MILES O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: More now on that deadly attack in Kashmir. CNN's Suhasini Haidar joins us by videophone from Jammu and Indian-controlled Kashmir.
SUHASINI HAIDAR, CNN CORRESPONDENT: That's right, Miles. What we're seeing behind me is the cremation ground where the relatives of the 27 people who were killed are bringing their loved ones' bodies. There is a lot of fear here, a lot of anger, in fact, at authorities for not having protected them better.
Last night, witnesses tell us, between three and six militants entered a small shanty town outside Jammu, and opened fire, lobbed grenades at people there, killing 27. Most of them were women and children.
And Miles, the person feeling the brunt of the people's anger here is really Indian Deputy Prime Minister Alcia Vali (ph). He made a rush trip to Jammu about an hour ago, and he's going to report to the Indian Cabinet as to what he's seen here -- Miles.
O'BRIEN: All right. That's Suhasani Haidar, my apologies to you. Thank you very much for that report.
