HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: As Super Bowl XXXVIII airs tonight, millions of football fans will be praying that their team pulls off a win, but one person is making what might be a heavenly pick, if you will. Sister Jean Kenny of the Seneca Spiritual Life Center has guessed the winner of the last 15 of 18 Super Bowls. She's joining us now live from Fort Lauderdale, Florida with a poem and some praise for her current picks.
Sister Jean, thanks so much for being with us. Once again this year, always a pleasure to have you.
SISTER JEAN KENNY: Thank you, Heidi, I enjoy being CNN's Super Bowl Sister.
COLLINS: I like that, too. Now listen, 15 out of 18, this is a great record. How's it make you feel?
KENNY: Good. I'd like to be 16 out of 19 by the end of tonight.
COLLINS: OK, well we'll get to that in just a minute. And I don't want to bring up, you know, too many bad memories, but we should probably talk about two seasons ago. Remember that game?
KENNY: Yes, it was a nightmare I'm trying to forget.
COLLINS: You are? I'm sorry. Well, St. Louis Rams, New England Patriots, what happened?
KENNY: St. Louis -- well St. Louis was 14 point favorites and they lost in the last few seconds when Adam Vinatieri kicked a field goal and the underdog team won. So that was big, big upset.
COLLINS: It was a big upset. Now you bring up a good point. How often do you look at the point spread?
KENNY: I look at the point spread, but you know, it doesn't really matter because any point will do. So even if New England wins by one tonight, or whatever one point will do it. But the point spread is seven for those who are in Las Vegas.
COLLINS: Yes. Yes, 6.5 or 7, something like that. Who do you think is the stronger team, as far as defense goes?
KENNY: New England. And then a close second would be Carolina, but I think New England's stronger.
COLLINS: That's a good point. And offense? Is it obvious?
KENNY: Yes, I think it's New England, too.
COLLINS: So what does that tell me?
KENNY: And I think...
COLLINS: Two for two.
KENNY: Yes, and three for three in special teams.
COLLINS: Special teams as well, huh? OK.
KENNY: So you kind of know who I'm -- where I'm going with this.
COLLINS: I'm going to let you say it, though. Go ahead. Who's going to win?
KENNY: OK, New England.
COLLINS: OK. And I know that you always prepare a lovely poem for us. So I understand your thinking behind all this. Let's go ahead and listen in on that.
KENNY: OK. The title for this year's poem is "Hurrah for the Red White and Blue." Welcome football fans to the Lone Star state. See the Patriots win in Houston at XXXVIIII. Their 'Homeland Defense' won't let the cats out of the gate. Winning the Lombardi trophy again proved they are great. This greatest show on grass belongs to the Pats. Tom Brady and his teammates manhandle these cats. Feasting on feline as their night time snacks. Sly Ty Law's hands led the defensive attacks. Bill Belichick proves why he is Coach of the Year. This masterful guru's game plan is cryptic, not clear. Watch automatic Adam kick into high gear. The second place Panthers won't even come near.
COLLINS: My, that is quite an endorsement, Sister Kenny.
KENNY: Yes, and I predict the final score Super Bowl XXXVIII will be the New England Patriots 22, and the Carolina Panthers 16. Go Patriots!
COLLINS: Yes. All right. Lovely props, too. You know, I have to ask you, there's a reason why I brought up this game two seasons ago because as you said, it was an upset. There was an underdog that people were -- some people were rooting for. Kind of the same situation here, don't you think? A lot of people rooting for the Panthers because it's the first showing for them. And they are kind of the underdog.
KENNY: Yes, they are. And I'm still sticking with the Patriots. Call it David...
COLLINS: Go ahead.
KENNY: ...call it a David and Goliath game, but I still think the Patriots will win it. I hope it's not too close so I can really enjoy the game.
COLLINS: Oh, come on. We want a close game, don't we?
KENNY: Well, you do.
COLLINS: Makes you nervous when you go on national TV telling us who's going to win, right?
KENNY: Yes, I still think they're going to win.
COLLINS: All right, Sister Jean Kenny, thanks so much for being with us once again.
KENNY: You're welcome. Thank you, Heidi.
COLLINS: As I said, always a pleasure. And I guess I have to say go Pats, just for you. Have a great day. Have fun watching the game.
KENNY: OK, we will. You, too. Bye-bye.
COLLINS: Bye.
