HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh is expected to be back on the air tomorrow. He took off about a month to get treatment for his addiction to prescription painkillers. CNN's Susan Candiotti reports.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

SUSAN CANDIOTTI, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): When he left the air about five weeks ago --

RUSH LIMBAUGH, CONSERVATIVE RADIO TALK SHOW HOST: I am addicted to prescription pain medication.

CANDIOTTI: Rush Limbaugh told fans he was hooked on pain pills and going into rehab for a month.

LIMBAUGH: I want you to know, I'm no role model.

CANDIOTTI: Limbaugh's brother told listeners last week Rush is, quote, chomping at the bit to get back on the air.

DAVID LIMBAUGH, RUSH LIMBAUGH'S BROTHER: He's very realistic about the long road ahead of him and he's committed to staying the course.

CANDIOTTI: Limbaugh publicly admitted his addiction after "The National Enquirer" published scathing claims from a former housekeeper who said she sold him at least 30,000 Oxycontin pills. Limbaugh told listeners he has been in detox twice before but failed to kick the habit.

ERIC OATS, THE STARTING PLACE: If they can recognize they got a problem again and go back for help, their chances of recovery are much, much better.

CANDIOTTI (on camera): Radio stations have been running promos, anxious to win back his huge audience. Meanwhile, law enforcement sources insist Limbaugh's drug troubles may not be over, adding investigators have not yet decided whether to press charges against Limbaugh and his former housekeeper over what police say may have been illegal trafficking in prescription drugs.

Susan Candiotti, CNN, Miami.
