FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: One day after undergoing a colonoscopy, President Bush returns to the White House later today from Camp David. Officials say he's resuming his normal routine now.
With a look ahead, we go to CNN White House correspondent Suzanne Malveaux.
Hi there, Suzanne.
MALVEAUX: Hi, Fred.
Well, the president is going to be returning to the White House sometime this afternoon. We are told that he is feeling great.
It was just yesterday he underwent that colonoscopy that you had mentioned. We are told that he was feeling so well, he was playing with his dogs, he was exercising. He went on a 4-1/2 mile walk.
Now, this morning we are told that the president met with his National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice. The focus, of course, is pushing forward the Middle East peace initiative.
As for the coming week, the president has a busy schedule. He is going to be taking his domestic agenda to the American people on the road. He is going to be focusing on compassionate conservatism, welfare reform, as well as the need for the American people to continue to support the war on terror -- Fred.
WHITFIELD: All right, thanks very much. Suzanne Malveaux from the White House this morning.
