MARTIN SAVIDGE, CNN ANCHOR: Well, before TV news, the weekly newsreel offered Americans the best images of the week.

KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Now it's time for a modern look at the "Newsreel" with a few dramatic moments you might have missed this week.

Our Thomas Nybo takes a look.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

THOMAS NYBO, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): First up, ever wonder where you hide if you're one of America's most wanted? If you're suspected killer Nikolay Soltys you crouch under a desk in your mother's backyard. That's where authorities found him Thursday.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Somehow the suspect had arrived in the backyard of that residence on foot undetected in the cover of darkness.

NYBO: Imagine finding a bag of cash that fell out of an armored truck. Now imagine being able to keep some of it without having to flee to the border. That's what happened to this guy from Mexico, who walked away with a $25,000 reward.

Scientists warn that under the right conditions, a massive tsunami could threaten the coasts of England, Africa and the Americas. It's just a prediction. So we have to show you this file footage, just in case you forgot what a real live tsunami looks like.

On to the Little League World Series, where a last inning ping of the bat sends Japan past Florida for the title and the pro.

Remember kids, sticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt, unless they involve homosexual innuendo or slams against your sister or your mama. Just ask boxers Lennox Lewis and Hasim Rahman.

Landing gear, we don't need no stinking landing gear. From Peru, forget Viagra. A scientist there claims this smelly little plant can boost the male sex drive 200 percent.

Think you've got troubles? Picture what it's like for this construction worker who got nailed. For the record, the nail has been safely removed and he can once again pass through airport security.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: That's what was in me and it was buried all the way to the head.
