DARYL CHRISTIAN: Hello, my name is Daryl Christian. I'm from Virginia Beach, Virginia. I have a question for CNN. I would like to know who was the first black woman to win a Wimbledon title?
ZINA GARRISON, TNT WIMBLEDON ANALYST/FORMER PLAYER: Althea Gibson was the first African-American to win Wimbledon. She won Wimbledon in 1957 and also went on to Wimbledon in 1958. She also went on to win two consecutive U.S. Open titles. Althea Gibson gave African-Americans the chance and the thought process to believe that they could win a professional tennis tournament.
