JASON CARROLL, CNN ANCHOR: It could be a hot night for the producers of the civil war epic "Cold Mountain." The movie tops all Golden Globe nominations with eight, including best picture, best actor, best actress, best supporting actress, and best director in a drama.
The Clint Eastwood-directed movie "Mystic River" follows with five nominations. It's also a best drama nominee at tonight's ceremonies. Like "Mystic River," the movie "Lost in Translation" also has five nominations. And, of course, keep an eye out for "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" tonight. The final installment of the mythical epic has four nominations, so does the fantasy "Big Fish."

But of course, what we all really care about tonight isn't who wins the Golden Globe awards, it's who's wearing what. Hollywood buzz is all about style and celebrity, and here to talk about both is stylist to the stars Phillip Bloch.

Phillip, I notice that you're not wearing your traditional hat. It looks like some folks here are saying you wore the red carpet today.

PHILLIP BLOCH, CELEBRITY STYLIST: Exactly. Exactly. I've got to change my look. It's Hollywood, you know?

CARROLL: That's right, you've got to change it up a little bit. You dress celebrities such as Halle Berry, John Travolta, Selma Hayek; the list goes on and on. Who are you dressing this year?

BLOCH: Jim Carey, I'm dressing Jim Carey tonight. Last night I was at the "Vanity Fair" party, they had a very exclusive "Vanity Fair" party, and everybody was buzzing about what they were going to wear or not wear because Kim Cattrall doesn't even have a dress yet.

CARROLL: Oh, scandal! Kim Cattrall doesn't have a dress.

BLOCH: I know! Kim, call me, I've got five dresses at the house, not mine, of course. Kristin Davis is saying a little Prada something.

CARROLL: OK.

BLOCH: So I'm curious to see that.

CARROLL: Little Prada action, there. What about the trends for this year? Any trends that you can tell us about? BLOCH: I think we're definitely going to see a lot of chiffon, flow-y dresses. Those that show up, anyway. And accessories, I think it's all about great accessories, whether it's the Jimmy Choos or the Sergio Rossi shoes, great beaded bags. And I think the biggest accessory we're waiting to see is who's J. Lo's date going to be.

CARROLL: All right. Forget the accessories for a second and work with me on this one. When I think of the Golden Globes, I know you're looking there, thinking what is he going to say, but you know what this reminds me of? This reminds me of when you watch track and field. When you're watching a hurdler, you know someone's going to trip. Ice skating, you know someone's going to fall. When it comes to the Golden Globes, it's all about, also, who's going to really mess up. You know, who's going to show up looking like Bjork, or something like that. Any idea why this has become such a huge red carpet type of sport.

BLOCH: Well, you know, I ran into Lara Flynn Boyle last night, our favorite ballerina. And I said, Lara, what are you going to do for us tomorrow? We're all waiting. I'm tired of talking about the ballerina dress. She said, baby, I'm staying home. You're going to have to come up with something different.

So I don't know, with Bjork out of the running, Lara Flynn Boyle's not going to be there, what are we going to talk about.

CARROLL: I thought Lara Flynn sort of rocked the house in that tutu kind of a get up last year. I liked it.

What about when designers give dresses to celebrities, do they get to keep the dresses, do they get to keep tuxes, do they end up giving it back?

BLOCH: The usual rule is if you're nominated or if you win, obviously, you get keep it. If you're presenting, then it depends how good a stylist or how good a publicist you have if they get to get you it.

CARROLL: Also, everyone obviously talking about J. Lo, she's going to be showing up. Any idea what she might show up in?

BLOCH: That is so not important today. It's all about the date. Really, J. Lo, we just want to see who she's with. It's not what she's in, but who she's with. I'll be working with her sister Linda this afternoon on the red carpet, so I'll get an inside scoop. I think it's going to be very funny.

I think the guys are really dressing up a lot, too. I saw Bernie Mac's wife yesterday and she was having these eight-carat earrings turned into cuff links. Wow!

CARROLL: Yes, about we don't care about the guys. It's all about the ladies, isn't it? Those are the ones that show up, those are the ones people seem to focus on, they're the ones that get all of the attention the next day in all the papers. What about designers, Phillip? Tell us about that. Any idea which designers might be popular this year? Maybe YSL, Gucci, anything?

BLOCH: We're having a lot of exclusives this year, whereas designers are just doing one person. YSL has an exclusive, Ralph Lauren has an exclusive, Chanel has an exclusive. There are several, Carolina Herrera's got an exclusive, and if we think about it we might know who that is, she's worn them a lot before. But I hate to give away all of the mystery.

CARROLL: All right. You've got to keep something for the actual show, right?

BLOCH: Exactly, exactly. Besides, the girls would hit me later. Because they all stay up and watch us, they all want to know what everybody else is wearing.

CARROLL: All right, Phillip Bloch, thanks so very much for that. Thanks again.

BLOCH: Have a great day.
