Thayer county another pipe bomb was found in this mailbox. It was also detonated.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Very dangerous, very deadly.
DAYO: Investigators searched the area for evidence. They use a metal detector to try to locate fragments of the pipe.
People in nearby Davenport, Nebraska say they are not used to all this commotion. UNIDENTIFIED MALE: A pipe bomb in Davenport. Kind of unusual, you know.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Just upsets everybody that it happens out here in this rural Nebraska town.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The rural community usually things are pretty quiet out here. But don't seem to be today.
DAYO: Gorland Nunn will need to buy a new mail box. He says he is thankful that is the only thing that was destroyed.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: If they hit you in the face it could be pretty severe. Fortunately, something didn't work right, I guess.

O'BRIEN: Federal officials say anti-American propaganda, notes warning more attention getters were found near some of those earlier bombs.
