KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Well, we have more now for you on that tornado that struck Myrtle Beach, South Carolina yesterday.
Reporter Steve Litz from our Charlotte affiliate joins us now from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Steve, what's the latest there?
STEVE LITZ, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Kyra, cleanup is well underway and has been since very early this morning. We're on a strip of land here on Ocean Boulevard which has been shut down here, the only piece of land which has been shut down here, amazingly enough. If you take a look at what's going on, as we said, cleanup underway. That truck you see right there has been making its way up Ocean Boulevard here progressively cleaning up the debris. And then you may be able to see just beyond the truck to the right, somewhat of a traffic jam. There are several traffic lights here on Myrtle Beach which are out.
Let's go ahead and show you some home video of this tornado, which came on shore here yesterday afternoon right about 4:15. It struck, ironically, one of the more popular tourist attractions here on Myrtle Beach. It's an amusement park. And you probably can see from all of this video people were scrambling, trying to take cover from this tornado. Amazingly, only nine people were taken to hospitals slightly hurt with just cuts and bruises. As we said, things are trying to get back underway here, trying to get back to normal. Several hotels have been condemned. But we are told that they are slowly trying to get things back to normal here.
We're live in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I'm Steve Litz. We'll send it back to you in the studio.
PHILLIPS: Steve, thanks so much.
